Inventive food, pleasant atmosphere, stellar service

By TTaylordoc |

I just love places that innovate common foods: We started with Deviled eggs -- no big deal right? Wrong. How about adding crisp pork belly, fennel, and chive ... memorable! Now take pizza, but dress it with boar, venison, and duck ... a real treat! I'd love to go back soon and try more, plus it's a great place to linger over a meal. A friend chose this one blind and it was a home run!

No business at all

By Pippo3000 |

Booked a table on a Saturday night. We were the only guests besides an elderly couple. Decided to go somewhere else instead. A pity since the place looks sort of cool.

Terrific Breakfast

By Gasdoggie |

I experienced an Omelet with a side of bacon. They were both perfectly prepared. I had a choice of egg white omelet or regular. There regular was terrific. The service was above average and my coffee cup was never empty. They even gave me a to go cup of coffee.

Have their avocado toast for breakfast. Trust me!

By Dianne D |

This is a yummy little restaurant with excellent service. We were there for breakfast. The avocado toast with seeds and bacon was worth a special trip. My traveling partner had chicken and waffles that were equally fabulous. Bonus - they have fountain Diet Coke

Wasn't sure about this place but Jerry was AWESOME!!!

By PoshPrilla |

I believe the host was Jerry. My friend and I had been into "The Grill" down stairs and didn't really receive a warm welcome. When we walked up to the host station at the second floor we weren't sure we would eat there. We asked to see a menu and Jerry told us we could, and we could even have it if we wanted. We wanted to share the information with our husbands who were waiting outside the restaurant. We were discussing the menu and Jerry left his post to come and tell us they had a kids menu and he really hoped we would decide to eat there. That was the deciding factor for us. The fact that he cared enough to approach us, it was SUPER SWEET. Upon entering the restaurant I told Jerry it was a beautiful restaurant and he said he was so happy we decided to eat there, again SUPER SWEET!!!! He is exactly what is needed at the front of the house. You want your guest to feel welcomed and like they aren't a bother and that's exactly how we felt. The shrimp and grits were AMAZING, just wish more grits came with the portion. My daughter had the salmon sandwich which I tasted and it was delicious too. Had to be because I don't care for Salmon! Definitely worth the visit!

Bar Good, Food Suffering

By Chuck R |

The first time I ate at this restaurant I thought it was very good. The last time, not so. I ordered the steak and fries, with the steak prepared medium. It came rare and the cut of meat was tough, hard to cut and chew. I ordered the chocolate layer cake for desert, it was hard and not very tasty as if it had been days old from its expiration date. While the bar scene, the service and atmosphere are top notch, someone needs to take leadership in the kitchen.

Terrible Thanksgiving Lunch experience

By Marynell M |

I went with my sister to the Thanksgiving lunch at the Second Floor Restaurant. It turned out it was in the big ballroom. I don’t believe it ever said it was not in the restaurant. The food was cold, service was terrible. It took 25 minutes to get the check. They also added a $30 service fee. This was a terrible experience for Thanksgiving. And I was told valet was free if you ate in the restaurant. This was also incorrect. Overall, a very bad experience.

Thanksgiving buffet

By Elizabeth B |

We went to this restaurant for the first time on Thanksgiving because we were looking for a buffet lunch. I reserved our table several weeks in advance with a credit card guarantee. We checked in and were seated promptly in a room over to the side. A server took our drink orders and gave us our first set of plates. The buffet had a nice variety of food, but we all noticed the hot items were most definitely not very hot. Despite the temperature issues the food was tasty, especially the soup. The process of having to wait for our server to clear the plates and bring us clean ones was inconvenient and we waited quite awhile each time. At one point my husband got up from the table and went to a server to ask for more plates. It seemed a bit disorganized and it would have been MUCH simpler to have the plates at the buffet line. Overall, for the cost of the meal and the mandatory included gratuity we felt it was a rather poor value. Based on this experience we would not return for a holiday.

On our second visit, a month later, our server remembered our names, drinks, and appetizers!

By Two Wilsons |

We always appreciate a restaurant's service quality as much as its food quality, and we had remembered the Second Floor (from our previous visit to Dallas a month or so previously) for its creatively-prepared dishes and attentive service. Little did we expect that WE would be remembered on our return visit! As we sat down at the bar at the Second Floor, Ashley • greeted us by name, • knew the drinks we preferred, • recalled my favorite appetizer (the deviled eggs), • and remembered what entree we had ordered from her the last time she had served us. That level of personal connection isn't guaranteed even for a "regular" in a local establishment; for an occasional out-of-town visitor to a restaurant attached to a major hotel and shopping mall, it is absolutely unheard of. Once again, we thoroughly enjoyed our meals - but Ashley's remarkable personal attention made our experience special. We can't wait to visit again soon.

Relaxing location for an evening drink

By John S |

The drinks are well-made, but the beer selection is by the bottle. No draft beer was available, but the local craft and micro brews were represented. The meat and cheese board with pickled vegetables was good for two people to share with drinks.

Uninspiring

By Mike E |

We had dinner at the Second Floor restaurant to celebrate my daughter's birthday so we were looking for some ambiance and excitement. Unfortunately the Second Floor did not deliver. The restaurant decor is somewhat off putting; perhaps the bright decor is attractive for breakfast but it didn't translate well for dinner. The "relaxed ambiance" was also evident with the lack of a dress code - children in shorts and flip-flops, adults in t-shirts were admitted. If I wanted to impress someone by selecting an elegant or exciting dinner spot this would not be the place to bring them. With the competition of Addison just a couple of miles up the road the menu was pedestrian and the prices were absurd. Spaghetti for $19?? Shrimp & Grits for $25? A starter of five Loaded Deviled Eggs for $12? The service we experienced was poor. Our waiter lost track of our requests, was slow in serving and we had to ask for refills on water. I had the Lamb T-Bones which were pretty but small. Two on the plate was not enough of a portion. My wife and daughter both chose the Seared Beef Tenderloin which at $38 was disappointing; small portion, over cooked. Pros: The best I can come up with might be the convenience if I was staying in the hotel. But with the prices for breakfast I'd leave and eat nearby. Cons: Prices, service, menu selection.

Great Place to Eat While Staying at Westin at the Galleria

By Trudie T |

This is a great place to eat while staying at the Westin. It's just up one escalator from the lobby. If you just walk by it, you'll think it's just a bar, but there's a big dining room behind the bar. I was with a group of ladies on a shopping trip. We stopped in for a drink and ended up staying for dinner. The food and the service were both really good. There's a pretty extensive menu. We really like it here and will plan to come back next time we are at the Westin.

Excellent dinner

By TimandShannon |

We dined here tonight and found this restaurant on travelzoo. We had a voucher. My husband had the tuna and I had the petit fillet. Both were excellent. The restaurant is small and is in the Westin hotel at the Galleria. The service was also good. We will visit again!

I really want to like this place ...but

By biznews |

The bar is first rate and it's a pretty little place but the food is hit or miss. The lunch-time hamburgers are excellent...the risotto is almost always disappointing but the soups and pasta are first rate. Dinner brings a lame attempt at steaks but an excellent lamb dish. If you aren't captive at the Westin Galleria, you can do betgter.

Really enjoyable

By YGG |

Great pizzas and food. Tell Tim the bartender that i sent you. Great spot.

Overpriced

By Scubasusie |

The service was good but the food was overpriced for the quality of the food received. I had a $15 pizza the first night that was not very tasty and I had pancakes the last day that were good.

Slow service, average food, very pricey

By William H. Davy |

So because of computer problems at the Westin Galleria I had the unfortunate luck to have to kill some time at the Second Floor. I was given a free app coupon for my trouble, but I still ended up spending like $50 to eat here and all I ordered were a couple of apps and a drink. The service was terribly slow as it was a Saturday night and the hotel was extremely busy. My food came out cold, but it took so long to get anyway I was like whatever. Won't go again, unfortunately for them I stay at the Westin at least twice a year.

Had my Thanksgiving Meal at this establishment

By madmax1965 |

food was great as was the service, was pricey, but hell what restaurant isn't on thanksgiving. had a large buffet spread, all the food was delicious, as was the desserts as well. five stars!

Overpriced for the quality

By TravelerDavidfromGA |

I dined three times over four weeks at the 2nd Floor as it was very convenient to the Westin but was not impressed with the quality of the food for the price paid. The food was good and I cleaned my plate but for a little bit more you can have a significantly better meal at Maximo's or Del Friscos.

Fabulous meal

By DeutschgirlDallas |

I dined at the Second Floor for a low keyed retirement celebration. The meal was OUTSTANDING. We had 4 courses and all were excellent. The service was also great. Honestly, this was better than a meal I had at The Mansion. More people need to know about this wonderful restaurant at the Westin Galleria. I highly recommend spending an evening here.

Service can be improved

By g97traveler |

I met some friends here recently for a drink. It's a nice spot and is convenient. We were sitting at a table in the middle of the bar area. After waiting for about 15 minutes I went to the bar and asked for a drink. We were there for about an hour and I didn't see any server ever ask us if we needed anything. The place wasn't busy. Maybe it's self serve in the bar. If not then they need to hire some more servers.

Excellent Hotel Restaurant

By Marjk |

Daily breakfasts and lunches were high quality, Very good food with fun service. I even hosted a couple of business meetings.

Really fantastic experience

By rbtvwestfall |

Delicious food, started with cheese and charcuterie and calamari. I would skip the calamari next time. Black grouper was outstanding, my wife ordered the stew - it was OUTSTANDING Very weak wine list Very good service

Room service at the Westin

By jsorcechicago |

This place does all the room service at the westin. The pluses - service is pretty quick and food overall was pretty good. Minuses - not many healthy options on the menu. Simple grilled chicken or grilled salmon would be great. Perhaps the room service menu is smaller than the one in the actual restaurant. If so then the criticism is not fair.

Local Eclectic Fare

By Dave C |

Had dinner with business associates after a long day of business meetings. Not a ton of choices, but interesting ones like Dallas Farmers Market Salad, Pitmaster Flatbread, or Jalapeno Texas Burger. Good choice for eclectic fare.

Great cocktails and fun environment

By tripcasey |

This place has great drinks, nice wine selection. We ended up here starving and ordered one of the pizzas. It was very good, we ended up ordering a second one :) don't judge. They are open late and right inside the Westin which was convenient for us, staying in the hotel. Expect to pay hotel prices, which is pretty standard for this kind of place.

Comfortable and Convenient Place for a Bite and Beverage

By Elizabeth Niblo W |

After a long day full of seminars and shopping in the galleria afterward, I peaked at the menu and was immediately impressed, especially when the host told me about the Market Fish special--whole branzino. I asked for a table near an outlet because my phone was dead, and the host showed me to a very comfortable upholstered cushion in the back of the restaurant. I was very content and comfortable drinking a glass of wine and dining alone (which is not always the case). I had a friend meet me there later, and she really liked it too. Anyway, the special was outstanding and large. The whole fish was beautifully displayed, and the roasted vegetables were OUTSTANDING! The service was very attentive and friendly. Also, the beer selection was great! This restaurant is definitely not one to overlook!

Lovely breakfast at The Second Floor

By Dr Sue M |

This small but consistent quality venue keeps me upbeat about breakfast each time I visit. The chef and the servers have been here for years and have always been courteous, attentive, and fast with a delicious espresso and fresh fruit.

Bad bartender

By nvilletraveler |

Came in for drinks during happy hour but didn't know it. Went order a second round when we discovered the happy but were told we were five minutes too late. Drinks expensive. No service. Second bartender said "it depends on who you get back here (behind bar)." Not a great answer. Scott Gottlich (his name is part the restaurant name) should work on consistency.

Breakfast

By Herdlinger |

Great location if you are staying at the Westin. It provides the only "upscale" breakfast within walking distance. However, the meal is very average and the service is equally so. I was expecting more from this place but average is what I got. Much better than the offerings in the Galleria but that is not really saying a lot. It was quiet, as there was only one other table of diners in the restaurant the whole time I was there.

Fabulous Burger

By C G |

We were traveling with teenagers that were excited to try In and Out burger and Whataburger, yuck! Second floor bistro, burger was amazing! So glad to find real food while in Dallas! convenient location in Westin hotel. Pricey but worth every penny!

Wonderful food anytime of day

By jjc34 |

This is a very nice restaurant located on the second floor of the Galleria Mall and affiliated with the Westin hotel. It has wonderful food anytime of day. Lunches are particularly good with great burgers and pizza. This place is also very popular later in the day on the weekends.

Good food and fresh options

By Forehandr |

Great location, food and inventive menu make this a nice place for lunch or dinner. Modern, comfortable decor add to the positive experience.

Single malt galore!!!

By Nick T |

For single malt lovers - imagine a 10 foot wide wall filled with bottles and bottles of single malt! Great selections and everyone's budget will be met - wthether a $10 shot or a $30 shot, you will be delighted! Ordered their ribs and it was finger-lickin' good!!

Very good experience overall

By wesley77770 |

I was pleasantly surprised by my trips here while staying on business. Good, varied menu offering nice food and some interesting wines to wash them down.

Shockingly mediocre

By Jeffreykmd |

I am shocked that food so bad came out of the kitchen with Scott Gottlich's name on it. Bijoux was a gem. This is abysmal. Food with no taste. Luke warm soup. Poor service. The dining room was empty. The only redeeming factor was the drink list. I predict this place will quietly disappear given the tough restaurant competition in Dallas.

Bar at night/ Breakfast in the morning

By JWDONJ |

Breakfast had a good selection of choices from Eggs Benedict and a farm type eggs selection (larrupin' good) to Waffles and Giant Pancakes.

Back On Top

By Herdlinger |

After my breakfast experience here in August, I wrote a 3 Star review. Management responded with words about their making some changes and inviting me to give them another try. I did that just now. They have backed their words with action. The service was 5 Star and the meal provided a perfect beginning to my day. They are back on their game and I encourage you to give them a try. You will not be disappointed.

Enjoyable Birthday Dinner

By Jerri G |

We had not been here in over a year but the free entree for the birthday girl brought us in! We were delighted, from a special soup, to beef cheeks and a giant pork chop with roasted cauliflower and then a spectacular surprise peanut dessert! The meal was very good and very creative.

A tiny hidden gem

By Kelly M |

So there's this tiny little place that has a phenomenal bar, and bar staff. The bar manager, Seth is innovative and full of knowledge. He has these fabulous twists on classic cocktails, house made bitters, and impeccable wine selections. The bartender, Tim is an absolute treasure! So engaging and again very descriptive and knowledgeable, he makes you feel like you've been friends for years. You stop in for a quick, simple drink, and the visit is amazing!!! They are happy to talk about the plentiful selection of scotches, whiskey, and bourbon. There seems to be this sixth sense bartender Jose has about finding just what you wanted. I highly recommend this bar for a low- key, relaxing evening to wow your palate, and learn a few things.

Great food/service

By Dave and Nancy |

Wonderful Scotch! Wonderful food! Wonderful service! We had lots of choices but being able to dine at the hotel and not having to get the car out and search for someplace was very convenient.

Bleu cheese burger is amazing!

By Bethany N |

I ate lunch at The Second Floor twice during my stay in Dallas. The service was fast and the food was extremely delicious. I ordered the bleu cheese burger twice because it was that yummy.

eh...

By TBarrr |

So 2nd floor needs to step it up a bit on their dinner menu. I stayed one night at the westin and decided to make reservations for my boyfriends birthday and we were not impressed. Nick was our server, he was awesome and attentive. Now for the food: The deviled eggs were okay, the shrimp and grits were fine, although the shrimp was colossal and seasoned nicely the grits were cold and not very cheesy. My boyfriend ordered the applewood chicken. I have to say it tasted like barbecue smoked chicken (but before you slather on the barbecue sauce). After dinner we were ready for the check, when it arrived Nick placed cheesecake pops in front of us compliments of the chef for a birthday dessert. Very nice. All in everything it was just okay.

Great Service

By rkshack |

The Second Floor is a nice place to have a quiet drink with friends or unwind by yourself. The staff was friendly and low key. I had great service. I don't drink Scotch but they had a nice selection for those who do.

Convenient and not "mall-ish"

By TravelgalCathy415 |

We were staying at the hotel and went to The Second Floor twice - once for a nightcap, and the next day for brunch. I didn't feel like I was in a mall - it felt more like a resort hotel restaurant. Convenient and upscale. Fine for business meetings.

Excellent dinner for 2

By Elliot O |

My wife and I went here for date night. The service was phenomenal and the food was excellent as well. The had numerous whisky's to choose from and the made a flight for us. We each had sandwiches and then the s'mores dessert which was fantastic!

There are soooo many better restaurants in the Dallas area!!

By lovestotravel709 |

My son and I recently dined at this restaurant and weren't impressed. While my son's pork dish was ok, my chicken was awful. It was poorly seasoned. I have had better at the local firemen's chicken barbecue! I ordered a side of macaroni and cheese that was really macaroni and cheese soup. It was very runny! Our waiter never introduced himself and seemed rushed even though we were the only two people in the restaurant! After leaving the menus he came back a few minutes later and asked, "Are you ready?!!" After delivering the food he never came back to inquire about the food. Honestly the whole experience was underwhelming, and we won't be back.

Good Food & Service

By Johnmac541 |

Had appetizers for dinner at the bar and everything was pretty good. Definitely a reason to check it out for dinner. Roasted Blue Crab Bisque was creamy, hot & tasty. Maybe could have used a little more crab. Get the cup, plenty big enough. Tuna Nicoise Salad was large with plenty of Tuna. Wife had the Flatbread which were a bunch of grilled bread wedges served with sides of hummus, mustard spread & boursin. You spread your own...interesting. Her crab cakes (2) were large and tasty. More Southern Style with a little more breading (like that) than the all lump style of the Chesapeak Bay area (like that also). Good wine list with fairly reasonable wines by the glass. We liked and would recommend if you are in the Gallaria shopping or staying at the Westin

Great Easter Buffet

By TheLearnedDoctor |

We went here for Sunday Easter Brunch/Buffet. It was fantastic. We were there toward the tail end of the buffet and there were very few people. I hope it was better attended earlier in the morning. They had an Easter bunny and an egg hunt for the kids. The breakfast, dinner and desert items were broad, plentiful and delicious. We used to go to The Mercury for their major holiday buffets but we had such a bad experience at the Mercury this past Thanksgiving (mostly because they packed way too many people in) we looked for an alternative. We are really happy we tried Second Floor and we will definitely return. The owners' former restaurant, Bijoux, was our favorite restaurant in Dallas.

Great Business Meeting

By ohiostate12016 |

Excellent in every way, great menu selection and wine selection. Fantastic Service. Good location for meetings

Great atmosphere, friendly staff serving great food and delicious drinks.

By ADawson07 |

If you stay at the Westin don't miss The Second Floor. Cool bar atmosphere up front and beautiful dining area in the back. You can order a bottle of wine or champagne and finish it in room with dessert to go!

Top Dallas Chef

By MeBlonde |

This restaurant is on the second floor of the Mall and can be entered through the mall or the Westin Hotel. A nice size room and they also have a larger banquet size room. They have a large bar. The food was excellent and enjoyed appetizers and dessert.

Only had drinks at the bar

By MeganMFT |

Best martini I've ever had. Atmosphere was nice. Good quiet bar for talking. Bartender not very friendly.

Best Pizza Ever!

By Lexie M |

We came for an afternoon snack and absolutely loved the tomato basil flatbread pizza. It was plenty big to share between three hungry people! Our waitress Lexi was super friendly and very attentive. My only negative is the dessert. We came back after having dinner somewhere else and ordered the chocolate tort and it was awful. I can usually stomach a mediocre dessert, but this was inedible.

This is not your average hotel restaurant

By Dianne D |

I honestly can’t believe how good the food is here. Absolutely amazing. Favorites are Smoked Tomatillo Soup and Avocado Toast. But everything is fantastic. No need to go out as there are lots of outstanding options Bonus that they serve Diet Coke

Typical hotel food

By EllenS5507 |

Nothing extraordinary - sandwichs and typical hotel fare. Service was good.

Good options from heavy to light

By polobear99 |

Interesting menu and excellent food. Convenient when staying at the Westin and has a nice casual vibe.

Just ok

By juliemcdcraw |

I was thinking this would be a really swanky place. Not at all. The food was average but our servers I have to say, they were awesome.

Didn't feel like a restaurant within a hotel

By LTtravels2003 |

This was my first dinner out after having a baby - I wanted something fancy, but not dressy as I was still in maternity clothes. This place didn't feel like it was a hotel restaurant - nice decor, pleasant hum of activity. The staff was attentive, but not overly so. The food was good - a super yummy salad and a great chocolate dessert.

Hotel restaurant and lounge

By Cardiotron |

Upscale with savory fare in the Westin Hotel. For a hotel restaurant and lounge it is not bad. Full bar and serves breakfast and lunch.

Fantastic Food and Great Service

By BelindaWF |

I have enjoyed meals at the 2nd Floor on multiple occassions and would recommend it to anyone looking for fantastic food, great service and a convenient location. The Galleria Mall/Westin Galleria location is a wonderful place to meet out of town guests because it is a landmark.

Off night for sure

By Vickie S |

The apps were good, but 50 minutes of waiting for the pretty simple "grilled cheese for grown ups" was disappointing. The server and manager kept apologizing for the delay, but the manager said "there was a problem with the bread". Basically we finally were served a Brie grilled cheese sandwich on white loaf bread. They comped most of the meal which was nice, but it was a disappointing meal, to say the least.

Limited menu, but nice for a quick dinner

By millionmilerflyer |

Has a burger and a glass of wine. Very good, yet at hotel prices. Service was excellent, attentive, and quick.

Loved to relax and have a drink here

By Jacquelene A. O... O |

When I could take a few minutes for myself, I enjoyed having a drink at The Second Level. The service was great. The food was quite interesting, and although I didn't care for the two dishes that I ordered, it was not the fault of the chef or the kitchen. I was trying a new combination of foods and decided to try the pancetta omelet. Although beautifully presented, I didn't care for the texture of the omelet or the flavor of the pancetta. The second dish I tried was the shrimp and grits. The presentation of this dish was colorful and inviting, but (again), I didn't care for the combination of foods -- my own subjective opinion -- nothing more. Will I go back? You bet! And I will try another new dish!

Easter Brunch

By Sue4LSU |

My husband & I had a wonderful Easter Brunch at The Second a Floor today! We are fans of Scott Gottleich having enjoyed Bijoux for many years, and our meal today did not disappoint! Buffets aren't usually on my list of favorites, but we had a varied, fresh selection to choose from! Service was great. Looking forward to revisiting for dinner, or the happy hour I saw advertised!

Nice little bar

By kbqhills |

Trendy and cute. The drinks were good and not horribly priced for a city. I think I paid $6 for a Mich Ultra. It had really nice ambiance.

Popular watering hole

By Robert L |

Shared after dinner drinks at the Second Floor Bar. Very much liked the table and chair set up. Accommodates different numbers comfortably. Good size pours. Only complaint is that over time it became crowded (this on a Wednesday night) and so loud my ears hurt - db level of a rock concert.

Great Mother's Day Brunch

By Cathy S |

Great food, service, and accommodations. I brought my mother for Mother's Day Brunch to this facility. We had the best seats and an outstanding waiter. Thank you for being part of a wonderful memory.

Outstanding personnel and food!

By Dave and Nancy |

Our meals were delicious; the atmosphere is conducive to lingering over a meal. The wine list is very nice; the whiskey list in gigantic. Best of all is the personnel, who make the bar and restaurant experience much more pleasurable. Tim has been at the Westin for 29 years and cannot be nicer or more helpful. We also enjoyed being waited on by Lexie at the bar and in the restaurant and by Ashley at the bar. It is nice for people to remember your name as they did.

Very nice hotel restaurant

By Li cha |

My family and I had a great dinner at this place last night. They provide a nice upscale variety menu, topped with a great choice of good wines by the glass, and a great beer selection. Service was nice and friendly.

Great Lunch atmosphere.

By jackie049 |

The Second Floor has an interesting layout that accommodated a group luncheon and then later coffee and drinks at the bar. Manager checked on us personally. Loved the Shrimp and Grits!!! What a combination.

Just a drink

By jamesbg211 |

This is a great place to grab a drink and appetizer. We sat at the bar and watched the game and had a drink after an afternoon of shopping. Such a nice why to decompress.

Dinner

By OkieAngie |

I had the spinach pasta with shrimp, but would have the simple flank steak with fries next time (my husband had and it was good, simple and fresh). Not normally a flank steak fan, but it was really prepared well. Was ok with our 7 year old and they were accommodating to him and have a kids menu.

Excellent meal!

By V-MSanRafael |

We were in Dallas to attend the Armed Forces Bowl Game in Fort Worth. After a long day at the game we returned to the hotel and not wanting a big full-on dinner we stopped in "The Second Floor" which we thought was more of a cafe. We were pleasantly surprised. Food was excellent. Yes, it was bistro style but every dish we had was exceptional showing the care given in the kitchen. Most exceptional was an appetizer of foie gras mousse served in a small jar with toast points alongside. This was the BEST presentation of foie gras we've ever had. Creamy. Full flavor. Spreadable on the toast. Just fabulous. We're still dreaming about it but since we're in California it may be a while when we return. Sigh!

Food is average at best.

By Retired_in_MX |

This was about what I expected being in the hotel, i.e. price, selection, etc. but was expecting better quality. It was O.K. at best and there are several better choices very close by. Once here was enough.

Limited But Good

By MarshBruce |

This hotel bar & restaurant on the second floor of the Westin Galleria is open until about 11 pm. I came for a late night supper. Very limited menu. Excellent soup. Good pizza. Full bar. Funky internet connection.

Interesting choices

By beentheredonethat56 |

The beignets with 3 dips was a great appy choice and the peanut butter & bacon brownie is to die for (don't knock it til you try it). Tasty latte too.

Only if you go shopping to The Galleria

By Marco A Giardiello |

It is a hotel restaurant, with the good and bad things related with its kind. The service was outstanding, very well trained waiter, the food was simply good. The spinach salad was very well prepared, and great dressing. The pasta -farfalle- was too zesty, more lemmon that needed, the scallops were salted in excess. The place was emty, only two tables. They had 50% discount on bottles of wine. The price a little bit high, which is normal in restaurants in hotels.

Good Service Interesting Decor and Strong Drinks

By AndrewS_67 |

I recently met a group of friends here with my wife for late night drinks. Interesting decor and great service. A bit pricey, but still nice. The drinks were tasty and strong though. I would return but not go out of my way.

Delicious Shrimp and Grits

By Iris C |

This recently renovated restaurant is spacious, quiet and convenient, especially for busy holiday travelers and shoppers. On a recent visit we tried their Texas Gold Shrimp and Grits recommended by our waiter James. Great recommendation! Will be back many times.

Great for a hotel restaurant

By James A |

Great for a hotel restaurant. The huevos rancheros was great. Breakfast was a little expensive... but Corner Bakery had a power problem. Food is definitely on the gourmet-side.

Great Hotel Restaurant

By zeb34 |

The restaurant is attached to the Westin Galleria and offers a balanced and safe menu. I went there for breakfast whilst stayig at the hotel and was extremely happy with the tasty food and attentive service.

Good but pricey

By SomewhatAsian |

Service was great! Great selection of scotch, bourbon, and whiskey. Good for a late night cap. Food is good but portions are fancy & small.

Ate at the bar, food was ok

By Jacky |

It was a busy night so we ate at the bar - just a salad each and a couple of drinks. Loud, pricey and the food was just ok. Good drinks, though! Very convenient if you are at the Westin Galleria.

Most Beautiful of Amber Liquors

By Lee F |

I don't even drink scotch and whiskey and I was fascinated by the vast variety on display. My companion and I spent most of our lunch looking at the list and checking out names, prices, etc. AND the food is good. Scott Gottlieb formerly was chef-owner at at outstanding fancy gourmet restaurant Bijou. He seems to have hit his stride in this hotel based eatery. Menu is seasonal. Fall soups were particularly robust and tasty. Staff remembers you and if very pleasant.

A big thumbs up to the Breakfast entree of Chicken and Jalapeno Waffles (just be prepared for a landslide of jalapenos!)

By MJandDC |

Second Floor Regionally Inspired Kitchen is a really long name for the hotel restaurant inside the Westin Galleria Dallas. It is, not surprisingly, located on the Second Floor and you cannot miss it outside of the elevator bay and at the top of the escalator riding up from the lobby. Their breakfast menu is what you would expect for the most part. I did order the chicken with jalapeno waffles entree (that included more sliced jalapenos, candied pecans, maple syrup, and milk gravy). It was a full plate that was delivered to my table, and the thing that stood out was the pile of sliced jalapenos that covered everything. I was glad that I got both the syrup and the gravy on the side. The chicken was amazing - though I would have liked more - and the waffles were studded with sliced jalapenos as well. The flavor was great, but it was just too many jalapenos in the waffle and on top for me to finish the entire plate full of food. I also think the waffle would have been better with diced jalapenos instead of the slices (which just permeated everything and honestly made it difficult to cut the waffle). Overall I am so glad that I tried such an interesting Southern entree for my breakfast that day. I would ABSOLUTELY order it again, but request fewer jalapenos next time around! Service was fine but the food - at least my entree - was the star!

Nice place for drinks

I ate at The Second Floor for dinner. I was in a party of 10. Neither the restaurant or the bar was very busy when we arrived there at 6:30, but by the time we left at 9:30, the bar area was packed. The food was okay, at best. I, along with 3 of my friends, all had the Shrimp & Grits. It was 4 nicely cooked shrimp, on a bed of pureed "cauliflower grits" with some garnish on the top. It was flavorful and the presentation was nice. Another friend ordered the Flank Steak with fries. It was delicious and cooked to order. If I ever go back, I would definitely order the Flank Steak! The service was fine, until they got busy. We felt a little ignored once the bar was busy. I would recommend this place for drinks or happy hour or if you are staying at the Westin Galleria.

Nice place for happy hour

Comfortable, casual atmosphere. We enjoyed it for happy hour. Our waiter was great at recommending a nice wine.

Overpriced

Breakfast was too expensive. Got French toast, couple pieces of bacon, and Coffee for $30, not including tip. The food was good. I would have preferred the coffee in the hotel room, but there was none. The service was fine.

Excellent drinks and appetizers!

We loved this bar with its great service and ambience. After our conference, we happened upon this 2nd Floor Bar (aptly names) and spent some quality time in the very comfortable leather seating! Great drinks, very friendly staff and very great happy hour prices. Look forward to cooming back and seeing this wonderful staff!

I went back twice

Look at this menu and you will see dishes that are approachable and unique. CFL(obster) sliders, hunter pizza, shrimp and grits, everything was rich and simply flavorful. I only wish I were closer to return again soon and try another tasty delight!

Fantastic selection of Single Malt Scotch + some Bourbon and Irish offerings!

Besides Trinity Hall, this bar has the greatest selection of Single Malts in N. Texas that I've found. Excellent - all areas of Scotland as well as some Japanese.

Great Breakfast

I had the eggs scrambled well, bacon Crispy and fruit. I didn't realize that they would charge for the coffee. So, I was a little disappointed in that. But, I would eat there again for sure. I heard the lunch was good with lots of options. Maybe next time I will eat lunch there.

Good breakfast

This has your typical Westin menu. Service was good. I did get turned away this trip as they were at capacity and told me that the kitchenwas really backed up.
