Incredible place, service wanting to kick you out

By Ines R |

The place is incredible, the music excellent. Truly a quality staging. The only negative point is that they rush you to leave the Table. Everything is “in a rush”, as if it were a fast food restaurant. No I would return

DONT GO!!!!!!!!!!! I know everyone is talking about it but service is horrible and food is worse

By Paul F |

This is the second time I went to the restaurant. I thought I had bad luck the first time but it turns out two members of our party had really bad luck they are the black cod and were violently ill. I contacted the manager and he completely disregarded everything. Extremely frustrating because the restaurant is beautiful but food is dangerous and service is horrible

excellent restaurant experience. Great server

By paddy s |

I celebrated my wife’s birthday with her. Our server, Nick, was a gentleman all evening and helped me out with a special dessert and candle at the last minute. Thanks so much. Superb from beginning to end. Great cocktail selection, Good DJ at the right volume and a varied menu.

Good food and entertainment

By Lady D T |

Was there to celebrate my daughter’s 21st. Lovely staff, good entertainment. Overall ambience was great! Will definitely return and recommend.

Terrible place in Brickell

By DecoWorldTraveler |

Should named “Cheesy Fish”. Everything about this place is the opposite of classy. From the moment we came in we didn’t feel at a cool lounge in Miami. We felt at seaworld in Orlando (but in a good way). The decorations are so cheap and drinks are expensive and awful. I asked the bartender why the drink didn’t look pink like on the menu picture and he said is right is right it will be pink in 20 minutes haha. The American bartenders are actually super nice but they the two latinos (and Im latino) bartenders were so rude, like really really rude. They thought they owned the place. The food is average to mediocre and it gave us both diarrhea :( sad, funny but truth. I will never ever would recommend cheesy fish to my friends or anyone else. Terrible place!

Stunning Decorations

By Zashenca |

Food is spicy but really good, nothing extraordinary but the service it is, Kara, Dahiana and all the staff is very professional and friendly, I have to say that the restaurant is stunning, the decorations will leave you Breathless, and go to the bathroom of course.

Sexy Fish

By Jef Fincher |

The staff was attentive and professional. The food was wonderful and well prepared. Incredible tempura batter and sauces. We enjoyed the Miami Spice menu which was 3 courses for $30 for lunch hours. Highly recommend.

A glamorous experience

By viennafilm |

A show - incredible decor, great atmosphere. Only had drinks - they were good. Nice service. The toilets are a sensation - a real experience!

Excellent Service!!

By Diego O |

DJ gave my group excellent service and was very thorough at the time of explaining things and giving recommendations. 10/10, I strongly recommend this place.

Best food ever

By the sweet snail |

Best food I’ve had in my entire life and I’ve tried hundreds of restaurants in my lifetime. Every single bi.te was simply flabbergasting.

Fantastic!

By EdoCortimiglia |

Fabulous place, fantastic atmosphere and sensational food. We were recommended this place but we didn't think so. My wife and I went during our wedding trip, we got some rolls, tempura, cocktails and dessert. Of note is the beautiful, pleasant and professional behavior of Sebastiano, their waiter. He helped us choose the menu and after he knew we were on our honeymoon he offered us two glasses of champagne. An experience to do in Miami, we will definitely be back!

A great dinner experience, nothing could have been better

By JamesV |

The service the food and the atmosphere route standing. I've never been to a place that a must do was to visit the restrooms. I've never seen some people taking pictures of the restrooms! But the show stopper was the excellent service and incredible food. All four of us have amazing dinners and desserts. There were no disappointments.

Bad no a family place

By maria l |

Bad bad little portion but so very little . We ask for regular water and they charge 50.00 my recommendation go there have only a drink take a picture and go they don’t deserve the big cost for their snack that it’s ridiculous

Good vibe!

By tim van leeuwen |

Amazing place, i would definitely recommend anyone to try this place out! The food was amazing & the place has a lot of nice art with a good vibe! Even te restroom was artistic! Delicious cocktails and great music

Nothing too much

By pcostaef |

Good food, restaurant with exuberant decor and very expensive. Very careful more or less. Experience ok. Won't come back.

Upset Fish

By LoveTravel713696 |

This place is incredibly overpriced and overrated. It feels like a tacky theme park restaurant with exorbitant prices. They expect you to be grateful for being there, but in reality, they are nothing special. The food was a mixed bag. Some dishes were good, but others, like the overcooked fish, were disappointing. The staff was rude, rushed, and pushy. They acted as if we were there for their convenience, not the other way around. The only exception was the lady who serviced the bathroom, who was quite pleasant. To make matters worse, we were seated at our table 20 minutes late and then rushed through our dinner. We were even asked to leave the table 30 minutes earlier than our allotted booking time. When I asked why, I was told that a celebrity was coming. Considering we had already spent over $1000 US dollars, it was unacceptable that we were not given another spot and instead ended up standing at the bar. The staff was careless and kept pushing us around while carrying food and drinks. It was a chaotic and unpleasant experience. The layout of the venue is poorly designed, with little space for servers to maneuver. Most of the staff seemed upset and rushed, and even the mermaids looked sad. There was even a fight between a bartender and a drunk patron, which had to be broken up by security. Overall, I would not recommend this place. It should be called Upset Fish instead of Sexy Fish. If you decide to go, be prepared for high prices and poor service. On a positive note, the venue itself is large and has an interesting under the sea theme. The attention to detail in the handles, sinks, and other elements is commendable, so kudos to the designers and investors.

Another world. Experiential dining at its finest!

By Kiersten J |

Wow. What Is not to like. Just wow. You have to experience it to believe it. From the food to the staff to the toilets...yes that's right the restrooms are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. Just wow. Photo ops everywhere. Just wow

Worth a visit for the GRAM but the food is only so so...

By Ivory R |

If you're in the mood for a dining experience that's more about ambiance than exceptional cuisine, Sexy Fish Restaurant in Miami might just be your quirky ticket. Picture this: the food isn't exactly the star of the show, but hey, the environment is worth the price of admission – or at least the cost of a cocktail and a fun photo session. It's like the Disney World of dining – lots of cool things to look at, but beware, you might encounter a wait that rivals the line for Space Mountain, and the service might feel like a ride on the teacups – a bit dizzying. So, if you're up for a look-see, an Insta-worthy atmosphere, and a few laughs along the way, Sexy Fish is your spot. Just don't expect a culinary masterpiece; after all, it's more about the adventure than the destination. Cheers to cocktails, quirky vibes, and the kind of dining experience that's unforgettable for all the amusing reasons.

Do not waist your time and money .

By PaulaCGuima |

Lots of theatre, bad taste, weird people and rude front desk . I made a reservation for a celebration at 6:00 I they didn’t aloud me to get in because I wasn't wearing high heels and dressing like a normal person !!!! . When I saw their kind of dress code getting into the place I understood and thankGod I hadn't entered. Weird party with weird people and very very overpriced .

Awesome place!!!

By Lapo T |

What to say. A truly wonderful place, beautiful design and colors that make the atmosphere unique. Delicious food and high level service. All this comes at a cost but it's worth it

Food was excellent and service was absolutely superb

By muhammadalnakeeb |

Very beautiful atmosphere with very beautiful and helpful staff from outside Bouncers to inside , Reception, Bar & Restaurant . The only disappointments were with the dress code. I usually go to the one in London where everyone is properly and glamorously dressed . In Miami , I saw many with jeans and Tshirts , hoodies .

Very nice aquatic themed and good food

By plonky74 |

Good service. Great ambience. Good food but overpriced. Good music and nice show. Really enjoyed our time. The only regret was that they ask for our table after two hours. Not letting enjoy de night show. This was after 11pm. So I would recommend making the reservation late.

Charged 80$ for nothing!

By martinhobler |

I was charged 80$ for nothing! I made a reservation for birthday of my wife for 2 persons. That day we were in the everglades and it got late - so I tried to cancel the reservation but I had no internet connection. So I tried to call the restaurant and let them know. I was told I still need to cancel online but I explained them that this is not possible because of the missing internet connection. At the end I could not believe when I saw that my credit card was charged 80$ for not having cancelled. Very bad customer experience and total rip off!

Best service and menu for vacation fun

By Helen |

So, I’ve been disappointed with food and service this whole trip. We saw pics of the place and assumed it would be a glorified rainforest cafe—- it was not. I was pleasantly surprised. Decor is over the top but so was their food abs service. Nathan and Monica, and bar manager Kendall——At the bar were incredible. There was actual service here. the food was delicious the Kim Chi fried rice abs edamame was delicious. The food in Miami was overall sub par but not here. We are at the bar the whole night and we’re so impressed with the attentiveness of the staff and the impressive cocktail menu. I had five cocktails and each one was better than the last. Each one is crafted with ingredients that balance the sweet sour and savory. So far best place in Miami—- don’t be fooled by the over the top decor. The service and menus match. An equal value to the price well worth it !

Poor beautiful place

By Luciana J |

The place is beautiful, but not worth the service. When we go to a place like this the intention is to have fun. But the staff was rude, rushed, and pushy. They acted as if we were there for their convenience, not the other way around. The only exception was the lady who serviced the bathroom, who was quite pleasant.

****Stay AWAY!!!!**** Don’t go here

By Foodstuff762 |

Disgusting overpriced fishy food, tacky decor, and the service is horrible!! If it’s one thing I had is bad food and bad service combined. Why would you be in business if you’re going to treat your customers like garbage, then you feed them that same garbage. I am appalled by the lack of respect your staff has towards your guests. I won’t be back and I’ll make sure I tell my business partners never to book a reservation here again!

Beautiful and good

By Kenza_s_ |

Very very nice decoration, the dishes were good, I recommend the beef tenderloin it is divinely good, the waitresses were friendly unlike the lady at the reception

Fantastic Experience, a must go to

By Moe G |

This is a unique restaurant with out of the world experience of the ambiance and sushi preparations. Our server Myles was fantastic in recommending great dishes. After 9:00 the scene gets more lively with music and dancers performing. A must see experience in Miami. Guys, don’t forget to go to the bathroom upstairs, unbelievable experience.

Worse experience ever

By fran0627 |

Worse experience in a restaurant ever. We had reservations for 10:15pm and after waiting at the bar for 1 hr and spending over $100 in drinks management still had no idea when we would be able to be sited. They were rude and didn’t care at all. I was also not impressed with the cheaply done fish decor, there are some fish light fixtures in ceiling made of plastic , bar counter had cracks and the sculpture of swordfish that comes out of wall looks like it’s made of polystyrene painted and with glitter on top. I would never comeback!

Another restaurant to be forgotten soon in Miami

By Hotel Advisor |

On a reservation to celebrate my dearest mother’s birthday, they blocked our entrance due to the fact, my brother was with shorts. It was social short, but it was the rule of the restaurant. Oddly, I saw three young ladies with a dress that I could see underwear and others without underwear. Unhappily it seems that it will be another big restaurant to begin big and in a short time to be forgotten. I’m sorry for Mr. Miljkovic and the not-so-nice policy of Mrs. Dolz.

Poor service, Mediocre food

By Farooq Shahzad |

Waited 50 minutes for a table after our reservation time. After that wait, they seated us in one corner of the restaurant from where we couldn’t see anything. The whole attraction of this place is the ambience and visuals, which we could not see. The food is mediocre.

If it's what you want, then it's fantastic.

By Lindsay J |

The reviews on this page really make me laugh. Look, is it overpriced? Sure. Is it loud? Definitely. It's completely over the top in every way. If these things don't sound attractive to you, then please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. On the other hand, my family and I had a fantastic time. The service was excellent and the food was incredible. It's definitely worth it if you're willing to splurge and give in to the fun of the place.

WORST DINING EXPERIENCE EVER

By Eric A |

went there for my wifes birthday thru the whoe experience they rush you to get you out in two hours but then they convinced us to buy 80 dollar birthday cake plus aniother bottle of champagne and then they tried to rush us and move us to the bar which i did not allow , manager laurie and as nother guy hindu where very rude and got confrontaitanol almostgot violent on our face and then we went to the bar to finish champagne and they had security following us really bad then they said this is how it is in miami which is a lie , go to barton g s thats better and they dont rush you out

A memorable evening: not to be missed!

By vinnyvinci |

Had dinner there for the second time in two years whilst visiting Miami. We chose the Sekushi menu for two: extravagant pairings, delicious taste bud sensations and surprisingly copious quantities of each of the ten dishes! The decor is famously grand, charmingly kitsch and quite unique. Service is very efficient and the hostess welcome friendly. Only (mild) criticism: the disco-beat background music may be a tad too loud for comfortable conversation. Price is not a bargain, but what you would expect for the culinary and sensorial experience. All in all, a memorable evening and not to be missed!

Worst experience in Miami

By E.D |

Don’t look to the dress code, they are accepting people with sport trousers and you can see people directly came from gym. The man at the entrance knows nothing to choose the people. Gipsy kind of people are inside the place. After entering to the restaurant we’ve waited 30+ minutes at the bar for our reserved table to be ready which we reserved a month ago. When we were waiting we ordered cocktail and had the worst cocktail ever! Decoration is nice (only good thing of the restaurant) but the sound system is horrible as you only hear sub frequencies and cannot understand the music + noise of the people inside make it a jungle. Food is worse than average. You can have better chinese and japanese food even on the street. We ordered a bottle of wine and had just 3 quarter glasses from it and the waiter asked for more wine as he lost the bottle. Then we asked him to find and he found it after we pushed him to! We had worst experience in Miami!!

xenophobic

By Isabelle G |

We were well dressed with summer clothes because of the heat but still respectful clothes. She told us that it was forbidden to enter people with short. I think she had this reaction when she saw that my family spoke Portuguese, looked super debochada and asked if we wanted a photo there from the inside to see how it is. and I looked inside saw several people of short, i.e., total unnecessary restriction. disappointing, if you do not want to feel humiliated do not attend this restaurant.

Great experience

By Chiara Maria N |

We dined at sexy fish on June 9th and we had a great experience. The wine was great and food was delicious and beautifully presented. My husband and I had a great time and the staff took care of us, especially Salvador, the manager. He was fantastic! His knowledge of the food and drinks made it really easy for us. My favorite part has been the dessert. Delicious and beautiful I recommend to have the key lime pie if you get a chance as it has been my favorite part of the meal.

Very original environment

By Carmen D |

A restaurant with a spectacular atmosphere and decoration!! The food was limited but it was very good! The staff is very correct and with original uniforms.

Delicious

By Drika Scherrer Chamilete |

Very beautiful and sophisticated, asks for a better and more appropriate clothes. We ordered one of the tasting menus and found everything good, excellent quality

a place where you spend a lot of money and you wonder why

By Cristina I |

The restaurant is beautiful, but the portions are miniatures of food and the the drinks are even more ridiculous small, Martini served in a small glass of sherry. Overpriced and the quality of the food not worth it.

Beautiful restaurant and delicious food!!

By Marisa E |

It was my first time in Miami and visiting this amazing restaurant’ Beautiful place and decor is amazing! Food was delicious! We had a blast!! Would definitely visit again! Thank you all!

Instagram Generation Restaurant

By Neil |

Nothing bad. Nothing special. Certainty a place to be seen. Full of Instagram wannabes. Service was ok. Food was ok. Other than the very expensive decor, nothing to warrant the extortionate prices.

Worth it for the show!

By AdeleRose12 |

Food is so so but the drama makes it worth it for a one time deal. Lots of dry ice and blue ice cream on the dessert plate. We did the luxe tasting menu but I think I would recommend the normal tasting menu. Bathrooms are amazing!

Very pleasant atmosphere, wonderful food. Fair price for what they deliver. We were served by a Brazilian called Hyan, who was very friendly to us and helped us with our choices. Anyway, I highly recommend it.

Kevin! Nathan! William! And James Bond’s with his second stage in his hands… priceless

By Apple |

Kevin your ability to read a group and treat them with professionalism and also the right amount of engagement of topical communication, spot on man, also your team that I believe you have chosen, specifically. Nathan was incredibly not only as a bar tender but very knowledgeable to fish and the food menu and anybody could possibly overlook this but not here he was stellar, and Last but certainly not least William! My guy, was always ready for any request and definitely ready to jump at any opportunity to make my teams experience the best. Thank all three of you for a fantastic night. I would 100% recommend this very fine and very beautifully decorated establishment to anyone, just wow! You’ve really made a great impression and I’m excited to come back!!! Two thumbs way up guys you’re doing everything beautifully.

Beware!

By Victoria M |

Ate here this past Saturday with a group of 13 girls. We paid about $500 each for dinner (pre fixe menu). 6 of the 13 girls became violently ill with horrific food poisoning early the next morning, which was especially horrific because we had to get on a plane to fly home that day, just a few hours later. I'll spare you the details. We contacted the restaurant immediately so they could do an investigation and remedy the situation. We were understandably very upset we spent close to $7,000 just to get horribly sick. The manager took three days to even respond to me and he finally did so only after threat of challenging the charge on my credit card. He refused to do anything, did not say any investigation into the kitchen was done, and said that since "no one else complained of food poisoning from Saturday" there was nothing they could do. He also insinuated that it was probably because we drank too much. Meanwhile, the girls who drank the least (I'm talking 1 or 2 drinks each) were the ones who got the most sick. Nice to know the 6 of us getting violently ill wasn't enough for him to feel like he should take action. Horrible, go spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

Amazing place !!

By Daria P |

I seriously do NOT understand why this place has been given such poor reviews. I was there last night for dinner with my friend and the sushi ( particularly varieties of tuna) was the most delicious and freshest sushi we have ever had. And not to brag but we like high end dining . Besides the outstanding culinary experience this place is just a must to be seen from the decor perspective . The beautifully detailed mosaic bathrooms are breath taking. The high end art is out of this world. Staff was wonderful too. Highly recommended. Million stars ! Just wow!

Too expensive. Too expensive. Vapes allowed and you is obligated to eat with such bed smell. Wine too expensive prices.

By Iomar Oliveira |

The waiters are perfect. The food is acceptable. The prices are much much more expensive than what they really deliver. The wines are so expensive that became unafordable. And the worse part is that I paid a $500 dollar dinner and i was obligated to smell vapes (they allow it there!). I will never come back. And I would never suggest a friend to go there. Does not worth. And the vapes made me loose the possible pleasure i could have. Bad experience!

Fantastic experience all round

By Michele G |

It gets better every time. I love their special lunch menu. Many choices. Great flavors. AMAZING decor and details down to the waitstaff uniforms Creative cocktails. Must see bathrooms!

Amazing experience

By trabuck |

The place itself is amazing, you should go there just for the experience. But the food is super good compared to other similar restaurants in Miami, and even if expensive for sure, it is not crazy as I found in other situations. A lot of fun, go there, but book in advance!

Fun, fashionable, great salads

By Shalesh K |

Tofu & Avocado and Kelp and Raw Vegetable salads were delicious. Broccoli and quinoa salad delicious as well, but portion was small. Mushroom Tempura at $29 is way overpriced because the truffle is gratuitous. Decor is fun & over-the-top (check out the huge aquarium in the back), dancified versions of 80s hits from Hall&Oates flow from the speakers, and the crowd is good-looking and fashionable even at lunch. Bartenders are friendly and all the staff is dressed in vibrant vests and sort coats.

Spectacular place!

By HoneyHanne |

I went to Sexy Fish for Happy Hour and just loved the design and the vibe of the place. The fabulous art, the legendary bathrooms and the good service make this place worth visiting. Yes, it’s expensive. And the happy hour bites were not really worth the money. But for a drink it’s a great place!

Fresh & beautiful dishes in the coolest space!

By Travellover |

Lunch at Sexy Fish was a fantastic experience! The food was fresh, beautifully plated and delicious! From start to finish our experience was top notch. The interior design is over the top gorgeous! Mosaics were stunningly beautiful. I’ve never seen such intricately detailed work in a restaurant. The sculptures, water feature behind the bar, and use of natural stone were lovely. I had the cauliflower dish with sesame and peanut sauce which was so uniquely flavored and delicious. I also had the green salad with avocados and watercress. My husband had the seafood platter. Each piece of his fish were delicately flavored. He enjoyed each one! For dessert we had the fresh donuts and chocolate molten cake. Both desserts were perfectly balanced! Highly recommend Sexy Fish for a special occasion lunch or dinner. The wait staff were very friendly and helpful.

Celebrated my 51st birthday here with style 11-16-24. Felt very welcomed in this restaurant. From the greet to the goodbye.

Just Give Me Normal

By LoafJugThouTree |

I filed to read the TA reviews for this resto. I feel bad about bot doing so, because -- had I -- I would never have gone there with my wife. An what a bad mistake that would have been! OK: Start with the prices, which seem to be high, although $32 for an amazing -- AMAZING! -- four-course, prix fixe lunch. Staff was dressed and coifed in various ways, but all were friendly, polite, and professional. Each course we had was superb, presented beautifully. The wine list is robust and well-suited for the very-well suited. However, a few of the sub $1000 (truly) bottles, with just double digits, were excellent choices. And what about the venue? OMG! Utterly astounding outrageousness that made me laugh, gasp in appreciation, and experience other forms of WTF admiration. In fact, given the venue and the service, I could have sat there without food and still paid the bill. It's an experience illustrated by great food. You want normal? Why? It's always boring with so-so food. Viva Sexy Fish. You've caught us.

Do not eat here. Terrible. Rude. Bad food.

By Nick M |

Sexy Fish in London is a good restaurant. Sexy Fish in Miami is total crap. I was very disappointed with my experience. The greeters were rude and dismissive. We had a reservation, but we were still made to wait 20 minutes by the door for our table, even though we arrived precisely on time. The restaurant was busy, but it was full of the Instagram crowd snapping pics of themselves with cocktails that would make Del Boy proud. The food was a major disappointment. The dishes were small and overpriced, and the flavors were bland. You can get far better sushi for a quarter of the price and not have such rude service. This place exists purely for the silly fashion kids who want to be seen to have been. It’s rather a noisy museum to bad food and bling with tables so close together that it was awkward to get in and out and conversation was impractical. Don’t eat at Sexy Fish in Miami. Go to the London one, it’s a thousand times better.

Visually stunning venue with dishes that ranged from bad to very good.

By gourmandmobile |

Visually stunning restaurant - worth the price of a meal just to see it. Here for lunch and had the prix fixe menu. Good value in that it was plenty of food for the price. Extensive wine list with prices as you would expect in downtown Miami. Lunch started with miso soup and pickles vegetables and both were good. My colleague and I shared 4 appetizers: prawn gyoza - tasteless but the dipping sauce was good. Zucchini flower - breading much sot thick we could not taste the zucchini flower. Salmon tartare - good if somewhat under seasoned. Seabags crude - bad, the sauce completely overpowered the fish. For mains we had the picanha steak and the chirasi don - both were good. Caramel chocolate bar for dessert was very good. Lunch with a carafe of wine, tax and tip was $200.00. Service from the hostess and our waiter Sebastian was excellent. Overall a great lunch. I would definitely return for lunch but but not sure I would for dinner. The dishes ranged from bad to very good but at these prices they should all be very good.

Best fish in Miami

By Amy P |

Strict dress code, no shorts, had to go back 2nd day dressed up but it was so worth it!! The staff, food and ambiance was amazing!

No interest in serving customers

By HBerke |

This is an Instagram spot, not a hospitality establishment. They have stanchions in front of the stairs that lead to the restaurant. You can’t even enter without going through what I can only call pseudo guards. Rude gatekeepers who check you in and assess your attire before being let in the ropes. No sandals or shorts for men. That should be noted in the reminder texts , i understand it’s on their website but I don’t read the fine print when making a dinner reservation. Then the threat of paying $40 pp for cancelling after their window! Luckily that was not the case. And no, we were not allowed in because my son was wearing shorts, in Florida!!!! Multiple people were turned away, with reservations, in the short while we stood out front. $36 for valet parking

The dishes are not so good.

By Paula F |

I went yesterday at lunch, The place is spetacular and impressive. But the food dishes were nothing special, very expensive for what they offer. I won't be back.

Cool for photos. Bad service and ok food.

By mrdavidlrosen |

Like Disney world. Cool things to look at but a long wait and bad service. I went for lunch and definitely will not return.

Deception

By Amanda A |

The restaurant is truly beautiful! Aside from Josh, who is an exceptional server, the rest of the staff seemed to make fun of us. We ordered a dish during happy hour with two different waiters, and they ignored us and treated us with great indifference. We won’t be coming back.

Ambiance: underwhelming food n service

By Innovation007 |

My birthday lunch: the good, the bad and the ugly. Food was better than expected given that the overall score when i went was lower than restaurants I normally patronize. Bad and ugly: tuning the piano while we were there ànd not even a candle for me blow out -- most all other restaurants i have been to do something to mark the special occasion. The gratuity is automatically added at 20 percent which we were then told was for the house and we could add something for the server --this sounds sussy (suspect - simple math excercise if your bill is $100 and $20 is added as tip for the house and then your server suggests you tip her extra then this is above what has been my experience as normal)-- never encountered this in Miami nor any other city. Next year, will celebrate at another place. The elevator runs extra slowly. There's also an aquarium that i almost missed which is cute. Will not return after talking to other people who also had a less than 5 star experience. Bonus: Being in the Financial District means there are MANY other Quality, HIGH-END options nearby to patronize

Best restorant in Miami

By Bastic S |

I have to write another review for Sexy fish. The only restaurant in Miami that has a smoking section with gold ashtrays. Rating 100/10. The dessert was perfect

SAVE IT

By Anita R |

This is the biggest exploitation of the Rich. The sad part is they know it and some of their rich patrons know it and want to be in the "Club." It's nothing more than a beautiful smoke show and don't bother coming unless you are coming to throw down stupid money for theater! 90 bucks for two bad drinks. 👎

Lovely dining experience

By denitrip |

Thanks to TA reviews I planned our evening for dining at the restaurant and we had a lovely time. First, arrive about a half-hour early and sit at the bar. Familiarize yourself with the drink and food menu. Take pictures of this lovely place and don’t forget the elevator and bathrooms. The staff is dressed in elegant beautiful sea embroidered uniforms and were very friendly and provided excellent service We were a group of ten and we were seated promptly at the time of our reservation. You will have two hours to enjoy your dinner and if you plan it well, you can have a great experience. The food was delicious from appetizers to desserts. Plan on spending $175-200 per person for dining here and you will not be surprised

Ultra Miami Visit

By Michael W. |

If you an experience to remember then this the place. Very beautiful women hang out here and the food was outstanding. Definitely worth the visit.

Sensory Overload

By Pomerol17 |

Out of this world, over the top design - clearly cost an absolute fortune to design and build. Music, especially the bass makes conversation nearly impossible, however, most of the folks who went clearly had not much interest in conversation - they were taking photos, texting or otherwise engaged on their phones. Food was a mixed bag from exceptional to outright mediocre - we there on a table for 4 and ordered a number of dishes. The salmon tartare was heavenly, the salt and pepper squid barely ordinary, the dim sum with the foi gras was devine and the black cod mushy, so were the shrimp on the skewer. Wine list extensive and priced above pain level - most restaurants are satisfied with 3/4 x cost not here at least 5/6 times. We enjoyed it but will not go back because we enjoy great food and the ability to converse. Valet operation functioned superbly.

This place is fantastic and completely over the top! We had so much fun…. The ambiance is incredible- just like you are at a party under water on a coral Reef. The food was extraordinary. My black cod was like butter. It was amazing. Our waitress could not have been better- she was so knowledgeable and able to help me navigate my food sensitivity. 5 diamond service. It is loud and fun… great vibe and incredible people watching. And don’t miss the bathrooms. I will defiantly be back! One for the memories! Thank you!

Sexy Fish is one of those bucket list life experiences everyone should check off

By Jerome P |

I'm not really sure it's worth reviewing this place because no one would believe it's a real review. Experience, staff, decor, food - it's what we call in French a "sans faute" - meaning totally fault-less on every detailed aspect. I didn't think places like this existed anymore. So here's the deal: I got up to get some food from the Sushi station. Came back having forgotten soy sauce. Within seconds, our server comes to the table with soy sauce saying "Sir, I noticed you forgot to grab some and thought you'd like to have some with your Sushi" - Home run. This is first-class service at its best. The Sushi anecdote is just one of dozens of attention to small details these folks are trained to bring on. Probably one of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had (even Michelin I can't think of the last one we went to that came close - in both service and food quality) - I've been around the block and I didn't know you could even cook fish like they do (in the US anyway). Class, distinction, care, detail - an absolutely mind-boggling experience. And I'm the hardest to please biggest pain in the a$$ customer any restauranteur can never wish for! Back in 2 months for another round (or two!).

Please beware!!!!

By Bianca C |

Wow! Where should I begin! I usually post another platform, however, since this restaurant has been flagged for what appears to be racism, I was unable to leave a review.. To begin, it was my friend’s 40th Birthday, she made reservations weeks in advance.. our reservation was set for 10:30, we arrived at 10… (we were a party of 10). We were seated at 11:40. There is absolutely “0” customer service. If you are black you will be treated very badly. For instance, there were two chairs near the elevator, we sat there as we waited for our table to be ready. As you can imagine standing in heels for an hour and a half can be quite uncomfortable.. we were approached by a white security who very rudely said I need those chairs you need to get up.. when he was unsuccessful he assigned the black security to get us off the chair… the other security than stated, “ I work for a white man, I need to do as I am told, then carried on to say, get the F—k out of here with that black man sh*t. Now to be clear this restaurant is higher-end, there are many athletes, actors and other celebrities that come here… Finally seated, the waiter said, please get over this, whatever happened, happened…….. LOL! I cannot believe the employees, the staff and shame on the director for trying to “save” the night by sending free plates of food…. That is a big insult.. my friends and I are all professionals and do not go out with anticipation of getting “ free appetizers or desserts”. We are more than capable of affording a high end lifestyle, and therefore, this establishment will not receive ANY of my money.. Needless to say their “free appetizers”, remained in the table… I want absolutely nothing to do with this restaurant.. Since I’m here, let me comment on the decor. Yes inside is extremely elaborate with many details added to the walls and sculptures. All the staff are wearing the same uniform.. it really reminds me of the major theme park restaurants. I rate this restaurant a “0”…

Don't go before 20:00

By Cid |

If you do, you will not see the animation so broadcast on the social networks of the restaurant and you will find the empty place. I'm posting a photo taken at 7:00. Now, if your goal is to go to a different restaurant (I don’t know if this is the best adjective), go anytime. With the real down there, the dollar bill is salty. Very tasty meals, very kind waiters, although one of them put a wrong dessert and then came to take away running. Not recommended if you can't book for 20h in advance.

Delicious and beautiful

It is a very nice place for us who come from Europe has been a wonderful experience.Dishes in small portions but with very good taste. Not a place to fill but to taste good flavors. We loved it.Attention from the 1st time excellent. It is a place for special occasions

Just one tiny little thing and boom… it’s ruined…😂

By tw148 |

Super cool atmosphere, fabulous service. Gorgeous food and beautiful people. What more could you ask for.? We’ve visited Sexy Fish in London many times and never disappointed; however, our trip to Miami was very much blighted at the end of the night as they refused to order a taxi for us, saying that the phone only accepts incoming calls.!!😂.. Come on Sexy Fish Miami… get your act together. You don’t send 3 girls from England out of your restaurant in an unknown area after midnight.. particularly after spending hundreds of $$$$ each. You should’ve ordered us a taxi.. then that would’ve been the end to a perfect night.x

Sexy Dining

By Layla B |

This spot is a lot of fun! Food is pretty good but it’s really about the ambience. Service was impeccable though. Great for a ladies night!

Good

By ayapor |

Good for having dinner with friends , very difficult to reserve . Service is excellent great atmosphere

For the right kind of people, its a great place

By Anna M |

It's a great place but I would only recommned it if you know why you're coming here. Sexy Fish is not a cheap place, and you do go there mainly for ambiance, for the place itself, to dress up and mingle with other people who like that kind of place. Sexy fish is not a place to get a good deal or even the best possible food. It's a place you to for an experience.

Terrible.

By Jenni B |

Made birthday/ valentine reservation 3 weeks prior and hours of reservation driving from hour away they notify that the main room is closed for event. They shoved us in a table in a back room with no part of main dining room. Careful planning special event there as they can change on you last minute. Happened to a friend of ours as well.

Go elsewhere.

By Excursion313100 |

There are many good places to experience in Miami. This is not one of them. Bad and overpriced food. Diluted drinks. Poor service. Oh, but the decor is nice! Just go elsewhere.

INCREDIBLE

By Manu Calddevilla |

Wonderful place, excellent food, exceptional service! The decor is fantastic, all like at the bottom of the sea! The bathroom is then the most beautiful part of the place...

Food is bad. Noise is deafening. Service is sketchy....

By alloverNewYork |

My husband and I got poisoned by the food we had: I had black cod, and he had chicken. Other people at the table ordered seafood: the portions were minuscule. The size of the space reminds you of a plane hangar. The wine list is absolutely absurd with bottles of rather regular wines priced at several thousand dollars; you have to be very careful not to make a several thousand dollars mistake. The service is somewhat unprofessional: once they make a mistake - they are extremely slow at correcting it. The noise is deafening.

Never again

By Ruby G |

Horrible horrible experience will never come again and I do not recommend anyone coming, they over charged for everything most definitely a tourist trap

Sexy Fish review- “I am sorry you feel that way”

By Travinum |

We were welcomed into Sexy Fish Miami with a warm “ we will need your table at 8:30” (so eat up and get out). Although the restaurant has the now overly popular tapas format of serving you lots of things all at once, they do have large plates, which we ordered. 2 starters, 2 large plates. All delivered in less than 10 minutes- before we could even order a bottle of wine. We declined the large plates and asked to please bring them after we finished our small plates and ordered wine. Boy- we really pushed the “bad customer” button with that. Our punishment was that our plates would now take another half an hour because they had to make them to order. Apparently made to order means 10 minutes the first time but 30 minutes the second time. So we expressed our dissatisfaction to our server who couldn’t believe her bad luck in getting these philistines in her station. “I am sorry you feel that way…” She fetched the manager who said “I am sorry you feel that way…”. They all must be trained in couples therapy and know that we could never actually have a bad experience at this paragon of popularity— just a bad perspective. Anyway we survived and the food was quite good. They presented the check without the normally in included service charge. Fair enough but when we got back to our hotel I looked at the bill— they doubled our large plate quantities and charged us each for 2 large plates, though we only had one each. So let’s steal from money the bad customers so they won’t come back ever again. We made it out at 8:30 on the dot- i wonder what would have happened if we had lingered…

Sexi fish with the wow effect

By Elwinelover |

In an environment full of magic, the service team full of colors and very attentive, an experience is developed that begins in the afternoon with a DJ in a very top atmosphere and is magically transformed into shows and wow effects... The ultra-top cocktails and the best wines in the world like Romane Conti in the wine cellar. The Sommelier very friendly!!! I will return to continue enjoying!!!

Not good

By Michael D |

Food was terrible. Half of it was not hot enough. Service is snobby and un accommodating. Did not recognize birthday request didn’t even put candle in the desert that we had. Manager contacted me after my review. Did no action to fix or repair after an expensive and bad experience. Don’t waste your money. People go here because the bathroom and the restaurant is nice for photos. That’s it. Bad

Memorable

By Marcos B |

The food was nothing short of exquisite. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared and bursting with flavor, showcasing the skill and creativity of the kitchen team. From the appetizers to the desserts, every bite was a delight.

Worth a stop

I went here for Miami Spice Week - what a fun vibe. The bar area was nice so not awkward eating by yourself. Food was great - get the salmon tartare and grilled seabass. Fun vibe - great food. Highly recommend

Save your money.

By PickyTraveller002 |

Visited this place for a Sunday brunch. Unusual, but gaudy, tacky decor. Although sushi bar was nice and fresh, majority of food served at the table was very salty, had no flavor, a lot of it is breaded and deep fried, loaded with stale oil. Inedible. Crispy duck appetizer was served cold. Prices are ridiculous for the garbage they serve, with mandatory 20% surcharge and then another line on the bill requesting an additional tip. 55. for a tiny glass of champagne when it costs 80. for a whole bottle at the store. Overall, one of the worst restaurant experiences I ever had. Still recovering from an upset stomach a day later. Save your money.

Experience

By Carla |

A restaurant with a stunning decor. Sushi is not fantastic but going to sexy fish is an experience. It is worth the visit to have a drink in the happy hour.

Jack was great!

By Kenneth Pages |

After a bit of a bumpy start to our quick trip down to Miami it was truly rescued by our fabulous time at Sexy Fish. It was the perfect way to end our trip and prepare to be on the short flight home. First of all the place is absolutely gorgeous. It's glitzy in the best use of that word. We opted to sit at he bar as we so often do and the was a winning move. We met one of those super stars of a bartender who knows everything about food and wine and cocktails. For two people who do not usually drink off of the drink menu we tried a number of their signature cocktails and were not disappointed. I also tried some very nice sake and white burgundy. We had the mid-tier omakase and every item was delicious. We supplemented it with some of the best lightly breaded squid ever. We even had the melty chocolate cake at the end.

Bathroom Attendant = My Personal Photographer 👏

By brittany |

We had such a fun and memorable night at Sexy Fish Miami! The decor is absolutely stunning — every corner is photo-worthy and the whole place feels like a mermaids dream. The food was great, the cocktails were delicious, and the service was excellent. One unexpected highlight was the bathroom attendant — she was not only so sweet but also took some of the best photos of me! Truly went above and beyond and made the experience even more special. The vibe is upscale and energetic, perfect for a night out with friends or a celebratory dinner. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Miami — Sexy Fish totally lived up to the hype!

Just go for the pictures…

By Jessica L |

Giving this a 3 because the restaurant is beautiful and the entertainment was great. However, my server was not very good. He wasn’t knowledgeable and didn’t seem interested and selling us on what to order as we were first timers. Cocktails were MID. Lamb chops were good. Pro-tip: skip dinner and order straight up from the bar cocktails to take pictures and head right out.

Sexy fish yes

By Georgie |

I had a great time here from start to finish! The decor and ambiance was fantastic and the service was exceptional. Everyone is so attentive and our waiter, Lenny, was phenomenal!! The food was great too, especially the beef with black pepper and ginger!! Oh, and don't forget to check out the bathrooms on your way out!

not worth wgat they presume and priced for. Not suggested if You come for that.

By EDUARDO Z |

Very Nice place but if You are Taken yo the "other side" of the place that seems like another place, it loose all ehat they presume to be and all the "glamour" the restauran is prized for. That is why we don't even enjoy the meal. With a reservación a Mont prior to the visita and 45 minutes waiting in the bar, they give You a table on an awful place compares to the Main saloon. Bad experience!

Nice, expensive and they kick you out

By DarioDG70 |

Fun place with music, DJs and/or singers Excellent food, very expensive (+100$/head)… but… But there's a two-hour time limit at the table, the waitress who pops up every minute (it's not a figure of speech) to ask if you want anything else, to remove every empty saucer, to rush you (they expect you to place just one order with everything that you want) With 20% of service already included in the final bill, the waiters are not interested in treating you well but only in turning over the tables they are responsible for several times, which is why they are in a hurry to make you order, bring you the dessert in record time (after 50 minutes which we were seated) and then the bill… Worth seeing (even the bathroom is worth a visit), but not worth going back

Wonderful Japanese meal

Exceptional dinner with friends. We have the Hiro (set menu) with a few extra apps, cocktails and sake. The service was very efficient and friendly.

I was very surprised I haven’t expected much because we all know this kind of “fancy “ restaurants but I have to admit I was very impressed. And my husband too ! Great experience definitely coming back !

AMAZING EXPERIENCE!

By Lil |

Amazing culinary journey. Food is high quality and every bite takes you on a journey . Great customer service would recommend to anyone that has amazing taste in fine dinning and is not looking for quantity in one plate but for quality in each bite. The service was amazing and the atmosphere is great. I don’t agree with any of the bad reviews , this restaurant under rated . These amazing chef don’t only cook great food but are top of the line culinary artist. Thank you Sexy Fish for the amazing experience . I had a blast celebrating my “ sexy birthday” trying all different types of amazing fancy culinary art journey . I would recommend this restaurant to everyone that is looking for an experience in every bite 🤩

By Cleomar Alves Jr |

Hostess terrible . I arrived to my reservation Nov 22 at 4pm Saturday and just after my check in she said loud you have to leave your table ate 6 pm . Don’t recommend . Why they don’t tell this at reservation ??? Was my birthday . Never more return . Beautiful place and good food . Tourist restaurant

Memorable New Years Day!

By kristinaklein1 |

My girlfriend and I came here for lunch on New Year's Day. We loved it! Ambience is amazing! So unique! The food was also really enjoyable and we loved that there were plenty of vegetarian options. The service was wonderful and the staff was super attentive. Our favorite part of the experience of the restaurant was the restroom! So thematic! Janet was the sweetest and so kind! She ensured that we got amazing photos and videos and she was the highlight of our experience! We will definitely be back when we are in Miami again! Thanks again!

Flashy, different and great presentation of table and food… BUT do not go there for the food!!

By Maria G |

The place has a very flashy decor and it is impressive when you walk in. Even when the decor it’s not in my taste , it is very unusual and appropriate for picture taking and celebrations The food is average in general. And the sushi was not good or fresh I eat sushi at least 4 times a month so I know what to expect The drinks are very unique. I only tried one and although the taste was nice the quantity was ridiculous for the price I had the Kumkuat and Shiso Velvety

Disappointed

By JUAN Portela |

My wife had gone with her friends and swore by the quality of food and good service. She want for us to go and we did, had lunch to celebrate her birthday. I liked the ambiance the deco, but when it came to the service I did not had to say a thing, she took care of it. It was below standards we had to wait 20 minutes to get out first cocktail, we had to ask for wayer to be served, and it was another 29 minutes for the second round of drinks. The last plate ordered took another 25 minutes, ohh and when placing the order the waiter will always guide to the most expensive selection. It was a 350.00 lunch we expected top service but got Zonked, they wont see us again there. Funny observation their wine selection prices were a murder scene, the most economical bottle was 125.00, wine store cost 18-25… no wonder not one table had a bottle of wine…ohhh one more, could not wait to order the $15,000.00 dollar bottle of Champagne… this is a tourist trap!!.. be aware.

Creepers

By laura g |

We had a table for dinner on Saturday, we arrived and our surprise is that it is for the next day, when I write down all my things in notes. And we had booked a long time ago since we were on vacation. It was that we were interested in giving the table to other people and they left us stranded, the good thing is that I saved dinner since I saw that they had a very expensive and fatak dinner and at least I went in to take photos in the bathroom which was what I wanted and have a cocktail .

Located in Brickell Fantastic furnishings… just think of the mannequin in the dressing table! Super affordable menu for lunch with really reasonable prices for Miami! Excellent food and important wine list! Fun atmosphere In addition to this, the room manager was very kind in resolving a small misunderstanding!! I would say a MUST We will definitely be back Thanks and good job

lovely ambiance but lack of warmth/ welcoming atmosphere.Wait staff mechanical with one thought $

By FLDOC_11 |

Reception could not find our reservation however the woman was kind and helped us get a table - albeit a terrible one right by the waiters station. Service was not good - initially very friendly but then he was pushing 180 per person tasting menu. Drinks did not arrive until after food. we took his advice but should have taken al a carte Food was good with nice presentation. Waiter NEVER CAME BY. to ask if all was ok. But did come to have the nerve to ask for extra tip for himself on top of mandatory 20 % Of the check--- $1400.00 bill for 4 people !! The most overpriced restaurant I have ever been to- including michelin star restaurants all over the world A rip off that will take whatever they can and will close in the near future and run with the money never again

Atmosphere Galore

By Tim F |

Sexy fish is very cool, the food is expensive but you have to charge these prices to have bathrooms with $500K + and the space is designed so brilliantly. The service is amazing, if you are not a fish person, there is very little for you on the menu. If you love fish, you will enjoy this. NOTE to men, there are NO SANDALS at all here. They will send you down the street to purchase close toes shoes PERIOD!

Beautiful

Restaurant and Bar with extraordinary decoration and design. Food based on sushi and fusion, with good quality but little innovation. Friendly service. Long waiting time for a table reserved in advance

Yes...and do it in style. Throw away money on food that is not worth it...take your pics and put them on social media to impress others.

Pity the waitress

By Laura del mar |

Hi! I put everything excellent because the place is amazing. What was not mind-blowing was the attention of the waitress who ignored me since I arrived. I don't go to a place to ask for 8 times exact ice to even look at me (no language problems) I'm not going to a place to be disrespected because I would never do it but if it happens I certainly know because it was a terrible bad manner with all intent I'm a user and you can see my reviews and I'm not bad in any way. Before the incident the Portuguese manager intervened and continued to attend us Harry a genius, Thank you Harry a boy from Puerto Rico. I don't know the waitress's name, but I'm attaching a photo that after the incident she started to play nice to all the tables. Cuisines: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Environment: 5/5

Lack of Service to Porter Customer

By critica1111 |

Very nice place, original decoration and up to what is expected, selection of cocktails and premium brands. Of particular note is the lack of Empathy and Service of the Lord of the Entrance. On arrival he told us that we should pay 5 usd per person, it seemed strange but we paid by card, we did not realize that he had charged us 50 usd per person since he did not give even ticket and in the verifone did not appear the total amount. We also found it strange because two months earlier we had not paid anything to go through, only the consumption inside. Upon arriving at the bar, the super friendly waiter checked our card and informed us that we had 150 usd loaded. We immediately went out to check with the gentleman and he left us for liars, three people had understood twice 5 usd per person, in perfect Spanish because he speaks it very well. While we were there, we saw people enter without paying and without a dress code, segregate at the door depending on the car you arrive with, the money in your wallet, ..., the manager finally dealt with the case. There was no apology, we were not aware of it and we were wrong because what we saw in front of our eyes was not true. Customer Service is missing. I appreciate the manager's management of that night but not the lord of the door or how everything was given. We were disappointed by the problem, we were not refusing to pay but to cheat and we would have spent that amount and more but sincerely from the beginning and with the same rule for everyone, not for a few and when they want.

Best Dinner Ever!

By Kolasa03148 |

What an amazing restaurant...from the moment you walk in until you leave. Outstanding decor, superior wait staff, one taste more enchanting than the next, and our new all time favorite place to dine. 10 course tasting menu was sublime. Couldn't have asked for a better dining experience start to finish. Empty your bank account because Sexy Fish will set your wallet back a pace but....its SO worth it!

improper staff

By Joe H |

we were greeted at the front desk and brought to our table immediately. We were unhappy with the table selection and they were very accommodating to move us to another table. The servers came to the table, were very attentive and knowledgeable. Dinner service was amazing and food quality world class. The restaurant is gorgeous and the bathrooms must be seen. One fault of the restaurant was the “Sommelier”came to our table to assist with Wine selection. I am a level 2 WSET certified Wine expert and I asked the “Sommelier “where he received his training. He told me he was not certified and not formally trained…. He said that he learned the business through being in the restaurant. I think if a restaurant has an expensive wine list, they should have an experienced certified either WSET or court of sommeliers, Som, on staff to discuss wine selections.

Destination spot to see and be seen - amazing decoration

By carlosdieppa |

The decoration in Sexy Fish is amazing, they clearly put a lot of thought into it and both the bar, the main dining room and even bathrooms are super well decorated. Food was good, we did mostly the sashimi like crudos, portions are small. Leave this one for special occasions as prices can really get up there.

Eye candy Restaurant

the atmosphere was eclectic and inviting, few times you feel like a star when you sit in this restaurant you get the full white glove treatment. the food was great but very expensive. this place really stands out then your normal chain restaurants so enjoy your trip here and you will be pleased.

Not a do or die kind-a-place

By marlene ramirez |

Fancy restaurant, nice vibe, beautiful rose quartz and cool bathrooms. Food is good and very pricey. I was so looking forward to taking my daughter & son there today for a special engagement lunch. The food was delicious and drinks are ok but we had a server with attitude, Carlos B. Honestly he was cocky, not kind, rolled his eyes at my husband and did not make us feel welcomed. The music is loud and we could not hear our server that was annoyed with our questions. After a $500k plus bill and a so-so experience next time I will select a different place.

Best place in Miami for atmosphere

Stunning place. Incredible atmosphere. An experience to visit this place. Can’t miss in Miami. And we were seated asap and not attitude. Food was ok but the atmosphere more than makes up for it

Amazing restaurant and fabolous food!

By Berenike1989 |

My husband and I had a great time here! The restaurant is beautiful and the food was amazing. It is a little expensive but it is understandable - the quality is great and the place is worth it. The bathrooms are an experience (so beautiful!) and the team was super professional and kind. Everyone came to our table to say hi because we are from London! I have food allergies (gluten, eggs and dairy) and the team was super prepared and knowledgeble. Thank you all for such a wonderful experience!

Sunday Brunch is a must at least once when in Miami.

By Mohammad Bari |

Went for Sunday Brunch. Brunch includes - Sushi and dessert buffet + 2 appetizers, one entree & side from the menu. Ambiance: very hip and energetic atmosphere with music from live DJ. Decor: it’s a wow factor esp the bathroom -a must visit 😉. Food: not the wow factor (reason for the 4 stars) as the decor and ambiance, however, it is tasty and there are few which we really liked - crispy squid, bun, sea bass. Price: its bit in the higher side, however, it is worth a visit as we found the experience unique.

SMALL PORTIONS & HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

By AKG |

The Good & Bad Nutshell: Food is good but VERY TINY PORTIONS. Restaurant is actually quite small vs the photos. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE!! Our waiter went MIA after taking our orders. Never saw the remainder of the evening. Had to ask for water refills, cutlery, removal of finished appetizer plates, etc. The receipt is attached. Made dinner reservations for 5pm because at 6:45pm, all diners must be 21 and over. One of my kids is 18. There were 4 of us. $400 later, we left hungry. Will never go back.

Besides Fancy the very nice service

By Miguel F |

A very nice place, each bartender is better than the previous one, I went alone and they worry that you also have a good time!!

Misleading and dishonest - served us more than what we ordered and made us pay for it

By Global494295 |

I had a very disappointing experience at your restaurant Sexy Fish. We came for a pre-dinner Birthday celebration and asked for a Sekushi plater and indicated that one person in our party of three did not eat meat, she only ate seafood. Your staff took it upon themselves to serve us three platters and then charged us for all three. It was only when more food than we ordered came to the table, I asked if this was one platter, and then we were told they were serving us three platters and we will be charged for all three. This was not only misleading but also felt like a blatant attempt to inflate our bill. The quality of the food was decent, but dishonest practices overshadowed any positives. Given this experience, I feel that some form of compensation is warranted. I hope the management will address this issue to prevent it from happening to other customers. As it stands, I cannot recommend this restaurant and will not be returning unless this situation is rectified.

The same old miami story - daft door policy policed randomly

By rupert m |

Let's be clear - we had a great experience. Well run, good food, good staff, good live music. However, turning away a 13 year old girl for a pair of designer flip flops.... to then let the scruffiest hoody hoodlums, and kids can watch ipads at the tables etc. Rules are rules, but common sense needed - anyway we scuttled back to the hotel to change. While expensive - the food is good. best dishes the wagyu toast, ribs, mushrooms and ofcourse the fluffiest donuts on earth. Shame we felt like idiots on the pavement re a pair of flip flops - with no discretion or class in the randomly policed door policy

Gorgeous decor and open upto 2 am

By Terry V Lucas |

Sexy Fish, a visually striking restaurant, boasts an exquisite decor that creates an alluring atmosphere. The menu offers a range of delightful appetizers and enticing entrees that cater to diverse tastes. However, the high price of cocktails and slow service may detract from the overall dining experience. One particularly disappointing aspect of my visit was the lack of consideration for other patrons when a large, rambunctious family gathering was taking place. The management and staff seemed indifferent to the disruption this caused for me and my friends. On a more positive note, the lavishly designed restrooms are a sight to behold, so much so that you may feel compelled to capture the opulence in photographs. However, accessing these stunning facilities requires navigating a grand Victorian-style staircase, as the sole elevator was occupied by performers changing costumes. This arrangement seemed to prioritize the convenience of the restaurant's entertainers over that of its patrons

Horrible and expensive food. Drinks ruins. Good Service and very nice location

UNACCOMMODATING FOR ALLERGIES

By EMB |

I visited this restaurant once and will NEVER go back again. I have had Celiac’s Disease and been gluten free for close to 20 years now, and haven’t had a restaurant tell me they couldn’t accommodate my dietary restriction in over 15 years… until I went to Sexy Fish. Upon sitting down, the waiter asked if anyone at the table had any allergies, to which I responded yes that I have Celiac’s. He told me he would tell the kitchen and be right back with the list of food that I could eat. He came back with a list of FOUR dishes the kitchen could make gluten free. FOUR DISHES. That’s all. With over 90 dishes to select from off of their menu, they could only make four dishes gluten free. We asked what about the sushi - sushi, as long as there are no additional sauces on it, should naturally be gluten free. We were told that their sushi was not gluten free. They said this was because their “rice is not gluten free.” We questioned how rice isn’t gluten free, to which they said they “ferment the rice in a vinegar first which is not gluten free.” We asked if they could just use plain white rice to accommodate and make gluten free sushi. Nope, they were unwilling to use any other rice to accommodate and make gluten free sushi. Meanwhile, the waiter would not leave us alone and continuously kept mansplaining how a kitchen works and what makes things gluten free. Appalled, we asked the manager to come over. She was extremely nice and truly did her best to help. However, still the kitchen was utterly unwilling to accommodate gluten free. She told us to look over the menu and see if there was any thing that interested us and she would check with the kitchen to see if they could make it gluten free. We must’ve asked her if close to 15-20 different dishes could be made gluten free and all we were told was that the original four (which consisted of edamame, a burrata, broccoli and 1 plain fish and steak each) and an additional 1 dish (sweet potatoes) could be made gluten free. For a restaurant to not accommodate an allergy, like a gluten allergy, in 2023 is absolutely appalling to me. Clearly, everything on the menu is pre-made with lots of sauces. Makes me wonder how fresh their food really is, if they’re unwilling / unable to serve fresh food, even for someone with an allergy. After an hour of trying to find food that we could all eat (when we sat down the waiter told us they serve everything tapas family style, so accommodating me was accommodating our whole party) we finally decided to leave. We had already ordered cocktails and a bottle of wine, which we told them not to open as we were aware we might end up leaving, so we asked for the check. When the check came, not only were all of our drinks that we had drank on the bill but the wine that we had not opened was also on the check. In my opinion, truly great restaurant service would have been to not charge us for at least one drink or give us some sort of a discount to make up for our trouble and for not accommodating us. To not even do that, but to then charge us for a bottle of wine that we didn’t even open? Absolute disgrace. From start to finish, an absolutely horrible experience. I have never had such an anxiety-inducing and stressful dining experience in my entire life. I would not recommend this restaurant one bit. If you want to go somewhere very scene-y with some pretty drinks and questionable food, then fine by all means it’s your life, go. But if I ever end up back at Sexy Fish, it will be fully against my will. Worst restaurant experience I have ever had. If I could give this restaurant a -10 rating, I absolutely would. If you have an allergy of any sort, especially to gluten, DO NOT GO HERE! I will never be going back.

Cut my hand on the leftover glass in the booth…

By Sasha D |

It was our first time here and we heard great things about this spot. The first impression was great, the bar was the best, very colorful and fun and the bartenders were great. We were then taken by the hostess to a corner booth behind the DJ stand. Not the best table, half the view, but it was ok. Shortly after we sat down I placed my hand on the seat and felt something sting my hand. I cut myself on a small shard of glass. I looked around myself and i found a few shards of glass close to me. My boyfriend called the waiter as we needed a napkin since my hand was bleeding a bit. He came over, looked at us and said he will be right back. A few minutes after he came back and said ‘The Manager will come shortly’. I had to ask for the napkin again.. When he came back, a table right next to us became available and we asked to move as we were still finding glass in the booth! He then only said the hostess already gave away the table and ‘The Manager will come over’. Each time he would go away it would be almost 10 minutes before we could catch him again and we waited for someone to come. Needless to say, this put a sour note on our night and we just wanted to leave. When we asked for the check, my boyfriend mentioned no one had come to talk to us and the server seemed surprised. I didn’t want to waste any more energy and we just left + paid for our full bill. At the very least they should’ve given us the courtesy of talking to us and showing some empathy to the fact that i cut my arm on their furniture! Also, someone could’ve apologized..? We were made to sit in the same spot the whole time, which of course cut our time short and we left. The atmosphere is good overall, but the service is incredibly poor and missing the human factor. Won’t be back..

Didn’t feel welcomed

By Holly E |

First of all, let me say our waiter was so amazing! We were the only black couple in there when we walked in everyone stared and stared as if we didn’t belong there. It was really awkward. One of the managers came by our table and addressed me taking a picture, which I seen so many other people taking pictures so that was really strange. Kind of felt like we were racially profiled didn’t feel comfortable at all. The food was cool the atmosphere was amazing but I won’t be going back, and I will definitely share with my other friends my experience.

Great food, but you won’t be able to hear your dinner companions.

By TAP647 |

Food is amazing. Atmosphere is fun, but the acoustics are loud. It is very challenging to have a conversation. Bathrooms are Instagram worthy with many people snapping selfies and taking videos. The scene is like a club, so be prepared.

Sexy Is The Fish

By Stephanie |

The best restaurant in Miami! My dermatologist told me about this place and said they couldn’t get in so make sure you book early. Why I didn’t listen is beyond me but I was able to look at 3am and I took the last time for lunch. OMG from the moment we walked in. Breathtaking! Our waitress was very sweet & knowledgeable. My husband came back from the bathroom and said please go. Then I remembered reading the reviews… YES go to the bathroom please don’t forget your cameras! The food/drinks were wonderful! The menus were the best menus I’ve ever seen! Looking forward to coming back when I am town hopefully sometime after 6:30pm.

Stay away

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! We picked this place while searching for a venue for an upcoming event and one of us was searching for recommendation to share with hotel guests. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!! I wish I could tell you that this place is worth it....but it's absolutely NOT! Yes it's a cool interior, but the reality is that the food is MEH at best and extremely overpriced. There's a doorman who won't allow you in unless you have a reservation....weird......it's a restaurant not a bar so you immediately feel unwelcomed. Once seated, with heavy traffic around us, we repeatedly had to ask for the food we ordered; the staff was scattered but here's the fun part: After dinner, we ordered 2 after dinner drinks, a server came over and started to remove our water glasses and bussing our table while we were STILL SITTING AT THE TABLE!....but was that the end?! Oh no, a hostess showed up at our table and said 'your time is up, you had 2 hours and you can move to the bar'. I'm sorry....WHAT?! YOU took forever to get our food, had to continously remind the wait staff that food was missing, was trying to remove a dinner entree while we were clearly still eating, and our time is up?!?! And why not tell me there's a time limit when I made reservations?! For three of us it was whopping $390, oh and they had the balls to include a 20% tip. Never EVER again, this place is CRAP and should be off anyone's list - BTW we are locals, we are not tourists, so if you're here visiting our beautiful city, find other places to explore, we have some amazing restaurants what will welcome you and treat you well, stay away from this one.

Must visit in Miami

By Meet Doshi D |

Great place. Good food. Excellent drinks. Beautiful interiors. Super vibe. It's not just a place to eat and drink it offers an immerse experience.

Excellent food. Excellent loos !

By Galen B |

I visited with my wife and 14 year old. We were discussing whether this was our best restaurant of all-time or our second best restaurant of all time, in comparing it to a restaurant where we dined on the Amalfi coast in Italy. Food is incredible, atmosphere is incredible and even the loos\washrooms are incredible.

Fabulous food and people watching

By LilyB |

I love seafood and sushi . I will say that even though the prices are not cheap ; you get what you pay for - fresh , delicious and unique dishes. I’m sure another reviewer will go in depth about the menu so check them out . However - we ordered the pre-fix $95 . Every dish was better than the last . It was the perfect amount of food & it was super healthy . I will say that it is a very “instagram “ and “ selfie “ type of place . Very intricate interior designs and stunning bathroom decor . But there were a ton of diners who just wanted to be seen. Lots of couples not even talking to each other , just on their phones. It was Miami so I had to laugh and just enjoyed the fab good and the people watching - which was amazing .

HORRIBLE STAFF AND SERVICE

By Scott D |

The staff at the sexy fish miami are terrible. Ignore you and look down on you if you do not have money. From the front door staff to the managers walking around like they own the place. It is a terrible image and I will make sure all my friends, coworkers, and family know to NEVER come here.

Fantasy

Delicious food excellent presentation , great fantasy atmosphere . There is a dress code that needs to be modified . Me should be able to wear a collar shirt and dress shorts in Miami .

Don’t go even with a reserve

By Tony Christie C |

we lost our last night in miami in a queue with more than 2 hours of waiting. As soon as we arrived at the restaurant, we were given a forecast of entering in a maximum of 30 min. at all times we watched people without reservations and poorly dressed pass in front of everyone, because they knew someone while we waited. many people with reservations were also waiting for more than 1h. while mostly poorly dressed women or men in tennis shoes with gold cords without reservations passed in front of everyone. after 2h in the standing queue while the attendant said we were next, but others passed in front, we gave up and left. you will be treated poorly and humiliated if you come here, no matter how much money you have. you enter if you meet someone, even if you are poorly dressed

Nice experience

By FannyGus |

We went Wednesday for dinner with friends, the place is very cool and great atmosphere, service was very good , and the food was just ok, and very expensive . The DJ was amazing with lounge, house music, but the worst part was the live band! Terrible! Soooo loud and noisy that the magic of the place just vanished! Not necessary!!! I suggest you to go to the bar and have a drink with DJ music.that’s it! Is a total experience, and don’t forget to visit the restrooms!

Worth a visit!

100% POSITIVE REVIEW

Sexy Fish was a pleasure from beginning to end. The iconic and endless music lyrics enhanced the night. I will always revisit Sexy Fish. The nights seem to never end at Sexy Fish, as does the sublime crowd.

It's worth it

A place with an incredible atmosphere, they take great care of the details of the decoration, the food was very delicious and with a lot of detail, the drinks were nothing out of this world and the service was top quality.

Rude bouncer and place

By TRJRM |

We thought we would check this place out on a Thursday night. We got to the door and the bouncer was extremely rude. I was wearing a dress with flat sandals because we were doing a lot of walking and my husband was wearing a nice outfit and he rudely gave me a look up and down and said “let me see if we can let you in because your sandals don’t have a back to them”!!!! I was so shocked he actually said that to me and obviously he didn’t want to let us in so we said never mind and left. Of course I saw groups of others going in that had sandals with no backs go in after us. I would never go there ever again and think they should rethink how they treat potential customers. I felt shamed for how I was dressed and I was wearing a nice dress but just had flats on. What is wrong with this place????

Terrible

share a negative experience

By Klint I |

I am writing to share a negative experience we had with our reservation at Sexy Fish on 8/11/2024. We had planned a celebration for 8 people, marking a 40th birthday, and chose your restaurant for this special occasion. Unfortunately, due to an unexpected traffic accident, we were delayed by 15 minutes. We called ahead to inform you of our delay and the circumstances. However, upon arriving at the restaurant, the staff at the door informed us that our reservation had been canceled and that we could not be admitted. This not only disrupted our celebration plans but also affected our trust in your restaurant. Our group traveled from another city specifically for this celebration, and the disappointment we felt due to the handling of this situation was significant. We expected a more understanding and professional approach to our situation, and we hope that in the future, a more customer-oriented and flexible approach can be adopted to prevent such issues. We believe that this experience does not reflect the usual service quality of your restaurant, and we hope that measures will be taken to ensure that other customers do not face similar issues.

Discriminatory Seating

By Ositojoe |

Our first visit for our family of 3 did not start well. My wife, who made the reservation, did not request a high-top table by the entrance. When we told the hostess, she reluctantly gave us a table for 2, which inconveniently can seat 3 on the main floor. It was cramped, and the table was too small for 3 people. I thought it was because we had our 15-year-old son with us; however, we noticed they were sitting other guests as a party of 3 in the tables for 4 on the main floor. Discriminatory seating? Perhaps. I brought that to the attention of one of the managers, and he said he would make note in their system for the next time and made an insincere, quick apology. We spent over $700 for the 3 of us in one and a half hours. While the restaurant is beautiful and the food was good, little things such as the type of table make a big difference in the guest’s experience. The restaurant cannot have double standards based on race or looks to give their guests their good tables. The manager could have comped our desserts to make up for their mistake, which did not happen. The three-star rating is for the total first time.

Not for Sushi But…

By Robin K |

The servers were great. The ambulance is beautiful. It’s definitely a go to place in Miami with an amazing vibe that said it’s not really great for sushi at all but the appetizers and I bet the main cook food is awesome. Don’t miss the pork belly and the watermelon salad they were awesome!

the heist

By Chowing64 |

A real robbery! We ordered some snacks, 6 bottles of water and a bottle of tequila for a total of 2,100 usd. The food is average and the prices are exorbitant! . The place stands out for its decoration but not so much. I was ruined and unable to buy flowers from the lady outside.

This place is all hype

By LM |

This is one of those places that's supposed to seem very exclusive with velvet ropes outside to limit entry. Walk in and its a nice ambiance with good looking staff in colorful uniforms and some beautiful young women as patrons. The problem is that while some of the food is good (miso cod, kimchi fried rice) the majority of the dishes are mediocre. Not bad but severely mediocre. Then you get the bill and its as if you were just robbed. Just think of everyday pan asian dishes that you have had everywhere else except it tasted better elsewhere and was likely half the price. one dish in particular that I was told was a signature dish that everyone loved was the waygu potstickers. If you like puree meat with truffle in a dumpling you might like it. I did not care for it at all. I was downright insulted when it came up as $45.00 on the bill. Another signature dish was the king crab sushi roll for $50.00. A Relatively tasteless roll cut into 5 pieces . I spoke to a Jr manager about this and her reply was "everyone loves this place", they are now opening one in Manhattan. Good luck, I replied. I will enjoy one day sooner than later seeing Sexy Fish out of business. I hope the investors don't spend their money too quickly, New Yorkers have never and will never support a ridiculous restaurant that does not begin to deliver. As for Sexy Fish Miami, once the beautiful people stop coming, this place will be out of business in no time. Just like the rest of the "hot new places". another Joke of a restaurant.
