I don’t live near Shabu but whenever i visit my boyfriend this is the place we will always go NO DOUBT, always Shabu. The buffet is amazing and always leaves us satisfied and full. Don’t get me started on the wagyu. My boyfriend is obsessed with it and always requests a double order and the staff is always so accommodating and nice. They make our visit very pleasant and are always right there when we need them for anything. And The ice station is what tops it off. It’s the best and we love it!

Service: This took a spiral down at the end, we were a big group so when the bill came the group wanted to know if the tip was included on the bill like most restaurants that after a certain amount of people they add the tip to the bill. it was asked to the server if it was tip included or not. server stated he WOULD GO AND ASK. he came back and said "yea its included so if you leave it at 0 its already added" so the group did what they were informed. as we were getting ready to leave and talk of what we were doing next the owner came over with the bills and said "were is the tip? you don't give tip?" they explained what was told to the group. instead of explaining that his worker had been wrong he got aggressive and said "what? you don't like my server, you don't want to give tip?" and put the bills on the table as if not asking but demanding a tip. I do not recommend this place at all just cause of that moment. that destroyed the service rating. Food: the stand food was a bit hard and had been left on the heating area for far too long, but it was okay. second filling felt a bit undercook but okay. good drink fountain selection for teas. the broths were good and flavorful, selection was good for the pots. others like the way the broth was server, i prefer the personal ones instead of the shared. atmosphere: was good, a bit crowded on the position of the chairs which meant that people had to stand up when someone closer to the wall had to walk out to go get stuff but it was okay since you were mostly waiting for the pot to cook. okay decorated not to showy and good to talk and spend time with friends. Would I recommend it: No, not since we were told one thing and then had the owner just demand a tip when we were told otherwise, he made a scene out of bad information given by his staff and instead of say "sorry about the bad information i will explain to my employee so this doesn't happen again. if you like our service a tip would be appreciated" and the bad information would have been clearified and not felt like an attack.

We went here with friends for dinner , very fast service and the food is yummy. I recommended here!!!

Fun night at Shabu and the whole family loved the variety of food. Staff were friendly and professional.

Food was great. Service was great. Was nice to be able to pick your own items and cook your own items fun for the whole family.

This was our first time having hotpot. My adult daughter and I have been wanting to try this forever but none are available where we live. Price was around $40 per person but well worth it. It is all you can eat! They have you choose 2 stock/ broth bases and 3 meats. While they prepare the meat and base you go to the bar which includes rices, noodles, etc but also includes shrimp, muscles, clams and a ton of veggies along with many other things Which I tried but have no idea what they were. When you med more meats you just flag someone down and tell them your selection. We have lamb, waygu beef belly and round, and chicken but there are other portions. Drinks are included in price. For desert they have a shaved ice bar which was also new for us. Shaved iced with your choice of syrup we had condensed milk. There are candy or cookie toppings, popping pearls, jellies fruit and fresh fruit. It was soo Delicious!!!!

The quality and selection of meat is fantastic, as are the various broth options. I especially like the chrysanthemum leaves in the veggie section, as you rarely see that at hot pot places. We also love the tremendous variety available at the sauce bar, and the fact that dessert and beverages (soft drinks and teas) are included!

Been here many times over the years and it’s been consistent. You can join the Yelp waitlist if you’re within 2 miles which is convenient. While you’re waiting for a table in the waiting area, they have a drink station of water or mango tea. First you pick your soup bases and place your meat order with your server. Then go make your dipping sauces. I love that they have all the hot food, seafood and veggies out for you to grab freely. Drinks and snow ice machine were also unlimited. I had several rounds of cab top blade and pork belly all to myself. Can’t go wrong because you make everything yourself. However, the quality is not as great compared to a la carte places but you do get the value.

I love the food and services, the delicious mango green tea, also the desert is the best. We drive an hour from our home to your restaurant because we love the hot pot.

We had so much on the table, was kind of overwhelming, didn’t know where to start. Food was okay, had a good variety, but the soup base didn’t seem to have a strong flavor, we got miso and suki aki. Tried the crawfish, they didn’t have any kind of seasoning on them (I don’t know why I was thinking it was gonna have some old bay on it 🙄) but it tasted bland. The one really flavorful thing to me was the teriyaki chicken, even the gyozas seemed kind of bland. They had a dessert thing too, but said the ice cream machine was broken, though for some reason still had the toppings out for you to get. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Was kind of disappointing for those points, but otherwise alright. Not sure that I would want to go back to that one for that price, server was not particularly attentive to us either.

Good selection. Meat cuts are fresh and nicely cut. Service has been great the past couple times I’ve been here. Drinks included in price.

It is not cheap for $37. 10% senior discount. The lamb is very good. The wagyu beef is disappointing. It does not look like wagyu beef. It does not have the marble look. It does not taste lik wagyu beef. The choice of vegetable is limited. There should be more varity. It is a small buffet. Don't expect a lot of choices. Good choice of soup choice. Service was good.

Really nice selection of veggies, proteins, and sauces. Love coming here! Also, be sure to have enough room for the bingsu bar!

Good hotpot spot in Mira Mesa, San Diego. It has become our go to spot and we like their soup selection, vegetable and drinks.

We usual come for dinner, but can for lunch and it was such a great experience. Not too crowded or loud and the food is perfect, as always!!

Good selection. Tasty! Garlic miso Tonkatsu is bomb! Comes with hot dishes, choice of soup, and best of all DESSERT!

Fresh food is always available. Love that drinks are included and they have bingsu, freshly shaved ice. Crew got better on asking customers need.
