dont know why some day food is good and some day food is bad. DIrty is always (from silverware, table, glass will have previous lis mark or still had some food in the drink). Like the rest of the Asian restaurants they include tips if you have 6+ people. And they calculate the tips is base on the total amount and NOT before tax. i asked the waiter and waitress and they said this is the owner policy. So we will not support this cheating scam.

The location is very easy to find. There is big parking, so, you don't have to worry about parking in Chinatown like in NYC or Philadelphia. The price is very nice and service is fast. The food is not really excellent, but worth the price that I pay.

We had lunch on a Wednesday. When you walk in there are several tanks that hold live seafood ,which contained huge crabs. We sat in the middle of the restaurant. Tables were slightly close others occupied. The menu is huge-I had the general chicken served with broccoli. It was a large serving -fresh tasty & not spicy. The chicken & broccoli was tender & fabulous! Beef with broccoli was very good. The walnut shrimp had large deveined shrimp fried with a cream colored sauce-so different & tasty. We had the egg rolls that were great as well. Huge servings of everything. You could share a plate.

I have to specify that we visited after an evening meeting ~9pm, so maybe the food wasn't so fresh. I've had much better spring rolls. The pork was a grayish pink color. The sauce on the fried noodle had little taste, and the roasted half duck was okay. We were expecting more flavor. Service was friendly, but she seemed to disappear when we were uncertain of what to order. Sorry, won't be back.

I absolutely love their Wonton Soup here. It is a big bowl and very very tasty broth. The Wontons are huge!

I am Chinese and my dad has been in the restaurant business since the 1960's so I know good food when I taste it. Sinh Sinh is probably one of the top Asian restaurants in Houston. I know some picky people will complain about how dirty the bathroom is and I do agree that it is disgusting. But I have seen worse at upscale bars and clubs. Take a trip to Malaysia or China where you need to squat to do your business. So get over it. You do not come to a place like Sinh Sinh to use the facilities! You come for the awesome food. Service is adequate, helps if you speak the language but if you don't it's not an issue. I see plenty of non-Asians eating here all the time and most seem to know what they want. This is not a prissy white-linen table-clothed place where you will have four members of the waitstaff hovering over you while you eat that tiny speck of celebrity chef created food on your plate! And the food is awesome and authentic. Definitely not the American created Fushion Asian places that are so popular these days. Sinh Sinh is the real deal. The menu is huge with many relatively inexpensive items to pricey exotic things like live Jumbo Coral Shrimp ($42 a pound) and Sashimi Geoduck ($38.99 a pound). The last two times we ate here we mixed it up, ordering some very simple classic inexpensive items like fried rice, steamed Tilapia, Clams in black bean sauce, Ma Pao Tofu and half a roast duck and their very popular roast pig. But we also ordered a pound of the live Coral Shrimp and two pounds of the Sashimi Geoduck. All of it was awesome! Have a few Tsingtao Beers and you will be in food heaven! This place also has a hot pot menu but I have not had a chance to try it yet. I am already looking forward to my next meal here at Sinh Sinh. See you there!

This is as close as you'll get to Cuc Gach Restaurant in Saigon, Vietnam. The food is excellent. It's one of the few places that will have live seafood (including Tiger Prawns) that you can pick from in an aquarium. We ordered the special seafood hot pot and the tiger prawns were still alive and squirming. Now thats fresh like the fresh prince of Bel Air. Oh by the way the restaurant is located on…wait for it…Bellaire Blvd. Now this is a story… I deducted one star because Saturday dinner services are horrendous. My wife and I had an entree each. Hers came out within 15 minutes and mine came did not come out at the 50 minute mark so we decided to leave. I asked for the check…15 minutes later and several reminders…check never came. I just went tithe cashier and paid instead. Oh, they tried to charge me for the entree that never came. As we were leaving the restaurant, I saw my dish finally arrive to a now vacated table. Minus one star for Saturday nights only. Every other day and night the food is excellent and the service is prompt. Carlton, you're up next.

The out side was nice, the seating comfortable. Start out the server Vivian was nice and attentive. The behavior of the server Vivian changed when she brought out the incorrect ordered dish. She did not write the orders as she should and insisted the orders were correct. The Combination Crispy Stir Fried Noodle was substandard. Incorrect kind of noodle and the small shrimps were not fresh, scallops were imitated with some type of roll dough and also too salty to the taste I have to asked for recook. One of the dish had a hair in it. Singapore Spicy Noodle was also substandard and the ingredients were not fresh. The server was rude, unprofessional and the foods were either too salty or the ingredients were substandard. This was our first and also the last time we dine at Sinh Sinh.

This place is a family asian restaurant and serves many hours of the day. This particular visit was really late at night after a long night at the bar. We ordered the pan friend noodles, fried rice, egg/noodle thing, and a meat plate. The service really isn't that great, but if you are looking for some greasey asian food, this is definitelly the place to get it, especially soooo late at night since they clsoe at 3PM. I probably wouldn't go here if I were looking to impress someone with some amazing food but at least the portions are what I would guess is reasonable for the price they charge. To me, this place is really just a place to go to after drinking. People really start pouring in around 2 after all the bars and clubs close, and you will often find over dressed club goers here. In my past experiences here, the servers hardly spoke english, but I guess over the years they have improved so its not so hard to order exactly what you want. Service isn't that fast either, so if you are in a hurry just be prepared to wait. Last comments: This restaurant doesn't have that "clean" appeal to me. I am always hesitant to eat here, but when the group wants to eat here, I have to go. The bathrooms are questionable at best, which concerns me about the general practices in the kitchen. I suppose what I don't know won't hurt me, unless its some form of food poisoning. Just becareful when you eat here.

Waited for more than 1 hour just to order 2 to-go chickens. But they are delicious. Long line, took 20 minutes just to pay for it, and another hour to pickup the order.

Wish they had a frequent eater card because this is one of my favorite places to eat! I've been there so much, I know all the servers! This restaurant is by far, the best! The food is delicious, service is great and they make us feel right at home! Usually the dishes come out fairly fast and the food is always amazing! I always recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to eat!

Decend place with a lot of parking! Family style mediocre Asian restaurant on Bellaire expect poor service. Soup & variety of veggies were so-so Well done salt baked chicken, salt and pepper squid along with lobsters Excellent Walnut shrimps, seafood clay pot & Sizzling Beef Platter Peking duck was a big disappointment (duck's skin should be crispy) & the Dungeoness Crab over rice wrap with lotus leaves

We went there around 10 pm Thursday night. Most big restaurants are closed. This one is open and packed with people. We ordered wonton noodles and house special noodles. They came out quick and large portion. We have to take home. We are so happy to find this place! Highly recommended.

Sinh Sinh is one of our go-to spots in Chinatown. It has very good duck, chicken and vegetables. The Vietnamese dishes we have tried - such as beef and French fried rice - are also very good. However, service can be spotty and there was one visit where all surfaces were sticky, which kept us from going back for a while. However, the food inevitably brings us back... Overall, very good food but spotty service.

We usually don't eat there, but we always go there to buy Peking Duck and steamed salted chicken! It is the best in town! There is always a long line, make sure you bring cash, since they don't take credit cards!

This place was so good we went back twice in one week. Plenty of tables so if there is a line, it moves quickly. The waitstaff is friendly, the food comes out quick and is hot. The prices are reasonable. We ate the fried fish in hunan sauce, the Peking duck, chicken fried rice, snow pea leaf with garlic, and claypot with beef and eggplant - they were all so good, my kids still talk about how good it was. The Peking duck skin could have been crispier but you get a lot of duck meat with it which I've never seen anywhere else and it comes with soup - Peking duck all for $27 - also at a price I've never seen before. This is a great place.

Everytime I crave for soft shell crab this is the place to go. They also have fresh coconut for you to enjoy.

Been going here for years, great place the family always enjoys our visits. Always get the spring rolls, soups and salted ribs are tasty. I like the curried chicken and the have some great looking hot pots. It is all yummy...

If I could leave zero stars I would. Service is horrible here. We came late one night. They forgot about our order and after waiting for 45 mins and watching all the other tables who come after us finish their food, we asked about our food. The waiter says we are very busy and just ran off. 15 mins later our food still hasn’t come. We sporadically got our food after a while and the last member of our group got his food after the first one finished. When we complained the waiters shakes us off and walks off. Even after waiting an hour, our food was bland and tasteless. If we had anywhere else to go we would have left and not put up with this kind of treatment. I can’t beliebe we had to pay to be mistreated. Don’t waste your time or your money.

The shrimp fried rice is the BOMB!!!!Excellent place for dining in or carry out. I would recommend it to a friend and family member.

This place is a must when you are in Houston and visit the Chinese neighborhood, has been here for over 30 years and all you see here are Asian people who are happy to serve you and prepare food close to what you find in china or Hong Kong , highly recommend this place to visit, warning,,,, it gets really busy between 7-9 pm and after the clubs close down around 2:30 am , come and experience this place you will not regret it. Lunch plates before 4 pm are about 6.99, big portions and clean plates.

We are frequent guests of this restaurant. The food is a mix of Vietnamese and Chinese cuisine. The place is not fancy at all but if you are looking for great tasting food, then this is one of the best options in this part of Houston. They are open late night and you can come in dressed casually. Service from staff is okay and they try hard to communicate and provide the best service to their customers.

This is a great restaurant with OK service. If you are serious about Chinese food, ask for the "big" menu, not the one they hand you which is a really a summary of the big one, missing some of our favorites. The food was fresh and flavorful. To the reviewer below: Of course they included the head on the chicken. It is the a very important part. If you don't want it just leave it.

Our friend invited us to this restaurant. It is right on Bellaire very close to Sam Houston Tollway. It is very easy to spot this place, which is not always the case with a lot of restaurants in this area. It was tough to find a parking spot. Inconvenient as it may be, that was a good sign. The noise levels inside confirmed what the parking lot was hinting at us. This place was teeming with locals. We were quickly seated and our friend explained that Sinh Sinh translates to Yum Yum. We were ready for some yummy food. The hostess brought us their very large menus. I was a little confused about what to order. They have quite a vast offering from Chinese and Vietnamese cuisines. I generally get a little wary of restaurants that serve food from multiple cuisines as it belies a lack of focus. Our friend came to my rescue and ordered a selection of dishes for us to share. The food was brought to us briskly. The eggplant was delicious albeit a little too sweet. The roast duck was passable. The stir fry beef was hot and decent. The friend shrimp was unremarkable. The fried rice had some very salty morsels from the sauce not being evenly distributed. The portion was was beyond generous and approaching largesse levels. I can see why this place would be popular. Efficient service, reasonable prices, and huge portion sizes. But the food was quite unremarkable. Each dish was prepared with a mind and taste numbing predictability. The focus on delivering value for money and efficiency has forced culinary inspiration to elope from this place. Fortunately inspiration has not had to go very far and can be found residing in other neighboring restaurants like Mala Sichuan.

We ordered several dishes, among them rice with grilled pork rib. Specifically, I requested the grilled pork chop to be included. To ensure accuracy, I asked the waitress to confirm that the order included the pork chop. However, when the food arrived, we were served rice with a piece of pork meat from the pork shoulder instead. I inquired about this, expressing that it wasn't the pork chop I had requested, but the staff ignored my concern, stating that it was their standard way of serving the meat. The overall service at this establishment was disappointing, and the cleanliness of the place left much to be desired. I have no intention of returning here in the future.

I was meeting friends for lunch, one had heard about the place and we were going to try it out. They were waiting inside, when I pulled up, they hurried out to meet me. I told them it looked dirty on the outside, they said it was worse inside.....Go at your own risk!! We went elsewhere.

As others have posted, this restaurant is very crowded. We visited about 8pm and navigating around was challenging. The tables were pushed close together to maximize the number of guests the facility can accommodate. Family style is definitely the predominant description here. The menus were very large with plenty of options. The service was friendly but different servers throughout our meal led to some confusion at times with regards to getting our complete order. The food was hot and portions were in abundance. Sometime restaurants will scrimp on the more costly parts of a meal (shrimp, meats, etc) but we did not experience that here. The quality of the food was excellent. I felt the facility was clean but once seated I didn’t have the chance to do much roaming around. I would certainly recommend this place to others. I plan to stop I again if I visit Houston again.

We ordered egg rolls, ribs, salt and pepper squid, snow peas leaves with crab meat. The squid and egg rolls were super greasy. The crab meat did not taste like crab. The waiter was not very helpful.

We had Cantonese chow mein, coconut shrimp (called something else), sesame chicken, and steamed white rice. Everything was delicious. The restaurant ambiance was a bit cafeteria like, not fancy at all, and it smelled a little musty, but the smell could be attributable to the live lobster, crab, and fish tanks. Overall, I thought the food was pretty good. I would eat there again, however, it's in Chinatown and there are probably twenty other Chinese restaurants within one block that I may try first.

Been here many times and still like it for the variety and fair prices. Food here is very authentic. It's actually the real Chinese stuff unlike the many Americanized Hunan (sweet and similar sauce for all dishes type). Highly recommended for non Chinese who wsnt the real stuff. There are set menu which makes it easy too.

This Chinese restaurant will cheat and reap you off! Servers has no manner, picking his nose after went to restroom doing #2 and get out without washing his hand. We have to wait for nearly 30min on 11/25/2015 before the first dish come out with out the rest of the orders. Even that we all can see the are curly hairs in food. We pointed out the our waitress and she was so rude as hell. Health department and IRS should visit this place and i am sure that they are doing a bunches of un-regulated things. They pre-charged us tips on top of the tax. There are not require to include tips in the bill. Tips are base on customers receiving service and reward their server. They have no manner in serving and expecting tips? on top of that is charged you tips on top of the total tax. i hoped my comments will make folks to aware of this place. They are losing us for sure! cheater!

The food is really good. The won ton soup, in my opinion is the best in town. Excellent selection of sea food and meat. Its real Chinese food. I've been to China. But the service is amazingly poor. I honestly can say I that I dont think I have ever been to a restaurant with that poor of service. The wait staff stand around looking confused most of the time and dont care about taking your order or anything for that matter. Its not like they are short staffed. There are at least 10 people just standing around looking at you. Amazing. If you dont care about being ignored or really bad service, the food is good. I would not take business people there for sure...

I wore my work uniform and went dine in this restaurant after work but I was surprised since nobody took me to the table or ask me to take the order . I asked the servers and nobody answered me , they just looked away. I was like “ wow” ! . No problem, I dont think they want to serve only one or two customers. They want to serve a group of 3-4 people . I just left :) . If you want to dine in this place by only yourself or two please don’t come. They won’t serve and you will be wasting your time :)) . It just made me feel bad 😞 .

We got what we came for: Dungeness crab and fried rice cooked in lotus leaves. It was worth the $60 and the portion was good for 3 to 4 people. The other dishes like clams in black bean sauce, deep fried shrimp balls and beef tendon noodle soup were excellent. Reminds me of home with authentic quality and taste. They opened till late and their menu offered a lot of choices. Wish we had more time to come back and try other dishes from my childhood. If you only had a few hours to spend in Chinatown like us, we would recommend filling your belly at Sinh Sinh. Thanks to the YouTuber who recommended this place!

The prices are good for what it is. We came here after a local recommended their BBQ duck and pork. Had a lunch special that came with the meat, rice and veggies. I got the grilled pork and boyfriend got the steamed chicken. The meat was room temperature. I get that BBQ stuff do sit there, but at least keep it at the right temperature before someone gets sick. The boyfriends dish is supposed to be a cold dish. He finished all of his food and enjoyed it. Mixed feelings and reviews about this restaurant.

We had a large group for diner. The menu has a large selection of Asian cuisine. We were fortunate to have someone with us that was well versed in Asian foods. We let him order up several dishes for us to share. The food was placed on a rotating platter in the center of the table. You rotate the platter around to sample the various dishes. All dishes were very good and authentic. I tried several items I would have never thought to order.

I have been here several times in the last two weeks and really enjoyed my meal each time. I especially like that it is open till 2am most nights. As any Houstonian knows, there are not a lot of good late night places to eat. The Walnut Chicken and Beef with Green Onions and Ginger are really good!

Yum. For lunch, a friend and I shared an order of Imperial Rolls, a half Roasted Duck, and a Dungeness Crab Rice. The rolls were very good; the Roasted Duck was perfectly moist and full of flavor; and the Crab Rice was made from a live Dungeness Crab and wonderfully crab intense rice. Messy and Incredible! Service was great and friendly. After lunch, we went shopping at H Mart next door.

Food is great most of the time, we have not been back for a while because last time, it was dirty. Services has never been that great, however, they have a few great waitress. Hate the angry&grumpy old man they had. Food is the reason we keep coming back despite spotty services.

A wonderful mother day diner in Sinh Sinh restaurant in China town Houston. Fresh 3 more pounds of lobster with green onion and ginger, walnut crispy shrimp, fresh green vegetable with garlic sauce, and Beijing crispy duck with Chinese taco, and restaurant give every mother day diner party discount for happy mother day. My daughter. What a wonderful mother day is, isn't it?

Excellent Vietnamese food and good price. We eat here often. The wonton noodle soup is very filling. Love the imperial egg rolls, fried rice, pork chop with egg and rice, and vermicelli.

Food was bad, restaurant was dirty, and the bathroom was a nightmare. I had three orders of food: grilled chicken with rice, seafood crispy noodle, stir fried rice noodle with beef. For the grilled chicken with rice, the meat tasted rotten and the portion of rice was too large compared to the protein. Not appealing at all. Seafood crispy noodle was mediocre, until I ate the piece of chicken in the noodle and again, it tasted rotten and disgusting. For the stir fried rice-noodle with beef, the noodle was literally soaked in oil. Every bite I took, The oil splattered in my mouth. Disgusting...

Nice Chinese Hong Kong food at an affordable price! The best wantan noodles I have tried in Houston which is very close to the springy hand made noodles which you usually get in pure Hong Kong restaurants

We came here for the first time one weekend with family and enjoyed the food enough that we ended up coming back a few days later. Right when you walk in, there are tanks filled with lobsters and crabs on both sides of the entryway. There is what looks to be a hostess stand but there really isn’t anyone there. Staff are busy walking around taking care of customers. We were seated pretty quickly though. We ended up on the side of the dining area that passes by the BBQ meat section. It looks like you’re in an Asian grocery store the way it’s set up. There are ducks hanging and also the BBQ pork meat. We’ll have to come back another time to order some for lunch. Our first experience here was eating hot pot along with other entrees like their house special fried rice, salt toasted Dungeness crab and their pan fried rice flour cake. Their house special fried rice is one of my favorite dishes now. The hot pot was alright. I can’t say it’s something I would come back to this particular restaurant for. The salt toasted Dungeness crab was huge and although I’m not that big of a seafood fan, I thought it tasted good. The second time we came, just three days later, we had their house special fried rice again, salt toasted squid, Vietnamese egg rolls and pork ribs with fish sauce. That first time we came, I was overwhelmed by the menu because there’s just so many options to choose from. This second time, I actually really took a good look and we ordered what sounded good to us. The Vietnamese egg rolls came out first and they were so crispy. Delicious! I feel like we should’ve stuck with the half order (3) but my husband wanted the full order (6) since he was feeling really hungry. Suffice it to say, there was 1.5 egg rolls we left behind. The fried rice and salt toasted squid came out next. The fried rice, I already knew I would like. The salt toasted squid was crispy and yummy. Pulling up the end of our order was the pork ribs. It was mighty tasty and had just the right amount of sweetness to it. Our server was quick with our orders and also kept watch on my husbands ice tea. Anytime it got low, there she was to refill it. She even brought out plastic utensils and a paper plate for my son without us having to ask. She was awesome! I regret not getting her name because she deserves recognition for her outstanding service. All in all, we’ve had good, filling meals the two times we’ve been here. We even took leftovers home the second time. I’m already looking forward to tomorrow’s lunch of tonight’s leftovers. We’ll be back to sample more of what they have to offer here!

Best Fried Vietnamese Egg Rolls in Town. Great late night eatery. Will most definitely return with family. Drove 40 minutes to dine here and did not disappoint. Our server was excellent. Thank you.

Make it a point to eat here every time we come to houston. Has one of the best general chicken i have ever eaten. Give large portions and not too expensive. Feel awkward at times because we are always the only mexicans there usually everyone else is asian. We have gone at 3 am, lunchtime, dinner it is always crowded and the food is always top notch. Dont mind it being crowded I feel that if it is crowded means the food must be good. They have never let us down. They also give you all the rice you can eat. Not too far of a drive. And highly recommend going here if you want good fresh chinese food. If you go here go hungry.

It is a vietnamese restaurant. A lot of choice. The prices are reasonable. Services was efficient. The food were tasty and delicious. They served large portion.

The seafood soup is full of shrimp, squid with a confetti of vegetables and not like some restaurants that just have a few items and lots of broth. The Chinese broccoli complimented the variety of entrees we had: lobster, salted shrimp, the steamed/boiled "walking" chicken (ga di bo). The servers are attentive and quick.

they left the head on the chicken.

We been lived in Houston over 30 years. This restaurant was one of the well known restaurant in town since then, good food, great taste... After it's relocated few times, now it's set on Bellaire Ave., between Corporate Ave. and Beltway 8, right in the heart of newer China Town. My family came here most of time in 30 yrs. Their staffs are friendly and helpful. They had special dishes here included seafood, roasted pork, duck... and lot more. Had their own safe parking lot and you can find lot more other things around it like desert, shops, oriental groceries, Karaoke, Dancing Clubs... They open 7 days a week, lunch to after midnight, weekend open later. Not sure they take reservation? No delivery... We are recommended! Have a great meals.

I have not been here for three years, so wondered if it was still as popular as ever. The restaurant is a fusion of Chinese & Vietnamese, and the prices are quite reasonable. I do feel the décor needs to be upgraded as it is somewhat dated. The food was pretty good, between the three of us, we ordered several different meals, including starters and entree's. Overall the food is good, and I particularly enjoyed the crispy shrimp & walnuts. I was tempted to go for the crispy duck, but maybe I will try that another time. For the record, parking can be very tight here, which is one reason I don't come at peak times. The wait staff can be a bit slow though, but I suppose given the numbers of customers, I would be too come the end of the day. Hire a few more staff, just a suggestion.

Late night munchies and very few options. Thankfully. Peking duck and Kung Pao Squid were perfect - almost like being in Beijing, The duck was perfect, with a nicely carmelized skin and heavenly steam buns. The squid was unique, and without nuts - still very good. The restaurant had more people than expected, including a few families. Lots of cop cars out front. Probably a good idea at that time. I will b e back for a proper meal.

The food here is good. Just be aware that it's usually pretty crowded.

Sinh sinh is an old establishment that we used frequently go since almost 20 years ago. This time the service was bad. We only ordered fish congee with fried bread, bbq fried rice and meatball veggie soup. The food came out so long. More than half an hour. We had to repeat out our drinks order. And when the congee came out, we still had to wait for the fried bread. Did not come out until I have to come to the counter and asked for it. Still the waiter answered me rudely. Also people smoked so the inside also stink. I don't think I would come back to eat here anymore. Not worth the hassle.

My husband and I walked in looking for some good Asian food, but we were immediately surprised at all the fish tanks when you walk in, first thought was fresh seafood, ok, lets sit down. We ordered vietnamese egg rolls, while waiting we realized most of the fish, lobsters in the tanks were already dead and just floating around. Then we received our appetizer Vietnamese egg rolls and they looked very strange. Like they had freeze burned in the fridge before they were stuck in the fryer. We preceded to roll one up in the lettuce provided and I was not able to swallow the gunky stuff inside or the gummy stuff that was supposed to be the crispy but was the most horrid tasting thing. Then we received our food Kung Pao chicken and Sweet & Sour Pork. The pork was either freeze burned then fried or it went thru some kind of trauma because it was unrecognizable and did not taste at all like sweet & sour pork. The Kung Pao chicken was literally dark pieces of chicken which tasted funny...I spit it out and we got the check and left. We did not complain and we do not need an apology or any type of explanation, there is no way you can get me to go back there. I took it as a mistake I wont make again.
Great meal because of company and hot pot
We were visiting Houston with family. This was our introduction to HOT POT. We had a great meal. The place was very busy - Memorial Day weekend lunch. Ambience not exciting. Food was good and the family gathering well accommodated. Chinese and Vietnamese dishes .We were amused by sign on tank of fish on sides of which was written in English -- "Please keep your children. Thankyou" !!!
