There isn't a lot of authentic Korean food in center city Philadelphia. For that you have to travel to the outskirts like Upper Darby and Cheltenham. Seorabol does have a location near Cheltenham and it's one of the longstanding outposts for authentic Korean food. Other Korean restaurants in CC have opted for a more fusion style. Seorabol Center City does what others thought not to, but it was a hit for my two non-Korean companions. We were at the Loew's hotel for a training and decided to make the 10 minute walk to try it out. They were both very pleased. There is a small (4 or 5 item) lunch special menu with everything $10 on that menu. We had two stone rice pots (dol sot bibim bap) and one noodles in black bean sauce (jjajang myun). The side dishes were very good and their stone pot dishes were quickly consumed. My noodles were a little undercooked, but otherwise very enjoyable. And for a meal in the city, walking out having paid a $12-13 for a hearty lunch makes my wallet happy.

Service was excellent. Food delicious and quick. Great experience. We had the Jaeyuk Bokkeum- Spicy stirred fried pork with vegetables and Dduk Gook- Traditional rice cake soup with noodles. The fried dumplings were great as well. The waiter was great and didn’t let us over ordr. The portions are generous and flavorful.

While exploring Philly, a Korean friend that’s a local, brought me here, a must stop restaurant in Philly where I could try Korean authentic food. Well, it was Delicious, the service was also great, and we had a overall Great Time. Highly Recommended!!!

Bella was fantastic! The food was outstanding. We did it pre-show and it is so close to parking and walking distance to Broad Street where the Academy of Music, Kimmel Center, etc. I told Bella "the food is so good, I want to Scream! I had the Dolsot Bibimbap with beef! It comes in a heated bowl! I took a video of it sizzling! I love the sides you get as an appetizer! I told Bella "the food is so good, I want to Scream! It was a wonderful experience!

Nice cosy little Korean place located in downtown. In a small group of shops so look for the sign. Food is good but not as spicy as I like so had to ask for a kicker. The Ban Chi was good if skimpy- just 4 dishes. Service was correct and quick. I’d go back.

Never ate in a Korean Restaurant. Solo dining. They were friendly and welcoming. The food was awesome. After a cold rainy night, the steaming and bubbly soondubu hit the spot. With all the appetizers, there was no way i could finish the meal. Would love to come back.

Very good food and service with an accommodating wait staff that explained dishes. My party didn't want the dishes too spicy so we were told what on the menu worked for us. Very close to the theaters. Comfortable atmosphere.

My first Korean meal. A little afraid coming into restaurant. Very friendly and comfortable ambiance. Quickly seated. I told fine waiter that I had no idea but that I liked spicy and great beer. He recommended Spicy Galbi (short ribs) and Korean lager Kloud. While waiting four tasty appetizers arrived, one being Kimchee, which I had heard mixed reviews about. Well, the kimchi did not have a bad smell at all, and was quite delicious, along with the other 3 free appetizers. The main dish arrived sizzling and incredibly yummy. Then the attentive waiter brought another free round of those great appetizers with a couple of new dishes. The beers were perfect and cooked palate along with rice and three other side dishes of yummy vegetables. Quite a successful initiation into the world of delicious Korean cuisine, at a very reasonable price.

Had a lovely dinner here before a show at Interact theater. The location makes it a perfect place to have some dinner before attending any of the spots near the Kimmel. Everything we ordered was fantastic. The flavors were incredibly complex and complimentary. But the highlight and the dish I cannot stop thinking about was the Coco Ceviche. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff, very personable and helpful. Until they get a liquor license, I recommend stopping next door for a few beers to enjoy with your meal. We will happily be back again soon!

An excellent inexpensive choice if you’re headed to a concert or performance at one of the theaters along Broad Street. Our party of four had a very filling meal at about $35 a person including tax & tip. We dined early and were able to take advantage of their weekday Happy Hour (5-7) prices. We shared 2 full appetizers & really loved the beef dumplings, the rice cakes were ok & I would probably try something else next time. Lots of complementary small sides come out including tofu, radishes, broccoli, sausage and mashed potatoes. For entrees I would suggest sharing one less than the number of people in your party; as that should be plenty. Obviously, heavy duty eaters will want to disregard this advice. We sampled the spicy marinated short ribs, the spicy chicken and the black bean noodle entrees. The noodle dish would be better as a side. It was a little one note & boring after a couple bites; but it did work well as a soothing agent after a few pieces of the spicy meats. Wine and beer and a limited liquor selection is available. The service was warm and affable; with our server inquiring about allergies & immediately pointing out food items that should be avoided. This is invaluable & kudos to management for their thoughtful oversight in making sure their guests have the best possible experience. It’s a bare bones very casual dining experience. No linens, hard chairs, TV by bar but that’s helping to keep the cost down which is a good thing.

We came after a brunch in Talula's Garden with a purpose of just tasting a little of their Jj ajiang Myun and taking the rest to go. To our surprise we've finished the whole bowl it was that good : ). Definitely coming back for more tasty stuff when in Philly again.

Perfect location for Korean food in the gayborhood. Easily accessible. Food is great. Good portions. Good service. Good price. Well done!

Had a fine meal here with attentive and thoughtful service helping friends for whom this was first time in a Korean restaurant. Food was hot, tasty and appropriate portions. Decent beer selection well served too. Menu quite varied with spicy and non- Spicy choices. Waitstaff young but helpful.

They told us about their happy hours when we arrived at past 10pm that Friday. They gave us lots of water plus hot barley tea. I picked up 2 plates of chicken plus a small dumpling place. Everything is good. I had the spiciest chicken meal there, which I thankfully finished. I also had their General Cho's chicken, which to my mind is the best version of this popular meal. Service was excellent!
BYOB - need to work some things out, but pretty good food
went for dinner – impotant for some is to know it is BYOB had fried oyster special – about $1 each – very good – lightly breaded tried scallop foie gras – tiny pieces of foie gras on top of raw oysters in oil, like Italian crudo but also fried oil added – interesting taste SRB Galbi was the special beef – good taste but little meat and, of course, mostly bone – but that is what gave it the flavor I suppose Salmon Avocado Chirashi – was not like Japanese chirashi, since the salmon was mixed with things like a salad first – not as delicious as regular Japanese chirashi in our book About $40pp with tip and tax, but could get by with half if eating light Nice new décor Inefficient service – many servers, but they seemed to be hiding while waiting to bring out food Also when entering noticed greasy smell in air and when leaving noticed clothes smelled greasy, so may not be good before theatre, etc.
