Memorable, delicious, authentic Mediterranean dinner with excellent choice of wines to suit any palate. Great service and attention to details - absolutely amazing !!

This place was great! Great place to hang out with friends or go on a date. My friend and I ordered their house white wine and rose, their wines are okay, however not a wow. We did not order any appetizer cause we wanted to save room for dessert lol We did get bread tho and it was a wise decision! Bread was great! Chewy, flavorful, hearty! I ended up eating so much bread lol! I had scallops for entree and my friend had bolognese! I was debating between daily special tuna and scallops.. And the waitress suggested scallops as I was looking for a lighter flavor. The three HUGE scallops were tender and juicy! I absolutely loved it and the romanesco on the side was great as well! I'm glad I took her advice! I'm not a huge fan for bolognese. I tried my friend's dish anyway and it was good too. And dessert didn't jump off the page as well. But something about this place is that it got so loud during the latter part of our meal.. I basically had to shout to my friend. I mean I like a fancy restaurant that is easy and layback.. I don't like places that are too serious and too quiet but it's just too loud in here that it kind of hurt the quality of the restaurant. Also, the service wasn't good. Our waitress was helpful but the other ones weren't as nice... I expected more for a classy Italian restaurant.

Nice appetizer selection. Octopus with lentils was excellent. Bread excellent too but they do charge for it. Excellent olives but again a surprizingly high charge. Pastas both had mediocre sauces. Wine generally overpriced. Excellent service.

Nice and quiet a cosy fresh terrace when it is hot nice food and very friendly service price quality ok and a good fixed lunch great

My friends have brunch here every weekend. I guess it's convenient for them. The fruit plate was indeed fresh, but the egg dish selection seemed uninspired for the price. Attentive waistaff.

Serafina is a lovely rustic Italian restaurant in the Eastlake neighborhood of Seattle that I have frequented for many years. We've celebrated special events such as birthdays, business lunches, wedding receptions, and "I want Italian food, lets go to Serafina tonight." The Bruschetta is one of the best I've had anywhere. The portions are ample and you will not go away hungry so keep this in mind when you want to try many things on their menu. The waitstaff are friendly and competent without being overbearing. They seem to know automatically when they are needed. It is one of my all time favorite Italian restaurants. The only complaint I have is parking, which is especially a problem if you are disabled. However, do not let that deter you from having some amazing food.

I've been to Serafina twice. Once for happy hour which I can say was wonderful. The place definitely gets busy during this time, I am sure with many locals as this is a pretty residential area. The drinks were great and apps as well. Reasonably priced HH. I also visited for lunch with my co-workers. While I will admit the food is amazing, it is a bit pricey depending on what you order. I had the agnolotti which was hearty and quite a good size portion. Some of my team mates had other dishes that were barely enough to fill a person. They were disappointed not with the food or the quality, but the portion size. For $16 you would expect more than just a couple of ravioli's. Aside from that, the service was good, maybe a bit slow for it only being lunch. I wonder what it's like at dinner time. I will be heading in to try dinner and wine some time.

We had a very disappointing dinner at Serafina. The setting is nice and the staff is pleasant, but the food is substantially overpriced and ordinary at best. Our dinner for four, with no appetizers and just one shared dessert, came to $350 with taxes, surcharges and tip. And don't go here if you're on any kind of a restricted diet. While the menu on the website is extensive, only a few of those dishes are on the nightly menu, and my request (because of dietary restrictions) for one that didn't make it on the night we were there (spaghetti carbonara), was flatly refused, with no offer to come up with something else I could eat. And not only does the restaurant require at least a 22% tip for the servers, it also adds a 4% surcharge because, by its own admission (written on the check), it won't otherwise pay its kitchen staff 'equitable wages'. Serafina 'Osteria and Enoteca' pretends to be a 'fine dining' establishment but it does not come close to living up to that standard. You can get far better food, at much more reasonable prices, at many other Italian restaurants in Seattle.

Serafina is an outstanding restaurant – it was head and shoulders above our other restaurant experiences in Seattle, which tended to be overpriced, standard fare in establishments with overblown reputations. We are not especially hard core foodies, but we do appreciate good food in settings with personality. Serafina is a lovely, lively smallish place with a small bar and fabulous food. What impressed us was the attention to every detail of our (simple) meal, starting with the iced tea and bread! I ordered the Cavalo salad and was struck by how I could actually taste each ingredient, which was perfectly paired with the others, and how you can really notice when the freshest quality ingredients are used. (Also, kudos for having a wide selection of salads with substance vs. the usual tired and limited offerings.) Both of us ordered the Tortoloni and were amazed at the perfect composition and balance of flavors. Best tortellini EVER. We did not intend to eat a heavy meal that evening, but the quality of the food quickly naturally led to consideration of dessert. (Also, YAY for having reasonable portion sizes – the perfect amount that allows you to fully appreciate what you just ate while still enjoying several courses.) So we capped off the meal with the Profiteroles -- chocolate cream puffs, hazelnut gelato, and bittersweet chocolate sauce – oh my!! Bonus: great staff and truly a value for what you get for your money.

We were seated outside in their courtyard with lovely plants. The food was wonderful, I had the pork loin which was cooked perfectly. The service was great and we had a very nice evening before heading off to a concert.

I met a friend here for lunch and the menu was spectacular. I had the carbonara which was fantastic. The house red wine was excellent. Make reservations for dinner.

I have always heard about Serafina, but never ventured north along Lake Union to find it. When a Living Social coupon offered Champagne Brunch it was the perfect opportunity for a date with my husband! We were smitten with the atmosphere as soon as we walked in, the service was welcoming & friendly throughout our visit, the food delicious! The deal came with a simple but tasty fresh fruit plate, you had a choice of a carafe of mimosas or bellinis, we opted for the refreshing bellini's . He had the Brioche French toast & the server happily substituted bacon for the sausage, no charge (it was amazing bacon!!) & I had the "Uovo al Forno" - it was fabulous! A darling man played the violin for entertainment, which was pleasant and not obtrusive. A terrific experience! I can't wait to come back for dinner sometime!

We stumbled on this restaurant one Sunday morning. What a delightful retreat and repast. Very interesting menu, excellent service, nice entertainment and nice ambience.

On the always cosy terace in a green decor Italian food that is very tasty Generaly busy and nice daily specials

We came here for lunch on a beautiful Seattle day and were able to sit outside, which was lovely. The food was very good. Our waitress was cordial, but very busy. We got our salads after about 30 minutes and our entrees 30 minutes after that. It also took a while to get the check.

This is a very nice little restaurant but I think it is a little overpriced and a little overrated. The food was pretty good although nothing out of the ordinary, selection was OK but I had a hard time finding something I wanted to order and we ended up paying ~$100 for a couple.

Went to Serafina for the first time to celebrate 2 birthdays. It was a Saturday night, so the restaurant was packed and noisy. We had a reservation and were seated promptly even though they very busy. The menu is limited, but the quality of each item was excellent. There were 5 of us and each ordered something differen. Everyone was thrilled with their selection. We finished our excellent dinner listending to live music. Our server had a thorough knowledge of each item on the menu. She also was well versed in wine pairings for our meal. I would rate the service, wine and food as excellent! Only con is the noise level.

Amazing restaurant! This place was recommended by a friend who lives in Seattle. Very quaint place. Friday night so very busy but you were not seated too close to the next group. Great outdoor area as well with a bar area. Of course the highlight was the food. It was spectacular. Started with the mussels in this spicy tomato sauce with grilled bread. Get the grilled bread! My husband had the lamb-ragu lasagna and I had the short ribs. Both outstanding. Treat yourself and go to this wonderful restaurant. Definitely need to make a reservation as well. Then

There are not enough complimentary words in the English language, or any other language, to describe the Sunday Brunch experience at Serafina. The service is impeccable. The ambiance is outstanding, made even more amazing by the live music (either a Jazz duo or a Violinist depending on the Sunday). The food is incredible, and you definitely cannot make a wrong choice between the Mimosa, the Peach Bellini or Bloody Mary with your meal. My wife and I usually both get the same thing for our meals. The Bistecca (read: Steak & Eggs with potatoes and baby arugula.) The egg comes soft cooked, but we usually ask if we can get the eggs poached, which they are happy to accommodate. The food is cooked to perfection, every time, without exception. There is no better way to get your Sunday into gear than having brunch at Serafina. The food, the atmosphere, the service and the quality are all top notch. They do have some seats available for walk-ins, but to be safe, we usually make a reservation. But, you can usually make the reservation on Sunday morning. As is the case at most places in Seattle, parking is on-street, but there is no shortage of parking in the area. Do yourself a favor. If you like brunch, come give this place a try. You'll leave with a smile on your face. We always do! Pro-Tip: If you're still on the fence, from time-to-time, they will have a deal on Living Social. Keep an eye out. We had been to Serafina for dinner previously (also very, very good); and had no idea they did Brunch until we saw it on Living Social one day. That's how we got introduced to their brunch, and we haven't looked back!

Spent a “fine evening “ on the patio garden at Serafina on a warm summer night. Great Italian menu and attentive staff. Very friendly waitress, Anna was lovely. Definitely going back.

If I could give Serafina 6 stars, I would. After many years and many meals there, I have never had a bad experience. The food , service and ambiance are all first rate. Recommendations: crustini, Boar pappardelle pasta, any of their specials. Ask the waiter to pair the wine to your meal. Be adventurous here you will not be disappointed

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Serafina. The place offered a very elegant and romantic ambiance; a piano and bass duo was playing good music while we dined. The staff was very professional and friendly giving us superb service. The food was very good, the perfect mix of elaborate cuisine that still maintained the home-style cooking feeling. We ordered various items from the menu that give us a good statistical sample to review the place. The salads, primi piatti, secondi e contorni were very good. We tried an almond desert that was just fair. The espresso was below par which is not acceptable in a place like this. The place has a nice choice of wines, the two we tried by the glass were excellent, and of after dinner drinks.

This is one of my favorite places. If you go in the summer sit on the deck. It is small, quaint, and the food is good. If you sit at the bar the bartenders are awesome and are very friendly.

Serafina’s turned out to be a wonderful dining experience from the warm greeting we received upon arrival to the final farewell from the wait staff. We started with the crispy squash blossoms and Bruschetta. The house smoked mackerel on the bruschetta was a real treat! The anchovy vinaigrette on the Acciyghe salad was well balanced with the radicchio and gem lettuce. The four entrees we had were equally well executed. Wait staff knew the menu items and were happy to make recommendations based on individual tastes, as in no olives on the bruschetta. On a nice Seattle evening to be able to sit outside and enjoy friends and good food, life is good!

This restaurant is a unique dining experience. They have a vast wine selection and extraordinary menu. The staff is very professional and friendly. The staff are very competent at wine pairings. On the weekends they have live entertainment. During the summer they open the outside dining in the courtyard. The bread with olive oil is always a nice starter. There calamari is different yet tasty. I love the Melanzane (eggplant) with the caprese salad. My husband loves the flank steak. If they have salmon on the menu it's well worth trying. They do not have a children's menu. This is a great spot for couples or families. It's very cozy. This is such a popular spot, be sure to make a reservation.

I was with a friend/business customer dining for lunch and the restaurant (selected by the client) was perfect. We had a corner table by the window and it was quite and intimate. The food was beautifully prepared (starting with a summer melon salad with four different types of melons and a gentle dressing and then risotto. The servings were the perfect size (smallish) with a lovely presentation. Our server was friendly and attentive (never interfering with our conversations) and made good recommendations on the wine. A lovely lunch.

We had a small family gathering here after Thanksgiving and I was very satisfied with the whole experience. The ambience is very nice. I was driving, so I can't comment on the wine, but my wife liked hers. I had the Rigatoni Bolognese and all I can say is I liked it a lot. It is a quite place and we were able to carry on a conversation with six people while enjoying our meal. The bruschetta and olives were very good. The ice tea was actually some of the best I've had outside of Texas. The staff was very professional.

This is a fantastic restaurant. Food is superb ~ service Devine. We love all of their appetizers...don't miss the Polpo. For dinner my wife had the Cavatelli and I had the Rigatoni Bolognese, both were absolutely wonderful / delicious! I'm a desert fan and all of theirs are excellent. Make note- the new remodel is beautify and the sound level is MUCH quieter...you can hear your date and friends without effort. LOVE~LOVE~LOVE this restaurant!

Great spot for good Italian flavors. Had one of the specials of the night octopus Bolognese with ink stained rigatoni. The combination of flavors was fantastic! For desert we had the chocolate almond Gelato that delicious!

My husband had the lasagna and it was one of the best he'd ever tasted. I had a perfectly dressed salad with toasted honeyed hazelnuts on top! Fantastic tomato soup.

We had a lovely diner for three at Serafina last night. Enjoyed it very much. Our server was attentive without being obsequious, and food was served promptly. The fresh capresi made with heirloom tomatoes was simply delicious, and all of the other food was quite tasty as well. The seafood was excellent, and the ambiance was attractive and inviting. The only possible negative is that the room was overly warm. No air conditioning, and it was a hot day in Seattle, but frankly, this is not a big worry for most of the year.

The food is delicious, the service was really impressive, and the outdoor courtyard seating area is a lovely place to dine. Highlights of our meal included the eggplant involtini dish (melanzane), the broccolini appetizer, and the pickled grapes in our salad. I've never had pickled grapes before and they were quite yummy. Why don't more places pickle grapes?! There are good options for vegetarians, pescatarians, and carnivores. RE Covid: The staff were masked and guests wore masks when walking around indoors. The seating outdoors allows enough space between tables for comfort.

Ordered the eggplant on the advice of the server. Food was very good, portions were just right. Would go again.

Serafina on Eastlake is a cozy hideaway and Seattle staple since 1991. Although it is pretty well known in Seattle it still has a charm and feels as if it is a well kept secret. While small and intimate, it has a steady bar scene, and “not a bad table in the house.” The staffers are friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable. The restaurant serves Italian cuisine that is rustic and hardy and prides itself on serving the freshest, highest quality ingredients, and presenting the food as if you were eating in an Italian home. There were 4 in our party. The orders consisted of the Pappardelle Bolognese- Anderson Ranch lamb, fennel sausage, marjoram, Pecorino. One order of the Trofie- Basil-mint pesto, English pea, cherry tomato, summer squash, pine nut, and two orders of the “Special” which was a dish similar to the Pappardelle Bolognese-but with lamb meatballs and an angel hair pasta. All of the dishes were very tasty: fresh, filling, and pleasing to the eye. ONE SUGGESTION- I would order the dinner portion. I can’t imagine how much is on the smaller portion, but I don’t eat much and the larger one was almost not enough. We also had a bit of an incident. (IT WAS CORRECTED, but I fill I have to tell it) Pieces of plastic was found in both the “Special” orders. We did inform the staff and they took it off of our bill. There is street parking on the side streets so depending on when you go, allow extra time. My review would have been higher if not for the “plastic” but all in all Serafina’s is a enjoyable Italian restaurant.

We recently visited Serafina with out-of-town visitors and we had an excellent experience. The food was delicious, the cocktails were good and the service was very attentive. I would add one caveat and say that the dessert was not as good - I just thought they tried to be too innovative and lost some of the quality - I'm speaking about the Barretta di Cioccolata-too much going on with that. The bruschetta was very good; my favorite was the smoked trout and the ricotta stuffed squash blossoms were also a favorite. For my main, I had the eggplant and the tomato sauce was to die for. Others in my group had the spaghetti and the scallops - both reportedly very good.

Serafina is a very good Italian restaurant in the Lake Union area of Seattle - so it is not downtown. They have a good selection of Italian dishes - including nightly specials. It has very good food quality & quantity - with friendly & attentive service. The restaurant has a neighborhood clientele - located in a residential area - with parking limited. They have a nice selection of Italian wines + a few beers on tap.

I love, love, love this restaurant. It's been consistently great for it's entire 27 year history. I've been eating here on and off since it's opening. Great local neighborhood place, off the beaten path that I hope never goes away. We have lost a ton of these local places in Seattle over the years and that's depressing. Thank God for Serafina. I had the Bruschetta to start dinner, and it was an interesting way to serve it. Instead of loading up the toasted bread, they condiments were separate so you could build your own to taste. I had the Rigatoni Bolgnese for dinner. Superb. Others at my table had the lasagna and the Gnocchi which were spectacular as well. Don't forget to have the best Whiskey Sour in town. We all started dinner off with one of these (well I ended up ordering a second) which were perfection. They squeeze their own lemons and all the other ingredients that go into the drink are fresh, not out of a can or premixed. Really makes a difference. The ambiance and the service are top notch. Our server was truly a professional. You don't find them too often!

This is a "must" when I am in Seattle. When the weather is good eat on the patio. Excellent food, impeccable service.

I was highly disappointed by Seraphina. Many fine ingredients were nicely cooked and then covered with spiced olive oil so that everything was brown colored, like in the picture, and had the same spicy greasy taste. What a waste of good food and good money, over $300 for four people without alcohol. About the lowest value for money of any restaurant meal I've had in the last few years.

Outside dining in fair weather, located just out of the hustle and bustle but delivering excellence every time I've been.

We've been coming to Serafina for years, it consistently a place we call one of our favorite restaurants in Seattle and definitely our favorite Italian restaurant. Unlike some other high end restaurants where you feel you need to be dressed up or you're looked down upon, Serafina reflects the family restaurant warmth we've experienced in Italy. Great wine list - I'll declare up front my preference for both Italian wines (over other international wines) and a bit of a bias for Washington wines based on knowledge of the vintners. But, my bias here isn't for big brands, more for unique smaller wineries. The list is very interesting, reasonably priced with some gems the wine steward will help you discover. The menu is fresh and unique. You'll find some regulars on the menu, a vegetarian lasagne a number of freshly made pasta dishes as well as a great steak and pork chop. My usual preference is the specials - as they are truly special. The staff has great knowledge and passion for food and wine. I had my best Spanish coffee here as well (though I'm not a big Spanish coffee drinker). They turned down the lights at the bar and made it with showmanship - that was worth the experience by itself. If there is any negative it's that the serving portions are large. If my wife and I go together, we'll split a prima and secondi - first course and main.

We had dinner here the first night we arrived in Seattle. It looked amazing; outdoor seating, very busy; though parking was a bit of an issue. Since it was going on about midnight for us, I had a light dinner of the soup of the day: pasta fagioli soup. It was okay. Very crisp vegetables, but needed seasoning in the broth. Other had the lamb meatballs and pasta - that was very well received. I don't eat lamb, so I cannot comment. Another had the Ravioli di Formaggio. It was good. Not any raviolis for an entree portion. Had a nice flavor with two cheeses. Light sauce. The special had tagliatelle pasta with a creamy sauce, bacon, and mushrooms. It was okay as well. We ending up sharing it as it was a good sized portion. The wait staff was slow as soon as we didn't order any wine. The bread and water server was excellent and very responsive.

Lovely Sunday Brunch at Serafina's. Large portions, so left with some great bites for dinner. The "jazz brunch" was bit overstated; heard they had a violin playing on deck, but there were six in our party and they indicated they couldn't accommodate that on deck. We were unaware of music. First course flatbread awesome as was my baked egg dish. Everyone loved their selections. Would absolutely go back! Server very pleasant and knowledgeable.

7 of us went to Serafina to celebrate a birthday.....so fun! We all ordered something different and tried them all. Each dish was delicious. Reminds me of some of my favorite places in New York. Highly recommend if you are looking for a special place!

Four of us dined at Serafina after a long hiatus. The good news is that it has kept its identity; the less than stellar news is that we had forgotten how very noisy the restaurant is, especially if you are seated next to a large table of eight. One of us had a meal he was very happy with; the rest of us felt our meals were pretty average. The soup of the day, butternut squash, was very good however. So, a mixed dining experience.

Needed some good Italian food while in Seattle. Serafina was recommended by staff at Silver Cloud Inn on Lake Union and was near by. Rustic atmosphere, enticing menu and nice wine list. Once we saw the Fiori di Zucca on the menu, had to have and was not disappointed. 3 large beautifully stuffed squash blossoms delicately coated in a light batter & filled with ricotta & basil. . . yummy! Shared a Ravanello salad - fresh, light & tasty. Entrees consisted of Risotto Milanese & Plin d'Anatra. Both dishes were excellent. Finished this delightful meal with cappuccino. Was a very nice way to start our visit to Seattle.

I gave this place a four star, because my conscience dragged it up from a three. My dinner was amazing. Our pre-diner cocktails were excellent. My first course was the steamed mussels in tomato sauce. It was perfect in every way. The side of toasted sliced baguette sopped up every last drop of the marvelous sauce. Serafina's version of rolled and baked eggplant is unbeatable. One of our diners had the rigatoni bolognese. He said that his meal was delicious as well. All in all, our selections were right on. I am sure that the other menu choices must be of the same quality. There were a few negative surprises that took away from a nice evening experience. There was a 3% add on to the entire bill, explained away as a gratuity to the kitchen help. I normally am a 20% tipper, sometimes a little more for superb service. Handling this situation was easy enough for me, if a bit uncomfortable. I tipped 17%, to complete my usual total. My last comment is on the service. When i ask my wait person for advice on choices, I am confident that the response would guide me well. By the timeI I was half way through my first course of the hearty dish of mussels, I realized my ordering error. I took home most my order of eggplant and had a lovely microwaved appetizer the next night. I will go back. The food there is wonderful.

Food and service was top notch! My daughter lost a small earring; it wasn’t expensive but had sentimental value. I left our contact information in case they found it. They not only found it but mailed it back to us out of state!!

I went back to Serafina this November and have to say it is as wonderful as it has ever been. great bar, great food Great service. This is a consistent gem. Highly recommend.

We visited Serafina on our last Seattle visit. It has long been a favorite of ours!! Still the same great food and wine. Service is extremely good and is very attentive but not stuffy. Eggplant is to die for. Also had the profiteroles and mussels. (Incredible sauce) While it is loud and very busy, we were able to get our little niche over next to a window. Romantic and fun. Will be returning again soon!!!

I recently moved to Eastlake and was overjoyed upon trying Serafina for the first time. Delicious food, charming atmosphere, kind and attentive service, I'd recommend to anyone in Seattle looking for some superb Italian! My friend and I shared the arrancini (wonderful) and I had the lasagna for my entree (awesome tomato sauce) and we loved both of these options. Definitely try this place for yourself!

4 of us had dinner - I had been several times before - and we were all disappointed. The Limone salad was bland. My carbonara was almost exclusively pasta, I had to search for the meat. And two had the Affogato dessert, which was basically a scoop of ice cream and a shot of espresso. And I had to get the attention of the waiter to order drinks, order dinner and order dessert. He never once asked us if we needed anything.

Italian ambience, quality food, good service House wine at lunch at $6 a glass Can be quiet later in lunch hour (1130 -230)

We were in town for the Seattle Marathon and ate here on the advice of a local. What a great tip! From the moment we walked in we felt right at home. Warm and welcoming vibe and the staff is not pretentious in any way (one of our pet peeves). The service, food, and wine were all top notch at this fantastic neighborhood Italian restaurant... go there!!

My husband and I went to Serafina on Eastlake Ave. E. for Seattle Restaurant Week--three course dinner menu for $33 per person. We made reservations and were immediately seated upon arrival. For appetizers, we ordered the risotto fritters and mushroom soup. Both were very tasty, had appetizing textures and flavors. For main dishes, we ordered the seared tuna and the braised beef short rib. The tuna was tender and was on top of a medley of cherry tomatoes, cous cous, and pine nuts; the beef was very tender, falling off of the bone, with a rich brown gravy with lots of umami. For dessert, we both had the coffee mascarpone--smooth texture and wonderful coffee flavor. The service was outstanding, the restaurant was bustling! We will come again!!

Over the years, all of my experiences at Serafina were great - exceptional food, good service, nice vibe. Until this week. We visited for the first time in about a year and prices have just got too high - least expensive wine is $10 a glass - most are $14 to $16. Butter lettuce salad is now $11. And most disappointing was that nothing we ate made us stop and go "damn - this is good." All was fine and good - but nothing was exceptional - the plin (a small ravioli) was swimming in butter with very little of the beef, pork and spinach filling taste coming through. And profiteroles were just plain bland - know that close your eyes sensation when you get a taste of a real intense and smooth chocolate? Not here!

I've been to Serafina a few times and I've always had very nice food and enjoyed the atmosphere. I recently went there for the Restaurant Week promotion and came away very impressed. The food was fantastic, especially the soup and the halibut. I was really impressed, especially considering the deal going on. The wait staff were also very attentive and did a great job taking care of us.

I was taken by a friend who said it was the local 'in' place. Certainly it has been yuppified. But the high standards I expected were not upheld. I ordered tagliatelle with wild mushrooms. It came cold, congealed and the mushrooms were not properly cooked and half raw. The mushrooms would have been a nice mixture of wild funghi but either the pasta had been left standing for t least 30 minutes or it had been half heartedly microwaved. Neither is satisfactory. It was glued all together and had to be prized apart .

A summer evening on the patio at Serafina cannot be beat. The private setting, beautiful planting’s and European atmosphere is perfect. If the weather is a bit chilly, don’t worry, they have heaters. We dine here several times per year and every time the service, food and presentation is wonderful. A diverse regular menu coupled with a daily fresh sheet has something for everyone; omnivores, vegetarians and vegans will all have something to choose. A great wine list is a plus, from budget selections to very special limited bottles are on hand. They also have several limited wines they buy and offer on a regular basis. Reservations are recommended and the bar crowd is fun and active.

We popped in here for lunch and were wowed by this place. Amazing, attentive service and the food is so delicious. Creative dishes, full of flavour. There was an excellent wine list too. Tables and chairs are comfortable, private and well arranged. This place makes you want to come back for more! Well done!

Serafina is one of our favorite Italian restaurants in Seattle. The atmosphere is amazing and the waitstaff is always friendly and knowledgeable. We recently got back from spending over two weeks in Italy and for our wedding anniversary we wanted to reminisce about our trip and the amazing food we had in Italy. We chose Serafina. Enough said.

We purchased a brunch "deal" on Living Social. Sometimes the experience isn't that great when the staff know you're price conscious and sometimes the menu options are too limited. Not the case here. We were able to choose any entrée and they allowed a substitution for my wife. (bacon instead of sausage) Her French toast was excellent as was my scramble. The potato side dish was to die for. Well worth it, but make reservations, it was full.

We always loved Serafina. It was a great local Italian spot with good service and great food. We had dinner there tonight and I'm not sure what's changed but it was not the authentic Italian we have enjoyed in the past. The server was new and couldn't answer basic questions about the menu. The portions were small, the food was more artistic than authentic. Very foo-foo. We won't be returning any time soon. And the $25 corkage fee? That's ridiculous.

Visited Serafina for dinner in October 2019. This Italian restaurant in East Lake neighborhood has been around for many years. One of Seattle’s local favorites. It’s a popular place and tables are placed relatively close. So it could get pretty noisy. Casual atmosphere as well. Great for family and friends, but not necessarily recommend for business or romantic dinner. Two pasta dishes, Rigatoni and Tajarin, were amazing! Beef short rib was fantastic as well. Chianti Classico wine was very tasty and perfect match for those Italian dishes.

From appetizer to dessert, every item was excellent. Timing was perfect with each course arriving as the prior was completed. Will definitely return.

Great food, service, drinks, etc. We have been the last three times we visited Seattle and it never disappoints. The staff is always so friendly and accommodating. I would recommend a reservation. We have only ever been on the weekends and the place is always hopping.

No matter if you eat in or out, Serafina in East Lake will give one of the finest Italian/Mediterranean experiences anywhere. Try the Cozze or Polpo appetizers, the Gnocchi, or the Cappa Sarte. Pricey? yep. Worth it? yep. Excellent wine list and the service is absolutely some of the best in Seattle

We secured a last minute reservation and sat outside on the patio on one of those magical Seattle summer evenings, visiting the restaurant for the first time in a while. It was as good as we remembered : focused, friendly service, a creative cocktail selection and simply wonderful food. Kudos for maintaining a high standard and that special ambiance through all these years.

Just had a late lunch here today, I was unsure of what to get here so I let the waitress pick the food for me. Both the salad and pasta were very good. Service from Amilla was most excellent.

My husband and I have been going to Serafina for our special occasion and celebratory place for over a decade now. We even have 2 other couples that join us on New Year's Eve each year as our tradition. The food is beyond delectable and service is impeccable. Every moment at Serafina from the time you step into the restaurant and are greeted by the staff to the orchestration of the meal is a true delight. We make note of the ingredients and when we have a successful culinary experience at our home we share "It's as good as Serafina!" It's also nice to have to backdrop of live music. Sue Nixon and her trio are our favorite and have played at our home and celebrations many times after falling in love with her style and jazz trio at Serafina. We truly cannot recommend a better venue for a culinary experience with a setting all its own. You truly feel as though you've stepped into another culture and time after each dining experience. I've now added a girls lunch monthly with a close friend as part of my repitoire at this amazing space. Dining outside on the patio in the summer is an experience not to be missed. As I ponder our experiences here and memories of exquisite food, fabulous wait staff and an atmosphere not to be missed, I'm contemplating when my husband and I can next find a moment to sneak away to Serafina, our cherished moment in time, and favorite restaurant in Seattle.

We wanted to experience live music so we went came here. The music that day was great (don't remember the name of the band). The food was of similar quality as that of a good Italian restaurant, the drinks were good as well. We liked the energy in the restaurant, more than what he had expected. Definitely worth another visit.

With 5 different dishes all felt there was an extremely heavy hand on the salt to the point of almost, or actually, ruining the meal. The risotto was very spicy wihich was not disclosed on the menu. My husband ate the 5 prawns out ot the risotto and that ended up to be his dinner. The noise level was over the top to not being able to hear each other without extended effort. With an older person at our table - they were basically excluded from the conversation. There are lots of new PET acousitcal baffle solutions to create a much more enjoyable experience, I hope to find something in place on my next visit, although this restaurant has dropped way down on my Seattle list.

Was introduced to Serafina by friends that live a few blocks away on a houseboat. What a great meal. The bread and dipping sauce was just a peak of what was to come- very tasty and the bread just rustic enough. I had the bolognese which was fantastic. I had a bite (all that was spared) of the pork loin that was flavorful and cooked just right. I saw reviews that said it was overpriced and I beg to differ- it was a good value for the quality and the portion. Can't wait to go back- better food than the Pink Door.

The restaurant was recommended by our shuttle driver and it did not disappoint. We ate in the backyard which was very comfortable. We were seated immediately and the service was very informative and attentive. All the pasta dishes are homemade. The menu was extensive with gluten free options for my wife. Aside from pasta they have meat and fish dishes as well. The salads were excellent and our dinners were delicious. The prices were reasonable but I am from NY. This restaurant is well worth the visit.

We recently had a family dinner at Serafina. There were six of us and the servers managed to know who ordered what, a plus. My food was not as hot as I like it but I did not complain. The wine list lacked any low or moderate priced reds, in my opinion. Overall it as a pleasant experience.

While visiting in the Seattle area was told to try this place out. It was such a wonderful dining experience. Went for dinner. The bruschetta was outstanding as an appetizer. Main course entrees included Maiale...pork short ribs with summer beans and fruit as well as Bistecca...marinated flank steak was such a taste you have never experienced. Wonderful, Also, don't forget dessert. Torta, a wonderfully flavored cheesecake and Profiteroles...chocolate cream puffs. Enjoy those delights with an espresso.

Serafina is a little gem tucked away on Eastlake. It has great ambiance, nice servers and fabulous food for great prices. We loved it so much, we went back twice in one week. Happy hour is 4-6, and they have great house wines for $6 and a extensive list of small plates that are under $15, and are easy to share for 2 people. Plus between 5-6 you can order off the regular menu as well, so there are plenty of wonderful Italian choices. You can sit at the bar-very entertaining-or they have lovely tables. It does tend to fill up quickly for happy hour, so plan accordingly!

I’m not normally a fan of Italian dining, having eaten in Italy I find few restaurants compare to the real thing. Serafina, however, is as close as I have found to Italy. Every dish I’ve had there has been excellent. The deserts are to die for. Very creative and yet such wonderful compliments to the first, second and third courses. I will admit it can get a warm buzz of patrons conversing over wine and pasta but I think the sign of a great restaurant is a dining room full of merry guests. Most of the time when a restaurant is empty and quiet, there’s a reason.

House made pasta! Excellent wine selection and an inviting cozy atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

Took my wife here for her birthday last week. The food was excellent, the service was outstanding, and the overall value was very good, I felt. The only reason I wouldn't give this restaurant five stars overall is because of the ambiance. It was so loud in there that I had to ask our server to repeat herself several times. I recognize that it was a Friday night and the place was packed, and I'm not one to shy away from crowds or energetic places, but it became slightly annoying at times. I would definitely recommend this place and will certainly go again ourselves, but be aware that it could be very noisy.

I had not been to Serafina in years. It's restaurant week in the city so we decided to go. I had the Risotto fritters, spring aliums, Gorgonzola fonduta and greens, very good. My main course was the Spaghetti with tomato, cayenne, garlic, basil, and Parmigiano, also very good. But the best was the Coffee mascarpone semifreddo, cocoa nib crunch, sea salt, espresso caramel, which was excellent. The service was very very good. I would highly recommend a visit.

Having eaten at Serafina at various times over many years, it is always a joy and treat to come back again for dinner or lunch. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, no uber-modern décor or over the top noise. The Italian food shines and service is top notch. Enjoyed a great Old Fashioned from the bar on this trip. Highly recommended.

We went with our family and had a wonderful experience. The wine guy made a great suggestion and even brought us an extra taste to try. The fava bean appetizer was "one of the best things I have had in a long time." The wind boar pasta special had a nice zing to it. To finishthings off we had the panacatta and the rubarb tart. Everything was great and our server, April, was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

For an upscale Italian dinner, try Serafina. While the menu is somewhat limited, the entrees are attractive and well-prepared. Service is excellent and the restaurant has a good atmosphere. The eggplant dish was excellent, and others in our party had the menu specials, which also received good reviews. Entrees are pricey and there is an extra charge for bread.

We were here for my son's birthday. Not our first visit -the night was superb! Our water glasses never went empty. The service is the best I've had in sometime. Thank you for a great meal and a great evening!

Went out to dinner with my wife's family. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and the service. Every single person we interacted with at the restaurant was nothing but friendly. The food was quite good and the prices were in line with what you would expect to see.

The wait staff are well-trained and always courteous and responsive. The food is yummy! The cocktails are also yummy!

This was a while back when we went there and am hoping to return soon. All the food we got was great and in large portions. Have gone 2x. Usually find easy parking, a rarity in Seattle.

We love Serafina. The food and ambience are wonderful. The lamb rigatoni and eggplant dishes are our go-tos. Simply delicious. Our waitress (reddish hair) was more of our trusted advisor, and helped us with fabulous appetizers. Our one suggestion, change the seats in the outside back area. They are very uncomfortable. But they won't stop us coming back. Ok, one more. Have a tasting menu. We'd love to try other dishes but we're locked into our favorites. A tasting menu would let diners experiment. So good to be back here🙂🙂

This is the best Italian food I have ever eaten. The location is very cool and the servers are all very local. There is a real buzz and great atmosphere too. I strongly recommend a reservation as the locals sell it completely out on the weekends.

I was so extremely disappointed in this place. My parents were visiting from Michigan and I had heard nothing but amazing reviews but the food was... just... bad. We got an appetizer of calamari, which we were so curious about considering it was on a bed of cous-cous and some sort of red sauce. No flavor - nothing. Absolutely nothing. We should have easily been able to finish the whole bowl between the three of us but we wanted to save room for our meals and it was wasted calories. Our meals - also bland. I got the scallops, my dad got some sort of seafood soup and I forget what my mom got. My dad hated his and while I finished mine, it was mostly because I was hungry. My mom said hers was okay but no spark. We were pretty packed in together and being right next to the stage, we were a little annoyed when a band came on. Thankfully, they didn't play terribly loud. The bathrooms were very poorly maintained but it was nice to have quite a few and have them be unisex. While sitting at the bar, waiting for our table, we had a couple drinks and the bartender was very nice. I was able to see into the kitchen and at one point, I saw a woman go to put a pan of something onto a part of the stove up top. It fell, getting over the plates on the stove and creating a mess. Perhaps they had new people or were understaffed but that should have been the omen for a bad night of meals.

Very pretty outdoor courtyard let us enjoy a leisurely afternoon glass of wine. Perfect for a sunny September. The set menu offered a variety of pastas and 3 salad choices for $20 The wine list by the glass was small but offered 4 good reds. Whenever there is rabbit on offer, it’s my first choice, and the fresh cavatelli with rabbit ragu with dollops of ricotta and sage butter was great. My only quibble was the decision to add a few raw Brussels sprout leaves, for texture I guess. ( I had to remind myself that the chew was vegetable, not gristle!). My husband loved the Bolognese rigatoni. His tomato soup was flavorful, thickened with bread crumbs and slightly spicy. The service was prompt and professional. In fact, when I pointed out to my server that there were a large amount of lees in my glass, she replaced it.

Great happy hour although bar is small and loud. Appetizers much less than same items on regular menu. Went outside after happy hour and had a lovely dinner on the patio. The special pasta of the day was fabulous, the lasagna predictable (but delicious) and the salad a nice compliment. The service was friendly and attentive. Will definitely visit again!

What a fun evening! Went out with another couple for dinner with a reservation. The place was packed on a Saturday night. We enjoyed salads (beet) and a cup of soup (sun choke). Entrees around the table included butternut squash ravioli, eggplant on angel-hair pasta, and the beef spare ribs special. The wine was Poliziano vin Nobile, a chianti. For dessert we enjoyed a panna cotta with coffee and a Taylor 20yr port. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. My beef was so tender it about melted in my mouth. We also enjoyed the jazz combo that was playing, and some songs included vocals. The music was great. The singing made it difficult to talk so we just waited until the song ended. I'd estimate that there were only about 3 vocal songs per set. The evening was perfect. Our server, Kristi was very helpful, as was Saul, the sommelier. Would highly recommend Serafina's for couples and friends. Make a reservation.

I hadn't been to Serafina for a long time as we had an unfortunate experience there a few years ago. This dinner made up for it and then some. We had a vegan and an 8 year old in our party and both were catered to quite cheerfully, which we really appreciated. Food was quite delicious all the way around--vegan, vegetarian, and meat eaters all agreed. It's a little pricey, but works for a special occasion or just date night. Definitely make a reservation as it gets crazy busy.

Came here for dinner - first time here - and it's our new favorite place! We loved everything about this place - the interior was cozy and rustic. Loved it. The staff was amazing - they took care of us in every way from the hostess, to our outstanding waiter, to the wine guy. They steered us right on everything. We had the Pasta of the Day, which was a wild boar meat sauce over orecchiette - we were all moaning! So good. I love that they have several interesting vegetable sides - we had the roasted broccoli (incredible) and the fava beans (to die for). Our waiter was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the food. The only underwhelming dish was the bucatini with pecorino - it just lacked flavor. But everything else was groaningly great. Thanks, Serafina - we will be back. Oh - also - I loved that it wasn't so noisy that we couldn't have a conversation. Nice.

Have not been back to this restaurant for years too bad. Shared Pappardelle -noodles were done just right with a great sauce and well as the Pork dish. These are not on their regular Lunch menu. Service was very good but it did take a while to get our dishes-probably due to a very busy restaurant. Would recommend this establishment.

Serafina is consistently excellent. We’ve dined here for years and never had a disappointing evening. The menu seems to vary appropriately with the seasons. Food is excellent with a wine list, though not huge, that has excellent options. It’s a relatively small venue but seating is very comfortable. The bar is small but friendly. Would recommend Serafina to anyone but wouldn’t recommend bringing young children.

I don't know why Serefina has such a strong rating. Based on our brunch experience, this restaurant will not make our top 10. My husband and I had a Living Social and decided to use it. We were entitled to a pitcher of mimosa (okay - nothing to right home about), fruit platter (which consisted of 1 strawberry, two small slivers of pineapple and 2 thin slices of nectarine) and two main entrees. I had the farmers breakfast, which was nothing to write home about and it came WITHOUT bread?!?! My husband had the lamb filled gnocchi or ravioli...which was really good (hence the two stars!). The service was sub-par and we had to ask for our pathetic fruit plate. Would not recommend this place for brunch. To be fair my hubby and I did go to Serefina for dessert a few months earlier and it was delicious which gives me hope that perhaps brunch isn't their forte.

These days, no restaurant is complete without a drink menu often longer than the food list and Serafina is no different. I chose a herbal infusion with gin while my wife went for the grapefruit cocktail. Neither of us was disappointed. The waiter was helpful but it was clear from his recommendations that there were his favorites, the clients favorites, the chefs favorites and his cousin Vinny's favorites, in other words, no a huge help in narrowing down the list. With 6 at the table we were able to sample across a wide variety of choices, and while most were great- his cousin Vinny must have bad taste?! Everyone liked the fish of the day (A seared Yellowfin), the vegetarian pasta choice was passable, bland but not insulting and the Paccheri was a mixture of crunchy, spicy, colorful herbs that somehow really overpowered the crab. Least favorite item on the menu (again, Vinny you let us down). At peak hours and on weekends, the restaurant can be very crowded - around 9:30 or so, live jazz graces the space making conversation almost impossible. Not a place I'd recommend for a quiet conversation but a good place to meet when you want pasta, AND need a wide range of food selections beyond the typical italian preparations.

We had the opportunity to visit Seattle and searched for Italian restaurants and we found Serafina and boy are we glad we did. The food was outstanding and the service was stupendous. Our waiter Kyle was so attentive knowledgeable and even went the extra mile to send us a round of drinks at a restaurant he recommended for lunch the next day when we visited Pikes market. What a great experience and we can't wait to return.

Even though it's a small thang . . I am still irritated by it . . It's like the airlines . . A charge for everything . . When you sit down you are asked, "Would you like our bread service?" You do not find out until your bill arrives that it's a $3 charge. Service was great. Bread, soup and desert were very good.

I guess you could call Serafina a neighborhood gem. It’s definitely off the beaten path for tourists. We’re visiting from out of town and were lucky to find it. Great classical Italian with many “original” dishes.

We love Serafina and call it our neighborhood restaurant even though we live 40 min away! The meals are always excellent, service is always top notch, and the new pastry chef makes a 7 layer special dessert that’s outstanding! Our friends also love it! Appetizers, shared plates, entrees, and desserts are tops! They also have a great bar and Michelle makes amazing tiki drinks if you ask her!

We went to Serafina with friends during restaurant week. $32 for 3 course (we visit several restaurants every year to try them out). So, $32 x 2 plus tip = $160. Food was very good, BUT, during the meal, a server was serving the group behind our table and evidently spill something. We didn't think anything at the time and the server NEVER mentioned anything. But the next day, we noticed that we had stained on the back of my dress shirt and my wife's trench coat that was on the back of her chair (she also had some stains on her blouse). When I was a server and if I spilled something, I immediately owned up to it and tried to remedy it. The server said nothing. Now our clothes are off the dry cleaner. Thank you Serafina. Train your wait staff better.

This was a great dining experience! We were impressed first by the sommelier who switched out a full bottle of red when it wasn't to our liking. The bread and seasoned olive oil to start were amazing and hate to say we had several orders. We then had the limone which is similar to a Caesar salad but better but you have to like anchovies. Then we had arancini which were delicious unlike the kinds I've always had with meat and red sauce in the middle, these were mushroom based and we did everything but lick the bowl. The rigatoni bolognese was worth it and noticeably used home made pasta! Thoroughly enjoyed our servers honesty that the special dessert of the day was not great so we opted for the hazelnut torta which was amazing. Will come back and for us it's a three hour drive.

Had the rolled eggplant dish, it was excellent. i love italian food, this place is special. Too bad we live in Arizona

Try it and you'll like it! A popular expression but one that is true for this bar/restaurant. This is my daughter-in-law's favorite place in Seattle and she knows her restaurants.

That title pretty much says it all. This is Italian food like you would find in a high-end restaurant in Italy, served up in an intimate but high-energy space. There's a charming courtyard, but even the interior tables feel like you could be sitting in a Tuscan garden. And the food -- simply spectacular. Fresh and simple ingredients prepared perfectly. The best food on the plate always lets each component become more together than it would be alone. Fiori de Zucca is the perfect example: zucchini blossoms stuffed with an ideal combination of cheeses and tomatoes, fried perfectly; you could identify everything in the dish in one sublime bite. Service was what you always want in a restaurant, attentive yet unobtrusive, anticipating your every need almost before you realize it. The feel here was very European. We definitely felt that once we had our table, it was ours as long as we wanted it, unlike many US restaurants that want to turn their tables as often in a dinner service as they can. And just to gild the lily, the live jazz complemented the food and ambiance yielding a thoroughly delightful evening.

We love this restaurant. The food is always great and the drinks imaginative. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting as is the staff.

Enjoyed an evening dinner here with friends while we were in Seattle. At our request we were seated at a table in the bar area. If you are lucky enough to get our server, Tony, you will not be disappointed (call ahead for eves he works). His knowledge of French (among other) wines, his first-hand reviews of menu items, along with his broad smile, all added up to a fabulous, relaxing dinner which we will never forget. Start your meal with an appetizer, (try the mussels, Cozze Affumicate!) and work your way thru the menu from there. Every morsel on our 4 plates was perfectly prepared & presented. Let Tony recommend the wine pairings; he never went wrong. This place rates 5 stars in anybody's book.

We have driven past this place countless times. FINALLY we decided to give it a try. First, parking can be a real problem in this neighborhood. The residential streets are narrow and the restaurant does not have a parking lot. You might have to walk a bit. We were there fairly late at night, so getting a table was not a problem. Surprisingly, it was still quite busy! Our waiter was friendly. We all had pasta dishes, which were very good. I tried the gnocchi. They were more doughy than I'm used to, and the sauce was rather citrusy. I liked it, but I don't know that I'd order it again. Another in our party had the bolognese and really loved it. We had no room for dessert. Prices are a bit high, but the quality of food and atmosphere are part of what you pay for. This is a good place for a special occasion, but not necessarily somewhere I'd go on a regular basis.

Was in town for a meeting and went to Serafina with a group of about 8. They were great accommodating us and we had a nice corner round table. It's a lively place with lots of action, not super quiet. They brought some amazing rustic homemade bread with olive oil. Wine selections were mostly italian, and we found a fine tastily one for about 42 a bottle. I had an amazing salad of beets, fluffy ricotta, pears, croutons of pumpernickel and arugula, Yum. My homemade pasta with lamb bolognese sauce was to die for. The Lasagna and Eggplant entrees looked great and my friends reviewed them well. Lots of great apps and deserts. This is really a nice and popular place off the beat and track from downtown, on the east side of Lake union. We ubered there but it did look like there was some street parking nearby. I will definitely go back, worth it for sure, and a reasonable check for such a fine meal.

Real bread! I've lived in Europe for the last 14 years and it's so refreshing when I vacation in the States to find a restaurant that actually serves real bread. Small menu, OK service and OK food, but the ambiance of the back patio on a beautiful day, the neighborhood feel of the restaurant and the fact that it's not a chain make for a nice experience.

Have been long time fans of Serafina, but never visited for Brunch. That changed today, not sure why we waited so long! Fabulous and diverse menu with choices for every taste. Classic Bellini's (made to the original recipe from Harry's Bar in Venice) or mimosas by the carafe are a great way to start your meal! For the Primi course our group of four enjoyed the seasonal fresh fruit plate (nectarine, melon, plum, watermelon, and grapes!), almond cake and currant scone with fruit compote, salad of Bibb lettuce with chive tarragon and a buttermilk herb dressing, and Salumi con Formaggio with house made pear marmalade. All were plentiful and delicious. Secondi choices were grilled NY Steak with a red wine poached egg, Brioche French Toast with cherry compote and house made fennel sausage, and Plin of duck confit Agnolotti with thyme butter and Parmigiano Reggiano. All were expertly prepared and wonderful! House made bacon was subbed in at no charge and was amazing. Our server Katie was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and the ambience was enhanced by live violin music. A great addition! Go for Brunch, just another reason to visit this neighborhood gem at the corner of Eastlake and Boston St.

We recently had dinner in a large group at Serafina. Of course there is absolutely no parking set aside so you're on your own to find a spot in the residential areas. You might luck out or not. The restaurant inside is beautiful and has outdoor seating. It's much larger inside than it looks. We sat inside and the windows were open which provided a pleasant breeze. The restroom is clean and easily accessible. Waitstaff were excellent and attentive. I believe their wine list is excellent and the beer I had on draft was wonderful. Although the bread was cold, it was chewy and wonderful and there is both olive oil and balsamic vinegar at the table. Yum. I ordered fresh king salmon which came with a chorizo-corn side and some strange deep fried dumpling like salmon concoction. I believe the entree was around 40 dollars but I'm not sure. The salmon was bland--sockeye has a much stronger flavor that I prefer but this fish was not only bland but unseasoned. The flesh was firm and cooked well. It came with some sauce underneath but this too had almost no flavor. I ordered my corn mixture without the pork and it was good--charred and cooked well. The dumplings were unedible. The breading was soggy underneath (greasy) and the inside was some salmon-cream something mixture again without flavor. They also did not look appealing. Roasted potatoes would have been better. My son had the steak which he liked. We ordered two desserts--something with lemon which was again somewhat bland although I will admit I like a strong lemon flavor, There was also some chocolate thing that tasted chocolatey but the cookie like thing was soft when it should have been crisp and crunchy; however, it was eaten quickly.

We had dinner with friends there and it could not have been better. The food was wonderful. I am trying to be vegan but some of the meat dishes really made me think twice. They all sounded so good and tasted amazing. No I didn't order them but I tasted the others at the table and they were just awesome. Service was very good but just like anyplace in Seattle, parking is a little bit scarce.

It’s been years since we visited Serafina. Though it’s challenging to find parking, it’s worth driving around to get a spot. We didn’t have reservation and waited couple minutes at the bar. The hostess walked us to the table for 2, we got drinks and tried to pick a main course from the fantastic menu. I settled on rabbit pasta and small salad. I can speak for my husband since he finished my course. The ambiance was great, the service was excellent.

Had wanted to go to Serafina's for several years. Living on the Eastside, being well aware of the commute to Seattle Eastlake Union for dinner, seemed a feat. Bringing out daughter home to downtown, we committed to finally coming to Serafina's. I called for reservations which were booked on a Monday evening. The hostess was able to squeeze us in for the close to 7pm time we requested! The setting is located in a quaint neighborhood overlooking the lake, although the restaurant doesn't have that view point. The setting is quaint, warm and welcoming. We were sat in a small window seat that added to the warm, romantic, feel-good ambiance. We had the Calamari, Bread, and Salad as starters which were tasty and impressive. Service was amazing. Many large tables made our meal service slower than normal and they brought nice tastes to occupy our time and hunger. The entrees were worth the wait: Scallops, Seasonal Pasta with truffle & mushrooms, and Lasagna. All were shared and devoured. The taste had depth and substance. We cook well and want even better; SERAFINA did not disappoint. The ambiance, street view and service were what we look for when wanting fine dining and new experiences. Furthermore, the prices were acceptable for the quality. I WILL RETURN!

We had been looking forward to a special birthday dinner. We’ve never been to Serafina, but it had been on our list for a while. Unfortunately, we ended up wishing we’d chosen a different restaurant. Here’s the deal: Atmosphere here is nice. Subdued lighting, nice settings, but tables are pretty close together so you end up bumping into the customers at other tables when you pull your chair out. Service should be a lot better. Our waiter was friendly, but that’s about it. He was dressed in a black T-shirt and a somewhat soiled apron. Honestly, when he first came to the table we thought he was the busboy. Throughout the meal he was pretty inattentive. We had to flag someone else down for water and the woman who brought out our entrees basically just shoved them at us and rushed off. This occurred despite there being a large number of wait staff hanging around. We’d booked through Open Table so he knew it was a birthday celebration and asked “Who’s birthday?” We told him we both were celebrating a birthday (three days apart). He then told us his birthday had been the day before and that was it. No little dessert with a candle, no manager stopping by to wish us Happy Birthday, although we did see him floating around other tables. Not a huge deal, but for a high end restaurant they missed an opportunity to make it a special night. But wait, it gets a lot worse… The food, oh my, the food was such a huge disappointment. Given the reviews we’d read we were expecting very good Italian food. Hmmmm. Both entrees were $24 and the spaghetti was not a large portion. The Rigatoni tasted like, I kid you not, Chef Boyardee, seriously, like it came out of a can, except that the pasta was very underdone. The spaghetti was supposed to be a spicy dish and, as I like spicy food, I asked for it to be extra spicy. What I got was a very bland and sweet spaghetti sauce. No hint of spice or heat at all. Ugh! No one bothered to ask us how our meal was. Worst of all, the upcharges. Let’s tick them off: 3% wage fee (although Serafina is hardly the only Seattle restaurant to add this charge), Bread for the table with olive oil is $5, if you want them to split an entrée it is $5. Most restaurants do this for free or charge $2 or $3. Worst of all I ordered a drink that is not on the menu. It is not a complex drink, it is basically a mint julep. I specified that they could use the house liquor. When the bill came the drinks were $10 each, which is high, but the amazing part is that they charged $3 for a “special drink”. I had two drinks and they did this for both of them. So they charge an extra $3 for the bartender to mix a drink!! Wow!! We dine out a lot and I have never, ever been charged for the bartender to do what a bartender does. I get that Seattle is not known for Italian food, but I’m not sure why this restaurant has so many good reviews. We will not be back.

This is a favorite restaurant of ours in Seattle. The food is consistently great, the service is wonderful and it's a romantic atmosphere. We had dinner last weekend and sat outside on the patio. The wine expert recommended a lovely wine that we decided not to try. After he brought us the bottle we had selected, he delivered two glasses of the wine he had recommended just so we could try it. It was fabulous wine and an example of going the extra mile for great customer service. This is a perfect date location or good for smaller groups. Not ideal for young children as the tables are located pretty close to each other and it's more of an adult-type restaurant.

Have been here a couple of times during my visits to Seattle and every time loved the spread they have. They keep refreshing their menu often but every menu is hand-picked. My husband is a vegetarian but he had multiple options to choose from. The staff is very professional. Highly recommended for Italian food lovers.

Stil Nice Italianen food good service and a pretty terrace in THE back great for lunch when THE sun shines

Serafina is a perennial favorite. They have a very good wine list, including a great selection of northern Italian wines not commonly seen. Mussel appetizer is a great start. My companion had the halibut and raved. I had a duck confit agnelotti that was good but not outstanding - sauce was a bit bland. Unusual at this restaurant to not have a memorable meal. The staff at Serafina is excellent; attentive but not intrusive.

Very noisy on a Saturday night. Could not wait to escape. People jammed in the place. The pasta special was actually returned as it arrived cold. Underwhelming even when hot. Drinks were very good as were the appetizers and dessert. My party all thought the mains were ok but not great. Over-priced when compared to similar restaurants East of the Mississippi and not as good. Maybe normal for Seattle. Team approach to service. IImpersonal

This is a bustling (i.e. not quiet) restaurant in a residential neighborhood well away from downtown. We had an excellent meal -- our dishes were carefully prepared and tasted wonderful. (We had mussels in a broth/soup that were fantastic, and then a filet of trout and a hearty pasta/mushroom/cheese dish. All were great!) The servers were busy, but friendly and attentive. We will definitely go back.

My wife and I are 100% Italian descent and grew up in outside of NYC, we know our Italian. This restaurant is extra special and does not disappoint in any facet of the experience. The food was spectacular. We started with an olive bowl appetizer - the olives were crisp and tasty. Next, we had their bruschetta with 3 different toppings. It was spectacular. I devoured the free bread with oil and spices. The lettuce and radicchio salad had a tangy edge to it, but was great. I'm a big bread fan and theirs was excellent. We had their lasagna and tagliatelle special for our dinners. Once again, amazing. Finally, their mascarpone cheesecake was spectacular. The waiter was attentive, friendly and never over-bearing. This is a 5-star spot all the way! We cannot wait to go back!

Went here several weeks ago for Mother's Day brunch while i was in town. The restaurant itself itself is cozy and warm. There was live music being played, which was fun and added the atmosphere. Since it was mother's day brunch, i'm not sure what the brunch menu is like on regular Sunday. It was two course price fixed menu, I had a small selection of pastries for my first course, which was awesome. The second course was eggs and ham, it was good, but not as good as i thought it should be. Everyone else in my party seemed slightly disappointed in the second course, while it was good, it was missing something. I'm not sure if the waitress was just busy, but she annoyed with us, even though we had no special requests or anything out of the ordinary.

Food was very good. I had halibut. Nicely done and presented beautifully. Husband had spaghetti. Disappointed that the sausage had lamb in it so he got it without meat. A little spicy Really wanted to eat outside but the tables were full.

Ask for a table out doors if the weather permits. The food is creative and wonderful! the service is also exceptional! Great wine and beer selections.

Superb food ~ service ~ ambiance ~ menu selection. This restaurant is beyond excellent, the food is consistently great. We love the pasta selections - different and unique flavors. We have been throughout Italy from Florence to Palermo and think this restaurant rivals the best Italy has to offer. The seafood and beef is always prepared correctly and oh so tastie. We have one suggestion... Don't miss this restaurant. You too will become a raving fan!

We recently were in Eastlake on a Sunday and decided to make reservations at Serafina's for brunch. I am so glad we did, I have rode by this location many times and the outside always looked so inviting. It was a lovely Sunday afternoon so we were able to sit outside in a charming back courtyard. The hostess was extremely friendly and sitting us promptly. Our waitress was April who was equally charming. She was very patience with us as we asked questions regarding the menu. We decided to have the pitcher of mimosa, and then finally decide on what to order. They do have a Prix Fixe for $22 dollars. The couple we where with both go that, one ordered the Ravanello (butter lettuce) and the other the Frutta (seasonal fruit) both outstanding. For our second course two of us got the Uovo, and two got the Al Forno which is served in terra cotta pots. All of the food was amazing and unique. We finished with a plate of cookies and coffee before heading out. This is not a cheap place, but we really enjoyed our unique meal and had a lovely time. The parking is on street parking. But we had no issues as it was Sunday, I am not sure what it would be like on a weekend evening for dinner. They did have live entertainment inside that we could hear as we sat in the outside courtyard. I will for sure be back for dinner or to try other great selection on the Brunch menu.

Get the mussels. My mouth waters when I think about them. The server gives you a spoon along with the bread so you get every bit. The cocktails are wonderful; they make them exactly as you like them. Ask your server to have your wine selected to go with your meal--it's always the right wine. Love your server; they are all great. Oh, and don't forget dessert.

I came here with old friends and loved it. It is always best for the locals to pick the place to eat and I was not disappointed! The atmosphere was warm and comfortable and the staff friendly and accommodating, The waitstaff was helpful in selections and tweaks to dishes w=to make it a personal experience. The wine list was great and so was the dessert - i had the gelato. My pasta was tender but not soggy and sang with flavor! They allowed us to sit back and chat and take out time.

Hadn't been to Serafina for a while so met some friends. They seated 7 of us in comfortable large table by the patio. Service was excellent. We ordered a bottle of wine and brought several to open - no corkage fee since we bought a bottle. Everyone's food was excellent. Same experience as usual and wondered why I had stayed away so long!

Perfect evening night out sitting on an outside courtyard garden. Nice variety of menu choices and seasonal specials. Wine recommendations were very good. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. My wife had a house salad while I had an grilled octopus appetizer. She, then had a house-made pasta and I, a salmon from the specials. Fresh and extremely tasty. We chose a chocolate dessert that is made in-house. The nicest restaurant experience during our two week visit to the Seattle area.

We picked this restaurant from the Open Table gift card we had received. It was within walking distance of the relatives we were visiting, so it was a nice stroll through the neighborhood. We were seated promptly, although because it was crowded, we were up against a stage or something that made for some strange moves around us by the staff. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, but at times hard to hear. That was either because of the noise level or her voice, I'm not sure. The food and wine were excellent. I had the Plin d'Anatra, which was rich and delicious. I don't remember the other's choices, but everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals.

Serafina never disappoints. Everything, from the olives to the salad to the pasta, is delicious, and the service is fantastic as well. Would highly recommend the Agnolotti dal Plin, but you really can't go wrong. Will continue to return!

You know how warm and comfy Sleepless in Seattle makes you feel? Serafina will make you feel that way too! It is tucked away on Eastlake not far from where Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan filmed their Valentines Special Movie. The hotel has a Lively Seattle cool to it. The front desk people were fun, our server had a sassy fun attitude and then there was the entertainment that joined in the crowd. Oh the food....that's right ...your supposed to rate the food in these reviews. he menu has a little something for everyone and the food is good, B+ here. Will we go back ....see you there on Valentines Day....I'll be the one that looks like Tom Hanks & yes the wife looks like a bit like Meg!

My wife and I had dinner on the terrace here on a beautiful evening in July. Everything was fabulous, from the pre-dinner cocktail (try the Manhattan Superiore and the Elisir del Fiore) to the Cozze (Mussels, smoked tomato, harissa, sweet vermouth). Entrees are fantastic, service is exceptional and the wines are just grand. Highly recommended.

I have eaten here many lunches and dinners over the years. This time of year, the prix fix lunch menu is always great. The food is Italian, but high end. You get to chose between a couple of soups or salads, one entre from a choice of about 6, and then a choice of desserts. Everything is great. With the warm days here, go for lunch and eat on the patio in the back. The place gets busy at night. Many regulars. Live jazz some nights. The mussels at lunch are incredible.

We had an enjoyable dinner. It’s nicely furnished, tables aren’t too close together, the service was perfect, the food well prepared. Like other fine Seattle eateries, the ambience is young and boisterous. First time I ever ordered lasagna in a restaurant (the lamb ragu called to me :) jand it was tasty. I’d go back and recommend without hesitation.

This is a delightful restaurant! Nice outdoor patio enclosed with greenery and trres!! The menu is thoughtful and diverse as is the wine list & cocktails. I think however it may have gotten a bit too comfortable with their packed reservation list and are resting on their past. The place is delightful and has a great genuine neighborhood feel but they are charging higher end prices and need to deliver food that matches these price points. The service was slow in the bar and in the restaurant. They also did not follow up on requests or questions nor did they check on us. The bar appetizers were delish and wonderfully rustic. The bread and oil were great. However The salads, pastas and mains all were missing little touches, seasonings, & oils or there were temperature issues (ie warm lettuce or cool pastas). The bread snd water service was stellar. The wine steward "som" made nice reccomendations but was frantacilly rushed. Deserts were adequate. I think the house manager needs to do some fine tuning as this place could be wonderful. Ps: use better pasta too!! If in the area stop in for drinks & or wine and appetizers. Orherwise....

This is a pleasant restaurant a few blocks from Lake Union. It has well prepared Italian dishes and and a menu that has a variety of options with preparation that that is consistent .Service is personable and attentive.Wine list is adequate. Good when you want a low key relaxing evening meal with a minimum of noise . The same owner as the nearby Cichetti which is a fun ( but sometimes noisy ) spot as well.

We're in Seattle for an extended stay in south Lake Union and happened on Serafina. It's a great neighborhood place. My lasagna was amongst the best if not the best I've had. My wife had Mellanzana alla Serafina which was thinly sliced eggplant rolled around cheese and other stuffing. It was excellent as well. Sit outside, weather permitting. We'll definitely return.

Delicious and innovative food in a charming little restaurant. Great menu and service. Good wines by the glass as well as bottle. Would definitely go back!

Enjoyed a dinner here recently and really enjoyed their mussels. We had not been to Serafina for quite awhile but I was reminded why we liked it when we went in. It has a nice atmosphere and a décor that works well for the restaurant. It is refreshing not to have the high ceiling industrial restaurant look that has been so popular lately. The tables are fairly close and it's a smaller restaurant but it didn't seem as noisy as some of the restaurants in Seattle. We thought the lasagna was very good and the pasta with the Bolognese sauce. Everyone raved about the mussels which was a highlight. We were disappointed that the salad with the anchovies and egg had eggs on it that had been prepared much earlier and refrigerated rather than prepared fresh when the dish was prepared. It would be a lot better if the eggs were prepared when you ordered your meal. We had biscotti for dessert which was good. The service was excellent, we could find parking, we didn't have long to wait for our table, etc. and the food was very good. We would go back again. The food isn't cheap but Seattle has very high pricing now for dining out (like los angeles and san francisco) so we felt that the food was very good for the pricing.

With only a few weeks to plan a post-wedding brunch for my son and new daughter-in-law and the visiting families,I worked with Maxine, the restaurant's catering manager. She was busy and so was I, so communication had major delays. Nevertheless, with little input from me, Maxine organized a brunch for 40. She was flexible enough to accommodate the additional 20 people that showed up unexpectedly. Thee setting was beautiful and the service was outstanding. The food was wonderful and our guests raved about the monkey bread, the potato gratin, the french toast and other delightful dishes. It was an exceptional experience and we celebrated our wedding in style.

Good News: Cozy, quirky decor, clueful staff, and among the most remarkably flavorful Italian food this side of the Mediterranean. Bad News: I can't stop thinking about my meal there! Caveat: Eastlake parking - what can I say? Frustrating. But worth it.

Celebrating my birthday, the three of us had a wonderful meal, full of good flavors. The caprese appetizer has thick cut tomatoes and wonderful mozzarella, the charcuterie was more than enough for the three of us to share. The short ribs were rich and meaty and the eggplant involtini was a taste treat. We enjoyed their manhattan especiale to start and ended with tartaletta that was rich and chocolatey. Our server, Fern, was attentive without rushing us, and suggested the perfect wine to go with our meals. The overall decor is charming, dark inside and a small brick courtyard outside, lit with small lights creating a perfect summer atmosphere. We did enjoy the radiant heaters, though! After a short walk in the neighborhood, we noticed live music (piano and bass) as we walked past and could not resist going in for a nightcap. A great night and we can't wait to return!

Just ate at Serafina last night with my hubby & another couple. None of us had been there in 10+ years and decided to go back...Sunday night over Labor Day weekend and the place was jumping. Glad we were able to get a reservation. It was a little loud since they had a live jazz duo but we quickly decided we were up for it. The food was as good as I have ever had there. We had the Salumi platter (prosciutto, salami, cappicola, cheese, mustard and pickled veggies, 3 cheeses that our server selected - delicious. The caprese was served with large, ripe heirlooms and I could not have been happier! We tried all 4 salads and they were declared winners...2 lasagnas at the table were a HUGE hit - get this if you want lasagna for sure!! I had the amatriaca special and it was the best I've tried anywhere...the pancetta was in bigger "chunks" and had huge flavor. The bucatelli pasta was perfectly cooked and the whole dish just had a lot of flavor. The 4th entree at the table was the Bisteca and WOW - so delicious and perfectly cooked. This preparation had layer upon layer of flavor. Every bite was savored for sure. The sommelier brought us something delicious that he recommended and I wish I could remember what it was but suffice to say, I would trust the man with my suture wine pairings any day,,, We ended up staying for some dessert...cream puffs (with ices cream), some sort of cappucino pot de creme and the cookies were delightful. We had a great after dinner cocktail that involved espresso, kahlua and baileys served chilled/up like a martini...just get it! Our server Natalie was an absolute delight and brought that wonderful feeling of a true neighborhood joint where the servers feel like friends. All 4 of us vowed to return more often...Lovely evening...

I haven't been to Serafina for a ~l~o~n~g~ time -- silly me! What a great place to *uncelebrate* Inauguration Day with a friend. I did the prix fixe with the Cavolo and salame panino; my friend had the Melanzane. Neither of us was disappointed. I will go back sooner rather than later just to have the Cavolo again. The presentation was exquisite and the dish amazingly tasty, the egg perfectly done. The salame panino was tasty, just crunchy enough -- but I'm not sure why there would be more starch with it (although the crunchy roasted potatoes were awesome!) My companion thought that she would have the Melanzane again, too, although that she might ask to have the angel hair pasta left out -- the rich eggplant was enough, she said. The Trebbiano wine was inexpensive and just the right accompaniment. Great service; cozy place. Like I said.... sooner rather than later... (P.S. Do save room for the Affogato, even if you have to take food home!)

We have been to Serafina several times. The food is OK, and the noise level is unacceptable if you are trying to carry on conversation with your partner. Hi our last visit I had the rabbit imposter the rabbit was nonexistent tasteless and Austin the pasta. When we are spending over $200 on a meal we expect to be able to carry on a conversation and the food to be excellent. This is not been our experience at Serafina.

We had a lovely Sunday brunch with tasty cocktails and delicious, fresh, well presented food. Our server Erin did a great job explaining menu items so we were all very satisfied with our selections. Outdoor courtyard seating was quite nice. Prix fixe options on the menu are a great way to enjoy two items at a discount. This is definitely a lovely place for brunch.

Best restaurant I have been to in a long time. The food was amazing and the wait staff was great. The only negative was the place was crowded (not a bad thing) but really noisy! Had the cavatelli with rabbit and truffle - perfect. Tried the scallops - perfect, the lasagne - perfect, the pesto pasta - perfect, the cheese app - perfect, the salad special - perfect and the bread - perfect! Nice wine list and my favorite amaro.

This wonderful Italian restaurant is managed by great people who really prepare good food, BUT, I was greatly upset the other day when I went there to find that the restaurant was closed for a private party. The ENTIRE restaurant was closed to the general public! There was a notice on the door, but we had already driven over two hours to get there for the great food!!! Closing an entire restaurant for one party seems a bit unusual unless the event is done on a day when the restaurant is usually not open at all. I had waited all day to go there only to be unceremoniously stopped at the door. At least management could issue a discount voucher or something to those of us who depend on the restaurant to be open. That would have made the difference in my reaction, but no, there was not even an apology. It may be that I will not go there again just because of their indifference to my situation. I am only one customer, how many did they turn away???

I cannot recommend Serafina enough. We've been for cocktails, brunch & dinner - each visit memorable. The food is always great and its a great atmosphere. I highly recommend brunch, they have a live jazz band. If it's nice enough request a seat on the patio.

We sat outside, nice atmosphere. The staff was really nice and the food was great. Only downside was the wait, it took almost an hour to get our appetizer after ordering it. They volunteered to take it off the bill. We would have loved to have ordered desert but we were there so long we ran out of time. We will try again, the food was great and we hope the long wait was just a fluke.

We traveled 3 weeks in Oregon and Washington and Serafino was easily the best place we ate. Everything freshly made, just fine Italian dining. Of course the price tag is accordingly but acceptable. Especially the Arancini and the Agnello are recommended. Don't spoil your appetite on one of the pastas, the portions are quite big for this kind of restaurant. Service was just fine, unfortunately they had to spoil the evening a bit with an extra service charge on the bill. Nevertheless highly recommended.

Had dinner at Serafina again. This is on our "visit often list." As usual had a great dinner. My wife and I had misto to start, larger than in the past, and now served in a bowl. Fresh and tasty. I had the daily special, a tenderloin, cooked perfectly and paired with a nice selection of root veg. The steak was large. My wife had spaghetti, a standard and always good. We ended with a chocolate mousse. Great. The only downside currently is the cities non-stop attempt to end car travel. Major traffic problem getting there on Friday night and VERY limited parking in the area especially given the construction. The food is worth the hassle, just allow extra time.

It can be challenging to please a large traveling group of fab foodies with as diverse tastes as our group of 9 had - and still Serafina's manage to delight us separately as well as a group. Natalie our server gave spectacular service and was prompt and attentive as well as energetic and enthusiastic, asking about food preferences and guiding our choices when they were questions. Pasquale entertained us with tasteful enjoyable music and a lovely lilting violin that softly accompanied a lot of conversation and laughter over our companionable meal, and the manager thoughtfully sent over appetizers for us to sample while we waited. The food choices, in a word? Heavenly! Beginning our brunch feast with the rich buttery melt in our mouths spinach polenta (no food was left, by the way - every bite, and bit completely consumed) to my high stacked decadent pancakes and rich peach compote, complimented by the succulent crispy bacon and eggs on the side, I was so incredibly full I didn't have dinner that evening! Every single dish was shared and complimented by our 9 diners, right down to the grappa shared by the men at the end of the incredible meal - our only regret is there is NO Serafina's in Fort Worth or nearby Dallas.

Just outstanding! Best service I have had in years. Some of the best house made pasta I have had and kale Caesar salad with soft boiled eggs awesome. Thank you.

Our last night in Seattle and wanted something besides fish and Italian is always a good choice...Serafina was much better than good it was perfect...Our salads were unbelievable; I had the brussel sprouts and my wife had the baby beets...The flavors blended superbly...The lamb shank was delicious and my wife loved her shortribs...The service and ambiance--live piano in the background--created a memorable dinner and evening...go and enjoy...only drawback is parking so take a cab...

I would never eat here again. The service was substandard and the food mediocre at best. The dining room manager in particular was nasty and unprofessional. I wish I’d gone to one of the other 5 million restaurants in Seattle
Terrific Birthday for Wife!
On a warm summer evening, we sat on patio for dinner and had a very special experience. Service over the top (Fern primary server), pork chop best ever, wife had rabbit pasta (light on rabbit, terrific taste) and the ahi tartare over the top. Highly recommended. Will return - first visit.
