Fresh and flavorful Peruvian Cuisine

By Helén P |

Dining at Señor Carbón Peruvian Cuisine was a highlight of our Seattle trip, easily ranking within the top two meals of the week. (The culinary experience throughout the whole week was good.) The dishes were fresh and flavorful, the coctalis were tasty, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and dedicated to authentic Peruvian cuisine.

Finally real Peruvian food in Seattle

Finally the real deal for Peruvian food, there are other good Peruvian restaurants but I finally found the taste I missed so much.

First Time Peruvian!

You have got to try Señor Carbon. The menu has so many options. The service was impeccable. I had the Pasta con Langostinos and my partner had Lomp Saltado - both were amazing. They also have a pretty extensive cocktail and wine list. I highly recommend the Maracuya Sour.

Just ok restaurant

Causa de pollo (chicken sandwiched in mash potato) was ok ….fried yuca with tartar was run of the mill nothing special …. Arroz con Mariscos ( rice and seafood hot plate) was too salty with no discernible aroma or taste

Excellent Peruvian food restaurant. The delicious ceviche and the delicious octopus. The service is very good. I highly recommend it

When I saw a Peruvian restaurant while visiting Seattle, I knew I had to visit and I am ecstatic that I did. We visited for a lunch. The restaurant was clean and well-decorated. The staff was extremely friendly, polite, and accommodating which made our experience fantastic. The food was out of this world delicious - it was the best lomo saltado I've had outside of Peru. They had a great selection of food and drinks on their menu. I highly recommend this restaurant and would go back in a heartbeat! I realized (too late) that you can get a 10% discount here if you present your ticket from the Seattle Beneath the Streets Underground Walking Tour.

GREAT FOOD

Ceviche and the Arroz con Pato was off the charts!! Arroz con Mariscos was phenomenal. The Alfajores cookies were great too. We need to visit Peru.

A Hearty Recommendation

The staff was friendly and solicitous. We all enjoyed our dinners. They have a nice selection of wines to complement the meal. The grilled octopus was very good for the main and the chocolate cake an excellent desert.

Not for me

I didn’t have a good experience. Our reservation was somehow lost and we had to wait for a table, the dishes were very underwhelming, almost tasteless, we just packed everything up and gave the food to the homeless outside, and went to a bar to drink and eat something. Service was nice, that’s the only plus.

I'd come back a thousand times.

Loved the food, loved it. I tried stuffed cause and sautéed loin, I'll be back again. I recommend it, there are a variety of Peruvian dishes.

Wonderful restaurant

Very very tasteful experience. We were 8 Pax on this Saturday night, and everyone enjoyed the food. We recommend this place for those who are ready to walk into new fields of tastes.

Peruvian with a flair

Japanese influenced great Peruvian fare. Piscina sour well done. Excellent Ceviche, Lomo saltato was very nice. It’s a very simple bistro well worth a detour.

A meal with ups and downs

A new Peruvian place in town? I had to test it! Some dishes were delicious (e.g., the grilled octopus). Despite asking for a ceviche sans onions, I got one with... And it was not nearly spicy enough. So that one was a miss. The causa nikkei was delicious, tho. What really bugged me, is how slow the place was. No wonder, as there was a single person in the kitchen and the person in the front room was not the fastest either. However, what bugged me most was the small portion size paired with a hefty price. $45 for two two tiny plates? Come on! Not worth a repeat, unless you have a lot of time to kill.

Senor Carbon, Super Yum!!

We found this great Peruvian food experience with a Japanese twist around around the corner from our hotel in Seattle. What an amazing surprise to find some of my favorite Japanese foods spiced with Peruvian heritage, too! The hamachi sashimi (hamachi en crema de aji amarillo) was super fresh and served in in a very delicate sauce. We ate the hamachi and used a spoon to finish the sauce. The croquette, Crocante Nikkei, was SO good, my husband said the chef could Beat Bobby Flay with this コロッケ 'Korokke'! We also loved the passion fruit juice and the yuca and plantain fries.
