Great oysters

By F Thomas C |

Large party (8) arriving later in the evening (8:30). Good and prompt service. Highly recommend for casual dining

Breakfast buffet

By cocogirl12 |

Nice buffet consisted of pastries, yogurts, fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes and waffles.

Consistently, Excellent!

By Merril Y |

2-3 times per year for the past 4 years have always brought us back to Shuckers for a wonderful meal. This time was no different - simply, wonderful. Dozen fresh oyster selection and Clam Chowder to start, then their special of the day of perfectly grilled scallops over a bed of pasta with cheese spread on toast. A Bloody Mary and a pint made for a complementary touch. Great food, rustic ambience and warm, knowlegeable service.

Amazing

By Corey N |

Such a great bar and really chill bartenders. Amanda was our bartender and she did great. 10/10 recommend this place!

Great old school hotel bar

By Daca L |

Great old school hotel bar with good wine and great service. The patrons are friendly, bartenders are knowledgeable and talkative, and the overall vibe is casual. I stayed at the Fairmont and this was a good hangout at the end of a long day.

Great happy hour

By Val J |

We stopped by Shuckers for happy hour. $5.00 wines and $2.00 oysters. I had the house white wine which was a Sav Blanc and a mixture of 3 different oyster types to try (2 of each). Both the wine and oysters were great.

Best Birthday Ever!

By Peebs1 |

My husband and I are currently in Seattle celebrating our first born’s 40th. We shared with him our favourite Seattle hotel, The Fairmont Olympic , and one of our very favourite restaurants, Shuckers. This time I presented a particular culinary challenge- requesting a vegan dinner. I have recently had a distasteful experience as a vegan- being viewed as nothing short of a pariah by the chef of a very popular dining establishment in Alberta, Canada. Not so at Shuckers, where the specialties are (as the name would imply), centred around oysters with specialized beef and fresh fish. My dinner (roasted Brussels sprouts, wild mushrooms and quinoa was a celebration of tastes, served and presented beautifully, without the turn of a hair. Our son revelled in his Wagyu beef, cooked to perfection, and my husband was very pleased with his halibut and potato wedges with a side of tasty coleslaw. I had secretly ordered an entire old fashioned Birthday chocolate cake from the hotel and the Fairmont did not disappoint- the cake was a visual delight and most appreciated surprise for our son. We will be back yet again, both to the Fairmont Olympic and to their hotel restaurant, Shuckers, because of their excellent food and service with a lovely attention to detail.

Excellent seafood in Seattle

By wasangelez |

Excellent seafood in Seattle with great service. The breading on the popcorn shrimp and calamari appetizers was light and crunchy. The Olympic Oysters were delicious. I had the Halibut, which paired well with the roasted corn and tomatoes. The scallops and fresh pea risotto was also incredible. The blueberry and blackberry pie, which they might be famous for, was yummy also, especially with the sour cream ice cream. Would highly recommend!

Seattle Classic for Seafood!

By edmonton2001 |

This place is a go to place for seafood in Seattle! All the menu items are delicious and time tested. Please bring back the classic Shuckers chocolate cake! That was the only missing item from our last visit.

Classic setting and excellent seafood

By sensualmonkey |

Classic setting and deco, the restaurant located inside the Fairmont hotel. Want to try some fresh oysters, the waiter suggest three different types so i can compare. We order clam chowder, pretty tasty. The best is grill trout, with nuts and spice on top mixed tender with crispy touch, delicious. Service is attentive.

Excellent food, great service

By EscapeRoomJunky |

We went for dinner with a family of four with two teen boys on a Monday night. The place wasn't very crowded, maybe a little over half full. We started with warm sour dough buns - excellent. Then we had a few oysters on the half shell. We didn't know that much about the many oyster options so our waiter picked two for the 3 of us eating oysters. Then we had fried calamari, and some had the chowder. The red chowder was spicy, and the white chowder was creamy. Then there was a halibut special that was great, and the rainbow trout that was a full fish - two meals - i should have shared. The scallops were just 3 large scallops - not enough for the teen boy that ordered them, and then he helped with the fish. The side of Brussel sprouts was excellent, but a lot of food overall. We had an excellent time.

Oysters and Clam Chowder!

By Barbara K |

hadn't been here in years, til last year my daughter took me for a birthday lunch, and I remembered my Dad took me there for my birthday a few times in the early 90s. We continued the tradition this year, with my 3 1/2 yr old granddaughter. What a lovely experience! I always love the oysters! This time I also had a bowl of Clam chowder, and it was the best I've had, especially on the West coast. Full of flavorful clams, perfect consistency, and balanced flavor. The only thing was that it was huge! I had to take some home - what a problem! My daughter had the steamed clams, and they were excellent also, and a large portion. Our waiter thoughtfully brought my granddaughter's lunch first, so we could relax with our glasses of wine. He also brought some warm brownie-type things for dessert, which were yummy! Now I'm craving that chowder...

Great Experience

By Tiffany A |

We were walk ins on a Friday night and there was not wait but they were pretty full. Our food and drinks were delicious and our waiter was funny and attentive. He made great menu suggestions too!

Enjoy happy hour!

By appleapm |

This restaurant had high reviews and there was a tip about happy hour. So glad we found it! Oysters are half price during happy hour (raw only). The staff was knowledgeable about the different oysters being offered. We tried several kinds and were happy with them all. We also tried the cooked oysters and those were pretty good as well as the fried fish and chips dinner we split. With all that, we were satisfied with our dinner that night. They also had some nice cocktails too. Enjoy!

Great food and service

By Egbert S |

great as always! Covid-19 safety protocol including proof of vaccination in place; super friendly and great service. Welcoming atmosphere

Great restaurant/bar in a vintage hotel!

By D. Brian Mann |

This restaurant is inside the Fairmont Olympic Hotel and dates back to the 1920's. Lots of dark, carved wood with lots of character. We're not much for oysters, but there were enough other items for a great meal. For us, that meant salmon and scallops, both perfectly prepared. Very highly recommended, but be prepared for a bit of sticker shock. Still well worth a visit.

The best halibut, superb ice cream drinks, awesome bartender!

By aquavit13 |

It has been 3 years since my late husband and I stayed at The Fairmont Olympia. Sadly we never enjoyed Shuckers during our stay. On my most recent trip (Aug 23-25), my brother, his wife and I had the pleasure of enjoying drinks and dinner at Shuckers, twice! This review is all about the "people", the bartender, Brent, was superb! He was pleasant, funny, personable and efficient. He never missed a beat! His recommendations were spot-on and the reason we made reservations for our last night. Jim, our waiter was great! We also met Adam (one of the managers in the "Hotel" because on our second night we missed the 9pm cutoff at Shuckers, so we ended up in the Lobby Bar. Adam ensured that I could order my my special ice cream drink and even went to Shuckers to have Brent assist him in the preparation. Our second dinner on our last night did not disappoint. I visit Seattle often and won't hesitate to enjoy cocktails and dinner at Shuckers ! Gina H. South Bend IN.

Great lunch in classic bar

By myrnaorcas |

Went here for a relaxing lunch on a beautiful sunny day in Seattle. This restaurant has a wonderful classic wooden bar and fabulous food. I had the bowl of their seafood chowder with 2 excellent sourdough rolls and did that satisfy my meal.

My to go to place in Seattle

By calflyer80 |

When in Seattle, this is my to go to place. It has a very relaxing environment that caters to a more mature and refined clientele. Both the bar and restaurant service is very professionally handled by an excellent staff. The food is outstanding and will have you returning. The early happy hour (3:00 - 5:00) offers drink and food specials including oysters on the half shelf. For a really comfortable experience Shuckers is the place to be. One visit will have you returning. If your a visitor you will long remember the experience and talk about when you return home.

Incredible oysters!

By Annie19a |

This is one of Seattle’s best restaurants and oysters are the specialty of the house. My husband and i lunched on Oysters Rockefeller, an amazing treat. They were fantastic. The waitstaff is knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend it.

Best Oysters Rockefeller ever

By Katherine S |

Comfortable, cozy spot with excellent food and service. Definitely have oysters, which are available raw and in several traditional preparations. We were tired after a long flight from New York and didn’t feel up to a big dinner, so we shared a dozen oysters (six Rockefeller and six pan fried) and a Caesar salad. Accompanied by vodka martinis it made for a perfect meal.

Good but expensive - grading good rather than average

By FizzChick |

We went for an evening meal when we were staying at the Fairmont. Service was good, food was fine. A good meal but did not feel that it was that special.

Seattle vacation

By Katherine N |

My wife and myself went to Shuckers twice for dinner and both times had the same dinner. The halibut dinner and the pan fried oysters were splendid, the crab appetizer was fantastic. Service was wonderful and their signature dessert, the blueberry blackberry cobbler was mouthwatering. Prices were moderate. Great location within the Fairmont Olympic Hotel. Highly recommended to all.

Great food, fine place

By BunkyVA |

Two of us had dinner in this lovely, classic wood paneled, restaurant. Mussels and frites, as well as seafood chowder (really a stew) were superb. The bar merlot and local lager were excellent. As was he bread. Mud pie for dessert was awesome, though way too large. Our waitress was helpful, friendly and professional. Wine list was fine, though we didn't use it. Can't go wrong here.

classic

By cathym719 |

its a cassic steakhouse restaurant. You pretty much know what to expect the usual steak and ambience.

Donna’s Delight

By Donna Agati |

Excellent food and flawless service. It eas the best dinner we have had out in a long time. It was an outstanding dining experience.

Wonderful baked oysters

By L. R. |

We came here for the excellent reviews for the baked oysters and weren't disappointed in that respect. We ordered the Rockefeller baked oysters. They were cooked to perfection, with a rounded blend of sour, savory and sweet tastes and a melt-on-your-tongue feeling. One of the best we ever had . The rest of the dishes were meeting expectations for a place and price tag of this category - the seafood chowder, crab cakes and king salmon. Staff was friendly and attentive, the decor and atmosphere of the place was inviting and warm. Cost about USD 80 / person incl. one glass of white wine (dinner) and taxes/tips, not a bargain, but reasonable for the quality of the food and service. Next time would order more baked oysters and less other dishes.

Great Food

By JC82010 |

Went for dinner here because everyone we talked to said this was the place for seafood. It did not disappoint. The mussels appetizer we got was fantastic. There isn't much on the menu if you aren't a seafood person. Decor is like a British pub. Dress is casual.

Lunch at Shuckers

By Seeseej |

Quite an enjoyable lunch we had on a rainy afteroon. Though the place was crowded, the service was fast. The clam choweder and burger were good choices with huge sides of brussel sprouts abd mushrooms. Don’t miss the chocolate cake for dessert!

Did not meet expectations!

By BobfinNH |

We were in Seattle for 4 nights and saved our meal at Shuckers for our last night in town. We walked around the Fairmont Olympic Hotel, which is magnificent, before entering the restaurant and being seated at a table. Prices are high, but this was expected and we looked forward to our Halibut and Salmon meals. We ordered a drink and shortly thereafter put in for our meals. Our server was pleasant, but attention to detail not up to standard as he delivered my cocktail and then several minutes passed before my wife received her glass of wine (nitpicking but speaks to entire experience). Then we noticed others around us with bread on their table, but before we received bread, in fact minutes after putting our order in, our food arrived. Many times this is a happy thing, but at a restaurant of this stature it seemed like we were being rushed. We asked about the bread and it was delivered after our meal. My halibut was very good, but the salmon was overcooked. The server could tell and asked about satisfaction, not wanting to send it back and have one of us eat alone and then the other we made due. We finished the meal and had a check and were out the door in less than an hour. That is not what I expect for a restaurant of this "quality". In hindsight should have chosen someplace else to conclude our last evening.

Food so good I overate

By ianwyj |

On my final night in Seattle before heading to the airport, I decided to indulge myself during dinner at Shuckers. Giving myself plenty of time ahead of the flight, I settled in to enjoy my meal. It looked like a busy night with the restaurant already quite full. Nevertheless, service was excellent with the waiting staff highly engaging. I started off with a platter of oysters but as I was dining along, I limited myself to just half a dozen (Purple Mountains, Stellar Bays and Cranberry Creeks as so helpfully written down by my server). I had the halibut which turned out to be very tasty, I knew I needed to stop but, looking at the dessert menu, I succumbed to the temptation of a blueberry tart. At the end of the meal, I was seriously full but what a very enjoyable meal it had been - can't wait to be back.

Oysters yep!

By IJenI |

So we went for the oysters. Had a couple of seats up at the bar but got full service and full menu. Started with a selection of the eight different oysters raw (came with horseradish, vinegar and hot sauce on the side). Had salads afterwards which were great Caesar and Cobb. Ended with a half dozen more oysters just so great. Service was impeccable. Knowledgable and professional (and it was bar service). Well done.

Not so hot!!!

By Ndncollector |

Made reservations for myself and an important group of business associates! Showed up at 730 and didn’t leave until almost 1030. Service was super slow and had to ask repeatedly bc we had missing orders! Quality was ok, but this place definitely did not help me leave the impression I was hoping for. To add insult to injury after the embarrassment, they added a 20% tip on multi thousand dollar bill. Not happy I came here.

Seafood - Yum

By Boskk69 |

As oyster fans, we got to enjoy a great feast, with multiple local choices, both raw and cooked, at reasonable prices. The clam chowder was also solid, and the roasted brussel sprouts were delicious and plentiful. They also gave us the best seat in the house, right in a corner at the window looking out at downtown, and accommodated a changed reservation when my plane landed an hour late, which was much appreciated. Service was friendly and capable.

Like it used to be…

By Humming-and-Bird |

The beautiful venue, well prepared seafood and our fantastic server Chris contributed to a memorable dinner. Checking all marks these days is difficult for restaurants. Well done!

Living up to it's stellar reputation

By Kimberly M |

As always, Shuckers nailed it! Service was top notch (Jelena), just the right mix of attentiveness without being bothersome...and very knowledgeable. From oysters thru the fish (black cod) and Scallops, very fresh and nicely presented. Absolutely no complaints, it is such a reliable and enjoyable experience. we keep coming back.

Pre 5th Ave Show dinner

By deebk |

This was a great spot for dinner before a show at 5th Ave. we took the Light Rail and got off at University Street - 1 block walk The food was great! I only got pics of dessert - sorry. Lots of local, fresh seafood and produce Put this on your list when in Seattle

Delicious food and a great bartender!!

By withaview |

Shuckers is one of the best restaurants in Seattle. My husband and I went for dinner there (twice) last week. The atmosphere is wonderful. And the food is fantastic. I had the oysters and the Cesar salad. My husband (who doesn’t care for seafood) had the burger. He said that it was one of the best burgers that he’s ever had. The berries and cream was an incredible dessert. The service at Shuckers is fantastic. Brent is a fantastic bartender (and server). He always makes you feel welcome. He’s friendly, funny and one of the reasons that we keep coming back!

Great meal with wonderful service.

By Travelbug33423 |

My husband and I ate here after a long delayed day of travel. We were tired and hungry. I had an earlier reservation, but didn’t make it due to the travel delay. I called and they graciously accommodated our new time. We started with oysters and drinks, which were delicious! We then split a wedge salad, which may have been the biggest that I have ever seen. We also split the halibut special, which had an amazing, but not over powering sauce that complimented the fish so nicely. Our waiter, Tim, was superb. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Octopus!

By Traveler mom |

We came for a late dinner, so we tried to order light, thus we had just few appetizers: carb cake, chowder, fresh oysters and grilled octopus. Food was great, super super delicious, the octopus is very tasty, but the oysters were so tiny . We finished our dinner with their creamy crème brûlée. Our waiter was so elegant and professional. Very lovely environment. Thus the restaurant looks more fancy in the pictures than it is actually in real life. Still great place to visit, and have great dinner at. Highly recommended.

Pricey

By LifesShort99 |

delicious. It is pricey so I would onlyThis restaurant was located in a hotel. The food was great. Cooked perfectly. Depending on what you order, the portion can be small. The salmon was s good size but the scallop dish portion was on the small size. Oysters were fresh and go for a special occasion.

Classic and classy

By magicbullet058 |

Old fashion restaurant located in a fancy hotel preparing seafood and fish in a wonderful way. The oysters selection is very good and the sauces are nice. The fish is fresh and nicely done. Staff is very nice and pleasant. All and all go there and treat yourself to great meal in a beautiful place

great happy hour

By Cakimbo |

helpful staff, quick and delicious stop for Happy hour. Bartender was awesome, sharing local hints. great oysters on happy hour, want to go back for dinner

Great oysters! A little disappointed with atmosphere.

By Tatyana R |

Great oysters! From raw, to cooked, to smoked, which are especially delicious! Food and service were great, but the atmosphere of a typical bar was a little disappointing. I wish it was a little quieter and crowd was’t dressed in t-shirts and sports jerseys.

Wonderful experience, but for the waiter

By SimeyTravels |

My husband planned this Seattle trip for my birthday surprise. He booked the airfare, got the hotel, and researched and reserved the restaurant for my birthday dinner. I must say, I was quite impressed by everything (his effort, and the city). This restaurant was almost perfect, and I'm being very generous in only removing one star for our waiter. He was definitely nice and friendly, but good lord was he absent! We spent way more time at the restaurant because we had to wait for him to take our drink order, then for us to place our appetizer order, then to place our meal order, then for him to box up our food at the end, then to take our card...it was excruciating, especially because we were so eager to get back out to explore the city! But, I'm getting ahead of myself. The hostess was sweet and greeted us right away, leading us to a small table/booth combo. I ordered one of the Seattle Ciders on tap, and my husband ordered a Seattle ale. We then decided to split a dozen oysters but realized we were going to have to rely on the shucker to help us, as we know nothing about oysters (other than I love them, and my husband has them when I ask.) Our waiter offered to give us a sampling of 6 oysters, which we liked. We ended up with the Treasure Cove (favorite by far), Purple Mountain, Sun Hollow, Mirada, Row Point and Deer Creek (I'm pretty sure that's what they were; whoever penned the accompanying note must've written it with their feet). I sat down thinking I was going to order the mussels, and my husband thought he was going to get the crab cakes, but after listening to the waiter talk about the specials, I went with the King Salmon and my husband ordered the trout. The salmon was pan-seared to perfection, flaky and only minimally fatty. I chose to pair the fish with the spring salad, which had a light and delicious salad dressing. My husband's trout was similarly delightful - he said it was the best piece of trout he's had. I'd say that's pretty high praise! To end the night, the waiter stopped by to tell me that they'd be giving me a dessert to celebrate my birthday. So sweet! I wanted to share a dessert with my husband because I was pretty full by then, but he insisted that I get my own. I think he knew I wouldn't want the dessert he was eyeballing, so this was his play. I went with the cake - because, really, I can't remember the last time I had cake on my birthday - and my husband ordered the berry tart. My goodness, I wish the waiter had said how big the cake slice was. Once he brought it out - with a candle and everything - I was literally turning to the tables next to me with a fork in hand, asking if they'd be interested in sharing a piece of my cake. It was three layers and a large wedge. Plus it came with two scoops of vanilla ice cream and a wafer to boot. My husband's dessert was a tart full of blueberries and blackberries and served with two gigantic scoops of sour cream ice cream. It was tart, but it was so good! Of course I couldn't finish the cake, and the waiter insisted on bagging it up for us. We had a fridge in the hotel room, but I didn't really expect us to eat it, not when there are so many great places to try in Seattle! And, true to expectation, we ended up chucking the cake before checking out on Sunday. It really was a nice evening, and would've been perfect if our waiter had been more available.

Not an ordinary hotel restaurant.

By JJT000 |

Not inexpensive, but well worth it. Fantastic seafood in a city where it can be strangely a little difficult to find. A historic room, again, a bit rare for this town.

Outstanding meal!

By Marta A |

This restaurant is attached to the Fairmont Hotel. It is small and intimate. There is a variety of raw and cooked oysters. We ate smoked oysters and the steelhead; both were delicious. The wine list has a good variety of Washington state wines as well. A very enjoyable evening with great service

Very enjoyable

By Alan Blakeney |

This was one of the restaurants recommended by the concierge at our hotel. It was excellent. Recommend the oysters. We also had salmon and halibut. Nice selection of cocktails also. Service very good.

Underwhelming

By Bhajji |

After reading the stellar reviews, this was a no brainer for an evening with a special guest Didn't happen. From the service to the food, we were all underwhelmed. Pros: Convenient location in downtown Seattle with easy parking. The ambience is comfortable, and not too loud. The lighting is soft but not dark. The oysters were tasty. Cons: The waiter was not happy with our pacing with a snide comment added. The signature Paris Something (I don't recall the name) and he New Fashion drinks were okay. Their mediocrity led to a conversation of cocktail preparation which our guest knew a lot about. The bread was plain and was evidenced by one small bite taken by two of us. The red seafood chowder was unmemorable, the scallops were okay. The sorbet were not as good as the ones made by our guest. The waiter had to be reminded to bring the wine. As he said, he was distracted in a room that was not full. Final determination: I would not return as the culinary experience was mediocre

Great

By matt n frank |

Amazing food and amazing service. The restaurant wasn’t the most well kept nor smelt particularly nice but the team and the food more than made up for this. I had the swordfish and wow!

Nice meal

By Paige A |

Yummy oysters-pan fried with remoulade which were cooked perfectly. In fact wished we had another order of them so were so good. We also ordered the calamari which was very tender and not too much batter. The siracha ailoi was good with just the right amount of heat. Finished off our meal with a cup of seafood chowder which was very good. Service was quick and attentive and the atmosphere was good.

Average

By Steves_Rickshaw |

Such high expectations for a restaurant this well rated. But from the food to the service, all four of us were very disappointed. The food all surprisingly bland. The server almost desperately kept trying to up sell us. It felt like there were coasting on their reputation. Other people seem to enjoy this, but there are soooo much better restaurants in Seattle we won't be going back.

Meh...

By khemmett |

My friend and I chose Shuckers for a pre-theater dinner because of its close proximity to the 5th Ave, and because we wanted to treat ourselves to good seafood that we wouldn't normally have at home. Upon entering, the decor of the restaurant felt dated and the demographic of the customers did too. We are in our 50s and were definitely the younger of the patrons at 6pm on a Friday. We were seated at a table for two but the table was so small it made it difficult to navigate having both water and wine and a small appetizer on the table at the same time. Also it was in such close proximity to the next table that the woman sitting next to us could simply turn her head and be part of our group. To our servers credit, he did suggest we could move the table if we wanted. We ordered the jumbo prawn cocktail as an appetizer and it was...meh. Didn't seem particularly fresh...maybe just frozen prawns thawed out and served with a tiny cup of bottled cocktail sauce and one small lemon wedge. Not fresh, not jumbo. We asked for a recommendation for an entree from the menu and were told that the halibut was "exquisite." At $43 a plate, it really should have been. The food was just bordering on warm but nowhere near hot, and was overall disappointing. We were offered salt and pepper before we'd had a chance to taste the food but declined prematurely. That would have helped the dish significantly. It was really just...MEH. Not much flavor in what should have been a fairly complex sauce...leeks, jalapeno, pancetta and cream. Our server was great--very friendly and attentive. Overall though the food was not as good as what I could have made myself which was just a bummer since it was so expensive. Shuckers needs to up their game significantly. With it's current offerings, it's definitely not worth the money. I'm happy to pay for good food, but I didn't find any at Shuckers.

Great sea food and service

By Barb J |

We made a point to find a great sea food restaurant on a layover in Seattle. Shucker’s did not disappoint. As mid westerners having such a variety of fresh sea food is a special treat. I had the halibut, which was perfectly prepared and presented. We actually arrived early for our reservation since we miss timed the light rail trip from the airport to downtown. The restaurant seated us immediately! We could easily have had to wait for our reservation time and appreciated the great service. I would go back to Shuckers again next time we are in Seattle

Really enjoyed the fresh fish choices

By David L |

We were staying at the hotel and wanted to eat at Shuckers and had a very good dinner with excellent service and a nice menu to chose from. Drinks were good and would recommend this to anyone.

Excellent Food and The Bartender Was Fantastic!

By SDSpartan |

We stayed at a hotel right next door (W) - came here because we wanted something close by. So glad we did! The food was excellent - all the seafood was fresh and tasty. We sat at the bar as we did not have a reservation (one would be recommended). Had the oyster appetizers - the baked one - house smoked - were so good! I wish I had more time to return to Shuckers and get some more of those before we left town. The salmon was delicious as was the halibut, which the bartender said was some of the 1st of the season. The service from the bartender was excellent! Wine and cocktails were all good. Only "negative' is that the hostess was not friendly when she found out we did not have a reservation. She did not offer the bar seating as an option. We actually left the restaurant and then I though - of wait let's check to see if there is bar seating available - which there was.

Great Seafood, Hotel Pricing

By McMarshal |

Had dinner here our first night at the Fairmont Olympic. We found the service friendly and efficient. Food was delicious and portions were generous (so much crab!). Just found the pricing was at a premium, which is likely due to the hotel it's attached to. Really appreciated the comp'ed dessert -- it was an anniversary stay, and this was actually the only gesture we had at the hotel or its restaurants over four nights, so that made it more special even! Good wine list, and our server was super knowledgeable about the wines. Be sure to the local bourbon flight to wrap up the meal!

Delicious oysters

By Aquajh |

Delicious oysters, friendly staffs, and nice service. Although the food quantity was smaller than what I expected, the food quality was good.

Have the oysters three ways

By Vacationer827919 |

Highly recommend the oysters cooked three different ways. We had a great last minute meal. There are a lot of tables packed into the space so not a lot of privacy which is part of the lively atmosphere.

Winter family dinner

By Nafsouf |

Nice restaurant at the fairmont hotel Seattle, good food, very fresh, good service, classic atmosphere.

Usual Fare

By JL2z |

Different menu that was listed. Still found something but dissappointed. Food was cooked to order and the service was good.

Anniversary Dinner

By Vickie M |

Our meals were expertly prepared. The fish we ordered was moist and perfectly seasoned. Service was excellent too. The restaurant atmosphere is cozy and perfect for a date night or anniversary dinner. I would highly recommend making reservations as the restaurant fills up quickly for dinner. We will definitely return!

Uniquely aged

By Dave A |

Located in Fairmont Olympic Hotel, reopened after a short kitchen upgrade sabbatical. Amazing woodwork in the entire building. The service was superior. Food included oysters and calamari. Both exceptional. You have to go up a small flight of stairs so wheelchair access is limited to a separate entrance. Several customers were directed to a different entrance because of challenging access. The experience was good though. Worthy of a second visit.

Open for Christmas!

By Joe G |

Open for Christmas! And fortunately for us although they were fully booked for the holiday there was space at the bar. We enjoyed calamari, tasty clam chowder and crab Mac and cheese. It was an exquisite Christmas dinner. Add a glass of wine and a beer with great service from Brett and we had the perfect impromptu dinner. But the best part was the homemade mud pie and blueberry and blackberry crisp with sour cream ice cream and a piping hot espresso to top it all off! Delightful!

Don't miss it.

By Jose Maria R |

A very good option, full of oysters, shrimp, escalpas, elm halibut and salmon we found or only good but extraordinary. A small, cozy place with excellent service and superbly led kitchen. One of the places I recommend in Seattle without fear of mistake. Keep going. You will certainly be satisfied and glad to have dined here.

Good choice for lunch or dinner

By Bruce F |

I ate here three times during my stay in the city and was quite satisfied. Service was friendly, professional and very efficient. And the food was always good. Of course the house specialties emphasize seafood.

A great overall meal

By Jim C |

We started with the oysters, which were outstanding. They had a good menu but I couldn’t bypass the halibut. The presentation and taste were perfect. The service was also friendly and quick. I will return when in town again.

Lots of seafood options

By Martha C |

Shuckers is in a beautiful setting in the Fairmont Olympic Hotel. You can smell the fresh seafood when you enter. I had the crab cocktail and it was outstanding. Also had a Halibut special that was generous and delicious. My partner had salmon which was disappointing and a Caesar salad that was tasteless. For the cost, a little disappointing. For us.

Good!

By 89tarb |

My wife and I ate here twice, for lunch and a week later dinner. Make sure you book, oysters are good and presented beautifully, the chowder for lunch is excellent....... Nice to see the wait staff were, shall we say,of an older generation, and on making conversation with the staff most had been there a long time,so know their stuff.... Excellent wine selection, try a good Riesling, with the Haddock. Would eat here again.

Wonderful dinner and service

Made a reservation for 6:15 pm and arrived early, greeted by a gentleman that was also my server. He was so genuine and interactive with discussions about wines in the region and the menu. I had a martini, a Rex Hill Pinot Noir, the Olympia oysters and the filet special with crab stuffed pasta. Wow. Great service the entire evening and fabulous food. Blew my meal allowance for the day and it was worth it.

Top of top in sea food

By J. Antonio PA |

While staying at the Fairmont Olympic I decided to have dinner without leaving the site. While that food is expensive, the value is very high, and the service particularly caring and knowledgeable, without being intrusive. I had a bowl of seafood chowder, and a black cod that could not have been any better. I would recommend to make reservations, particularly as the weeks approaches the weekend.

Just there for the Oysters!

By Michael R |

So the name's perfect and the oysters even better! Fortunately my hotel room is close because I see more oysters in my future. Service is outstanding and the seafood is equally grand. I had the trout but I head from a nearby diner that the scallops are divine...but I was really just there for the oysters and plan to go back for more!

Get the chowder

By Dave Bowman |

First visit to this restaurant. Nice bar and dining area. I really liked the wood and all the old world details. So much different than the carbon copy restaurants of today. The service was great and the clam chowder was the best I have had…. And I have tried a lot. Congratulations to the chef. The beer batter halibut was tasty and my wife’s Crab Louie was very fresh and a nice portion of crab. Great food and they pour a nice cocktail! Hope to visit again DaveB

Exceptional

By David W |

There's nothing like fresh northwest seafood, and Shucker's excell at this! The oysters were amazing and delicate; the fresh salmon and sides of vegetables were the best I have ever had in Seattle. The ambiance, service, coupled with the cleanliness of the establishment, truly make this a must on anyone's list of great restaurants to mark off their "bucket list".

Wonderful Jelena. Great service, very welcoming!!

By Marilyn V |

The servce from Jelena was great. Knowledgeable, very welcoming, polite. Food was great, very fresh oyster, had both raw and baked. Me and my husband both had fish, halibut and black cod. Fish was undercooked, Yelena fixed that right away. We end up enjoying our fish as well. What a great experience. Will be back when in town. Thank you Jelena

Amazing atmosphere

By Family_o_fun |

The atmosphere is wonderful and lively and service excellent and friendly, but I found the food to be very lacking. The crab cakes were lacking sauce but were otherwise good. I had the crab louie salad and I was quite disappointed. I've eaten this many times before in good restaurants and this one was a bit uninspired. Crab/veggies/ and a dish of sauce. The service was excellent!

A perfect meal in Seattle

By Dimitrivaz |

What a tranquil and elegant restaurant with perfect ambiance. The restaurant is over 50 years old and the space is 100 years old, originally a men’s clothing store. We wanted fresh seafood and were not disappointed. The halibut was delicious with an option for asparagus salad. Some of the tastiest sourdough boule I have ever had. Best of all was the service. The hostess welcomed us even though their system was down and Chris our waiter was charming, attentive and made for a perfect evening. So glad we stopped in.

Shuckers: great for lunch, awesome for dinner

By 308brucew |

We dined at Shuckers for dinner having only eaten there for lunch previously. We made reservations early and were glad we did, the place was full. Despite the crowd, the service was impeccable. Constant people, yet the restaurant was clean. We had the ahi and the fish and chips. Fish and chips is easy to do, but difficult to do perfectly, yet Shuckers manages. the elevate the dish to a new level. the fish was incredibly fresh and the batter was light and flavourful. The ahi was cooked to absolute perfection: seared on the outside but pink in the middle and just a hint of warmth at the very center. Topped it off with creme brule for dessert along with some of the best coffee in Seattle and we walked away secure in the knowledge we'd enjoyed one of the better seafood meals we've ever enjoyed.

Delicious (if Pricey) Raw Oysters!

By Pam M |

I learned to love raw oysters years ago while living in Seattle after college and Shuckers did not disappoint. The restaurant is attached to the Fairmont Hotel which is a high-end chain and the oysters are priced accordingly. Since we were visiting Seattle from the East Coast we were happy to pay a little extra for local oysters that we are not able to enjoy very often. Dress code here around dinner time is more snappy casual than Seattle grunge.

Seafood Happiness

By Love2Vaca |

Shuckers was exactly what we were looking for on our one night in Seattle. My husband and I went last minute on a Friday night so there was only bar seating. That’s ok because our bartender Brett provided phenomenal service! He made great recommendations and was perfectly attentive without being pushy. Ordered seafood chowder, oysters and crab mac n’cheese. Food was DELICIOUS. Atmosphere was swanky yet comfortable. Prices were a tad steep, but it was expected and we did not mind paying for our great experience.

Good Oysters, Good Service

By pmorin85251 |

Enjoyed our bar seating with a dozen oysters and the halibut. Nice place, good food and good service.

Awesome

By Frank C |

Great food, service, attitude and experience... chowder was like seafood ecstasy ... don’t need to say more

Seattle splurge

By Caitlin J |

Shuckers provides a classy backdrop to enjoy seafood in downtown Seattle. I rated it four stars as I expect more at the price point of the menu. Our server was kind and flexible but not overly attentive. We enjoyed people watching from a sidewalk table so I cannot speak to the ambience of the restaurant. Oysters were very small so the kitchen threw in a couple extra to our half dozen. We tried the pan-fried, provencal, and Rockefeller styles. The provided bread was nothing special. We then split a Caesar salad, Dungeness crab Mac and Cheese and the halibut entree. At $38, the halibut was flavorful and well prepared but a small portion without any true accompanying sides. If you want to spend this kind of money on a meal, I would steer towards a more inventive offering—I’m sure there are many!

Great seafood restaurant

By Cheryl D |

The best seafood in Seattle. A fun, casual restaurant in the Fairmont Olympia Hotel. Excellent food and service.

Yummy seafood!!

By Monica |

This place has the best halibut fish and chips I’ve ever had! So good! Now it’s pretty expensive, but to be expected in a hotel restaurant. We went back again. Just as delicious. We had scallops, calamari and salad. All good! The people are really nice too.

Great Food and Atmosphere!

By Paul P |

Excellent selection of appetizers, salads and seafood main courses. Our meals were very good as was the service from Jim.

Great Seafood

By Ladye A |

We started with Calamari, Clam Chowder and Crab Mac N Cheese. Each was wonderful. Had a dozen raw oysters and they were broke down into 6 different areas in Seattle. They were so good and you could tell a difference when you tasted. We also ordered a dozen Oysters Rockefeller and a half dozen Smoked oysters. I enjoyed the Fish & Chips and Brussels Sprouts.

Excellent food and vibe!

By sallyann4412016 |

My husband and I ate here 4 times out of our 5 day stay at the Fairmont. Both lunch and dinner were buzzy with fresh seafood and spot on service. Both bar tenders Brett and Brent (I think) were friendly and attentive to all at the bar! In summary, great choice of seafood in an old fashioned bar/restaurant. If you’re in Seattle.....GO!

Great spot

By ronster737 |

Great place. Sat at the bar. Great conversations, exceptional drinks and service. Food was awesome also. Tried some of the smaller -lates. All were exceptional.

Great food and service

By FortWorthGirl47 |

We had oysters served three different ways and enjoyed all of them. They serve fresh horseradish with the cocktail sauce. It was so good.

Classic seafood restaurant

By tougo |

Dined here our first night staying at the hotel. The restaurant was full on arrival, but my requested table was waiting for us. We started with a nice variety of oysters, followed by the octopus which was delicious. We both ordered fish off the board and everything was perfectly cooked. Our drinks were perfect as well. It was a lovely evening and we did not feel rushed even on such a busy Saturday night.

Great for the fresh oyster scene!

By B2ZMoab |

Sure is pricey to try these little suckers! But they sure can be good! If you are not a big oyster eater, this is a great place to test the waters. They have a variety of preparations and oysters from many locations. The actual oyster bar is pretty cool to see with all if the different oysters labeled from different locations. Certainly fresh food. For the main dish, I had the "Snake River Farms Wagyu". It wasn't as good as most other places that claim Wagyu beef. It was OK and certainly not a regular old steak. But it was on the lower quality end of the Wagyu. The wife had the Scallops risotto. Wasn't her favorite either. Scallops were cooked fine but the risotto didn't hit the mark. Not a bad place to eat. Just maybe not quite worth the premium price.

Wonderful

By Travis E |

We had an absolutely magnificent meal here. The food was impeccable, the seafood was all super fresh, the service was top notch. Truly a great dining experience.

Seafood eatery

By Traveler53776 |

This restaurant is very convenient if you are staying in downtown. Nice ambience and varied menu. The seafood was well prepared but everything was overly salted and I like salt.

Impressive room, impressive prices

By Kutskurina |

The ambiance is great: casual yet elegant. We wanted a simple lunch to include oysters, and got an interesting assortment: some sharp and briny, some creamy. It was good but we can’t say it was worth the expense. Service was disjointed. The dinner menu looked interesting, and we’d go back if somebody else was paying the bill.

People Shouldn't eat sea food anymore, but the Bloody Mary was GREAT!

By chrisDTW |

I was exploring the beautiful Fairmont Olympic Hotel downtown and wanted to celebrate my birthday with a drink. I sat at the bar of the restaurant in the hotel, called SHUCKERS and ordered a Bloody Mary. As a marine life conservationist, I wasn't thrilled to eat at a seafood restaurant, so I just had a drink. The bartender, Brent...made a great Bloody Mary and was very polite and attentive. $16.52 for a Bloody Mary plus tip is pricey, but Brent made up for it with great service.

The BEST seafood in Seattle

By Melissa H |

Our favorite place to go for fresh, delicious seafood and top notch service. The baked oysters are to die for. Always love the fresh fish board, the servers are always happy to help with dietary restrictions and substitutions.

Great lunch at Shuckers!

By Patnjack |

If you enjoy seafood you will love Shuckers! Food was outstanding and service was great. Warm and cozy atmosphere.

What a Gem

By Bekindtostaff |

I came to Shuckers by accident and couldn’t be happier. When I called for info on menu they were gracious and answered all my questions and gave me a reservation for one at opening. My server Rishi H was amazing! Substituted the fries for mashed and very attentive. I had the Halibut fish and chips with mashed(less fried food) and some sourdough bread and a glass of Chardonnay. Can’t wait to go back and try the Salmon and the Caesar salad. It’s a beautiful restaurant with atmosphere in spades. Go you will not regret!

Fresh

By Reasonable50 |

Fresh seafood with friendly professional staff. It is an old school small restaurant with dark wood walls. I loved it and had dinner there twice. The oysters were so very fresh. I had them both raw and cooked. Also, the halibut fish and chips are legend. Yum!

Amazing food and friendly service

By Lauren H |

I felt more comfortable here on my week of solo business travel than anywhere else in Seattle. I ordered two starters, which was too much food, but both tasted amazing, especially the calamari. The dessert was also incredible - blueberry and blackberry pie - and the waiter was right that I would like the accompanying sour cream ice cream! I’ll go back on my next visit.

Disappointing evening

By Knth0691 |

Expected an evening with wonderful food and surroundings for our first night in Seattle and were consistently disappointed. Thought shrimp cocktail would be memorable and it was the same as I often pick up at Whole Foods; nothing special. Entrees were nothing to talk about. Atmosphere was loud and uninviting. Couldn’t leave fast enough.

Dinner at the Bar

By Bruce B |

Oyster selection, and then clams. All excellent. Decent beer selection and there was a brisk cocktail business which was nice to see. I'd call it pricey. You easily spend $45/person here without getting exotic. Great atmosphere, great service.

Never Disapponts

By Aguawater |

A wonderful evening as I dined al fresco in the beautiful evening air of Seattle Washington. The restaurant was a mere block from the hotel I was staying at this weekend. This is a favorite restaurant of mine where the seafood is consistently fresh and tasty. Tonight I opted for the seafood chowder, scallops and blackberry tart for dessert. The chowder was delightful— full of flavors and seafood. The scallops were fresh and seasoned perfectly. I topped off the dinner with a yummy blackberry tart Ala mode. If you want the very best seafood in all of Seattle, my vote is Shuckers.

Romantic always

By Owinarosa |

I love going to Shuckers for date night, its my favorite spot because its small, the staff are warm, the interior is cozy.. they make a mean brick chicken and Louie salad... I adore this place, we are always treated very well. The quality of the food makes the prices justifiable.

Best breaded chicken fried steak ever

By RachelleNadinePhotography |

We checked out of our hotel at noon but wanted breakfast. Found a picture of a chicken fried steak on someone's review of Shuckers Oyster Bar. That is our favorite item to order at a restaurant for breakfast since I never make that at home. Atmosphere feels like a bar setting. Diverse menu with lots of options. We didnt have to think twice about what we were going to order. 2 chicken fried steaks with Sunnyside up eggs, 1 with hash Browns and one with fried potatoes with cheese and onions. Amazing fully breaded steak. You can tell these guys have perfected how to bread something. Perfectly coated, not too thick not too thin. Breading stuck to the steak as you ate it and stayed crispy. They probably do incredible breaded fish dishes. The gravy was how we like it with chunks of sassage. The fried potatoes, I ordered extra crispy and had an added layer of flavor with the cheese and onions. I couldn't even eat all of mine, it was massive. Definitely a not to miss stop next time you need a late breakfast in Lincoln City.

Excellent scallops and popcorn shrimp

By SJG444 |

Great service and good food. We started with the popcorn shrimp which was really good. My friend followed with scallops, also really good (indeed she commented that they were probably the best scallops she had ever had). I had the crab cakes which were good but really could have done with some kind of sauce to go with them as they were a little dry without.

Classic Oyster Bar

By Timothy H |

I wanted seafood, fresh and simply prepared, so I decided to try this restaurant in the lovely Fairmont Olympic Hotel. Solid meal of appetizers: shrimp cocktail, classic wedge salad, and oysters on the half shell. Hit the spot. Wedge salad looked and tasted great, shrimp cocktail didn’t skimp, and I particularly enjoyed the Kusshi oysters, which were light and sweet. Michael, the server, proved the most attentive and professional I’ve come across in a long time. Spendy, but everything in Seattle these days is spendy, and prices are fairly comparable across Seattle’s main oyster bars.

Great atmosphere, Great food!

By Joel M |

Perfect location for where we stayed. Food was spectacular, service was good. there is a lot of competition in Seattle for seafood, but these guys are worth the visit!

Best Fish and Chips I've ever had

By ramanning7 |

Loved this restaurant. We sat outside and the ambience was great, on a sunny Seattle day. Dessert was the best, bluberry/blackberry pie ala mode...soooo good!! I'm looking forward to going again. The people and place were fantastic. Fish and Chips were very good. Thank you!

Good sea food!

By Richard S |

The wait person was great! And they were very attentive. The calamari was among the best we have ever had … not over cooked, tender and with a nice coating on it.

Great Seafood

By ahorton1 |

Oysters are the bomb! 9 different types of oysters the night of our visit. Crab cakes are 99% crab meat! Very eclectic atmosphere. Highly recommend this restaurant while in Seattle.

Family Dinner

By yshett |

Met family at Shuckers for dinner. Enjoyed drinks, appetizers, oysters for the table and entree's. Everything was delicious and our waiter was fully versed in all items on the menu, very friendly, made great recommendations when asked and answered all questions we had. If you enjoy seafood it is a must.

Only go if you love seafood

By DAEsmae |

I have now been to three business lunches here, always with the location selected by colleagues. On the plus side, it is quiet enough to have a conversation and thus appropriate for a business lunch, and the waitstaff are professional and provide good service. Not being a huge seafood fan, I have never been enthusiastic about this place - while they say they offer a few non-seafood items, they are very few and disappointing, and even when I have gone with seafood choices I have not been pleased. First I tried the salmon sandwich - although the salmon was good, it was very hard to eat, messy, and overall not something I wanted to be dealing with at a business lunch. So the second time around I tried cheeseburger - which was just ok, again messy and hard to eat/unweildy size, with sides that were not great (wedge fries, which had a mealy texture). Last week on the third time out I decided to go with fish and chips, but did not find the fish at all flavorful or that the fries had improved at all. In all honesty, it was not even in the top 5 best fish and chips I have had, which surprised me given the seafood focus. I asked about the chicken dish that was new to the menu but was told it would be an extra delay to prepare - not ok for a business lunch. It would be great if they would offer some simple lunch fare appropriate for a non-messy (ideally tasty) business lunch but that hasn't been my experience.

Fantastic Food and atmosphere

By lanicopip |

I would recommend saving room for dessert the key lime and the blackberry pie with custom icecream were amaziing. Really great food and service

Breakfast at Shuckers

By The Business Traveler |

Had breakfast here, 50 dollars 1 person for a very average breakfast with juice that is not even fresh (they tell you it is) and bad coffee. Would not recommend. Interior looks awful and dark.

Horrible food!

By Ella F |

We went to Schuckers for the Christmas Eve Dinner last night. We were so excited to have a fabulous meal out on the town with family. I can not stress how terrible the food was. They offered a fixed menu for the evening. Choice of turkey or sable fish. My husband and I upgraded the extra $25.00 each for the Prime Rib. Our family member had the sable fish. The prime rib was like something out of an amateur grill experiment in the back yard. Was charred beyond belief! I have had better prime rib at a Golden Corral. It did not even resemble prime rib. Honestly. Our family member's fish was raw. Yes raw! We were the first to be seated at 3:00 and no other customers came until around 3:30. At one point the manager came and asked us about sending food back. We had not sent the food back, we just wanted to leave. So, who else in the restaurant sent their food back for poor quality or served at a raw state? The waiter was great. Food just horrible. Our final bill was something similar to a car payment. I felt ripped off and angry! For comparison, the night before we had dinner at the Captain Whidbey Inn on Whidbey Island. They sure put out an excellent meal there at 1/2 the price. Please, pass on going to Schuckers unless you are just getting oysters and a nice cocktail. We won't go back! We did not confront the waiter about how dissatisfied we were, we paid the bill and left. The more we reflected on it the more we thought we should have at least expressed how bad we thought it was. However, it was Christmas Eve and we wanted to not draw attention to ourselves and make a scene.

Great place !

By Vacationer588794 |

Sat at the bar - Brent is a terrific bartender! Tried 2 different types of oysters - delicious! Calamari was yummy too - served in a broth ! Finished off sharing fish and chips . Wonderful night, great staff and atmosphere!

Great Oysters

By Lynda H |

I enjoyed a dozen raw oysters while people-watching from a table on the sidewalk with the sunshine out! The oysters were on Happy Hour and they were delicious and fresh. There was an assortment of 3 varieties. My waiter was lovely, and his name was Rishi!

Terrific Restaurant

By frequenttraveler1919 |

I really like this restaurant and have eaten there on my two trips to Seattle. There are lots of great seafood choices and wonderful oysters. There is an excellent wine list with many selections of good Washington wines. The noise level is reasonable and the staff is welcoming. If I return to Seattle, I will definitely return to this restaurant.

Was a favorite...not any more!

By Love-Maui-101 |

Schuckers Restaurant has always been one of our favorite restaurants for fresh seafood while dining in Seattle. Not this time. We were duped on this visit. My husband and I wanted to share a Crab Louie salad They had an appetizer size for $10 or an entree size for $15. We decided to share the entree version. When we got our bill, we were charged $15 for the "louie" and $10 additional for the crab! What's a louie without any protein? A $25 salad! We also had baked oysters casino style which includes bacon..not so...we got artificial bacon bits! So buyer beware!

Delicious seafood

By rageisman |

Last night of our trip and this place really hit the spot. Oysters were very good, and the scallop entree was outstanding. Husband had fish and chips, said they were very good. Although in a hotel, we enjoyed the ambiance here. Would recommend

Best Oyster Happy Hour

By food_reviewer45 |

When in Seattle, I tried 4 restaurants for HH (happy hour) oysters. This was by far the best. Other locations had small oysters for HH. Shuckers had their normal size. The 1/2 doz order was $12 ($2 each, duh). There were 3 kinds of oysters, 3 kinds of toppings plus lemon. Best presentation. Best tasting. Had to have another 6. The HH red wine was quality and only $7. Nice day to sit on the patio and enjoy. Server Steve was excellent, as someone would expect at a Fairmont hotel restaurant.

Scallops!

By Formiga |

Our group came here for appetizers and drinks before we set out for the night and we were all pretty happy. We had Scallops, Crab cakes, Caesar’s salad, and Calamari, everything was delicious.

Food was not good

By Vagabond |

Food was not good, overpriced. Our waiter Kevin was nice but was getting confused/overworked. The managers did help out with serving, which was nice.

Luke is great!

By Lisa K |

The manager Luke helped my mom search for an earring she lost. Thank you Luke for your help and great customer service!

Great atmosphere great food

By RPM1966 |

This place was a real find. Charming and helpful service. One of our party is coeliac. Not a problem at all. The waiter was knowledgeable and helpful. Halibut and chips were spot on. Blueberry and blackberry pie with sour cream ice cream was as good a dessert as one could get. All sensibly priced. Recommended.

Bland and uninspired

By Nancy W |

Overpriced and underspiced hotel restaurant that doesn’t live up to the numerous glowing reviews on TripAdvisor. Maybe Covid changed their menu and chef. Few offerings, small portions and server inattentive. So disappointed!

Great seafood chowder

By travelindan |

Nice place for a quick bite/late lunch. The seafood chowder was great. The halibut was too. Oysters were good but a bit pricey for a New Orleans oyster boy. They offered a huge variety to choose from, many local.

Soooo good!

By Penash25 |

Food is delicious. We had the clam chowder that was so full of flavor and we had the fantastic halibut fish and chips. You cannot go wrong!!! I must give a shoutout to our waitress Gabby. She was so sweet!! This was a great lunch!!

hotel bar but pretty good

By B_Asalone |

we stayed at the fairmont so used this one night just at the bar. Brent the bartender was personable and made his own special drinks you don't get elsewhere (from reading speakeasy recipes). We had dinner a second night and it was pretty good fair but nothing to write home about.

Dinner with family

By funcouple34 |

The menu is varied, naturally fresh fish is offered along with other choices. Beautiful presentation, impeccable service with striking surroundings. For best seating call for reservations.

We look forward to going here every time in town

By adalbert3 |

The food is always first class, the décor is relaxing, the servers are all pleasant and it seems to consistently have a pleasant buzz. We have enjoyed many of the items on the menu---of course you will want some oysters---how you have them prepared often depends on your mood. If you want a good bowl of clam chowder soup (you can get cream or tomato-based) on a cold, wet day, they have it, If you want a light salad--the Crab Louie Salad does not disappoint. The Dungeness Crab Mac & Cheese will certainly fill you up--the Crab Cakes are a bit lighter---if you yearn for crab. I love the stained wood interior--it used to be a men's upscale clothing store,

Great dinner in Seattle

By Olivier F |

Colleagues and I decided to go to the hotel’s restaurant. This was a lovely experience which I would highly recommend. Nice staff and service. I very much enjoyed the dozen oysters (coming from 5 different locations) followed by the lovely seared scallops. All in all a lovely evening.

Old School with fresh seafood and updated cuisine

By plm54 |

Shuckers is located in the Fairmont Hotel, one of the older and well appointed hotels in Seattle. We had a great lunch consisting of local oysters (nicely flavored with lemon alone), Dungeness crab cocktail (subtle flavor) and we each had salmon sandwiches; standard salmon BLT and the chef special of cajun spiced salmon BLT. Both excellent, and really not needing the bacon. The decor is old school leather chairs with wooden tables. Ceiling is either tin or faux tin patterned. This would be a nice place for dinner. Can't beat fresh seafood.

Good

By Tim B |

Had high expectations from other reviews. Food was good but expensive, and portions small. Fish and chips 2 4 inch pieces for $28. Good, crispy and tasty. Scallops were tender only seared on 1 side. Shrimp cocktail fantastic! 6 very tasty shrimp. Service good, decor very cool. Probably would look for other places to try.

Lovely restaurant with wonderful food

By hernse1 |

The restaurant is in the classic Fairmont Olympic Hotel, and has an antique vibe. The menu is seafood oriented, but does offer a few other options for those not wanting seafood. The items we selected where delicious and prepared to accomodate my dietary restrictions. Our server, Rishi, was very helpful, friendly and attentive despite the busy evening. I would certainly return, and would look forward to trying their various baked oysters because the one we sampled (the Olympic) was excellent.

Amazing food

By Kakyak |

I was in town for a week and ended up coming back a second time it was so good. Ate at the bar the first time and had the seafood soup. It was amazing!!! Red base full of salmon, fish, shrimp, veggies. It was so good that when I ended up back there for a business dinner two nights later I had it again. My friends said the mussels were amazing. Then we got dessert and the blackberry pie maybe the best I have ever tasted. Worth every calorie. Great place.

Fresh seafood and great servie

By BigA804 |

Nice variety of oysters on the half shell and good selection of seafood entrees. The scallops were seared to perfection and complimented the risotto very well . Service was outstanding.

Expensive for Just OK Food

By mzap444 |

Thought this was going to be much better than it was. The food was pricey, which is ok if it was worth it. I had the steak and it lacked flavor, my mom had the salmon and it was dry. Her husband had the fish and chips and that was GOOD and probably the only thing I would recommend ordering.

The best Fried Chicken I've ever had IN MY 70 YEARS

By DADeetz |

This restaurant is attached to the Fairmont Olympic Hotel. Wonderful decor, beautiful woodwork, excellent service and the Fried Chicken was out of this world, and really reasonable. Delightful place to spend an evening, nothing negative to say.

Above Average

By ZephyrFreeway |

This restaurant is next to the Fairmont Hotel. Ask for the window seat with a view of the water...a very cozy spot. The menu is extensive and is center on seafood. Pay attention to the salads though...delicious seafood salad that's large enough to share. The crab cakes were acceptable... flavorful but the quality of the crab was just ok. Comfortable seating, excellent service and a subdued dining atmosphere. We had early reservations and by 7 the restaurant was full

Must try restaurant

By Natalia A |

Very pleasant restaurant, warm and friendly ambiance. Staff is professional, and lovely. I had swordfish with mash potatoes and it was fabulous, and the blue and black tart that they have it on menu since 1990 ties. The building itself has history, the chandeliers in the restaurant are 99 years. A must try restaurant for anyone visiting PNW.

Delicious lunch and oysters

By Patricia V |

Had lunch at Shuckers after arriving at Fairmount Hotel on a Thursday. The service was smashing - and so was the food. A glass of wine, grilled four cheese sandwich ad huge bowl of hot clam chowder - my partner had the seafood chowder all absolutely excellent, especially after a long plane trip. Atmosphere wonderful. Came back next day for the oyster happy hour Friday $2 oysters! Being from the East Coast we are prejudiced about chincoteague and PEI oysters, but the Pacific local oysters were very tasty if smaller.

Great little bar

By trevorl48 |

Warm and friendly little place. Stopped in for drinks and dessert after our dinner restaurant decided to close early. Desert was decadent, and the Scotch flight was great deal.

Amazing oysters and great service

By Samir Kasmi |

Great food, warm atmosphere and very good service. Oysters were very fresh, risotto with scallops also highly recommended.

Nice happy hour

By Portiany |

We had the oysters at happy hour to start which were good. Then Brussels sprouts which were amazing. Crab cakes were good too.

Satisfying meal.

By Jonathan P |

Excellent as always. It’s difficult to understand why a handful of reviewers posted negative reviews. Like virtually everyone else who has posted a review of this restaurant we were impressed with the dining room, the service staff, and the food. The restaurant was full, but not noisy. Two of us had steelhead, which was grilled to perfection. Two of us had scallops, which were seared and moist. There are always new restaurants to try, but long-established restaurants like Shuckers have thrived for a reason. It’s good.

Great!

By Dan H |

We took a quick stop before dinner. We had great drinks, great service, and amazing oysters! The venue is great and we can't wait to go back.

Pricey for my taste...

By CINDYROSE720 |

2019 Feb, 8pm, party of 2. We uber'ed going here so we didn't have problems with parking. The restaurant is inside Fairmont Hotel. The architecture was really neat! We had reservations, so we were seated as soon as we got there. Our server, Jelena, was prompt and courteous. The food was ok. Nothing extraordinary. 1 appetizer, 1 dessert, 1 soda, 1hot chocolate, 2 dinner entrees, $122 (not including tip). If this review helped you in any way please give it a thumbs up!

Mmm oysters

By Bryan N |

Since we were staying at the Fairmont, we thought this would be a great dinner place. The oysters were good, I wish our server was a little more descriptive and helpful when recommending oysters. I stated I wasn’t sure which I wanted and the server at the next table went into detail about the oysters to her table and my guy was just like blank. Our table got the halibut and chips, the salmon and I got the dinner portion Caesar salad and the crab Mac and cheese. Our server forgot to put in my order for the Mac and cheese, so I had to remind him and then at that point I was getting full from the salad so I cancelled the Mac. Overall the food was good if a tad on the pricey side but nothing too extreme. Their specialty cocktails were just okay as well.

My new favorite seafood restaurant in Seattle.

By MalibuMum |

Americana seafood doesn't sound very exciting but when done well, it is so very satisfying. We just had a flawless meal at Shuckers. Even my drink was perfectly mixed and served. I only wish I came here sooner.

Our favorite FISH PLACE in Seattle

This culinary delight has been a long-time family favorite. The variety of choices is super....fish dishes are their speciality. Ambiance is terrific, not too many seats so reservations are recommended.

Delicious fresh fish, great cocktails, fantastic Oysters! I highly recommend Shuckers Oyster Bar when in Seattle. Try and get a seat at the bar!

One word - Amazing

Fabulous atmosphere - dark wood and very romantic. The food was even better than the atmosphere. We shared three kinds of oysters, Dungeness crab cakes and a seafood Caesar salad. Great staff too!

Beautiful room, nice wines by glass and great seafood

Really beautiful room. We enjoyed the halibut and king salmon. Both tasted fresh and were well prepared. The sour dough bread was good too. And our waiter was very attentive.

Excellent service. Very friendly and attentive waiter. Raw oysters were very fresh and flavorful. Fried oysters and steamed mussels were perfect. Great sourdough bread as well. To stuffed for desert but the selection was nice. Not cheap but well priced for the area. Nice ambience.

Nice Seafood Restaurant

Shuckers is in the heart of downtown. It has the look of an old time bar, and is pretty quiet. The food was very good, and my cocktail was strong. Service was friendly and pretty quick.

Just good seafood!

Really good food in brilliant surroundings with first class service. The Black Cod was beyond perfect and the Halibut was the same; fresh, moist, well prepared and as good as you’ll find anywhere.

Terrific dinner out with friends. The food was amazing. Had the king salmon and steak and some crème brûlée to top to off. Really good and service was top notch.

We enjoyed Shuckers at the Olympic Hotel so much, we ate there two days in a row! Great menu, great location and friendly, professional service. We were last at the restaurant 20 years ago. What a treat to come back.

Amazing oysters!

I have been to a lot of oyster bars, but this was by far my favorite! So many different variations of prepared oysters. And the ambiance was very nice as well. Maybe it was because it was a rare sunny day in Seattle. Will be back soon!! :)
