Always best

By Lorenzo L |

Been coming here ever since they opened. We have known the owner since way before this place. Never have gone wrong with Secreto. We are delighted to see his restaurant always busy after the natural slow beginning all business have. The quality has remained to notch after years all these years. The original chef is still there too. If you are ever looking for an upscale dining experience in Kendall, Secreto is where you need to go.

Ecellent Italian food in Kendall

By Nori S |

This place is so good! Both food and service are excellent. Pastas are fresh and there's always a variety of dish options. It is a small place so you might need to wait a little. How to improve: maybe consider opening on Saturdays for lunch?

Love all around

Everyone seemed happy from staff to patrons. The food was excellent, great variety an escape from the typical. Diego was a great tour guide.

Good First Time-Second Time Fail

By OPSilver |

The first time we went there the food was good, the service was good and we left feeling satisfied. We went back a second time a few weeks later and the surprise was that they change the items in the menu on a regular basis and we were not able to eat what we were expecting. Their written menu is too restricted and then the waiter starts reciting all these specials they have - by the time they finish you cannot remember the first item they described. Somehow I prefer to read a menu instead of listening to it - on the other hand you do not really know the price of the dishes they are reciting unless you ask and that is also quite embarrassing. We ordered a risotto that we had to send back, the pasta dish I ordered came with short ribs meat and the taste was so strong that I could not finish it, the third dish was also pasta but the amount was better described as an appetizer not an main entrée. Unfortunately, the second time around was a total disappointment. We have not been back since.

Nothing Better!!

By nacholalo |

Homemade bread, a very assorted selection of plates creation of the owner with unique flavor and taste. Reasonable pricing and personal dedicatoon of the owner Mr. Dover make this place special where you feel allways welcome. Ossobuco and crab my favorites. Desserts also have to be mentioned. I will definitely come back!!!

Best place in Kendall!

By Mv4449 |

I have been dining here since it first opened. As a matter of fact, my family makes this place our go to place for all special occasions. When you arrive at the strip mall where Secreto's is located you can't help but wonder about all the great reviews. However, as you enter through the doors, you are transformed into elegance in dining, while being welcomed in as family. The decor is softly lit and surrounds you with beautiful pieces of art. (My daughter painted a beautiful painting of an orange for them and they actually had it professionally framed and it hangs proudly on the wall). The staff ensures that you feel at home, while also making you as if you were royalty. The food is also exceptional. Their prices are not cheap, but you get what you pay for and then some. I must confess that I have never ordered from their menu, I always look forward to hearing Dover (one of the two wonderful owners) recite the specials. By the time he's done, my mouth is watering and I'm usually torn as to which one of the amazing specials I should get. This is true gourmet dining, yet the servings are quite generous. We have always left feeling very satisfied and extremely happy with our experience. Enjoy!!

Most Go!

By Daniela M |

I went with my fiancé and another couple, I order the crab cake for appetizer and I can't stop thinking about it it was so delicious. For the main course I order Fettuccine Mare Monti without the truffle oil, my fiancé order the special of the day which was pork Ossobucco with risotto. The presentation was incredible and the food was amazing, you can tell every thing was fresh and good portions. For dessert with were so happy with the food that all of us got different desserts. I got the molten cake which I still dream about, my fiancé got the tiramisu which it was to die for and my friends got the cremebrule and the mango cheesecake which they were really good. Overall this is a MOST GO Restaurant.

Great food, wine and service. The staff was very attentive and the dishes were very well prepared and tasty. Will definitely be going back.

Poor experience at the Secreto Restaurant

By Guillermo U |

The menu selection is limited and the restaurant is overpriced. The food isn't good. They took a long time to bring the order because they are pretty disorganized. One of the entrees was cold when they brought it to the table. When we complaint to the manager about the food he did nothing to solve the problem. If you want to get your money's worth, go somewhere else.

Birthday dinner

By jm7701 |

Went here for my birthday for the first time. The reviews were generally positive so I decided to give it a try. We were able to get a table immediately, which was surprising since it was 830pm on a Saturday night. I don't know what some people were complaining about it being pricey. I found the prices in line with the quality of the food. Well, there's always Olive Garden. But I digress. I had the Osso buco, which was tender and perfectly cooked. My wife had fettuccine with pesto and lobster, also fantastic. They had a very good wine selection also. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars? The dessert. I ordered the creme brulet, not good. It was grainy and not well done. Would I return? Probably. Don't know if I'd order dessert though.

Business Dinner

By Bernd S |

Quaint small restaurant in a shopping strip. The service is outstanding, very attentive and they have some very good off the menu specials, it would seem everyday. The ambiance is very nice, not veyr loud but a bit dark but otherwise very cozy. The food was outstanding we were 5 in our busines party and everyone raved about the quality and taste of the food. And the prices are quote reasonable. Difinitely a place to come with the family or just a night out with you significant other. Absolutely a must go.

Everything is soooooo good!

By A C |

I had the pleasure of attending a birthday dinner with my girlfriends here! The atmosphere is intimate and tasteful. The food...oh the food, is unbelievable. The specials were amazing, we each had one. Surprisingly, they had a crisp Moscato Di Asti & the homemade Nutella Cheesecake w/ marzipan was mouth watering and scrumptious. I will return again & again. I intend to take everyone I know, to Secreto!

Early dinner

By Ronald |

Have been referred by a stranger, as we had dinner at La Nueva Argentina. Excellent cuisine. Perfect tasting and well balanced serving. This was an excellent referral and in return we MUST reciprocate. Ossobuco is excellent. Risotto excellent. Crab cakes, excellent. Service is good and on the ball. Good find.. will make this our second home.

It's all about the service!

By Bellcell |

The reason why small places like this one get to #1 in important cities like Miami I would have to say is the service! I felt so at home, pampered, taken care of.. They even made me laugh! This is the kind of place that you leave with a big smile on your face ! I had a salad with goat cheese (excellent) and also the veal... Completely satisfied and my expectations were exceeded. Thanks you guys for a wonderful time!

Great Secreto in Kendall

By Ralphfjr |

We tried this place after friends recommended the restaurant. And, happy we did. They take reservations - and I would suggest them since it is a small place in a strip mall. Now, once you are inside, you forget where its located. They did a wonderful job with the decor, lighting and many portraits on the walls. Now, the food was great! I had a snapper over a mashed potato with a balsamic reduction sauce that was incredible. My kids had pasta (they actually split one plate - and had more than enough). We thoroughly enjoyed this place and will go back.

Forget Coral Gables, Kendall as Secreto!

By PatL54 |

We have been to Secreto many times and have never had a bad meal. Forget the menu, the specials are the way to go. Great soups, amazing carpaccio's, mouth watering risottos and delicious deserts. Who would have thought that there would be Coral Gables style dining in Kendall. By the way, the service is outstanding. The owners are the waiters, most of the time.

Secreto- best kept Secret

By AimeDominguez |

Our family has enjoyed dining at Secreto for many years. The service, food quality, and friendliness have never wavered. We always have great food and amazing wine. Highly recommended

Secreto.....Not anymore

By Albert L |

I had the opportunity to go to this restaurant for the first time last night. It wasn't a special occasion or was I preparing any romantic scene for my wife. It turned out to be both :). Excellent atmosphere, a local flare, outstanding service and YES!!! the food was amazing. What more can you ask for? Forget the dishes with complicated names and words like "fusion", "deconstructed", 'new wave". This is great, straightforward food cooked to perfection using fresh ingredients. Try the osso buco with the tomato risotto...WOW or the Pan seared Cod with mushrooms and risotto. Also forget about VALET PARKING!!! Owner Dover Contreras will greed you at the door and will make sure that you have a great experience. I found my new favorite place and I don't have to leave the neighborhood. Highly recommended.

Secret place.

This place is little known, but is quit the surprise if you have a chance to visit. The food is outstanding. It is very small but clean and cozy. The service is excellent.

Best Restaurant in Miami

By Ester M |

My family and I have enjoyed the best food, wine and deserts for many years at Secreto. The ambience and service are exceptional. The personalized attention of the owners, Dover and Luis, makes any dining occasion an extraordinary experience. My husband and I visit Secreto either for lunch or dinner at least a couple of time per month. Last week we had the best lobster thermidor for lunch. We have designated Secreto as the best place to celebrate any occasion with our family and friends.

Great food great service great people!!

By Manny Abrante |

Thé restaurant was very nice, the food was excellent and the service was great. The size is small but it’s worth it the best thing calamari which is great. This would be a good restaurant selection.👍👍

I could not tell

By Augusto A |

The place seems to be very nice; BUT if you are a party of two, get ready to be seated in a 3.5ft hall, with your back will be directly "facing" the door where through waiters carry the food to the tables; you have the sensation that you will sooner or later have a soup dispensed to your head... But the real reason why I give it a "Terrible" note is not because of that. The restaurant being virtually empty, I saw no reason to be seated there; my wife asked the waiter if we could be seated somewhere else; he refuse and was pretty rude at doing it. Needless to say we left, so we could not tell if the food is good

Italian with a heart to beef

By Dalton Vieira |

One of the most delicious beefs with pasta I ever saw. With a party of four everyone enjoyed very much the food and the wine.A real secret in Kendall!

Duly impressed!

By Pineapples-a-Plenty |

Thanks to Trip Advisor we have discovered another terrific spot. The location will throw you off a bit, but don't let the strip mall fool you. The setting could not be nicer. Intimate & comfortable, with a collection of tasteful artwork making for a pleasing visual. And, just as was mentioned in a previous review, the owner (one of two) was there to greet us as we entered. Dover could not have been nicer or more attentive. Perfect hospitality! He went on to be our personal server for the evening! We arrived with no reservation, and rolled the dice a bit. We sat outside & sipped a Malbec & the suggested Chianti as we waited for our table. The Chianti was delicious (my fault for not listening ... had to have the Malbec)! Shortly thereafter, we were escorted inside ... Dover recommended the crab soup. Amazing! This was a non-cream based soup, and was one of the best I've ever had. Next up were our entrees. The short rib was spectacular. This was served with a delicious risotto. The salmon was fantastic. And we enjoyed several more glasses of the Chianti. The entire experience was superb! The Trip Advisor phone app works perfectly well, and after reading about Secreto, we set out to discover what is a highly recommended experience. The secret is out, and we will definitely be back!!

Great food. So so service.

By ladyred183 |

The food was really pretty great. They have an exceptional salmon carpaccio there. Their champagne risotto was fantastic. Tonight it was served with a rib eye cooked medium rare. And their pear pasta was delicious. They are rather pricey, but probably worth it for the food. The service was not impressive...but not terrible. The waiters were rather attentive at first, but quickly they all forgot about us. There is not one specific waiter for a table so everyone is just kind of walking around. The appetizer took a really long time to get to the table and the entrees took even longer. When we attempted to wave down a waiter no one came to talk with us. Finally we were able to let someone know that the entrees had already taken over 40 minutes to arrive and he just wanted away. The food did come out shortly after but no one acknowledged or apologized for the wait. Once eating, again, not one of the many servers stopped by to ask how things were. Luckily the food was very good and therefore we did not require anything. Worth a visit, but not if you are in any rush.

Excellent

By masaccio |

We came here for lunch after our first couple of choices turned out to be closed. Lucky us, because the food was excellent. My clam linguine was subtle and deliciously favoured with none of the over-powering cream sauce I associate with much Italian-American cooking. My wife's gnocchi were also excellent and the mozzarella went with it very well. Second bit of luck was that portions were not enormous, so we had room for dessert and had some great tiramisu and zabaglione. Service was very friendly and quick.

Great experience

My husband and I went here on a dinner date. The service was great, friendly staff, and great food. Will definitely come back again!

A true hidden treasure. A real gastronomic secreto

By Orietta B |

I was invited by a good friend who is a chef and the experience was excellent. Good service, good food and a cozy environment. I recommend the ossobuco, the risotto and the fettuccine with seafood. A Colombian owner with a true knowledge of Italian cuisine. I have been in Italy and el Secreto holds authenticity. I give this restaurant 👏👏👏👏. No reservations on weekends. Arrive before 8pm and get your table quick.

My favorite spot! Always my go to. Food is heavenly and service is out of hand. Truly recommend this especially for date night.

The serve is always excellent

By Elizabeth Guerrero Miami Realtor |

I am very disappointed with my visit from yesterday. I do not like to provide bad reviews. I went with my friend to have lunch to celebrate my birthday. I ordered white fish that came with a sauce and ceviche as an appetizer. When you go to a Highly scale restaurant it doesn't matter what you pay as long as the food is good. The fish was hard but I did not say anything about it and so was my friends. As we were walking out the restaurant, we did mention that the food was not as delicious as it used to be. I went home and my stomach started feeling sick and I barfed my food. Today I am still sick to the stomach. I call my friend and she doesn't feel well either. I call the restaurant and ask for the manager to express my concern. He said he was the person who took our order and we never mentioned the fish being hard. He was not nice and I realized I had paid $115.00 for lunch and get sick. I just informed him that I will never step foot in his restaurant again.

Repeat experience

By Robert L |

I had just arrived in Miami from a trip and wanted a familiar but quality meal. Secreto was the right choice. They have been able to keep the quality if both their kitchen and service at a very good level. Worthwhile experience.

Fourth time here and I will not return.

By cocgroveMiami |

I must have sent a dozen friends to Secreto based on my previous 3 visits. Even though this restaurant is quite out of the way for me, I kept on coming back. This time around it was a complete disappointment. I called for reservations and reservations are not accepted. When we arrived it took a good 10 minutes for us to be acknowledged. Then we waited for at least 45 minutes. The service was super slow, they are understaffed. Not enough waiters. They took a long time to take our orders and even longer to serve. If we wanted refills on our wine and water we had to hunt down the staff. The escargots were tasteless. Cardboard with cheese on top. The meat lasagna was charred. The pasta of the lasagna was hard. We left half of our meals uneaten. What we did eat was because we were very hungry after such a long wait. Never to be repeated. If you want a decent italian restaurant in Miami, go to Fratelli Milano in downtown. I can have better italian food at my own home.

service and food

When you first come you can not picture that in this small place you will have a service and food equal or better than in any 5 star restaurant. EXCELLENT, can wait to go back

A Toast to Tasty and Tasteful!

By faubel |

Tucked in the middle of a strip mall, this unpretentious looking establishment is a hidden (and very affordable) culinary jewel. There is no phoney / fake "European" style service, just genuine service; the kind that is elegant but not intrusive nor bothersome. It is a small place with limited seating so getting there on time matters or making a reservation and sticking to it. The flavor of everything being served is beyond normal. It's as if you realize that everything else you eat has not taste, or you forgot what it was supposed to taste like. The place reminds me of being overseas, where the ingredients are fresh and not processed, where they are grown and picked daily. Very satisfying to the palate and the eye, for the presentation is unpretentious but elegant. Highly recommend it.

Pretty good overall - just pricey for the area, not many menu options but rather specials

By FIUPANTHER |

We just visited this spot for our first time in Dec. Restaurant is small and it seems that many people visit this place often as the waiters are always greeting everyone personally and they seem to know their clientele quite well. This is a positive. I always like going to places where people know you etc. While this is true, the waiter assigned to us was average. He didn't make any special efforts to get to know us or interact with us on "that level." Then again, it was our first time there. Food was pricey for the area. Service was quite slow. I ordered a glass of wine and they didn't ask me if I wanted another glass for quite some time. Plates weren't huge but just the right size. My wife ordered a tomato bisque and I thought it wasn't as creamy as other bisques which I have had before (although it was tasty). The menu is rather small but I'd ask for the specials. The problem with asking for the specials is that you don't really know what price will be charged. I have been to other fine dining establishments where (at least) they tell you the price for the specials. I would suggest the restaurant tell its clients what the charge will be so that they are NOT surprised. And yes - there is a way to do this. On another note, this place is decorated nice for the holidays, dim lighting, and pretty romantic. I love the art work on the walls.

Beautiful dinner

By Martika R |

First time visit at this great little local restaurant. Service was super. The atmosphere very pleasant. The food was amazing! The fusion of the dish options is quite interesting. The plate options is quite diverse, even when the menu shows limited dishes, the daily specials are multiple and the alternatives are varied. Nice combo of Caribbean and Italian fusion. The dessert was amazing. Worth the visit!

Excellent Hidden Gem

By Asados El Torito |

Went tonight on a tuesday, in couples had a great time, the food was excellent and the personalized attention was even better. Must try the food is amazing. I ate a fettucini alfredo very tasty the chicken tasteful. Also even though eating pasta I felt full but not the bad bloating feeling you feel you eat any pasta from the any franchised restaurant. We a drink not sure the name but its like a sangria its a must try.

terrible experience poor service very unfriendly atmosphere owner very cold and indifferent.

By Suzanne O |

Had lunch at Secreto's today for our 53 anniversary. I had been there before and wanted my husband to enjoy the food and the warmth of the waiters. WELL, WE WILL NOT BE GOING BACK. The waiter, who we were told was the owner, was UNFRIENDLY, COLD and took forever to take our order. My husband asked if he could have the dinner filet and the waiter/OWNER SAID YOU DON'T WANT TO PAY $35? We didn't care. I had the veal scaloppini and it was very tough and dry!!!! They did not charge for the veal and gave us complimentary dessert. HOWEVER, we would have preferred to have had a a better waiter and service EXPERIENCE than to have the poor food and quality of the whole dining experience. I was sooooo disappointed as I had had two previous wonderful experiences.. SOLUTION.....DON'T LET THE "OWNER WAIT ON/SERVE YOU!!"

The best Restaurant in Kendall

By MoisesKendall |

My name is Moises, first visit. Arrived in time for our reservation & were promptly seated. Relaxed ambience. Omar was very well versed, informative and helpful, attentive to detail without overwhelming. Our wine was obviously well kept before presentation, and our filet mignon steaks were exquisite. Definitely shall return soon. I highly, and without reservation recommend Secreto.

Always Great!!!

By Cesar G |

My wife and I are regulars at this hidden little gem. Luis, Dover and the staff treat us like family making every dinner special. Food is fantastic!!!

Good food and service

By Manuel B |

The dishes served are well prepared and tasty, but at the time of our visit -this may have changed by now- the choices for pasta were not many.

Secreto's secret is excellent Italian in Kendall

By Aaayron |

Normally, for Italian fine dining, we would head to Il Gabiano downtown or somewhere in the Gables, but we live down South and wanted somewhere closer to home to try. Since we kind of got tired of Devon and even Chef Adriana's has become hit or miss, we thought we would try something new. And that brings us to Secreto. Located in a little strip mall, across from the big mall on Kendall Drive and 117th ave, the first thing you notice when you walk in, is all the Italian inspired artwork covering almost every space on the walls. A little busy, but the white linen table cloths and the intense waft of roasted garlic in the air makes you forget about what is on the walls. So let's get to the good stuff. We tried the cream of Spinach soup, which was not very creamy at all. In fact, it was quite thin, as in made from a chicken stock base. But it was very good, just not creamy. The chopped Caesar salad was crisp and cold. Very nice. For mains we had the fettuccine fruite di mare. Fresh pasta, cooked perfectly with tender morsels of calamari, scallops and clams with a couple of colossal shrimp thrown in for good measure, all tossed in a delightful marinara (29.99). We also had the veal Osobuco. Super tender, without being over cooked, served over a bed of Risotto Malanese (33.99). The Risotto was rich, creamy and perfectly complimented the Osobuco. Service was attentive and professional. If I were to give some advise to the owners, it would be to have a few of the wonderful wines on their wine list available by the glass. The only wines available by the glass were the house wines. But we will be back again to try something else. And the prices are very reasonable. By the way, as we left, around 8:30, the place was packed on a MONDAY NIGHT.

Soooo disappointed !!!!!

By Anider |

Had heard about this place and wanted to try it. Was in the area with my daughter and decided to have my birthday lunch with her here. My daughter had gnocchi with marinara sauce. The sauce was ok but the gnocchi were over cooked. I had the cream of asparagus, which had nothing special to it. Then had the pork loin with risotto. The risotto was good but the pork was raw !!! Didn't notice at first because it was wrapped in bacon and had a smokey flavor. I though the pork was smoked, and with lights dimmed you really couldn't see well. I still had my doubts so asked the waiter if the pork was smoked. He went to ask the cook and came back saying no. I then told him they had served me the pork raw and he responded by asking me why I hadn't mentioned something before and I told him I thought it was smoked and to please inform the cook of what had happened. They didn't say anything else, they didn't apologize, they didn't give me a discount, they didn't call the manager. It seemed they didn't care. When they brought the bill I asked to see the manager and asked him if he had been informed, he said no. So I told him what had happened and he took care of it immediately. He explained why the pork was served like that. He was very nice and attentive. I expressed my intention to pay the bill in full, since I had eaten it. But the manager gave me full credit for my plate. Kudos to the Manager for handling this issue like a true professional and going above and beyond.

Great food in a suburban strip-mall

By Mark S |

It was worth the very long drive. Extremely fresh seafood - the crab ravioli was great, as was my wife's veal. I don't know if this is the best in Miami, but it was very good for anywhere. About $100 for two, including wine.

Among the best in town

By Papapeyi |

I could finally found a place to eat without stress and noise! Secreto is a tiny restaurant with an incredibly good service and excellent food. Italian food surrounded by Cuban paintings and the best service in town. Not cheap, but worth the experience! Thank you, guys...we had a splendid night!

Dis not get the secreto

By BiminiSea |

Just good food. Did not see anything special. I will be back for more. Food, service and ambiance was as expected.

Reliable

By Dale D |

Although we are only able to make the long drive out to west Kendall Drive every 6 months or so, it is always worth it to eat at Secreto. This is a small neighborhood Italian, in a small strip mall, but it never disappoints. Our visit this time was marred by a big crowd, slowing down the service and delaying our salad 30 minutes, which explains the 4 starts instead of 5. There are usually appetizer and main course specials announced but I usually go for the excellent Osso Bucco Ossobucco – $33.99 Veal shank braised with wine and vegetables served over risotto alla Milanese. Most of the main courses are either pastas or veal and all are ample and tasty.

Great original Italian food!

By Greg6987 |

Great from start to finish. Service is very attentive. The menu is always changing with daily specials that are very creative and delicious. Osso bucco is one of the best I've had. Their risotto is always very tasty. Must try spot in Kendall.

Samll place with great food and service.

By acostajorge44 |

The place is small and in a strip mall but don't let it fool you. Their service is great and food is very tasty.

Way too expensive

By natty1225 |

Liked the place. Waiter very well trained and knew what he was doing. Very knowledgeable of the food. However menu is very very limited. Its an italian restaurant and have no lasagna or veal or eggplant parmigiana .. Lol. No spagetti.....!!!! 4 people almost 300.00 And it is in a shopping center. ! Dont think i ll be back

Always a pleasure

By Robert L |

Was spending one night at home and arrived late at night and was picked up by my son with whom I wanted to share a nice dinner. Restaurant was full on Saturday night but we were finally able to obtain a table and started out with the signature bread. After a while we received our bisque of lobster topped with a drop of sherry. Soups at Secreto are to die for. We had one wine, some pasta and desert. As always the quality was the best.

Fine dining in Kendall

By Globegal |

We are glad we had an early reservation as this tiny restaurant fills up. Because of its small size, however, the tables are positioned too close together. It's difficult not to overhear others' conversations or have yours overheard as well which can potentially be awkward. That being said, service was good although we felt a tad rushed and had to tell the waiter that we were 'not in a rush'. Food good too but small portions and a bit pricey.

My favorite Restaurant in Miami

By rosavega2014 |

This is an excellent restaurant, the food is amazing, it has a great wine list and the chef is basically willing to make you what you want. The atmosphere is great and the service is fantastic. I strongly recommend this restaurant.

Perfect

We really loved this place, the food was perfect, the service was great and a very relaxing atmosphere ,it was one the restaurants that we enjoyed the most in Miami.

Excellent Food and Service!

By Zuri Pellon |

They treat you like family here, not just a customer. The food is delicious and the service is phenomenal. Our servers, Carlos and Diego were warm and courteous and gave us fantastic recommendations. We've dined here several times and it's always a great experience. And if you like coffee with a twist, try the Bon Bon. Perfection! Can't wait to go back!

Excellent!

By Andrea C |

Came based on TA reviews. Ordered a special of lemon dolphin. The dolphin was prepared with a light lemon, wine, butter sauce. It came with fresh vegetables and potato pieces. A small house salad was also served. Dressing choices were limited with oil/vinegar or the house dressing ( another oil/vinegar dressing). Portion was ample. Service and decor were great! Place is small and reservations might be needed on the weekend. Price was $20 per person.

Excellent

Visited June 21, 2015, is a little restaurant in Kendall, very good ambiance, service was excellent, servers very attentive and courteous, food was even better, pasta is home made. will go back any day, little bit pricey but is worthy.

second look convinced me

By Gerardo P |

I live close by and tried them several years ago and was disappointed. So when I read some good reviews online I decided to take a second look. It started with the size of the crowds outside waiting for a table, that was the first good clue. The service was prompt and polite, the food was even better. They took the South America-Italian hybrid and added a Latin twist to created great tasting and unique dishes. The wine choices and dessert also did not disappoint. There are few choices in this area of town for fine dinning (without having to drive to Coral Gables), but now we can add this one. I am coming back, good job Secreto.

Top restaurant

Excellent Italian Restaurant

By gthomeng |

One of my favorite while in Miami. The staff is very attentive, friendly and always trying to please you. The food is excellent. I had one of the specials of the day and don't regret asking for it. It was a delicious champagne risotto with osobucco. Just perfect. My sons both asked for the pear pasta and it was a winner too. My husband asked for the fillet which was cooked to perfection. We had a very good time and delightful evening. One tip: go early or make reservations. The place is quite small, although very charming, and it is always full.

A must in Miami if you enjoy Italian!

By RochelleP692 |

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner with a customer. Started with a nice bottle of Italian white wine. Sorry don't remember the name. They brought wonderful fresh bread with dipping oil and herbs. Had a special of the day, tortellnni made with light truffles and a butter, cheese sauce. After the first bite of this scrumptious dish, I took my time and savored each bite! I truly enjoyed this meal, the wine went perfectly with the meal. My customer enjoyed fish with pasta and ate every bite as well! I understand my customer visits this place often and everything there is delicious!

So delicious

The pasta was amazing. Both the pasta and the sauce we so lite with fresh ingredients. The ceviche special appetizer was full of flavor and plenty for two. Packed at 9pm on a Saturday with a line out the door, this place is no longer a secret! Best Italian food!

Finally Kendall has something special

By Lauren S |

All I have to say is Champagne Risotto. The place is hidden in a shopping center but that's the beauty of it. Very attentive and helpful staff. I can finally say I found a good osso bucco in the mediocrity of Kendall. The Fettuccine Mare Monti is also very good. I don't recommend their house wines opt for a bottle instead. I'm excited to try the rest of the menu.

Good Service, Excellent Food

By GMS721 |

Just had dinner at Secreto. The place was packed and we had to wait 10 minutes. We ordered pumpkin soup and a fish in garlic sauce suggested by the waiter. The risotto was special. Quality food beyond expectations. Altogether a wonderful experience.

Love it!

Secreto is a very special place. The food is delicious. Every entry is just perfect. The service is amazing. Great dining experience.

Let me tell you The Secret

In: A Smile Inside: Blend of olive oil, balsamic, peeper, and hot basket of bread with a Wine Menu show that You are the anfitrion!!! Insalate and Soups: Fresh and smoothe flavor is the beggining. Pasta: Is cooking right now, mixing aromas to place on your plate. Dessert: Is more than sweet. Bill: you pay and come back before you think. Out: You write this very good review.

Wonderful experience - needs to be enjoyed by all.

By AMW2016 |

The waiter had no hesitation with a custom request that was not on the menu. The atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming. The staff are experienced and dedicated to your experience. The meal exceeded exceptions on all levels. Even the after meal coffee was superb. Put in your list as a must experience.

Good food, classless owner

By Mari A |

A group of 5 Went for dinner on a week day where we all had pasta. Very tasty indeed Very nice ambiance however I prefer more lighting Although none of us wanted dessert, the Italian owner ( don't remember his name), brought a piece of cake and five spoons. As the plate was placed in the center he said "try this and let me know what you think guys" The dessert was in the bill! Never went back

A Tropical Twist To The Traditional Italian

By Robin A |

My husband and I are big gourmet Italian diners, and this is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is fantastic with often times a little tropical twist to the traditional Italian cuisine, and the chef makes it work. It's unbelievably delicious.

A gem in my backyard

By Diangelas0802 |

I went to Secrets for my daughters birthday. Since it was six of us I arrived on a Friday by 6:30. My daughter learned of the place on Checkplease show on PBS. The service was very good, everyone works as a team. The food was esquite. The price is fair but not cheap because the place isn't cheap. I would definitely return.

Great Lunch surrounded by local art

By asora10066 |

The restaurant is located in a strip mall on Kendall Drive. Once you go inside, you are eating inside a gallery; the ambiance is very pleasant and there are paintings of local artists all over the walls. The service was great and the staff was very pleasant. The food was very good starting with the soup, a very tasty carrot ginger, perfect for a cool Miami day (64 degree day). I ordered the risotto special with chicken for my entree. The flavors were excellent and the chicken was tender, very well prepared. If the risotto would have been al dente, the restaurant would have received 5 stars for my review but the rice was a bit over cooked. Nevertheless, the food was great and I would definitely go back.

TERRIBILE TERRIBILE TERRIBILE

By giomar54 |

Usually i m very concerned when i live a bad review but this restaurant deserve e huge bad review ,stay away like the plague i was visiting kendall and i wanted just some good pasta ,i looked at trip advisory and this restaurant came with almost 5 stars wow i tough i scored been italian from ROME , born and raised 18 years on the restaurant business so i guess you can say i know italian food. Well i always judge restaurant from the first impression and it wasn't very impressive, a lots of table in a cramped space kind of stuffy and claustrophobic i asked the waiter for the wine list ,terrible selection ,watered down vino for huge price i asked for a california sauvignon ,terribile , wow i wanted to walk out then we ordered ravioli thinking that pasta made somewhere else should be acceptable they where out after place g the order it took them a good 10 minutes to tell us . i guess the kitchen do not know the word 86 and no communication we decided to order something else we decided for fiocchetti ,and a penne frutti di mare when i order the pasta i asked the waiter if the penne was al dente he answered , looking down at me ,off course is freshly made ,terribile lie the pasta was limp cooked in advance completely soft and mush ,swimming in a sauce made with cream the shrimps where dry and overcooked TERRIBLE the fiocchetti was stuffed butterfly ,sort of ravioli, with pear and cheese it could be eaten for dessert it was completely sweet TERRIBILE after i complained about the pasta the waiter shrugged his shoulder and he left it in the bill TERRIBILE in my establishments if a customer is unhappy i apologize and remove the item from the bill . and i might add ,if the customer is really upset i just compliment the meal TERRIBLE the place is not italian nobody in the restaurant knows anything about italian traditions and food stay away run like hell and keep this thing as aSECRETO so he can close soon 120 usd down the drain

The Secret is Out

By JBlanc197 |

We had to pull more than a few strings to get a table for four at Secreto on a Saturday night. Arriving at this restaurant located in a small neighborhood shopping center is underwhelming to say the least. Entering, however, put all our senses at ease. The dining room is very well decorated with paintings by local artists, and all the tables are dressed in white tablecloths. The maitre'd was very warm and welcoming, and seated us right away. The other service persons made sure we had olive oil, balsamic vinegar, bread and water in very short order. The menu and wine list were large enough but not extensive (as you would expect in a small restaurant). The selections were priced from the low $20s to $40s for entrees. We ordered a bottle of Malbec from Argentina which was reasonably priced. For an appetizer, the burrata with tomatoes was the choice. a slightly smaller than a racketball came with three slices of tomatoes with prosciutto. The burrata was so fresh that it seemed to have been made the same day. The tomatoes were somewhat small and undistinguished. The cheese was worth the price of admission. The entrees varied from filet, to risotto with shrimp, and osso bucco. The osso bucco was a special which came on a bed of wild mushroom risotto. At first sight, I was surprised that the meat was not the dark reddish color usually found on a braised meat dish. Upon tasting, I was immediately won over this more natural version. The meat was fall off the bone tender and the taste was delectable, yet light. The real treasure lurked beneath. The risotto upon which the meat rested, was absolutely and definitely one of the best I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. Risotto is often too mushy, too sticky, too undercooked, too overcooked, too bland. Well, this one was cooked just right, was creamy but not clumpy, and the flavor was unique. The mushroom taste was prominent, and the small pieces of mushroom were soft and fresh. I was blown away by the whole dish. Having tasted the risotto with shrimp, it was equally well executed, lending evidence that the kitchen is adept at one of the most distinctive Italian dishes. After completing the satisfying meal, we ordered creme brulee, strawberries with zabaglione and a special dessert featuring a guava pastry with ice cream and dulce de leche (caramel). The creme brulee was pedestrian at best. The custard was somewhat grainy instead of velvety smooth. The other two desserts were another story. The zabaglione was expertly made and the combination with the cut strawberries were so creamy, smooth and flavorful that you did not want it to end. The pastry was for those that need and yearn for an extremely sweet dessert. It was unapologetically decadent. All in all one of the best all around experiences for the price.

Excellent food and great ambiance

By Tony |

I recently had dinner with a few ex-employees and I must say that we had a great time. Our food was deliciously prepared while our servers took good care of us. The choice of wine was ample to couple with our food. Not a big restaurant where people get lost, but a restaurant that feels like family.

Outstanding service

By Henry D |

OMG I went last night with my wife Claudia and she was shock with the customer service of the Manager Dover , I knew that because I was his customer in another restaurants 10 years ago, is impressive to see how Secreto can offer you a consistency in their service and food quality, place is romantic, price is perfect, location is perfect you park right in front of the place! YOU MUST GO and try once. Henry

Always on top

By Robert L |

Secreto has been a favorite for the past several years. Service is always good as is the food. Went to lunch with the wife and we had two main courses because the maitre d' forgot to take our soup order. So we had no soup and I really wanted to have the tomato soup. Life is like that and I missed the soup but decided against complaining about it. The main course was delicious as was the cortadito. Life is good at times. As always I will return. They have kept the quality of their fare.

Always the same quality

By Robert L |

Been eating there for years and they have always kept the level of quality and service that I have always known. Food was excellent, service was good and on an overall basis I was satisfied as was my guest. Never disappoints.

Disappointment

By Robert L |

Went to lunch with my better half. I review their work as often as I go there. Last time must have been an off day for them. The off menu items were listed by the maitre d' and no explanation was given to as yo the content of what was ordered. It was ravioli and the explanation was poor and I did not ask enough questions. I don't eat veggies so the meal was a great disappointment. My wife was happy with her lunch. Advice is ask, ask and ask for details as to content of what you order.

Outstanding (as usual) we dine at Secreto quite often. Their friendly service is always 5star.Very nice & quiet ambiance

By tata1215 |

Superb friendly service, nice ambiance!Soups are always so fresh and good tasting. There's always a fresh fish on the special menu as well as a meat. For us it's our 5 *****italian restaurant in Kendall area!

Date night

By LilTeach |

Had a wonderful dinner with the hubby. Tasty food, good service. The prices were okay. Next time, we will buy a bottle of wine instead of by the glass. It ends up being less expensive. Will visit again.

Amazing restaurant!

By Leslie A |

This restaurant has it all! It is in a small strip mall in Kendall, but could easily be a top restaurant in Sobe! We have eaten here over 5 times, and have never been disappointed! The chef knows how to make soup for sure. Every time we come it has been mind blowing! The tomato soup will knock your socks off! The carpaccio, the ceviche, the fish, the pasta, the fillet...everything is great. To top it all, the service is exemplary. The owners are busy and always making sure everyone is well taken care of. The servers are very knowledgeable and prompt. I can't say enough about this place. So just do yourself a favor and go!!

excellent

By hlcole2 |

a wonderful neighborhood resturant. They are as accomodating as they can be. i have gone there 4 times and the waiter remembered what i ate the time before. the food is wonderful and prices are fair.

Too expensive and it's ok :(

By Guille R |

My wife and I are Italian and picked the restaurant base on reviews from Google. Service it's great and the place atmosphere is nice. Menu is very small. Plates are small. My wife order linguine with shrimps and they served (3) medium shrimps for $25 !!! and was just ok ... Sorry not worth it

Secreto no longer a secret

By RayMiami |

I heard that a few people from Caffe Di Notte Restaurant had gone on their own and open this new Restaurant called Secreto so I decided to visit and see if they were as good as were they came from. Secreto is no longer a secret the ambience is just right, the service excellent, the wine was rich and smooth, and the food was excellent. We had the zucchini with goat cheese sounds waa but it was WOW!!!, then I had the yellowtail special and WOW!! again. I can recall my wife's plate because mine was that good no need to look at hers. We had no dessert we were that satisfied but the people next to us were raving and sharing theirs. Not an inexpensive place but worth every penny.

Outstanding!

By mwooduk |

Outstanding service, amazing food and the Osso Bucco was so tender and went perfectly with the risotto. The burrata appetizer with the blueberry sauce and mint melted in your mouth! Highly recommended!

Amazing .......

By oscarf0809 |

We frequent Secreto quite often, and every time the chef comes up with new and amazing dishes. Today it was the risotto with Blue Cheese and pears "WOW" The atmosphere is a combination of family but also the décor and lighting makes it a romantic place for that special someone. But the true success is the amazing service the entire staff displays. Upon sitting down no less than 3-4 persons are preparing your bready with olive oil fresh grated cheese and a little balsamic. Water is being poured and the final person is asking you what you would like to drink. After dinner there is no one pressuring you to leave Definitely a must

Always good and consisitant

By Gerardo P |

Great high quality food for this neighborhood, though on the high side of expensive but we've returned multiple times and they continue to impress.

Lunch

By Robert L |

Invited by a freind and business partner, lunch was just great. We both ordered and off menu item proposed by the Maitre D’ and it was two sorts of raviolis in the same plate. One was lobster sauce based and the other one was meat based. It was just excellent. As the entrée, not main course but appetizer, they had salad and zucchini soup. Did not even like the idea so I had none. But I must admit that their soups are usually excellent but zucchini I did not find inviting. So the main course (not entrée) was the two raviolis which were better than good. As desert I ordered the crème brûlée which was cold so I only ate some and not all. Total it all I had a cortadito.

Nice departure from National Chain restaurants in the suburbs

By frez |

Our party of eight came to Secreto for an anniversary celebration. We were greated promptly. Although the place was packed, the service was very timely, prompt and corteous. The place is small, but does not feel cramped. The walls are densely filled with paintings, (very nice btw) but is does not feel overwhelming....The menu is limited to two pages, not a lot of selections, but the plates of the day are as extensive as those shown in the menu. The maitre walks you thru and describes the daily special options with precision.During our visit there were at least two addtional appetizers, two fish dishes, two pasta, and other meat options. We had the calamari with vodka sauce and blue cheese which was really good. Not your typical batter drenched calamary fritti. The crab cake had a good flavor, and the presentation over baby spinach and a light but tasteful relish on top. The crab cake, although properly seared, it was a bit cold inside, suggesting that maybe it should have been taken from the fridge a bit earlier to let it come to room temperature before pan searing it. I ordered from the daily menu, crab filled ravioli with a lobster sauce, topped with two shrimp and wilted baby spinach. The filling not very generous, but the taste was there, the lobster sauce was more like a bisque poured over the top. Very good flavor but wish it had been thicker. The two shrimp were a bit overcooked, and the pasta was al dente. In all a good dish.My wife had one of the daily special, a crepe with chicken and provolone cheese. A decent dish, but nothing to write home about.Others in the table ordered Osobuco over champagne rissoto, a bit salty for my taste, and rissoto a tad overcooked, but good flavor overall. Other dish ordered was Pez Perro which got good reviews.Desserts: molted lava cake and tiramissu not impressive.......In all, good alternative to chain restaurants in the West Kendall area, when wanting to have a good dinner. With almost half a bottle of wine per person/shared appetizer and shared dessert, the bill came up at about $50 p/p after tax.

Neat spot for lunch

By Pineapples-a-Plenty |

The menu is always nice, and the atmosphere inviting. They are a small restaurant with interesting original artwork throughout the restaurant (which is for sale). All this makes for an interesting location. On this day, our waiter was not the best. His English was not very good at all, and we had a tough time communicating. They had a nice mixed salad with chicken, and we enjoyed their house wines, which were very good. Will definitely go back ... great chemistry, just will ask for a different waiter.

Intimate & Outstanding!

By travelstuff4us |

At the last minute we decided to try this small Italian place as we have been wanting to for a long time. Since all tables were taken when we arrived, we had to wait for about 15-20 minutes, but it was well worth it! Excellent food and outstanding service! We had a quiet table in the back and even though other tables were nearby, we barely noticed or heard anyone else. This is a top notch restaurant with very attentive staff, We will definitely return, but will make reservations first next time.

Delicious and Cozy

By mwooduk |

Came here for a business dinner last night; the service was fantastic and the food was delicious. It's very warm and cozy and until last night, I had no idea this restaurant even existed as it's tucked away in the corner of a little shopping center at Kendall Drive and 117th Avenue (SE Corner). They do take reservations. I had the shrimp and mushroom risotto, it was delicious and a side salad to start. Daily specials for both appetizers and entrees were announced and all sounded fab. It is not inexpensive, it is fairly high end with most entrees over $20+++ Everyone enjoyed their food and desserts were great too - the standard Creme Brulee, Tirimasu etc. Very enjoyable evening, and hope to return.

Dinner and gallery

By analuidens14 |

Excellent food, very good sort of wine, the gallery and best of all the service is the perfect combination that Secreto creates to pamper you from the beginning till the end, highly recommend.

Wonderful, inspired, savory, cuisine.

By MKDFLA |

I have been to Secreto twice for business lunches. It is amazing. I live Palm Beach County but when I am anywhere near Dadeland Mall area I will make a special effort to eat at this wonderful establishment. The ambiance is Old World elegance and the food is amazing, fresh and spot on. Both times I got the special once was a pasta dish and the second was a risotto dish. Both were superb and of the highest taste palette. Really high regard for this restaurant.

Classic Italian

I had the fortune to have gone to this restaurant for lunch, and was very pleasantly surprised. From the appetizer to the espresso, everything was GREAT. From known disehes to home made creations, and great service make the place a "MUST" for those in the area. For me its a 40 minute drive but its worth it. Keep up the good work.

The Best Kept Secret in Miami

This extraordinary restaurant is by far one of the best dining experiences you can have in Miami. If you want to enjoy a great meal and great service this is it in spite of the fact that it is located in a very unassuming strip mall.

Our family's go-to restaurant in Miami

By Nicky D |

We've been eating at Secreto for years now, and the food and service are truly unparalleled. From birthdays and anniversaries to graduation dinners, we celebrate all of our milestones here because we know that it will undoubtedly be a perfect meal from beginning to end. At Secreto, your every need and want will be catered to. Highly recommended!

Secreto is a hidden gem worth discovering.

By kcbbill09 |

We found Secreto by accident - it was around the corner from the Holiday Inn where we stayed. We read no reviews nor recommendations from friends. It was just convenient, and it turned out to be wonderful. We had veal, lobster ravioli and seafood fettuccine. The veal was as good as we have had, but the lobster ravioli and fettuccine were the best. But, we four agreed that the best was an appetizer that we ordered just to have something before the entrees. Zucchini with goat cheese sounds OK, but it wasn't - it was outstanding and nothing like we expected. Don't miss this one. In addition to delicious food, the service was attentive, friendly, professional and helpful. The atmosphere reminded us of a nice New York restaurant - intimate and appropriately elegant. Highly recommended.

Excellent all the way !!!!!

By gigilec |

The service was impeccable. We were served like we were the only ones in the restaurant. The food, was absolutely incredible. We were 4 people who ate 3 different meals. We tasted a little of everyone's meal and everything was perfect. The food was very well presented and sooooo good. There is a good variety of wines to choose. The house wine at $30.00 was a great buy. It was very good. Don't hesitate to go eat a meal at this restaurant. You will not be sorry. Thumbs up !

Quaint and Different

By SPAREMOI3675 |

Came here with my husband on a Friday evening (at around 6:45pm). The restaurant was small, but very well staffed. We were sat down immediately upon arrival. The waiter quickly came and explained the menu items and the special of the day. We were brought a basket of bread and our drinks within 5 minutes of being seated. We had three different waiters assist us, one lit the candle on our table (which i thought was a nice touch), another would refill my husband's beer. They only had one type of beer (italian), and according to my husband, it was quite good. The menu was quite limited: about 5 appetizers, three salads, and maybe about five or six main entrees. The food was good, served hot, but nothing that was really memorable. We started out with the fried calamari, which were just okay. Really light batter, but it felt as though something was missing. For the main entree, I had the fettucini with Osso Bucco in their white truffle oil sauce, and that was different. This was a recommendation from the waiter, as I believe the fettucini comes another way, and the osso bucco is served as a separate entree. I would have liked something like a shrimp scampi, but I guess the change was good. My husband had the Penne alla Puttanesca, which had marinara sauce. I felt his dish tasted better. For dessert, we had the creme brulee and a cappucino. The Creme brulee was delicious (although I'm yet to find one that beats the one at Smith & Wollensky). The cappucino was a bit dark for my taste, but my husband enjoyed it. I'd definitely go back just for the service, but I can't really say that their menu or food really wowed me. It was okay, but the service did exceed expectations which I was I am giving them such a good rating. Be careful on Friday evenings though, by the time we left (around 7:40pm), the place was already full (it is quite small), and a wait line was forming.

Superb

By Robert L |

Everyone loved it. There were seven of us and everyone except the critic loved it. The negative comment was that the sea bass did not taste like sea bass. Everyone else was happy about their meal and the service was rather good. Not up to usual standards.

A new favorite restaurant in Miami!

By David F |

I was invited to dine with a very good friend and his daughter at this special Italian restaurant. The owner himself served us and with my friend's repuration as quite a connoisseur of fine restaurants in the area, I had high expectations as he often touts Secreto as one of his favorites. We started the meal with a couple appetizers - shrimp wrapped in plantains and crabcakes. Absolutely delicious!! The fresh bread served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar was a fitting accompaniment. Although I was dying to try the heralded Ossobuco for an entree, I deciced to go the healthier route with the Sea Bass and I was not disappointed. For dessert I opted for a scoop of vanilla ice cream with chocolate and a decaf cappucino. Everything about the experience - the food, the taste (their signature Italian with latlin flair and a touch of exotic), the service, the ambiance - was superb! I can't wait to return!

COZY AND DELICIOUS FOOD

By Elizabeth Guerrero Miami Realtor |

I went with my family for dinner. The food was exquisite and the service was excellent. The creme brulee was to die for. I highly recommend the restaurant.

No reservations!

By Orlando9808 |

I made reservations at 9:30pm for dinner with my wife. When I arrived on time, the nice lady attending at the front informed us that reservations were only for them to have an idea of how many customers they would be having that night, but that it was a first come, first serve basis. I was upset. My wife looked at me like she wanted to leave. I wish they would have informed and I would have arrived at whatever time was convenient to me, not the two choices I was given when I called which was either 6:30 or 9:30. I rushed my wife thinking we would be late and when we got there we had to wait about 15 min. We were lucky to find a few chairs while we waited. Buy everything else was great so I gave them 4 stars.

I did not gave the soup of the day but the rest of the meal was quite good and the Creme brûlée and the cortadito topped it all off. Service is truly good. It is not excellent but good. And as always, the food was excellent.

First time the charm but not the second

By AutumnRose2014 |

I was told by a family member about how good the service was and how delicious the food tasted. Well, I went and I was really impressed when I went the first time. I ordered the pumpkin raviolis and it was to die for. Not many restaurants have this kind of dish and it was amazing that I loved it. For dessert I ordered the chocolate mousse and again I was impressed. It didn't taste heaver or thick. It was light and fluffy and I wanted to keep eating it because it was really good. So I left with satisfaction and with an open mind that I will go back and order the same dish. Unfortunately the second time didn't go to plan. Apparently they got rid of the pumpkin ravioli because not many customers were ordering and the chocolate mouse was just the special. That did upset me because I was excited to have the same meal. In the end I decided not to come back because of the price and not enjoying my dinner that night.

Great food and ambiance

Went on a double date with another couple who had been before. Arrived around 8pm on a Saturday night, the place was full but we got seated immediately. Though the restaurant is small, the decor is warm and inviting with colorful paintings decorating every inch of wall space. Nice and intimate, perfect for a date night. The staff was polite, knowledgeable and attentive. Our orders were taken immediately but getting the main course was a little slow. I didn't mind because I had great company and was entertained with my wine and bread. I ordered the filet mignon and it was perfect, my husband ordered the ossobucco and it was very rich and tasty. For dessert, I ordered the creme brûlée and loved it, my husband ordered the Oreo cheesecake and enjoyed it as well. Overall, I had a very pleasant dining experience and would return again.

The specials seem to be the way to go. We had the filet special with risotto and vegetables. The meat was with a lite gravy. The risotto was excellent. The vegetables were still crisp. A soup or salad was included. The house salad was rather small and heavy with vinegar. The Caesar salad was excellent. A basket of warm bread is also brought to the table. Service was prompt and attentive. The tab for two was $50. Which included tip.

This is a real secret in Kendall. Food is delicious and the service is excellent. I would definitely recommend .

Always Good

By Robert L |

Went with the wife and we had a wonderful lunch. We rarely go there for dinner as lunch is our main meal of the day. Quality was constant and expected as was the service. The lunch was very good cause of the company, the atmosphere, the food and the service. A repeat performance but a great pleasure.

“Nice departure from National Chain restaurants in the suburbs”

Pretty good......

Well, I’ll start with the good things ......the food is very good....service very good......ambiance really nice....location and parking good.....now the reasons I left 3 stars ~~~~food is not served hot ( we were too hungry to give it back)........portions are small......dinner is not serve with salad ......when a pasta dish is $25. I think you could include some lettuce 😟The menu and wine list is overpriced..let me explain ...this is a very nice place and the food is good but I think it’s about 20percent higher than it should be.....I don’t expect a $9.99 special here, it’s not a pizza 🍕 place .....but, I don’t think any small pasta dish should be should be more than $18. or $19. Buy the way they charge $89. For a bottle of Cakebread Chardonnay.......will I go back?.....I’m not in a hurry

Awesome!

This was our first time here and we went for our 1st wedding anniversary. Absolutely delicious, and my husband is not an italian fan. He had the special which was the pork chop. It was awesome. We will be back.

A Beautiful Lunch

We found an exceptional restaurant for lunch tucked away in a small strip center. While the interior was unique and appealing, it was the food and service which made it exceptional.

Best of the Best

The service is outstanding, the food excellent, specially the Champagne Rissotto and the Guanabana Flan. Congratulations Tito the Chef!!

So happy i stumbled on this Secreto!!

By Ann J |

Two friends and I were in the mood for Italian on a Sunday evening. We were in the Jendall area and so "yelped" and "zagated" for a while. Secreto was a few blocks away, the menu choices looked interesting and so we decided to check them out. Well...were we in for a surprise!!! First came the steaming hot bread with sweet balsamic vinegar and olive oil dipping sauce. So hot and fresh was that bread...and yummy too! I was in the mood for risotto and fortunately for me Secreto has risotto. And they make it vegetarian (though not vegan) or with shrimp. It is a mushroom based risotto and let me tell you it was GREAT!!! The mushroom flavour just came out so very perfectly and the texture is so moist and chewy and smooth and creamy and dreamy and yummy. I had the risotto without shrimp. One friend had the special catch of the day, the snapper which, he said, was excellent as well. My other friend had the risotto with shrimp. Everyone was more than pleased. The portions are more than satisfactory and we struggled to finish. But finish we did because none of us wanted to leave one morsel of the yumminess on our plates. For dessert we had creme brulee and zabaglione with strawberries. Both were fantastic! Very well done Secreto! I will definitely be back.

One of the best restaurants in Miami

This restaurant was as great as the restaurants in Coral Gables but nestled in Kendall! Fantastic! If you are looking for an amazing place to eat in Kendall, you need to check out this secret gem.

Good things come in small packages!

I've visited this place several times and has always been great. I love the pumpkin ravioli's, the crab ravioli in lobster sauce, and their risotto. And they are calling me back just writing about it. Great place, excellent service by owners themselves, and I highly recommend it.

Always a superb experience

This Kendall gem never disappoints. The menu changes weekly. The food is always creative, fresh and delicious. Good wine selection and excellent service and attention to detail.

A very good restaurant

By Penny D |

We went there for lunch yesterday and had a very good experience. I had veal piccata and my husband had linguine with white clam sauce. Excellent hot bread and a salad began the meal and my husband had zabiglione for dessert and he commented on how good the coffee was. Service was excellent, attentive without being cloying. We were happy with the portions. We didn't leave hungry and there were no leftovers. Kind of pluperfect! Prices not bad.

Dinner with Friends

By nibaldom2015 |

We have dined here on several occasions, and this restaurant is not only consistent but always reliable. This food here is amazing and considering all the chain restaurants around this area, not only is it refreshing but absolutely a great option for fine dining. The hostess was friendly and the waiter and service was great. I recommend reservations especially during weekends. Enjoy.

Great location for couples

By Lumamel98 |

I visited this location last year, and I though it was ok, but my wife and I were there last week and we left very happy. The service was great, and the food was excellent . I ordered a fillet Mignon and was cooked to perfection according to my request (medium-rare). My wife ordered Mahi Mahi with Rissoto which was also outstanding . The desserts menu: great selection and loved our pick. I can't remember the name but it was layers of cookies with Nutella.

Great gem ....but!!!

By Ja Bu |

To be honest the restaurant, the food and the service were amazing, but where I draw the line was the price. We paid 200 for 4 where it could of been in the gables or a ritzy place in bal harbor..not in a strip mall in kendall. I really don't believe that for the price of the meals reflect on the location, but you have to be the judge of it!

By saritasiman |

The food Bisou very good but very pricy!!! The people arnica, ambience isn’t ok. Nothing special. You do need a reservation.

We left hungry

By Andrea C |

Portions are ridiculously small. The Caesar salad was served on another butter plate! It was actually about 7 bites. That is a joke for $9.00! The crab ravioli was 4 small stuffed pieces with two shrimp on top. The ravioli was $24. Dinner for two w/o drinks was $75! We left and went down a few stores and had a big Dairy Queen sundae. Will not return.

Always a pleasure

Always a pleasure from the moment you arrive, during your whole meal until you leave. The food is very light and of excellent quality.

Small rest.with great taste

By pbrussi |

The restaurant is very small and we had to wait 20 minutes to get a table. They don't take reservations Friday or Saturday. The customer service is excellent . Food was well prepared and I was Satisfied with the presentation. I found some

My all-time favorite

By Travels with Fran |

My husband and I call this place "Old Faithful". When we don't have anywhere particular to go and just want delicious food and service, we come here. It's like coming home. The owners treat you like if you are their long lost relatives and are so happy to see you. We never order from the menu (I don't think I've actually seen it), because there are so many specials that are great. I recommend making reservations, although we've never waited more than 20 minutes for a table without them.

Great Food, Better Service

Secreto provides a quiet family atmosphere with an eclectic elegance. The food is creative and flavorful. It is the kind of food that is deliciously satisfying and yet keeps you wanting more. The servers are attentive and detailed without being overbearing in the least. This place is a true gem.

Perfection

The service is great. If I asked for something it was given to me in about 2 minutes. The food is incredible. I will be going back very soon
