They do not respect allergies, dietary restrictions, or people

By Shayna M |

Horrible! They do not respect allergies, vegetarians, or give you what you ordered. I called ahead and spoke with the manager before I came here to eat and told him that I was allergic to canola oil. They said they only use Olive oil exclusively. I came there and again told the waiter and was still served canola oil. I told them I was vegetarian and asked for the stuffed dates but without the meat. I said it several times and still got it with the meat. It took a long time to get my food so I asked for everything to go( this was a big order) I got home and did not have three items. I called back and the manger did not apologize or replace the order. I do not recommend this place. They are not respectful. The food was ok.. the food that I could eat.

You must try the kenefe ( dessert)!

Kunefe to die for! Took my mom to try Turkish food after my return from my recent trip to Turkey. Kunefe was fantastic and vegetarian couscous absolutely delicious! Friendly and hospitable service!

Service is always slow

We have been to Selda several times. It is close by and the food, wine and patio are fantastic. You could easily have a meal off the small plates alone-which we have done. The bread that comes with the hummus is unbelievably good. The kebabs are great and the salmon dish is just wonderful. Great wines. Not a huge selection and they are heavy on the Chardonnays, but the wines are good. Hookah pipes are available on the patio too. What is always lacking is the service. Every time we have been we have been ignored, forgotten, dismissed for a larger more lucrative table. While i see servers running it seems we never get that individual. Wine and water glasses sit empty. Empty plates sit. It's a shame because the kitchen does a great job.

Amazing all around

Hidden Gem!

The most incredible food and staff!! I always make sure to eat here with friends when I'm in town, and it just keeps getting better every time. The staff are so kind, personable, and fun. Definitely go on the nights there's live music- wow!! Wonderful, relaxing, and fun vibes, even a little dancing! The food is delicious, and I love how you can share plates. Try the Baklava- best I've ever had! Highly recommend!!

Nice place for group / date night

We visited this place on Saturday , November 28,2020. We had a reservation although wasn’t needed since there were many tables empty that night. Service is great and fast. Very friendly waiter. The food was great, and the cheese platter is a must.

Felt like an authentic dinner in Istanbul

By mshbnyehud |

Imagine. Stepping into a packed, vibrant restaurant gem for a fabulous experience, surrounded by the smells and tastes of a neighborhood Istanbul bistro. We decided to go with several small plates rather than main dishes, and were not disappointed. The flavors are exceptional. We started with a unique lentil soup, with the lentils pureed. Yes, the soup could have been served slightly hotter. The Saksuka eggplant cold salad, shared with complimentary steaming hot puffed Turkish lavash bread, was so delicious! Only the hummus was slightly disappointing, needing just a dash more salt to bring out an otherwise wonderful presentation. Service was amazing, considering the place was packed even at 8 p.m. They've hired enough persons to make sure tables are quickly turned, but you never feel rushed. There's an open air deck where diners can enjoy hookah pipes without the odor wafting indoors. Can wait to return and try any number of main dishes next time.

Good food, weird location

While visiting family in Dallas, a relative suggested this place as he frequently eats there and we enjoyed the food and the atmosphere (we sat outdoors both times). The lentil soup was delicious as was the lamb grill that we got. My husband got the cig kofte and liked it very much. The arugula salad was also great. The location is kind of awkward as the patio faces a parking lot and 7-Eleven.

Selda, best Mediterranean food.

The best food, true Mediterranean vibe. Best place in Texas. My favorite food, atmosphere and amazing service.

Incredible food experience right here in Dallas, TX

Excellent fresh authentic Turkish cuisine made to perfection upon your order. We had Lahmacun (Turkish thin pizza with ground bee topping), Urfa Kabab (ground beef), Ali Nazik (pieces of tender cooked lamb/ beef cubes over mashed eggplant). They were the best in all of TX. And the famous Turkish tea & the amazing chocolate cake were the cherry on top! Excellent & friendly customer service by the Manager Mr. Volkan & his staff. Thank you for making my daughter's birthday celebration at you wonderful restaurant such a great experience to enjoy & remeber the whole year.

Great food

Fantastic food. Everyone was very gracious and ensured we had a great meal. From the fried cauliflower, garlic shrimp, cheese pide, and chicken shish, everything was so flavorful and delicious.

This place is epic

Incredible food and vibe! Highly highly recommend. The mixed meat platter is a must. Try the Turkish flan! It’s incredible…. 💯 out of 10

Would absolutely dine here again

The wine and sangria weren’t great, but I highly recommend the fried cauliflower. I loved the chicken shish. Next time I would have it atop the chickpea mixture that’s served with the salmon. That would be the perfect combo!

Don't miss out on this culinary delight! Delicious Mediterranean cuisine!

Our monthly "Ladies Lunch Out" group visited the newly opened Selda Mediterranean Kitchen and Bar in Irving. We had 16 in attendance. The food was mouth-watering delicious. Plentiful servings! Delicious entrees The naan bread and hummus and tzatziki were the best I've ever had. The atmosphere is bright and welcoming. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Full service bar. The executive chef came over to meet us and ask us how we were enjoying our food. I look forward to taking my family to Selda in Irving. It has risen to the top of my "favorite eateries" list!

Perfect Dinner Experience

What can I say about this place? The food was amazing! The prices are great! The staff is super friendly! We visited Dallas from Oklahoma and found this place via their reviews. They SHOULD definitely be 5 stars across the board, they deserve it. I had the beef shish and my husband the lamb chops, plus we split the hummus. Everything was so good and the best service. If you have not been, you need to go! We will be back.
