Oh so GOOD!

By Dave R |

First visited this bistro this past Tuesday with my daughter for lunch. Located in a small strip mall this bistro appears unassuming when you first enter. We walked in through their gourmet market entrance which carries a wide selection of Mediterranean grocery items (baked goods, teas, oils, spices, candies and more). I had tasted Persian cuisine in the past but I was truly impressed with the selection of items on the menu. The meal is started with a basket of fresh baked pita bread served with a homemade cucumber yogurt dip. The cucumber appears to be shredded rather than cubed as is often done in other places. This simple difference greatly enhances the consistancy of the yogurt making it easier to pick up small amounts with your pita. Since my daughter had no prior experience with this cuisine I suggested that she try one of my favorite appetizers, Kibbe (spicy ground beef in a crispy cracked wheat shell). She loved it! We both had the Beef Kebab lunch special which for $9.95 is an awesome deal. The meal comes with a wonderfully light and tasty Basmati rice beautifully presented with a stripe of Saffron rice, it also comes with a grilled tomato. For dessert we shared the Baklava platter which is two pieces of Pistachio Baklava and Turkish coffee which was served with a small cube of Turkish delight candy. We didn't know what Turkish delight was and our waiter described as gummy candy coated in powdered sugar. I was so impressed with this meal that I returned with my wife the following Sunday to share this wonderful dining experience with her. This time we started with Eggplant dip which is marinated eggplant in a special sauce, mint , and walnuts. Wow!! For the main course she selected Fesenjon which is a chicken stew with chopped fried walnuts and a delicious pomegranate sauce which made this meal truly special. This time our waiter (Raheem) offered to read the coffee grounds of our Turkish coffee. You know what? He nailed by wife's recent past, a good laugh was had by all. Great way to end a perfect evening! If there are negatives to this bistro it's that parking is very limited (we parked across the street), and finding the place is difficult to find, but I assure you that its worth searching for it.

DELICIOUS TURKISH AND PERSIAN FOOD

Ideal for a family lunch and dinner. Great variety of food served by sincere people. The tastes you miss all under one roof. Enjoy...

A special treat

By Robert L |

I found it quite particular to be greeted in a restaurant by a gentleman wearing shorts and a t-shirt. Not quite a t-shirt since it did not have sleeves. Actually the man was in his underwear and quite unshaven and unkempt. Seemed to be a very nice gentleman. Service left a lot to be desired but there was a buffet and both my wife and my stepdaughter seemed quite pleased with it. It was Iranian food and they were quite happy about both the freshness of the food and its quality. I ordered qui a simple meal, some humous which I found watery and not very tasty and some rice and chicken. The rice it self was good but dry as there was no sauce of any sort served with it. The chicken was excellent and was well marinated and cooked on a grill or so I imagine. For desert I had naklava and it was excellent. Not to die for but good. It was not expensive either. So if you have little money and want some simple home cooked meal, you could go there.

Quick bite...

By Jacques R |

This place is half a mini market and the other half a restaurant.... They do not have much personnel so be patient! Food was ok, ordered some spicy sausage that missed spice... Then I had the kebabs (chicken and beef) these were above average... The white rice, I missed the Persian touch... A little over priced but good quantity... The place is clean and service could improve a notch!!! Enjoy

Amazing! Can't Wait to Return!!

This is an absolute gem of a restaurant and market. We felt as though we we re at someone's home eating their home-cooking. The owner and the staff regularly checked in with us and made sure that we enjoyed every moment we were there - and yet they didn't hover either. When we left, we'd made new friends. And the food is absolutely excellent! The meats were tasty and juicy. Everything was well-seasoned too. I cannot say more than that this place is essentially ideal!! Parking is limited. But, additional spots are available across the street.

Just awesome!!!

Everything here is good and it’s hands down, the best Mediterranean in Miami. The Kabobs are perfect. It’s a must.

Delicious courteous service.

Delicious courteous service. The chicken joojeh kabob was delectable and reasonable priced. As was the appetizer, and hummus. Would definitely recommend as having healthy delicious selections.

Mothers Day Dinner

By bapmiami |

So glad we went and we will be going back, frequently. My wife and I tried the kabab's, Sarah the chicken and I the Shiraz Special. The Shiraz Special were all the kabab's, the chicken, beef and the tenderloin. Very flavorful and we both had the Greek salads instead of the rice as we both are on a low carb diet for a while. A quant neighbor hood, family owned and operated restaurant with friendly staff. Our server was Diany and we got to meet one of the owners Metmeh. Metmeh gave my wife a red rose for Mother's Day. Try this one, I don't think you'll regret it.

Terrific Mediterranean Delicacies

By HND30 |

We had the pleasure of enjoying this fine restaurant that was an unbelievable experience. We started with the combination appetizer plater which was a perfect way to start the tasting festivities! There is walnut chicken salad, hummus, spicy Turkish sausage and WONDERFUL grape leaves with home made pita bread perfectly crisp. We then got 2 types of pide, which is a Turkish flatbread pizza which was very creative. The owner suggested this new item and well worth tasting. I understand not all restaurants serve this. The next course was the special kebab platter with filet mignon, chicken, lamb and vegetables which was exquisite. The salad was fresh and flavorful and not over dressed. The lamb chops were perfectly cooked and seasoned well. The finish line consisted of 2 desserts-Katmer, which was a sweet phyllo crust with pistachio filling and Kunefe that is shredded phyllo with cheese filling in a sweet syrup served hot. This place is not to be missed. The server was attentive to the fact that each dish came out perfectly timed. She changed our plates often and made sure we were well taken care of. This place is located in a small strip center with easy parking. This restaurant should be on everyone’s list.

Awsome local place

This restaurant is located in the corner of our house. The food is awsome and the owners are always here and extraordinarily friendly. I sometimes just drop in for coffee and bahklava. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Authentic Persian Food!

By Delatorrellc |

This is definitely a locals restaurant that serves authentic Persian cusine. This is the type of hole in the wall family restaurant you'd fine on some tucked away street in the Middle East. You may find yourself dining next to the owner and his family. The atmosphere is very casual and friendly and the food is fresh and tasty. A nice change if you're a Mediterranean food fan. Similar but with subtle changes in spices and flavors..

Just wonderful!!

Again here after few months and we’re talking consistency here. Still the best kabobs, lamb and other typical Turkish dishes. It’s hands down the best Mediterranean restaurant in Miami. Service is perfect and priced very reasonably. It’s a must.

What a Gem!

By Mayte530 |

Tucked away next to a church in a small mall is a gem of Persian and Turkish food. Excellent service and the quality of the food was exceptional. I did not have much experience eating this type of food and was not disappointed. Recommend any of the meats, they are prepared differently than anything I have ever had but were so tender and juicy. Would recommend highly to anyone that wants to have a night out and have good food. Very well priced.

Good choice

By agrunwaldt |

Is a small ethnic restaurant for people that like Mediterranean food, a little different from typical Lebanese food but really good and authentic.

With a little Shiraz, it might be better

By aliceann1 |

Several reviews mention "home cooked meals" and that might be the key point of this restaurant. The dishes aren't gourmet, but you will get a salad well-cooked plate brought to the table. Standard Mediterranean fare was fine--hummus, eggplant, falafel, pita. However, the other plates were just average. Salmon was overcooked, chicken kabobs were dry and the meals were accompanied by a large amount of plain rice with a broiled tomato half. Nothing special. On a positive note, the little supermarket in the restaurant has a wide variety of items and there are several pre-packaged baked goods available for purchase. Also, the service was very good (perhaps because it wasn't very crowded) For a basic meal when you're not in the mood to cook, Shiraz is fine. But, don't go expecting to be swept away to a foreign shore.

A Mediterranean Delight

By ckmaxxx |

In a dynamic city like Miami it is difficult to find a good restaurant that consistently excels based on high quality food, friendly service and, just as importantly, reasonable prices- but Shiraz Bistro & Market has done just that since the new management took over last summer. The new owner Ilhan has built on a solid reputation of serving great food at great prices, and improved on it by adding new Mediterranean delicacies and a wide variety of traditional appetizers. My favorite was definitely the collection of savory meat platters and Döner-gyros on weekends. The décor was also recently revamped and the adjacent market offers a wide range of regional delights from teas and exotic cooking ingredients to traditional glassware and exquisite deserts. Good luck to you Shiraz, and thank you for making our dining experience a delicious feast to be repeated soon! Locals be warned: this isn’t a trendy restaurant that will go out of fashion by tomorrow. Shiraz has introduced a cozy little eatery only minutes from Dadeland that will persevere and will surely become a “ Miami must” for lovers of scrumptious Mediterranean delicacies for many years to come.

JUST AWESOME

By Paul Ryan |

I found this place by accident and I'm very glad I did. It's the best Persian food I've had in Miami so far. All the Kebabs are awesome specially Kofte.

Delicious food, clean and friendly atmosphere

By MateoExplorador |

This is really a hidden gem of a restaurant. The Mediterranean dishes are really fantastic - hummus, grape leaves, falafel, salads, kabobs, bread. Shiraz represents a taste of the Mediterranean and Middle East. The atmosphere is really pleasant, the service very friendly, and the prices are reasonable. Shiraz is a real winner. Enjoy!

Thanks to my wife

She wanted to take me to this amazing Mediterranean neighborhood restaurant. Finally we had dinner last Saturday at Shiraz Bistro & Market DELICIOUS and very personalized service. We had the filet mignon with basmati rice and and order of grilled vegetables AMAZING. I don’t remember the name of the desert they offered for us to try free of charge, it was so good that it reminded the nougat or Turrón we eat during the holidays.

Delightful Evening!

By Mercy |

This was our first time to Shiraz Bistro and Market. We started our experience with the combination platter as an appetizer. It included the chicken salad, stuffed grape leaves, hummus, and turkey sausage. As a main dish and to try as many dishes as possible, we shared another combination platter containing three kebabs with a side order of basmati rice. The meat was tender and juicy. For dessert, we had Turkish coffee and Baklava. Everything we tried was delicious and perfectly prepared and seasoned. The best part of our experience was the service where Marisol treated us like family. On our way out, we stopped by their market, where we purchased several authentic Turkish items. I wish I would’ve taken. pictures of all the dishes we ordered. However, we had such a good time we forgot about our phones. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The best in middle eastern cuisine!

A family favorite. The food is authentic and always fresh and cooked to order. A relaxed atmosphere, family owned and operated. Friendly staff. You will never feel rushed. Food is A+!!

Good for the Moment

By citizen0103 |

We had the hummus, lentil soup, lamb chops, filet mignon & lamb kabob. The lamb chops were tender and so was the filet mignon. All were okay. The service was slow. Everything is okay including the space. I just thought it was okay.

Just perfect

By Paul Ryan |

A Miami jewel. Everything is perfect. From the humus, the kebabs and everything else. There a kebab which is a mix of lamb and beef, which is the best I've ever had.

Fantastic Mediterranean Food

By Pablo O |

I have found this little gem of a restaurant and need to share. Have eaten here several times and like it more each time. The lamb chops are incredible. The filet mignon is also wonderful. And the Greek salad is absolutely perfect.

Great food...

This place is now under new management and it is even better than it was before!!! Great food, great service. We love the starters, kebabs and all the different meats they have on their menu. Ideal for special events as well. Enjoy :)!!!

Tasty and reasonable

Food is good though not particularly distinguishing. Service is friendly. Huge tables are well-suited to large groups.

Just awesome.

I come here all the time for years now. Everything is good. It’s the only place I eat lamb. The kabobs are impeccable. Really worthy.

Little gem in Miami

By mkoi56 |

Tried this cafe on advice of a local. Great find tucked away in a tiny strip mall. Parking a bit problematic but food is definitely worth it. If you have a yen to try something beyond the usual Miami fare give this a shot. Had the fesenjon and really enjoyed. I'm not usually a Pomegranate fan but this changed my mind. The kababs were moist and the rice was perfect. Very attentive and helpful staff. Great way to try Persian cuisine. This family will make you feel at home

Best Grape Leaves Ever!

By lcsims |

New Owners - now called Shiraz Bistro and Market

By tcata404 |

Great little restaurant is under new management. They have remodeled the restaurant, adding a market and are updating their menu as well. The food was excellent. The kids loved their steak kabob. My husband had lamb stew and is still talking about how great it was. Great find. Will be going back soon.

Fabulous hidden gem

We LOVED this hidden gem. Benn many times for lunch & dinner. Food unbelievably frsh & delicious and the service is the BEST ever

Terrible Food

By john123217 |

When to Shiraz restaurant few days ago with two other American friends. Walked in around lunch time and there were no customers. That should have been the first clue, but I felt that I should not judge a book by its cover. Sat down and ordered kashke bademjan and noon panir sabzi as appetizers. Kashke bademjan came out first with labneh yogurt instead of Kashke. I complained and got a side of Kashke. The bademjan were soaked in oil and chunk of semi uncooked garlic were mixed with bademjan. That was awful! Then got noon panir sabzi but instead of sabzi, I got cheese, cucumber, tomato, walnuts and onions separated in a plate. This was a first time I saw such a thing, but again I crossed my fingers. The tomatoes were cut in chunks without out any presentation, and the red onions were dry as if it was cut hours ago and was left exposed to air! Then we got our entrees. I had chicken and koobideh. The chicken was alright, but koobideh was AWFUL! It had a thin plastic texture and a funny taste to it. If I did not know better, I would say that the meat was either left outside for a while, or baking powder was added to keep the meat on the skewer. It was so bad that one of my American friends who is unfamiliar with Persian food told me that the koobideh tastes funny. The tomatoes that came with the entree were one fourth of a tomato, and because it was cut into four pieces, all the juice was gone. We did not finish our meals, paid $90 for two entrees and three meals with water and left. I understand that Miami is not a Persian city, but the food was terrible and expensive. Will never go back there. Thx

SIMPLY THE BEST

By Paul Ryan |

Shiraz is hands down the best Mediterranean restaurant in Miami. It’s a must. It’s located in a small strip mall but parking is easy. Here is the only place I can eat lamb (I don’t like lamb), and everything else is perfect. Even the wine choices.

good food from Iran

By Chingolo |

me and my family had a very nice dinner in this restaurant, the chairs and table were very comfortable, the food was home made, the vegetable soup was one of the best i ever tried, with beans, pasta, cilantro, taste much better than a minestrone soup. the basmati rice that comes with the dishes is the best, we had a very good dinner and we will back for the Sunday all you can eat lunch from 1 to 5 pm, for 12 dollars with different kinds of kebabs and vegetables from the country of Iran, which is very difficult to find food from this place, they have a big plasma tv if you want to see sports news etc, nice ceiling fan and air conditioning, the owners are very nice and make you feel home and also they have a very sweet indian girl waitress that treat you with respect . also they have sweats and baklavas, spices from the area to buy in the little next door shop. thanks again and congratulations for the owner for the nice place.

Hidden gem, we love it. Simple and good.

We live just down the street and we order take out from here whenever I don't feel like making dinner. The lentil soup rocks. I usually have #18 which is the grilled chicken it's my favorite. This is a very small family run restaurant that's been there for years. Everything tastes homemade. Highly recommend.

Very Fresh Healthy Food

By BGoudieSOMI |

I have only ordered through Uber Eats so I can't say anything about the service or ambiance. What I can say is that the food is healthy, always fresh, and delicious. The chicken kabobs with basmati rice are amazing. Order the chicken salad - it is the BEST! Consistently GREAT FOOD!
