Went there after a long day in Portland. Since it was in walking distance from our hotel, we decided to get something for dinner. The hot turkey was uneatable, very dry. The country fried chicken was so bad, I left it on the table. The only thing I can say positive, the waitress was very nice.

We ate here after a long day of flights for our family vacation. The service was excellent! Our waitress was delightful, helpful and attentive. The food was below average. The menu is enormous which offers a ton of choices, but none of them were delicious. Hubby had the bbq bacon cheeseburger....it was edible. Fries were great! Daughter had the chicken strip plate which was average. I had the stuffed hash browns. They were okay, but not outstanding. Son had a breakfast platter which he said was average. I would recommend if you are in a pinch, but our bill was over $40 for very mediocre food.

We enjoyed eating here. The staff is super friendly and makes you feel right at home. The menu choices are great and the dishes are tasty. A great place to eat casual family-style meals any time during the day. Nice specials are offered throughout the week. We enjoyed our free pie with our dinner.

The food was good, but the portions were small. The salad had less then 1 cup to it, the quiche was also small.

Food was very good, seems like most of the breakfast were fairly high in calories but tasty. Love the fresh jam and biscuits. Be sure and look at the honored citizens menu a little smaller portions.

I went to this restaurant for breakfast and it was excellent. They had an Oregon jam that was very good and I may have to see if I can buy it online. I went back later in the day to try one of the many pie selections. I will seek out these restaurants on my travels and would return to this one for sure.

We eat at Sharis' in our hometown a lot. This one was larger and also had a nice sunroom with beautiful flowering bushes outside. The food was perfect for our light supper and the service was excellent.

This cafe is very much like a Perkins or Village Inn - all day breakfast, homestyle food, and pie pie pie. Our service was unremarkable - nothing bad happened, but it wasn't outstanding. Our entrees were ok - part of my meal was wrong and arrived a bit cold, but tasted good all the same. The pie was very good, which saved the whole visit. This wouldn't be my first choice of places to eat, but if you're worn out and hungry from traveling all day, this is a comfortable place near hotels to get a filling meal.

We were out late in Portland, and heading back to our hotel. It was past midnight and we expected things to be closed. Thank goodness for Shari's! We were surprised that there were many great choices for meals! I got the Chicken and Dumplings, which was really, really good! My companion was also very happy with his meal. We also both got desserts, which were really good. I got a pie- I forget what kind of berry it is, but I remember they said that it was a special berry grown in Oregon, and is similar to a blackberry- anyway, it was so good! If there were a Shari's in Los Angeles I would go there a lot!

This was a great place...the food was awesome and the staff made it even better!! We had tried many Sharis restaraunts and found this one was the best of all!

When I was putting together my itinerary for this trip, I knew I had to try this place. There is something about family restaurants that I love. I ordered Grilled Lemon Chicken and Rice and holy the flavors was delicious. The servers are extremely polite and nice and have answered all my questions. I didn't realize that a slice of pie came with this order. The pie was to die for. I chose lemon meringue pie 😍

Went to the one near Delta Park my first night in Portland. The service was great, the food was delicious, and the Lemon Meringue pie made my taste buds happy :)

Shari's has the nicest servers! Their pie is great. I tried all of the fruit pies and I honestly can't decide which one I like the best. Each pie is bursting with big, juicy pieces or whole fruit. Pie is the perfect balance of tart and sweet. I didn't try the cream pies but I suspect they are delicious also. Shari's has pumpkin bisque soup right now. It's so good that I have been searching for a pumpkin soup recipe since I returned home. Shari's also has a tomato bisque soup that is the best tomato soup I have ever had. I didn't try many things on their menu. I got stuck on the soup. grilled cheese, and pie.

Location close. You can walk from the hotel. Food is alwsys really good as the service. Menu and prices great and their pies are sooooo good.

My family was staying at the Best Western next door, so we walked over to Shari's for dinner after checking in on a Wednesday. The place was packed, probably due to so many residents losing power that night due to a wind storm. Wednesdays are also "free pie" Wednesdays, so there were likely people there due to that promotion as well. In spite of the surge of business, the staff did their absolute best to keep up with the demand. Our order came out relatively quickly, and was exactly as requested. The pies are supposed to be the most famous part of Shari's as a chain, and they did not disappoint. We would certainly visit again the next time we're in Portland, especially if it's a Wednesday!

Excellent quality and size of serving of very good food! Super pies for dessert. Will definitely return.

I ordered the grill cheese and cream of asparagus soup. Soup was overly thick and had a very weird taste to it. Grilled cheese was only 1/2 of a sandwich and very greasy. Pie was just ok. Service was slow.

This is a very good place to eat. Waitresses are very nice, friendly and serve food on time. Also we did get a Sheri's card and found out we have one in our state. Does not matter what meal you want to eat, they have it all.

Our short stay in Portland was rained out so we spent the evening close to our hotel. Shari’s was a good choice for after dinner coffee and dessert. We enjoyed great Oregon Marionberry pie & apple pie. Our server was really friendly and accommodating.

Shari's is a northwest owned cafe type restaurant that is similar to Denny's. We've eaten at a number of them and they are usually good, as was this one. This one is located in the Delta Park area of north Portland. We were staying in the Columbia River RV Park nearby and it was an easy (non freeway) 10 minute drive. The sign outside said that this Shari's had been recently completely remodeled and the booths and carpet looked very new. Everything was clean, as is the norm at all Shari's. There is nothing 'fancy' here, but our dinner was good and reasonably priced. I had the Cuban sandwich and my husband had the Top Sirloin steak. The soup was delicious. Service was a bit slow to start but then was fine. We did not have our RV, but there is some RV parking next door and also I believe on the street.

Had the eggs Benny and my wife had c&c BLT. Food was quick and hot. Waitress was very attentive. Gres service

The service was awesome. The menu had much variety. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs. It was awesome. Our server was awesome. Great place for breakfast for sure.

Over by Loves Travel Stop an the TA Truck Stop on 84 .....This place is my favorite of all the places to eat in Portland an surrounding areas.. The best food an very friendly service....Ask for Sharon's work area.., Shes a hard worker, never sits down, very polite an truly asks if your having a good day or not..... I always stop here coming into portland an the way out as well......

went there with a friend for dinner while they were having a prime rib special along with all you can eat shrimp! Great price great service but don't order the prime rib, it was WAY over cooked, and not the best of quality meat but, I don't like shrimp and I tasted my friends and they were delishious!

Since Overlook Restaurant closed we had to look for another place to have breakfast. I used to go to Sharis for breakfast when they first opened 40 years ago. Now I am back as a senior and part of the Sharis Cafe Club!!!

This restraint was located right by the motel we stayed at. The service, the food was all really good. My daughter wanted a pie from here and the waiter mAde sure we had everything we needed to eat the pie the next day. Excellent service!

I ordered a sirloin steak that was a very small portion. It was good but not worth the price. They had a great selection of pies. The only thing that turned my off about that was when the waitress said "We can tale a piece of pie and put it in a shake for you....ewwwwwwwww......sounds disgusting, I'm sorry. LOL!

I had the Chicken Salad with Northwest Berries and it was large and very good.. our waitress was attentive and efficient. Make sure you leave room for a piece of pie, it is divine, especially with a scoop of ice cream.

The food was OK but nothing special. I have only had breakfast there so not sure about the rest of the day. Food was not real hot when it was served. The servings were more than enough for a hungary person but nothing special in the way of choices. Very loud and crowded on the weekends with alot of group gatherieng.

What a find! Fabulous food. Fresh and very appertizing. Wide menu selection.Coffee was even good! Great staff!

I wanted chicken, decided on chicken strips which I haven't had in years and usually from KFC. These were very over cooked and not good at all. Would not recommend or ever order again. My side salad was very good and other times I've been to Shari's I've had tasty food. We bought a pie to take home which was delicious.

First time to restaurant and greeted by Kristina. She was amazing and the service and food was top notch. Hope to return again soon and amazing service and experience. Highly recommend and thanks to Kristina for the service.

Staff was wonderful, place clean, prices low, and food good. It is a coffee shop, so you get what you come for.

A great meal we had steaks cook to order and very quick service. Which was surprising for being as busy as it was.

We left the hotel and drove to the city looking for a restaurant called the Daily Feast. Our GPS took us right to the location but to our surprise, there was no restaurant . At least there was no restaurant we could find. Because we were downtown, we thought we would just drive around and hope we could just luck up on one. As luck would have it, when we were fortunate enough to see a restaurant, there was no parking and where we found parking there was no restaurants. At that point, we made the only reasonable decision....retreat to the suburbs where they have this new concept of locating restaurants adjacent to parking lots. What a concept!! This is a long and drawn out explanation of how we wound up at Shari’s. Sharks served up the typical banal breakfast offered by a million places just like it.

First warning sign: trashy outside area. Second sign: took forever for server to come take our order. Third sign: employees standing around having loud personal conversations. Fourth sign: cook playing loud and vulgar music (not just my opinion. Another employee said, “Hey, man, you got to turn that down! Customers can hear that, and that’s some bad stuff!”) Fifth sign: we wanted quesadillas, and our server said they were out of tortillas, chips, and beef. I said I’d have some soup. Nope, out of soup, too. Really we should have left, and gone to Burger King next door. I ordered Asian salad. They were out of sesame seeds. The dressing was thin and oily. Husband had steak salad. Meat was okay, dressing was good, but salad was not fresh.

Great, fast service for breakfast or lunch. Fabulous pie....and can purchase one to go. Friendly staff and ample parking.

Our first time at Shari's, and we were very pleased with the food! We ordered a chicken BLT, but customized it ( a lot ). Service was great, and the food was really REALLY good. Tried the pies - chocolate supreme and peanut butter- they were actually too sweet for our tastes. We'll be back to try more menu items though!

We had a hankering for some pie and Shari's was directly in front of our hotel so we could walk through the parking lot and get some great desserts!!!

We do not have Shari's in California so this reminded me a lot of a Marie Calendar's. They have a huge selection of pies to choose from and this is probably what they are known for. What I like most was that they were open 24 hours which worked for our late night dinner after a long day of travel. It is within walking distance from the Best Western which made it extremely convenient. We had friendly service and our food was good. We didn't try the pie because we were stuffed but if we ever are in the area, it's on our list.

My wife and I visited because it was next to our hotel. Our expectations were not high but we were pleasantly surprised. I had chicken and waffles and she had a salad and quiche with a piece of cherry pie. Good food and great prices

This is one of the Shari s with excellent service and food. The seasonal pies are wonderful. [The Quiche is HORRIFIC! Stick to pies.] Actually all the food I have had at this restaurant is excellent for coffee house fare accept the cardboard and paste quiche. Seriously, it says fresh baked, but it should say fresh re-bake and reheat. I wonder if they ever actually made a fresh quiche?]

Walked over from the Best Western next door for dinner on a weeknight (Wed) and was happily surprised to find out it was Free Pie Day! (with entree) I ordered a sandwich that as I recall was like pulled pork, bacon and pesto. It was sooo salty, I couldn't finish it. I even pulled the bacon out and scraped some pesto off. My daughter had quiche, which she said was good. We each ordered a piece of two different cream pies that were delicious. I wish they had at least mentioned that you don't get free pie when you order breakfast item for dinner. I would have bought it anyway but still, they could have said so.

Visited the location by the Portland Airport, we used a coupon, that saved us about $15.00 per couple. The food was good, the kitchen was a bit slow, but the servers were spot on. I don't mind the kitchen being slow, everything came out as ordered, and was hot. Not all locations are equal, so visit at your own risk based on reviews of other locations. We really liked this one, and will return again. Join their rewards club, the coupons they send out are great. All four of us had something different, none of us had any problems with the quality or portion size. We all had pie and all four varieties we tried were great.

Shari's always goes the extra mile to satisfy their guests. Our breakfast was fantastic and so was the service!

This restaurant has the best staff. We were from out of town and my wife liked the Marion Berry pie we cannot get at home. The Manager made a point of speaking to us every time we were there. When we were leaving to fly home he gave my wife a Free Pie to take with her. I don't know of that ever happening where we live.

We have never been to Shari's and had dinner there. We were seated quickly but had to wait while for someone to take our order and get our food.. A nice variety of items to choose from and we ate everything.

We were staying at the Portland Meadows Best Western and Shari's is right next door. We both had their French dip and it was very good. We both order pie, always excellent.

We'd just flown into Portland and were very happy to find a restaurant so near our airport hotel. I just had to try the most unique food idea I've ever tried- a pie shake. I chose a shake with a slice of marionberry pie mixed in. It was terrific! You could taste the crust, but without it being chunks of crust. We also tried the marionberry pie itself for dessert and it was wonderful. They offer senior citizens smaller portions of meals, which is nice. The Summer Berry Chicken Salad made a wonderful meal. The cafe is reminiscent of a diner in its decor, but much bigger. They offer whole pies for sale and we were sorry our travels precluded it. We saw other Shari's in our travels around western Oregon.

They have your typical burger, meat & potatoes type foods... some with a nice country twist to it. Personally, it's hit & miss sometimes. However, their TURKEY dinner for Thanksgiving is AMAZING!

We are our first breakfast at Sharis, but went to Elmer's the rest of our stay. The waitress was very nice and friendly. They sell whole pies, similar to Coco's restaurants. The food was average, but then we only ate breakfast so I can't really give a fair judgment about the menu in general.

We stopped in at Shari's for dinner as it was close to our hotel. The server was very friendly and helpful with menu suggestions. Both our sandwiches were tasty as was the soup and side salad. We didn't have room for pie, but the server packed it for us 'to go' so we could enjoy it later.

We bought a chocolate cream pie. It was delicious. Great place for pies. 10 bucks for that pie. ...😊😆😆😆😆😆😆

Disgusting. Our server had no idea about anything. She had no idea what came on my sandwich (FYI-- nothing. It was dry bread and cold turkey), what street we were on, what a marionberry was or was like or where walmart was, as I was told it was across the street from the restuarant. The food tasted horrible, all of us were nauseous later that night and we were lost. Never again.

We had not been to this restaurant in awhile. It used to be dark green inside, dark wood and dark carpet. The design of the building makes the windows level with the grounds outside, so with the dark interior it used to project a very cool / cold vibe which was really nice in the summer. The rest of the year you wanted to pull your coat collar up. We were completely surprised by the remodel ! Nice warm wood tones, muted yellows, beautiful new lighting. All the upholstery and rugs have been replaced - the place really feels much more open and welcoming. This is still one of the best places in North Portland for a breakfast with a very wide range of dishes to choose from. Good job Shari's !

Arrived for dinner around 7:30pm, well beyond dinner rush. Not very busy and had to wait to be seated. Hostess was pleasant but took a long time for wait staff to appear, equally long wait for order to be taken. Meal arrived but not the starter I ordered. Another waitress took over as she could see service was suffering. Starter did arrive and was not charged for it. Typical food quality, as expected. Just a service issue.

The portion of our dinner is very small, and the taste is not good, it is not worth for the money we pay.

We were able to walk to Shari's and take all 8 of us for some meals. Lots of seating, service was great, the 2 kids, ages 9 and 10 we thrilled with the kids menus. Also the food was excellent.

Had an old favorite Club Sandwich and Fries. Friendly staff and quick service. Did not have to wait on drink refills - anticipated my request. This location is close the Portland EXPO and the Portland International Raceway (PIR).

Conveniently located to the best hotel we stayed at on our trip - the restaurant was twenty steps from the lobby - we went there for convenience since were very tired and were surprised at the quality of the food and the excellent service.in an American-style restaurant. We usually avoid such chains, but this one is exceptionally good. We loved their wings and pie.

The food was okay. There are better places to eat out there and cheaper. However, just for the experience, this place is okay.

We stopped here for dinner because we wanted to try the pie. Much to our surprise the fare was better than food from most chain diners.I ordered a salad and was happy to get mixed greens not iceberg lettuce. We tried 3 different pies; strawberry chocolate ganache, lemon meringue, and strawberry rhubarb. Overall, friendly efficient service, good food, and yummy pies.

I had southwestern eggs from the senior menu and it was the right amount of food. Fresh and good. Staff was friendly and not too attentive although adequate.

Visited Shari's on our 2nd nite in Portland. Another inexpensive family restaurant with a good selection of food in their menu. Good service, pretty good food for the price, and the pies are a must.

Stopped in for lunch. Ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger, they had a special name for it (??) it was Free Shake day :o) Best milk shake I've had in a Long Time.

For many years our group has visited the Meadows on labor day weekend.. We always eat at Shari's . The staff have always been well trained and join in our fun. The food is great and the dessert menu excellent.

We stopped for dinner while headed North after a day at OMSI. Easy on and off I-5. The Tuscan Chicken Salad and 'Cuban' sandwich were very good. We recommend the coconut cream pie, much better than the Silk pie. We were sorry they only had vanilla ice cream with topping for their banana split. Service was friendly and efficient. We will look for them again.

Excellent diverse menu and delicious reasonably priced pies . All this and excellent customer service. Such a treat !

When we are in the area, I like t stop in and have the Spinach and Cheese Quiche, it may seem like a little thing, though to me it hits the spot...

We went there for a late evening meal. The service was quick and courteous, and the food was good, and to top it off, their pies we took back to our hotel were great. Also being closed to the hotel was very convenient. 5/5 - well worth it.

Shari's has an extensive menu which we loved (and I'm picky, due to my lactose intolerance, which was catered for upon asking), lovely food and atmosphere, and good prices too. The staff remembered us, so we had many long conversations, a very nice place to eat.

clean restaurant and friendly staff. I like that the calories are listed in the menu... makes it easier to make a realistic choice....

We went in planning to simply have a quick supper but gave in to the pie menu. Both the meal and dessert were delicious.

I was hopeful about this place. But I was quickly disappointed. I had a breakfast of scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon and French toast. The toast was the only thing that was even decent. The eggs came out with shredded cheese sitting on top of them. The cheese wasn't even melted. That's tells you the temp of the eggs. The bacon was like leather. I'm not sure if they had premade it and then just heated it back up but it was like jerky. Tough. Again, not hot. Just room temp. Really bad. The toast was ok. Tasted like the toaster French toast you get in the freezer section. Definitely not worth the trip. Go to Elmers up the street.

we went late evening for a dinner. Food was great. staff were even greater. It was much better than we expected. I am a pie freak. was not disappointed. The waiter was very helpful, one of the best we encountered on our trip. Prompt, courteous, knowledgable about city as well as restaurant.

Good food, fast and friendly service and very convenient location plus late night service makes this an ideal location.

We stopped in after getting off a flight at PDX and were headed home. The waitress seated us and it took 5 minutes for us to get asked what we would like. The waitress kept saying that she was training a new waitress. We finally had our order taken 15 minutes later. This should have been a clue to us to leave before we ordered. But, we ordered and the food came out about 10 minutes later. My food was cold to the touch and it was a "Hot" breakfast. So cold that the butter never melted at all on my pancakes. I asked for it be taken back and warmed. The waitress was apologetic. 20 minutes later we went up tot the counter to inquire where my breakfast was and the same waitress told me that there were other orders in front of mine. Seriously! You would think mine would have made right away since it had already been made once. Needless to say, we paid for our drinks and my husband's food and left. We will never be back and I strongly encourage Trip Advisor readers to look elsewhere so that you receive adequate customer service. What a disappointment this meal was to us.

Restaurant is right near the hotel we stayed at. Our meal was very good. The pie is so good. They have alot of different pies to choose from.

This restaurant was right beside our hotel in Portland and we decided to try it as the lot was crowded and the place looked attractive from the outside. We were very pleased with the menu, selections, prices, and service. We were there for dinner and had friends arriving later that night so we went back for coffee while they ate breakfast served all day) The waitress we had both times was very courteous and helpful. Later in the week we went to another Shar's in San Bruno CA outside San Francisco. This time there were six of us and we again received excellent service and the food was great for the price. We highly recommend this chain.

nothing great not awful help could be better and prices are hoigh for the quality of the product and atmosphere. Tolerable

I didn’t knew about the place, being new to Portland. I decided to go there on a break from work being near by. I think they have a well explained menu, with pictures and i was surprised to see that the food looks exactly like in the pictures. I had meat lovers skillet, butter pancakes with syrup, and a lemon meringue delight pie. All that because i eat a lot haha. It was one of the best breakfasts i ever had. Everything was delicious, and in my opinion the prices are ok. Definitely worth it, definitely recommend! Thank you guys for making my morning better, with such a delicious breakfast!

Not going to be a favorite of a Big name chef ,, but consistent. and the Delta Park one is usually a safe bet for a unplanned dinner out.

I routinely rotate between Shari's and another restaurant next to the hotel and love both. The service is always excellent, the food done well and the price is very reasonable. I do love their pies.

Had supper one evening then breakfast the next morning. Both were wonderful. The service was excellent both visits with two different servers. Very friendly atmosphere. Heartily recommend

This was located right near the hotel we were staying at. The food was outstanding. I recommend the northwest steak salad. Very healthy portion and delicious

As noted in other reviews, this was a very dark interior with deep green being the predominant color. It really didn't fit well in our climate which has more gray skies than blue ones every year. The new warm wood interior and very beautiful upscale lighting, complete make over is like a night and day difference. Staff here is very, very good and attentive. The menu has a big selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner items, with breakfast available all the time. The senior menu provides a good selection of items and though the portions are smaller they are not tiny. If you want a menu item done with a bit of different choice they usually accommodate your choice without charging additional. Also if there are coffee drinkers - this is one of the few places you will be given your own mini urn of coffee to serve yourself after draining your first cup.

Open 24 Hours, Friendly Staff, Great Variety of Food, Pies and Malts are a must!! Because there are some slot machines in the back of restaurant - late night locals can be creepy!!

Right next to the hotel, and the food and service was excellent. Large menu and good service made this a great experience. We ate there 3 time in the 4 days we were in Portland.

I needed to find a place to have lunch on my way to pick up a friend from the airport. This place was such a treat. I thought it would be similar to any old diner style chain (ie dennys, perkins, etc.) but it was so much better. I really enjoyed my meal, the service, and their pies...OMG. Definitely try the sour cream lemon pie!!

Went to breakfast here with my daughter on a Saturday morning. Hostess was completely overwhelmed with crowd, though there were several empty tables. Took forever to be seated and get our food. However, our waitress was the exception, as she seemed to be rushing to compensate for her slow co-workers. Food was very good - pancakes with fresh strawberries and spinach omelette. Checkout was also slow and unorganized.

They are everywhere it seems. This chain of restaurants have friendly staff and good food. I would say it is better than Denny's for us Californians.

We weren't familar with this chain of restaurants, but service was friendly, fast, and the food was good. Had a very standard breakfast which was way better than any of the standard free hotel buffets and the wait staff kept the coffee coming.

Went to Shari's for pie and coffee after a wedding, the pies are baked right there in the restaurant, the young lady that served us was coming back early the next morning to bake them. I was disappointed at two things, no pecan pie, the waitress said they had not had them in over a week, and they used non dairy whip topping on my cherry pie.

Sometimes before the bridge, you just feel like getting some fuel in you. Hiding in Heydon Meadows is the place to be.

Pies a la mode hit the spot. Service was good. The restaurant recently had some renovations done. The menu is the same, but with a new and fresher look.

My wife and I were staying at a nearby hotel and were hungry after a long flight and drive from the airport. We were immedicalty seated and served by a very friendly and helpful waitress. The food was very good and the service was excellent. They specialize in pies, expecially Marionberry, but we declined as our dinner was quite sufficient. We would go back, and as a matter-of-fact, I returned the next day for lunch while my wife was in a meeting.

For $9-a delicious lunch with multiple choices Pick 1/2 of a delicious sandwich,a salad or soup and a piece of pie My blt was delicious due to the great bacon -as was my loaded baked potato soup-a premium soup so an extra $1 The multi berry pie was terrific as were my dining companion's picks also

In town for business and in a rush but needing my sugar rush, I stopped in Shari's and grabbed a piece of pie to go. Well, I wanted one piece but I left with three just so I could try all the different varieties. Totally delicious! I am from Boston but look forward to returning on my next business trip.

This place is confusingly smelly it's the video poker area mostly. Bums bums and more bums, they need to set a dress code,, or atleast a smell code.
It surprised me
The food and service was good…. 50% discount on bottles of wine on Friday night. The pies were a treat!!
