The portions are small, the prices are a little high, but it's worth it for the quality of the food. While the place is small.

This is definitely our new favorite sushi restaurant. The food is incredibly fresh with a beautiful presentation. Located off Broadway and close enough to downtown if you are visiting and staying down there to make the trip. I would imagine in the evening that’s reservations would be recommended. The restaurants ambiance was very sleek and full of light and cozy with really comfortable chairs. They do have outdoor seating as well. Service was impeccable. The menu selections weren’t overwhelming and our waiter, Victor, was super helpful at making recommendations. The sushi melted in our mouths. They have a beautiful wine selection although this time we tried a Japanese pale ale that we really enjoyed. Seriously go try it!

Wife and I love Asian food and spend time in Seattle where it's fantastic. We don't usually do Japanese, particularly in San Antonio. Another couple got us to give Shiro a try and .... WOW!!! Our best San Antonio Asian restaurant experience Extraordinary beef, fish and sushi along with great service. We had a nice table outside in the shade with view of the river. Only negative was the parking is a pain and costly.

We ate outside on the patio and with the fans it was quite comfortable. The patio overlooks the river walk. We had a couple special rolls one of which was the Smoking Bomb. They were super tasty. Also had a cucumber and seaweed salad with shrimp. Also very good. Service was great. Had a Japanese beer. Pretty extensive saki menu.

Shiro was next level.. VERY good and worth the price point. I spend about 75 nights a year in San Antonio and will definitely be back.

Sushi and service that will rival anywhere else in the world. We went deep on their fish menu, and everything was fresh. Garlic edamame was a knockout, as was the wagyu tataki. There is an extensive sake and Japanese beer menu to boot. The price point is better than expected for the quality of the fish, the service, and everything else. The atmosphere is of a high quality without being stuffy or pretentious.

Knockout! Didn't expect to find outstanding sushi in SA but this place was fabulous - fish was incredibly fresh and tasty as well as creatively prepared. Loved the salmon and yellow tail collar. Great service. Prices were reasonable. Would highly recommend.

The wonderful sushi was served soaked in soy sauce. The waiter was amazing and apologetic. You could not differentiate each fish due to the sushi chef’s over vinegar rice. Soy sauce vs Tamari is not gluten free. We had to order my wife’s food again. I have never, ever seen soaked sushi (by the way, amazing fish soaked in soy sauce and over vinegar in rice) served without any warning of the end product. My suggestion is the wonderful sushi chef take a break and leave your wonderful fresh fish alone.
Great Food, nice Staff!
We came in with no reservation and we were lucky! Food was great, Nigiris were delicious and the staff was kind and helpful. I definitely recommend it!
