We love Middle Eastern Food, so stopping at this new place was a no-brainer. It was mid-afternoon, sort of between lunch and dinner, so we were surprised at how busy the parking lot way. All the folks must have been next door at the Irish pub, because the patronage was sparse inside Shiraz. We were greeted pleasantly and seated immediately. The decor and furnishings are very nice. The wait staff was also very nice. We were a little disappointed with the menu. It seemed limited. For instance, my favorite thing at Middle Eastern restaurants is a veggie and/or salad plate. Nada. When we got the food it was very good, though. Very generous servings, beautifully presented. Hubby had a beef dish with saffron rice. I had a delicious eggplant parmesan from their Italian selections. Then a big group arrived. I'm not sure why, but this sent the place into a tail spin. There was plenty of space for them and plenty of help, since there were only a few other tables with diners. Even so, as soon as the big group was seated, we were forgotten. I saw our waitress help deliver water to the big group. I saw her pick up one check and deliver another, but I couldn't get her attention. Then she disappeared into the kitchen and never returned. We waited and waited and waited. Finally, I went and found the hostess. She found a gentlemen that seemed to be the manager and he brought us our bill. Our waitress never appeared. So great food, nice decor but with all the amazing options for Middle Eastern food there is in Dallas, we probably won't go back.

Beware, they are notorious for overcharging at this restaurant. All three visits I’ve eaten there I have been overcharged on my bill!! Third times the charm, never going back. After telling some friends they all knew how this restaurant is. Now I know.

Great as always. Try the sampler appetizer and one of their specialities. Could have better desserts.

We visited on a Saturday night a little late and the place was still mostly full. Most of the patrons appeared to be Middle Eastern - a good sign that the food would be authentic. The selections included several Persian-influenced dishes that I have not seen in other Mediterranean restaurants in the Dallas area. We tried some drinks from their specialty menu and they were very good (not too sweet), try the cosmopolitan. Our server was extremely helpful. She offered advice on our selections and then on how to best combine the dishes. For appetizer we split a Shirazi Salad (diced cucumbers, tomatoes with lemon dressing) and the Mast O'Khiar (Yogurt with Cucumber) we ate this with fresh herbs, feta and Pita bread, very tasty for 3 of us. Our entrees were excellent, Gormeh Sabzi Stew (Beef with dried limes and fava beans), Beef and Chicken Kabobs (replacing the chicken kabob with Spicy chicken kabob !), and Lamb Shank. Desserts were a baklava (3 pieces) and Persian ice cream with fallodeh (rice noodles). The ice cream was a vanilla ice cream with a floral add-in.

Huge place Great and fast service Amazing Persian kabab and rice Great eggplant Good humus Will come again

Ordered takeout one order of lamb kebab a Greek salad hummus and another salad pretty pricey $25 for a lamb kebab? Little too much, food was just OK nothing special but really pricey for what you get you can take it or leave it either way.

Terrific meal in Dallas area! Kebabs, ground beef, chicken & steak were all delicious. The chopped Shiraz salad and Cesar salads were perfect. Typical super long grain, perfectly cooked rice. Would like to return to try their stews.

Nice decor; good food, good service. Went for dinner; were seated immediately as the place was not very busy. Service was attentive and good.

The restaurant is conveniently located @ a busy intersection in far north Dallas. It has great staff & superb food. Make sure you try all the different type of kabobs they have. The only problem is the price. It can easily cost you over $80 for two to dine there without alcohol.

The ambiance, service and food is simply amazing. The appetizers with the warm bread, cheese, mint, cilantro and onions offer a unique blend of flavors. The kabobs were marinated in different spices and cooked to perfection to accompany the rice. The service was attentive and follow-up routine. Overall a wonderful experience and will plan on returning, especially with family events.

The food is by far the best Persian food in town. The service is just as good and the price is not bad for the quality of the food and service. This was our third visit and all three were absolutely fantastic.

My first time here. Looked at the reviews prior to going, mostly good. Loved the food, service and environment. Clean, inviting. Great food and service. The prices a little more than average for same type of foods, however worth the experience.

Wonderful Soltani and delicious persian food. The Kabobs are delicious and the serving size is nice and large. The place has only been open for a short time and it is packed. They also have an Italian menu. Negatives are: small tables, parking is difficult not the weekends.

I normally go to the local Persian restaurants with buffet to get a good variety of food, but when I want to take someone for a more upscale experience, we go to Shiraz. The quality of the food is excellent and the service is great. My favorite is Kabob Kubedeh or Chicken kabob for the main dish and order Tadig with 3 khoresh (stews) for appetizer. The also have a good wine list with reasonable prices.

The best and delicious Persian food in Dallas. they serve before order complementary dish of Herbs and cheese with hot Pita bread in nice and friendly Atmospher

Oh my god the food was so so delicious the Kebob cooked to perfection both Kobideh and Barg. The price however is atrocious . Whats going on? the owner son wants a new BMW? The bill was like a car payment. You could literally buy 10 pounds of good meat for that price. They should put a warning sign at front door. Kabob for the price of Gold. Contribute to BMW fund.

We wanted to try new flavors, and we were very pleased with the food we tried at Shiraz!!! The service was very good and the food was very tasty!!! I recommend trying the Persian Ice Cream!!! Delicious!!!

Lovely restaurant, with inside and outside dining. The food is very freshly prepared. The Kabob and rice was simply delicious and large portions!

OUTRAGEOUSLY EXPENSIVE. Shiraz is a kebab place, not a premiere steakhouse! Lunch and dinner portions are the same, but the price for dinner is ridiculously high. The food quality is moderate, not worth the price! For ordinary people, It is hard to digest the overpriced menu unless there is free money to pay for the dinner.

I've only had a kabobs a few times before coming to Shiraz. I came with a friend who recommended the meal and I was in awe with how great the food was. The staff was also attentive and nice. The next time I'm in the area I will definitely stop by for a meal.

If you want to rate an Iranian restaurant's food you should start with their Koobideh (ground beef) kabob. Other dishes most definitely follow the same quality. What we experienced was a beautifully shaped koobideh (as all the Iranian restaurants try to impress you with it) that was dry and had no taste of beef. It was most definitely 30 percent beef and 70 percent bread, baking soda (to hold so called ingredients together on the skewer while cooking) and other things. We also had chicken kabob which was salty rather than lemony trying to give wanted to give it more flavor. I should mention that the rice was good but the rice coloring was not saffron since it had no smell of saffron. Thankfully other kabobs were a lot more expensive than the high priced koobideh and chicken kabobs and we could not offered them and therefore are spared from giving them bad ratings too.

Price rose too high and level of service dropped, Price was even higher than Persian Resturant in New York City With same quality, they discontinued bring bread and herb for starter and they put it in menu for charge. It was unbelievable. My son used to be in Dallas and when we went there we normally go yo this Resturant and when we went to vacation Father’s weekend we went there I think for last time and see these changes, Not only price was too much high but service was bad too, all servers standing and talking with each other’s. Dallas has more Persian Resturant which price is less than half we will try those Resturant next time

Wife's first time with Persian food and she was satisfied with her chicken kabobs. I had lamb kabobs and the meat was very tender and flavorful. We had the hummus for starters and it was good. Tabouleh was very fresh and delicious. Cocktails were also delicious. Finished it off with some baklava which we have never had, so not sure if it's supposed be that sweet or not.

Ate dinner here with 2 business friends. Lamb, salmon and pomegranate walnut stew. Lamb came with dill herb rice, very flavorful, fresh. Pomegranate stew tangy and rich. Delicate thin pita was served first, with a plate of fresh herbs and cheese. Herbs were very fresh, bright. Pita warm and chewy. They do serve wine! We were very glad to find Shiraz!

Came here for lunch with a co-worker and highly doubt I'll be back. The restaurant was completely empty when we walked in...and it was lunchtime on a Friday. The staff was nice, but there was no lunch menu and items ranged from $13-$20...which is fine for dinner but pricey for lunch. Additionally, when asked for a simple substitution...it wasn't feasible. The food was just ok, I didn't get as much flavor was I expect from middle eastern. It was also covered in butter...which just took over. The portion size was huge, so there was plenty of food. They also have Italian, which doesn't make sense to me. Not enough flavor, too pricey, too much butter. But it wasn't "bad" hence the average rating.

Great Persian restaurant, and authentic according to my Persian friend. Everything we had was very tasty and carefully prepared, from the eggplant appetizer to the Soltana Kabob and lamb shank. Dessert was also very good. On top of this the service was very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.

For those who like Persian food, Shiraz is the right place to frequent. Reasonably priced and authentic dishes not only attract local Iranians but people of all walks of life. The service is friendly and attentive and the owner keeps an eagle eye on affairs, ergo quality is and remains high. The served portions are homongous and we typically share a main dish normally preceded with some tasty appetizers.

Know of the owner for quite a few years. This new large restaurant offers very neat accommodation, great service and freshly prepared Kebabs. The marinated high quality meats of freshly prepared dishes makes it a very desirable restaurant. Freshly prepared pita bread and the yogurt drink hits the spot. A little pricey but well worth it.

I liked the food there, but the service was average... I told the sever to get me cocktail drink he got me the wrong one.. we also told him to get all of Duug yogurt drink with dinner.. he brought it in the beginning.. which the ice melted in it and made taste wired... I will give the place a 2nd chance for now as I think the server did not have good understanding of the menu/protocol ..

The koobideh kabob is wonderfully seasoned ground beef and cooked to perfection. I also enjoyed the light citrus flavor on the chicken kabobs. The spaghetti with meatballs was also very good. I can't wait to return for another delicious meal!

Wonderful ambience and friendly, attentive service made this a great birthday celebration! Good food and perfectly cooked rice. Good variety of offerings .

There were four of us who went for dinner on Saturday evening. The store front looks small but once inside it is large. There is an adjacent outdoor patio where there were several dining. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. I had the lamb shank accompanied by a huge platter of mixed rice a fave beans. My wife had the salmon kebab accompanied by a combo of rice and grilled vegetables. The other couple had the spice chicken with rice and the salmon kebab. The presentations were very nice, the portions were big and the food was hot. We sat and talked without feeling rushed. A nice meal with good friends.

Took the picture too late but the pomegranate stew was mind blowing with just the right amount of sour taste to add a unique kick flavor to the stew. It comes with a side of rice and extremely tender chicken pieces. A must try.

We just LOVE this spot. We accidentally ended up here thinking we were en route to Shahrzad Market (another great spot for food & grocery). Great mistake to have made, we love it.

Way overpriced and we won’t go back even though it used to be our favorite restaurant. 27$ for 2 skewers of koobideh and rice. The herbs that used to come with meal are now priced separately. The pita bread is only 2 small pieces and you have to keep asking for refill if you order an appetizer such as kashke bademjun. Very sad and I hope they adjust their prices to where they used to be. Some of the best Persian Restaurants in Houston still only charge 12.95 for koobideh, rice, herbs and large pieces of fresh baked pita bread.

A recent and what was supposed to be a dull trip to Dallas became an event with the discovery of this gem of a restaurant. The food was excellent- my love affair with Kask-e-Badamjan became reinvigorated. The Kobdeh was excellent. Pilaf well prepared. Nans could be improved. The chair I was sitting on was not strong enough to hold my bulk but mishaps not withstanding this the best place to visit for a proper and delectable Persian cuisine. There were only two reasons why I ever wanted to go to Iran was finding the best kask-e-badamjan and visiting naqash e-Rustum. I guess now only one reason remains to visit Iran.

We were a large group, so we ordered a variety of foods off the menu to sample. It was all wonderful. The Eggplant appetizer, salad, herb stew and kabobs.

The most authentic & delicious Persian food in town! The Barg beef kabab, chicken kabab, rice topped with pistachio and little berries, Fasenjan (chicken in pomegranate/walnut) sauce were simply AMAZING. With a great and warm ambiance, an excellent service, incredible management and live Jazz/music in the background, the experience is incredible and memorable

we were dinning on saturday and i remember when they start the quality of food was good but now looks like drop the ball and do not care any more the kabob was too salty and you could chewing onion inside the kabob if you sell kobideh for $26 at least have some quality having high price will not make you good restaurant.

Very disappointing!! This place used to be my favorite restaurant until now!! They raised the price 40% at lunch time only because of Christmas Eve. Same food, same amount but cost 40% more than any other day. This is rip off and not a fair business. Never go there again!

We were invited to Shiraz Mediterranean Restaurant by our Persian friend. We had eaten Persian food in other cities and my husband spent a month living in Iran while in college. The food was amazing. The flavors and tastes were wonderful. The service was perfect and the amount of food served was more than we could eat. Our favorite, of course, is lamb. If lamb is not your forte, chicken and beef are also served. Many people have not had good lamb cooked as it should be with all the right spices. You might change your mind after trying some here. We will most definitely return again and again.

Outstanding food & service. Great place to visit with friends. Even though the restaurant was busy, it was easy to carry on a conversation because the tables were space far enough to keep the noise level down
Best Persia food in North Texas
By far the best Persian food in North Texas.... they use high quality food and have tons of options. They don’t offer buffet and their prices are for sure higher than other Persian restaurants in the area but for sure it’s worth the extra money.
