Consistently the Best

We frequent monthly and for last three years never disappoints. Top notch, quality, scrumptious and piping hot meals always a delight. Great wine selection and best server in the business is Weston, but everyone there is superb from bartender to manager.

Best of the Best

By 29RonS |

We had the Caesar Salad, Grilled Oysters Rockefeller and Chicken Fried Oysters for lunch. We had the small plates and shared all. All dishes were excellent. This was followed by a Coconut Cream desert with a cup of Cappuccino. Really one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in years with excellent service and exceptional food quality. This was our first time to go to this restaurant but already planning our next trip there. Try it you will like it.

A Perfect Dinner and a New Favorite

By Marilyn E |

As a big fan of Silo 1604, I really didn't expect the Terrace Oyster Bar to be better---but it is! We shared a half dozen oysters, ordering 3 icy water varieties. All were delicious --we liked the Coupes des Anges best. The beet salad and the mixed greens were creative and tasty. Entrees were the grilled redfish and the best crab cake I have ever had. It was too cold to sit outside but we enjoyed the view of the hills through the large window. Our server was absolutely perfect--not too chatty, just friendly and efficient, presenting us with perfectly timed dishes. A word about the wines--Both the Hogue and the Chalk Hill Chardonnays were perfect with the delicious seafood. I've used the word "Perfect" too much but the description is accurate!

Great Modern Classic food, unique cocktails and family friendly

By Michael D |

Some of the best modern seafood in town. We took our whole family (including 5 kids 8 and under) here during the holidays and reserved the private room. Seats 10-12. The room is great for young kids because it's separate from the rest of the restaurant and they can walk around without disturbing the rest of the guests. High chairs are available. The Texas Ruby Red cocktail was slightly above average, but the seasonal mule drink was excellent - holiday flavors while still keeping all the best parts of the Moscow Mule. Highly recommend. The crispy calamari was was a great starter for the kids - not too spicy - so good, we ordered a second plate. I ordered the Hamachi Sashimi & Nigiri ($19) to start - excellent quality fish and the Nigiri was served with a spicy jalapeno on top. My wife ordered the Pepper Seared Ahi Tuna ($16) - one of the best tuna dishes she's ever had. PERFECTLY cooked and spiced on the outside. The Jumbo Lump Crab Cake ($18) was extremely high quality crab meat. For entrees, my wife and I ordered the Cioppino ($Mkt) and Tristan Island Lobster Tail ($Mkt). For the kids, we ordered the Chicken Fried Oysters and Roasted Chicken with truffle mac & cheese. The only critique we had on the cioppino was that we wish the sauce was a bit thicker, but the flavor and quality of the seafood was top notch. The lobster tail was also excellent and well cooked. It was served over a bed of velvety mashed potatoes and a few asparagus and served with clarified butter. When it comes to the table, they'll remove it from the shell for you. The fried oysters were also one of our favorite dishes of the night - well seasoned and cooked crispy and hot. Even the roast chicken was flavorful and not dried out. Of course, the truffle mac & cheese was hit with the little ones. Will absolutely come back here the next time we're in town. Highly recommend!

Superior Dinning

Superb filet that melts in your mouth despite their forte with oysters and fish. Highly recommend with classy atmosphere, great 50% off bottle of wine Monday's and nice terrace with happy hour.

OYSTERS

By Kevin |

...recently working in San Antonio, I had a strong need to eat some raw oysters with chilly beers. I had my craving satisfied here. Somewhat limited selection, compared to what I am accustomed to, but each oyster selection was outstanding. Lip-smacking good! Great staff and comfortable space to enjoy some freshly shucked oysters and beer. When in San Antonio, I will return.....

A Hidden Gem

By RanRen |

By far one of the best places for fresh oysters. My wife had the Rockefeller’s and I had the raw oysters. Both were excellent! Scallops were fabulous and the red fish was to. Service was great, place is very clean. Highly recommend

Fresh sea food in San Antonio Texas!!

By Patricio B |

The rule of Thumb is that the colder the ocean the better the seafood. Finding an amazing seafood Restaurant in LA, NY Boston is no problem, the ever famous Grand Central Station Oyster bar or the classical Joe's in Miami are the places to go. But San Antonio is not famous for its restaurants nor their service. To our surprise the Silo had very good seafood. We ordered the large seafood platter which included 4 oysters, king Crab, Lobster and 2 types of cold water shrimp where not bad at all. The lobster Caneloni was good and the wine menu acceptable. It is a guarantee of your looking for fresh seafood in a nice ambience.

Have your meal "their way" in a very crowded space!

By Maryl42 |

Entered into the restaurant - this group has the restaurant's on the 2nd floor and guests enter by the elevator. This is a small crowded space. During the meal we were consistently "bumped" by the server. Make sure you get a table away from any traffic areas as you will be very close to the other diners. Our meal was satisfactory. We asked for bread with our meal - this place specializes in Oysters and other sea food but they do have chicken and steaks for guests who prefer those- and were told "WE DON'T SERVE BREAD!" They were happy to provide us with some flat bread crackers they have but if you enjoy a roll or hot bread with your meal....bring your own. Would not return. The food was good but why be bumped around and not have the sides you like. We had the coconut pie for dessert and it was just a bunch of fluff. No creamy custard just fluff. I gave this an average rating because the main course was good but this is not an inexpensive restaurant. We will not return.

Need Some Rhinestone Shades or Cheap Sungglasses

By OmniEpicurean |

Modern minimalistic restaurant interior with picture window views of the parking lot and I10 from the upstairs dining area. Too bad they could not have turned the building around to face the green belt that its neighbor Aldaco's restaurant does. Service was darned near perfect with attentive help, informative banter and even your choice of lime, lemon, orange or grapefruit slices to perfume your otherwise droll glass of ice water. The well presented fish and chips consisted of two lovely pieces of fresh cod fried to a gnarly perfection in tempura batter and served over rosemary spiced fries and under a wisp or two of very light and tasty slaw. All was served with a large thimble full of vinegar, a lemon, some piquant dill and caper tartar sauce (by request), and a personal sized bottle of catsup . . . some of the best fish and chips I have had. Bright interior (to say the least; you can wear your sunglasses inside during the day) and waiters to match. The food is premium quality as you would expect. And if you have not tried the signature chicken fried oyster dish, just shut the door and pull down the blinds, Way too good to miss if you are any kind of bivalve aficionado.

As spectacular as the other two locations

By Robert F |

I have very much enjoyed meals at the other two Silo locations, so I looked forward to visiting this one in the Dominion area. I was not disappointed. Not only is the food beautifully prepared and expertly served (a a skill I find less and less at restaurants these days), they impressed me in another way. This is Restaurant Week in San Antonio, during which more than one hundred restaurants offer special menus at special prices, some of which goes to charity. The prix fixe dinner menu was $35. Frankly, some places cut a few corners but not here. The portions were large and the three courses very satisfying. I started with a grilled asparagus salad, for which I asked them to hold the asparagus (I liked all of the other ingredients), followed by a very flavorful duck confit on a bed of lentils with figs. I love duck. With the slightest pull of the fork it slid right off the bone. The figs were sweet and yummy, and lentils perfectly prepared. Our waiter was extremely attentive without being obtrusive. He did something I have never seen before, replacing the napkins under our sweating ice water glasses when they got soaked through with fresh dry ones. They could have offered an insignificant dessert, but instead, the square of key lime pie (mine) and chocolate tart (my wife’s) were generous, tasty, and a wonderful finish to the meal. We sat by the window and watched the traffic on Highway 10. Okay, maybe not a pastural location but the new shopping center had some other very interesting stores and eating establishments. We had fun pondering some of the huge homes on the tops of the hills across the way. I have never been disappointed at Silo and am sure to return. Yes, I gave a 25% tip, the service was that good.

Restaurant week

By skgcdl |

Our asparagus salad, seared barramundi & key lime pie all wonderful. The menu online for restaurant week was different than what they offered. Had to request the restaurant week menu from hostess ... Seems they would be promoting it

Awesome Valentines Dinner!

By Coby78006 |

Took my wife to Valentine's Day Dinner. It was great. The service was very attentive and timely. It was a fixed price menu with 3-4 selections for each course. The food was very good. Wonderful evening.......We will be back!!

Never disappoints from the kitchen to the front of the house

By mipps1 |

Consistently good food and gracious service. The redfish and a side of truffle Mac and cheese are our go to favs but don’t let the seafood highlighted menu keep you from their delicious steaks. The cocktail program is strong and it looks like the wine selection has been refreshed. Thank you for the Zinfandel addition! A visit is not complete without the coconut pie. Indoor dining is nice for a special occasion. The bar is great for a more casual vibe and features a well curated, eclectic playlist. Reservations for the weekends are recommended.

Simply put.....My FAVORITE restaurant in San Antonio

By Patricio B |

San Antonio is NOT a city with high end restaurants and Sophisticated cuisine. Silo breaks the norm and even dough it's NOT a NY city o Boston or LA high end it is the closest to refined cuisine for demanding and sophisticated clients. More impressive is that San Antonio is not a seafood destination so getting toro or fatty tuna must be a feat. Silo has very fresh seafood prepared in a non pretentious yet sophisticated matter. Everything I've tried is very good. My favorites are the large seafood platter, lobster ravioli and the mussels but anything you choose you can't go wrong. I have not tried any steaks I must admit so can't give my opinion.

Good seafood

By J Warren R |

Modern terrace oyster bar and casuaal seafood restaurant. All Freshly brought in and served correctly. Get a reservation. The fried green tomatoes with lump crab was tasty and a refreshing way to start. The grilled Texas Redfish, with sweet potato and bacon hash, with crab pan sauce was heavenly. The Chilean Seabass with wild mushroom risotto was creamy delicious. Nice, friendly servers, who took care of all the details; they even let us spit plates. Good wines by the glass. Tasty desserts to top the evening off right. Cool bar. Parking easy in their lot. Great location right off I-10.

Saturday Evening Meal

By Tommy B |

My sister-in-law is partially disabled. So having a place that can accommodate a wheelchair is very much appreciated. This place did that to a tee! Although it is upstairs, it is handicapped accessible and easily had a table that could have a wheelchair pulled up to it. The waitress was very accommodating and helpful. Explaining the menu and all of the specials. The wine list was quite extensive. A good thing! I ordered a nice California Chardonnay for the table. We ordered appetizers and our entrees. The appetizers were delicious, so were the entrees. The meal filled us up, so no desserts. The bill was not bad, so good value for the price. The place was packed, so also a really good sign. Good place with excellent service.

Great relaxing lunch spot

By RP_DP |

Been to the other Silos in San Antonio and this one holds up to their quality. We visited twice since it opened- once for dinner and once for lunch. The dinner was comparable to many other upscale restaurants but I would really recommend us for a nice lunch date. The hidden gem on the lunch menu is the mushroom burger. I will put thus up against any other burger in San Antonio. Carmelized onions, Gruyere cheese and a variety of earthy mushrooms. Delicious with a beer. Great spot to have a long lunch.

Terrible Lobster Roll

By LionJeff |

for $23 the lobster roll was a huge disappointment. It was quite small and there was far too much celery and chives and far too little lobster.

Still one of the best

By Alan G |

Latest of several visits to the Terrace. We hosted a couple who had not been before. The food was outstanding (salmon, halibut, lobster ravioli, oyster appetizers, chowder, spinach and fried green tomato salads, coconut cream pie and cheesecake),service a bit slow at first, but when engaged excellent. Wines by the glass vary in price but are good. It’s a pleasant space ,but small and a bit noisy when busy. It is not cheap ($300 + tip for dinner for four with 2 glasses of wine each) but worth it for the quality. If you are a tourist staying downtown, be aware of the I10 traffic from 4:00-7:00pm. Silo is a reliably excellent brand at all of their locations.

Amazing every visit

By mipps1 |

We have visited here four times over the last several months and each time the food, service and overall atmosphere have exceeded our expectations. It's obviously heavy on the sea food but the steak is fabulous also. If you want fresh, inspired food and gracious, thoughtful service, put this one on your culinary bucket list. We plan to visit the other locations soon for brunch.

Go after sunset to appreciate the ambiance.

By kewlflower |

I was trying not to like this place at first. It reminded me of a rooftop bar in LA. However they have the best and freshest oysters. We bought the chef's choice dozen and each one was better than the next. Who would thunk? The place is a bit trendy.great place for date nites. Great selection of wines and not very pricey either I had the French Rose which was awesome. Definitely will be back the next time I'm in town.

Neighborhood Event

By JVerschoyle |

I attend a neighborhood event at the Silo for Fair Oaks Ranch Living Magazine. I am the photographer for the magazine, it was a fun event and the venue was excellent!!! The food was consumed very quickly by the guests and they raved about it. Several of the event goers stayed for dinner!!!

Great food, service, drinks, atmosphere

By Shan B |

We went here to celebrate our son's 21st birthday. The food, drinks and service were great! We had mojitos and cucumber martinis to drink and both were very good. Two of us ate the spinach salad which was delicious. We all shared calamari which was a winner as well. If you don't like anchovies, make sure to get them on the Side if you get Caesar salad, or omit them.

What a fantastic dining experience!

By Richard H |

I have eaten on the terrace oyster bar area twice and the food and service has always been exemplary. This time I ate dinner in the main restaurant during restaurant week. I had a reservation and was seated promptly at a booth. A waiter (Wes) noticed that the booth was a little cramped for me (I'm a big guy) and asked me if I wanted to move to a table, which I gladly did. I have never had a waiter do this in all my meals and travels!!! It wasn't even his table! I enjoyed a leisurely dinner (surprise during restaurant week when the restaurant was very busy) with great service (Matt)! A choice of 6 different slices of a citrus fruit was offered to go with my water. I had the chicken fried oysters with pork belly, both cooked to perfection with a wonderful sauce. I had the tenderloin steak for my main course. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare (the waiter checked with me if I was satisfied) and seasoned to my liking. The garlic/blue cheese mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus were also cooked and seasoned well. I had a glass of white and red wine, respectively with the courses. The wine selection by the glass and bottle is very good. I finished my meal with a nice double expresso. The manager (Ingrid) went around from table to table making sure that each diner was enjoying their dining experience. I enjoyed my conversation with her. Needless to say, I will continue to go back to this restaurant when I want great food, prepared well, and accompanied with phenomenal service. Please give it a try. I don't think that you will be disappointed.

A great place for Happy Hour

By shadow17 |

We really enjoy the Silo Terrace Oyster Bar - their appetizers are about as good as it gets. They have a nice choice of raw oysters as well. The bartenders, Marty and Stephen, are excellent and their outgoing personalities help make the experience even better. They are both great Mixologists, and as a former bartender, I enjoy testing them on preparing speciality drinks. So far they have passed every test. This is a great place to entertain business clients or just go for happy hour. It is also a classy place for a late night drink. We have eaten dinner at other Silo locations in the city and always found them to be very good. We have not yet had dinner at this location, but will do so soon.

One of our favorites!

By FickleFoodie |

We love stopping at Silo on the way home from work. Sitting on the Terrace and enjoying a cocktail and oysters is a great way to end the day. A couple of nights ago, we went for dinner and we were disappointed with the oysters. Every one had shell fragments. The rest of the meal was fabulous. We had two vegetarians with us and the chef is always accommodating and creative with a grain bowl loaded with fresh veggies. We also tried the tuna appetizer and the tuna dinner. Both were perfect. If I had to choose which one I prefer, it would be the appetizer! The waiters are always helpful and attentive. Don’t be scared to sit on the terrace - they have air vents out there that somehow keep it bearable even in the heat.

Such a let down!

By Scott L |

Having dined at the other Silo restaurants we were excited to have one near our home but were very disappointed with our experience. The "large plates" are really fairly small so if you're expecting a full meal you'd better count upon ordering more than a salad, shared appetizer and large plate. We also found it odd that the table was set with bread plates but there was no bread offered - our waitress explained (with a bit of attitude) that they were "sharing plates". So the food: Caesar salad with wet lettuce, hamachi appetizer was unremarkable being sashimi no better than at the nearby grocery store and a decent but very small filet mignon. The place is loud - some may say vibrant - but with a large group of women sitting nearby we had difficulty having our own conversation and frequently had to ask our waitress to repeat herself. For the price it's not worth repeating IMO.

Everything is stellar!

By gourmetlover |

Just went for my husbands birthday, and everything was beautifully prepared, delicious and presented. I highly recommend this outstanding restaurant. Matt, our server, was outstanding and very gracious.

Great food and service

By Carla H |

We had dinner there on a Saturday night. Recommend making reservations in advance. My dinner partners had the chicken fried oysters, crab cakes, red fish and lobster ravioli. All were beautiful on the plate and tasted great. For dessert we tried their signature toasted coconut cream pie and the chocolate tart. Both didn't disappoint. Server was great.

Outstanding Oysters and Seafood

By chefbillTexas |

Incredible selection of oysters on any given day. Patrick had 8 to choose from. Sea bass and lobster ravioli are worth the visit.

Delicious

By Jacquie G |

Four of us went to Silo's and enjoyed almost everything about it. The exception - although he improved - was Brandon our waiter. Our drink order was rather specific and he was smirking at us when we were trying to explain how we wanted our drinks. That really put me off. However, things improved and he turned out okay. The name "Silo Terrace Oyster Bar" is a bit of a misnomer. It makes one think that's all they serve. We all ordered different entrees - all of which were great. Salads were fresh, the fried oyster appetizer was amazing and the dessert - dark chocolate tart - was to die for!

Great Happy Hour at the bar.

By nysatx |

I honestly don't think that I have ever had a bad or disappointing meal at any of the Silo locations. The seafood here is always fresh and so well prepared, with great presentation. Very nice options for lunch as well. I especially enjoy Happy Hour in the bar area. They have a great selection of appetizers and more, often with some live music to enjoy. Keep it up!

Instant favorite

By jeremyf708 |

I had promised myself to cool it with these 5-star reviews. (I tend to only review a place when I love it, but that means I might look like an indiscriminate awarder of 5-star ratings.) I promised myself I'd review a few places I was only so-so about--a few 2- and 3-star reviews--before doing another 5-star. Then I took my wife to Silo Terrace Oyster Bar for our 5-year wedding anniversary. Those jerks ruined my plans, with an amazing dinner experience. 1. Ambiance: This is just a COOL place to eat at. You enter the front door and find yourself in a minimalist foyer with bottles of wine behind glass lining the walls. The host/hostess greets you and calls the elevator that takes you up to the restaurant. Maybe I'm too easily wowwed but this felt pretty chic. The restaurant itself is equally impressive. The interior design features lots of open space, reclaimed wood and great views overlooking the Dominion. Not too loud, either. That's a plus for me. 2. Service: Our waitress (Katherine, I think) was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. She kept our champagne glasses full, was able to answer every question we had about the menu and made great suggestions. 3. FOOD: The meal we had at Silo was one of the best we've eaten in San Antonio. I had the filet mignon and every bite of the filet was a rewarding experience. Cooked exactly as requested (medium), it was just one of those steaks that you loved to sink your teeth into and chew. Flavorful, tender, juicy. I think I could eat it every day for a week and not be tired of it. It came with blue cheese whipped potatoes and grilled asparagus. Both were delicious. Seriously, this was a meal where my plate was wiped clean at the end. (Their Bearnaise sauce was bliss.) My wife had the Chilean sea bass. Beautifully cooked--the golden-brown edges and corners were morsels to cherish. I love sea bass and hers was up there with the best I've had. (But I'm still glad I got the filet!) 4. Price: We got champagne, an appetizer and prime menu options. The tab was BIG--probably the most we've spent on a single meal for just the two of us in years. But we're already plotting when we can go back. It's not cheap to dine here but SIlo offers a great value in my opinion, because the portion sizes are big (a lot bigger than I was expecting honestly) and the food is *delicious.* This place just rocketed to to top of our favorites list.

Oyster Selections were Divine!

By LMK101 |

First time at the oyster bar. Surprised to the there were approximately 8 different oysters selections from PEI, MA, VA, CT all unusual that were excellent and tasty. The wine selections were good as well. Really great vibe on the fourth floor. The view is spectacular! It does get a bit crowded though, even with some restrictions from Covid. Good service. Good apps as well, the tuna and cheese plate were tasty. They also have an observation deck which is a few steps up from the bar, which may be reserved for a party as well. They do have the ability for a large (up to 10) party set up but it does get crowded. Nice time though!

Very Good Seafood-Based Dishes

By mattron780 |

Dined here to support one of our favorite restaurants during the current difficulties. Beet salad and spinach salad were very well put-together and very generously proportioned. The steamed mussels were small, but the accompanying sauce is a masterpiece. For entrees, the lobster wasis very good, and came with a surprising amount of lobster meat added as garnish. The roast chicken was good (just a quarter chicken, though, when I've had better half-chicken entrees elsewhere at a lower price), with very good mac & cheese and braised greens sides. As always, service was impeccable.

Dee-licious seafood.

By LetsGoSanAntonio |

Four of us shared a dozen oysters on the half shell. Chilled seafood platter. Chicken fried oysters and coconut pie. A nice bottle of bubbly and a Sonoma Chardonnay. All were top notch. Highly recommend.

Upscale fun!

By Heavenlycleaners |

very fresh and delicious! the setting is so elegant and we enjoyed coming downstairs to the bar and hanging out for the night there.

Nice venue

By L H |

Several of us got together for lunch recently here and none of us had been here before. It is located on the eastbound access road of IH10 in Dominion Ridge which is across from The Dominion. Parking was not an issue and you go into a lobby that has two walls with glass wine storage. You take an elevator up to the second floor to the dining area. We had a reservation and were seated timely. They have three seating areas with one being a partial outside terrace. The view from the window side overlooks The Dominion hillside homes. Our waiter, Evan was prompt, courteous and efficient. They offer paper menus and have a large selection of wine offerings by the glass and by the bottle. By the glass started at $12 and go up. We all choice different fare for our lunches which included: Silo Soup of the Day, which was Sweet Potato with bacon bits and chives $8, Grilled Oysters Rockefeller $17, Shrimp Nicoise $15, Baby Spinach Salad $9, Parmesan Crusted Chicken w/ angel hair pasta $15, and the Lobster Roll w/parmesan-herb fries $27. The presentation of the meals was very nice and the servings were what you would expect at this type venue. The food was good and everyone seemed to enjoy their choices, but we had to request bread as none was served. It came out warm, slightly grilled, but very dry and no butter. There were only a few people during the time we were there so no busy at all and the noise level was very low. Some ordered desert of the Sorbet and also the Chocolate Mousse and these were delicious. I believe these were around $10 or so as there were no prices on the dessert menus. We had a nice time for a "special lunch" gathering. This is not somewhere I would go just to have a quick lunch but for a special outing it was a good choice.

Lunch with Friends!

By Kerrville76 |

Drove over from Kerrville with 3 friends. Atmosphere was relaxing and the restaurant was very nice inside. Had reservations but wasn't crowded at 1:30. Food choices were excellent. And delicious. Our waiter seem to have an attitude or a bad day. Not friendly at all and non communicative but effiecent. Will go back again. Little pricey.

New Years eve

Always a treat! Great staff they work hard to make your experience special. Excellent wine list and the staff is very knowledge about the wine.

Worth the drive

By Steve S |

First visit to this seafood centric addition to the Silo family of restaurants. Both entrees (Ahi Tuna & Halibut) were excellent. Plating was visually appealing. Generous portions. Habanero infused Bloody Mary is an excellent starter.

Customer service at the next level!!

By Jim J |

Made reservations for our anniversary dinner on a Sunday evening. Daniel was our waiter and did a remarkable job!! From our complementary champagne flutes (waitstaff overheard our conversation - first class) to a great oyster appetizer recommendation, on to the amazing oak tuna and lobster risotto entrees a great bottle of wine to the cheesecake desert - everything was perfect. This will be our new go-to at the Dominion. Thanks Silo!!

Update on oysters - they are awesome in November

By Bill F |

I reviewed the Oyster Bar in August, and was somewhat disappointed with the oysters on the half shell. But returned in November, and had a totally enjoyable experience on the deck, and some of the best oysters ever. Perfectly shucked - not one tiny piece of shell among the dozen. $20.00 for dozen of the most delicious oysters you can imagine during happy hour on the deck. Again enjoyed an excellent cheese plate, plus the spinach salad with crispy brie. Service was better than great.

NYE Experience with Friends

By mipps1 |

After the holiday hustle and bustle, we needed something quiet, comfortable and delicious. Quite frankly, we wanted to be taken care of instead of hosting! Silo Terrace Oyster Bar always delivers. Both the food and service are consistently outstanding. This night our group enjoyed a variety of dishes from both fresh and chicken fried oysters to beef tenderloin and shrimp along with a selection of both menu and off menu craft cocktails. It was NYE, after all.

Dinner

By hungryranch |

Great oysters on half shell. Dinner was only ok. My redfish ($29) and my wife's Halibut ($42) were both somewhat over cooked. Seasoning on halibut was delicious. Redfish served on a bed of potatoes and yams. Somewhat dry. For four people, the oysters, two half priced bottles of wine ( on Mondays) 4 entrees, a couple of salads and desserts was $300.00. Tip about $60. Seemed a bit high. For that price seafood preparation should be perfect. On the bright side our server was great. Attentive but not in our faces. Knew about the dishes and could explain how they were prepared. Knowledgeable about the wines. May give them another chance but at the prices they need to get it right.

Excellent dinner

By kellithetaz |

Enjoyed a nice Al fresco dinner on the patio at Silo tonight. The chicken fried oysters were delicious. The weather was great on the patio & we could actually hear to talk with each other. The inside seating seemed very cramped when I walked through several times.service was ok, but not outstanding.

Excellent Service and Food

By Jim C |

We had a largish group of 15 for a business dinner. Cocktails at the bar were excellent. We had a private room for dinner. The oysters (fried and fresh), crab cakes and calamari were all very good. Entrees were served to our entire group by a team of servers within a minute, truly impressive. Reviews of the food were uniformly positive. A great experience.

A place to go

By Philippe D |

Been there 5 times since we moved in San Antonio a year ago.. Today was the best experience we have had, first is the service, our wish was to not be served in a hurry, done ! Wine serviced perfectly and the waiter knows his job (he made the difference regarding our past experiences for this). And his service, from the start to the end,was at an high level. As was the food. Just one thing, the fish was a bit, and I say a bit, overcooked, but this daily fish plate was wonderful. Today was close to a one star Michelin. Congratulations to the chef and the team.

Awful! Experience, Staff, Food, just not representative of Silo Austin Highway

By Jennifer V |

I'm not certain what has happened to the quality and food selections at Silo. This was my second visit to Silo Dominion and it was even worse than my first adventure. I don't know if the restaurant was a franchise, or sold to a different owner. Regardless, not something we are interested in supporting.

One word: Yum!

By mragan |

Without a doubt, one of the best meals I've had anywhere. Chicken fried oysters were amazing and the seared scallops perfect. I wish I had saved room for dessert!

Excellent Service, Excellent Food, Excellent Bar Drinks

By Don A |

Had a reservation. Seated in the outside area, which has a visual barrier but lets the breeze through with horizontal boards on alternating sides of the posts. It is under a roof. Water provided as we sat down. The Clam Chowder was excellent. Many bar choices. There were at least a dozen different brands of Bourbon. I had the Chicken Fried Oysters. They were excellent. My friend had Redfish and said it was also excellent. It is interesting that two top tier restaurants are in the same center. ( The other being Aldos ). Did not try the desserts

What an amazing surprise!

By Margaret D |

We have visited the small shopping area but never noticed Silo before, I think because it is on the top of the shopping area. Someone tipped us off to this gem so we decided to give it a try. It exceeded all expectations! A quick elevator ride to the second floor gave way to chic décor, lovely service and an amazing menu. Since it was our first time we decided to share and try a little of everything. Started with the petite seafood chilled-shrimp, crab and oysters, super fresh and delicious! Next we shared a bowl of the clam chowder; loaded with clams and a smoky bacon vibe, creamy and wonderful. We settled on fried oysters next and wow they were surprising with a crispy texture and came with pork belly! Lastly we got the homemade lobster ravioli; handmade pasta with chunks of soft poached lobster on top. It was a creamy sauce that tasted of brandy, chives and lemons. My husband thought the chef should add a diablo version of the dish to make the spicy lovers happy! I just loved it. We finished our bottle of prosecco with a slice of key lime pie. My only recommendation would be to amp up the crust to give more texture to the very creamy, and yummy pie filling. But the BEST part of the night was getting to meet our server Elizabeth, who guided us through the menu, made thoughtful suggestions and made our evening very cheerful. We can't wait to go back.

Its Oyster Season

By Roy |

Love this place, really good food, main menu is online. What is not online is happy hour menu. We buy $100 of gift cards at Costco for $80 just a couple of miles south of the restaurant and head for happy hour. Half priced east and west coast oysters, drink and appetizer specials. Their chicken fried oysters are a must. The lobster roll makes the grade. Calamari is special, way better than avg. Dinner menu items are fantastic but I rarely get past the oysters, calamari and beer. Their mac and cheese is excellent. My son loves their freshly made chicken tenders which I do not think are on the menu except now that he is a teen he is eating my oysters. Happy hour is on a sheltered and heated outdoor enclosed patio or terrace. Dress appropriately for weather. If you like fine seafood I recommend this place

Wonderful evening

By Carlos M |

We went for drinks and had oysters at the bar, we've been there before for dinner and Vanessa took care of us. Service was impeccable at the bar and dinner. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Superb meal.

By Edituout |

We were in from out of town and looking for something local to eat. Finally decided on Terrace and WOW. I will absolutely come back. The tuna and redfish were superb! Now, the truffle mac and cheese...that has to be the best mac and cheese I've ever had, it was phenomenal. The place has a really cool/chill vibe and our server, Jacob was excellent. Can't wait to come back and try more things!

Impressive Seafood Restaurant Near The Dominion

By RABabcock |

After several years of procrastinating, I finally dropped by for lunch and "Impressive" is the adjective to describe my friend and my dining experience. Service (Elizabeth) was attentive, congenial and professional. We had the S.T.O.B. Mixed oysters plate, followed by Crispy Calamari. The calamari was lightly battered and tasty. The in-house cocktail sauce had a nice spicy kick and the Mustard Aioli was perfect on this hot summer day. My friend and I both had the Lobster Roll and the meat was fresh and sweet. We both shared a Truffle Mac & Cheese dish which was light and flavorful, complementing our sandwiches. We enjoyed the Black Currant Iced Tea, different but refreshing. Additionally, the Day Manager, Ms. Sara stopped and introduced herself and I was impressed with her vast culinary knowledge, excellent inter-personal communication skills, perpetually-in-motion to cover all her duties and responsibilities, and all with a positive attitude. After meeting with Ms. Sara, quality of our lunch, excellent service (Elizabeth), I will be returning to this excellent seafood restaurant.

Started visiting this location on recommendation from a friend. We are regulars now. Whether it with our whole family or just a quiet dinner with my wife. we love this location. The food is excellent the staff is great. Convenient location for us. The wine selection is very good and the staff is knowledgeable about what they offer. I do wish the dessert menu had a wider selection. Overall the place is awesome.

Restaurant Week visit with Friends

By TexasJane09 |

We are long time local fans of Silo, from their beginnings on Austin Highway, but this is my favorite of their restaurants. Their seafood selection is probably the best in the city and their fried oysters are always delicious. Several other favorites are their Fried Green tomatoes with lump crab meat, fresh oysters and their Seafood Tower, which we usually share as a meal. We also appreciate their "small plate" options.

Great Date Night at New Seafood "Cousin" Addition to The Silo Family

By Dcantu |

My wife and I recently visited Silo Oyster Bar (affectionately "SOB") on a recent late Friday Night Dinner. We loved: -The smaller/romantic atmosphere. -SOB might have some of the best raw seafood offerings in San Antonio. The Tuna Carpaccio and the selection of three different raw oysters were amazing. -Best Oysters Rockefeller we've ever had. We were fighting over the delicious, buttery, bacony, briny dish that was cruelly served with 5 oysters to a dining party of 2. -Our server was confident, knowledgable and had a great demeanor which helped our experience immensely. What we thought was good, not great: -Both my wife's scallop entree and my redfish entree were good, but missed that stroke of perfection that you hope to get at a finer dining establishment. Half of my fish was just slightly overcooked and the scallops had good flavor but weren't great. Wish we could change: -The location. It's a hike as its a good 3 miles northwest of 1604 on I-10. -Had to wait 15 minutes on a reserved table

Not a clone of it's sister restaurants

By Elizabeth W |

Booked a 6:15pm reservation for four. We were a little late due to the weather, but found the restaurant easily. The hostess greeted us warmly and sent us up to our table. Our server was Alisha and she was wonderful. She knew her menu and was able to answer all the questions we had about preparation of various dishes. We started with a bottle of Sea Glass Sauvignon Blanc which went well with the Irish Point & Oysterville raw oysters. We then went on to order the Grilled Oysters Rockefeller, with fennel cream, garlic bread crumbs,& Parmesan. We decided to stick to small plates and shared each of them so we all got to try everything. Our next choice was the Truffle Mac & Cheese. YUMMMMM! We ate it with the Szechuan Pepper Calamari & switched to a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Really good with the Calamari. The best part of that dish was the dipping sauce. It elevated the calamari from okay to outstanding. Our next small plate was the PEI Mussels steamed in Fireman's 4 beer, toasted garlic, roasted cherry tomatoes, bacon & charred French bread. I am not usually a fan of red sauced mussels, but this was enough to change my mind. The mussels disappeared from the dish faster than you can say "more bread please". The mussels were firm and the sauce delish. One of our party had never had mussels before and he is now a big fan! All of our white wine was gone by the time we ordered the Steak Tartare made with Dijon mustard, shallots, capers, sea salt & truffle oil. We had a glass of Farrier meritage with the tartare and it matched perfectly. We also shared the Rosemary & Black Pepper fries. The rosemary was not overbearing in this dish & I would order this again. In fact we would order all of the food and wine again. Next time we come we will have to try large plates. This is the first time I have been to a Silo restaurant when I didn't order the signature Chicken Fried Oysters and nothing we had makes me regret missing my favorite dish (next time we will order that small plate!)

My "go to" place...when I can afford it!

By kevinwooton |

I love this place...unabashedly. It's convenient and they serve great food. Been there several times, most recently a couple of weeks ago for happy hour on the terrace bar. Great for business dinners, meeting for drinks, or after hours wind-down. Honestly, it's just a little expensive--I guess you get what you pay for! Superb, amazing oysters! Fresh seafood. The crab cakes literally were some of the best I've ever tasted--and I've had the best the Chesapeake area has to offer. Service is outstanding--very knowledgeable wait staff with respect to wine and spirits and the food. Great place to try something new or different. And, once again, you will get a big smile on your face if you order the chef's selection of a dozen oysters...

Loved this place

By scullisn |

Went to dinner here while visiting San Antonio with my spouse. Great start off with beautiful gin martini for me & jalapeño margarita for wife. She followed that with a perfect salad, I had a variety of 6 fresh, raw & absolutely perfect oysters. For dinner I chose Cioppino while she had scallops. We finished every bit of it & service was impeccable Worth every penny

Fantastic Lunch!

By southtexasgirl53 |

We had been to the Silo on 1604, but found that this Silo has an entirely different menu, mush more emphasis on seafood. Our entrees, the red fish and the snapper were wonderful. The red fish was served on a bed of Israeli couscous. It was moist and delectable. We ate every bite of our entrees, even though we had ordered appetizers also. My dining companion had half a dozen oysters, the selection is wide and varied, both in locale and method of preparation. He had a mixed assortment. Oyster lovers should definitely dine here, even though the oysters are expensive, $3.75 per oyster if ordered individually. The only less than enjoyable item was the fried green tomato salad, topped with lobster. The lobster was great but the fried green tomatoes were hard and lacking in flavor. All in all, it was a delightful experience. We intend to return for lunch and order a lighter lunch so we can sample the wonderful dessert selection offered. Service was attentive and the waiter personable. You are made to feel a welcome guest here.

Excellent experience tonight at Silo

By bobncomfort |

Met two longtime friends for dinner tonight. We all commented on how great the service was (Drayton was our waiter), how we could carry on a conversation without talking over lots of noise or music. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Overall a 5 Star experience.

6 for Dinner

By Laurence |

Dinner for 6, we made reservations, of course. Five of us were very happy with the selections we made. For Apps we had the Grilled Oysters Rockefeller and the Parmesan & Herb Fries, both were very good! For Dinner we had the Pan Seared Scallops, Shrimp and Grits, a dozen oysters, the fish of the day and the Miso Glazed Salmon. All the dishes were very good except for the Miso Glazed Salmon, which was returned and taken off our ticket. With 5 others eating we all shared our food. While the remaining 5 dishes were good my favorites were my Scallops and the Shrimp and Grits. The place was packed and were sat near the kitchen. It’s a nice table but hot. Something interesting to share is while we were having dinner someone who worked at there came by and said “This is a good table near all the action, but hot. You should come back during the winter this is the best table in the house.” The unfortunate thing is we there there in the middle of summer so I guess this is the worst table during the summer, but i guess its better then eating outside. Over all we had a good dinner and good drinks.

Not a fan of the 1604 Silo, but the I10 oyster bar rocks!

By wmbSanAntonio_Texas |

I always thought of Silo as kinda meh. When our friends wanted to go to the I-10 location, I wasn't that excited. Man, was I in for a surprise. The fried green tomato salad could have gone wrong in so many ways, but it was amazing. The halibut special was great. My wife had the cioppino..... a whole lotta seafood... she loved it! The space is well designed..not what you expect from the strip center location and our server was friendly and knew her way around the menu. If you are staying in La Cantera, Silo on I10 is well worth the trip.

Fantastic addition to the area!!!!!

By mthreecubed |

Now there is a fabulous restaurant very close to The Dominion. The same quality food and great service as at the other Silo locations that have had years of success in San Antonio. My favorite dish is the scallop entree. A terrific combination of flavors and textures with fresh, sweet scallops. After several dinners, we tried this location for lunch and found the club sandwich and the entree salads to be excellent choices. This is the best restaurant for miles in any direction.

Awesome Anniversary!

By davidmende |

We had such a great time for our Anniversary! The cocktails were great with a play on the mixers, awesome wine selection and the Food was truly great. Starting with some fresh Oysters that were Amazing! Our server was definitely on his game that night, suggesting the right wine & sides to accompany our meal. Then our desserts out is truly over the top! We never were in need or lacked a thing. Service was great! Great looking place, open kitchen & a great Terrace bar.

Outstanding Dining Experience

By D C |

We have been here for lunch and dinner and the restaurant never disappoints. The staff are warm and friendly from the front desk in the lobby throughout dinner. Service is impeccable. But, as much as we appreciate the service, the food is even better. All dishes that we have had were outstanding. Great wine selection. The ambiance is wonderful...a small cozy dining experience. We will be regular customers for those special evenings out. Highly recommend.

Marvelous Monday Dinner on the Way Home

By EdStory |

We were driving home from a trip to Houston and stopped at Silo as our friend with us had been there the week before. It was everything he said and then some. We had oysters, crab,a beet salad, sashimi and a wonderfully prepared fish. The wine list was great and a special Monday pricing makes it even more approachable. Brandon looked after us with consummate care. A most welcome addition to our path home to the Hill Country and will become a part of our normal itinerary.

Happy hour specials on the terrace were great fun.

By Bill F |

Terrace was pleasant at 5 pm, even thought temperature was 90+. I had the happy hour special of a dozen oysters (chief selection) for $20. Oysters were not the best quality, but I believe that is due to being middle of August, which is not peak season for oysters. Still they were perfectly shucked, nicely presented, and I enjoyed them. We also shared a cheese plate appetizer, which was excellent. 3 delicious cheeses, honey comb, almonds, and awesome house made crackers. Amount of cheese was much larger than expected, with half taken home. Went into the dinning room for dinner, and ordered the fresh catch of the day, which was red snapper. It was excellent, perfect preparation, and a very large serving. Small plate crab cake was also very good. Servers, both inside and out, did a great job. We really enjoyed the total package.

Outstanding seafood

By Alan G |

This our second visit to this Silo location and it was outstanding. The food was excellent in all ways from appetizer (blue point oysters) to entrees (sea bass and redfish) and desert (sorbet and coconut pie). Service was likewise great, as it is at all Silo locations. The place is small, so reservations are a must, especially in summer when outdoor terrace/bar is not a great option.

Same taste and quality, but only seafood here

By Brian B |

We are big fans of the other two locations, and were somewhat surprised at there being only two non seafood entree options even though it is named 'oyster terrace'. Had a wonderful dinner, and while the wife thought service was slow, I did not notice. Had the black pepper calamari, salads, the red snapper, and coconut pie for dessert. Place was smaller and almost full in and outside at 7 on a Thursday. Bar area is outside, which is unusual as it is close to freeway, and soon to be closer when I-10 is widened from 4 to 8 lanes in coming years.

Small and Intimate

By Jeanie S |

We have been here on date-night, with friends and had a graduation dinner in a private room. All visits were fantastic. Food is always delicious and the wine selection is great! The lights are dim with candles glowing and the energy in the air is nice. The outdoor bar on the roof is really fun. You won't be disappointed.

Mothers Day Brunch

By BLatiolais |

Booked the Mother's Day Brunch by calling the restaurant. At no point in the call or the text I received did they mention a set menu. Pork Chops, some kind of fish, filet, and Egg shrimp and andouille omelet where the meat was purified into the one egg omelet 50.00 for the omelet, small salad and desert was a little much. Have eaten here several times and always great service and food but the value of Mother's Day Brunch was really not worth it. Had we known we would have never booked with such a menu. This was not a brunch menu by any means.

Great Food & Service!!

By jeff o |

Our Seafood was Delicious!! Probably one of the best meals we have had in San Antonio!! Our Server Chris was Special!! He was knowledgeable and attentive!! House Wines were not good, so we ordered a bottle of Chateau Montelana Cabernet 2012. $90.00 a bottle, but worth the money!! The View is good if you keep your sights high and on the Dominion Village. We liked how they had a Door between the Bar and Restaurant to cut down on noise, but the hard floors and ceilings still need some

Truly excellent!

By BobUT1973 |

We went celebrate our anniversary. We were immediately offered celebratory glasses of champagne. Wes was our server and he's tremendous at his craft. Every course was delicious, starting with chicken fried oysters. Wes suggested we split the salad (he was right) and then I had the cod special and the Mrs. had lobster. Both exceeded our high expectations. This was our first time at this Silo but it will definitely not be the last.

Kinda empty however...

By Hector L |

Although it was rather empty, it was a wed at 2P. Our server (forgot her name, my fault, I’m getting old. She was a knockout light redhead) She was great. I had the blackened mahi mahi. It was very fresh and tasty; albeit on the small portion side). It was served over mashed potatoes with asparagus. (A bit too much butter) but hey my heart is just fine. my wife had the small plate of chicken fried oysters. It was very good. Caesar salad was again very good on the small side. Dessert was the coconut creme pie, absolutely delicious! Overall excellent meal, we will be back definitely!

Seafood gem!

By Katmbowers |

Tried SILO Terrace after accidentally discovering the new location on OpenTable. My husband and I have been to the other locations and enjoyed them both. But I think that this one is my favorite. It's menu is seafood based and awesome and the ambiance was just great. Service (Bryan I think) was great as well. I started with fried green tomatoes topped with lump crab meat. Delicious! They were out of my first choice, the scallops, so I had Seabass instead, which was pretty good...I just had my mind ready for scallops. Had a side of quinoa that I hated, but it was the only thing I didn't eat. The muddled cucumber martini drink was AMAZING. Didn't try desert but I'm sure we'll be back for a second round.

Anniversary dinner.

By Jacquie G |

This is just a fun place and the food and drinks are outstanding. It's a fairly busy restaurant so I suggest reservations if possible. We went several months ago so I can't remember what we ate but we have frequented another Silo's (Alamo Heights) and it was excellent too.

Jan 11 on the Terrace

By Bill F |

75 degrees in mid-January. Couldn't be better. Cheese plate is by far the best outside of the UK. Crab cake is jumbo lump, oysters are fresh and perfectly shucked. Service staff is great, and happy hour prices are a deal. 12 oysters for $21 is tough to beat.

Great

By skgcdl |

We are not a fan of the 1604 location, but this was great food & quiet. Seafood & steaks great. Can't wait For happy hour visit

Enjoyable Evening

By BLatiolais |

Food and service was excellent. The tenderloins were perfect and the ladies raved about their lobster ravioli and halibut dishes.

A disappointment

By Allen B |

This is a second story restaurant to the West of I-10 across from the Dominion. Their limited menu consists mostly of sea food. The facility was clean and nicely decorated and the waiter was excellent. I ordered their Fish and Chips (two pieces of cod) priced at 21$. It came with fries and a lemon segment and two dipping sauces. I can unequivocally say that this was the worst fried battered cod I have tasted anywhere, with just a little bit of cod that was completely mushy. The fries and dipping sauce were good. Very expensive for mediocre food. The internet menu priced the fish and chips at $15, whereas the price on the printed menu had been marked up to $21.

Excellent choice in San Antonio

By surf_golf |

I really enjoyed my visit to Silo. The appetizers were great and the main dish was delicious. Highly recommended.

Best Seafood!

By Debra W |

My most favorite meal! Great quality seafood - worth the price! My hubby and I just ordered "small plates" and we loved it! We tried several dishes and did not leave disappointed... Crab Cake, Oysters Rockefeller, King Crab Legs and Bisque! Delicious!!!!!

Cozy and Great Service!!

By jeff o |

Matt was a Wonderful Server for our Foursome!! He is very knowledgeable and helpful with Wine and Food Suggestions!! Oysters Rockefeller were not my favorite. They were skimpy with the Spinach and not creamy. All other seafood was very good!!

Very good

By Alan G |

Fourth visit to this great seafood place. As with all Silo’s locations, the service and ambiance are great. Food likewise, lobster, ciopino and sea bass, all excellent. Nice wine list, nice dessert choices. All the Silo locations are worth a try.

Everything was Amazing!

By Carebear2011 |

Our waiter suggested the best options for each of us. The lady finger oyster, filet, chicken oyster, French fries, and bread pudding was absolutely divine!

Fills a Void in NW San Antonio

By rOncAkiNca36 |

The restaurant owners are brilliant, because they offer what no other restaurant does along the IH-10 corridor outside Rte. 1604: high quality seafood, appetizers, and a very deep wine menu in a vibrant atmosphere. One can come here to dine, have a dozen outstanding oysters, a salad, and a dish or two for the table to share and be absolutely satisfied. Moreover, the New England-style clam chowder is as tasty as a bowl you might get at No Name Restaurant in Boston. Other scrumptious dishes we've tried at Silo Terrace are the crab cake, the tuna carpaccio, and the awesome desserts. Two thumbs up -- WAY up.

Amazing food, cool and hip spot

By John L |

Been here multiple times now and have tried the entire menu. The oysters are great and unique, no gulf oysters just specialty ones that have different flavors=delicious. Al the apps are great, seafood tower is a great meal by itself and they also have stone crab when in season. Although it is mainly seafood the steak is a great choice and a very good filet or ribeye when on special. The Tristan island lobster tail is fantastic when it is available. All the are delicious, make sure to order the Halibut if they have it on special. It usually sells out early. I have missed out on hebhalibutbheastvtwontimes I have been there. The wine selection is insane! If you are dining outside, Marty is the regular bartender and can make all kinds of awesome drinks. If you want a great meal with a cool vibe and incredible service...then this is your spot!!!

the best dining in the dominion area

By ada d |

When we made reservations, we let them know that 3 people in our party were allergic to seafood, and upon arriving we were taken care of in the nicest way, the kitchen was notified and they were extremely careful not to contaminate our food. Service was impeccable and dishes were well presented and cooked to our specifications. Not one complaint at all. Sad to see that some people don't dress for dinner anymore, some men were dressed in ugly looking shorts and sandals, which should NOT be allowed.

Good seafood

By CEO |

We had a nice dinner at this restaurant. Staff were pleasant and efficient. We were promptly seated soon after a warm greeting from the reception. They have a separate menu for fresh oysters. House specialty cocktails were excellent. Starters were a dozen oysters and chicken fried oysters. Simply delicious- oysters were plump, sweet and fresh. The spinach, fried green tomatoes and roasted beet salads were very good. All ingredients were fresh. Mains were Seabass, Redfish and Red snapper- fresh, moist and sweet! The toasted coconut pie was just the right ending to a fabulous dinner. Wait staff were attentive and gave us enough time between courses to relax and enjoy our wine. Overall a nice place to enjoy good quality seafood.

Birthday Dinner

By Mark338CAV |

Absolutely phenomenal evening! Our entire dinner was top notch from start to finish. The drinks came as we received our oysters- perfect timing. The Prince William Sound oysters are to die for. We had a wonderful evening. We will be back.
