Great time with friends in a Friday night. Zita, John and Harold took great care out us. Excellent service by all. We will be back. Great drinks.

This is a very well run restaurant. Patrick and his team know how to exceed expectations. Recommend for business and/or family.

I don't remember what I had. I do remember how much it cost. I will gladly pay for good food. This was not worth the cost.

The ambiance is stunning, this is an elegant and vibrant setting!! We ordered appetizers, the pork belly and chicken fried oysters. The oysters stole the show and I understand why they are famous here. They were juicy and delicious! We also ordered the spinach salad and a wedge salad, both really good. I'm not sure I'm a huge fan of the fried brie in the spinach salad, though. My husband had the salmon entree and it was cooked perfectly. I had sauteed shrimp, again, it was perfect and delicious. Our server also recommended an excellent bottle of wine. We loved everything about this restaurant and our service was impeccable!

Went with our dear friends to celebrate a small birthday dinner last night. It was as great as ever. Everyone loved their meal. I had the scallops, perfectly cooked with vegetarian risotto. Several of my friends had the lamb special. They all raved about how perfectly cooked and seasoned the lamb was. Also, one friend had the grouper special entree.....could have shared as it was a large portion. As always, the chicken fried oysters are ordered as the appetizer. Even those that don't like oysters would love these! I did notice it was busy with a very young, vibrant crowd...I am sure that the fact Luca Della Casa was voted runner up of Food Network Star has revitalized and re-energized this great restaurant. The treat was that Luca came by the table to ask how our meal was. He is a talent and should have been the new Food Network Star. Watch for him! He is a great chef and has star power! I was just thrilled to meet him! Go to Silo....it is a place to dine and enjoy!

We utilized the private dining area of our wedding dinner for our micro wedding of approximately 50 guests. It is difficult to describe just how GOOD the food was. EVERY dish was excellent and we continue (even 3 weeks later) to get compliments on the food. We had the opportunity to work with a coordinator prior to the event. Robin was super responsive and answered every imaginable question we had. The host from Silo called a few days before the event to, not only confirm the head count, but also identify what kind of music we preferred to have playing in the restaurant and even inquired as to my husband and I's favorite beverages. Upon arrival to deliver some items for the gift table, we discovered that the tables had not been set up yet. (our wedding was in late evening) The staff assured me that the table would be set up beautifully and even asked if I had any request for how all items should be laid out. Thank Goodness for Phillip Laperruque!!! When we arrived the table looked just spectacular. He did such a wonderful job with the table and making sure the entire event went smoothly. All of the servers made sure our glasses were always full and each was exceptionally kind. This was an exceptional experience!!!

Loved the place and service, the big Texan drinks. Excellent food, an amazingly good risotto al dente, and where the fresh vegetables delicate taste still came through, many appetizers and everything tasted deliciously good. The sommelier brought out a couple of excellent wines that paired well with the food. Thought it was going to be a pretentious place, turned out to be a must go place when in San Antonio

I rated this restaurant as one of the best meals I've had. From the food to the waiter (Barney) to the wine (check the selection WOW!) to the ambiance - everything was fantastic. I had the pork shank and had plenty to eat. My wife had the sea scallops and they were just as delicious. The restaurant was quiet and subdued and a nice place to get dressed up and have a very nice dinner. I wouldn't bring my small children to the restaurant, as I didn't see much on the menu for kids. It seems a slighter older group of people. The meal for two with drinks and an appetizer was $120 (as of 4/2014).

Our son took us to Silo for our anniversary. The retro, modern decor was fun and getting to the restaurant via an elevator was a surprise. The soup special was corn seafood chowder. It was beautifully seasoned and served in an elegant bowl, garnished with fresh herbs. I ordered the seared scallop maque choux--a Cajun-inspired dish. There were four huge scallops, cooked to perfection, served over the corn/cheese mixture. The portions were large and beautifully presented. My husband had the redfish special. It was fresh-caught, blackened, and spicy--maybe too spicy for a mild fish. It came with rice and vegetables. The server was very personable and efficient, but sometimes seemed to disappear. We appreciated our son's providing this special evening.

Great for dates. Great food. Nice bar. Pool room. Patio seating. Good entertainment. The duck is excellent! !

This is a cool place to enjoy. Lots of food variety. Very nice place. Only drawback is it's a little expensive but it's a nice place to take the family. Good stuff. Well done.

Our meal here easily ranked in the top 10 of all our travels – and that’s saying something! My wife ordered the pan seared sea scallops ($36) and was thrilled with her choice. Her plate consisted of 4 ginormous scallops atop a cauliflower puree with sugar snap peas on the side. I chose the grilled beef tenderloin over a bed of buttermilk-chive mashed potatoes and jumbo asparagus with a cognac mushroom cream sauce ($39). The filet was perfectly prepared and complemented beautifully by the sides. The restaurant also has an extensive wine list and offers a prix fixe menu until 6:30pm with 5 entrée options and choice of 3 salads or dessert (add just $3 and get both choice of salad and dessert to complement your entrée selection). Tips: There are multiple dining options at this address; Nosh (more casual dining) fronts Austin Highway while the parking and entrance for Silo is around back. Silo is on the OpenTable system for reservations and if you can score a Groupon, the savings can be significant.

We had four of us go to the restaurant with a Groupon Coupon; the waiter (Barney) was great at explaining everything and providing GREAT Service. He didn't try to push anything; but, guaranteed everything would be Outstanding. He was Right! Everything was OUTSTANDING; the Traditional Chicken Fried Oysters appetizers, the Martini and all four dishes were Awesome. The Raisin and bread pudding was a Huge success with our wives. We've been doing these dinners for quite sometime as friends; but, this was the VERY BEST and MOST TLAKED About meal we've EVER had! Thank you very much; we're already planning our next visit!

Absolutely first class menu presented for New Year's Eve at the Austin Highway location. Food was exceptional. The only issue was the snippy females who assigned our dining table...they need intense customer service training and oversight as well as an attitude adjustment program.

We dined at Silo on a quiet Monday evening. Our server Brenden was fun, informative and entertaining. He guided us in our selections, recommending the grouper special and the pork shank. Both were delectable! The grouper was topped with a generous amount of lump crab and a delicious lemon butter sauce. The pork shank was perfectly cooked and very moist and tender. Portions were generous - we were stuffed so no dessert for us. It was happy hour in the bar when we arrived and the cute bartender makes a mean Moscow mule. I highly recommend this lovely restaurant.

Well, three of us ordered the avocado gazpacho and we all agreed, too salty. The staff was wonderful in clearing the bowls off the table and apologizing. We also had the foi gras appetizer, but there was too much sweet sauce on the bottom of the plate, overkill. The scallops were fabulous, but the signature oysters were a bit dry and boring this trip.. dern. Service was impeccable, manager terrific and we will always come back. (One other tiny complaint was that the the comfortable chairs at the bar downstairs were all reserved for a wedding party at 8:00, but we wanted a cocktail before our 7:45 reservations and did not want to sit at the uncomfortable bar stools.. We were allowed to grab a few comfy chairs until escorted upstairs for our dinner.) Enjoy!

quiet, unobtrusive, elegant - that is how i think of the Silo. It may not be buzzing with loud music and lots of traffic but it is one of the best locations to meet for a lunch where business can be discussed, where waiters are not hovering and where the lunch menu has not disappointed - my very favorite upscale restaurant in the neighborhood!!

We enjoyed a lovely dinner at Silo on Austin Highway for our anniversary. Food was excellent as was the service. Highly recommend - one of our absolute favorites in San Antonio! You will not be disappointed. Great for special occasions but also affordable enough for anytime - lunch, brunch or dinner.

We love going to Silo in Alamo Heights, we always have a great meal. We took my mother for her 90th birthday and she loved it.

Fabulous! We had a group of seven and the service was attentive but not intrusive. Oh yea- and the food- without a doubt the best scallops I've ever had! There were a variety of entrees ordered and everyone said they were great. You won't Be disappointed. Enjoy

I was part of a large group who stopped in for dinner at the request of a friend who played golf with the chef. The meal was great and the company was great. The atmosphere in the large dining room is a little stark, but not a distraction. I'll easily return the next time I'm in SA.

I normally visit the 1604 Silo location, but ended up purchasing a groupon, so I thought I'd go back to the Silo's - Austin Hwy location. It was very good, although I miss the open and brighter ambiance at the 1604 location. The food was excellent and the service was good, not excellent, but good. And, not that you have to get dressed up to go to Silo's, but I was surprised at the amount of people that dressed so casually here. I'm a repeat customer of Silo's, but I'll stick to the 1604 location.

We heard mixed reviews about Silo but we thought we give it a try. The ambient was nice and service was pleasant and consistent from all the staff. The menu is appealing and appetizing. For appetizers, we ordered razor clams, calamari and crab cake. For dinner, we ordered roasted chicken, ribeye steak, and shrimp and grits. Overall, the seafood and the steak were all over cooked. The clams and calamari was too chewy. The flavors were on point but the preparation and execution was a bit off. The reason I’m giving a 3 instead of a 4 is we were a bit disappointed with the food. We’re definitely not a food snob but for a regular diner, I could tell the difference. And for the price you pay, you would expect better execution from the kitchen. Not sure if I would come back to this specific location. Perhaps the other Silo would be better.

Several of us wanted a first-rate dining experience and we chose this wonderful restaurant. We were provided valet parking on arrival. We entered the building and rode an elevator to this second-floor gem. Our reserved table waited and our waiter was quickly taking drink orders. She was first-rate, professional and knowledgeable. She brought drinks and the offered specials and also informed us that because of Hurricane Harvey their famous fried oysters were not available. This made me change my dining choice. The menu leans toward seafood but offers poultry and meats as well. Two of us opted for the snapper special. It was excellent. We got raves from orders ranging from the crab cake to chicken breast. Folks, these meals are prepared to perfection. Salads were ala carte and excellent. None of us chose dessert. The table was cleared properly and water glasses kept filled. Our expectations were easily met. I cannot wait to dine here again.

We each loved our meals--evening special of duck breast & risotto, a tenderloin filet, shrimp & grits, and salmon and shrimp. Ambitious menu all done wonderfully. And they've got a really good bartender, liquors and wine list, smart and professional waitstaff, and the room is attractive and arranged so you can have conversations at the table, even when the room is full. We enjoyed everything about our evening there and will return. The bar downstairs is on par w the upstairs restaurant. Try either or both and you'll come back.

The restaurant is pretty, well maintained, though they could stand to increase their A/C. The food looks amazing, however, their pre-fixed menu which included salad or dessert, main entree, and a glass of wine, did not allow any adjustments. I felt this was rigid and did not serve the complete range of customers to include military personnel in uniform who cannot drink, pregnant women, etc. They were not willing to substitute for a cheaper beverage such as tea or soda. As a group of military men and women in uniform, it would seem like not too much trouble to accommodate such a simple request to substitute tea for wine. Hopefully Silo will see this as constructive criticism and adjust their future pre-fixed menus.

We saved our evening at Silo Elevayed Cuisine until our last night in SA and were not disappointed in saving " the best for last"! In addition to the prompt and courteous service from Brian our server, our selections were prepared perfectly and absolutely delicious! We all had a hard time deciding on what to choose. The signature items like the chicken fried oysters and coconut pie were a hit at our table. Our questions were answered and our needs met in every way making the evening most enjoyable and a reason to return on our next visit.

Have a happy hour drink down in the bar as you wait for your table. You must start off with the chicken fried Oysters. The lobster is always great, the lamb is cooked perfectly, medium rare and to top it off, you must finish your meal with the coconut cream pie! You get plenty of food and value for the price.

This place has a great ambiance, the staff is well trained but the food was not at the level of the restaurant. On the other hand they have a bar downstairs that is amazing and the live performance is outstanding

2 couples, including my husband and I and our best friends dined here last weekend. When we arrived aroun 8:45pm, the hostess asked if we had a reservation. When we replied that we did not, she told us "Oh no", not sure we can seat you as the restaurant is very busy and we close at 10:00pm". Hearing that made us feel very deflated but we asked her to please find out if anything was available and she told us after making a phone call upstairs that yes, a table would be ready in 10 minutes. We sat in the bar and waited for over 30 minutes for our table when we finally were seated, the first thing the waiter told us was that the kitchen closes at 10:00pm so we would need to order quickly- nothing like feeling unappreciated a 2nd time! While the food was delicious and we have dined here many times before, this last experience left us with a sour taste in our mouth. We were all wearing watches so knew what time is was and didn't need to be reminded twice about what time the restaurant closed.

I love to go to Silo in Austin Hwy because the chef is excellent and the food and service is absolutely the best! Try the sea bass with crusted Parmesan or scallop or any thing in the menus is awesomely DELICIOUS!! As a matter of fact the amount of serving is much more than the other Silos! We drive from Boerne to that one and it totally worth it!!!!

After visiting San Antonio’s very nice McNay museum, we and good friends had lunch at the Silo Elevated Cuisine & Bar on Austin Highway. They frequent the Silo on Loop 1604 and we have eaten there with them previously. They chose the Austin Highway location due to its proximity to the McNay. Another couple joined us for lunch. We all opted for their 3-course Fixe Prix lunch menu. My wife and I both ordered identical selections, a rarity. She opted for the recommended petite Syrah, however, while I chose the zinfandel. We seemingly never order “exactly” the same things! We chose the spinach salad which came with a “Crispy Brie, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Raspberries Dried Apricots & Spanish Sherry Vinaigrette”. The spinach was fresh and the crispy brie was to die for. A great salad! For the entrée we had the “CHIPOTLE PORK TENDERLOIN with Green Chili Mac & Cheese, Sautéed Spinach Ancho Cherry Sauce, Texas Goat Cheese”. It was also excellent. I was a little iffy on the green chili Mac & Cheese, but it was actually quite good. The pork tenderloin was very tender, seasoned well (very tasty crust), and cooked to perfection. The wines were both nice (we shared a sip), but I believe the recommended petite Syrah was indeed the better choice, albeit only slightly – both were very good. I had a lemon sorbet for dessert. A very enjoyable meal with good friends. A place I’d recommend to friends and hope to go back myself.

Had dinner at Silo with an old friend. Great place for a good conversation coupled with good food. The service is confident and prompt, letting you choose the pace of your dinner. The atmosphere is modern but not loud. Perfect for our evening. We had lots to catch up on and the server didn't interrupt at critical times. Very perceptive and that quality was appreciated. We started with the Country Fried Oysters. I was slightly underwhelmed by them; I think I was expecting something different and I did get one gritty oyster. We ordered the wedge salad to split. It was very good, but I wished we each had ordered our own or asked for a small side of blue cheese dressing. The dinner entrees were outstanding. My friend had the lamb special with a side of scallops. The lamb had a slightly smoky taste to it (almost reminded me of BBQ) that was different from what I had ever had ever tasted before. Outstanding! I selected the scallops. Very well done and very generous with the portion. If you had two light eaters, I think you could share that plate. It would also give you leeway to try other items, esp. the appetizers on the menu, something I will consider for next time. Silo's also has interesting side dishes accurately called "Compliments." So if you want to have the lamb special but are keen on the scallops, you can add two scallops, or grilled shrimp or ever the country fried oysters with your dinner selection. I often find myself wanting to try more things at a restaurant than I could possibly eat and the option of a "compliment" is great solution to the problem. It was a lovely evening and I would normally give it an Excellent rating. There were a couple of missteps, not the server's fault. The gritty oyster, onions left on the wedge when we had specifically asked for them to be left off, and slightly slow on the drink order in the beginning. I couldn't give it a perfect rating but I will definitely be back again. I expect that next time it will be excellent.

We dined here for our anniversary in very late May, and again in June. I am always happy with whatever I order at Silo. They do make a few changes and updates to the menu on occasion, which keeps things interesting. My normal "go to" is the kurobuta cider braised pork shank, which I had in late May. I bypassed my usual wedge salad in favor of the toasted coconut pie for dessert, which I have always wanted to try. Wow, it is "to die for," and apparently their signature dessert. My husband shared it with me (very rich dessert) and remarked it was the best dessert he's ever had. When we returned in June, I tried the chicken served with garlic mashed potatoes and roasted veggies. My husband had the redfish, which he raved about. His usual "go to" dish is the shrimp and grits, but I think it was not on menu in June. Still, plenty of dishes to choose from, all quite good.

Consistently delivers excellent food and service in a polished but not stuffy atmosphere. The original location, on Austin Highway, is a local treasure with an elegant yet cozy setting and attentive service. The crab cakes are divine. I also enjoy the cocktails, veggie sides, and house-made gelato. The other locations all operate in a similar manner, with an entrance at street level and the dining room on the second level (served by an elevator). But the other locations seem more formal and less inviting.

Our group of ladies dined at the 1604 location and enjoyed two specials of the day, gachapo and bread pudding. Both were delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant for service, quality of the food and ambiance.

We ordered three different appetizers and they were all excellent. The main courses were very good to average. The duck and steak were very good. The pork shank was overcooked. It is usually very very good, but it was not last week. One of our salads had seen better days. The lettuce and greens were at not what I have come to expect from Silo Alamo Heights. The waiter was excellent and took great care of our table. He knew his food and wines. We will certainly be back because Silo is at the top of our favorite restaurants list. It is usually very good to excellent. Silo had 1/2 price wines by the bottle the night we were there. It's usually a really good restaurant for both food and service.

I went to The Silo with coworkers for dinner on Tuesday night, on the recommendation of my boss. The food was fantastic; everyone enjoyed their dinner. I had one of their nightly specials, which was beef tenderloin with a lobster tail, served with spinach and mashed potatoes. My steak was cooked perfectly and the lobster tail was an added surprise. Another bonus is that on certain nights, they have half off bottles of wine under $100. So, that gives you the opportunity to enjoy a nice bottle of wine at a reasonable price.

At Silo's you go up to the restaurant in an elevator to arrive in a gentle ambiance of warm lighting and a friendly staff. Somehow the ride up gives the feeling of arriving in a new world. The food is always excellent and of late, the staff is marvelous. We enjoyed our very funny, sweet waitress immensely! It is rare that the help add to the experience but this young woman did. My salmon was cooked to perfection as was the vegetarian risotto. Kudos to Silos!

I have eaten at the Silo on Austin Hwy a few times, most recently in Dec 2016. I have always been impressed by the food and service I have received. They offer a variety of food including steak, chicken fish and pasta. I have hosted business dinners here and they have been very accommodating. I highly recommend the Silo.

Food was really good, service was ok I guess, we have to wait a little bit to get our food and drinks but I would recommend this place.

While visiting San Antonio our relatives gathered here for lunch. Our relatives who live in the area come here often and it is one of their favorite restaurants. We therefore had high expectations. I ordered the sirloin steak which was rather tough and not very tasty. It was served on top of mashed potatoes which weren't particularly tasty either. My husband and I each ordered the Caesar salad, his came with anchovies mine did not - there was no mention of an option for anchovies. The romaine lettuce spears were dressed whole rather than cut up. Dressing average. My husband ordered their signature dish of fried oysters and he judged them as "okay". Service was not very good. Bread was not delivered until requested then removed from the table prematurely. Knives necessary for butter were removed. Waiter did not check on us much. The women's restroom was not clean and needed attention. The prices were reasonable and the ambience/decor was stylish and attractive. Since we were being hosted by relatives we did not complain but we would not recommend this restaurant.

Met with friends before going to a play. We all enjoyed the Prix Fixe supper. The pork tenderloin was delicious, as was shrimp and grits. My Caesar salad was very good. I remember when Silo was a market, long ago. That's how long I've been eating here, and it has always been one of the best meals in town. I've never had a bad meal here, they are always wonderful. Lots of restaurants come and go but Silo on the Austin Highway is consistently special.

This is the most romantic restaurant in San Antonio. Small, intimate, wonderful food and wine. There are restaurants that offer more "sizzle" but this is the spot if you want to experience romance in SA

Pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. Initially saw it was in a strip mall and when you enter there is an elevator. Not the best first impression but after arriving the experience is outstanding. The service was average, the food spinach salad a burger and fries were excellent my guest had steak and lobster bisque. Both are worth a return visit. Plus the bill was reasonable. This was a restaurant that I would recommend.

We have been dining at the Silo for several years and find the food to be excellent, although portions tend to be small. The fried oysters and pasta are world class.

So, I'll start by saying that I am ALWAYS impressed by the consistency and the quality of the food at Silo. My wife and I have tried a number of different plates and everything has been exceptional. However, the type of service at Silo is an acquired taste, I suppose. I've been three or four times, and had three different waitstaff for our table, but the service is always the same. Very stilted and uninterested. I've had a similar experience at one of the "top-rated" steakhouses in San Antonio, and I'll just say that for me, I would rather have a waiter with personality over one that can stare straight at me without blinking while reciting dinner options like a Shakespearean soliloquy. Wait, typically stage monologues involve some emotion. Point is, every time I go to Silo, I feel like my waiter or waitress finds serving me to be either an imposition or a rote task. So now, I go when there's a Groupon, and would never even think about it when there's not. Sad to say, but the experience isn't worth the full price of admission.

My uncle lives this place and had to take us there. We are so glad he did. The food was amazing, the service was outstanding, the atmosphere was perfect. Be sure to order the coconut pie.

I just love 210 SA, and this establishment is a benchmark of the great people, food service and eclectic flair of this wonderful city , I raved about this place and it was a welcome reprieve for one colleague who was being taken to all hearth clogging greasy spoons , one of my peers was taking her lol. though we were nicely dressed our casual wear was til a little under dressed for the upper deck, but the staff were accommodating . We pretty much went o a food tour, I hate waiting too so long to discuss what we had I know that we all racked up a pretty good tab person, and my colleagues had a absolute food blast, as always , even though there was only you guy when last here in 2009. Still the best I will always rave and dine here when in this fine city

Anniversary dinner last night. Our 22nd anniversary dinner at Silo because that is how many years they have been in biz. Mark Bliss and team put together a legacy combination there and much of it lives on, even though Mark has moved on to other fun. Debbie has been there since opening night and still adds greatly to the already great experience. Others have gone into glowing details about the offerings and they are all true. We cant stop enjoying this venue. Cheers.

We arrived late for our original reservation; yet because we had called twice to delay it, they were exceedingly gracious. That excellent service continued through our meal. I ordered the duck, but avoiding spice, the chef substituted those ingredients that I could not eat, for others. The meat was tender and flavorful, the haricort beans were perfectly cooked. Underneath were mashed sweet potatoes, which delightfully accompanied the other flavors. The sauce was sweet, rather than spicy. Hubby had the special lamb entree. He was very pleased with its tender flavor. For dessert I had the vanilla bean creme brulee. It was satisfyingly smooth and eggy, though just very slightly thick. Strangely, no distinctive flecks of vanilla bean were sighted, as is usual for that prized ingredient. Hubby had the coconut pie, with its toasted top, which was too cloying for my palate.

Silo Elevated Cuisine is one of our favorite restaurants in San Antonio. The food as well as the service are always top notch. No matter what we order, it is consistently good. We also enjoy the very attentive service. Last Sunday, we celebrated our 35th anniversary there and it was as enjoyable as always. We can't wait to go back.

Sometimes we forget to let everyone know about the BEST in our home town. For me that is Silo Elevated. It doesn't matter if you go to the one on Austin Highway or the one off of 1604, the food and service is always exceptional. Although more expensive than some of the "chains", for the food, ambiance and service, it is an excellent value. It is a great place to take visitors, or a great place for tourists that are looking for something besides the Tex Mex or chains that are everywhere in San Antonio. Be sure to have their chicken fried oysters either as an appetizer or entree. Also, their pork shank and Chilean sea bass are not to be missed. The restaurant on Austin Highway has a small restaurant connected to it called NOSH...It is a great place for a quick lunch or a great drink.

I had a short stop here while waiting on someone, decided to dash in for a snack. The menu looked so exciting. I ordered southern fried oysters, and a Cesar salad. The Cesar salad was great but the oysters were a miss. They did not taste fresh and so were a great disappointment. My waitress though was totally exceptional and so friendly and professional, I would definitely give them a second chance.

We ate upstairs and the service was good but I wasn't too impressed with the food (this also could be do to my poor decisions- always go w/ your first choice!) We got the lamb special and the atlantic salmon. The salmon was wonderful- the lamb was... a little cold and I really don't like sweetpotatoes so I should've known it wasn't going to satisfy me. The duck spring rolls were decent but nothing compared to an avocado egg roll at bj's brewhouse. Best thing was the drinks we got a ruby red and silo cocktail. After dinner we went down to the bar b/c apparently if you have a giftcard you cannot leave tip on the giftcard it has to be separate which got interesting since we had no cash so you have to pay for something else so that you can leave a tip even though the giftcard still has a balance on it. Downstairs at the bar evan was wonderful and really turned our night around, we will go back to visit her and she informed us that we can sit at the bar which in my opinion had a much better atmosphere and get your food from nosh or silo same prices and same menu. When we return... it will be to the bar always!

Been eating here for many years - consistent food, excellent service. I love this place and will continue to be a customer for many years!

the ambiance here is wonderful and so relaxing. the wait staff is considerate of your dining time and not always interrupting, and the food is delicious! Dine at the Silo, you wont be sorry. :) girls night out, , date night, celebrate a monumental year, just get here!

Never would I have thought there would be a place this classy and upscale on Austin Highway. Take the elevator to the 2nd floor, where it looks like you have entered an upscale trendy NY-like bistro. The wine list is impressive, so are the specialty cocktails. The menu is creative and inspiring, not to mention really tasty. Oh, and definitely save room for dessert, you might to order the chocolate souffle with your dinner so you don't have to wait ;-) Great service, atmosphere and food, I know I will be going back soon

a quiet evening with my friend, Shawn, our waiter did a great job and made fabulous suggestions. cheese plat for appetizer was amazing!

I went to Silo today for lunch with some clients. The food was excellent. They also have a good wine list. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I had the pecan crusted chicken, which was delicious. We had a bottle of Châteauneuf du Pape Château de la Gardine, stunning wine :-)

Very nice lunch menu with something for everyone. Tried the Prix Fixe lunch menu that offers choice of several salads OR dessert with the main course. The spinach salad was excellent. Then had the roasted pork loin with a cheesy orzo, steamed spinach. All was outstanding but the pork loin was the stand out! Excellent flavor and cooked perfectly! Staff was very attentive. Go enjoy!

My wife and I really like this place. Food has always been great, friendly staff and managers. Small area for actual dining that can get loud at times. Good bar down stairs. Clean kitchen, I know since I am one of their vendors.

1) Friendly service with a smile 2) Excellent presentation of the food 3) Very good quality and taste of the food 4) Premium feeling decor and environment 5) Good variety on the menu including prix fixe menu 6) Lots of wines to choose from Finally as a tip: Groupon does not entitle you to any of the specials or the prix fixe menu. (Wednesday was half-price wines and one of the 3 of us wanted a prix fixe, so we just simply did not use the groupon. It was cheaper and better to steer clear of the groupon.)

Visiting San Antonio for many years, my wife and I decided that we needed to try Silo on Austin Highway. The dining room is located upstairs and is very dark; we strained to read the menu. Also, it is one large, noisy dining area. My wife ordered grilled asparagus and crab cake. The asparagus was too smoky. The crab cake was very good as it was grilled and not done with filler. I erred in ordered fried items - chicken fried oysters and duck rolls. Unfortunately, the filling of the duck rolls was mushy and lacking duck. The oysters were mostly breading as I should have expected being fried. I started with foie gras, which was not what I expected. The waitress described it being prepared as a seared slice of liver. Well, it might have been seared, but was raw inside. Again, being my first foie gras, that may be the proper way to prepare it, so I will give Silo credit for an interesting, flavorful appetizer. Yes, it is "elevated" cuisine, but not to our liking. Been there.

We had dinner for 12 people at Silo and had a great experience. The food was great and the service even better. The wait staff was very efficient but unobtrusive. The wine was great and reasonably priced. The best dish was the fish special.

What an amazing dinner! My husband and I have been here before, and tonight we brought friends. We all ordered something new for us and each meal was reluctantly shared because it's so delicious. I had salmon, my husband had pork shank, our friends had scallops and shrimp and grits. Food pairings you can't even imagine were paired and prepared with such thought. In the end we all had dessert, again we shared desserts, creme brule, mousse and coconut pie. I cannot recommend this place enough and will be spreading the word to come and enjoy a great atmosphere and delicious food. ThIs place is above a small bar so there were light tunes flowing in the air.

Silo's at Stone Oak is well known but this one on Austin Highway not so much. What a fabulous restaurant. We made reservations and it was a good thing because it was very busy (perhaps due to the Groupon Coupon). We ordered a spinach salad that was great and we had the sea bass and the scallops. Absolutely fabulous food. The drinks were a little disappointing. We ordered a "top shelf" margarita but they were way too sweet. We didn't want to complain but probably should have. But, other than this it was perfect. We didn't order a dessert; we were too full. We would highly recommend.

Amazing food and service. The specials are always good. Loyal staff has been there for quite some time and that is always a good sign of a great management team. Staff knows their wines too and they have a large selection in a wide price range.

Nice venue, good service, excellent food. Salmon, asparagus, spinach salad, chocolate mousse, very enjoyable dinner with family.

We had a birthday dinner for four. Everything was wonderful. We shared starters and the calamari were perfect. Lightly battered and cooked just right. Even though there were some great lamb and beef entre choices we all picked seafood. My red fish was delectable. My wife's red snapper maybe even better. My son loved his scallops and his wife the shrimp and grits. We shared a vegetable risotto just for fun and loved it. Perfect, creamy rice with artichokes and more. The Texas bourbon Pie was a great conclusion. Wine prices were very, very reasonable with a wide selection. Only slight issue. The crowd downstairs in the bar was noisy.

The meal was quite expensive for what you get and while the atmosphere inside is OK, a lovely view of a parking lot in a strip mall doesn't make up for only an OK meal. We were a party of 4 and had shrimp with grits, pan seared chicken breast, Atlantic salmon and redfish over pasta. Even the bread served was ho-hum...bakery sliced white and raisin. We each ordered the coconut pie for dessert and it was absolutely wonderful. We all agreed that if we ever go back, we will order a whole pie with 4 forks and skip the meal. I wish I could give it a better review but the almost vacant restaurant from 6:30 until 8, prime dinnertime, speaks volumes. Almost forgot, the industrial nature of the surroundings makes the noise level quite disconcerting. Don't go here for a nice, peaceful meal.

I went to Silo for 2014-15 New years dinner with family and friends. We had a very nice time. Ambiance was accordingly and dinner was a really good. I would recommend this place and would come again.

We had dinner with group of colleagues from work, the food was very good but the menu is too narrow in choices, I like short menus this was too short there weren't many choices.

We were looking forward to our dinner on Thursday evening. We were a party of 4. One couple from San Antonio and one from New York. Three out of four appetizers were delivered. When asked about the chicken fried oysters, the server seemed puzzled. She came back and actually said she took someone else's order. The pork shank was cold and when brought to the server's attention she again seemed puzzled. She brought out another serving again telling us it was someone else's order. This portion was cold as well. We gave up! The rest of the dishes lacked seasoning. So disappointed. LUCA what's going on in your absence!

We went here for New Year’s Eve 2013 dinner and were pleased by the meal they served. We came back for the New Year’s Eve 2014 dinner and it was just as good. The food and the service are top notch and it is a great place to dine for a special occasion. Their five course dinner at $95 per person is very reasonable. Highly recommend getting reservations early for the dinner time you want. Being on their email list help remind me to make a reservation as soon as they announced their NYE 2014 special.

My husband & I went to enjoy happy hour with some friends. They have a very reasonable happy hour menu. The boar sliders were delicious! The wings were good & so were the spring rolls, but the sliders were our favorite! The service was ok. Most of the bartenders were friendly & helpful. One in particular was not. She "forgot" to put in our food order at the s as me time as our friends order then proceeded to argue & blame my husband. The environment was enjoyable. The food was GOOD. The cocktails were GOOD. (My husband loved his Old Fashioned.) The customer service could use a little but of work.

Every time that we eat at Silo's it's a great dining experience, but this time it was better because of our server Shawn. Shawn was friendly and courteous, and had a pleasant and relaxed air about him. I had told my wife that I had hoped that we wouldn't get the same waiter as we did the last two times, and thank God we didn't. Shawn was perfect!! As for the food, I had the Chilean Bass on a bed of lobster mashed potatoes; it actually melted in my mouth; totally delectable. My wife had the salmon on a bed of crab rice; she savored every bite. Atmosphere is romantically lit and lends itself to an evening of great conversation with the one you love. We love Silo's and we will return very soon; fingers crossed for Shawn as our waiter!!!! Thank you for making our date night memorable!!!

We enjoyed our meal at Silo Elevated on 1604&Blanco. From the movement we arrived at the door the service was impeccable. Very pleasant, not over the top but, very good. It set a nice tone for the evening. After placing our order with a waiter who was extremely knowledgeable of the menu we were given an assortment of bread. All of the bread was wonderfully fresh. My husband had the fried oysters as his starter, they were cooked perfectly, I had a garden salad, perfectly dressed, not to heavy. The main courses were, pork belly, very good, fairly large portion but I have had better, this one wasn't as tender as it should be. The mashed potatoes with corn, yummy. The other main entrée was the gulf coast shrimp served over couscous. The menu did mention lime, but this was a little heavy on the citrus which almost over powered the dish. The meal was finished by the two best deserts we have had in ages! The chocolate mouse, light and rich. The coconut pie, wonderful flavor with toasted coconut on top. You won't go wrong with either of these! It was a lovely evening, we will go back and try different dishes. But, we will order the same deserts!

Cannot recommend this little gem strong enough. Go now! Traveling from out of state, we are so happy we found this 5 star fine dining experience at a very reasonable price. Everything is made from scratch and the presentation is beautiful. We had a flounder dish that was so perfectly mild and flavored with risotto and spaghetti squash. Then we almost died and went to heaven with the Dark chocolate soufflé. I don't mean to over sell this, but we were so thrilled to stumble upon this lil hidden gem.

The food was very good as was the service. I had the shrimp and grits and it was perfect--very tasty without being too spicy. My husband had the pork loin which he reported was cooked just right. The web site said casual but we felt underdressed in our jeans after a full day of sightseeing. However, that didn't seem to matter. We had reservations but it didn't seem like that was critical for a week night. Would definitely return for another dinner.

I had the Oak Smoked Pork Loin and had the best seasoning that I have had in a long time. The menu has a great variety.

I have to say I was so impressed with this establishment. We went there for my hubby's birthday and was accompanied by my parents and toddler and brother. The food was expensive but I think it was worth it, our 4 meals, no appetizers or drinks, totaled a little over $250 but everyone enjoyed their food. Loved the ambiance too. We didn't get any wine but next time we will do that. Overall I would go back there but just for an occasion. The waitress seemed like she had better stuff to do than to help us but she still got a $20 tip on top of the $40 suggested tip. I loved the place, the food was great, the service not so much, but will still go back.

We made reservations at Silo (Elevated) on Easter Sunday, after a quick internet search. It was relatively close by (everything in San Antonio is about nine miles from everywhere else, it seems). Trip Advisor reviews were positive, so made reservations and was told menu was $38 prix fixe, and were a little disappointed that Silo's signature dish, "chicken fried oysters" was not among the choices. We got there and were promptly seated, taking the elevator to the 2nd floor dining area. We ordered a quail appetizer and an arugula salad (with balsamic vinaigrette and prosciutto) as appetizers and for 2nd course, redfish with dirty rice and green beans, plus sea scallops with basil risotto and roasted garlic. Service was great, water glasses were promptly filled, and bread was warm, whole grain raisin, which was very good. Appetizers were OK, but not "Oh wow!" 2nd courses came and the (two) sea scallops were on the same "dirty rice" as the redfish; I.e., no risotto or roasted garlic. Guess they ran out (we were late brunch reservations @ 2:45 pm) but we'd have ordered something else if we'd known, probably the tenderloin steak. We weren't bold enough to mention the oversight to our waitress, I suppose. The decor was dark with oddly cheap looking 20ft high wood-ish paneling on one side. We were seated next to the clear glass wall with a (for me) disquieting view of the foyer far below. I kept scrunching to one side until my wife admonished me, and I realized why I felt so uncomfortable. Desserts were over-rich; signature coconut cream pie and a cheesecake, Both had huge amounts of rich whipped cream; guess I know why Texas is jostling for dubious "fattest state" status? In summary, everything was good, but not "must return to try something else" good, I thought it a little pricey, too.

Our dining experience at Silo was wonderful. It began with excellent service which continued throughout our meal. They have good cocktail menu; I enjoyed my silo mule (it's on the tart side). Silo also has a large selection of wines from diverse regions. My meal was scrumptious. I had the salmon which was perfectly cooked and served with delicious whipped potatoes and bok choy. The space is contemporary yet intimate. We were able to have a conversation and could hear one another. I really appreciate lower noise levels. I don't want to go out with friends to catch up and not hear them! It's a little pricey, but it's a high end establishment. And worth every penny!

Went for a birthday. Everyone raved about their meals. My blackened reddish was delicious and my husband loved his steak and creme Brule. We have never been disappointed with Silo.

We stopped in for a weeknight date night dinner. Our first time at the Silo. At first glance, the parking area and building look a bit run down. Complimentary Valet Parking is helpful; as the parking is limited. Inside, the atmosphere changes. Dining Room is upstairs; with a bar downstairs. Welcomed by 'Joseph' and seated promptly. Barney, our Waiter, was very friendly and knowledgable.. We started with the Chicken-fried Oysters. Rather small; however tasty and a nice presentation. The Grilled Redfish with Dirty Rice was a hit; as was the Pan Roasted Chicken with Yukon Garlic Mashed Potatoes.. Side of Asparagus was nice and crispy, although a very small portion. Completed the meal with the signature Toasted Coconut Pie. Also a good wine selection. Great Service throughout the meal!

Dinner here was a culinary adventure. After looking at the menu and having a difficult time deciding among the wonderful items, my wife and I decided to split the cold seafood platter. And we're glad we did. It was both wonderful and filling. I would highly recommend this place for good dining.

I took my wife and son to Silo's on Mother's Day this year for a late brunch lunch package. I love coming to this place. The restaurant sits above a bar and only an elevator will bring you up. The ambiance is very clean and classy with a large dark wood bar and wine shelving that encompasses two walls. The kitchen is an open concept showing the chef and staff attending to the menu selections. Our server Eric was attentive and respectful, giving plenty of time for us to enjoy our full 3 courses during our meal. The food was excellent, both in taste and presentation. The Duck Confit really shined with a very smokey flavor. This is definitely and great spot for a romantic date, especially since the background chatter and activity can be easily heard all around.

I reserved a table for 4-10-15 for 8pm, we showed up about 10 minutes early and we're taken to our seats. About 20 minutes after we gave our drink order and has already finished our appetizers we finally got our mixed drinks. We placed our order for our entrees and had finished our drinks, our waiter never came back to ask if we wanted another round. About 45 minutes later the waiter comes back to tell us that our order was placed after a large party and it would be still longer until we got our food.... still no drinks. My boyfriend gets the waiter to come back and starts asking questions, come to find out the waiter had FORGOTTEN to put in our entrée order, we ask for drink refills and he says, yes absolutely it will be on him because of the blunder. I'm still upset but a free drink calms me a little. The manager comes over to make sure everything is ok and we explain how the waiter forgot about our order and lied to us, he tried to offer us another free drink or a free dessert which we decline based on a time crunch and not wanting to take advantage of the situation. The drinks finally arrive and the food it not long after, about an hour+ after we ordered it. We enjoy our food, which was great and ask for or the check. We get the check to see that the waiter lied about the round of drinks on him, no discount for anything.... $150 miserable anniversary dinner. We pay the bill and walk to the elevator where I tell the manager what happened and he acts concerned and then let's us walk out. I WILL NEVER GO BACK, I DON'T CARE HOW GOOD THE FOOD IS!! I get better service at fast food restaurants, hell gas station service would have been better than the service I got last night.

I have eaten here many times. The food is wonderful and the ambiance is good. The menu does change often, but the choices are always good. I like the fried oysters, duck, red fish and spicy pork dirty rice. Weekends are very busy and sometimes a long wait, but there's an awesome bar with good drinks to pass the wait time. Worth waiting for.

We arrived here about 12:30 PM. We were quickly greeted and led to our table. We were given our menus and we asked for a glass of champagne. The server described the two specials for the day--they were both seafood. We studied the menu and we decided on the Chicken Fried Oysters as appetizers for each of us. My wife chose the Shrimp and Grits for her main course and I had the Braised Short Ribs in a red wine sauce. It was served with mashed potatoes and green beans. I had a glass of Pinot Noir to accompany my meal. We chose the Chocolate Tarts for dessert. We were very pleased with our lunches. Anthony took very good care of us.

This place has a great HAPPY HOUR that will make you happy. Cocktails are awesome. Truffle fries ar a must try. Then dine upstairs for dinner, the Shrimp and Grits are perfect. Litlle expensive but worth it to impress. Staff usually very friendly. I know it can get busy, have never had a problem.

Met my wife here almost 9 years ago. Now, we have 2 rambunctious little boys. Silo = fun night spot. Full bar, good appetizers. Quality food but not cheap. Live music some weekends, jukebox others. Interior acoustics suspect --- it can get loud when the amplifier is cranked. Ont the ground floor (lounge) there's shuffleboard, a pool table, & a small dance floor. Big TVs to watch sports (esp. Suprs games) in bar area. Drinks are pricey but usually well made. I go back sometimes (when we can find a sitter). Recommended.

Here's a place for an intimate dinner, conversation and soft music. The food is wonderful. Atmosphere simple but elegant. Wait staff efficient and polite but sometimes drops the ball with requests. It was the day after New Years so maybe we're all a little fuzzy after the big day! The food was delicious with a twist. The Spinach salad with fried brie was innovative. Country fried oysters on angel hair pasta interesting and the kurabota pork shank with mac n cheese overwhelming. Would have ordered the rack of lamb special but planned to have bbq'd lamb the next day. Loved the twist with the water. They bring a display of citrus and cucumber to infuse the water glass. Will put grapefruit and orange slices in my water from now on!

Silo is probably one of the trendiest and hippest places in town, as far as the upscale restaurants go. The food is excellent, meticulous, and the atmosphere is always cozy...in a modern way. I love having a nice dinner there and heading downstairs to the bar for a drink or two after. I really enjoy it when they have jazz bands there. It makes it a one-stop-shop for a nice date or for a night out with good friends or colleagues. I highly recommend Silo to everyone.

We've had dinner at Silo about 3-4 times in the past 6-8 months. The food is always top notch and the service is quite good. Someone earlier commented that the service is a bit stilted or words to that effect. I just find it unobtrusive, but still professional. Now to mention my favorites: the wedge salad (always a starter and preferred over the caesar) + kurobuta pork shank, which is absolutely divine. Hubby likes the "shrimp and grits," which is his favorite. Our son had the duck recently, which he raved about, as well as an extra side of the bacon scallion mac and cheese. I've also tried the salmon (quite good) and the crab cake (excellent). But the pork shank wins out! Sadly, I have always been too full for dessert, though I must still try the toasted coconut pie, as I hear it's wonderful.

The crusted chicken was tough and stringy, could not cut it with a knife. It was also like warm. The steak was ok, not great. My wife ordered a salad with the dressing on the side and it was brought with it poured on top. She told the waitresse she asked for the dressing on the side and she said, well they put it on top anyway.....not great service. We will not be returning.

I took my husband here for his birthday and we had high hopes that it was going to be great! However first the server was not very good. Second the place I take my husband for his birthday …..he is served a cold steak with no flavor (the cut of the steak was terrible - lots of grizzle and fat and very tough) his potatoes were very cold and it was 60.00 for the worst steak ever. We could of had a great steak if we stayed home. I felt very bad. We will not be back after this :( he didn't complain because it was his birthday and he just wanted to have a good night but to be honest I did not want to pay for something that tasted so terrible :( Please learn how to cook a steak and serve the sides and the steak warm to the client.

We finally made it to Silo, with a groupon as incentive. Excellent service, food was to die for! We split a spinach salad to start, glad we did since it was large, and the waiter served it on individual plates for us. The seabass and sea scallops were both cooked perfectly. We added on the green chile grits - too much food, took them home and it was perfect as a dinner side the next night. Chocolate truffle mousse was one of the best desserts I've had in years, including multiple cruises. Only complaint was that the bar service was slow - they have to get their drinks from downstairs at Nosh and it can take a while. Wouldn't stop us from returning. My wife didn't get to see Lucca and was disappointed, but hey, a reason to go back!

My date and I visited this Silo location for the first time and what a disappointment it was. The redfish was cooked very well, but the potato hash beneath it had a horrible medicinal, bitter taste. We were also charged $6.00 more than the stated prices on the menu which was very odd. We were in a hurry to get somewhere else and did not have the time to send the dish back. The prices are far too high for this level of quality. We will never go back. We have been wanting to try the new location off I-10, but after two less than great visits to Silo, I think we'll pass.

Was very impressed with the service from the host to the waiter , they were very help-full. The food was excellent with very generous portions. Nice place for a couple or intimate atmosphere.

When I want a really nice place with fine food and wine Silo is the choice. A fine chef, atmosphere, and attentive staff. The food is always good. Never ending bread that is very good. You just can't beat Silo for that special meal ! Eat here, you'll be glad you did.

It is Culinaria week (Restaurant week) in San Antonio and Silo has a great variety on their lunch menu for $15. I started with the Chicken Fried Oyster appetizer followed by Sun Dried Tomato crusted Trout and finished with Key Lime pie. This paired with a great wine choice made a rainy Sunday afternoon a great day. This restaurant is located on the Austin Highway and is accessed from the rear by an elevator. Culinaria is a real treat and we enjoyed the lunch enough we have made dinner reservations later this week. There are two locations and a rumored third location downtown on the way. This is truly a treat you should not miss.

Wonderful! I took an out of town guest from New York on Wednesday and he loved it, so we came back Thursday evening as well. He lives in Manhatten and said the food at Silo was as good as anything he's had back home. Silo Alamo Heights has consistently excellent food and the atmosphere is conducive to conversation - the lack of noise is a welcome alternative to the irritating din so common in restaurants today.

We were in San Antonio for a weekend and a friend recommended this place..its excellent! We came for brunch and have the eggs benedict, crabcakes, mimosas, really loved the crabcakes. If you love the chocolate and coffee then you try the chocolate mousse and the Silo coffee, so yummy!

It was a spur of the moment romantic dinner for two and worth every cent. Not for those where the cost is first, but for splurging it is an excellent choice. Although we made reservations, there was ample seating and perhaps could use someone with a disability to assist as the tables and chairs are a little too close for my comfort and difficult to navigate. Excellent bar. But it is the food that why I would rate it as I did. All excellent. I had lamb and not overcooked or under cooked or slobbered over with gooey sauce. My partners meal was just as good. No need for appetizers however, we went with the cheese tray and all excellent. We ordered wine by the glass with good choices available. All in all a decent place in San Antonio

If you're looking for an upscale restaurant with really good food -- think dinner with another couple or a date night - this Silo location is the spot. It's just "fancy" enough to make you feel like you are doing something special, but not so pretentious to keep you from having casual conversation and some fun. Best of all, the food is outstanding. My friends had a daily special of Ahi Tuna with a tomato crab cake, over polenta with brussels sprouts and raved about it. I had a duck dish which was perfectly cooked. For an app, we had an orders of the chicken fried oysters -- a good savory snack as a starter -- followed by splitting a superb beet salad. A great meal. They have some interesting wines too...

The food was excellent as was the service. Very nice casual atmosphere. The special was a red fish which two of us purchased and it was great.

Do not eat here!!! I called early in the week to see if they honored Groupon on Christmas Eve and was told yes, a sign at the entry said no. The manger said it was a late change by OWNER PATRICK RICHARDSON, and he had no authority. Terrible ownership!

The staff are very friendly and professional. The menu challenges you to explore, which is exactly what we did. I am not sure that it lives up to the 'elevated cuisine' miniker, except that we took an elevator to get up to the restaurant, but it really was a great meal. On Mondays they offer a 50% discount on wines up to $100. Far Niente at $135 a bottle suddenly becomes really good value.

This place never disappoints- what a delicious treat it is to dine here. Delicious everything especially crab cake, which many places make too bready, Silo's nails it very time!

This restaurant never disappoints!!!! My husband and I eat here at least once a month. Last night I had the swordfish with sweet potato hash that was absolutely amazing!

We got a Groupon value and decided to try. Never even knew it existed. Fine dining, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Excellent service and excellent food. Our friends pork chop was a roast. My crab cake was unusually different and delicious. Remaining diners had salmon. We will definitely go again. Restaurant totally filled up. We are early diners so we were the 1st table seated @ 5:30 when they open. Reservations highly recommended. EXCELLENT CHOICE. 5 STARS! $$$

My wife and I had the "chicken fried oysters", which were very good, and presented in a very professional way. Our waitress was "a kick", and everyone in the place made an effort to be neighborly, while be very efficient.

My husband ordered Duck confit and I had pan seared scallops. I did ask for spinach instead of cauliflower mash and there was no problem. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We had bread & butter plates but never got bread and butter. My husband asked what the plates were for and was told that we needed to ask in order to get bread and butter. There is a happy hour downstairs.

We love the Chicken Fried Oysters and they are the only reason we go to this restaurant. We go at least once a year when in San Antonio. Atmosphere is casual, despite the pricey menu. If you luck into a good table in quiet area, it is a nice experience; if you end up close to a louder party it's not as pleasant. The tables are fairly close together so your neighbors are important. Service can be erratic, great at one point, ignored at other time, e.g., bread comes randomly and staff doesn't really check if more is needed. Glasses of wine are average price, no complaints there. The Chicken Fried Oysters are the only thing our entire party ever orders and we absolutely love them. However, over the years the portions seem to have gotten smaller and smaller without a reduction in price. Going here is simply considered a splurge as there really isn't the appropriate value for the price. That said, we'll go again because we love the Chicken Fried Oysters. Thanks to this site, now that we know groupons are available, we'll check for those before our next San Antonio trip as that savings would put the price in a reasonable range and let us really enjoy the Chicken Fried Oysters (did I mention we love them?).

I would have rated this place 5 stars as I have in the past but this time only 3 stars. Our daughter who was visiting from A&M surprised us by treating us to dinner here; she knows we love it and it is one of our favorite places. All was going well until the waiter took our drink order for iced tea. He made a face and then was very slow in serving us our drinks, as for the bread, he didn't bring it until we already had our food. He just about ignored us. Now on the other table, they ordered drink after drink and he was tending to them with a huge smile, laughing, and was quick to their every whim. I didn't think that great wait service was contingent on alcoholic drinks. I expected much better! I was going to ask for the manager to let him/her know but my daughter stopped me; she said why ruin it even more. We will think twice about visiting Silo again after this.

My husband and I went for lunch and had the fixed price menu. We had a salad, a generous sized entree, a glass of wine and desert, for less than 50 dollars. Everything was delicious. It was such a pleasant meal!

I was visiting from Florida and my hostess was so excited to share the restaurant with me as we are both highly traveled individuals, and love to share new cuisine with others. The food was excellent, but not so extraordinary that I would want to rush back on my next visit. The server seemed very knowledgeable with the wine pairing and we were pleased with the choice. Again, excellent food, but lacking in ambience and the wow factor.

I reviewed the new Silo out on the loop. This location is in our neighborhood and we've dine here many times in the last couple years. I don't really have any criticism of this establishment. The cocktails and wine selection are very good. The atmosphere welcoming and the staff extremely attentive. The menu is more traditional than cutting edge. My favorite here so far - don't know if this is still on the menu for dinner - is the lamb medallions. But the kitchen is very good and it's unlikely you'd be disappointed with anything ordered here. I'm sure we will be back.

When the Jack and Coke arrives with just a faint coloring of Coke and your eyes water with that first sip, you just know the evening's dining experience is going to be memorable. Our waiter started by offering various accoutrement possibilities lined up on a silver tray for our water. My wife and daughter picked lime slices. I take my water straight up. My daughter in from New York City while her apartment is under renovation chose the Grilled Duck Breast & Leg Confit as her entree. She said it "had great flavor and was a good size portion". My wife had Shrimp & Grits with a Roasted Beet Salad. She said her meal "Couldn't be improved upon". I had the Grilled Beef Tenderloin medium rare. I asked the waiter that if they couldn't get it spot on to miss toward the medium side rather than rare. He assured me that it would be perfect. Having had a recent disappointment with how our steaks were cooked at a local big name steak house, I am still in shock and overly inquisitive. It was not only spot on medium rare but served piping hot. It was an exquisite piece of meat. The whole dish was a delight. We had wine described as fruit driven, Morse Code Shiraz 2014. It fit right in the flow of the enjoyable evening. My daughter and I finished with the chocolate soufflé. The 25 minute preparation wait was, well, worth the wait. My wife enjoyed the Gelato. A cup of coffee and an Amaretto on the side in a snifter finished me off for the night. Some restaurants don't get Amaretto correct and serve it in things like big shot glasses! Finally. When we arrived it was arctic-like in the dining room. My wife and daughter mentioned it to the hostess who seated us. She offered additional cloth napkins for warmth and was very sympathetic. About 10 minutes later both my wife and daughter remarked that the room had become comfortable. The Best just know how to be the Best.

Great service and a delicious menu. We had the signature oysters and ahi tuna appetizers. Both were great. For dinner we had venison, nicely seasoned and smokey. A nice bottle of Virginia Dare Pinot Noir. We'll definitely be back.

My husband and I ate dinner here, and we had a wonderful experience. It is very elegant, and the food was excellent. The menu has enough choices, but there were several specials as well. We started with the calamari, which was good and fresh. I had the sea scallops, which came with risotto and hericot verts. The scallops were wonderful - tender, flavorful and almost melt in your mouth. The risotto was very tasty too. I was surprised at the portions - very generous for a fancy restaurant. My husband had the blackened redfish with crab. It was also very good. We did not have any dessert, because we couldn't eat any more! I definitely recommend this restaurant. It is expensive, but you get what you pay for.

This was my first visit to Silo. This is a nice restaurant. I ordered the Pecan Crusted Chicken Breast with Andouille Jambalaya Rice and Sautéed Spinach. The chicken was delicious! The jambalaya rice was okay and the spinach was pretty good. They do not have sweet tea- shame. The service was lacking. I ordered Black Currant unsweet tea and when the first glass was empty I had to ask for a refill which the waiter filled with regular unsweet tea. That was the only refill I received. Unacceptable. The prices were reasonable and the atmosphere was relaxing.

Really first class menu when you press "2" in the elevator served by professional servers. Great specials and wine list, too!

Took advantage of a 50% off on entrees for early bird diners on the night of the final POTUS debate. Ahi appetizer is a winner. Very tasty. Tried the shrimp & grits. Excellent. Tasso ham chunks puts this dish on a higher plane. Will be looking for similar promos in the future.

Great food, great ambiance and outstanding service! From the delicious and generous pork shank to the meaty and flavorful crab cakes (no filling here), we love Silo! Of course, their signature fried oysters are not to be missed!

This was my first time here. We really enjoyed the generous food portions. The lamb special was amazing. The seafood bisque was the highlight of the evening. Wednesday night is 50% of each bottle of wine. Very nice.

Silo's is always friendly service and excellent food. No matter what you select, it will always be great.

The food is always exquisite and well worth the trip. I live in a different area of town and am glad to see they have opened another location off IH 10/Dominion. For many years the Austin Hwy location was the only one in town. The Chefs are very creative and the food is always excellent in its taste and presentation. I'd highly recommend you try it especially if you are seeking an upscale restaurant for that perfect occasion..

Hard to quantify with a rating, since our experience was so bipolar. We got there early, so stopped for a cocktail at the Bar. The cocktails were fantastic, bartender was friendly, helpful, and we enjoyed our visit! When we went upstairs to have dinner, we found a warm staff, and wonderful service. It was difficult getting a recommendation from our waitress, which was odd, since it was our first visit. We found out later why. We had several different dishes in our party, so a good representation. The roasted chicken was tasty, but a bit dry. The beef filet was perfectly cooked and seasoned. A hit! Pork loin was great, as well. Very tender. The disappointing dish was the salmon. Ordered medium rare, came well-done, and bland. When you order grilled salmon, you'd expect a crisp skin, with seasoning that pops. This was an utter disappointment. The only flavor on this plate came from the canned artichoke hearts in the orzo. No color, no seasoning, (even salt) and nothing to cut the richness of the buerre blanc it was drowning in. Stay on the turf side of this menu.

Nice menu, variety of offerings all excellent. Love the chicken fried oysters and the coconut pie. Brunch and Holiday menus as well as daily pre fixe meals. Sign up for email, they regularly offer buy one get one or one at half price or half price wine type specials. Nice for a date or a family gathering

Very nice place to eat some good pasta , very nice attention and prices are acceptable, I recommend this place without doubt

So I read many reviews before our dinner tonight. I figured the negative comments couldn’t possibly be accurate. I had heard of the Silo’s reputation and expected great! Well, our experience tonight was disappointing. It was a busy Tuesday the day before Valentines Day. There were five of us with a reservation for 615pm. We were one of the first tables seated. Our waiter came to get drink requests. We had none. After getting menus and hearing the specials- we ordered 4 entrees and one prefix meal (entree with a salad) at 630pm. The waiter never told us his name at the start. We were brought a bread basket and one tiny butter. We never had any offer to have it refreshed. 45 minutes later our meals finally arrived. The food was well prepared but not all the portions were “ large” like other reviews stated. We had the chicken fried oysters, pork shank x2, salmon and crab cake meals. Several of us were still hungry afterwards. Nothing wrong with the taste of the food. It was good. We choose to skip desert because it was almost 8pm by the time our bill came and was taken. We did eat relatively fast— but once again we sat forever nursing our water glasses waiting on the waiter. Our service was slow, almost non-existent. For such a tiny dining room you would think it wouldn’t be that hard to take care of your guests. Our bread and salad plate sat on our table for nearly 30 minutes and were only cleared when the food arrived (which I’ll remind you- took 45 minutes). I think our waiter wrote us off and gave us mediocre service because we didn’t order drinks and we had a Groupon for $100. Guess we weren’t “worth the trouble” to provide decent and timely service. Too bad. We won’t return for any reason. I honestly don’t see what the big deal is about this place. The food was good BUT it’s always the service that “sets the first impression.” Very disappointing. Just proved to me that the other mediocre and negative reviews were probably true as well.

This is actually the 3rd time we have visited this restaurant. Every entree we have tried is absolutely delicious and well presented. The fried oysters is our favorite so we always order it as a complement or an appetizer. Be sure to try their toasted coconut pie for dessert.

I love the duck. Joseph knows run a great restaurant. The food is always amazing. Barney served us well. Can't wait to go back. ;>)

Whether it be a special occasion, romantic dinner, or business meeting; Silo Elevated Cuisine is outstanding San Antonio dining! Our most recent visit celebrated our son's birthday. The service is always professional, personable, yet unobtrusive. The entre choices are outstanding; including the Shrimp and Grits, Chicken Fried Oysters, Red Fish served over Asparagus, Seared Scallops, the Glazed Salmon...all dishes prepared and served to perfection. And, the (birthday) candle-lit, dark chocolate truffle mousse dessert for four completed our celebratory occasion. There are two locations, but the centrally located, Alamo Heights, Austin Hwy site is the original. Reservations are highly recommended. Our Friday evening required 5:30pm booking as Silo is popular. Expect valet as parking is limited. Our dinner occasion for four entrees, wine for adults, and a shared dessert was $175; the memory and experience - priceless! We look very much forward to returning soon!

I have been here twice now, both times with a large party, and both times everyone's meals were excellent and the service was flawless. The prix fixe menu is a great way to sample the menu and is a good value. If they have it when you go - try the coconut cream pie - so yummy!

Silo was recommended by friends when out of town family gathered. The atmosphere and service were good but the food was somehow uninspiring. We started with the foie gras and the lamb lollipops. The foie gras was excellent, even though the seared foie was initially served on toast when we had asked that the toast be on the side as several members of our party have celiac disease. Once that was corrected, the foie itself was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed both preparations. The lamb had good flavor but was served medium when we had explicitly asked for medium-rare. Several members of our party ordered the redfish special. I thought the sauce that accompanied the fish was excellent although the fish was decidedly overcooked. A couple of us did not finish, not due to the quantity, but because the fish itself was overdone. Overall a nice restaurant with nice food but I wouldn't recommend for someone who is more persnickety about the temperature and cooking of their proteins.

I ate here for a business lunch and the setting was perfect. I was able to hold a conversation with my peers without it being too loud or wait staff constantly interrupting. Total time spent here was about 2 hours. I had a Caesar Salad, with Pork Tenderloin, Spinach, and green Mac and cheese. I would return with my spouse for dinner.

Attentive Service and outstanding food. The only thing I was disappointed in was our oyster appetizer. I anticipated their "signature" chicken fried oysters, but thought they were not ample enough for two people to share and were rather tasteless. However, their pan seared sea scallops made up for their appetizer. The sides were excellent as well. Our server was delightful and attentive.

For a couples' night out this is a nice place with good cuisine and drinks. You take an elevator one floor up to a very comfortable setting.

Our waiter was very unprepared. Had to keep reading and rereading the specials from his pad. We had to keep reminding him that we still had not received cocktails. Never even ask who wanted wine we had ordered and so I kept having to ask someone else to pour me a glass. The salads were so small they could have been a garnish and for $9 I truly expected more. The 4 scallops for $36 was good but our guest finished in about 6 bites. We wish we would have eaten at Nosh! Will not go back there again.

We made reservations but may not have needed them. Not crowded nor was there waiting Nice table settings. The ceiling looked like a warehouse. Lots of steel exposed and it was distracting. Otherwise the decor was pleasing. I think our waiter had a few too many tables to service as our water glasses were empty more than once while we watched him visit several other tables. The bar may be located downstairs as the mixed drinks took 15-20 minutes to be delivered after ordering both times The food is awesome! We shared three courses. First we had the crab cake. My only disappointment was that it was accompanied by tartar sauce on top, which I scraped off. Would have preferred remoulade sauce on the side. Second course was a caprese salad with what appeared to be fresh mozzarella. There was just the perfect amount of tomato, basil and dressing. So yummy licious Lastly we had the surf n turf. Usually I am wary of scallops but these were done very nicely with a nice little crisp outside and delicious moist inside. The steak sat on a lovely bed of mashed potatoes of which I practically licked off the plate!

Amazing food. Our server Shannon was wonderful and very attentive. Romantic atmosphere and the price was reasonable. Strong recommendation.

I will write another review because I don't see the one I know I wrote after our recent trip to San Antonio. My wife and I enjoyed lunch so much the first day we returned twice the next three days. The food was outstanding and the service quite good. I have seen a few complaints about the ambience on TA, but we thoroughly enjoyed it. Nothing like this in the Rio Grande Valley. Silo Elevated will be at the top of our short list our next San Antonio trip.

First of all this is not an all you can eat buffet. The children's menu is limited and way over priced. They charged me $11 for a bowl of angel hair pasta and $11 to throw on some chicken. Total bill for 4 adults and 1 child $160 including tip. You can find a better value somewhere else. The restaurant was near empty. Guess everyone else knows what I found out.

My mother is visiting town so she took care of the kids and my wife and I were able to have dinner alone at Silo. Also, we found a great Groupon for this excellent restaurant which took a little of the edge off rather expensive prices. I had the Chilean sea bass with mushrooms and she had the surf and turf, which allowed for us to try the fried oysters. All of the food was perfectly done. Also, our server did a fine job and the service was prompt, especially given that the place was pretty full and it was a Friday evening. My one disappointment was that I ordered a grappa for my after-dinner drink and they were out. For dessert we shared a very generous seeing of coconut cream pie. All in all a very nice dining experience.

My beautiful bride and I decided to revisit Silo Elevated Quisine for our 20th Wedding Anniversary dinner. We had celebrated there once before and, having had a positive experience, decided to try it again. Our experience this time was even better than the last. Sharing with the host that we were celebrating our 20th, he seated us away from other tables so that we had adequate privacy. The atmosphere of the dining room was simple and elegant, not overdone or too artsy. Lighting was dim, making it perfect for a romantic evening (or any dining experience), but not so much that one cannot appreciate the asthetics or presentations of the fare. Our server went over the specials with us, took our drink orders and gave us ample time to review the menu. He returned with an assortment of baked breads with butter, all of which were fresh and delicious. For entrees, my wife chose the Vegetarian Risotto and I opted for the Halibut that was featured. Both of us thought our dinners were delicious. The texture and flavor of the fish was outstanding, it sat upon layers of fresh green beans and a risotto with lump crab meat. I savored every bite and was very pleased that I had chosen it over the other very enticing available options. For dessert we both chose items featured that evening, a fresh peach cobbler and pecan bread pudding both served with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream. Also delicious it was the perfect ending to a wonderful dinner. Our server was the epitome of a true professional, very knowledgeable of the menu and featured items, attentive but not overly so, and genuine. Overall, we enjoyed a perfect dining experience that will not be forgotten.

We visited Silo in Alamo Heights this past week. We had a party of 16 and were very pleased by the food, service and drinks. I had shrimp and grits which were delicious. The salads were very good, I had the arugula. Everyone at our table raved about their plates. The cucumber martini was delicious as well. We would definitely go again and will try the other locations.

Excellent service in an upscale atmosphere. White table cloths. Great lunch. Grilled chicken and deconstructed Caesar Salad. Very good.

My wife and I went to the Silo at the IH10 location for our 50th anniversary. I had a steak which I ordered medium rare but which was medium well! My wife had an expensive lobster dinner and was rewarded with diarrhea at 1 AM. The service was so-so though every one was quite friendly. I won't ever go back. This was our second bad experience at the restaurant.

Had a great dinner! Got the off menu ribeye and it was wonderful. My husband got the pork shank and loved it. He hash that came with it was so good. We had boudin stuffed quail for appetizer and it was surprisingly good!

This is the fourth or fifth time I've been to Silo's. I have yet to have a meal that was less than excellent. Today was no different. The food was superb, and the service attentive without being overbearing. Simply put it was wonderful.

Great service, excellent food. I went with a group of friends for a party, all 8 ladies loved their entree. I had the redfish with a spinach salad and cheesecake for dessert. All were delicious. The prices are a bit high but the food is well worth it from presentation to palate. Recommend reservations on weekend nights. The only complaint I have is on weekends there is a band in Nosh, the bar downstairs and it was too loud to carry on a conversation especially with a large group. And to get to the restrooms you have to take the elevator down and go to another part of the building. Other then that nice place great food and service.

This is a great place.....period. The staff is super attentive and the food is always omg amazing. Started with a complimentary glass of bubbly and it got better and better after. The lettuce wrap beef appetizer was flavorful and more than enough to share. My wife had the fish and I had the kurabota shank with grits. Let me say....I don't like grits.....well, that was until I ate these. Deep and tasty flavors throughout...just loved it. The sides were good and we shared dessert. It was just a great night....am glad I could share it with my wife of 16 years.

One of our favorites! Service is always great. Food even better. I had the "Chicken fried oysters", and they were on the small side but very crispy and delicious. Husband had the "duck" and was thrilled. Daughter had the "grilled lamb" and liked. She said she'd order my "crispy oysters" on her next visit. She thought the lamb, had too much "smoked flavor" and she couldn't distinguish the lamb flavor, she likes. Wine list is good but on the "pricey" side.

This is a great place for lunch or dinner. It is very upscale with excellent food and drink. The service also is incomparable. If you want a romantic dinner for two, I highly recommend this for an evening.

The food was delicious. The atmosphere was such that we could enjoy a nice conversation. Waiter was extremely slow. I enjoyed a chicken sandwich. Others enjoyed crab cakes. A must do when in San Antonio.

Been here several times since a couple years. Professional staff with delicious food. We enjoy it as family night out and couples dinner.

We love Silo, especially their prix fixe menu, which is offered weekdays from 5:30-6:45, reservations required. Try the oysters which are phenomenal, as is their coconut cream pie (made in house.) they offer half price wine on their bottles but I forgot which night that is. We pair the half price wine with the prix fixe and we have a great meal at a relatively reasonable price. Highly recommend this place!

I have been here twice and have always enjoyed the ambiance of Silo. Its a nice place to have a relaxing evening with a few friends or a loved one. I had the shrimp and grits this time which was great.

This is my favorite restaurant! The servers are outstanding and I always listen to their recommendations. My red snapper was outstanding and my husband's pork from the menu was delicious as well. But it is an expensive meal so save for special occasions.

We made reservations for our anniversary dinner on OpenTable. They do not allow BYOW due to their licensing? Anyway, we wanted to bring a bottle from France (my hubby brought back), but it wasn't an option. Oh well, they do have an extensive wine menu so we didn't have issue finding something suitable. Upon arrival, valet was complimentary and the hostess welcomed us and wishes us a Happy Anniversary. We went up to the restaurant via elevator and were greeted and seated and wished a Happy Anniversary again. This was nice and made us feel special. The food was well-plated and delicious. Each item on the menu seemed well thought out and appropriate fine dining fare. We started with the oysters. Delicious! A little too much sauce but that was easily remedied by taking a bit off the top. They were a nice start. I ordered the scallops and my husband ordered the grouper special of the evening. We ended up trading mid meal (we typically do this...to get the best of the experience when we dine.) The fish was the best I have had since we lived in FL (next door to a deep sea fisherman!) Very impressed with the preparation and accompaniments (butternut squash and pea risotto was filling and lovely.) One thing we weren't particularly keen on was our server. Her attitude was a bit assertive and jovial, but she was a bit more intense than we like. It just felt odd that she talked so much when giving us or food and wasn't able to read our conversation well. This may sound petty, but after dining at numerous fine dining establishments, the server usually makes a point to make the experience as enjoyable as possible. We didn't quite get that. She was passionate about the food it seemed and that was nice. It just didn't make us feel comfortable the way she spoke to us. We weren't offered a glass of complimentary champagne or a dessert as other TA members posted about. No big deal. Overall, the food and ambiance were very enjoyable.
Outstanding
When we were in the area for the Formula 1 race in Austin, we had reservations for Silo 1604, but our rental car GPS couldn't get us there and lead us to what seemed to be the middle of nowhere, although it was still in San Antonio. I called Silo, and a very helpful gentleman was able to cancel our reservations for Silo 1604, and reserve us a table at Silo Elevated, which was on our GPS and only a few miles away. He couldn't have been more helpful and gracious to we lost tourists. Silo Elevated was outstanding. The service, ambiance, and food was top notch, and probably the best all-around dining experience we've had in the Austin/San Antonio area. I highly recommend this place.
