On my last night in San Francisco, I wanted to take my american grandparents out for a restaurant in order to end my stay in a great way. I came across this restaurant and although it doesn’t have that many reviews, it serves top tier quality Italian food ! The homemade pasta are excellent and I more than recommend that you take one of their delicious antipasti before getting to your main dish. My only regret is not being able to try the desserts because I was already stuffed. Affordable prices and located in a calm neighborhood, this restaurant is truly a hidden gem !

Small and cosy Italian restaurant. A hidden gem! We had not booked a table, but waited only 15 minutes for the table until 4. The lasagne is and recommend.

Three adults and a child. We split the grilled calamari, pappardelle. A couple of fish dishes. It was great! Yummy desserts. The food was fantastic and the service was great. neighborhood spot, casual. Good for a date or just a casual dinner with friends. Highly recommend. Nice wine choices. We went with a Sangiovese. It came to about $250.00.

I have no words! If you’re looking for an amazing Italian dinner ….you all must go to this adorable lil place! The calamari was incredible….pasta ….fresh and delicious! Absolutely Incredible!!!!!! We will definitely come back next time we visit SF !!!

Fauso the owner with Umberto in the kitchen make this place a typical Italian corner; the food is good and simple, and made expressly; the choice of wine list needs to be improved with a few more Italians as well as the choice of aperitif!! I would do a light refurbishment of the place!!

Fresh, fresh, fresh. The house-made pastas and the pristine fish were outstanding. Small place, classic flavors. Family run and a true delight. One of the best Italian restaurants we've ever experienced.

Terrific wait staff, speaking fluent Italian and treating us like we were the only guests. An intimate setting, serving authentic Italian food. We had the gnocchi which was made there and served with a terrific sauce. Anytime I visit San Francisco, I will make sure that I visit Serafina.

Excellent place and very good food. The most especial think is the music and the Italian attention for the crew. We will back

We met the family of the owners in the Piccolo Forno pizzeria where we immediately found a welcoming atmosphere and excellent Italian cuisine, we also came to try the Serafina restaurant and could not make a better choice. In addition to excellent Italian cuisine we were served by the friendly and knowledgeable staff who made us spend a magnificent evening, leaving us with a wonderful memory of San Francisco cuisine. Local highly recommended, a special thanks to Fausto, the number one!

A restaurant in a residential area, hidden away from the tourist crowds. We had a fantastic dinner, like in Italy. Fresh, authentic cuisine, great value for money.

Saw Serafina while driving by and stopped in for a wonderful Italian experience. The food was great but the chef and staff treated us as family as we told stories and laughed together. We can’t wait to return!

Positives: Location is lovely; room is nice but intimate so get a good table; pasta dishes were good...not great but definitely good; I liked the staff. Negatives: the antipasto were uninspired and the Caeser salad was also weak, fresh but dull. Overall: Solid good but not great--3.7. If they zip up the appetizers they would go up 1/2 star in my opinion to a full 4.

Excellent Italian restaurant. The spaghetti with clams, the aubergines parmigiana and the pinsa are excellent. I recommend it to you. Nice environment and very kind staff.

Very good restaurant serving typical Italian cuisine. The atmosphere and welcome are warm. The waiters were friendly and very attentive. The spaghetti carbonara was perfect as well as the other dishes that were ordered by the people of our group, accompanied by a good Amarone.

Excellent Italian food! We stumbled upon this wonderful restaurant as we drove home from the wharf one evening and noticed that it was filled with diners and made a note to return the next evening. Small neighborhood restaurant with delicious authentic Italian cuisine.

The staff was so friendly. I felt like I was in Italy. My meal was fantastic! We had the barrata…so good. My husband had pesto and I had linguine with shrimp. They were both excellent and made with homemade pasta. I am so glad that we ate here.

We dined at Serafina on the last night of our New Years visit to San Francisco. We had an 8:00 reservation and arrived to find the restaurant empty and feared we were keeping the staff from having an early evening off. We were greeted and seated with good humor and assured we weren't interrupting any plans. Later, several more tables were sat so we then felt less conspicuous, LOL. The food was excellent too. We first ordered a bottle of reasonably priced Chianti (especially for San Francisco) which turned out to be delicious. For starters we had the Caesar Salad and the Beet Salad. The Beet Salad was excellent and a large portion. We could have had it alone as a shared appetizer and been well fulfilled. For entrees we had Lasagna and the Chicken Picatta. Both were excellent. For dessert we shared Nonna's Lemon Cake which was more of a tart presentation but was also delicious. The restaurant is in the Russian Hill neighborhood and a bit off the beaten path for tourists which made it a great choice for us as we love trying neighborhood restaurants when we travel. We definitely recommend Serafina!

This place was recommended by the Ritz Carlton Residence - great suggestion. Food was superb as was the service and vide. The price was very reasonable. Great value, great night (11.14.22).

Wonderful experience in this very nice and very Italian based restaurant located on the corner of Jones and Broadway. Excellent meal, nice wine to go with. To be known and shared with friends.

Had a lovely meal at this restaurant which we found via Google. It’s set in a nice location. It was quite busy when we arrived but we were served quickly. The food was wonderful. We had the lasagne with a salad and a starter. Would highly recommend this place if you are visiting San Francisco and like Italian food!!
Fantastico.
Had the squid ink pasta with Ocopus. Good house salad and they made a excellent white wine selection for me. What do they say, a Sanfransican treat.
