Nothing special about this place. Perhaps it is just my opinion as a hard core foodie that travels everywhere monthly for food. Larb gai....awful Pad woon sen...ok Three flavored fish...excellent Fried chicken with pineapple puree...dry and awful With groupon...its worth going. Otherwise...not at all

My friends and I come here very often for lunch and it has never failed us. The service is always quick and efficient, while still maintaining the quality of the food. The vegetarian spring rolls are great here, as is the tom-yum soup hot pot. My favorite main courses here, are the panang curry with veggies and the drunken noodles with tofu. The prices here are very reasonable.

Nice big table with comfortable roomy seating. Pleasant young staff. Nice concise well priced wine list excellent Oregon riesling. All dishes were good. The fish is frozen but well prepared. Very large offering of dishes with a, new to me, vegetarian duck made from tofu which was excellent. Noise level very low conducive to conversation without screaming. A welcome respite. A place for all ages, would definitely return.

This place is so good, the food is outstanding! Would absolutely recommend. The restaurant is nicely decorated and staff is friendly!

I have eaten at Siam Nara several times over the past 3 years, usually because of a blended family event and its centralized location. We ate at Siam Nara two nights ago for dinner and it was again, NOT a memorable experience and I really have no plans to return. I have been going to Thailand since the early 1990's and believe that I speak from experience on what is exceptional Thai cuisine and service and hospitality. YES, I understand that at most Thai restaurants, no matter what you order, . . . . . often the food comes out in unexpected order, as it is made. I will admit that the restaurant is beautifully decorated in the Thai tradition. The food is good, but, NOT exceptional or memorable and they tend to over spice their dishes -- I typically order between a 6 to 8 in spiciness at the local Thai restaurants, but at Siam Nara, I ordered my favorite appetizer, Larb (pork) as a 3-4 in spiciness to share and it was delivered at an 7-8 spiciness -- good for me, but not palatable to my fellow diners. What I really find unacceptable is the service -- I always feel like I am NOT the welcome guest at Siam Nara but the source of work for the staff. I feel like the answer "NO" is preferred to "NO PROBLEM." There is no genuine Thai hospitality at Siam Nara. And always after you get your food, trying to refills on drinks and your bill is a challenge. I compare the hospitality of Siam Nara to Thai Society in Encinitas where the owner, Kay, is always out and welcoming guests -- she makes you feel welcomed and appreciated and the staff is constantly attentive. Also, I think Siam Nara's food is overly expensive. Last night, we ordered two dishes -- shrimp Pad Thai and pork Larb appetizer with a side of rice. We drank water. The bill was $30 with tax and tip. Seriously? And, the air conditioner was not on or working; I am not sure if it was a cost saving measure or if the AC was broken. In other Thai restaurants, the owner would have come by and apologized. AT Siam Nara, there was no mention of the problem -- again, like a "take it or leave it" attitude.

I was in San Diego visiting family and my brother knows I love thai food so him and his wife took us to this restaurant. They have been living in San Diego for about a year now and had tried a few different thai places before a friend recommended them try Siam Nara and now they are hooked! The food was great!....so was the atmoshere. We went on a Thursday night and the restaurant was full. We got a table right away although the table service did lag some, but the servings were plentiful, the soups were nice and hot, and everything was seasoned well and fresh. It is a bit pricey but the food is well worth it!

I love Thai food. San Diego has a few good ones, but I did not know about this one till couple of months back. Since then I have been there twice and both times it was excellent. The food was excellent, the service very good and the decor very nice. I am glad they opened up this branch closer to home.

Had the salmon with avocado sauce unbelievable. And the curry with tofu and vegetables super. Well seasoned. Spring rolls with peanut sauce excellent. Love the food service.a gem.

I have been to this place several times in the past and wanted to give it a try again. It is a nice Thai restaurant with good selection of entrees. You have a choice of mild, medium or real hot food. Most entrees come with a big bowl of rice. Food is delicious and ambiance is good. Plenty of parking around because it is in a shopping mall.

This is an absolute FIND in a strip mall. The restaurant is lovely on the inside with tasteful decor. Service was prompt. We arrived on the early side with no reservations. We were lucky we got a table, given all the reserved tables. Soon after we arrived, the restaurant was filled. We ordered a pot Tom Yum soup to start. It was DELICIOUS! Nicely presented in a hot pot. For dinner I ordered the salmon curry. Again, DELICIOUS! We were so pleasantly surprised with the quality and quantity of food. I couldn't finds my dish and needed to take it with me. Their steamed brown rice was delicious too! I highly recommend this place. We were pleasantly surprised and will most definitely be back!

Best thai food I had in San Diego.Always hot, delicious and very affordable. The chef of this place had golden fork awards for best food.Food is amazing! You can get popular Thai food and unique cuisines from chef. They also have a vegan menu, yummy!!.If they can have more paper napkins will be great!! Service is great, very attentive and smiling. One time I called 20 min, before they was getting close, and still was welcome to come and had a dinner.

Me and my friend picked Siam Nara for evening dinner and it was just superb ... The service was fast and food was fresh & hot .. The decor is beautiful and cleanliness is good. Staff is helpful and provide good suggestions.. waiting for next visit...a definate winner.

I have tried most of the Thai restaurants around the area and this is by far the best. I have been going here for the last 5 years and the food and service is always good. Their pad Thai is great as are their curries. They have great lunch specials. Their Thai ice tee is great and they always have good wine available. Best of all make sure sure to finish off your meal with their mango and sticky rice!

Located in a strip mall in Mira Mesa, this place is very nicely decorated. I've been here several times and the food was always pretty good. I went out with a friend for lunch. She ordered a green curry dish and I my favorite Pad Thai. The noodle was over cooked and the beef looked like some one could care less how the meat was chopped. The presentation alone was not appetizing already. My friends dish did not fare well either. The waitress was very nice...unfortunately, she could not cover up for the fact that the chef was mediocre.

Thai restaurants tend to be places the customers pretty much eat the same items no matter where they go. So, they compare what they usually eat. Thai cuisine is very diverse. This is an adventurous food. Since they have very fine cooks in the kitchen this a great place to something new. Six of us ate ten dishes that were all delicious. The request on the heat level went from 1-10. Our 7 and 9 request were not very hot. Curries were very good. Service got spotty were the place filled up. The decor is extra nice. Prices seemed very fair to us. This was our second trip to this very nice stop. We will return on our next trip from Montana. YUM

We love Thai food and have tried most of the Thai restaurants in IB. This was the last one, and we so wanted to like it. The curries are wonderful; we ordered tofu with all of them, as we are vegan. I returned a second time and said how much we appreciate the vegetarian options. The server was very honest and let us know the curries were all shrimp based, thinking that was vegetarian. Not only is it not vegetarian, it is not kosher. I gave Siam's a 4-star for their flavor, service, and selection. They are not at error because their menu does not suit me.

The curry was excellent, the tom-kah soup was piping hot. The only drawback wsa that the portion per plate was small.

Very delicious thai food, cook for thai chefs. Many options in the menu for everyone and with different grades for the spicy ones. The dishes have options for the protein (chicken, beef, pork, shrimp, tofu, vegetables) and they vary on the price. You can order a thai beer of you want.

It has wide menu and food is nice. We are vegeterain but didnot found any problem. Food was tasty. Worth visiting again.

Came in to eat at around 19:30 (7:30pm) on June 13, 2017. I was asked to sign the waitlist for a party of five people. Got seated about 5 minutes later. They provided us 2 jars of water with 5 nice cup (which most people use it for wine). The service was a little longer than usual since it was busy. One of my friends got very cranky, but it went away after 5 minutes when the server placed our order. One interesting thing about this restaurant is that they used a tablet instead of writing it down. After 10-15 minutes, we got our orders. I ordered the Pad Thai with beef. The food was great. I liked the noodles. I have not eaten this dish in a long while, but the portions seemed a little smaller than in the past. My friends did not complain about their food either except for the portion and service, which was a bit slow. Therefore I give 4 stars.

Two of the most important things for me to give Siam Nara suck a good rating is that the food is 100% authentic and fabulous. That alone would be enough for me to continue to go back again and again. This place is also nicely maintained, the staff is always pleasant and attentive, the decor is nice as well and best yet this place is reasonably priced. Now how can I say this is the best well I think I have tried about every Thai restaurant in the area and there are quite a few. I have stopped trying other places and only eat Thai here. Their curries are exceptional and their Pad Thai is amazing. Last but not least the seafood is always fresh.

Great menu selections - service tended to lag - the food was good. The biggest drawback was the price - maybe it's the norm for the area but it seemed a little pricey for what you get.

Nothing special here. Have visited many times, I never look forward to going back. The food is average. The service is average. They do not offer a kids menu. They automatically add gratuity when we visit as a family.

This place is always very busy, lovely ambience and can be noisy. Friday or Saturday nights service can be slow. Food is delicious.

this thai rest is very presentable and cozy once your inside the place. i love all their food. excellent chef and artistic presentation. yummy curry dishes. i recommend the dessert FBI. prices are great too. and fyi they have deals on groupon right now.

I'm a fan of Thai food and this one in particular is one of the best for me. Food is fresh and the wait for food has been fairly quick on all my visits. I will surely be coming back.

Lovely place for excellent Thai food. We shared the whole fish this time which was fabulous. Other visits for curry were equally delicious. You can't go wrong eating her. Ambience is pleasant. Service very good.

Being not a regular Thai food connoisseur, we needed help in deciding on the menu. The waiter was least helpful in giving us more details of the food. Soup pot was served with 1 less soup bowl. When we requested for an additional soup bowl, they took their time to get it. It was given without an extra soup spoon! Had to manage with available cutlery. Overall, the service was a real let down and I would not want to go back again.

We ordered pad thai and drunken noodles. The noodles were much too garlicky and pad thai that was ordered was mild, fairly bland. Hot sauces were placed on table, but not identified.

Good was good. Service was very average as staff was more interested in take out customers. We ordered the an appetizer, yellow curry and Dan Dan noodles- which were all made to our specifications.

We stopped here for lunch on our way to San Diego. We were looking for some Thai food. Very authentic food and upscale atmosphere particularly for the price. We really enjoyed it and Definitely will be back. Food was really good, service was on point and friendly.

Great service and really good food! The outside doesn’t do this place justice. Inside is beautiful and spacious. He fried avocado appetizer was delicious. Worth a visit.

Went in for dessert after having dinner at the Vietnamese restaurant next door. Interior was beautifully designed. We had the sticky rice with mango - delicious. I would have eaten another order if I could! Staff was friendly and had no difficulties with us coming in for dessert only. Can't wait to go back and try other dishes on the menu!

I never knew this place existed until our kids told us about it. It's in a strip mall and somewhat hidden. I ordered the crab fried rice and pad thai. Both was excellent. Desserts are all awesome. Creme Brûlée the best. Love the sticky rice :) I previously ordered the garlic salmon fried rice and that also is one of my favorites but don't let the picture fool you. The salmon doesn't come in big chunks. It's somewhat crushed. It's not presented like the picture at all. The first time I had it, the garlic was mild. Just the right taste added. The second time it was too much. It just taste like they added 10 cloves to it. Make sure you let them know you want the garlic taste mild. Overall food good but overpriced for the portions.

We ordered take out from Siam Nara this month and the food was pretty good. We got the Drunken Noodles since people recommended it on another website. It was good but we werent expecting how spicy it would be. Thankfully I like spicy food but it was still a little bit of a shock. We also got the Pad Thai which was standard, nothing special. If we had to choose a thai place in Mira Mesa, this one seems to be a good bet. It's not an excellent vote for me just cause ive had better at other places but it was still good. From my brief time in the restaurant, they had nice decor and nice people at the front desk.

We visited 6 people and tried a variety of dishes. Everything was fresh , authentic and tasty. Lovely design , great service !

Had dinner during a business trip on a Wednesday evening and the food was wonderful. Had Thai ice tea as a drink to start and it was served promptly and was rich with generous cream, sweetened just right-a perfect complement to the meal. Nice that they have big carafes of ice cold water at each table to keep the "heat" of the main course at bay. The waiter was a very pleasant fellow and suggested the red curry seafood. They rate the desired "spice index" on a scale of 1-10, which is nice compared to the 1-4 scale typically used in most other places. I settled on a "7" which was just the right amount of heat for my mood and desired taste. The curry was served piping hot in a brass bowl atop it's own flame to keep it hot (sterno perhaps?). The curry sauce was boiling but everything stayed hot without burning, which was really a nice touch. Large spoons were provided for both the rice and main dish. The curry was very flavorful and tasty. Generous pieces of shrimp, mussels, scallops, and squid with fresh red and green peppers, water chestnut pieces, etc. It was all very delicious. White rice was cooked perfectly and I ate it all. Then I decided on "Bananarama" for dessert, which was four sliced egg roll sections with fresh banana pieces inside, drizzled with caramel and a scoop of vanilla ice cream (coconut can be substituted for $2 extra if desired). The dessert was yummy, and it would be perfect to share between 2 people. All in all, a very pleasant dining experience. Generous portions, delicious food, friendly prompt service, and excellent value for the price. I highly recommend this restaurant for dinner!

We were in a neighborhood we rarely go to and were looking for a place to eat. My partner loves Thai food and we came upon this restaurant in a something-to-be-desired shopping area. When we looked in we immediately noticed the lovely decor - lots of Thai gold decorations. We looked at the menu and saw dishes we usually don't see on a Thai menu. I had a rice dish I'd never had before with chicken and some vegetables. The sauce was soy-based and had oyster sauce, garlic, and sugar in it. Very tasty!!! The service is very good. I would go back when in the neighborhood again.

Dont order the Pad Thai with beef. You may have an unexpected visit in the bathroom in the middle of the night. Good luck here.

Here has the best Thai food in the town. They provide many different kind of Thai food that you won't find it in others Thai restaurant in San Diego. Every I very miss Thai food, I will come here.

Great food ambiance service andvery friendly staff Owner even help in selecting entree.Don't miss the red snapper entree!

went for dinner with friends, was a decently big group. soups were awesome and so was the food and ambience. only thing is that we were recommended 1 main dish per person when asked for the serving size, ordered 2 less, but still ended up leaving quite a bit of food. on the taste side, perhaps the best Thai food i have had so far!!

I visited twice this last week and was impressed both times. First was a large party of 17 and tough to please - not even one whine. It was a good sampling of the menu. They handled it flawlessly. They have it all together service, food, ambience, and friendly atmosphere Food is very good and the selection superb - separate menu for papaya salad, vegetarian dishes, seafood dishes and the main menu. It not the finest Thai around but very good much better than the majority. Second visit was with my wife who is tough to please. Note I drove over 30 miles there from my home to have her check it out. I like hot and my wife not. She got a papaya salad that was way hot (we were not asked heat level for the salad, next time I'll make sure). I got a fried rice with minced pork (ok I fancied it) asked for a 7 and it came out milder than the salad. My wife had a ginger dish (memory lapse) that she decorated with tofu - I made a note to get it next time with some animal protein. Portion sizes were fair. About $50 for 2 drinks and 2 entrees and 1 salad. I'll be back. Recommend anyone try it but I particularly commend it to vegetarians. My good buddy Ashish goes there all the time. Takes Passport card - if you know what that is.

Had the lunch special, red curry with chicken. If was excellent! Have been going here for lunch since they opened and the place has always been consistent in terms of food and service. The inside is always well kept and the staff are always friendly. Cant beat the location, price, and food.

First time experience, great atmostphere, quality and quantity of food was fantastic. Looking forward to going again.

The ambiance, staff, & food (not in any order) make this Thai restaurant a great place to visit. This place is associated with Amarin in Hillcrest so you know this place serves food that will not disappoint your taste buds. The last time here, I normally order, on a scale of Thai hot, a 5 but asked for a 7 with spices on the side. I didn't need the spices on the side since the 7 was clearly hot enough. I normally order green curry with chicken while the wife orders pad see yu, but we have gone off our normal course here since we need to expand our Thai taste buds, since all of the food here is great. They also have a huge selection of wines. This restaurant is slowly becoming my #1 Thai restaurant in San Diego. It definitely will not disappoint if you love Thai food......

HIgher end Thai food. The ambiance is a little nicer, the service is a little better, the food is very good, but the prices are also a little higher. Tried many different dishes. They were all good.

I love their food. I haven't tasted any bad order. I enjoy their pork larb, massaman curry, panang, pad thai, pad woonsen, etc. My fave is the seasonal mango and sweet rice. Check this place out if you're in mira mesa

Dined in on a late weekday and the place was perfect for a casual dinner. Tasty tamarined fish, seafood hot pot, and spicy papaya salad (all my favorites). Tried the fried banana with coconut ice cream even not a fan of sweet treat. :) One recommendation for the server: don't bring all dishes out at once bc the soup got cold after a while. Certainly recommend it to others who live in North County and don't want to drive all the way to Convoy International district.

I used to work around Mira Mesa, therefore Siam Nara was a place I originally discovered through work colleagues. It has one of the best Thai foods I have ever tasted. On top of that, the service is excellent and timely even when they are really busy. This is the kind of place to have a business lunch but also the type to have a proper date. I normally prefer to go to Siam Nara because their vegan/vegetarian food is superb. Prices are reasonable, too.

Four of us went to dinner and each had a different entree. All were delicious. My favorite is the chicken Pad Thai noodles. My husband had the duck special and our friends had the mango red curry and seafood Pad Thai noddles. Service was excellent. We had a reservation which I would highly recommend. This was the first time we went for dinner but have eaten lunch there at least six or more times. The food is reasonably priced. My only issue was with my husband who sprinkled some hot pepper from the little condiment tray on the sweet potatoes. They were way too hot for me. Be careful with those condiments!! They ask what temperature of flavor you want your food. I go with the medium level.

We ordered out from Siam Nara recently and thought that the food was good but nothing special. We asked over the phone how many people an order of each dish feeds. They said it just fed one person, so we ordered quite a bit and got too much food. The food was good, but nothing special. The Massaman wasn't as good as other places we have eaten and it was quite different than what we usually get when we order that dish. The Pad Thai was quite good.

Our niece and her husband who live in San diego chose this restuarant for a family dinner. We were impressed with the elegant decor and large selection of items. the food when served was delicious. I would rate the food and service as one of the best Thai restuarants that we have eaten at. We will definitely return when we visit our family that lives in the San Diego area..

We came with a friend that was in town on a Friday. The place was packed, food was delicious but my go to is the Mango and Sticky Rice desert. It is a must have. For diabetics like myself it is worth the insulin shot.

This place is great you definitely need to try it. But keep in mind when they say spicy they really mean spicy!

Our daughter recommended this restaurant for dinner. We were not dissappointed. The Panang Chicken was the BEST I have ever had! My wife had Garlic Salmon Thai Fried Rice which was very flavorful and was a spot on 5 spiciness as requested. Would definitely eat here again!

We were all vegetarians and wanted to taste Thai food and opted for this restaurant as they serve pure vegetarian stuff in San Diego. The quality of food was good. It seemed a little different for me as I have tasted a few recipes in Thailand and India. The ambience was nice for dining. The service could have been a little better.

We usually find that a well-maintained washroom indicates attention to cleanliness in the kitchen. Our first impression of Siam Nara Thai was that the dining area was maintained with pride. Its gold-painted wood carvings matched gold-painted elephant heads and the prows of Thai royal barges. There was seating for everyone's taste: outside seating, large inside tables, and booths--with social distancing. For lunch we ordered fried tahu and prawns with tamarind sauce, and mango sticky rice for dessert. The two servers were very friendly and efficient. We feel Siam Nara Thai Cuisine is an excellent value.

The restaurant looks really nice and I looked forward to my meal. Unfortunately, the food was bland. The waiter did not ask about the spice level, so I assumed to food would be spicy; after all, this is a Thai restaurant. The food, however, was not spicy at all. This is not how Thai food is supposed to taste. I have never before had a Som Tam that was not spicy. In addition, the beef (Weeping Tiger) was overcooked (almost well done). Again, the waiter did not ask how I wanted my beef cooked. With a few changes this could have been a nice meal. If only the waiter had communicated better and asked about our preferences.

This is a golden nugget find in Mira Mesa. This Thai restaurant is tucked away in a strip mall, but upon opening the doors it takes you into Thailand with golden wall panels and perfectly designed Thai dishware/serving sets on each table. The servers are dressed in authentic Thai dress, and are oh so polite, welcoming, kind. The restaurant itself is medium in size for this slightly older strip mall. Their lunch specials are generous in portion, and the noodles are very tasty. I tried both the Pad Thai noodles lunch special (shrimp) and the fried fish off the regular restaurant menu. I gave both of these dishes 5-stars for taste and presentation. Really good and you won't want to choose between the two....I took some home for lunch the next day because of the most generous lunch portion. You can get in and out of here in an hour, but you won't want to leave before trying the Sweet Rice and Mango dessert. Heavenly, and I'm still floating on the taste alone. Highly recommended and a must-try at this Thai restaurant.

Their food is better than average and volume is good too. Taste better than Spicy thai at Mira Mesa as well. However, the time you have to wait during lunch time is terrible. At least 30 mins if you go there after 12:15. We tried different day during the week, still the same. So if you want to enjoy their food, absolutely go before noon to get a seat. Not sure why. It should not be that packed at that location. Their pad thai is good. An alternative would be the Pho next to it but they are not as good as Pho Cali at the black mountain road but if you get so disappointed by the 30 mins wait, try the Pho next door.

Food was good, not quite great, but very close. I just love the menu, so many choices that all sound amazing. I had a rad pao chicken fried rice dish...amazing flavors, didn't care for the consistency of the chicken...kind of overcooked ground. I would try it again for sure.
Really Good Thai Food!
I love Thai food and visiting from Hawaii our baseball team was in the mood for Thai close to the hotel. They were able to accommodate a party of 30 on a 2 hour notice, I loved that! Interior of the restaurant was really clean and pretty fancy. Everything we ordered was really good! pad thai, curries, fried rice, peanut chicken (kids loved this), fried chicken wings (kids loved this too), I also ordered a steak dish that was good and the presentation was really cool! The service was great and I recommend this Thai restaurant, very good! This place is good for groups as well as a couple because they also have booths you can eat eat.
