Good, timely service. Great food. Try the crab stuffed hush puppies. Good wine. Large portions. A bit pricey.

We stopped here sunday of dragoncon for their brunch. The wait was only through the line at the door. The only place they seemed understaffed was host. Waiter was very attentive. Liked the waffle and omelet station. Got plenty to eat and was not hungry for most of the day. Brunch included bloody merry or mimosas. Brunch was $27/person. Considering the cost of everything else I thought it was good.

I had a wonderful meal. The sea scallops were to die for. The service was superior. Can't wait to go back to Atlanta to eat there again. You can't miss!

I’ve visited countless hotel bars. This one rates five stars for its whiskey selection and the service - both are exceptional. I was spoiled with bartenders Sonia who makes an amazing old fashioned and introduced me to a new bourbon…a rare feat!

Fresh and tasty food. Nice omelette station, fresh fruit, very good breads, including date nut and lemon, as well as what you would expect from a hotel restaurant. Nice atmosphere and environment.

Ate here my first night in Atlanta. We had checked into our room and was tired from a 6 hour drive. We decided to just eat in the hotel, which had two restaurants. We wanted a heavier meal so we picked this place over the other one there. Service was top notch here. It is an upscale restaurant but the service was above and beyond what I would expect from a hotel restaurant. The chef even came out to see if we enjoyed our entrees. I ordered the Seared Scottish Loch Duart Salmon. I'm a big salmon fan, so it's usually my first choice. It came with a hopping John sauce, roasted butternut squash and wilted spinach. This was my first time eating butternut squash and I loved it. Salmon was cooked just how I like it too. Only complaint was the spinach wasn't enough. It was so tasty that I wanted more. Overall, I enjoyed my food tremendously.

My wife had a steak and I had the pork chop. Both were excellent with all the trimmings. Our server was always there when needed, but never pestered us during the meal. IF you're staying at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, I'd give this place a try. Keep in mind, it is fine dinning. It's not inexpensive. Our meal, with one drink and desert was over $100.

Wonderful atmosphere, and dinner was fabulous. The service was top notch. Everyone at my table enjoyed their food. The shrimp & grits (With barbecue shrimp!) were excellent.

There are much better places for the money. My parents were in town so we went here for my birthday. It is very expensive and not worth it. Granted we were there on super bowl Sunday, so I expected the service to be a little ‘off.’ The restaurant was empty and the service (food service) was SLOW. The bread ($7!) was amazing. The steaks that were ordered were good. Sides are not always family/share size and are expensive. I had the gnocchi and it was so over done it was like chewy overcooked pasta. That’s really hard to do... I had one cocktail and it was good but took forever and there was no one else in the bar area. Service charge of 18% was added for our party of 7, so be sure to review your check But Hals or Chops or Lobster Bar are much better options for the same price point.

I had the chowder to start...and I know the picture may not give it justice but it was delicious and i finished it all. The lobster ravioli was average in my opinion. Was expecting more of a flavorful meal and it was disappointing.

The breakfast buffet has an assortment of fruits, pastries, a waffle station, an omelette station with a chef, and other foods. This restauarant only serves a breakfast buffet. They do not serve breakfast a la carte. The wait staff inquires about what one wants to drink and returns with the requested beverage. The food is very filling here. I had an excellent made to order omelette during my dining here. This restaurant is in the Atlanta Marriott Marquis.

Had a absolutely fantastic snapper for lunch. Sophisticated atmosphere, great service that was also very timely since this was lunch time. Also had the banana pudding that was not only a cool presentation but delicious.

First let me say I don't like ala carte pricing in a restaurant. However, if the food is good, I can overlook that. The food I was served was inedible. I ordered the half slab of ribs. They came out stone cold, so I sent them back. When they returned they were hot, but looked like and tasted like a charcoal briquet. At least they didn't charge me for them when my husband told them to take it off the bill. Next morning my friend and I went down to check on breakfast, $26 for the buffet, plus the cost of a drink was simply unacceptable, so we went elsewhere to eat. I would never recommend this to anyone and would never want to try it again!!

The hostess' can't speak much english for some reason, no idea why they staff them like that. The waiters were good but often slow and distracted. The food was great but super over priced. $25pp for a very average breakfast buffet was not great. We had two steaks two shared sides and a wine each and it was $165. Really?? Not worth it. Cheap decor too.

It was a busy place the day we had our brunch since Beyonce was in town staying at the hotel as well. The food on the brunch buffet was good, though the lines for omelets were long.

This restaurant had the best breakfast I have had in a long time. We ate of the breakfast bar but took it to go. Simply amazing!

When staying at the Marriott Marquis always buy the package deal for the room, parking, and breakfast. The Sear provides excellent service and a delicious breakfast that promises two buffet visits. They have a wonderful selection of items for the omelets and have choices of whole eggs or egg whites. Fresh fruit is available and a long list of breakfast meats. A good investment.

We are attending a conference and staying at the hotel Sear is housed in. I usually do not eat at restaurants in a hotel but, I was hungry and wanted a quick bite. We went to breakfast yesterday. Even though it was a buffet, we had a hard time getting juice. The service was so bad, I had to go to the drink station with our waiter to keep him on task. My presence in the area so moved everyone, that all of the wait staff reacted to assist. We had dinner tonight. The food was a bit overpriced yet tasty. While our waiter was very nice and charismatic, he was slow. When you order soup and salad, it should not take long.

Breakfast menu is limited. Buffet was average, not hot enough. Omelet bar was great, service is slow

Really good seared vegetable plate and they made it to go for me since I wanted to eat in my room. Service was good and the hostess super nice. Really enjoyed the flavor

We ate breakfast here one morning. It was good but very expensive. The food was good but nothing special.

The food was good for a hotel restaurant with a few nice surprises like the smoked lamb rib appetizers and the fried baked sweet potato

Had our first meal of the weekend here at the Sear's Friday Seafood Buffet. Excellent food and plenty to choose from. I can highly recommend this hotel restaurant.

A group of 6 adults and two children ate breakfast at Sear during DragonCon. The staff were wonderful to us and the breakfast was wonderful. Two of us ate off the menu and the others off of the breakfast buffet. All the food was delicious. We'll certainly be back!

Very good food and excellent staff.....highly recommend this place in the Marriott. Great, healthy menu choices and the service is friendly and quick.

My husband loves breakfast and when the sun comes up, he is ready to eat. We visited the restaurant while in Atlanta at the Atlanta Marriott Marques hotel. We did not want room service so one of the employee in the M store referred us to Sear. Breakfast was AMAZING! My husband ordered the All American breakfast which offered 2 eggs, sausage, bacon or ham, hash browns, toast, coffee and juice. I was like WOW! Your beverages are included in the price! We ordered grits instead of the hash browns. The serving size was enough for 2 people! The breakfast was very satisfying and the service was outstanding.

How come hotels like this one never have free breakfasts? Anyway, I ate the brunch buffet at Sear. Fortunately for me, on Saturday the buffet is open into the afternoon. The buffet had a wide variety of breakfast meats, pancakes, and biscuits. But you had to special order an egg omelet. Still the food was very tasty.

We just wanted to have a nightcap and a nice dessert. The place was empty as it was after dinner, but we still had good service and a great dessert. The decor is very nice and it was a great place to end our evening.

Service was good and food was good. Ate dinner one night and breakfast one morning. Evening server was knowledgeable about the wine and the food offerings.

Took advantage of the free breakfast for two with the hotel package. The buffet is $26 which is too high!

We had the opportunity to order off the menu or to eat the buffet. We chose the buffet because there were more choices than you could imagine. This was one of the best breakfast buffets I have been to. You could have ready to make waffles or pancakes or owlets. You could have biscuits and gravy. Any kind of meat was available even turkey sausage. There was all types of fruit including oatmeal and grits. I can possible list all the types of food but there were hot options and cold options. Everything I ate was fabulous. The value was $26 dollars per person and it was well worth the money.

I was really impressed by this restaurant! Our appetizers were great and my meal was top notch! I ordered the roasted veggie platter with an added grilled chicken breast and wanted to go back again to order the same thing another night! The sear on everything was perfect and the assortment was incredible! Grilled asparagus, carrots, potatoes, tomatoes, zucchini, squash, portobello mushroom caps— I couldn’t eat it all. I’m not a vegetarian (obviously, since I added chicken!), but it was easily a full meal if you are. The balsamic dipping sauce is delicious. Service was friendly but a little slow. I got the impression the server was giving us “space” for our meeting but it was hard to catch him going by when we needed things.

I was expecting to eat the most delicious NY steak I have ever had, done adequately medium well, with the right amount of charcoal crispiness. Tasting like the heaven, flavoursome and with herbal garlic butter garnish flame melted. I could have eaten another one.

I was here attending the NICHE conference, so many people standing in line for Starbucks and didn't realize that they could visit this beautiful restaurant for a quiet, relaxed meal. Staff was attentive and while I was there, getting a seat for breakfast was easy. Restaurant also serves lunch and dinner.

Stayed at the Marriott hotel, booked the romance package and it came with breakfast at SEAR. The restaurant is beautiful & the food was excellent

My husband and I have tried the salads and Crab Cake. Both were good. Great place for drinks if you're looking for a quieter option than High Velocity.

Lobster ravioli was actually cheese ravioli with a few chunks of lobster. They were also very proud of the wine. Mark West Pinot Noir over priced at $40! Most positive was the service.

Enjoyed beef and lamb with interesting & tasty salads. The service was very good. Would be happy to return.

The staff was extremely nice. The food was amazing. It was a little pricy but overall a great experience.

It was fine but I think close to $30 for breakfast buffet was a little much. If you're doing atkins or keto it's very carb heavy

The breakfast buffet offered at this hotel is one of the best Marriott buffets I've been to. Thank you!

Had wonderful service at Sear on Thanksgiving morning. The "Georgia" omelet was delicious! For a busy holiday morning (when they were closing early) service was great and we did not feel rushed.

Ate both dinner and breakfast here. The Executive Chef Renato Gerena runs a top notch operation. I met him because I wanted to compliment him on the food, and the service. I was there with my daughter for DragonCon, and despite the hoards of people there, Mr. Gerena's team supplied great service, and exception food. Brittany was our server for breakfast. We had the buffet and it was fabulous. Food was terrific and Brittany was a great server. Despite being slammed she was checking in on us and was very considerate. I was so impressed I with the food, I took a larger party back for dinner and we had Sylvester as our server. He was knowledgeable, charming, fun and attentive (I took his picture when he brought over the amazing Dragon Egg desert). I wish I could remember the pastry chef's name. He created this desert for DragonCon called a Dragon Egg (inspired by Game of Thrones). It was nuts. It was a specialty item for that event but it was exceptional. If Mr. Gerena's team can provide this type of experience when invaded by DragonCon attendees, I can only imagine that it is even better when they are not slammed. Oh, and if you like Bourbon, cool little Bourbon bar on the inside of the restaurant to have pre dinner cocktail.

the breakfast buffet was fantastic. lots of options for all diets and the hot food was always hot. i loved the waffle bar since they let you choose one large belgian waffle or multiple little waffles.

Skimpy portions, prices higher side, staff were good. Lettuce is cheap and the portion was dismal. Brunch looked good but we did not purchase it. Menu is not very extensive. Easy for a quick bite.

Business dinner and many of us were unimpressed. ‘It’s a steak house, you’d think they’d bring the steak knives before the steak’ said one of my colleagues. We even sent multiple items back as they were cold or cooked improperly. The filet was good but everything else subpar - service, sides, and the wine, although that might’ve been the fault of a colleague who picked it. But even then, I wouldn’t expect poor wine choices in a steak house. Wouldn’t go back. If Ruth Chris gets a 4 according to TripAdvisor, this place gets a 2 or below.

For a restaurant in a hotel, it was excellent. Everyone in our group had either prime rib or steak. Everything was delicious. The wine selection was impressive. Our server was very good. Prices were a little high but it is downtown Atlanta.

Upon entering we were greeted by the hostess whom was professional and kind answered all my questions. They have the basics muffins, fruit, granola cereal, toast bagels and made to order items such as waffles, custom omelets, fresh eggs and carved ham. I enjoyed the food it tasted fresh and very good!

My husband and I stayed at the Marriott for our 26th wedding anniversary we had breakfast at Sear it was great. Full breakfast bar with smoked salmon and fresh fruit. I would come here again.

Went to the restaurant for a buffet breakfast. They had a great buffet. Great service by the waiter . can’t remember his name but a true gentleman. I was able to get plenty of coffee and a fresh fruit was delectable. I would truly recommend it. Actually probably go there tomorrow my last day at the Marriott

Friendly host and servers. Good bread. Great shrimp corn chowder with "kick". VG BBQ shrimp (large) on cheese grits... Great southern food experience. No...no room to try dessert. Nice open spacious restaurant. Good for conversation

Morgan and Miss.Sonia at the bar are AMAZING!!! Morgan made my friends and I some off the menu cocktails that were so amazing we had to go back the next evening!! Morgan is very knowledgeable about her spirits and welcomes a challenge to create something!! Please stop by and tell her the ladies from Memphis sent you!!!

The food was yummy and fresh. I appreciate the hot oatmeal, omelettes and fresh squeezed juice, but the full buffet starts at $26.00. You must bring an appetite to make it worth it.

Perfect ending to our weekend. Wonderful brunch with many choices. I especially appreciated that they had gluten free bread. It's not often that I get to eat toast and jelly. The coffee was really good too. Not bitter.

We had a business lunch at this restaurant located in the Marriott Marquis Hotel. It was fairly quiet during the week. I ordered the Steak Frites. It was a 10oz Ribeye with Fries and mixed Greens. The Steak was cooked exactly as I ordered. It was tender and the Chimichirri Butter complimented the Steak really well. The flavour of the Steak with the Butter was exceptional. It was one of the best Steaks I’ve had in a long while. The Fries were hot and crispy and the mixed Greens were ok. I would definitely eat here again.

We decided to take advantage of the seafood lunch buffet on Friday. Wish we hadn't. The choices on the buffet were baked salmon, that reeked of fishyness from several feet away. Boiled shrimp, nothing to write home about, no punch to the cocktail sauce either. Shrimp and grits.... amazingly enough the grits had more flavor than the shrimp, just not good flavor. And then there was the catfish. Not exactly "sea" food, but the tastiest of the choices. Side dishes were equally unremarkable. Salad bar was pretty good, but when I'm eating salad over seafood there is something wrong.

Came here with some co-workers. Service was just OK. Not bad but not great, just average. Steaks were also just OK. I was expecting a little more but just average. Sides were smaller than typical steak houses I have eaten at. Had the Kansas City cut and it was cooked as requested and was tasty.

Thanks CHARLES - we appreciate your attention to detail! You came by and checked in with us both days of our visit!

My wife and I ate at Sear on a Thursday night. Food was very good. Service was very good. Sylvester was our waiter. He was excellent. Food was a little expensive but not out of the ordinary. Portions were sizable. Bilal the chef came to our table and found out it was my wife's birthday and made us a complimentary dessert. It was very good.

I will admit, Sear is taking the brunt of a newly developed pet peeve of mine. I absolutely can’t stand when ‘steakhouses’ claim to be steakhouses, yet really represent an upscale, American modern cuisine. I hate that. And that is what Sear has become. We went there on the first day of their re-opening. I liked our waiter, he was good. But the menu is horrendous, especially for a steakhouse. I do not like the trend that the food industry is taking. The menu should represent a traditional steakhouse menu, and Sear does not sadly. The quality of our steak was good, hence why my review is poor. But their menu selections are limited across the board. I strongly suggest you find another steakhouse to venture into due to their menu issues.

The service was slow but at the end of the conference we didn't mind the slow pace. Food was good. very pretty restaurant

Ate there twice this week during a convention. The breakfast buffet was "ok", but nothing special. Lunch was slow and disappointing.

We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere at Sear. They have a great breakfast buffet and their ala carte menu offers many options regardless of your dietary restrictions (e.g., low-cal, low-carb, gluten free). The service was friendly, but relatively inattentive and we often had to seek out our server to get coffee or water.

Wish there were more options however Sear is a great option if you do not want to leave the hotel for dinner.

I loved the cooked-to-order omelets, yummy! Most of the time when you hear the words "breakfast buffet" you think of the same old donuts and pastries but this place offers the works. It is a bit pricey though.

The breakfast buffet spread here is huge. They have everything and eggs made to order, with all kinds of other choices. The price isn't cheap at close to $30, but that's to be expected of a downtown hotel.

Almost everything was really good. One complaint is a few of the plates were stained, not dirty but old stains (please do something about that). Upon arrival. were greeted by Anthony. He was nice and very personable, he greeted us with a smile and he also seated us. Our waiter was Sam: he was also personable, very nice and he checked on us several times to ensure we were ok. Reggie was our chef: he repeated our order to ensure his accuracy, smiled, talked and made us laugh several times and cooked our food with love!! We spoke to a manager named Toure: he was knowledgeable, he cared about our experience and he even asked what they could do to improve our experience. He assisted his staff with the tables, plates, etc. he is a great example of being a team player! Everything was delicious and we will definitely return.

We had an executive dinner in this restaurant and service + food quality was great. Nothing to complaint including location and accuracy on service.

SEAR Restaurant offers an absolutely phenomenal dining experience that truly stands out. The service provided by Soham and Jay was nothing short of exceptional, making us feel incredibly welcome and well-cared for. Their breakfast buffet is a true delight, boasting a wonderful array of delicious food options. We especially appreciated the thoughtful inclusion of many choices for guests who do not eat pork. Vince, the Assistant Manager, was also incredibly friendly and accommodating throughout our visit. This attention to detail and outstanding hospitality makes SEAR a must-visit for any meal.

we had dinner and breakfast buffet. Phyllis was a great host. she made us feel welcome. all of the staff was great.

Visited this establishment in August 2017. Overall, the establishment is beautiful, the food was great and the service was exceptional. Highly recommend!

We actually went here last year at this time for Dragon Con and it was one of the best meals we ever had; we can hardly tell it's the same restaurant! Lamb ribs appetiser had little meat (which lamb frequently has a lot of fat) but the meat it had was dry and tasteless, same with the brisket, which was also very hard to chew. My mother-in-law commented that just from the photo she could tell it was hard. This would've been ok, because we still remembered last year's great experience and told the management this. They refused to give even a slight discount, so we paid over $100 and had to find somewhere else to go to fill our stomaches. They were trying to say we ate everything, which couldn't be true since it was mostly fat and meat that couldn't be chewed. Maybe they didn't realise my husband had put half of his on my plate for me to try, and they thought that part had been eaten. But they wouldn't listen and I'm pretty angry. Maybe they were frustrated with the Dragon Con craziness, but hey, we have tastebuds too. Should've gone to Polaris.

Had the kale salad (cold and not tasty and the Chef's simple fish of the day, which was a pan fried snapper. The fish was overdone and not fresh and juicy as I'd expect since there's a "Chef" prefix.

We had the breakfast buffet in the morning because Starbucks was packed and I did not feel well enough to explore. It was a beautiful buffet, but no breakfast is worth $28.

Lunch at Sear was reasonably priced and quickly served. There were a few problems with the order but the server was quick to correct them. The food was good and tasty. The server knew the menu and was able to make good suggestions.

Good meal to get ready for a busy day at market. The eggs Benedict were good, but the egg whites were not done all the way...eh. Hash browns were great. Decent price for a hotel sit down breakfast at $16. The buffet was $26 if you're extra hungry.

I wish you were closer to home, I would eat here 3 times a day! Chef whipped me up one of the best egg white omelets a girl could ask for. Juicy ham, onions and perfect amount of cheese. This was nestled next to my apple smoked bacon and grits with a piece of that beautiful golden nectar - HONEY! The honey is harvested from their very own hives on location we were told and they offer to you any way you want it.

Stayed at the hotel and had dinner one night at Sear's. Some unique selections on the menu, offered nightly specials, food cooked and smelled delicious. Ask about the honey made from the hotels own bee hive - very cool!!

Sear in Atlanta has delicious and flavorful steaks and seafood. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating to make sure that you have everything you need for the best meal.

Ended up eating here twice in 5 days since I was staying at the Marriott Marquis. Meal experience was similar both times. This is a solid dining option with good choices and average prices ($30-50 entrees). Food quality and portions were good and service was good but times were a bit slow in peak dinner hours.

Travel to ATL every year. And every year we eat at Sear for breakfast. I love breakfast and they have THE best breakfast buffet! Grits, pastries, fruit, bacon, sausage, made to order pancakes, french toast, omeletes and the list goes on. So good..must try it out!

Never sure what to expect from hotel restaurants; even the swanky, higher priced hotels. However, this restaurant exceeded our expectations. We were a bit worried since the other restaurant we ate at was a disappointment - but that's a separate review. So, to be honest, the prices seemed a bit steep - $34 for a 14 oz NY strip and the sides are priced individually. I ordered the jumbo grilled asparagus with crossed fingers. Regina ordered the salad bowl and it was a garden of veggies with apples and it was a big bowl - rather tasty. The steak was perfection from end to end evenly cooked medium rare with steak butter that enhanced the flavor and the asparagus was fabulous; the perfect crisp tender it should be. I cleaned my plate. Regina ordered the deconstructed pecan pie that was a site to behold - you eat with your eyes first. Pecan brittle with whole pecans and tender brittle, part of which was shaped into a bowl to hold fresh, homemade peach ice cream, soooo creamy and delicious - yes, I tried it! I ordered the creme fraiche cheesecake to go and it was rather ordinary, pretty but just cheesecake. Overall, well worth the prices. Sincerely hope it is just as good for those of you who choose to try it based on this review!

welcoming, walkin with immediate seating, self-serve seafood buffet, everything fresh, waiter busy but helpful, desert could be left out less than average

I visted a few weeks ago, had breakfast, it was good but very expensive. However, I attempted to have dinner there on Saturday night (9/3/16) OMG, First the hotel was packed but this place was not (first clue i missed), Had to wait for a 5 minutes to get the attantion of the seating person, Once we got seated (4), it took forever to get someone to take our drink orders, after that we waited about 10 minutes for our drinks ( 3 waters and a diet coke) we walked out.

My son and I ate lunch and dinner here. The prices are a little high but indicative of the quality of food you will receive. I had a turkey club and my son had a special order of homemade pasta and alfredo sauce. They were very accomodating. My turkey club had thick cut bacon, real slices of juicy turkey breast on sourdough bread with a lemon mayo. It was amazing. For dinner, my son special ordered grilled chicken and collard greens. He didnt care for the collard greens and they were removed from the bill without my asking. I had a grilled porkchop with peach sauce, with green beans, carmelized onion, garlic, and tiny potatoes. It was amazing. The service is relaxed and appropriate. Sylvester took great care of us at dinner.

This restaurant created a great space for us to have a business dinner with 28 people. The table was set up beautifully when we walked in - so great to see! The group did family style and got more food than we expected but it was fantastic. The waiters taking drink orders were calm and cool and had fun with the group taking pictures. Staff was very professional as well. We so appreciated all their help in a successful event!

I stayed at the Marriott Marquis and Sear is inside. Came back from my daughters competition at midnight and was a little hungry and thirsty. Was suprised that at midnight the place was still in full service. We ordered from the menu and while waiting enjoyed a drink. The bar staff was very friendly and prompt when my order was ready.

They made an offer, then didn’t follow through and never responded to multiple messages. We were attending a business meeting at the Marriott Marquis in Atlanta in December 2019. The food served during the meeting was properly cooked and tasty. However, one evening two of us ate in their fancier dining room (Sear) and were disappointed with the meal. We began with their signature Chef’s House Butter Bread. It cost $7 and wasn’t very special. The pumpkin soup was very good. However, the Pecan crusted chicken was terribly overcooked and dry. The waiter didn’t check with us until we had finished eating it. We asked to speak with his manager. Clare F. (Sear restaurant manager) was gracious and said that this should not have happened and offered to refund the money for the chicken to our credit card. She never did. We called and left messages on her work phone and cell phone and sent her email messages. She never responded. We verified that she was and is still employed. We called her manager (during the pandemic) to ask him to follow up, but he did not respond either. I would think he might have spare time now when the hotel is probably nearly empty. But no response. The chicken was disappointing but the lack of response from both managers is disgraceful and totally unacceptable.

I ate brunch here. The selection was good, and the food was good - and that's all. For the high-end restaurant of a Marriott Marquis I was expecting more, especially at the price (nearly $30 for brunch).

When in town for DragonCon, we routinely have one evening's dessert and Tuesday brunch at Sear before getting on an airplane. Both are top-notch.

lost our group's reservation -made 3 months in advance; food was better than average, service slow and check delivery totally unacceptable. They were short-staffed and no manager present to at least explain the delay.

Okay....so this review is going to be pretty weird. Here's why....although I enjoyed the steak, I wouldn't go back. Atmosphere: The atmosphere was amazing! Very cozy to be such a large facility. Service: I wish so bad that I had gotten the server's name who waited on us. HE WAS NOTHING SHORT OF AMAZING!!! He was very attentive!!! He was so kind and pleasant. I truly cannot say enough about him. Food: I ordered the filet and my son ordered the smoked chicken. They were reeeeaallllyy great! I truly think I could've sliced the steak with a spoon. It tasted soooo great! And that's pretty much where it stopped.....for me. I ordered the sweet potatoes as my side and the vegetable medley. My sweet potatoes came out cold, but good. I notified the server and he offered to replace them. I told him that wouldn't be necessary but he insisted and replaced them anyway. They were much better warm. The vegetable medley was decent too. My son had roasted potatoes and brussel sprouts. They were not good to us. Price: So when looking at the menu and noticing the prices they were pretty pricey, but I'm used to paying too dollar for great quality food. However I was surprised to learn that everything is sold a la carte! So when I ordered the filet mignon and it was priced at $32, I assumed that included a side or two, but it didn't. The sides were not extremely expensive though. Overall I felt that for the taste of the food, they were overpriced. I've had a better experience at J. Alexander. Miscellaneous: Something took place that really shocked me. Shocked me so much so that I didn't know how to address it with management or if I even should have. So....the restaurant is VERY open. The kitchen is out in the open for everyone to see. We were seated right across from the cooking area and could see everything. This is going to sound so weird, but hear me out. I'm not sure if something got on his hands, if he burnt himself or what, but I literally watched the chef (and I'm assuming the head chef) stick two of his fingers in his mouth while cooking. It caught my attention, of course, because he is preparing food. The weird part is that although i saw him do this, i never actually say him physically touch food with his hands. He always used utensils...so for some reason it didnt bother me as much. Overall, I didn't have a horrible experience, but it by far wasn't the best. We literally ordered Papa John's about an hour or two afterwards.

I'm generally not a fan of hotel restaurants. The menus try to please all tastes, and usually fail. This on the other hand was a great menu and excellent steaks. Visited this place twice in my stay and would certainly go back again!

We ate here twice during our stay. Once having the skirt steak and once having the pork chop. Both were good -- but basically on par with what you would expect from a high end hotel restaurant.

Hotel restaurants exist, I suppose, in a slightly different orbit from the stand alone restaurants in most cities. If you choose to dine in the hotel, you hope for the best. But Sear at the wonderful Marriott Marquis in the heart of Atlanta is very fine. I dined alone but was treated with the same courtesy as the head of a table of ten. Very attentive service. The food was excellent. A delicate crab cake that nearly defied gravity in holding together. A wedge salad was lovely. The ribeye with red wine mushroom sauce was a spot on medium rare and deeply flavorful. A side of a twice-baked potato was perfect. No room for dessert but it was a memorable meal. If you stay at this buzzing Marriott, don't be afraid to dine in house. It's very fine!

This spot was above what we could’ve imagined, Tina Marie greeted us at the entrance with such professionalism and enthusiasm. Phyllis was our waitress and she is probably the most professional and warm server we have ever had and we eat out A LOT. They made this experience memorable although I must include that the food was top tier, we haven’t had a meal so tasty in a very long time, it was one of the best experiences we’ve had. Ever..

I actually dined here a few times. Twice for breakfast, once for lunch, and at least once for dinner. And every visit was excellent. With co-workers, we sampled each others plates, and everything was delicious! My personal favorite is the Biscuits and Gravy in the breakfast buffet. Think I had at least 4 helpings. Service was great, always quickly seated and waited on. Being the Atlanta Marriott Marquis' restaurant, it can be a bit pricey. Even the breakfast buffet was like $26. So just be prepared for the bill.

We had to find a quiet place to grab a meal and a drink at dragoncon. This’ll. Was close wnoulf and the meal was very good.

Sear maintains an excellent high quality service even during the insanity that is DragonCon(and yes, I attend DragonCon and contribute to the insanity). My friends and I decided we needed a good meal as a respite from whatever else they had been eating or not eating. I ordered the special - Halibut. It was excellent- not over done as fish sometimes is- and served over a mix including farro and I think spinach. It was also beautifully presented. The service was excellent but also friendly. I have not eaten here during previous trips to DragonCon but will definitely return next year.

Food and service was great albeit a little pricey. We all had a New York Strip and was cooked exactly to order

Food was average at best but the real amazing item that stood out was the COLOSSAL Asparagus side dish for $8. What actually came out were 7 very small thin asparagus spears overcooked. That is over $1 per tiny spear. We commented when they put it down. They asked was everything ok and we again commented. We did not even touch a single one of the unacceptable little overcooked embarrassments. However low and behold guess what shows up on the check? Kitchen should be ashamed, whomever sent it out should have noticed, waiter should have done something, etc.. Plenty of places in downtown to go over this place within easy walking distance.

Ate breakfast here each morning during my stay. There is a good assortment and you can choose a buffet or order off of the menu. The food is good and like any hotel, it's not super budget friendly, but the portions are big.

We were in Atlanta for the Peach Bowl and stayed at the Marriott Marquis. After the game on New Years Eve we had dinner at Sear. I had a steak which was done perfectly, garlic mashed potatoes and a salad. My husband had the shrimp corn chowder and BBQ shrimp and grits with Tasso ham which was excellent. We sat facing the kitchen and despite the large number of restaurant patrons, the chefs did a fantastic job with preparing the food. All food was hot and very tasty. On busy weekends(like during football season) you will need a reservation.

Had horrible service before we were even able to utter a word! My friend and I stay at the Hilton and we were on our way back to our hotel, so we were using the sky view to get back. On our way back we thought about eating somewhere, and we saw Sears. We decided to see what Sears had on their menu. While we were looking at the menu a black woman in a suit(she works there) approached us snickering. I think her name was sheryl, but I’m not 100% sure what her name was. At first she asked us what we’re looking for and we told her we were looking at the menu. She then proceeded to say that “high velocity is opening soon, they are a sports bar and have a lot of T.Vs”. At first I didn’t pick up on her classism, and ageism (my friend and I are 21 year old black women), but when I thought about it, I realized how disrespectful her comment was. I have never been treated so horribly in my life! Ridiculous! Do not go here they turn away paying customers because of prejudice!

Lots of options, including a by-request omelet station. Cost was approx $56 for a 2-person breakfast.

Had Breakfast here the morning of our departure. Great selection and service. Beautiful setting, wish we had dinner here.

In the Marriott Marquis hotel, a nice hotel -- has seafood and steak meals. Staff was very nice. A bit pricey but delicious

My husband and I have been vendors at Dragon Con since 2012, and we always treat ourselves to Sear on Saturday night. We look forward to this dinner every year - filet mignon, medium rare. We have never been disappointed. Dragon Con is a very hectic time for businesses in the area due to a high volume of rowdy con-goers, but Sear treats us respectfully, even though we are usually in flamboyant costumes!

We ate and drank there after our conference ended each day. A good place to debrief. What is good is that it doubles both as a bar, and as a restaurant. Food is good and reasonably priced.

they are consistently under staffed during busy convention times. the food is average and expensive and not worth the trouble. never again.

We had lunch there and a breakfast. Staff was friendly. The portions were average size and the food was seasoned nicely by restauruant standards.

Had a lunch here with a colleague. Limited but thought out menu, and the staff were able to accommodate some changes for our dietary needs. Nice space, and there are outlets in the booths which are very handy!

We ate here a couple of time during our trip. The food was good and the service was as well. Drink selection was excellent!

This review is just for the bar. The restaurant and bar are ultra modern. They have a huge selection of wine. The evening I went the bar area was empty except me and another patron. I sat at the bar and was immediately greeted by "GG" the bartender. She is an AMAZING person and a pleasure to chat. The bar selection is what you would expect from a hotel bar. Not huge but adequate, although they do stock several very high end liquors. I would return just to chat with GG.

Very pleasantly surprised for the quality of the food and service for this restaurant inside the Atlanta Marriott Marquis. Limited beer selection, good wine selection. Had a great salad for starters and shrimp and grits for dinner, crème brulee for desert. My dinner companion had the fish special of Mahi Mahi which looked even better. Also had breakfast here the next morning which was expensive but very good quality. Nice place, great service.

Order was confused more than once. Server took my meal to the wrong table and then my order was incorrect. As previously reviewers stated, 4 shrimp with my meal. 😑 $2.50 each. I came based on the reviews for the grilled veggie dinner. It was overpriced for vegetables but the variety of the plate was good. I would have expected more than one mushroom cap on a veggie plate for the price but 🤷🏽♀️ I tried it.

The service is excellent, the food is amazing. I only get into town once a year, but when I do Sear is always on the top of my list

I enjoyed breakfast here every morning during my conference, partly because it was convenient (I was staying in the hotel). I tried the buffet the first morning, and it was good, but thought it was pricey for the amount of food I ate. For the rest of my stay, I ordered off the breakfast menu, which took longer, but was cheaper and more enjoyable, in my opinion.

We went for a late supper and they were running a buffet. We waited 10 minutes after we were seated for someone to take our drink order and give us silverware. I tried to get the attention of a waitress who turned her back to me. I went up to the hostess station to ask to for a server and the same lady who turned her back on us said she would be right over. We didn’t see her until it was time for the check. We finally got someone to take our drink order and he slammed them on the table. For a restaurant that was only 30% full and the only thing the wait staff needed to do is bring drinks slow and surly isn’t the best way to go. Especially when the buffet was $91.00 for two people.

The fresh made breakfast is delicious. I ordered an omelet but it took forever! And cost $17. I guess most people do the breakfast buffet for $26 so it’s lots faster. It’s good for a hotel breakfast but pricey.

The service was slow & place not busy. Food was ok but over priced. Dress is casual. Staff friendly.

Sear restaurant is located in the Marriott Marquis Hotel, which was very convenient. We had reservations, got seated right away; however, the food took quite awhile to come out, and we were actually the first or second table there, right when they opened. The salmon and shrimp and grits entrees were excellent! Thank you Sylvester for your great service!

OK great restaurant, good service, and food smelled so good. We came as a group of 10. Everyone’s dish was tasty according to the group. My however was not. I have ordered a salmon which was over-cooked and dry....and after two small bites I rather gone hungry than have another bite! Dessert on the other hand was fantastic!

Lunch was good…had the shrimp roll and the fries were amazing. Shrimp were large and cooked perfectly. They must have a staff shortage because the place looked empty but we still had to wait a while for a table. Service was slow and we were late getting back to our meeting. A little overpriced.

!!! Marinatef!!! for many many days for awesome flavors. So Tender. Loved the portions, and the chef choices of side items to go with the steaks. Not really a place for kids to enjoy, and why would you spend a whole lot of money for them not to enjoy it. But for Adults!!! Yes. So wonderfully good. And worth the price. Deserts were not over the top, but done with the chef flare to please.

A breakfast buffet offering real breakfast foods! It has just about everything you could want in a breakfast buffet. Sausages, thick sliced bacon, made to order omelets, real grits, and anything else you can think of. Highly recommended.

We would never had thought to go to a steak house and have one of the best vegetarian dinners we have had, but that is exactly what happened. The SEAR restaurant at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis was a true find. Starting off with their signature Butter Bread (marquis honey sea salted) perfection was a brilliant accompaniment to two well mixed cocktails. Red and White Quinoa Bowl (with foraged mushrooms. heirloom tomato, broccolini, toasted pine nuts and coconut marinated tofu) and Sweet Potato and Ricotta Gnocci (with Swiss chard, foraged mushrooms, brown butter and ricotta salata) with a side of Seared Brussels Sprouts (with barrel aged fig balsamic) left us literally licking our plates. Our server, Shyasia Barker, did everything in her power to make this dining experience one to remember.

Stumbled upon Sear for brunch and so glad I did on a Sunday. Bottomless mimosas and blood mary's to top off an excellent meal. Wish they had brunch daily. :-)

Agree with others who have said it’s a decent hotel option. Prices are reasonable. Service was very friendly. My broccoli soup and Caesar salad were good for a $10 lunch combo served during an insanely busy lunch rush.

Everything we ate was fantastic. The waitstaff really knows the menu and can guide you through your dining experience.

We were at the Marriott Marquis for a wedding and had breakfast at Sear before heading out for the airport on Sunday morning. Sear is a professional, well run, upper end Marriott and the meal was as good as can be expected. Like most upper end Marriotts everything is well done but it lacks some character. Very glad to have a tasteful, well executed meal, but nothing inventive of reflective of Atlanta. I could have been in any upper end Marriott in any city.

We ate here on our first night in town while visiting for the Taylor Swift concert. We were staying at the Hilton but ventured over this way after finding everything in the Peachtree Mall closed. Service was kind of slow and felt food was way overpriced, think I paid $25 for 4 shrimp. Having just arrived in town and not knowing the area we wanted to hang close to the hotel, otherwise, there are definitely better options within walking distance.

The food at Sear is everything!! The food is hot and delicious and fresh. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet! The gravy is out of the world! And the lemonade was refreshing and sweet. I loved it

Steak was damn near flawless!!!! 9.5!!! Also, get the potato fritters which are like baby potatoes!! wow!!!

We were staying at the Marriott Marquis for a conference and it was raining so we decided to eat at Sear. There were 9 of us and they seated us in a side room which was nice. The server was very efficient and attentive and handled our large party well. We ordered steaks, lamb chops, short ribs and scallops and all were prepared well and were quite tasty. There were a variety of sides-- green beans, collard greens, mac and cheese, Brussels Sprouts. Potatoes mashed, fried and sweet, to name a few. There were soups and salads also. Hotel restaurants can be good and they can be iffy, but Sear was quite good and we had a pleasant experience.

Ok, it’s the 4th if July- so just maybe you should get a pass here. But, not so fast. It’s our anniversary, and we decide to stay in downtown Atlanta. All good so far, the weather is great and it’s time to find dinner. Despite being in a hotel, Sear looks just fine. Our Waiter Icbal(spelling) showed up to take our order, and we saw him again when he dropped off the bill. He did at the end apologize for the slow service, which was an understatement. He said they were short due to the holiday, but every other restaurant in the Atl seemed to have enough staff. We waited almost an hour for our food, which was average at best- almost forgot what we ordered. There are too many other good restaurants in Atlanta to waste your time here, I say skip it unless they are giving out free wine or something...

if you order an omlette expect it to be burned - biscuits are awful - and this is georgia!! good fruit selection - sausage gravy out of a can - but buffet free for titinium members - so it was ok

Be aware you need to make a reservation for breakfast. And the Hostesses are surly if you don't - even for the buffet

The bread was the best thing we had. My husband ordered steak and it was over cooked. The food was not especially good. The service was poor.

The room is beautiful, service not so good. This seemed to be typical throughout Atlanta. It seems that very few restaurants, regardless of price point, really know how to serve a meal properly. Food was mostly god, though, my pork chop was very rare and I asked for medium. Servers, including hostesses that came over to "check on things" seemed very confused and not really into service, almost dismissive or confused.Too bad, it was a nice room.

Its my first time dining here at Sear inside Atlanta Marriott Marquis hotel. Awesome host, friendly servers and excellent ambiance, I loved all my food from my Moscato drinks, Salad Bowl, Grilled Octopus and the amazing Vanilla Bean Creme Brule. They served free bread too. Will definitely comeback for more.

I ate dessert at Sear back in late 2019 when staying at the Marquis, and my experience satisfied me immensely. While I was (and still am) saddened that they no longer serve the really big, amazing, unique-looking chocolate cake I saw on an outdated menu, the dessert I did have was equally as yummy. The service was also fantastic, and the casual, cozy, slightly-dim vibe of the eatery is a great blend of class and charm. My apologies for the late review, but I will return when I’m in Atlanta again! Thank you!

Ate at this restaurant for 5 days straight while attending a Conference held within the Atlanta Marriott Marquis. The only meal I had that was breakfast, so that is all that I can comment on. However, the breakfast was very good. I decided to order off the menu instead of eating from the buffet. It's a little pricey with the breakfast buffet being $26. But that's what one should expect when in a hotel. The meal I ordered separately fell only $5 shy of that amount. So it wasn't cost-effective, but I knew that the buffet was not the best for me.

We had dinner with friends - everyone got what they ordered and done perfectly. Restaurant was very busy but they handled the influx very well.

After one hour, my party was yet to get a second cup of coffee. Use the buffet if you have any schedule to keep. We left and went to Waffle House. The following day, Starbucks was reliable as usual.

Meh...the food is okay & the service is lacking for the atmosphere they are trying to have. Ate dinner here last night since it was more "kid friendly" than the sports bar & had breakfast here because it's the only thing offered in the hotel. Dinner last night was an adventure to say the least! We got here about 5:30 & they were not busy. We were seated right away & our server was prompt. That's where it ends! We waited 15 mins for a beer, a lemon drop martini, and a Sprite. The beer could not be messed up of course, but my martini was not drinkable it had way to much lemon juice in it & they forgot my daughters Sprite. After waiting another 15 mins she finally came back to take our order. My husband ordered the Cowboy Ribeye & green beans, I ordered the scallops & my daughter ordered a kids pizza. When we placed our food order I asked for a glass of wine, my husband asked for 2 beers & we reminded her about the Sprite. She brought me back another martini instead of wine but this time she did have the Sprite. I had to wait another 10 mins for a glass of wine & we still did not have our food. People around us were eating though. Finally our food came & it was blah. The pizza was nasty & I didn't blame my daughter for not wanting to eat it, her salad & broccoli were good though. My scallops were not pan seared it was more like a boil & they were still gritty inside which tells me they did not properly soak them. The steak was cooked good but it was bland the sauce is highly recommended for flavor. It took almost 2 hours total from the time we were seated to the time we were ready to leave. It was not worth the $140 plus tip Breakfast the next morning was a little better but not much. Why give someone a menu if the buffet is pushed? There were decent options offered but it was not that good, it was cold & bland. The server was nice & prompt though. A kids buffet is $5.95 but an adults is $26.00 my daughter ate more than I did... All in all its not worth the $ save yourself a headache & walk a block or 2 over to the Peachtree District & get food from there...

It was very unfortunate that we had a heavy dinner before partaking of the buffet breakfast. Otherwise we would have enjoyed it more, appreciated it more. The place is great with a wide variety of sausages, bacon, eggs cooked on the spot, pastries ( gosh, how we wish we were younger) fruits ( pear, apples, oranges, etc) . There was just not enough room in our tummies for the goodies. Tip: have enough time to partake all the choices. Unlike us we had to rush, rush, rush everything for we had only a day to go around Atlanta.

Ate dinner here while at a Conference. Our meal was outstanding! Our waiter was very friendly - and he didn’t hesitate to share what he thought were the best choices on the menu. He wasn’t wrong. Dessert was delicious, as well.

I treated myself to a nice steak dinner as an early birthday present. The server, Sylvester, was great. He was pleasant and attentive. My Caesar salad was lovely as was my prime rib. The only thing that was a bit off was the potatoes. They were plated before the steak was done so they arrived cool instead of hot. They also seemed kind of watery which is evident in the photo. Overall the dinner was nice.

Everything was good, enjoyed the atmosphere just as much as I enjoyed the food and drinks. Actually went twice while only there 4 days

I had take out and brought it to my room. Had fish of the day which was snapper which was excellent. A little pricey because it is an upscale restaurant but worth it.

So great location in the Marriott - nice bright spot with great breakfast buffet. Nice omelette station but i skipped and went for the scrambled eggs and sausage and lovely lovely bacon - perfectly crisp. Nice bread selection as well.

Nice steakhouse, located in the Marriott with good food. It's on the spendy side that many avoid during DragonCon. That being said, it does make it a bit more comfortable and quiet from the lobby crowd. Yes, you will find a few celebrities making use of this fact during DragonCon. Keeping this in mind, remember they're folks just trying to enjoy a quiet meal and if you're a BIG FAN, don't interrupt their dinner....They will surely accommodate you once they're finished.

Ate dinner at Sears while staying in the hotel and I enjoyed it. Had the filet and mashed potatoes and it was very good. Server was very attention also. They were not very busy on the night I dined here and other servers would also make sure we had everything we needed. Would eat here again when in the Atlanta area.

While staying at the Marriott was given breakfast vouchers for this restaurant. The breakfast was great, the omelette station was excellent and the selection of breakfast foods, rolls, and other options was the best I've seen in a long time.

Went here with ALL of my coworkers(80+) for lunch. They had a lunch buffet set up for us that had salad, baked chicken, fried fish, green beans, shrimp, shrimp & grits, and baked salmon, mixed vegetables, and a dessert bar. The shrimp & grits and fried fish were great. Everything else was just average to me. Not bad, but not great. And for the price of that buffet, it should've been great. The sweet tea was real sweet tea though. Sugary sweet. Tbh, I would give it a 4-star rating if they lowered the price. But it's worth checking out if you're staying in the Marriott marquis, and don't want to leave the hotel.

This restaurant is somewhat expensive, but not unreasonable for the location (it is in the Marriott, adjacent to the downtown Atlanta Hilton). The steaks are large and excellent. The grouper was very good, as were the scallops. Note that they charge quite a bit for bread: it is served as an appetizer rather than provided with the meal.

Highly recommend only getting drinks when Morgan is on the clock as she makes the best all around cocktails ! Anything she makes will be good !!

I enjoyed both times I ate at this restaurant. The first night I had a Blackened Mahi-Mahi and it was very delicious. My customer had a steak and loved his as well. I also at lunch here one day and had the Prime Rib Dip and it was phenomenal. Highly recommend trying this restaurant while you're in Atlanta.

Enjoyed a nice relaxing dinner after a long day of conference and sight seeing. Wonderful service and good menu with lots of choices to serve everyone's favorites. Delicious food.

I am in town traveling and decided to have dinner at the hotel instead of going out and about on the town. I was surprised at how expensive it would be for the convenience of eating at the hotel. Once seated my first waiter approached and told me about the specials and explained that all steaks are served on their own without side dishes. I was surprised to see that most of the side dishes where around $8 each. If I am paying $30+ dollars for a steak I think a side dish would be included. Enough about cost... -Their portions are large. I had leftovers of my steak and potatoes. -My waiter stopped by twice and then I never saw them again. I was assisted by another waitress who took over my needs, brought to go boxes and my check. I understand shift changes, breaks, etc...but tell me you are leaving and let me know who is taking over. I sat alone and waited (feeling very awkward) for a good 10 minutes before the new waitress stopped by. -It appeared to me that most people in the restaurant on week nights are business travelers -I was seated above a ballroom. The vibrations of the bass coming from the music in the ballroom was almost nauseating. It did not provide a relaxing environment. -I was curious about the Shrimp Cocktail ($16)...it has only 3 shrimp. For that price/shrimp they better be amazing and huge. Overall I would go back because it was easy. The steak was tasty but I would pass on it next time and settle for an entree that includes side dish options.

Breakfast is all I can speak to but it was great. We ate both Saturday and Sunday (Easter) morning- the buffet which was included in our stay. It was neat and clean. Not busy (8am) and had a large variety of food. The sticky buns were amazing and I somehow ate one each day! Yummmm! Hotel meals are expensive but this is the way to go if it's included or you prefer to stay in for breakfast. The hostess and server we're also very kind, helpful, and efficient.

I had breakfast there while I was staying at the hotel. I wanted something on the lighter side so I got 1 egg, some toast, and some OJ. The service was slow - super slow and the cost was outrageous for that little amount of food. Skip it and grab something around the block.

The food here was excellent and the wine was just as good. Our waiter was helpful and attentive. I would definitely dine here again.
Summer Cocktails
Birthday celebrations over the holiday weekend and I decided that it was going to be a Foodie weekend celebration. Patrick our server was cordial, informed about the menu, cocktails and extensive wine list. The support staff to Patrick worked seamlessly (great teamwork). The menu was varied and descriptive and our meals were well plated. However, I felt the kitchen just did not deliver on preparation of the menu items. What was described and how it tasted was not a match (not all but enough misses). The decor and ambiance of this restaurant was very nice. The restaurant was spacious, light, and airy with eclectic touches throughout the decor. It managed to maintain decent separation between tables and booths yet intimate and cozy for your party. We had the following off of the menu: Welcome bread basket - Yum (warm it a little more), Savannah White Shrimp Chowder - Yum, Broccoli & Cheddar Cheese Soup - Okay borderline salty, Grilled Flatbread Smoked Salmon - Yum, Cowboy Ribeye - Yum, Seared Scottish Loch Duart Salmon - Yum, House Smoked Chicken - Yum, House Smoked Lamb Ribs - Nope, the seasoning was great but the ribs were nothing but fat. Cocktails - Lazy Mule - Yes! Searita - Yes!
