The husband & I ate at Single Shot on Wednesday with friends. The staff are terrific, and the food is superb. Two of us had the pork chop entree, which was excellent: perfectly cooked, tender and sauced deliciously. I'd love to have a quart of the sauce to take home. The other two had the oxtail, which was similarly delicious. We split a special starter of buratta with bing cherries. Wish I'd had room for more, but I'd foolishly had a big lunch. We finished with a chocolate cake-like dessert, which was also excellent. Our only reservation was the extremely noisy atmosphere: concrete walls and floors mean people soon fall to yelling, a too-common experience in Seattle.

We shared the Dungeness crab salad , nice tart fresh. The creamy risotto with wild mushrooms is certainly delicious comfort food. The pastas shells with goat cheese light and wonderful. The service was bright, happy attentive. Topped off with rich chocolate cake. A friendly, local spot.

This is our host’s favorite restaurant, so we arrived with high expectations... and still, Single Shot simply wowed us. The rockfish crudo was delicious and surprisingly unique. The flatbread had the perfect balance of taste and consistency. The organic chicken was cooked exactly to tender perfection and the gnocchi that accompanies this dish is amazing. I had the wild halibut and didn’t leave a speck on my dish. Drinks... I tried 2 very balanced cocktails and a taste of a well-chosen local microbrew. Dessert... the chocolate cremeux was very good. I don’t normally eat sweets, but again, this was tough to pass up on. Also worth mentioning is that the place feels warm, homey, and authentic. Service is attentive, yet servers seem to carefully respect your space. I really enjoyed dining here and I look forward to returning in the future.

Single Shot is one of the newer craft cocktail bars in Seattle. They have a lot of competition but they're doing a really good job. Their cocktail menu is great. Their ability to make off menu items is very on point and the service was awesome too. I'd definitely recommend trying this place out if you're into specialty drinks.

Friends recommended the place and it turned out to be great one. A bit hidden away but so worth trying. Great location, feels a lot like a French bistro in the middle of Paris. Great cocktails featuring interesting combinations and a well sorted beverage list. Food was excellent, crab potato salad, duck, lamb tartar, everything perfectly executed and creatively presented.

This small Capital Hill restaurant in Seattle is sophisticated, beautiful, and fun. We have had several meals there and never been disappointed. Great service, romantic atmosphere, and an on the spot owner who makes sure you are happy.

Single Shot is a favorite spot. Whenever I go, I think, "Why am I trying out all those new restaurants coming on the scene when this place has everything I am looking for?" The food is consistently great as is the service. The design of the space is wonderful (notice all the details in the tile and brass) - subtle and tasteful.

Have eaten here several times, have always enjoyed everything on the menus - both the food menu and the drinks menu! Service is top-notch. However the price point is a tad high for a neighborhood place, maybe that's why it was somewhat empty the most recent time we went. Hope the management adjusts the pricing, it would be a shame if this place were to close.

Can't judge the food. I called to buy a gift card for my nephew who lives in Seattle on Feb. 21, and my credit card info was swiftly taken and charged on that very night. I sent my nephew's address by email, and waited, and waited....Confirmed with my nephew that he never received it, and that I had the right address. Then I started trying to get a response from the restaurant. I emailed the guy a few times. No response. Called the restaurant. Talked to someone very nice and concerned named Stephanie, who assured me I would receive a call that night, that the man I had dealt with was the owner and he was due in fifteen minutes. I never received a call. I cancelled the transaction with my credit card company and emailed again. I have never received any response from this restaurant except to instantly take my money.

So I found this gem on OpenTable. I was a bit late due to a flight, but they were very accomodating. Everything I had was exceptionally delicious. I did not take a picture of the risotto, because it looked like an orange blob but it was quite tasty as well. Highly recommended delicious food. I would certainly come here again.

Very nice eggs Benedict with prosciutto in a unique hollandaise. Also, they have limited outdoor seating under the large trees facing the quiet street. We will return here for sure.

This place was absolutely delightful. The food, the wine, the dessert was spot on. The service was a tiny bit slow, but it was Friday night, we sat at the bar without a reservation, and they gave us a dessert on the house without us having to ask to say “sorry it took so long.” Could not have been better.

Immediately upon walking up to the restaurant you catch yourself loving the look--a great counter and tall windows so that you can take in the sidewalk pedestrian traffic. The atmosphere is very relaxed and when you have the opportunity to taste the food, it almost surprises you with it's high skill and quality. All three of us loved each of our courses. In no particular order, I would definitely come back again and have the Carmelized Cauliflower, the Grilled Asparagus, the King Salmon, the Canaroli Risotto and the Pecan Pie with Bourbon Ice Cream. We really liked our server---she was very helpful with the menu and was extremely personable. Check out my photos for more details.

Came here based on a reco from a friend and some great reviews, and while I loved the drinks and general atmosphere, the food didn't quite live up to expectations. Portions (even for the large share plates) were small; the food was not hot and took a long time to come out from the kitchen, and I left feeling very hungry.

We Uber-ed in to Capital Hill and wound our way down a little side street to find this neighborhood gem. It was actually a little hard to pick out, as it didn't have very obvious signage; I had to call upon a tip I read in another online review: it is two doors down (North) from Sun Liquors. Once we were close enough, the name engraved upon the window glass became apparent. The place is not large, and it was crowded at 7:30 on a Friday night. The host came right over to greet us and confirm our reservation, and he promised that a couple of tables were just getting ready to leave (we were a few minutes early, so this was perfectly fine with us). He returned a moment or two later with complimentary glasses of champagne, which was totally unexpected and very welcome. Shortly thereafter, we were seated... at the bar. We were a little thrown by this - after all, we expected a table for our reservation, but we played along. The drink menu was fairly comprehensive, and the craft cocktails all sounded amazing. I had an Upper Crust Sidecar, which was delicious! My wife had a glass of red burgundy, also delicious, and I followed suit when my cocktail was done. The menu is small - not more than 10 or so items on it, but everything was beautifully prepared. We shared a kale salad which, to our delight, did not taste "kale-y." We also shared a simple cheese plate of gruyere and baguette with a little quince, which was also quite nice. From there we moved to the margarita flatbread, also tasty. For her entrée, she had the duck confit; I had the pork cop and spatzle. Both of our meats were wonderful, but the spatzle was too salty for my tastes (I have not had spatzle before, so I confess that I don't know whether it is supposed to be that salty). We passed on dessert, but did have coffee. I asked the bartender for a recommendation on an after dinner sipper, and he promptly poured me tastes of three different options (an amaro, a vermouth, and I forget the third). I was very impressed with his generosity, and the vermouth turned out to be quite nice. We would definitely love to come back.

I would give 6 stars if I could! The most delicious pork chop I have EVER eaten. Every single appetizer and main course was the best Food we had in Seattle. Including a Michelin Star and many 5 star rated establishments. Also? Our server was adorable, a complete delight to spend an evening with. Oh, did I mention the cocktails? 6 Stars Single Shot!!

The chef is ambitious and pulls it off. Gratin of rutabaga and parsnip was excellent. So, too, an emmer risotto. A white pizza with prosciutto was good, if pricey. Service was attentive and friendly.

Good food and drink and good service in a narrow nicely appointed space. Try the Magarita pizza or the mussels both exceptional

A friend of mine and I went to Single Shot this past weekend while we were visiting Seattle. First of all, the atmosphere is incredible - there is a beautiful marble bar, amazing light fixtures and really cool antique pieces - I love the wooden gun! You can tell a lot of thought went into every design detail. The service was excellent - I think our server's name was Josh. He was genuine and attentive. The food was unique and delicious. We shared a bunch of different plates - I loved everything but I think the duck pizza, the cauliflower dish, and the clams with basil were my favorites. Such amazing flavor combinations! I can't recommend this place enough - it is a must if you are in the Seattle area!! I wish we had a Single Shot in Vancouver.

We have a love of small restaurants and this did not disappoint! About 20 tables and most were filled. Our waiter was attentive and very helpful in helping us chose our items. The list of craft cocktails is solid as well as their wine list. Parking can be a challenge so prepare to drive around a bit.

Rory the owner greeted us an ushered us to a table by the window... he greeted us with sparkling rose.... On we went to pumpkin soup with crab and pork belly (wow!).....then roasted beet salad, then kale and roasted smokey apple salad, Manila clams roasted in delicious and lush broth (we ate every morsel and drop), then curry goat Mac and cheese, then roasted attic char and lentils....a luscious rich Pinot Noir accompanied... and finally a sampling of dessert: pumpkin cheese cake with peppered marshmallows, homemade ice cream - butter pecan, and chocolate mousse.... And wonderful time was had by all.. The decor and lighting was so perfect....

This tiny restaurant is truly a hidden gem! My husband and I both had one of the best meals of our lives! The service was pretty exceptional as well!

Sometimes a restaurant leaves such an impression that it is difficult to place exactly what makes it so great. Single Shot deserves the highest accolades. We were sufficiently impressed by this kitchen to return a second night, over a short weekend stay in Seattle. The perfectly lit and unpretentious interior make this an approachable neighborhood spot - warm and inviting, while the outside tables are perfect for a summer evening. Cocktails are delicious, but the food program is truly exceptional. We ordered the bulk of the menu over 2 evenings and were pleased to discover every dish as tasty as the last. We returned for the unmissable charred asparagus & chorizo in green goddess dressing, but were equally impressed with spring pea risotto and citrus cream agnolotti, Alaskan halibut with corn salsa, and beyond. The service & kitchen staff are consummate pros, and Amy was a delight. Owner and proprietor Rory is as humble and friendly as he is discerning with his menu and staffing selections. This spot is a must- whether you are lucky enough to live nearby or are planning a trip into town. We can’t wait to return!

Visiting from Vancouver we stumbled across this gem in during a snow storm and what a delicious meal! The restaurant has great vibes, drinks, and food. We asked our server to order for us and enjoyed several excellent dishes. Highly recommend the winter mushroom flatbread and smoked bean cassoulet. Worth the short drive if visiting Seattle and staying downtown!

Met friends for Brunch. It is well worth going to this restaurant! Small but food to meet anyone's wants.

Our neighbors me out and I was lucky they did. The restaurant is small but comfortable. The service was excellent, the owner was our waiter. I had the pumpkin soup with dungennes crab and pork belly - delicious. I then had the pork for my main - also delicious. So I will be back!

Very fun cocktail menu. Excellent use of space. Inventive choices. Outstanding service. Will be back for sure. Best appeal for inch of space on the Hill!

This small cafe was just down the street so we thought we would try it. We’re glad we did. Two small plates — burrata on top of heirloom tomatoes and then caramelized cauliflower with soft tangy chèvre — followed by risotto and sautéed Chanterelles. Noise was tolerable, service friendly. We went early on a Tuesday evening, but I would recommend reservations for a later dinner. Small, classy joint.

This place is a bit of a hidden gem. First time there, ordered the margarita flatbread with prosciutto which was delicious, thin and crispy. Then had the pork chops which was tender, flavorful and also delicious. Had the wine on tap also was good. This place is quaint and on the smaller size, I would suggest making a reservation. Service was also really good.

Went here for a solo dinner while in Seattle on business. Made a reservation for one at the bar. Small restaurant on in a quieter part of Capitol Hill. Great vibes--small, neighborhood feel. Friendly bartender and helpful staff. Appealing list of house cocktails; my choice, with gin, blackberry, and cucumber, was refreshing. Nice menu of appetizers and mains with a farm-to-table vibe; appealing mix of flatbreads, pastas, and proteins. A tomato salad to start was absolutely delicious, served with salty feta and a delicious dressing. A house-made agnolotti pasta with mushrooms and garlic ricotta really hit the spot. Great dinner. Would definitely return.

Small, medium, large. This is how one orders. And Each size can be shared or an individual portion. Superb food, fresh and made with perfect attention. A creative blend of flavors. Even foods I don't cherish are rendered exquisitely. I would make the cheese and fig jam small starter a dessert...preferring the French influence. Either way, yummy. We had pork chops, chicken and beef...all terrific. Looking at the salmon, it might beat the pork chop as a large, main dish. Stunning sorbet, in substantial portion. The only sneezes: tiny glasses of wine. Poorly designed acoustics making it hard to talk and digest. And heat adding to dining discomfort. Otherwise the modern sleek design adds to quality of the cuisine. Simple, calm, comfortable elegance. When a chef is this talented, he/she will correct these small hiccups. So don't let these comments prevent a visit. Simply excellent all around, from foodies who live and eat in Paris. (For better or worse).

We went to Single Shot to celebrate my mom's birthday. Even though I mentioned that on the reservation, no mention of it was made at the restaurant. Not sure if that was an oversight or just trying to be polite. Food was delicious - I had the breakfast sandwich (vegetarian) and my mom had the pancake. She was thrilled! Coffee was excellent as was the service. The only complaint was that the music was loud and it was cold in the restaurant. Wouldn't hesitate to go back.

We have been to this small restaurant and bar twice now and loved each visit. If you like small menus with creative, interesting, fresh cuisine and staff behind the bar who know their bar menu just as well as their food menu, this is the place. Long may it last.

It is a small busy restaurant with a great vibe. We ordered a range of dishes for a family-style dinner. Every single dish was amazing. Dishes were: bread, beet salad, asparagus with crab, pasta, short rib. The pasta was extra good. Great recommendation from the waiter for a wine to match the food. Service was extremely good from start to finish. Highly recommend, we will be returning.

Have been here several times and food has been great each time. Last night however the kitchen seemed to be working on Slo-mo. Our entrees probably took 30min to arrive. We had theatre tickets so had to literally inhale our food to make the show. That said, everything was delicious. Especially liked the chicken with gnocchi. Highly recommended but don't go if you're in a rush.

Chef Brad Kelleher does a stand out job with a short menu list. Fish was excellent, everyone at the table fought over the last forkful of the Hallibut. The chicken breast was ably done (there's only so much you can say about white meat chicken). I thought the only near miss were the "Potato and Dungeness Crab appetizer" which was a bit too bland meets bland. And the chocolate Cremeaux dessert was a bit over-sweet so that by the 2nd taste you could only notice the salt and body rush of sugar. Sorry. The lemon curd biscuit was the better choice. Service excellent. Sound level was amazingly quiet. Would recommend. If you're local, id recommend Uber as parking can be a bit problematic especially on weekends, but if you're willing to walk, you can 'usually' find a spot within a handful of blocks.

This marvellous, small, eclectic gem was recommend to us by a work colleague as we passed through Seattle. All I can say is thank you to her as we would never have found it otherwise and it is absolutely wonderful. Even apart from the attentive service and charming owner/ host Rory, we would have raved about it. The starter of figs and goats cheese was sublime, my fish was too and my companion loved the pork dish. All executed with top of the range ingredients, not fussed over but lovingly treated just right by the wizards in the kitchen. Super pink gamay fizz to start with and some other delicious wines by the glass. I would almost move to Seattle just to be able to eat here once a week! I do love it when a restaurant is confident enough to just put a handful of things on the menu and then do them all to perfection. To be honest it took all my will power and good manners not to reach over to the next table with my fork to try what they were having too - and they were loving it as well! Well done Rory. You're a star and deserve to flourish. You cannot fail with that food and the wonderful place you have there.

A group of eight of us enjoyed a wonderful evening out in this fantastic (shh secret!) restaurant, on the recommendation of a Seattle local. In a converted bookstore it's been tastefully decorated and appointed; small enough to allow some intimacy, but not so small as to feel squished. We opted for some shared starters - the flatbreads are amazing, as was the Winter Celery and Dungeness Crab soup. Mains varied from Scallops, to steak, to Lamb Tartare to Pork Chop. All food locally sourced, perfectly cooked, wonderfully seasoned and leaving the tastebuds dancing. Try the roasted Brussels Sprouts - wow. Nicely surprised with some desserts on the house, which was a lovely touch. Service by Joshua was friendly, attentive but not overbearing. Accompanied with drink service and two great bottles of French Red. Would highly recommend a visit and I'll definitely go back again when in Seattle.

Great ambiance, menu, cocktails, and wine... Knowledgeable staff and ownership .... It works ... Thoroughly satisfyingly!!!

Food is excellent! Drinks are reasonable, but nothing special. We were pleased that they accommodated our party of 5 on very short notice (1 hour). Our server was knowledgeable, very nice and sweet.

We have been there three times. Never a fault in service and the meals are exceptional. The restaurant is small and popular so book ahead.

We had an excellent brunch at Single Shot. The restaurant was beautiful, service perfectly attentive, and food delicious. I had a rather splendid mushroom omelette and my friends tried the benedict and congee and both were excellent. The mimosas were also well made. It all contributed to a wonderful birthday brunch!

The halibut here was the best I’ve ever had , relaxed environment with amazing food , we loved all the dishes and the staff were amazing . The quality of the fish was incredible

Single Shot is an architecturally beautiful restaurant and the service is always professional and warm. The food is creatively prepared and presented. Even their dishes and cutlery are beautiful. We've been many times and everything is always consistently great.

I have gone here a few times for breakfast and dinner. for a neighborhood restaurant it is a great place to go. Location: It is a bit hidden off of Broadway in Capitol Hill. Do not drive here there is no parking at all and you will end up driving in circles for a long time. So Uber or Lyft to this destination. Decor: This is a very small restaurant, but well decorated and the bar is the main focal point with a beautiful marble top and decorative finishes. At night it has a amazing mood lighting and is great for a first date or 10th anniversary. Food: I had the New York strip sirloin and it was well cooked and had great flavors. For breakfast I had the eggs Benedict with Prosciutto which is amazing along with their mimosas. Services: The service is ok here. The owner is there a lot, and she checks in, but I feel they need to bring it up just a bit it is a little too relaxed for what it is.

A visit early on a Saturday night found a room of 25 to 60 something year old diners, talking loudly but eating good looking food. I ordered the "Margarita pizza" because it has become a standard item on so many menus. I wanted to see how they treated the dish...not very well. I had to ask for salt and olive oil just to get some taste. We also had fresh oysters on the half shell topped w/ grapefruit granita. The grapefruit was mean't to bring a fresh citrus note but the note was a bit strong. The waitstaff friendly. The bartender Adam was fabulous (we sat at the bar)!! Not sure I would go again my voice felt strained from shouting at my friend to be heard over the all the noise.
We really enjoyed!
Our friend recommended his neighborhood restaurant and I am thankful! The flavors were great! Fig starter was delightful as was the corn soup. I wasn't as crazy about the pizza but it wasn't bad and the others liked it. As a table of four we each ordered different mains and there was a lot of mmmmm's. Everyone loved their dish. Then we decided to stuff ourselves with sweets. The cherry chip ice cream was my favorite and the others loved the peanut butter and chocolate bar. Our waitress was very professional and kind. So glad we were told to try it!!!! Will return!
