"First Time"

The food was awesome, very old school, we loved it, good customer service. Reminded us of growing up simple but very good. Wyatt's Country BBQ, is how we googled this place. Will visit again when in the ATL. We had the slap of ribs dinner with sides.

Wicked Good BBQ with Equally Excellent Fixings

MMMM, just the right amount of vinegar in the sauce and not too sweet.... this is great sauce...... and, oh yes, the collards - excellent and the potato salad - just right. I was disappointed cause they were out of candied yams - little did I know the treat I was in for with the potato salad. The staff is as good as the food but, then again, how could it be any other way?

Never judge a book by its cover...

Let me start of by stating that I'm a BBQ snob. I grew up in Kansas City, moved to Texas at 24, then to Atlanta at 27. I've worked at BBQ restaurants & I've had GREAT BBQ. And I don't use any sauce other than Gates (spicy combined with original), even though I have to order it online or have mom send it. My only issue is that I don't like bones, so I won't touch ribs... I know, it's so wrong.... Wyatt's looks shabby on the outside. And, yes, shabby on the inside. BUT the food is WONDERFUL!!!!! And I've found a sauce that is good outside of KC (sorry Mr. Gates). I had the chop pork sandwich with an order of mac & cheese. YUM!!! I almost didn't make it home before busting into the sandwich! (Wyatt's is take-out). Very nice helping of the meat, and enough sauce to coat it in saucy goodness :) I ordered the rib tips for my husband - so we'll see how he likes those when he gets home. You should definately eat here!

Stopped by Wyatt's Diner for a late lunch. They are very much open!!!! Had the rib tip dinner with collard greens, mac & cheese, and potato salad. Made sure I had a slice of lemon pound cake for the road. This place is NOTHING to look at, but will not fail you for real pit BBQ....

The Book Fit The Cover

I've read so many positive comments about this restaurant. I'm starting to wonder about the palates of Atlantans. I was expecting to be wow'd but was instead disappointed. We waiting FOREVER for bland food. While in line we were told that "they were slammed by a large group" and had ran out of food at 6:30 p.m.!! That's dinner traffic; make more food. We order the rib dinner with yams and coleslaw. We wanted mac-n-cheese, but they were out. The ribs has no flavor beside the sauce. No smoke, char, anything to indicate that they were prepared on a grill. The yams are the only reason I gave them two stars. The cole slaw came from a tub from a third party vendor. Instead of putting it in a container, a large spoonful was placed on wax paper and added to the dinner. This was soon discarded after tasting the bland ribs. Not again.

Wow!

Stopped by on our way from the airport to Decatur. The ribs are fantastic! Definitely worth the stop. Being from Texas, I love my ribs. I rank these up there with the best of them!

Best BBQ Ribs in the City

We have picked up ribs from the amazing place for years and have always enjoyed them. First of all this little place is mainly to go. And it is real BBQ on a wood fired grill that is patiently tended to like you would when cooking yours at home....NOT like the rest of the Bbq places around Atlanta that put it in a smoker mass produce smoked meat which imho is not Bbq. I always ask for my ribs with the sauce on the side. Last week I let them chop them into smaller pieces(they take the rib tips off and also chop the ribs in two pieces) a rack yields about 36 to 39 pierces. We took them home, warmed them on low for about 20 minutes and ate. Of course we had a whole rack and 4 adults had plenty to eat. Now since the ribs are Bbq'd versus smoked, they are not precooked therefore the meat does not just fall off the bone...if you want that go elsewhere but you will not get that perfect flavor of real BBQ. The pulled pork is also very good. I also get it with the sauce in the side. Now, go ahead and splurge for 50 cents and get that cornbread. I buy extra so I can have it for breakfast the next day. Enjoy. Think I have to return again next week.

BY FAR MY FAVORITE RIB SHACK

This place has been in business for over 50 years! Obviously, they are doing something right. I grew up in ATL, practically 2 miles from this joint and can't believe I only learned about this place about 3 years ago. And, now, on every visit to the city i make sure to hit them up. I generally walk outta here with two slabs of ribs; one sauced and the other one plain. Along with that I get a couple large peach cobblers. I have never been disappointed with the quality, quantity or taste of the food. I'll be coming here for as long as they are open.

Do yourself a favor!

Despite the exterior, Wyatt's Diner offers some of the best bbq to be had in Atlanta. Everything on the menu is delicious. The line running out the door should tell you something. You honestly can't go wrong with anything they serve. If you get there early enough in the day you can even get some of their fantastic banana pudding! The staff is amazingly friendly and welcoming - despite how busy they always are, they give personal attention and always make me feel like they remember exactly who I am even if it's been a while. Tip: bring some wet wipes!
