Wow, had researched vegan options and walked from downtown to find the restaurant. We were seated and helped in a really nice way. The food is so exciting as they mention a Tex-mex alignment which is exceptional. Had the mac n cheese as well as a burrito. The flavor is so exciting and each mouthful such a treat. Wow! Loved it and even though I am only in San Antonio for two days have to return as loved it that much.

Señor Veggie is hands down the best restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. It doesn’t matter if you’re a vegan, vegetarian, or straight carnivore you will love this restaurant. I recommend everything on the menu honestly, but especially their tempeh “meat”. Every time we visit the menu is slightly different because of changing seasons which keeps it fresh and exciting. The broccoli mash potatoes are a perfect side to any meal. Every single menu item is fresh, heathy, and not of all flavorful.

Just heard about Señor Veggie recently, and today got to try it out. My husband and I had a late lunch of the Black Bean Nachos, Creamy Polenta, and Sweet Potato Wedgies. So delicious! The nachos were piled high on the plate, the best homemade chips ever; the polenta with cashew creme and sautéed kale was like comfort food; and the curry ketchup with the sweet potato wedgies was fantastic. Service was excellent, and the atmosphere was bright and light, nice on a cold, rainy day. When we got there it was way past the normal lunch hour, and it was almost empty, but before we left it had started to fill up again. Looks like a very popular place - I can see why!

Four of us went here last week while visiting San Antonio on vacation. Our server was very sweet, and helpful with any questions we had about the menu and offered suggestions when asked. We tried the SV black bean burger, the broccoli stir fry, the black bean nachos, and the street tacos. All delicious. The nachos were on the appetizer menu but were the biggest serving of all the dishes, actually the biggest serving of nachos I've ever gotten. We had no complaints about anything on this visit. We were the last customers of the evening and they were closing up, but we never felt rushed at all. Everything was priced about $9-11. Wish we had places like this back home in Tulsa.

Easy walking distance from Riverwalk area. Very friendly staff and great all vegan food. I loved the Cactus tamales. The pumpkin muffin was just ok. I would recommend a visit. Easy street parking as well.

Well, they totally blew this time. I took my wife to she can sample this great place that I so much raved about and they had waiting for table for fifteen minutes with no attention. It was a Saturday at around noon. We walked out. I apologized to my wife.

After the Alamo & River Walk we were pretty hungry. This place did not disappoint! Everything was amazing. Vegans & non-vegans alike will love the food. My dad is a very picky carnivore & tried everything we ordered. Go go go!

We went here with a group to accommodate the vegetarians in our midst and we were all happy we did. There was a great range of options that satisfied everyone from the chips, guac and salsa, potato/corn chowder, creamy polenta, rice bowl, big green salad and eggplant torta. Beer and wine also available at reasonable prices. Our server was helpful and pleasant. Well worth the 15 min walk from the convention center, and much healthier than many of the joints on the Riverwalk.

Our first experience at this restaurant was about two years ago when my family was just starting veganism. We were here visiting and were really excited about a restaurant that was fully vegan. Since then we have traveled alot and been to countless amazing vegan restaurants so when we moved here a few months ago we decided to check it out again, but thought theres no way its as good as we remembered... We were wrong thankfully. Everything was delicious, nachos, chalupas, eggplant hogie, burritos, everything is as good if not better than the last. I'm so glad we returned here, it's become one of 5 go-to restaurants for great vegan food here in San Antonio and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

After Vegeria moved from Broadway, I sought a good vegetarian restaurant near downtown; Señor Veggie is it! Clean space, genial employees, and great service fully complement the fresh ingredients. Smoked tofu has perfect texture in addition to great flavor and really complemented the Chef Salad. Will definitely be back.

My boyfriend and I were visiting San Antonio and I saw that this restaurant was highly recommended on TripAdvisor, Foursquare and Yelp so we decided to give it a try. Food was just OK and did not live up to the good reviews that I read prior to going. We went on a Friday afternoon. Service was good/attentive but the restaurant was really warm, so by the time we were done with our meal, we were basically hurrying to get out. About the food: it's quantity over quality here. You get a lot for what you pay which is really great for vegan food but overall, I was not impressed with the actual food. We got an appetizer (Carne asada nachos), one a la carte item (empanada), and an entree per person. By the time we got our entrees, I was only able to eat 1/4 of my bowl because I was so full. The only dish that I would recommend, is the Good Karma Bowl which consists of Quinoa, Black Bean, Kale, Tempeh, Sauteéd Mushroom, Carrot, Turnip, Sesame Seeds. It was very flavorful. The nachos were just alright-- I have had better. i tried the Crumbled Organic Wheat Protein (carne asada) by itself but did not really taste the carne asada flavor. So we probably would have been better off trying the black bean nachos instead, or getting no appetizer at all. The empanada was a disappointment as well so I would not recommend it at all. My boyfriend was upset because we had to pay an extra 50 cents for salsa for his tacos. The empanada actually came with salsa but it would have been nice to be informed about that before deciding to pay extra $ for something that would normally be free at any given Mexican restaurant. His tacos came with a side of sweet potato fries which were not crunchy at all and not worth the extra $. His jackfruit tacos were >50% slaw so he was also upset about that too. I only ate them as leftovers because I was so full and they actually tasted decent to me so the tacos by themselves are like 50/50 to me.

I had the street tacos. It was loaded with deliciousness and was very filling. It was a good sized portion. The tacos were served with a side of zucchini and corn in a yummy sauce. They specialize in Texas beers. It took our food awhile to get to our table but they warned us ahead of time that they were behind a bit. Overall, I really enjoyed the restaurant and will come back.

This is a great find in Texas, a restaurant that serves fresh and creative vegan food. I had one of the Bowls (don't remember the name, it had millet, beans, and cranberries). It was delicious. We had an empanada for an appetizer, and that was great too. Just a warning that when the restaurant is completely full, you could wait up to 30 minutes for your food. We were warned about this by the waitstaff though, so we didn't mind. If you've had too many meals of meat and refried beans... this is the place to try!

Fun place with lots of funky art on the walls and a festive atmosphere. Went here with my family on vacation to San Antonio and everyone loved it--the non-vegans included! Serves a variety of dishes, not just Mexican/Tex-Mex stuff. Everything is presented beautifully and every dish we ordered was colorful and flavorful. 100% recommend!

Great selections and the food was excellent. We also enjoyed their craft beer. The staff was helpful and friendly.

I just had an excellent meal and an excellent beer at Senor Veggie. You don't have to be a vegetarian or vegan to appreciate this food! The wait staff was excellent as was the food. If you are near the Alamo, do yourself a favor and check this restaurant out!

One of the few vegan places in San Antonio. The food choices were great and the staff was friendly. The lemon cake was amazing. We will go there again next time we are in San Antonio.

If you ever thought vegan food was boring, this place will convince you otherwise. Really creative and delicious food, huge servings (too big for me) in a low key artistic setting. Walking distance from down town.

This place is all vegan! And has desserts and baked goods. Good variety of menu items from wraps and sandwiches to stir fry to Tex mex. Fun servers. We got the artichoke dip for an appetizer which I would recommend and the enchiladas and broccoli stir fry were also top notch. Affordable and the portions are enormous!

This is some of the best vegan food I've ever eaten. The carne asada wrap (made with seitan) and the black bean empanadas were both amazing. I think even a carnivore would like them. The owners were also extremely friendly. I'm not sure if I'll get back to San Antonio for another visit, but if I do, this will be my first stop!

My colleague and I were in San Antonio for 6 days for work. We both eat healthy and figured we could find a grocery store while working downtown. Boy were we wrong. Fortunately we found Senor Veggies. We'd eat dinner at the lovely restaurant and order take out for our lunches. All of the meals were superb, the deconstructed samosa, the bowls, everything. Can't decide which was my favorite. I'll gladly return to San Antonio knowing Senor Veggie is an easy walk from the downtown area.

All of the dishes I have tried are amazing!! Love the eggplant torta, nachos, taco salad, jack fruit tacos and the donuts and brownies are also amazing!! They Rock!!

We enjoyed a great lunch meal for a reasonable price. We had the enchiladas, which were pretty good. Also, the hummus plate was way big and filling. It had fewer veggies than I remember, though. Finally, we had the pad Thai. It was huge, but the peanut sauce was weak. We think that we can do better at home.

My friend brought me here because I follow a vegan diet- I thought it was going to be all Mexican food but when I opened the menu I wanted to try one of everything!! We had the poblano corn fritters which were not spicy at all, even with the chipotle mayo it is served with- and they were soooo yummy! For my meal I had a beet burger with the vichyssoise soup. The beet burger was very thin, so much so that it was hard to taste it but with the condiments and bun it was a decent meal. The soup was very good- it was creamy and had a good deal of flavor. A friend had the samosa plate which was also very good, very typical indian dish the way it was served. Another friend had the azteca bowl and she enjoyed it. I had a tofu stick with some black beans and I was happy with the flavor of the tofu stick! I also took home a cookie and had my friends try it and we all agreed that it was hard to distinguish that from a non-vegan cookie! I will be here again when I visit SA because I want to try more!!

I went to Senor Veggie with vegetarian friends. I could become vegetarian with food like this. Small quiet place in southtown. If your not familiar with southtown, this is where San Antonio's food scene really is. Skip the touristy places and come to southtown. I had the samosa plate and it was perfectly prepared and delicious. Tried the beet burger to and it was excellent. Vegetarian or not, try this fabulous restaurant.

I had heard great things about Señor Veggie and was excited to visit. Since it was only about a mile from my hotel, I decided to walk over. Their website showed them closing at 10 pm so I had plenty of time to sit, relax, and enjoy the undoubtedly delicious meal. If I had been seated, that is. Upon arriving at said restaurant, I was promptly told the kitchen had closed at 6:30. The time on my watch? 6:32. I was barred from what could be the best vegan food in the city because of two minutes. Señor Veggie and I could have both been winners that night. I tasted heartbreak instead, and they were given a 1-star review most people probably won't even read.

We found Senor Veggie on Happy Cow and decided to check it out. It was just about a half mile away from where we were staying. We decided to walk in the 105 degree heat.. It was totally worth it! I had the black bean burger with fries. Amazing! My friends, two of which are not vegan or vegetarian were also quit impressed with their food choices as well! (Jack fruit tacos and the smoked barbeque sandwich. Our waitress was very patient and gave us excellent suggestions from the menu. We cant wait go visit again next time we are in town!

Oh, everything was SO delicious! Jay was a fantastic host making us feel welcome and well taken care of. We will definitely be back!!

Best vegetarian food in Texas! Great menu full of unique and supremely tasty options. Ordered the Somosa plate, it was perfectly seasoned and so delicious, Can't wait to return!

After reading great Yelp! reviews, we went to this place. Both on plant-based diets, we like visiting restaurants that we can say, "Yes!" to most of the items. We liked the wide variety of options that Senor Veggie offered. And kudos to them for clearly marking the gluten-free items. Thank you! Service was low-key but attentive. Presentation of food was intriguingly pleasant. So, why only 3 stars--the food lacked pizzaz. We both selected dishes that should have been exploding with flavor but none of it danced in your mouth. The peanut sauce did not overwhelm but it really didn't make a statement either. The stir-fry rice was chewy and the broccoli crunchy (other vegetables were typical for stir fry consistency). The lentil chili had one flavor dominate the rest. The falafel wrap looked goopy but my husband said it lacked any notable flavors. We also tried the spring rolls but again, though using fresh ingredients, the wrap was only saved by the sauce. If a dish contained tofu, it was a large chuck of the soybean substance. Nothing unique or contributing in that. There must be better vegetarian options in San Antonio. Please note: Open Mic is Thursday evenings starting about 5pm. Now you know, in case that interests you or it is something you would prefer to avoid.

The food was yummy. We ordered the spinach queso and it was really good. I ordered the jackfruit tacos, had way too much slaw in them but they were tasty. The empanadas were to die for, we will definitely be back to try more things on the menu. We also ordered the hibiscus tea, it was good it just needed to be sweetened. We also ordered the chef’s salad (left a bit to be desired) a lot of lettuce..

A very unique restaurant featuring combinations of fruit, veggies and protein in ways I did not anticipate. Several of us shared a meal, sampling each others selections, we were not disappointed.

My teen daughter enjoyed the incredible carne asada wrap. It was huge with incredibly generous portions of seitan and hot home cut fries. Her eyes rolling to the back of her head communicated that the vegan brownie was sent from heaven - she said it was the best she'd ever had. Although, I did not eat (fasting) I will undoubtedly obsess about this delight until I can indulge. (The only suggestion I have: They should allow patrons to substitute rice and beans for fries since they are the same price on the menu and many try to avoid fried foods) HIGHLY recommend this off beat little gem.

Me and my family had a great visit here. We all had different dishes from gazpacho to puffy tacos. Everything was amazing and very very well made. The staff was very unique and we enjoyed their hospitality. This is a great restaurant for everyone. Even if you have slreserves about this food. You will find something that you enjoy. I hope to be back before I leave.

This vegan restaurant has great choices for vegans and vegetarians, and my omnivore husband really enjoyed what he had. We ordered tofu sticks with ranch dressing as an appetizer, and I had Posole Verde soup. We then had broccoli stirfry with brown rice, and I had a barbecue (seitan) sandwich with a salad. Portions were large, prices are very reasonable. Atmosphere is fun and colorful.

i really wanted to be able to give this restaurant 5 stars because it is a veg place and we vegetarians & vegans need more options like this. perhaps the staff was just having an off day, but the food was disappointing and overpriced. the $9.00 queso dip was nearly boiling (burnt my tongue) and had little more than an odd sweet flavor. the $11 tempeh tacos were a one note flavor: salt. for the price, should have been served with some fresh cilantro, lime and avocado. the zucchini, cooked in a tomato sauce, however, was delicious. mostly, the lunch prices are just over the top.

Senor Veggie is a wonderfully "local" vegan restaurant with vibrant colors, a decidedly San Antonio feel and bares NO relationship to the homogenous restaurants found everywhere. The dress is totally casual and the customers reflect the tremendous diversity of the city which is rarely found in other restaurants. The food was wonderful, the portions large. This one is worth the trip!

I am not a vegetarian or vegan but while attending a conference I went with a friend who is vegan. I was so impressed with the quality of the food that we returned the next day. Keep in mind that this is the first vegan restaurant that I have visited so I cannot compare it to others vegan restaurants but if you want real food this restaurant is worth the visit.

Check out the empanadas. They are crispy and flavorful. Further, the cucumber mint drink (with free refills) is refreshing and cooling, especially, in this 97 degree weather. Overall, The vibe is peaceful and relaxing...vegan style!!

I've eaten at Señor Veggie twice now, and I cannot give a bad review if I tried. Recently, I was there with a fellow worker, who is not a vegetarian by any standard. I ordered the BBQ Seitan sandwich, with a side salad. In a word: "Delicious." The place is quaint, with not a big deal made on fancy wall hangings, but it's a great place for vegans, and vegetarians to go while visiting the San Antonio sites in town. For desert, I got a sweet potato empanada to go. It didn't last too long. I highly reccommend

Dinner here is a little bit of a wait if you don't come at the right time. I was fortunate to get in and the food came out faster than anticipated. I tried the Falafel platter for about $10 which was a ton of food and tasted really good. I also tried the sweet potatoe fries that came with an amazing catch up. Actually, it was more like a chicken with sweet potatoes - as the ketchup was so good that I asked for more and the sweet potatoes were merely the medium to get to ketchup into my mouth. I finished it off with a raspberry cupcake that was quite delicious. I would definitely recommend taking a short trip down here. However, know that the hours on TripAdvisor are inaccurate and they close at 9 p.m. on Friday and 7 p.m. on Saturday.

Great place! Sorry I found it on my last day in town. Excellent food, great craft beer choices and friendly, capable, attentive staff. Nice ambiance, generous portions, and very reasonable prices. What else could you ask for? I don't know when, but I'll be back.

This is a great place to get vegan tex-mex in San Antonio. The nachos are just awesome as are the jackfruit taco options. Highly recommended!

Wow - so happy I found this place. Such great vegetarian / vegan food. I was visiting San Antonio for work and it was a godsend to find a place that served real vegetarian. I took non-veggie eaters there too and they enjoyed it as well. The salads were phenomenal, and the lentil chilli was spectacular. We ordered a lot of dishes, and every one was delicious. Loved the place -- casual and friendly, great service. Highly recommended!

I was happy to find a vegan restaurant within walking distance of my hotel. I ordered Enchiladas verdes and It was quite tasty. My only complaint was that it took a long time for the food to come, but it turned out to be worth the wait. I got a vegan cupcake to go.

We had the nachos which were heavenly with tempeh, beans and cashew cream. We also ordered the jack fruit dish which was delcious.

The vegetarian food at this restaurant is well-prepared and there are quite a few items to suit any palate. My husband and I enjoyed it and recommend that any health-conscious visitor to San Antonio try Senor Veggie.

There was a large variety of foods to choose from. None of our meals were bad. This is a good place to go with non-vegetarian

Goodness! that's how to describe the delicious food offered here. Words can not describe the tasty entrées. One must actually go and savor for themselves. We each tried something different and then shared and it was so tasty.....

When you think of its history and culture, you would not expect San Antonio to be a vegan-friendly place. How this happened, I don't know, but I embrace it! We used to eat on the Riverwalk when visiting San Antonio. We still do, when taking first time visitors. But when it is just us passing through or visiting, we seek out one of San Antonio's great vegan restaurants like Senor Veggie or Green Cuisine or Viva Vegeria. They each have their place and are all great! Senor Veggie offers a diverse southwestern themed menu, and is conveniently located within walking distance of the Riverwalk/Convention Center area. They make things fresh from scratch, and a downside to that is that if you come late, they may have run out of an item you want. But don't worry--everything they have is good. (I don't actually know that, but I'd make a bet on it!). The poblano corn fritters are a great way to start, btw!

Food was very tasty and quality seemed good. Service was so so but acceptable. Menu selection was somewhat limited but had enough options for a variety of preferences.

Vegetarian meals are hard to find in San Antonio. I'm glad to have discovered señor Veggie. It's menu is limited and I would love to have more options because what we had to eat was pretty good. We started with the lettuce wraps. Nice flavor with romaine lettuce instead of iceberg. Awesome! My only complaint is that the four pieces of tofu you get is not enough. The tamales compuestos were very tasty. I would definitely get it again. The falafel plate was also excellent. Both plates were big. Cons: The location is not that great as it is difficult to find parking. Limited menu

We stopped here during a brief visit to San Antonio. Good food and great service. The cashew cheese on the nachos was a little weird even for 5 life-long vegetarians, but we enjoyed everything especially the chips and salsa.

The restaurant has different hours so ensure you check their hours before making the trip. We enjoyed our lunch entrees.

Señor Veggies is the answer if you are visiting San Antonio and your visit takes you to the Alamodome or convention center. Thought it is off the beaten track - especially for tourists - you will be deliciously rewarded for dining at Señor Veggie's! Inexpensive, generous portions and gluten-free options!

The place to be if you wish to try out some vegetarian fare. While most restaurants around limit the veg options to Tofu , Senor Veggie has some fantastic assortment of dishes to treat your palate to. The menu is limited but everything tastes just heavenly. We were a group of 5 and were hence able to try out most of the main offerings. Will recommend.

My wife and I wanted to eat something on the "lite" side since we were going to be walking around in the heat of the summer and this place was perfect! The food was amazing! No wait for a table, friendly staff and the food was just unbelievably good! Recommend the carnitas and the SV burger with fries. Oh and ask for ketchup...it's legit!! Thanks SV!

The food was excellent. The restaurant seemed to be family owned, although I could be wrong. Just two opportunities for improvement: there is no changing tables for babies, and the lighting is dim, even though that was done on purpose to create an ambiance.

My wife and I ate here and we were incredibly impressed. The samosa plate was amazing. The menu is very imaginative. I cant wait to come back and try more. Also, the staff was awesome. Friendly and knowledgeable about the menu.

What a fab place. Very creative dishes which are very hearty! Delicious and all veggie. Any mexican dish you can think if and more but with a veggie state of mind. Try it!

The food was absolutely flavorful and delicious! Veggie cuisine with great flavor. I might suggest leaving the kids at home if they are not open to trying new things.

I was so happy to find Senor Veggie when I was in San Antonio for a conference. I ate there three times during my five day stay. I had killer empanadas, kale salad, and a great bowl that I can't remember the name of. The only thing I didn't love was the burger. It was kind of mushy and the sweet potato fries weren't crisp. I had a cupcake and chocolate chip cookie as well, both were delicious. And to top it off, the service was great too.

An all vegetarian and decent option amongst the Tex/mex and chain restaurants! After a long 7 mile walk along the river. (The river walk extends well outside of downtown and is quite nice.) I stumbled onto this gem in the up and coming south side of downtown. Funky local vibe with a friendly offbeat staff and a good sampling of multiethnic veggie options. I had some dal and a buffalo tofu po-boy. I was happy to find a relatively healthy option and a different world from the touristy downtown.

Everything was outstanding reasonably priced and good service! Very filling and they have desserts too.

This place was off the beaten path, but so worth the exploration off the touristy riverwalk. The food was sooo good! I had street tacos with jackfruit and a cashew creme served with housemade potato chips. I'm getting hungry just thinking about that meal. I can't wait to go back again, awesome!

We went with our two teenager kids that are not vegan, and they really liked the food. My wife ordered a bowl with quinoa and it was fantastic! The loaded nacho plate is a must at this place. We will definitely return!

I thoroughly enjoyed my order of pupusas which I think are more of an appetizer than and entree and the eggplant torta. I was very full when I left, but the food was incredibly healthy and filling. It tasted amazing and I was very glad that I went. I finished off with a brownie to go. I would totally recommend this restaurant to any meat eater!

Senor Veggie has some great Spanish Tex-Mex plant based food. I can gladly recommend this restaurant to anyone regardless if you are vegan, vegetarian or meat eater the food is excellent. We tried the burrito, enchiladas and chips with salsa. Let's just say no left overs.

We visited San Antonio during 1st week of March. We were looking for some veg/ vegan food option and found Senior veggie. My son ordered chalupa which I really liked. My niece ordered Mac and cheese which was actually bow tie pasta with cheese . It was ok. My hubby and I shared picadillo taco as I was not very hungry. It was good! It is very reasonably priced. I would love to come back and try new dishes here!

Vegan Mexican restaurant serving delicious fresh and interesting plant based food just a 10 min walk from the convention centre and meat fest restaurants of the River walk.

I look for vegan restaurants in large cities. A friend recommended this one. It’s about a mile hike from the Alamo; enough to work up a really good appetite. I had papusas. They came with the best black beans I’ve had in a restaurant and a spinach salad. Lots of food. Betty tasty. Service is a bit slow. So, don’t be in a hurry.

Conveniently located within walking distance to my hotel I didn't arrive until 8:30ish. There were several other people out walking and the area was safe. The handmade black bean burger with sweet potato french fries was absolutely delicious. It was wonderful to find a safe place to eat vegan food! The (also vegan) Oreo cupcake was very good but a little dry. I would not hesitate to go back when I visit again!

We walked from our Best Western hotel to Senor Veggie. The experience was everything we had hoped for! Reasonable prices, ample portions, great service. Our server was hilarious and adorable. Of the things we ordered, everything was O.K., a couple things were really tasty. It wasn't very crowded while we were there. I wish them the best of luck!

Many vegan and vegetarian options including a kids menu. I am not vegan but I really enjoyed the vegetarian fajitas and may try to make them at home. My daughter is vegan and she was very impressed with the flavors and options available.

On January 14th 2016 I went vegetarian. Being that I had chosen this type of diet lifestyle I had already investigated the local vegan and vegetarian restaurants. Senior Veggie was at the top of the list. The food is totally unimaginable and deliciously amazing! If the taste does not seduce you the portions will engulf you. Senior Veggie invoked me to coin the phrase "vegan restaurants and not just for vegans".

We stopped here for lunch while spending the day visiting the missions in San Antonio. The food was good, but after being outside in the hot August sun all morning I was looking forward to a place to cool down. We asked to be seated inside thinking it would be cooler than the patio. Unfortunately they do not have air conditioning, just ceiling fans with the doors open, so it was pretty hot and uncomfortable. The black bean quinoa burger was very good. My friend had the barbecue sandwich and thought it was good also. We did not really care for the chips and salsa - the homemade chips were just too thick and chunky for my taste and the salsa was kind of creamy texture and very hot. As other reviewers have mentioned, it takes a long time to get your food so I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you are in a hurry.

I stumbled upon Senior Veggie a bit by accident when I was visiting on business and was out for an evening walk but had made a wrong turn. From the outside, the restaurant doesn't look like much, it's a little in the middle of nowhere and looks like a Mexican Cantina. Inside, it has much more of a trendy vegetarian / vegan restaurant and the food is some of the best I've had. Guests have the choice of black or hibiscus iced tea which they refill all through the meal at no charge. This is especially nice since it was over 100 degrees when I was there. The menu has many options along the lines of traditional Mexican fare done vegetarian. I had a delicious watermelon gazpacho, very refreshing on a hot day and then also enjoyed the jackfruit Pupusas. Best of all, the food was very affordable, I was pleasantly surprised at my bill at the end! If ever I'm in San Antonio again, this restaurant will be on my "must visit" list.

The portions were very generous, the menu super creative and the service outstanding. Now if only jalapeños could be sprinkled on top of everything they served, Senor Veggie would have knocked our plant-based socks off. The search for “heat” in San Antonio continues. Now, it is possible that our tastebuds have undergone severe trauma from too much hot sauce, but we craved a bit more Mex to go with their copious Tex.

As a longtime vegetarian, I'm always excited to try a vegan or vegetarian restaurant. I had read excellent reviews but was a bit disappointed in person. The menu had been changed with less options than the previous menu listed on their website. The items we ordered were generously portioned but I felt that most of the dishes were bland. I probably won't go out of my way to go back. The staff was very friendly and service was excellent.

My goal is to try everything on their menu because so far everything has been fantastic. The soups are delicious. Most recently I had the mushroom and wild rice soup but I've also had the corn chowder and a leek soup as well. The poblano corn fritters are delicious and the dip is the perfect amount of spice. The buffalo po'boy is delicious- crave worthy in fact. This past weekend I tried the "Save the Tuna" sandwich- it was yummy. I would have liked it on heartier bread but I suspect that I'm in the minority on that. The kids meals have been kid-approved and all of the salads have proven to be delicious as well. If you're a vegetarian or vegan you have to come here. If you're a meat-eater, you should come as well because this food is GOOD. They serve lunch and dinner. The prices are extremely reasonable- sandwiches with sides are $8.00 or so.

Outstanding vegetarian options and many gluten free options. Black bean burger, typically boringly predictable - made oh so much better by flattening and cooking crispy. Great salads and fritters. Some entries spicy but not obnoxiously so. Nice portion size, not too much nor too little. Interesting crowd a mix of young tattoed hipsters, families with kids, and mature couples. Nice arrangement for quiet music but not a full blown band. Way too loud for the venue - we all applauded them taking a break so that conversations could actually be heard. Band acknowledged that they were loud but changed nothing. Don't know if management was oblivious or supportive. No matter, come and eat the food and if there is music, best to sit outside on the patio, Problem solved.

Amazefest! Can't wait to come back! The BEST black bean burger I've ever had! The Sweet potato fries were... just get them. Again, the BEST I've ever had. The BEST vegan brownie I've ever had, you get the picture. The jackfruit carnita tacos were good. Oh so good corn fritters! The portions are HUGE! Just come here.

We were visiting the nearby missions and decided to try Senor Veggie for lunch. The outside of the building is bright and cheerful which was a good vibe but the inside is more drab. We were greeted at the door and seated immediately. They have tables and booths, plus a small patio. The menu is not really large but has a good assortment of vegan choices. It leans toward Mexican but not everything on the menu is Mexican. We ordered a Kale Salad, Azteca Bowl and Veggie Fajitas plate. The food was ready in a reasonable amount of time and was beautifully presented. Everything was extremely fresh and delicious! We really enjoyed it and even took a brownie to go for dessert later.

My husband tried this place before I did and he was so excited to take me for lunch. Well, I loved this place and the atmosphere was very mellow. It took a while to get our food because they made everything fresh, and let me tell you, it was worth the wait. So many great, vegan options that everyone would love.

The eggplant torta was to die for. They also had a delicious calebacita as the special side that day. I tried the tofu with buffalo sauce but I despise buffalo sauce. Great vibe and super restaurant. Can't wait to go back. A bit over-priced, or I would have gone back multiple times already.

We visited San Antonio and took our daughter to lunch. The black bean burger sounded good so that's what I ordered. It was the best black bean burger I ever had! The burger had just the right tenderness, the roll was really good, and the standard toppings were a delicious medley of flavors. The serving size was generous, and I'm not a light eater!

I was visiting San Antonio in July, and was very impressed with all the varied food options available there. One of them was Senor Veggie in downtown SA. I was there on July 4th, and they had a special brunch menu, consisting of some popular vegan dishes. I had the tofu scramble with potatoes, but they also served vegan tacos, and other items. The service was nice and responsive. I didn't try any of the deserts, but the group I was with seemed to rave about them. I will be visiting here again soon.

I loved the taste of everything we ordered but to be a veggie place is not super healthy. It's okay to eat veggie unhealthy once in a while but it is important to know before going in. GREAT service ⭐️

We came here during a conference in San Antonio. Big group, we ordered about a third of the menu and shared it all. It was absolutely fantastic. Great comfort food, but also balanced compared to the mostly starchy food I'd been eating the rest of the week. Vegan po boy was my favorite. Desserts also very yum. I went back for more the next day. Prices were great. Atmosphere was cool. Was super crowded and a little slow, but so worth it. I wish I could have this place in my city. I'd never go anywhere else!

When we arrived we were told the wait would be about 45 minutes to get our food. While being disappointed, I appreciated the waiter being up front . It was worth the wait. We had the nachos appetizer and the chalupa and burger entrees. All was vegan, gluten free and delicious. Will definitely go back.

We Googled "vegan San Antonio" and were delighted to find this gem of a restaurant. The place was clean, crowded, with a wonderful varied menu and attentive staff. Furthermore it highlighted the compassionate reasons for being vegan - as well as the health ones. Check this place out - it is good for your soul, your body and your wallet.

After a week in Texas and more than our share of veggie fajitas, we were thrilled to find Señor Veggie, an all vegan restaurant in the heart of San Antonio! They have a Good Karma Bowl that was loaded with quinoa, kale, spinach, beans, carrots, tempeh, and mushrooms. Soooo delicious and healthy! My husband got the buffalo po'boy. An American buffalo 'chicken' sandwich. We also tried the potato corn chowder. Everything was delicious, service was top notch, and the refreshing home brewed hibiscus tea was the perfect accompaniment. We grabbed a baklava to go from their case of vegan desserts and our only regret was not finding it sooner. We would've returned for every meal in San Antonio!

On our way to the airport, knowing there would be nothing to satisfy my husband's fat-free vegan diet so we called Senor Veggie- they were very accommodating and walked him through the menu to identify what he could order. I had the beet sandwich with a veggie side, and I actually have forgotten what he had with a side salad. We cabbed to the place, ran in grabbed and paid for the order and headed to the airport. The food was terrific (though the bread and gotten pretty soggy by the time we got to the airport). If we return, we will definitely go back for the full experience. It seemed a casual, extremely reasonably priced place. I'd eat there in a heartbeat! The food was great and the service very sweet.

Senor Veggie in San Antonio was absolutely delicious! Casual, lots of energy and a great menu. We shared the wonderfully garlicky hummus, and the nachos look heavenly! I chose a cup of wonderful lentil chili and a portabella mushroom fajita on corn tortillas that came with well-seasoned black beans, brown rice and a dollop of spicy slaw, which I want the recipe for! The portions are generous, so the chilli went home to be reheated the next day for a super tasty lunch. They have highchairs and a children's menu, and families were enjoying their meals. It was quite busy and service was somewhat slow, but very friendly. There is a great vibe here. This is the perfect place to get caught up with a good friend over really special food. The food was so enticing I plan to go there again this weekend!

I’m fortunate to travel and sample Vegan cuisine all over America. Senor Veggies is some of the best Vegan, yet. Empanadas for starters followed by the gorgeous Jackfruit Molè. I couldn’t eat it all, so picked a decadent Vegan Brownie to go for a late night supper of leftovers and dessert. My sever was excellent and the charm of the neighborhood can not be emphasized enough. Again, highly recommended.

The Miss and I went here for Valentines this year. The wait staff were on point. Not to mention the empanadas were out of this world. Best vegan Tex-Mex we have ever had and just off the River Walk. A must stop for anyone who's a Vegan or Vegetarian. Then again it's a good place to bring those friends who aren't to share some vegan Tex-Mex that could change their minds.

We were very happy with this place, as vegetarian options are rather limited in SA. Good beers as well. Casual, funky place.

What a great place!! Staff is super friendly and punkadelic...the food was more than delicious. Atmosphere was casual and laid back. The portions are HUGE. Two of us ordered the black bean nachos as an appetizer then we each had an entrée and we had enough leftover for full meals next day. Flavors all so good and fresh!!! Cool selection of beer as well!! Highly recommend.
Not enough good words
We heard of Senor Veggie quite coincidentally, and I'm so glad we did. Our lunch at Senor Veggie was easily one of the best meals I had while in San Antonio. I had a kale salad with a side of their falafel balls and my friend had the black bean burger with sweet potato fries. The food was scrumptious, ample, and beautiful in it's presentation. The service was friendly and prompt. The exterior and interior is quaint but welcoming and lots of natural light fills the restaurant. If I lived in San Antonio, I'd easily dine there at least once a week, maybe more, and I'm not a vegetarian either.
