This is a wonderful place for a family to sample Israeli food. The kitchen turns out a series of dishes that are perfect for passing around. Each plate is freshly made and presented right from the kitchen. There is no "warming" table here. All of us went home well filled. It was an evening in which we were sad to say Shalom (good bye) and looking forward to saying Shalom (hello) again.

We go to Shalom Y'all about once a month for our lamb chop fix. Best lamb chops on the planet. The hummus is unbelievably creamy. We have it with cucumber slices instead of pita for a gluten-free option. I hear from my gluten-eating friends that the pita is amazing.

Very energetic vibe; difficult to carry on a conversation. I wish they would take reservations for smaller parties. Everything was good and seasonal - loved the pomegranate seeds garnishing many items. Nice waitstaff. Will come again.

We went as a large group for my birthday. I didn't know what to expect. It is in a warehouse neighborhood and I really didn't even think much of the menu. BUT we ordered a whole lot of different dishes and not one was a disappointment. There was nothing left on any plate. As we said when we left, it's like sushi in that you could just keep ordering and eating more.

My daughter had wanted to go to this restaurant as she had heard it was great. I was a bit hesitant as I am more of a plain eater. Forget plain eating when you can enjoy food like this!!!! The flavors in each dish were mind-boggling. Honesty!! Each dish had such amazing flavors and yet each dish was complementary to the next. And everything was cooked perfectly, from the carnitas to the salmon, to the potatoes, the vegetables, and the pita bread. In addition to the amazing and flavorful food, we received great service from both Tyler, our main server, and Sean. Besides being very friendly and attentive to our needs, I was quite taken by their enthusiasm for the dishes as they served them. Is there any greater testament to the food of a restaurant than knowing the servers love each item and have such joy in describing and serving these dishes to others! And finally, besides the amazing food and service, the space and design had a very cool and calm vibe. Eat here and ENJOY!!!!

6 of us enjoyed a delicious lunch. Hummus is creamy and smooth - eggplant perfectly spiced - hot pita bread served with dips was fantastic. Falafel were crispy but soft in the middle and served with a spicy green sauce. French fries are a must to order!!! Nice wine selections and priced very well. Only negative is that the server was not overly friendly. A definite must when you are in Portland!

I really love everything about Shalom Y'all. I like the SE location, I like the ambiance (I really love to sit up at the bar), and I love the food. My only complaint, if I had one, is that I wish they had a fattoush salad on the menu because it's one of my all-time favorite salads and I have yet to find a good one in Portland (and I know they would do it well). I can't say enough good things about this little gem.

Everything is top notch here, food and service. We came on a Thursday night and they graciously accommodated us without a reservation. They originally sat us at the bar but my daughter was with my husband looking for parking so we had to move since I didn’t think about the fact she was under 18. They moved us to the chef counter (which was an upgrade IMO) but gave us a free eggplant dip appetizer for our trouble (which was delicious). We also had hummus and watched them roll out and bake (in a pizza style open oven) the best pita!! Hot and delicious-you can’t get enough. We also had a tasty hummus appetizer. We had the chicken shawarma which I was a bit nervous about because it was thigh meat (not my preferred part) but it was super flavorful and the outside was deliciously crispy. We also had the salmon skewers-perfectly cooked with cucumber, feta, grapefruit and spicy peppers (which you can get on the side). Another delicious dish. Service was very pleasant and attentive. Overall a great meal!!!

I love the food here and the ambience! I wish that Shalom y’all could live up to the restaurant that I know it has the potential to be! We have been here quite a few times and the service is very slow and too casual for my liking. It’s takes too long to get someone’s attention. Tonight is relatively quiet here, yet they are still slow and not very attentive. There are 11 total guests in the restaurant and 4 people on the floor and it took us far too long to get our bill. We have also been here when it very crowded and the service is still the same. Servers will walk past your table without looking to see if you need something. They won’t even make eye contact and when you try to call them over, they ignore you. The food is very tasty and even though it’s rated $$, $14 a bit pricey for the mushroom hummus (the regular hummus is $13) The food is great just don’t expect excellent service and it is not an inexpensive venture when you order several small plates that add up to a chunk of change!

Wonderful middle eastern food. Their humus might have been the best I've ever had. The service was great too. I highly recommend Shalom Y'all. We will be back soon.

In the warehouse district of SE Portland, a little tough to get to. But pretty good food. I'm not sure what made it "Israeli" rather than "Middle Eastern", but the dishes were well prepared with attention to detail. Most were served "community style", like the mezze in the Middle East and Turkey. So you get to sample a lot of items. They don't skimp on the spices, though nothing was really "hot" spicy, but rather, "flavorful". Service was a bit slow, seemed like they were short staffed. Meanwhile, at 1:30pm on a Wednesday, the place was packed. And that's the problem. All hard surfaces, in "warehouse chic", and truly one of the loudest restaurants I've been in in ages. I got hoarse having to shout across the table. Yes, I know, that's the way it is these days, but still...

Living in Lake Oswego, we rarely visit the eastside restaurants, but decided it was time to venture outside our comfort zone with the help of a gift certificate from our kids for Shalom Y'all. The restaurant is small with a definite 'hipster-ish' feel. Our server was very pleasant and helpful with our selections. We started with an assorted dish of hummus, falafel, olives, Israeli salad and a yogurt/tahini concoction, served with a large pita pocket. We moved onto grilled asparagus on a bed of yogurt/fried onion sauce. And lastly, we had the chicken kabob on a bed of rice, lentils and fried onions drizzled with some sort of yogurt/tahini sauce. Everything was very tasty and delicious - seasonings were awesome. The food came quickly and service was attentive. We'll be back - we really enjoyed our meal.

I’ve dined with Shalom Y’all many times, and I rarely write reviews. This restaurant is exceptional, so much so, that an uncomfortable date couldn’t have ended my evening due to numerous outstanding dishes. It literally made my night. The date, that’s a different story, but Shalom Y’all rescued what could have been a terrible evening!

Shalom Y'All is the kind of place you come to enjoy the vibrant vibe of a popular place to eat. The place was just plain alive with and atmosphere of good friends meeting to eat. We just stopped in for a light, late lunch, and really enjoyed the fried cauliflower bowl and the roasted eggplant. Both wonderfully flavorfull!

Just go. The food is out of this world, starting with the interesting wine list and melt in your mouth homemade pita bread through interesting sauces and meats and vegetables. The service was impeccable. The smaller location is quieter, but the larger location is lots of fun. We will go again soon!

Billed as Jewish Street Food, the restaurant is off the beaten path on the Southwest side of Portland. The place was quite crowded on a Wednesday evening with young and old. We sat at a bar with a view into the very busy kitchen. Everyone was moving quickly and smoothly but the food did take quite awhile, and my pita sandwich was worth waiting for - fresh vegetable, chicken to perfection and wonderful fresh pita bread. My companion's dinner, a salmon special, she said was quite delicious. Portions are modest, which is good. We enjoyed the waitstaff a lot - very friendly and kind.

We had a great evening at Shalom Y'all, though it was quite busy and we had to wait at the bar for almost 45 minutes before our party of 7 could be seated. BUT, we got the large round table with the lazy susan, which was perfect for our sharing meal. The Babaganoush was fantastic, as was the falafel. The pita was hot and puffy and fresh. And, did I mention the wait at the bar was well-punctuated by some delicious cocktails? A wonderful evening.

We did not particularly love the food but it is more because of the distinct flavors we are unaccustomed to. The Labneh and french fries were great. We did not like the flavor of the Chicken Schwarma or the Chicken Kebabs. Very nice staff. The location is next to a train which is very loud when it goes by. We will not return here but recommend if accustomed to Middle Eastern food.

We have a party of 6 coming to the restaurant for Valentine and i am not sure whether to come back again ? This is the 2nd time the restaurant ran out of Trout fish dishes and esp. on Valentine day ? I ended up order the honey fried chicken since i don't want to eat red meat and it was quite disappointed . What's i didn't like was the server's attitude when the restaurant don't have what it is on the menu. I hope this review to get to the management's attention.

Excellent food and many vegetarian options. They will bring an ingredient list for those with allergies. Prompt service. Indoor and street side dining. Indoor dining requires proof of vaccination

Great staff. Wonderful food. Amazing cocktails. Hummus was outstanding. Lamp chops were epic. Save some of the pita to drag through the garlic sauce left over. Tahini dessert was perfect light ending to the evening.

This place is great. Wonderful drinks at the bar. Food is creative and delicious. Staff is super friendly; thanks Kyle for all the recommendations . It is a bit "cozy", and you may have to wait for a table, but it is worth it. They can accomodate a gluten free diet.

We were there for the 1st time with a group of 6. We had reservations and we were seated timely. We ordered 5 different appetizers for the table and they were all delicious. I had the Baharat Chicken Kebab and it was delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Worst customer service ! Not recommending! Tried to get some food but instead had to leave angry because one lady that gave me attitude for no reason.

I have been here several times in 2020 and have loved my experiences The outdoor dining area is fabulous and the menu is superb! Their iceberg is incredibly their scrunching and their unique cocktails appeal to many. My favorite is S’Hug Me All Night Long! The order window provides efficiency and socially distant precautions. The staff is enthusiastic attentive friendly and very helpful in helping make dining decisions. They offer authentic Israeli street food and each dish is a culinary experience of its own. I am excited to return to indoor dining when it’s available in Oregon I’m excited for the future of Shalom Yall once we get through this darn pandemic The meantime I will support them by ordering takeout. Support local restaurants!

Extremely good food for even us vegetarians. :) The falafel melted in our mouths, the cabbage skewers were surprisingly delicious, the hummus and harissa potatoes lip-smacking good. Round it off with soft pitas and a heirloom tomato and olive oil salad, it was just perfect for our friends night out. There are more things to be tried on the menu and we will be back!
Unique Happy Hour
If you want something different than the usual bar food for Happy Hour, this is the place. Middle Eastern Cuisine with a twist. The food is very fresh, the best pita ever. Creative cocktails and a good wine list. Service was attentive and friendly. It does get busy so timing is everything.
