Was there only because of my family like it. The food is average. No fun at all the atmosphere. Not my kind of thinks.

Superb buffet lots of choices , staff friendly and helpful , loads of room, very clean , parking all around the restaurant can be busy at the weekends .

The chinese buffet near our house closed down and we went looking for a new one. Lucky for us this was near by also and we had never been here. Lots of items on the buffet. They were hot and fresh ... I was most impressed when I noticed several asian families eating there as well as noticing several more entering while we were there. Best asian food I've had in a while, so go check it out.

My husband and I had decent service. The food was good, not excellent, nor bad. It was busy with a good diversity of customers. They have Sushi, a couple of kid friendly choices (pizza, chicken nuggets, etc), seafood and a good variety of different dishes. While, I would recommend trying the spring (rice paper) rolls with the peanut sauce, my husband did not like them. So, basically this is your average Chinese buffet.

buffet with genuine Chinese food, lots of food choices, veggies, meat, seafood, good services too....

Between the choice of greasy american fast food and chinese food, I always choose the later. This restaurant had been recommended to us by our landlord, so I gave it a chance. Good food for reasonable price. On weekend very crowded, so be early. On these days a little bit more attention to the rest rooms would be nice, as there are some people visiting, which leave them quite messy. So it´s not a top restaurant, you have a wide choice of tasty food, to fit everyones needs.

This is a nice place to if you like Chinese buffets. There are a wide variety of food choices. The staff is attentive to drink refills. For a Chinese restaurant, it's clean too.

The food is gross, the buffet line is gross, this is a place I won't visit again. I don't understand how it's been open as long as it has. People need to raise their standards for Chinese food. Seriously.

Very well cared for. Variety was fantastic! Glad to see lots of vegetables! Definitely good value! Always looking for a big Chinese buffet every where I go and this one I will go back to!!

We knew that we were in Texas when there were a whole lot of spicy items on the buffet. Some of the non spicy options were: shrimp cocktail, wonton soup, ribs, and crab ragoon - which they called something else. They were all very good. We also enjoyed the ice cream for dessert. Don't bother with the pastries.

A good time was had by all. Food was fresh and hot. Price was good.Staff was friendly. It is a really clean place also.

Good food, but not great. Buffet style. Good variety of food. Many of the steam table pans were too full, so food on top is cold. Would not eat there again.

Great service, attentive; very large, clean, well lit buffet conveniently close to the medical center; lots of options if you're dining with a group, from fruits and vegetables and salad bar to traditional Chinese dishes and other items, including desserts and soups; Note that if you are getting a to-go box, you will be charged extra for vegetables or if the box top pops open when dropped on the counter!

There are a lot of Chinese buffets in Houston, but this might be the best. The diverse crowd of working and professional people are proof. Beside offering a huge array of standard Chinese dishes (including seafood), sushi and desserts, the service and and management are extremely efficient. So, even though it might seem crowded, people get back to work on time. For under $12, it cannot be beaten.

At $10 for an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet, this place is a bargain. Great selection and good quality food: soups, veg lo mein, egg rolls, and all the classics incorporating beef, pork, chicken, salmon, sole, and shrimp. Excellent dessert buffet with baked goods and melon. Just down road from med center and NRG. You'll see all kinds of people here, from doctors in scrubs to retirees to construction workers. Everyone gets along because we are all there for the same reason : tasty and abundant cheap food. Very well managed -- service great.

This is one of my husband's favorite places to eat. It has many, many choices, including the expected items like fried rice, dumplings, pork ribs but also has pizza, chicken nuggets, yeast dinner rolls. I like the shrimp and the soups (I mix won ton, hot and sour together....great!) It is easy to stay on your New Years Resolution Diet here as there are lots of fish, vegetables and salads. This place is busy most of the time so nothing sits very long on the steam tables and they are careful to change things out quickly. They don't use much, if any, MSG as it bothers me a lot and I can eat here with no problems!

It was my first visit to Houston and my parents took me to this restaurant. I must say, the food was very tasty; not at all what I expected. The selections of God were quite pleasing. My dad fell in love with the crab. We actually visited there twice in one week. And the price was not bad at all

Nearby Texas medical center, close to Rice village, Hermann park, next to Houston Museum District. Chinese and Japanese cuisine buffet restaurant, fresh shrimp with black pepper sauce, fried crab, Szechuan style shrimp and chick and beef, BBQ rib, grilled steak, fried dumpling, general Joe's chick, sweet & sour chick, King pal beef and chick, fried chick wing, hot & sour soup, won ton soup, various sushi, plenty of cakes and Guangdong Dim Sam, fresh fruits too. For short lunch time period and trip, here is super large space, won't let us wait too long. here is a right place in crowded medical center area. And just cost for $12-$15.

Great value! Great food! Great service! Needed an affordable place for lunch while at a conference near the Galleria...clean spacious well worth it!

Great options and variety! They do every dish very well. Drink and dinner buffet was 28 bucks n change. A little high but worth it. $9.29 for lunch buffet and $11.49 for dinner. Best in the area in my humble opinion.

I kind of hate to write a negative review about Silver Palace Chinese restaurant, because it was a favorite of mine for several years. The food is good and fresh and the variety is excellent for the price. Here's why I'm writing a negative review now. I noticed that they have a "party room" available, and I decided to hold a meeting there. The deal is that every person in the party buys a meal. I guaranteed that there would be 25 to 40 people attending, and Silver Palace agreed that we could have exclusive use of the "party room" for three hours. Only about 20 people actually showed up. About an hour and a half into our meeting a short fat man with very bad breath busted in. He seemed to be a manager, and irritably beckoned to me. He told me it "wasn't his problem" that a small number of people showed up. He said I was going to have to pay for 120 dinners, since the room could hold 120 people, and he was losing money. I reminded him that our deal was that I would guarantee a minimum of 25 to 40, and he got really nasty with me. I considered calling the cops, but felt that would completely disrupt my meeting. I finally agreed to pay for 50 dinners, and end the meeting an hour early. I left feeling completely ripped off. The "manager" isn't very good at managing. I'll never set foot in the place again - and I had been eating there at least every other week for years. Nobody who attended the meeting will ever dine there again either. All in all, that amounts to several hundred sales they will lose. Oh well... I'll miss the great food.

Great buffet, lots of yummy hot entrees to choose from....the price is also very good, and they keep your table cleared and drinks refilled really quickly. The place is very big and they have lots of table so we didn't have to wait to be seated.

If you're looking for a good Chinese buffet with a variety of items for around $12 a person, then this is the place for you. Some of my favorites are: Sweet N sour chicken, honey chicken, deep battered shrimp, shrimp and vegetables, fried rice, egg rolls, sweet n sour pork, and fried chicken wings. The pizza isn't bad either for a chinese buffet. My wife loves the fish (fried and baked). Can't go wrong with ice cream and a brownie for dessert. Good buffet, gets a little crowded but not too bad.

Meh. Perfect word for this very popular buffet. Lunch prices for the buffet and a drink were about $14/ There were a lot of items on the buffet, although some were mislabeled (some sort of pineapple or sweet and sour pork were under a label that said "crab," for example). Others had no label at all. Overall, what struck me about this buffet was that the food just didn't seem to have much flavor. It wasn't awful, but it didn't seem to hit the spot that other buffets have. If you have kids, they'll be happy here. Nestled among the pepper steak and kung pao chicken was a tray of chicken nuggets and crinkle-cut fries! Service was pretty good, especially during a busy lunch rush... but the food was underwhelming.

The range of courses was almost unlimited to wet anyone's appetite! I tried several of them....bbq red pork ribs...stir fried pork ribs..stir fried veg..Szechuan chicken..stir fried beef..vermicelli noodles...& they were all excellent! The value was unbelievable!

plates were so dirty food. nasty scared i was gonna die never going back. poop on a plate horrible. service horrible place in my nightmares worse than actual chinese street food

This is my young daughter's favorite place to eat. I enjoy it as well for its wide choices of seafood. Depending on the day, you can find clams, mussels, crab legs (small), and variously prepared fish and shrimp. It's not a four starred restaurant, but for the price and a buffet, it's great. Since they don't have a menu, they pay close attention to the food and replace trays often. They don't let it sit there just because there is still a little bit of food. It comes out fast and hot. Wait staff is quick to check your drink needs and are courteous.

My drink never got below half empty. So many different ways to cook shrimp. BIG shrimp. I am 60 years old, I think this is the best Chinese buffet I have ever been to. Everything was cooked just right.

I rate the food as average. The egg drop soup was hot and good and tasty. Everything else on the menu range from beef, chicken and fish. The food was warm but not hot or cold. The orange chicken I had did not really have a taste ( I actually rate this below average based on other restaurants). The group I was with had some of the sushi. The sushi had mixed reviews. From good to maybe had been out to long. For the price you will get good food. However there are other restaurants to try.

Good food, large selection. Have eaten there for years. I like the din sum (fried dumplings) with a spicy sauce. Also the salmon, many others.

A friend of mine came from out of town for a visit to the Med center. He wanted Chinese food and a buffet. I looked around on my apps and saw this place. It is right across from Whole Foods. Decent place and the food was about as good or maybe a little better than most Chinese buffets. It had a wide verity of foods and had Sushi table. Large dessert table and a lot of good seafood dishes.

Rude staff. Bad experience. Food is not fresh. If you use credit card to pay, be careful with your personal information and don't forget to check the credit card statement. This is the worst Chinese restaurant in Texas.

Reason for toss up? This restaurant does a booming business and rightly so for they have a comfortable seating arrangement and their buffet food offerings are really great! I have been a dozen times. However, from the hostesses to the wait staff to the checkout to the manager they are extremely unfriendly. One would think that the asian hostesses would say "Welcome to the Silver Palace." A sober face, no words other than "What to drink?" 9 times out of 10 the wait staff do not ask you if you need help. There is typically no word exchanged. Finally, if you do your own checkout the ladies look down, almost as if you were a bother. I spoke to the manager and complimented him greatly on the food and decor. But when I mentioned the above story he with a tinge of animosity curtly replied, "I'll speak to them about this." When I heard his reply (being manager) I could easily see why the staff were as they are. If food is all that matters and politeness is not important by all means go, otherwise forget it!

Semi regular diners here at their buffet and always good. Good selection of the things I like and always fresh tasting. Had a late lunch today with friends and they are regulars here too. Their experience matches ours. They keep the restaurant as clean as possible and service is quick. Clean restroom but needed refill of paper towels. Told attendant and he took care of it. Parking was nearly full, but got close. Look forward to going back again soon.

1st time going here. Last time coming here. 80% of the food we got was Luke warm and soggy. They had good reviews but we must have caught them on a bad night.

This was probably the best Chinese buffet I've been too in Houston. There was a very big selection and everything was hot and very good.

I have been to several Chinese Buffets and this one seems to be better than most. The selection is good, the price is good and the service is also good. Definitely worth checking out.

I love Chinese buffets even though people tend to really knock the food quality. I thought the quality here was pretty average for a Chinese buffet. Fewer deep fried main dishes than I am used to and the General Tso's here was not good but pizza, nuggets and fries for my kids as well as soft serve ice cream. But its a big buffet that should have something for anyone. The stand out here was we had the best service I have ever had at a Chinese buffet. Our drinks were filled and plates were cleared constantly and the staff was super friendly.

I have been enjoying The Silver Palace for well over ten years. The food bins are always full. They have the best dumplings of any Chinese buffet. I bring my grandchildren here and they love it! This is the Chinese buffet by which I judge all other Chinese buffets.

Great chinese buffet. I particularly enjoy the soups and main chinese entrees. Great variety and food is pretty good.
🙌
My family has been coming here for years. The food is good/ decent. We like the fact that we can also order a la carte. We were dinning this past weekend and were simply amazed of how the staff assisted a group of about 10 handicapped ppl. They were very attentive of them. One of the guest was blind and the manager took her by the hand guided her to the steam table. He grabbed a plate described all the food that was available and asked if she wanted this or that. After serving her he then brought her back to the table with the others. The group had several waiters and all were helping them. Once they raised their hand the waiter would come and assist. Great job Silver Palace! Many restaurants don't do this.
