Excellent dinner!

By mshbnyehud |

On spur of the moment, my spouse and I went to Sevy's for dinner, and without reservation. Getting in was no problem at 6:15 p.m. Service throughout was absolutely superb! We split 3 dishes. First was an appetizer of smoked brisket empanadas, 4 large tasty items with an incredibly delicious sauce. It was clear that the empanadas are homemade, and perfectly cooked. Loved it. Then we split a wedge salad, served crisp and cold with a nice bleu cheese ranch dressing (maybe just a bit too much ranch). Added bacon which really amped up the flavor (for $2 extra). Finally we split a house special of the day -- hazelnut crusted filet of sole -- which crushed it! Fabulous! Great flavor, nice texture, and slam dunk hot mashed potatoes. We were stuffed and happy, and left very full. No dessert this time. I also want to mention that they make a great drink with a nice pour of vodka (in my case). Loved the experience and we will be back!

Great food and location

Jim S does a great job -- over the years - the food and service are consistently great! Nice private dining room. Great bar area and service. Have been here on Christmas Eve and it was wonderful!

I love this place- especially for a late lunch

By nuggetshow |

I've been dinning at Sevy's since they first opened in the 90's. The decor of the restaurant is timeless, service is excellent, and the food is very good. My all-time favorite is "Macks Five Pepper Chicken", i was disappointed on a recent weekend lunch visit when it wasn't on the weekend brunch menu. But after a request to the waiter they prepared it for me ( and the chef came out to make sure it was to my satisfaction), not your typical dinning experience for sure. This is the best lunch spot in Dallas!!!

Limited Menu if you Don't Want Seafood

By laplume9254 |

My husband and I found the menu at Sevy's limited since we were not in the mood for seafood. I had an appetizer...the glazed beef skewers. It was delicious, 3 skewers to an order with a small salad. My husband had the rosemary chicken, which he thought was OK. Highlight was dessert which was an apple crisp. Nice atmosphere. Average service, we waited some time to be approached. This is a nice alternative if there is a wait at Hillstone or R & D. It has a neighborhood feel about it.

Great Restaurant

Sevy's is an old favorite in Preston Center. We had the salmon and it was cooked to perfection. All of the servers were friendly and helpful.

DELISH!

By katyflower |

Seven of us went here for a celebratory dinner and it was so very good. From appetizers to dessert! My Osso Buco was moist, tender, flavorful and wonderful. The sea bass and scallops were both wonderful, too. Appetizers of calamari, empanadas, Crostinis were all so good. The macaroni and cheese wS really nice, too. For dessert we shared an assortment. Citrus pie, tiramisu, flourless chocolate cake ( my favorite) and a chocolate torte. Chef Eric visited our table and was so fun and informative. It was so fun and the atmosphere made it even better. We WILL return.

Great food & service. We felt like family or VIPs

By PaulS65251 |

My wife and I were recently in Dallas for a funeral. We had only been to Dallas one other time in our lives. We stumbled upon Sevy's while driving around looking for a restaurant. We were met by the manager, Erik Severson, when we came in. He and the staff all made us feel at home. The food and service was absolutely wonderful. Sevy's is an upscale restaurant, but the prices are pretty reasonable...especially for the quality! Not many places can be five-star, romantic, inviting, and have the family feel all at once. But, Sevy's does. We were only in town for 2 nights, but we were so impressed that we went back the 2nd night. We had a different wait staff and Erik the manager was not around, but we had the exact same great experience, which indicated to us that the restaurant has the same feel and quality regardless of whether "the boss" is there or not. We highly recommend this restaurant!

Good Food & Great Service

By DonJancauskas |

Attended a group meeting here. Too many people crowded into small room. Everyone forgot how crowded it was once the food was brought out. Wife had salmon about which she raved for a week. I had short ribs that were excellent. Each plate had lots of food to the point more than half the group took home food or dessert.

Excellent Fish

By GG21GG21 |

I always enjoy visiting this neighborhood fish restaurant. The entrees are beautifully presented with large portions. I love the crusted sole and lemon pepper redfish. It's a great choice for dinner.

Food's good but the drinks are great. Park Cities scene place.

By BootsAreWalkin |

Good food, ok value. Drinks always strong and good - reflects the tastes of the Park Cities crowd. See and be seen place of the PC scene, particularly if you are on the newly divorced list. Not the top of the food chain in town but you won't be sorry you went. Eat well, be well, journey well down the highway of life. Peace to you all. Boots Davis

Not fantastic, not terrible

By LethalBritish |

Stopped by here last Saturday around 1 pm for lunch, not realizing they have brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. I ordered the caesar salad to start, loaded, with extra parmesan and anchovies. The salad was good, although I was disappointed with the quality of the anchovies - they were definitely not some of the better ones I have had. For my entree I got the almond crusted trout with roasted vegetables and potatoes. The fish came out very hot and the portions were good, but overall the dish was relatively bland. I sat on the patio which was nice, and the service was decent, but overall I don't think I would go back as the food was entirely forgettable.

Quiet Dinner

By Velena M |

Nice restaurant that is not a "hangout" type of restaurant. Appeared to be just the locals having their evening meal. The food was delicious. There were three of us and we had the Sea Bass, Lobster, and Scallops. We also ordered the Peach Crumble and Flourless Chocolate Cake for dessert. There were some other items on the menu that we plan to try at a later date. The wait staff was attentive and very knowledgeable about the different entree's.

Good food and Great ATMOSPHERE!

By Alicia T |

While in Dallas last week for business, Sevy's was chosen for dinner for our group of 10. Roger (pronounced ROHER) was our waiter. He did a fine job! Everyone had a different entree and all were pleased with their choice. I decided upon the Bay of Fundy Salmon since I visited the Bay of Fundy (Nova Scotia) the month before. It was a very good choice!!! For dessert everyone had something different. I chose the three fruit pie which like everyone else was pleased once again with their choice. Good food, electric atmosphere!

Looking for a great business lunch site?

In the Park Cities area, this one never disappoints. The energy in the room is easily felt by all guests. Great food and service.

Upscale lunch diner

By cooper12 |

The is a highland park classic. Food is good, service is great. Prices are ridiculous and parking is horrible. If in the area it is worth a upscale lunch if not don't go out of your way there's one in every nice neighborhood.

We can always count on Sevy's!

By K in cabo |

Absolutely amazing foid, service, atmosphere, and consistency. Sophie, our server was an expert at recommending the Rombauer wine, 5 grain salad, tuna poke, sea bass special, filet of sole, and filet mignon. Wow! The food was over-the-top delicious. It was hot, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. She also recommended the most incredible desserts of flourless chocolate cake and apple strudel with ice cream, which we devoured. Our guests were super impressed with Sevy's. Thank you, Sophie and Stephan!

Yum!

By yrn53449 |

Food was excellent! From appetizers to dessert. Wait staff was efficient and friendly. No complaints.

Terrible service, decent food

By Jen W |

I've only been once, but the service was terrible. When I voiced my complaint, the management staff was unresponsive and defensive. I will never spend my hard-earned money there again.

They might deserve excellent, if not for the server

By Sarmad K |

My 1st time here, and I like the place. We were group of 10 ppl. Our server was so lost he could not figure out who ordered what for drinks... he messed up the whole drink order... it took him at least 10 min to go back & forth to clean the mess he put himself into... the food was great. The salmon & filet were very good... I would go back there for sure, but will try to stay away from that server if I can....

Much Improved

By Johnmac541 |

Sevy's is much improved since my last visit in 2011. I felt the food just wasn't making it back then. They must have a new chef because all of the seafood was delicious. The ambiance is always pleasant, the service is friendly and competant. 4 of us for Christmas Eve Dinner and they were quite busy. I had Sea Bass deliciously pan sauteed with a wonderful sauce. My friends had Snapper, Scallops & Lobster Carbonara. I tasted all and they were quite good. The wedge salad was cold, plump, crispy and delightful. Lobster Bisque creamy with bits of lobster and the Caesar salad with anchovies was wonderful. Good wine list & wine by the glass selections. I am now a fan and can't wait to go back.

EXCELLENT FOOD

By Gbusiek |

There are so many excellent choices I can't cite a favorite. I eat here often so i get to try their great menu. I love the ambiance and the service is always top-drawer. I love the crowd at lunch...really energizing.

Great experience

By bryanj1972 |

Just finished dinner here while on a house hunting trip and my wife and I were blown away. The food was top notch, the atmosphere great and the icing on the proverbial cake was we had probably the best server we have ever had..anywhere..Spence was great and we look forward to visiting again in the near future.

Great for business or family or friends

By salvage_team |

At noon, the place seems to be packed with business people either just having lunch, or maybe with a client, doing a deal. In the evening, the crowd tends more toward the affluent residents of the surrounding Park Cities neighborhoods. The dinner menu ranges from steaks to seafood to wild game to pastas. (Calling it a "Grill" is a bit of an understatement.) Lunch is a little lighter. Dinner entrees $20-$35, starters $9-$14. Prices are reasonable for what you get. Solid wine list - nothing that will break your budget, unless you ask for the reserve list that the wait staff carries in their pocket. See-and-be seen kind of place with a lot of regulars, CEO types, and occasionally sports figures. Attire is dressy casual to business. Atmosphere is relaxed. Good bar - the cocktail shakers stay busy. I've never had much of a wait, if any, but a reservation wouldn't hurt anything.

Always good

By hillhifi |

One of the most consistent restaurants in Dallas for years. The food quality and preparation are exceptional and always have had a great time there. Sevy's is a Dallas institution that should be enjoyed by all.

Heard about it for years-should have gone before now!

By leskobear |

I took my son here for his 19th birthday. I was looking for a nice place, but one not too expensive, since neither one of us is savvy enough to know a $30 steak from a $50-60 one. Had heard of this place for years from others in my small town and wish we had found it sooner. The atmosphere is dark and elegant, without being stuffy-it's kind of a dark wood, Craftsman style. I had a couple of cocktails and as a previous reviewer said, they don't skimp on the liquor. We had the smoked shrimp cakes as an appetizer-came with some kind of greens and diced, seasoned tomatoes-very tasty. We both had the 8 oz tenderloin with a red wine sauce, grilled veggies and little onion rings. Had poached asparagus on the side. Appreciated the waiter saying portions were good and we didn't need to over order on the sides (which were reasonably priced). The steaks were very flavorful, cooked just right and melted in our mouths. Saved room for desserts-3 citrus pie-kind of like key lime- and a chocolate mousse cake. Very good. They discreetly comped my son's dessert, since I noted his birthday on our Open Table reservation. Overall, I thought it was a great value for the quality-just as good as what I've had at Capital Grille and Al Biernat's, at considerably less cost. Good service. Highly recommend and we will return!

Nice north Dallas neighborhood restaurant

By condryr35 |

First time visit for my wife and I. We were supposed to dine at Hibiscus during restaurant, but due to a botched reservation on my part we had to make last minute reservation at Sevy's. Beautiful restaurant inside. Very dimly lit with lots of wood. Enjoyed the atmosphere. The service was good, nothing spectacular and nothing to complain about. I had the special, tenderloin and lobster. The pasta it came with was very good. Steak was about 6 oz and cook perfectly. Lobster tail was on the small side. The tail was a little bigger than jumbo Gulf shrimp, but it was delicious. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her dish as well. After getting over the disappointment of not eating at Hibiscus, we definitely had a great meal. We would come back for sure

Always Reliably Excellent

By Lurline M |

Sevy's is my favorite Dallas restaurant. That says a lot because this is a city with many great restaurants. To me, several elements combine to make a great restaurant ~ menu options, food preparation, presentation, service, noise level, and location, Sevy's gets 5 stars in all categories!

I am usually impressed - but not so much recently

By William J |

I entertain clients and interview prospective employees and associates at this restaurant, due to its ambience and (relatively) quiet atmosphere. The lighting is okay for informative or educational discussion. As such, it has been a bonus that the food has been top notch. Last night was not the type I was used to. I did not make a fuss, as it was (again) a business endeavor, but I ordered the 8 ounce filet as medium well. It was medium rare. I can live with this. However, the filet was delivered to me in a sauce. I generally find that when there is extra seasoning and/or sauce in a slice of meat, it is an indication that the meat would not stand on its own and needed some help. This "was" the case today and it did not please me as much as it usually does. I hope that this is not a trend. I ordered the chocolate cake for dessert and it was a 6/10 - so it was a somewhat successful business meeting, but not with the caliber of food that I have been accustomed to receiving. Therefore, I will continue to have meetings here, but I will be leary of the choice of foods. Perhaps a seafood (which a colleague of mine had and admitted to it being good) dish will suffice in the future.

Great Meal, Wonderful Service = Perfect Evening

By TLShehan |

Although my wife and I had never been to Sevy's, we had heard great things about it and thought we would give it a try. Glad we did...the service was outstanding, the food was delicious, and the drinks were perfect. My wife had "shrimp cakes" and said they were perfect. I had shrimp and grits. Both meals were outstanding! Another nice feature was each meal is paired with a wine. When I asked about it, our server, Sophie brought out a taste. I really appreciated her attention to every detail. At the end of the evening we felt like family and plan to return for one of their signature course dinners.

Feherty sighting

By devroyn |

Had dinner with friends. The Atlantic Salmon was awesome. Excellent service as usual. Parking is a bit tight but we splurged on Valet. Saw David Flaherty there dining with friends.

Fabulous food and service!

By Mary A |

I've always wanted to go to Sevy's and Friday night was the night we drove over to Preston Center and did a walk in. No reservations...our luck! Beautiful restaurant. You could tell this is where to University/Highland Park crowd comes to have a nice meal. It also appeared that these waitors had been here for a very long time. I heard the Sea Bass was the best in Dallas but it's only on Saturdays...but flown in each Saturday for Sevy's. So we will be back. Outstanding drinks...I had to candy cane martini and immediately wanted 3 more...I ordered the Kobe short rib and it was out of this world...One of the best meals I've had at any restaurant in Dallas. My husband had the vegetable gnocchi and loved it as well. We will be back this Saturday to take in the Sea Bass. Highly recommend Sevy's for food, service and atmosphere!

Nice neighborhood restaurant

By SusanC |

Food was very well prepared, prices reasonable and service was good. All in all a good experience.

NaCl

By JoMKess |

We chose Sevy's based on their menu selections, but were somewhat disappointed. The gulf redfish was excellent, although there were a couple of very large scales found inside of it, and the orzo pasta it rested on was overcooked, a tad slimy. As for the lamb chops, well-portioned, perfectly cooked. However, the zinfandel jus accompanying the lamb was extremely salty. It's a good thing the diner did not use it. Same can be said for the Brussels sprouts, very well prepared, but unfortunately over-seasoned with salt. Went there once, will seek other locations next time.

More upscale than I expected.

By Jamie M |

So I flew into Dallas and after checking into my hotel tried to find some place close to eat. This popped up on my Trip Advisor and decided what the heck. I walked in wearing jeans and a t-shirt and instantly felt I was underdressed. The hostess assured me I was not but still...food was excellent. A little more on the pricy side but very good.

Good Food, Great Ambiance and Consistent

By ellenzelwell |

This lovely restaurant has stood the test of time in Dallas. I hadn't been to Sevy's in a couple of years and met a friend there this week. The fish was excellent and the chef is very cooperative in making substitutions or minor changes. The atmosphere is lively but very conducive to conversation - with no yelling necessary. Location-wise, it's well-situated in Dallas (vs. the suburbs) and tends to draw a local business and dinner crowd. Reservations ensure a "no wait" experience - always nice. In short, this is a restaurant you can always count on to provide a fine experience overall.

To be honest, and we should be…

By Just Outside the Hood |

We chose this location because of its proximity to our hotel just down the street and the wide variety of dishes to suit the tastes of the group. The very small parking lot in front of the venue serves many masters, so finding a spot was both strenuous and nerve-racking at the many aggressive challengers we had for the desirable spaces. Once inside, the tastefully decorated and spacious venue welcomed us nicely. Only after sitting down did we realize that majority of the surfaces had mirrors, so you’re always felt like someone was watching you… On the upside, the food was tasty. Notable mentions were the fried calamari with a seasoned flash fried coating that turned out to be absolutely delicious. All the flavors were good in all of the dishes however… The shrimp cakes had disappointingly little shrimp and more cake, the seafood tacos had a zing to them but we couldn’t really taste the seafood. The burger was thumbs up to the taster, and the pasta, tomato, chicken and garlic, was satisfying to the customer although really did need a bit more garlic for the girl. Sticking points included no water offered, very polite waiter however we had a hard time finding him when needed, and upscale prices for just an OK lunch. Willing to give a second try

Good place to be seen at...

Good place to be seen at the bar, always crowded. Great for business lunches. Food is creative and delicious.

Not terribly impressed

By 860SusanB860 |

Just dined here with another couple and I must say that none of us was overly impressed. Our server was just so-so and seemed distracted the entire time. He would take two drink orders and walk away (there were 4 of us!). One person in our party wanted an appetizer without two toppings listed on the menu and the waiter didn't know if that could be done. Really? The Fried Green Tomato appetizer and Goat Cheese Crostini were okay, but certainly nothing special. The Barbeque Glazed Salmon was by far the best dish of the night. The Angel Hair Pasta with Spinach was quite bland and tasteless. The Parsnip Gnocchi was a "gummy" disappointment with little flavor. The Dover Sole was actually soggy and undercooked. Every entree was very colorful and well-plated....but none of the dishes had any kind of flavoring that was enticing. Overall, we were quite disappointed with the value of the food for the quality. Service was also lacking for this caliber of restaurant. The interior was actually very nice and the Art-Deco decor and amber lighting gave the tables a nice ambiance. I just wish we had had a better meal and dining experience for the money we spent.

5 Star Meal and Service at Reasonable Prices

By Anthony P |

This place is beautiful inside. Plenty of seating and a full bar of quality beverages. The service was excellent in that it was attentive and knowledgeable on their menu. The food was cooked exactly to order. I went with the steak, and it was definitely a premium cut cooked to perfection. It melted in your mouth. The sides were excellent and fresh. No one in my party got the same thing, yet everyone was impressed with their meal. Highly recommend!!!

Superb

By 1ICECREAM1 |

Couples night for me & my lovely wife. The atmosphere is beautiful -- with excellent lighting and candles. Valet & desk check in. Our server was excellent - a professional. We ordered a bottle of wine with matching appropriate stemware. The appetizer was outstanding:: Crab cakes and the Wedge Salad was/is always great. My wife had the fish special : Grouper. It was very tasty with great sides. I had the duck fajiatas. Yum. and a glass of wine red . The wine by the glass program is outstanding here. Overall: Very deserving of 5 stars. The waiter & kitchen staff are superb. Go dine. !

Solid restaurant

By daveHou |

Tried to get into Hillstone's but it was jammed with an hour wait. We saw Sevy's across the street, checked Trip Advisor, and decided to give it go. Great decision. It wasn't nearly as noisy as Hillstone's, about 1/2 full when we arrived, and we were seated quickly. Food was excellent. Wait staff excellent. A large, fair priced wine selection. I'd go back.

Great lunch spot. Good salads and soups. Pasta tends to be a little rich, but still with flavor.

Good food and good service

By marie k |

With all the dining choices in Dallas it's hard to compete. You can count on Sevy's to offer a consistently well prepared steak or fish. Always cooked well but their presentation could use some updating/improvement. It's a staple in the Park Cities.

Food and service is always good!

By penphoto |

We enjoy the atmosphere and service at Sevy's for special occasions. Food is usually very good, somewhat overpriced.

Friendly staff and good food

By julio6925 |

I got there early since my plane was on time and traffic was light. They let me in early and were very friendly the whole time. The food was good and they let us order something from the dinner list for lunch. There is no question I would go back.

Consistantly good

By biznews |

Sevy's has been predictably good for over a decade but it never gets boring.

OUTSTANDING FOOD AND SERVICE

By Bluemoon2012 |

We had a business meeting and booked the private room, there is a minimum for using the room but if you are having a meeting be it business or family and friends you may not have seen in a while, it is worth the minimum. We three shared in the Sevy's Appetizer Platter for four. The shrimp cakes were the best I have ever had and I've had them on all coasts, North and South from Boston to San Fransico. the tomato basil crostini was excellent, the duck flautas and the crispy calamari, were very good and tender. For lunch I had the Fresh Bay of Fundy Salmon Fillet which was excellent! A nice twist with this plate was the buttermilk chive whipped potatoes with tobasco butter just right spices. Others in our party had different entrees from Salad to chicken sandwiches and all were commenting on how well the food tasted. Sevy's has been here for many years and has never lost their quality.

Great visit as usual!

By Stephen B |

My wife and I live 3 hours from Dallas, but make a point of visiting Sevy's when we are in town. Food and service are top-notch. Great steaks, seafood and appetizers. Restaurant has an intimate, neighborhood feel. Great place for a special night or just a casual meal.

Another fine meal-a great value in Big D!

By leskobear |

If you want a great steak and meal and not break the bank, this is the place in Dallas! Consistently excellent with good service. They aren't skimpy with the drinks and the desserts are excellent-try the triple citrus pie for a change-a great summer dessert. Low key atmosphere that's not too noisy.

Fantastic chocolate creme brulee dessert

By Collene G |

OK, here's the deal...they have the absolute BEST chocolate creme brulee! Actually I really do not like their lunch offerings, and the dinner menu is average. A lot of people think it's great. But all this matters little if you are a chocoholic like me. The chocolate creme brulee is so good I will put it up against any in the world!!!

Fantastic Neighborhood Gem

By Allenman63 |

We found Sevy's a few years ago and have been back two or three times per year since. Last night was truly exceptional. The service was absolutely spot-on. Our favorite dish, the Georges Bay Scallops, were once again incredible. We also did a lobster multi-course special which was five-star! The atmosphere feels bistro high-end which is very comfortable. Great acoustics as well. Easy on the ears without having to compete with your neighbor table's conversation. We look forward to another great evening!

Great for large party

By Karen L |

Excellent service, very good food, and large portions. Had a special pasta plate that was delicious and everyone in our party of 12 was very satisfied.

Fantastic Bar & Great food! Been in business 21 years!

By ARhorse |

Stopped in on a Sunday night (wow- open!) few people dining. at the bar, had a couple of martinis & ahi tuna - very good- a pumpkin spice martini! very nice bartender also!

Great Service

By Erik W |

My wife and I had our reception here years ago and it is a mainstay for special occasions for us. The food is awesome. The service is second to none. My wife and I try new restaurants all the time and still keep coming back here for special occasions. You will find a lot of great food in many restaurants around town. But to find good food and great service this is the place.

Excellent Menu and Food; Nice ambience

By Samantha R |

Our family of three dined at Sevy's on a Saturday night. The menu offers a wonderful variety and it was really hard to choose among the options. We each had a salad which was delicious. The entrees were excellent as well as the desserts. The only small issue we had was with service. The restaurant was not very busy early on a Saturday evening, but it took quite a long time for our server to show up to greet us (nearly 10 min). Also, the server didn't check on us regularly enough to keep our drinks refilled. That said, the food was so good, I will back when in the area again.

Good for a Business Lunch

By Christi M |

The food was good, but nothing to get excited about. I had a cup of Corn Chowder (Tasty) and a Chicken Cesar Salad that looked like they had taken a chicken breast and beat it until it was 1/8 inch thick, or they sliced it four times and everyone that ordered that salad got a single slice of the same breast. Apparently a lot of people have business lunches there, as most everyone was dressed in business attire. Parking is a bit of a problem unless you want to valet. I think this is a see and be seen place in Dallas. I would not return for the food.

Great atmosphere , great food

By Cindy B |

Upper end casual atmosphere. Great for grabbing just a drink, but stay for the food.

Excellent Local Fare

By Suze215 |

We came to visit our daughter, grand-daughter + family for a wedding week. Her in-laws are from Dallas and this is one of their regular places and it didn't disappoint. Getting off the plane it was the perfect spot for anything your heart desires after a long flight. Good basic pub food that they will make anyway you like. There were 17 of us in a private room. The service was excellent & atmosphere terrific. I had the grilled salmon, my husband had the NY steak my dinner partner had the wild game which was delicious. Wine was good, excellent selection. One of the women in our party comes here for lunch with girlfriends which she highly recommends. It's always wonderful to visit a city and have people who live there to guide you. We look forward to coming back!

Short ribs

By dallaslibby |

The short ribs were so unbelievably, incredibly fantastic. The restaurant was beautiful and accommodating. If we lived closer we would go there all the time. But, we live in Plano.

Very good family dinner

By norzee |

Sevy's is in a strip shopping center in Park Cities. Very nice environment, the service was courteous, fast and professional. Everyone thought their dinner was excellent. The two fish dishes my wife and I had were delicious and perfectly done, and those that went with the beef options were also happy with their selection. Wine list was short and relatively economical. The red I had was quite good. The reservation was for 7pm for 8 people and we were seated right away. DId have dessert, and those that did have some enjoyed it thoroughly. There was one special request dessert that they accomodated.

Terrific neighborhood dinner spot.

By SnowSkiMom_3 |

The shrimp cake appetizer was perfect for 2 to share, light and tasty, great flavors and portion. The sea bass with salmon salad was amazing, the quail was not quite as expected. Service was a little slow, and did not feel that our server was as knowledgeable about wine as I think he should have been. The tiramisu was outstanding - one of the best I've ever had!

Wonderful Lunch

By Teresa S |

Just ate here for the first time. It was suggested by a friend that lives in the area. We live out of town. Wow!! It was everything she said it would be. Our server was Jasmine. She was outstanding. Her recommendations were spot on. She was very pleasant, helpful and attentive. We ordered the grilled chicken salad and the club sandwich. It was delicious with very generous portions. We never had to ask for a tea refill. If it begin to get low someone was there to refill our glass Atmosphere is warm and peasant. We look forward to returning when we return to Dallas soon.

Great food and terrific gluten free knowledge

By Robyn G |

I was at Sevy's recently for a work dinner and the service was terrific. The waiter knew the answers to all my menu gluten free questions. The chef is able to alter most items to make them gluten free friendly. The wine selection was terrific and they had sparkling water on hand. It was a wonderful experience and it's highly recommended if you are in the Dallas area looking for a good meal.

An All Time Favorite Neighborhood Restaurant

By Dioc |

What a great restaurant that is about to celebrate 20 years. We went for dinner a few weeks ago and the dinner was a great as always! The Grilled Niaman Ranch Pork Belly starter was the best as was the Almond Crusted Sole. This restaurant is a great choice no matter the occasion or if you are just going out for dinner with family and friends.

Sevy's Does NOT Disappoint

By FederalExpress |

Sevy's knows what they are doing. From personalized care to fantastic food. We all ordered the Lobster Special and it was fabulous. Sevy actually came out twice and remembered our names. Genuine hospitality, fresh seafood and perfect service. We will be back when visiting Dallas.

Love this place. Great for a quiet dinner with friends

Good but not Great

By GMH 7 |

We recently visited Sevy's with an above average size group. Even on a busy Friday evening, the service was quite good and the experience was very pleasant. They have a good menu and nice wine list. My only "complaint" is that the food was not really inspired. It was good, but not great or even very good. In Dallas, that should not happen, particularly at these prices. But, if you want a nice evening, this is a good place, particularly if you are having a group of 6 to 10.

Great wine dinners

By cjg2901 |

We attend many of Sevys wine dinners. Always a great menu and fantastic wines. Sevy does a wonderful job to make it a special evening and always visits the group. One negative, the room gets loud. However, we enjoy going and sitting at a table of new people who are always interesting.

Best dinner

By Drr55 |

Family took me there for fathers day and food was outstanding - Rib Eye, Lobster Pasta, and Sea Bass. All was fantastic but what made the entire evening was the service provided by Pedro. He says he has been there a number of years but this was my first time with him. He is fantastic and wants everything to be perfect and if not he will make it so. Thanks for a wonderful evening.

Go-to place for my business lunches and dinner with friends

By MsTravels100 |

Great atmosphere to meet with people and actually be able to have a conversation. The food is consistently good and it's a dark wood, leather, club-like environment that is conducive to talking business. Last night we went with friends and it was great! Very reliable and consistently high quality experience. Service is very good.

Real Estate Crowd

By WeIITraveIed |

This place is known for commercial real estate power lunches in Dallas. If you are here for lunch and see a bunch of guys glad-handing and talking about their golf game, then its the CRE crowd. The food is solid.

A Nice Change of Pace

By Steve H |

We were looking for a nice restaurant to entertain out of town friends visiting the city on the occasion of their 50th high school reunion. With activities focused in the Park Cities area, Sevy's was an easy choice. Although relatively busy for an early evening reservation (7pm), we were seated promptly and offered cocktails and wine by a very attentive waiter. The menu had many favorites and we ordered them all, knowing it would be quite some time before we would be able to share another fine meal together. The steaks, fish and lobster were perfectly prepared, and distinctively flavored with hints of BBQ. Salads were adequate, but the lobster bisque was rich and tasy. We finished with two differently flavored creme brulees, one chocolate and the other traditional vanilla. Absolutely delicious!

Sevy's review

By Stacy D |

We had a fabulous meal at Sevy's last night. The food is a bit expensive but absolutely delicious. We had a wonderful waiter and great service. The tomato/mozzarella salad was so yummy. Lemon/Pepper Snapper was delicious.

Why do I wait so long to return

By DonEwing |

I seem to go here every couple of years with friends and each time it is a very good overall experience. The ambiance is great and you are able to carry on a conversation during the meal. Nice wine list and great selection of entrees.

Average is the right word in every way.

By Scott Charles |

Its not bad, its not great. Its average. We have eaten here many times over the years and never had a bad meal, but its just not somewhere you think, " I am really craving it". Its just there. Service is decent. I think maybe its designed to cater to an older crowd (less spice) as its always full of people that are getting their Senior Citizen discount.

Good food

By Kaz K |

Went there for dinner with colleagues who are not local. The waiter service was great and served very well. Appetisers were great especially the portobello; The steak was great with the red wine. And the tiramisu dessert was surprisingly outstanding! Worth while to visit again.

Disappointed for first time here

By Jim S |

Had heard a lot about this establishment, so took a friend there for business lunch. Very disappointed in my meal. Had corn chowder soup which did not have many ingredients in it, moderate temp. Then had Caesar salad which had so much liquid in it, one could swim to NW Hwy. in it. Waiter was pretty good. Thought the food was overpriced, but I am sure they have a lot of overhead. Bread was not outstanding, Really disappointed.

Wonderful Anniversary Dinner

By anneocrn |

My husband and I had a wonderful dinner here! It was our anniversary and we were treated to a free appetizer platter at the bar before dinner, rose petals on our table, and free dessert. Our entrees were excellent and everyone was so kind to us, even knowing we were from out of town! We love the atmosphere too, suitable for conversation. Thank you Sevy's and we just wish that you were closer.

Excellent Birthday Dinner!

By Triggerfish007 |

Sevy's a long time favorite never disappoints. The service, extra birthday touches-rose pedals and citrus dessert were extra nice. The food and staff could not be better. Thank you Sevy's!

Consistently excellent restaurant

By Marge C |

The food, the atmosphere, and the staff all superb. This is our "go to" restaurant. The chef came to our table and happened to mention the Ham Orchard Peaches that they were using for a dessert. We usually abstain from dessert but at his insistence we tried it. It was fabulous. We appreciate the effort and energy that goes into keeping Sevy's consistently excellent.

Had a great time at Sevy’s!

By MattRC |

Great ambience, service and food. Ordered the Penne Chicken Marsala, it was excellent. Server was attentive and at the table just the right amount. Had a great time!

Great Fine Dining Experience in a Comfortable and Casual Setting

By TheLearnedDoctor |

It is easy to underestimate how good Sevy's is because the interior is sort of casual and laid back. However the food is wonderful. I have only eaten there once, but I would gladly go back again. I had a fish dish on a bed of orzo pasta that could not have been better. If the food was placed in the setting of a restaurant like Nana, the Mansion or Fifty Six, people wouldn't be able to stop raving about it. It is not a particularly romantic spot for a date, better for a married couple that are more interested in the food than the company lol. Give it a try, the menu was broad and anyone could find something they would like. You could go in jeans or a jacket, it is a comfortable and pleasant place to dine. I

Nice spot in Park Cities area

By CBeam |

Met former business colleague here for dinner while in town. Good food and excellent service. I had the lamb chops and they were cooked perfectly. Friend had special fish and it was also delicious.

Great Service, OK Food

By Trish D |

Special of the day was pasta with beef tips and zucchini crisps. Pasta good, beef tips bland and zucchini crisps oily. Lentil soup beforehand watery. Disappointed and maybe have learned a lesson, not only from here but also from Cafe 43: special of the day may be leftovers! Go with what's printed on the menu! There were 4 of us who dined there last night, a Sun. after a nearby concert. Our friends had the veal dish and a salad. Both raved about their food. Husband had an angel hair pasta with chicken. He liked it but thought the pasta tasted like it only had olive oil on it. We tried to eat across the street at Hillstone, but the wait was 35 mins. Sevy's was nearly empty, so we ate there. The waiter, Pedro, was A+++: super-friendly and knowledgeable. The ambience was very nice, with low warm lighting and mirrors, tables and booths. We preferred the booth. Prices seemed slightly high for what we got, but still OK. Our friends would give it a great rating, while we would give it average, so it comes out to 4/5 stars, instead of 3/5.

Great Saturday night dining experience

By tucker81 |

What a nice night out! Stopped by early for cocktails - nicely poured drinks by friendly bartenders (Scotch menu was fairly extensive). After a tasty appetizer, moved into the lovely dining room for dinner. Spouse had the filet which was tender, flavorful and cooked perfectly. I had the Chilean sea bass special (priced fairly at $32). The sea bass was nicely presented, very well prepared and the artichoke mashed potatoes were yummy. Finished with coffee and the vanilla & chocolate creme brulee - which was just delicious and perfect to share. What more could you want? good drinks, friendly yet efficient staff, attentive chef preparing wonderful food in an attractive atmosphere. We will be back and bring friends with us!!

Labor Day

By Harmony5757 |

Just got back to Dallas from Aberdeen SD was not in the mood to cook so off we went in search for an open restaurant. Sevy's is nice you can actually have conversations without yelling. I ordered the salmon that came with a barbecue sauce which I was a little leery of (barbecue sauce in salmon) was pleasantly surprised great flavor. She had their filet which was perfectly prepared. Carlos our waiter was very good really knew his wines well. Over all very pleased.

Gourmet dining in a relaxing environment

By torchlakemichigan |

A warm inviting decor compliments an extensive menu and wine list. The staff reflects the owner's laid back style that has sevred the Dallas area for more than a decade.

Great food, but be aware

By Gayle M |

We dined at Sevy's last Sunday night & it was great. The food, service, atmosphere & friendly hostess were wonderful. The only thing that I would like to warn you about, was the price of their special that night. My husband & daughter ordered the T-bone for 2. We should have asked the price, but didn't & were shocked when we got the check. It was $97 for their streak & we thought that was excessive, but paid it without complaint. It was our mistake for not asking, but wanted to pass on this tip.

Sevy's is a find

By Valerie B |

My husband and I found Sevy's and love that this delicious restaurant is so near our home. We've been a half dozen times. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and fabulous service. The staff is friendly, attentive and make the dining experience most enjoyable. I am a fan of Saturday night's Sea Bass. The menu--food and wine--has depth and appeal. We look forward to making this a regular haunt.

A Dallas staple for this area

By JParlante |

Was looking for a place to eat after a charity event and passed this restaurant on the way there. It's a very nice and somewhat romantic setting with a rose on every table and subdued lighting. All the entrees looked good so it was hard to choose. Good wine selection and a most attentive service staf. All the service people were very attentive including the valet service. I'd return anytime.

Always excellent

By cookwoman_11 |

Just celebrated a birthday there and the food was wonderful! The waiter spread red rose pedals on the black table top for a dramatic festive touch. I ordered the special sea bass that was perfection. It wasn't too loud to sit and visit during and after the meal. (It was a Monday night and not packed) Their coffee is some of the best I ever had so was nice with the complimentary birthday dessert. Overall a delightful experience and felt really special even though I have eaten there many times before.

Food prep s reminded me of TGI Fridays and Chili's

By FamilyMan1963 |

The quality fails to meet the price standard. We had a table of five with no drinks at $70 a person. I didn't mind the price but when you get into that range I'm expecting a peppercorn sauce that's been carefully prepared with cognac. Instead we got a watery somewhat tasteless gravy with too much flour in it. Steak appeared not to be marinated, was grilled, so there were no drippings to be deglazed. Dry. My fish came with asparagus which was four halves of very skinny asparagus which amounted to three bites. A beef spare rib arrived that looked and tasted like pot roast swimming in butter noodles. The lobster bisque had a small amount of lobster in it but it was tough overcooked and rubbery. The trout and a redfish were very well cooked and tasty . One of the steaks reminded me of something you might find at TGI Fridays for $25. A side of french fries was very tasty. This is not a horrible restaurant...it's just slightly above mediocre...but it is priced like high French without the quality, finesse or skill. The service was excellent. The speed of delivery was excellent. The valet was excellent. I think the problem is they don't have a chef but probably have a cook. There was no reason to return, and several reasons not to go back.

Wonderful lunch and dinner location

By Dallastraveler49 |

Sevy's is always a very safe bet for an excellent meal. The attention to detail is wonderful, the staff very attentive, the menu diverse and the food always excellent.

Has been my favorite for years, but this time was a disappointment.

By leskobear |

This time was a disappointment. Our wedge salad was obviously prepared well in advance (heavy condensation on cold plate) and $2 extra for some tiny bacon crumbs that may have been bottled and had no flavor. The shrimp in my shrimp and grits were somewhat overcooked and the dish lacked seasoning and flavor in general. My wife liked her filet, but I didn't think it was up to par. Service was wonderful as usual.

Neighborhood gem definitely!

By Davelyn D |

Just stumbled upon this place when looking for something different for lunch. My husband and I like to try new restaurants for lunch dates. Sevy's isn't new, but its new to us. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Amber, our server was wonderful in every way; friendly and full of good suggestions and information, beyond what is on the menu. The wine list is extensive! The mixed grill special was phenomenal, sauces were fabulous. My husband completely enjoyed his tenderloin entree and Chimay. The creme brulee duo was yummy!! Sevy's has complimentary valet which makes parking nice. We will definitely return.

Wonderful dinner at Sevy's

By gidget1231 |

My daughter and I were in Dallas for one night and stayed at the Hilton Park Cities. A friend had recommended Sevy's, as it was close. We walked from our hotel!!!! It is in the Preston Rd./ Norhwest Hwy area. We had a wonderful dinner. Our server was perfectly attentive, but not too much so, and let us enjoy our martinis!!! They gave us a complimentary appetizer that was very good. My daughter had the Surf N Turf over truffle grits and I had the Sea Bass special with artichoke mashed potatoes. They were both out of this world. Please add Sevy's to your lunch/dinner list in Dallas. I would go back for the artichoke mashed potatoes alone!!!

50th Anniversary Party

By Ruth B |

We had a party for my Parents here with 30 guests. Sevy's made it such a breeze. They decorated the room and tables, saw to it that we were all happy and the wait staff was attentive. The steaks were delicious and large, especially for something off the catering menu. The corn soup was superb, if I passed up the lobster bisque, you know it was good. Managing my very picky mother is no easy task, but it was handled with aplomb and grace and I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Upscale Grill

By CTMans |

Sevy's has a large and active bar, but don't let the bar decor fool you. The restaurant serves some great food of all kinds. The salmon, in particular, is outstanding. Service is very attentive. Valet parking.

Amazing birthday dinner

By horsesofcourse |

We had dinner at Sevy’s to celebrate my birthday. The table was beautifully prepared with roses and rose petals. The service was spot on. Great energy, prompt but not pushy, and the waiter made several excellent suggestions. The prices were fair for the excellent quality of the food. All in all, a top drawer experience from beginning to end.

Very good and very fresh...

By Tanya W |

Very good and very fresh food.

Excellent food, upscale feel

By bclarke292 |

We had a business meeting here recently and experienced many of the dishes on the Menu. Everyone was very pleased with their meals. They all came out at the same time which is not always easy to do with a group. The food was great as was the service and atmosphere.

Nice food and friendly staff

By josepteresa |

Sevy’s Grill is a very nice and cozy restaurant. Food is nice and staff is very friendly. We were all very pleased with our choice, fish and meat. All dishes were nicely prepared and they were very tasty. Totally recommended!

Good food!

By SimonOnVacation |

Visited my Mom in Dallas, and we had dinner here at Sevy's. Place was a bit crowded and we got seats next to a group of women who were celebrating something and it was a bit noisy. It didn't bother us, though. The calamari starters were cooked just right - crispy and crunchy, not the usual rubbery texture as you would expect... The Salmon fillet was spot on, glazed and smoking hot when it was served. Buttery goodness and soft and juicy as well. You should try this. Got the 12oz NY steak and it was delicious! Tender and cooked to my liking as well. Will visit this place again when we return to Dallas.

Excellant all Around

By Gina L |

This place has it all! Top to bottom excellence. We are from out of town and had arrived after touring a brewery. Immediately the manager asked which beers we liked at the brewery and brought us samples of similar ones. Not only were they delicious, but they complemented our appetizers; I had the beef empanada and my husband had the shrimp. Disclaimer: I don’t view myself as a picky eater, I suppose I just have never had well prepared food items that make me thus avoid them. But, I am now a shrimp convert!! It was amazing. My husband had the Kobe beef short rib—phenomenally flavored! I had the quail upon the recommendation of our server and I was not disappointed. It had perfect flavor; tasty smoked flavor, tender meat, perfectly moist. We splurged on dessert and ordered separate desserts (this really is just so I can actually have two desserts—ha, ha, ha!). He went with the citrus pie and I had the flourless chocolate torte. I really appreciate a dessert that is more savory than sweet and the torte did not disappoint. I really enjoyed my experience and dinner here. I look forward to going back; I here the sea bass is not to be missed.

All around very very nice

By AppleStud |

Good service. Excellent food. The duck flautas was one of best appetizers ever. Very reasonable prices!

Local Favorite

By haddad007 |

The restaurant has been a staple of our area for years and has had its ups and downs as new spots have opened but they have always been consistent serving good quality food at reasonable prices. Last night was no exception and the restaurant and private reception room were quite busy. You need a res for lunch as it is a popular spot for a quick business lunch but you will not usually need one for dinner. They have valet parking so that part is easy. I would definitely go back again.

Dark and cozy ambiance

By TXTish |

It had been a long time since we'd eaten at Sevy's, and we were so pleased that it was still so good. It's a great menu; I had a tough time making a choice. I had the wonderful mozzarella, teardrop tomatoes, and arugula salad with a terrific basil dressing drizzled with balsamic vinegar. My entree was one of the specials--sea bass with potatoes and a small salad topped with smoked salmon. It was all delightful. My husband loved his corn chowder and beef fillet, slightly smoked and topped with a brandy green peppercorn sauce. We rarely eat all of our entrees, but these were so good that we couldn't stop eating until it was all gone. Too bad...no leftovers! This is REAL food, not that stuff that's tiny portions of something weird on a large plate decorated with drips, smears, and dabs of something or other to distract you.

Surprisingly intimate for dinner

By Dallastraveler49 |

We had an excellent experience at Sevy's right after Christmas. I have dined there numerous times for lunch, but not often for dinner. We had a table for six and the service and meal were excellent in an intimate setting. It was even easy to cary on a conversation at a large table. Everyone at the table commented on what a wonderful experience we had that evening and expressed interest in returning soon. We always find the food good, but this evening it was excellent. The prices are reasonable for the quality of service, cuisine, and ambiance. The wine selection is good and the bottle prices are very reasonable.

Dinner in Dallas

By Denise G |

Went to Sevy's Grill for a celebratory dinner with family and friends. The service was superb. The restaurant was tastefully decorated. The meals were fantastic. This place is definitely worth checking out if you are in the Dallas area.

Beef short ribs.... Yesssssssss!

By Angela R |

It was my first visit to Sevy's and I will definitely be back. Friday dinner (7-9pm), I sat at the bar and had the short ribs while a friend had one of the fish entrees. Both were excellent! Bartenders were attentive but not intrusive. And the atmosphere of the small bar area was overall relaxed and comfortable - boasting a friendly crowd. I can't speak on the main dining area, but the bar at Sevy's is nice without being pretentious.

Very nice place

By FunGuyXV |

I had the lobster linguini and it was delicious. The table next to me had steak and that looked really tasty. I will probably come back to try their steak. My date had the quail and I sampled her dish and quail is always good to me.

Birthday Dinner Success!

By Yrstrly |

I just recently had a 40th birthday dinner at Sevy's on the eve of 2-11-17. From the time I booked the restaurant to the day of the dinner the communication with the managers was top notch! They were able to answer all of my questions and even throw in some extra details to answer questions I didn't know I had. I had a total of 35-40 guests and our servers were fabulous and well attentive to our needs even up to cutting the cake for me (which I paid for but it was a very nice presentation) to taking the group pic of us at the end. Everyone enjoyed their food and even told me days after how great the food was. The chef came in at the end of the night and Thanked us all for coming and wished me a happy birthday. He was excited that so many people tried the shrimp and grits and loved it! I will definitely make Sevy's a favorite on my list of Dallas restaurants and will definitely be back! The service is top notch!! ❤

Exceleent service, good food but pricey

By Pete G |

Good menu choices, very prompt service even though wait staff was thin. Food was excellent, but rather expensive.

Good salad options

By MaloneV |

Not a spot for total foodies, but decent options including some healthy salads. No mention of free-range or antibiotic-free poultry or meat on the menu, nor any mention of sustainably farmed/caught fish.

Intimate relaxing restaurant

By Jenny M |

My son and his wife and I ate here when I visited them in Dallas. It was a very comfortable and pleasant dining experience. Our server was attentive to our needs without being intrusive. I enjoyed a pork chop entree (for a change) and my son and daughter-in-law‘s seafood dishes were equally delicious. But the service and the ambience combined with the delicious food are what really made our night. Highly recommend.

Great for Our Diverse Group

By mjtraveler |

So a vegetarian, meat-and-potatoes girl, 3 omnivores and 2 foodies walk into a restaurant. . . yep, that was our group! Our server was awesome with our wine selection - let us taste all the by the glass options (we were ordering by the bottle) before ordering. Smart! Food was very good - several tasty vegetarian options as well as delicious grilled meats and fish. We ordered a lot of varied food and sides - service was good, food was good, drinks were good - no complaints at all. I actually was so intrigued by the sides we ordered almost all of them and passed them around - yum. And, they had Van Winkle 15 year old by the glass. Loved it!

Not Worth the Hustle and Bustle

By ANSH90210 |

Mediocre food in a jam-packed noisy restaurant that had issues with handicapped accessibility. The service was spotty but there are better places in the same neighborhood. Give it a pass.

Return - Amazing difference

By Jim S |

Over a year ago, I had lunch at Sevy's with a friend, and it was not good. Wrote blistering review which precipitated a phone from Sevy's. How he found me, I do not know. He wanted another chance. Tonight, was my wife and I 61st anniversary so we went there with my son and daughter in law. IT WAS WONDERFUL. Service great, red fish fantastic. Everything was done perfectly. Thanks, Sevy staff. You more than made up for our last experience

Excellent Anniversary Dinner!!

By David M |

Our second visit to Sevy’s has elevated this restaurant to our Favorite! We both started with the corn chowder - which was creamy and flavorful. I had the NY Strip - cooked to perfection and the peppercorn sauce was amazing. My wife had the Smoke House filet and raved about every bite. Finished off with the best Tiramisu that I’ve ever had. Our waitress, Katy was friendly and attentive. We will be back!

Good food and efficient professional wait staff

Have visited many times and find the experience consistently good.Sometimes the bar has a lively crowd and interesting people.

Another delicious meal at Sevy's

By GailDink |

I really love this restaurant. It's not too noisy, the decor is pleasing and the food is always so good. Had the lamb chops with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. My husband had the bone-in porkchop with potatoes and red cabbage. Both meals were great. We split a dinner salad as they are enormous and it had green apples and candied almond slivers and the blue cheese dressing was perfect. The waiters are just the right amount of attentive. The restaurant was crowded but not too noisy. We always ask not to be seated by any large parties, which helps a lot. There are just a few booths in the back and the rest is tables for 4. Their cocktails are good too. There is a small parking lot and you have to valet which I think is ridiculous. They ending up parking your car 30 feet away. I never get that when there is a parking lot right there! Even with the unnecessary valet parking we keep going back.

Another great meal at Sevy's!

By Texas Family Travelers |

I have been going to Sevy's for about as long as they have been open, and just had to write a review after going there this past week for lunch. From the welcome at the front door, to the presentation of the check -- and all points in between -- a meal at Sevy's is a wonderful experience that involves friendly service, a welcoming atmosphere, great waitstaff, and fabulous food. My trout was perfect. This is an equally good spot for business as well as pleasure, and for lunch as well as dinner. Thank you to everyone at Sevy's, particularly Hilary and Roger, for making it such a great place to dine! I can't wait to come back in the spring to sit on the covered outdoor patio.

Not just a lone star but many stars

By PaulF1966 |

What a surprise evening- food very good, service great but what made the evening was the warmth, passion and energy of the chef owner and his son (who manages the place). Well done all of you - it's clear that you love what you do in every way. Thank you

Very nice place in Dallas for dinner

By Debbie A |

A friend recommended that we eat here while in Dallas and I am so glad that we did. Everything was delicious. We enjoyed everything about this restaurant. The staff was friendly and efficient and we will definitely eat here again on our next visit.

Delicious!!!

By Masharubu B |

I recently met an old friend, that I had not seen in a year. Sevy's proved to be a great choice. The atmosphere was perfect for good conversation. Our waitress seemed to either be to visible to us, or would forget about us, but the food was wonderful. I highly recommend the salmon and crispy brussel sprouts. A wide selection of wine by the glass was appreciated as well. A great choice for a cold night.

Very nice lunch

By Likeness |

I have always wanted to try Sevy's and thought a business meeting would be the perfect opportunity. They handled my request for a out of the way spot by giving us a very nice booth in the back. Pedro was our server and he was the best I have ever had at any restaurant. We had the shrimp cakes to start, lobster bisque, then Cuban sandwich, with two mixed grills (tenderloin, salmon over mashed potatoes with asparagus and peppers. For dessert the chocolate mousse cake. Everything was outstanding. The lobster bisque was so good. Another best I have ever had. My clients loved every minute. They left us to discuss business and did not hurry us out. Thanks so much!

Sevy's Is Consistently Crowd Pleasing

By Bob K |

No matter your taste, you'll find something you like on the menu. I had a Tenderloin Filet and my wife selected the Bay of Fundy Salmon. Both were smoked and grilled perfectly. The vegetable accompaniments were solid complements to these tasty entrees. We shared a bottle of Edmeades Zinfandel which was reasonably priced for the quality. My wife loved her Greens Salad my Caesar's Salad, even with The Works, was good but not great. You always feel welcome here and the service is attentive but not intrusive. Sevy's decor is like a modern Ski Chalet with a large fireplace, wooden floor, large open dining area, and lots of wooden millwork and lights. We' been going here for years but hadn't been back in a while...next time we come we're bringing friends.

Wonderful Dinner

By LuvFoodFunTravel |

Sevy's was a delight! The atmosphere is very nice yet still welcoming and comfortable. The service was excellent! The food was outstanding! We really enjoyed our experience and are looking forward to our next dinner at Sevy's.

Great service, great food.

By TahitiPartnersGeoff |

This is a restaurant in the tony area of Preston Hollow. Lots of business folks and I understand the second George Bush has an office around here. Drive up valet and efficient, sitting down immediately with a nice atmosphere. Service was responsible and strong. My guests had salads, which looked great, and I had trout, which was great, with nice veggies and potatoes. The potatoes were a little over-seasoned; but I have come to expect that in Texas. Overall a great experience.

Always Good

By Andrew R |

Broad menu. Food comes out fresh and well prepared. Good specials. Knowledgeable, accommodating staff. Good bar. Always easy to get a table during the week. When we are in Dallas we usually stop in.

You can't beat this restaurant for location and quality of food for the price

By DougGleaner |

Sevy's has an extensive menu with dishes expertly prepared. Service is handled deftly and it is reasonably priced. I will come back to sample more dishes. You can valet or park in the garage beneath the restaurant.

Once again, our neighborhood favorite.

By Papa Bri |

Spur of the moment visit early on a Saturday evening.....Got my usual stellar redfish, but the highlight of the evening, we made friends with the couple next to us, and - surprise - we had mutual friends and many common memories. Then on the way out, we were stopped by other friends. Sevy’s is definitely a neighborhood favorite that locals return to again and again. There’s a reason for that...friendly, courteous staff, consistently great food, and the best Manhattan known to man. If you are a local, you already know. If you are visiting, why would you try something else? Thanks to the Severson’s for providing a home away from home.

Superior experience

By JoMKess |

The first time we went to Sevy's may have been an anomaly. This time, everything was nearly perfect. The daily special, an aukashi steak, was offered as a half portion. Not only a substantial savings, but the right size. It was cooked perfectly, seasoned well, with complimentary sides. As for the pork chop, it would be very hard to find a better one anywhere, and the polenta was quite different, not grainy, a finer grind. Outstanding tiramisu. Service was quite good, not hovering. The owner even visited with us briefly.

A delicious lunch, plus great service

By mshbnyehud |

This is a wonderful place to go for lunch. Had their special corn chowder soup, which comes piping hot and delicious. The presentation is also marvelous. I chose a basic salad with fried thin onion rings on top -- also delicious. Service is speedy, but not overbearing. My dining partner had a barbecue sandwich which looked delicious, and he seemed to thoroughly enjoy it. They have efficient valet car service in front, complimentary with tip. I'd go back to Sevy's again, hopefully soon. Make a reservation. They can get crowded.

Nice stop after work

Incredible Food, Excellent Service, Great Location!

By Seismo_mid |

We love Sevy's! Chef Sevy and Chef Eric have put together an amazing menu and specials are always excellent. We have attended a few of the wine dinners and they have been so GOOD! The service is also always excellent. If you haven't been, it's worth a try!

Fantastic for over 20 years!!

By Steve E |

When Jim Severson ("Sevy") told us that this year was the 20th anniversary we could not believe it. One thing is for certain, this restaurant is still RELEVANT in the Dallas market. Sevy's has the rare combination of being lively, having great food, but not breaking the bank. The service is always impeccable, but the real treat is the great food. If you like good seafood, this is your place and if you want the best short rib in Dallas this is your place! We had a lovely dinner for four, with each of us ordering a different dish. The grouper with white wine sauce, two garlic shrimp and all the appropriate sides was awesome. Of course we had to have the Wagu Beef Short Rib, you don't need a knife to eat this "melt in your mouth" treat. The Redfish and scallop dishes were also prepared perfectly. You can't go wrong with this location off Northwest Hwy and Preston. Lunch or Dinner, both a treat!

Nice place good food reasonable prices

Very nice place - last time at this location it was a Santa Fe style place but that was more than 25 years ago. Very good filet and a very nice wedge salad. The triple citrus pie for dessert was over the top.

Great Food & Service

By Mike H |

Sevy's consistently delivers on great food and service. We've been there a number of times, usually on Saturday at their busiest, and we have never been disappointed. We've sampled a pretty good portion of the menu now, and it's all been good. My daughter is gluten intolerant, and they have accommodated her every time.

Warm and Welcoming...

By Joey P |

A colleague and I enjoyed a delicious and quiet dinner at Sevy's. It was a first time experience and it was delightful. The atmosphere is warm and cozy and each table was graced with a beautiful red rose. What nice ambiance. The service was outstanding and the food tasty and appealing. If we are in the Preston area again, we would not hesitate to dine again at Sevy's. It was a very pleasant evening.

Classic American Fare

By Ted F |

The quality at Sevy's never changes. It has been consistently classic American cuisine served in an upscale setting that is very convenienlty located. And Sevy's is equally good for both lunch and dinner.

Poor!

By Don |

I’ve been going to Sevy’s since they opened. Weddings, parties, happy hour, dinner, etc… Easter Brunch sucked. Should have just gone to Bread Winners. Would have been way better. The food was atrocious. Not sure who is running things, but they lost their edge. Subpar would be kind.

Diverse Menu for a Diverse Family

By Sandy K |

Where should one take one's family with folks varying in age from 15 to 88 for a nice dinner in north Dallas? I did tons of research and settled on Sevy's. It was a great decision. The menu was diverse enough to please all. The dishes weee well conceived by the chef and well executed in the kitchen. The service was professional and friendly. There are plenty of other reasons to dine here, but this was my success story this weekend.

Good food, great atmosphere and service

By SunsetCker |

Comfortable atmosphere, good drinks, delicious food. Filet cooked perfectly, short ribs melt in your mouth. We had appetizer platter for three, at $11 a piece I would expect more than three of each item. Dinner plates were great on potato side, light on vegetable. "Seasonal vegetables" meant one slice of zucchini, pepper and scallion. Service over the top. A little pricy for the portions.

Wonderful dinner

Was in the Park Cities area 2 weeks in a row. Had the redfish both times I went to Sevy's....excellent.

Disappointing Experience

By Deb B |

I had very high hopes as Sevy’s is a favorite of some friends in Dallas. I’ve even given gift certificates to this place. But our experience last Saturday was very disappointing. We had reservations with another couple and were quickly seated at a nice table. The place was extremely busy. Our server was spread very thin, serving larger groups both outside and inside. He was very nice, but service was slow and he was a little clueless (we ordered a bottle of Piattelli Malbec, and when he brought it he said here is the Italian Malbec; it’s from Argentina, but that caused me to take a hard look at the label. This is a high end restaurant and servers should have a working knowledge of the wine list). It took awhile to get the wine, awhile for him to come back to get our order, and forever to get the check. Now to the food. The chopped salad was just terrible; it had a very bitter flavor to it. The NY strip steak and potatoes were good but not amazing as they should have been for the price. Our friends were far happier with their orders of fish so that might have been a better choice. Sadly, I don’t think we will return when back in the Dallas area.

Good business-oriented restaurant !

This restaurant is a great spot to meet with business acquaintances. Food is above average. Service is ok, some of the waiters are not up to pair with the place while some others are great. If you want to have a business lunch, go there !

Solid, reliable spot

We have done a family dinner here once a year for three years now while in town. It is hard to find a place to please 3 generations but Sevy's manages quite well. The food, wine, service and setting are all above average. There are more trendy places nearby, but there is something to be said for consistency.

Very good meal

By Woodstock1968 |

Five colleagues and I had a business dinner here. The place was recommended by locals and we were all pleased. The food was good and had diverse offerings at reasonable prices. Our service was very good. The only downside was the loud party that was seated next to us. A good sign of a great restaurant is large crowd so I'll chalk it up to that. Our total was $327 before tax for six but that included 8 glasses of wine for a total of $70.

Great neighborhood dining

We go quite often to Sevy's when nothing else sounds good. Calamari is exceptional. The specials are usually a good bet for regulars as the menu doesn't change much and that gives you some variety. But even the wedge salad is good when sitting on the patio with a nice glass of wine.

Nice ambience, so, so food.

I chose this restaurant because I liked the American/Mexican fusion choices on the menu when I looked at it online. They offered some menu items that are different, and seemed appetizing, like the duck flautas and the corn chowder. I must say that I was disappointed. The corn chowder was not very tasty, and the flautas were tasteless as well. I went on a Wednesday night, and the restaurant was full. I guess it is a very popular place in Dallas, but did not meet my standards in terms of food quality and taste.

Early Dinner -- what a pleasant meal

By minimyzr |

in many ways. The wait staff was exceptional..attentive but never over bearing...and personable. The meal, I ordered red fish, was a work of palatable art. Just fabulous. Nice job, Sevy's!

Excellent location for business lunches

By Dallastraveler49 |

Sevy's is a great option for a business lunch, but also is excellent for dinner out with a special guest. The interiors are designed to be very pleasant and comfortable. The services is always prompt and helpful. The chef is excellent and the food is well prepared and very flavorful with a very diversified menu. The bar is always active with regulars. There is a private room for small to medium sized parties. Complimentary valet parking is provided..

Great food

Business meeting with a pre-selected set of menu choices. Expensive but fully expected. Service was very attentive and the food quality was great. Some reasonable wine selections too.
