Afternoon stop

By Mark S |

We did the cemetery tour, so we could stop at the Restaurant ( 6 feet under), glad we did. The first thing on the list, Spicy Rat Toes, and Sweet Mouse Toe, and Extra Dragon Toes. Loved the heat, of the peppers, but the cold beer did the trick. Would definitely go back.

Family Reunion

By Matarsha C |

The food was delicious, I really like the fried green tomatoes & fried catfish. The food was cooked fresh to order. We will definitely go there again.

Great View

By Kiana T |

I wish we had visited this restaurant on a summer night. The view upstairs is gorgeous. The food was okay, nothing to write home about but decently priced. Drinks were the average overpriced amount of $12-15. Waiter was funny and cool but didn't get my order right to save my life.

Best place to nest for sunset

By Cocktails_at_Seven |

Have a told you how magical it is to watch the sun set a top 6 feet under across from Oakland cemetery? Well obviously you’ve never lived until you’ve done that.

So good

By suz64 |

We went there 2 times during our stay, food was great and well as the service. We had some southern food which was cooked to perfection,Sweet Mouse Toes and catfish bites. We will be back!

Very poor quality food

By Ray H |

My family and I visited at 5:00pm on a Friday afternoon Jam 7. Server was pleasant and engaging. This is the only reason I rated our visit with 2 stars instead of 1 star. The fish and chips basket were very poor quality. The fish was small portions and tasted freezer burnt. Hush puppies tasted like they were cooked in old oil. Very disappointed.

Great Service

By FraternityVillage |

Vera and Brett were both very helpful and attentive. This was our first visit to Atlanta and we will be back here for the great food and service. Fish soup is a very large bowl and delicious. Chicken salad a great t meal and plenty of it. Scallops and shrimp in parchment were fabulous!

A must

By Care |

This resturaunt is a must. Fried green tomatoes to start with. The big tuna is awesome. Shared the combo tacos, calamari, shrimp and fish, each taco had it own flavor. Went at 3.00, other wise there are lines of people. Well worth the wait.

Be suspicious.

By nearbyhere |

Be incredibly suspicious of a restaurant that describes itself as “family friendly “ and casual yet boots the car of a 39 week pregnant mother who inadvertently parked in a lightly used lot to patronize their neighbor. They then demand payment only by a Visa card! This is an offensive money grab. It is neither friendly nor family oriented. Their judgment and character is not to be trusted.

Excellent Local Fare!

By LeAnn K |

Excellent service and a superb meal! We were warmly greeted. Our wait staff went above and beyond in a very natural way. Excellent Shrimp and Grits. Steak Frites was also good (we subbed for Hush Puppies….so good!!). Killer Cole Slaw was delicious! A wonderful Evening. Loved the ambience!

Found what I was looking for

By AraeT |

Rooftop atmosphere with a view of downtown and the cemetery. Excellent food and service. I was looking for something authentic, something I had never eaten before and ordered a recommendation from our server, salmon sliders and zucchini fries, loved them both

Worst shrimp and grits of my life. Management needs to have hosts help the wait staff.

By Annsims |

Wonderful location, but food was TGIF level at best, service ridiculously slow. Plenty of hosts, but none of them appear to be assisting wait staff. About the food- I am a diehard shrimp and grits person. I order them everytime I see them on a menu and I travel a lot. These shrimp and grits were by far the worst I have ever had. So spicy I could only eat about 5 bites which I was making myself do because I didn’t want my friends and family to notice. I pushed my bowl to the side hoping the waitress would notice I didn’t eat them but she said nothing. No one else was complimenting their food or saying “it’s so good.” I think we are a group of polite people and didn’t say we were less than pleased because we don’t like to complain. I notice other people say the shrimp and grits were bland. Maybe I should Have said something because these grits were grainy, not fully cooked, and there was so much spice they were inedible.

Good Time

By Trianne |

The margaritas was awesome. They are 40 a pitcher, but good. Tickets over 50 bucks will automatically get a tip added. My friend did the three taco selection, my husband had the pick three option, and I had fried fish sandwich. The batter they use did have a little kick to it. We had a great time.

Excellent Cemetery Views and Food

By AF |

After visiting Oakland Cemetery, we popped in for a beer and a snack. The fried pickles and the catfish basket were great and the beers hit the spot, but the best thing was sitting up on their rooftop patio facing the cemetery with a full view of all of the graves on a sunny day. If we had a bigger appetite we would have ordered the shrimp and grits because they looked great. Maybe next time.

Good food near historic Oakland Cemetery

By jenned17 |

Fast and friendly service on a Friday night. Great menu. Love the tacos and variety of dishes from appetizers to main dishes. Tour Oakland Cemetery to get a taste of local history and then dine on the roof or inside for local flavor whether you enjoy seafood or just good food.

Food and Beer!

By C C |

The crab crusted salmon was delicious! They have a wonderful beer selection especially if you want to try something new, The food is flavorful and hot, just don't be in a hurry, They are also on the no wait app which saved us 30 min wait. Highly recommended after a visit to the zoo.

Pre-Birthday Dinner

By Trilissia B |

We decided to eat here, not a bad choice. I had the crab leg boil and it was pretty good. Good waitress and environment.

Dependably good, great seafood!

By Chris D |

My wife and I visit this restaurant at least a couple times a month. We love the seafood there, including the crabcake appetizers and the enormous fish stew. There’s a deck upstairs that’s lovely if the weather’s not too hot.

Disappointing

By Kathryn R |

I’ve been here several times but it’s been a while and today did not live up to the memory. The food was blah and seemed like it sat for quite some time in the window. In their defense, we were sitting up top, but still. I talked my son into getting the crab cake sliders and they were a huge let down. The fish and chips were also meh. The peel and shrimp with fries was reportedly very good. And while I realize we’re in downtown Atlanta, $8 for a lukewarm local draft beer is ridiculous. Love love love the rooftop bar but it wasn’t enough to warrant a subpar, $150 meal.

New Year's Day with Seafood!

By CaptTrouble |

We went here for dinner on New Year's Day. It wasn't too busy and a server quickly cleared a booth so we could sit next to a window. My husband and I started with Killer Ritas ($10 ea). Very good. I ordered the Combo Basket with Catfish ($19.25) My husband ordered the Crab Crusted Salmon Platter ($18.50). My husband really liked his and it was plenty of food. The salmon had great flavor. My combo basket was very good and it came with a massive catfish fillet. I should've taken half home but I was flying out the next day. It also had breaded shrimp and breaded calamari, as well as hush puppies and house chips. I left most of the chips as I was stuffed! The seafood was excellent. I also ordered an Atlanta Old Fashioned ($10); very good! Friendly, fast service and a clean restaurant with clean bathrooms. On-street parking that wasn't bad on this particular day. And, a view of the cemetery. We will definitely go back.

Fun

By suz |

Crowded but worth the wait for a tasty lunch and good service. Ample menu and great location to many events. We really enjoyed our time there and never felt rushed.

Taste of Atlanta

By ParisOrNewYork |

We ate here as part of a Taste of Atlanta tour (that was excellent) Tasty food and a willingness to cater service to special needs eaters (vegan and gluten-free). Service was friendly. Somewhat limited on-street parking Nice decor.

Food good drinks high

By Anthony Z |

Stopped in traveling thru Atlanta. We had 3 apps and 3 drinks. Their drinks are super high priced. Food was good.

Just marvelous!!

By David W |

Take nine hungry and tired Master Gardeners just off a two-hour tour of Oakland Cemetery and lead them across the street to this place!! Serice was fast and courteous and the food was delicious. The taco combo (fish, shrimp, and chicken) was amazing. Then there were the desserts. Portions huge enough to pass around the table for everyone to enjoy. Can't wait to go back and enjoy it all over again.

Great cemetery view with good food and atmosphere

By jpjpjpjpj |

We ate at Six Feet Under after our Oakland Cemetery tour. It's located just across the street (of the side of the cemetery, not front gate) and has a rooftop deck (covered) that overlooks the cemetery. Very cool place to be in the daylight or during the Halloween weekends when Oakland's many beautiful, historic tombstones and statues are lit. Though this place is large, it can be quite difficult to get seated at a table. A very popular place! Now they have the NOWAIT app which allows you to select a restaurant and send them a message with the number in your party while you are on your way. If at all possible, sit on the rooftop deck which has it's own bar and serves the full menu which includes many delicious apps, if you want to just do small bites. Additionally, there are some other great choices such as crab cake sliders, various salads and sandwiches, many with an emphasis on seafood. Everything we tried was very tasty.

Yummy food near Oakland Cemetery

By 2BoysMomCA |

I had just finished an audio tour of Oakland Cemetery and was famished. Delicious Caesar salad with blackened chicken. Creative cocktails. Lively outdoor patio and bar upstairs. Would definitely visit again.

Big easy type of vibe

By GeauxGyrl |

The worst thing about this place is the parking...I always have to park along the street & walk a few minutes. There is usually a wait (download the nowait app to save time) as I only sit on the terrace when I dine here. The vibe is chill, easy going & the service is good. I'm a Louisiana native & I love the food here. Several dishes are similar to what I'd find at restaurants back home. My food isn't always the best I've ever had but even on 'bad' days I'm happy. You can order from the bar outside while you wait but it gets crowded. I wish the terrace bar had a view other than the bartenders. Ask for seating overlooking the historic cemetery for some people watching.

Six feet under Pub and fish Grant Park Atl GS

By Valencia L |

I have been to bad restaurants before, but this is the worst ever. My son became violently ill after eating some beans, shrimp and fish. He started cramping in the place so we left ASAP. They put pepper in the onion rings. BAD service and questionable food. I reported them to health dept (Fulton County GA) after talking to manager who offered no relief. If you eat here -YOU might be Six Feet Under the same day. HORRIBLE Food

TOP NOTCH

By Gerald G |

TOP NOTCH. Excellent food. Exceptional server. Sophia went far beyond what to expect as a server. We’ve been to many restaurants from Hilton Head to Chicago. Not one server came close to her. A pleasant personality and a real gem. WELL DONE!

GREAT CASUAL PLACE TO GET A GREAT MEAL

By Larry B |

Overall I have to say this place was wickedly good. If I have to point out one small negative, that would be the parking situation. The restaurant is in an area that is undergoing some massive building and revitalization, so parking is at a premium. HOWEVER, they do a great job by offering a small shuttle service to bring customers back and forth between alternate parking locations. When you first walk in your greeted with some very friendly people who help seat you. You have an option of indoor or outdoor seating which is upstairs. Our server, Chloe (hope I spelled it correctly) was so on point with her service. Her recommendations were so spot on for our dining party everyone was amazed. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the kickin cole slaw!! Portion sizes were great even for a big eater like my self, the ability to substitute items was never an issue. the bar drinks were so amazing. the seating is a little crowded however there were no issues navigating even for the larger members of our party. The mood and dress code was so relaxed and friendly it lent a nice touch to the relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant. Back to the food, pricing was modest, the average plate was between $15 & $20 but so worth every penny. Our resident vegetarian had no issue finding some choices for their meal which impressed me. In the end, it was a great experience and I do plan to go back. Great Job!!!

Bad day for the waitress?

By Melanie Little |

We wanted drinks after a Saturday walk through Oakland Cemetery, right across the street from this location. Our drinks were fine. The waitress though, she was having such a bad day. She couldn’t look us in the eye. When we weren’t completely ready to order a meal, she just walked away. No explanation or promise to return? Which she did about 8 minutes later. Really inexcusable in mid-afternoon at a bar. Sadly, the mandatory 20% gratuity on our check gave her no reason to provide good service. We did order apps and snacks with our drinks and, though greasy, they were good and what we expected. Convenient to Oakland, we will likely be back again.

Good restaurant close to the airport

By barb11172016 |

Very cute little restaurant. They have a back deck, where we ate. It was nice and cool. Very quaint. The service was very good. The food was good. They were out of a few things so we substituted. I would go there again.

Food Tour Stop #1

By 80Shaq80 |

This place was our first stop with a food tour and it was delicious, the catfish and okra fries were light and not overwhelmingly bartered/greasy and the shrimp and grits were a modern take on the dish but tasted really good. If I had more days in Atlanta, I would have returned to try a full meal.

Fish and Chips

By Corgidad |

Last night I ordered the fish and chips. When I received the food, the fries were luke warm. The fish was hot and fresh. I don't like sending food back, but I did ask for a new order of fries. The fries came hot and fully cooked, but after a few minutes, they didn't keep a crisp texture and went soft-- although they were still hot. It was the strangest thing. I think the problem is the french fry product itself.

My Favorite

By Lesley B |

I love the food (and Bloody Mary bar) here but also the atmosphere is great. I live near the one in Grant Park so that's the one I go to all the time but I've also been to the one on the west side. Both locations have amazing outdoor decks and views. My favorite things on the menu are the cheeseburger, the chimichurri steak and the buffalo chicken sandwich. Yummmmm!

Mediocre Meal

By jeajful_20 |

Mediocre for my taste. The hushpuppies in my order had no flavor. The broiled seafood was just ok. I will not be returning to try anything else on their menu. Too many restaurants in the "A" now so you only get 1 time to impress.

Always a great choice!

By Orange Bug |

Service was great! Food is always good. Love the seafood stew. Yum! Jalapeño hush puppies are good. Tacos very good. If you like wasabi you will love their wasabi dressing. Great on spinach and for dipping. Dine on the roof. One of the bests views of the city (Howell Mill location).

Great Place for a Long, Lazy Lunch

By GypsySonnetGirl |

Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon with a group of six. Five of us had a seafood dish: catfish tacos, calamari tacos, crab cake sliders, and fried catfish salad. One of us had a fried green tomato sandwich. All of us really liked the food. They had a nice selection of craft beers. After a delicious lunch, we were able to walk through Oakland Cemetery and saw the graves of Margaret Mitchell and Bobby Jones.

Happy spot to grab some great seafood!

By MariaEC_RN |

Excellent service by our waiter, Alberto. Food was delicious. The view outside the front windows was... appropriate (well done naming this restaurant! 👏)

Change brought us here, but worth the trip

By Ingrid W |

After spending a rainy day in downtown Atlanta, we wanted to find someplace to eat outside of downtown with ample parking. In a round about way, we ended up at Six Feet Under. I was surprised by the size of the restaurant and the ability to accommodate crowds. There are plenty of options outside of seafood if you are not the seafood eating type. My husband had the steak salad which really looked good. I went with the catfish tacos which were very tasty. I'm glad we stumbled upon such a good restaurant by sheer luck and trusting in Trip Advisor reviews.

took some out of town friends to visit Oakland Cemetery and have dinner at Six Feet Under

By Charles R |

it is always very good, we can count on good service and good food. the appetizers are a complement to the entrees.

20% SERVICE CHARGE ADDED TO CHECK

By stuckon75 |

I was surprised to see a 20% SERVICE CHARGE added to my bill. I asked for the manager. He explained that waiters are waiting on tables of 20 people and not getting the money they deserve. I can understand why you would add gratuity on the check for large parties and I’ve seen in other restaurants a menu will state “18 percent gratitude added for 6 or more.” But You do not charge a single person an automatic gratuity! I told the manager I will not pay this! And if I’m charged, I will dispute the charges. I AM SUGGESTING THAT THE GENERAL MANAGER HANDS OUT A SIGN ALONG WITH THE MENUS THAT STATES THE SERVICE CHARGE. The manager stated he knew it was a problem and that people complain but the owner believes he has a right to charge it and told me he’s been instructed to enforce it no matter what. He also told me to look up. If you look up you will see a sign stating there’s a service charge for $50 tabs. I tip but when I see a SERVICE CHARGE, I don’t want to. I Understand that this is so you can take this and pay your employee higher wages. The line for tip which is under the service charge would go to the server. Sad thing is, some people won’t even know you added this line on there bill and add a tip. The manager encouraged 25 percent tip. It’s only $6, but it’s the principle. I’m not going to have someone tell me how much to tip. Very deceptive behavior in my opinion.

Many visits, zero disappointments!

By Benjamin S |

This Atlanta “seafood with a Cajun/Southern/modern twist” restaurant is always a sure bet for a great meal. The menu has something for everyone, but especially seafood lovers. Definitely try the “rat toes” appetizer ( just trust me 😂)! The shrimp and grits are delicious, and the fried seafood plates are always a great choice. As usual, the service was friendly, efficient, but not intrusive. Where else can you slurp fresh Gulf oysters of the half shell, sitting adjacent to a historic cemetery?

Catfish and okra- with wasabi!

By JED-tx |

The catfish appetizer had a cucumber wasabi soy sauce. Yes that’s right and it was fabulous. We sat on the rooftop overlooking the cemetery. A walk through the cemetery after dinner was a history lesson. I hope to get the opportunity to visit again. Really enjoyed it. Catfish Fingers Hand breaded & tossed with whole fried okra. Red onion, fresh jalapeño, cilantro, sides of sweet chili & cucumber wasabi soy

Celebrating 50 Years of Marriage

By Anna B |

Our children took us out to the Georgia Aquarium and then to eat at Six Feet Under to celebrate our anniversary. Their were ten of us, and none of us had been there before although we heard about the restaurant. The food was delicious, and our waitress was great. Her name is Angel. If you go there, may you be lucky enough to get her for your waitress. The restaurant serves a lot of seafood, and our grandson has allergies to white fish. Although, the parents had brought his meal from home, she was very understanding about possible cross-contamination and made sure she always washed her hands before handling his water glass. He is a special needs child, and was often up by his chair dancing to the videos he had on his Ipad. In the close quarters of the restaurant seating she took that all in stride and made everyone feel as if she was their own personal waitress. Our special needs grandchild felt so comfortable with her that he asked to go to the kitchen and give her a hug goodby. We were all pretty tired when we sat down from walking at the aquarium, and she made us feel right at home.

A deadly view

By Mark E |

Great bar food and drinks with superior service. Get a table on the roof for a great view of Oakwood cemetery

Bad Lunch Experience...Made Better

By mrsgapeach |

I phoned in an order at Six Feet Under today with the expectation that my meal would be ready when I arrived and I could get back to make a business appointment. Needless to say, that didn't happen. The bartender was oblivious to to the fact that the order was sitting on the counter, where he passed by it for 20 minutes without as much as checking to see if a customer had ordered it. Then, once he was informed that the meal had been sitting there, in plain view, for almost 30 minutes, he had the nerve to snatch it off of the counter and try to give it to me. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I do give the manager credit for trying to make things right; but, it cost me another 20 minutes to get the remake! And the place was almost empty! More than1 hour for a call in order! UNACCEPTABLE! I really enjoy the food at 6 Feet Under, but the service sucks. Not the first substandard customer experience I've had there. Won't go back!

Unusual, yet very pleasant lunch

By Coco B |

I am not used to have lunch while overlooking a cemetery. But this restaurant is a fun place with a wonderful rooftop terrace, great food (sliders are excellent) and great beer. Staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. Visit the cemetery and cross the street to have lunch or dinner there. The ground floor rooms are also great: lots of knickknacks on the walls and great atmosphere.

Always good...

By Erika S |

I really enjoy this place, they have friendly options for kids and also good and fresh variety for adults, we always go to this place before soccer games, kind of kids friendly before 7 pm.

Great seafood and cocktails

By Mark W |

We ate on the rooftop patio it was a beautiful day you overlook Oakland Cemetery and all the flowers were in bloom really pretty. The menu has a lot of seafood items and are quite good.

A great meal

By Courtney K |

Very happy with our dinner at Six Feet Under. Good service and delicious food. My husband had the fried shrimp platter and was very happy with it. I had the chilled shrimp boiler pot and added a king crab leg to it. I do wish that the boiler pots came with some sort of side. I had to order a side salad so that I wasn't just eating shrimp and crab and nothing else.

Worth a visit

By Christian |

The drinks were very strong and good! Loved the peach margarita! The hush puppies & catfish were very good. The calamari was ok (kinda over cooked/chewy) but loved the sauce that came with it. The chowder was good but kind of small for the price. The key lime pie was very large and good. The parking situation sucks (back parking lot fills up quick and some of the spaces are too tight to get in/out without hitting car next to you) and there was only two bathrooms so there was a line. The restaurant was very large so you would think there would be more bathrooms. The service was excellent and fast. We went on a cold rainy night so can’t see the patio everyone talks about but we would definitely come back in warmer months.

Great service during Tropical Storm Irma.

By VanillaAce |

We arrived right before Tropical Storm Irma and the restaurant was getting ready to close. However, the staff sat us and provided excellent service. Sweet mice toes are a must try. The shrimp tacos were very good also.

Best restaurant ever!

By Amy W |

We were in town and found six feet under on the second night. We went there the next six nights in a row!! We had either Alex or Marquis as our server every night and they are both phenomenal, GREAT guys. The food is outstanding! We ordered the gator bites every night, they are delicious and super tender. Try them buffalo style! The roasted corn salad and crab cakes were amazing as well. Overall super A+ for this place, highly recommend going there. We will go back any time we are in Atlanta.

Pairing with Historic Oakland Cemetery

By Richard J |

Family dinner after Oakland Cemetery walking tour. We saw reviews for the restaurant, and saw it's location as we toured this famous cemetery and landmark in East Atlanta. Great choice. Service was friendly and the food delicious. Highly recommended, the crab cakes and spinach, fish and chips, salmon sliders, and grilled white fish. Will definitely return.

Atlanta's Best in Fried Food

By ATL_Jacket |

Six Feet Under is the place to go in Atlanta for fried foods. Their rooftop seating may be the city's best view, framing downtown behind the gorgeous Oakland Cemetery. The zucchini fries and hush puppies are my favorites, managing to be surprisingly light for fried food. This is one of Atlanta's best places to get a bite and a beer.

Walk Right Out of the Cemetery Gate to a Delicious Meal!

By Illinois_John |

After our walking tour of the Oakland Cemetery we exited through the pedestrian entry directly across the street to the restaurant. We arrived about 4:00 on a Saturday afternoon and were immediately seated. They have a nice selection of appetizers as well as meals. The fried green tomatoes were delicious. I got the shrimp and scallops platter with onion rings and asparagus as my sides. The shrimp and scallops were cooked in parchment paper and were delicious. I really liked that you could get asparagus as a side. The onion rings were just okay. My brother got the same dinner, but with corn on the cob as one of his sides. He was very pleased that the corn on the cob was nicely cooked and not soggy. The only main dish that got a not so good review was the crab cakes which were just so-so. The service was friendly and attentive. We would all return for another meal there.

Wish it were better!

By VSheriff |

Our spirits were good upon entering the establishment on a rainy day. We were second in line and saw a lady standing near, not sure if she worked there or just a patron, so we thought we'd ask if she knew if the seating in the bar was open table or if it was necessary to stand in line for the hostess. She was rude and indicated that we've already passed the hostess as if she was put out by our question. Not a good start. Once the four of us chose a table in the bar area, the same lady showed up to be our waitress/server. Ugh. She tossed our menus on the table, grunted something and left. She returned awhile later and took our drink order. With the attitude, we chose not to eat there, paid for the drinks and left. Seemed like some of the other personnel had the same demeanor. Also, being in marketing, it would be nice to see the staff wearing the "six feet under" shirts so you could differentiate who was staff... and maybe it would sell more shirts to customers. Just a thought. Our servers name was Karen on 10/28/17 at 3:00. Maybe try it again another day, but the bar/restaurant down the way was awesome...

Excellent craft beer

By dphoser |

A simple, no frills venue. Excellent service and a nice selection of craft beers. A little pricey but well worth the visit. Take time to visit ‘Tie One On’ walls inside and take a picture.

Night out

By wook323 |

Tried the second location off memorial drive. Nice location and building. The food tastes the same. Got the fish and chips, really delicious. If your hungry it night not be enough. Really quite on this Monday night...

Outstanding food and customer service.

By Darrell J |

A great grilled fish sandwich. Outstanding customer service. The blueberry lemonade was outstanding. A must visit if you are in Atlanta.

Go for the view - stay for the food.

By SafariYoga |

A trio of friends sat 'on the roof' for a late afternoon gathering. How could you NOT sit there and enjoy a bit of the Atlanta skyline? I can recommend the Georgia Mule as a cocktail -- the cucumber ice cubes in it were a great touch. Food-wise, we shared Mouse Toes (stuffed peppers wrapped in bacon), calamari, and gator bites. All were great.

Definitely Recommended

By Dutchtower |

Great, friendly, and helpful service. Food was perfectly cooked and served promptly. I had the shrimp and scallops baked in parchment with grits and slaw as sides...all perfect!

Delectable food, friendly service

By chaya K |

The ahi tuna was among the very best I've ever tasted. Literally mouth-watering. Our server was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is casual and fun. Definitely recommend.

Nasty Food

By Travels with Frank |

Not sure of what all the hype is about this place. Clam chowder soup is mediocre at best. Had the crab cake sliders that tasted like salmon. Shrimp sliders were a little bit better, but not by much. Fried okra was good, but that was about it. Service and atmosphere was however great. For $50, this place was not worth it and I wouldn’t even go back if it was half the price.

Awesome

By alsadler11 |

My wife and I took my daughter here after her basketball game and it was amazing. The atmosphere was great along with the service and food. I had the catfish platter and greens. The catfish was the best I've ever had and I just can't stop thinking about it. I've been back twice and can't bring myself to order anything else. The key lime pie and brownie sundae is also delicious. We will become regulars after game days at Georgia State that's for sure.

Fried Catfish to Die For at Six Feet Under

By Gluguy |

Visited SFU this week with about eight colleagues. Had catfish fingers and calamari appetizers and combo basket with shrimp oysters and catfish. Catfish was outstanding. Oysters and shrimp were over cooked. For dessert several of us had the bread pudding and one had the key lime pie. The banana bread pudding was just OK. Too much nutmeg and the whiskey in the sauce was heavy handed. Just a bit overpowering. Key lime pie wasn’t the real deal. Service was good. I’d go back for the catfish and slaw but not the other items.

Fried Seafood overlooking the Graveyard

By HLandP |

Food was pretty good and large portions. Service was good. A bit pricey for the type of food but not over the top.

Seafood is INCREDIBLE!

By dbsouth |

Oysters Rockefeller….Awesome! Mouse Toes…..Awesome! Fish Stew….Awesome! Onion Rings….Awesome! Salmon BLT Sliders….Awesome!

Would Recommend Six Feet Under

By Bigredmachine |

Six Feet Under is a convenient location for lunch while in the MLK National Historic Park/Oakland Cemetery area. Our party of five enjoyed everything we ordered. The grilled catfish tacos are particularly noteworthy as were the fried green tomatoes. The claim chowder is another item not to be missed. We appreciated our efficient server, particularly considering that the restaurant was short handed. One thing that we found irritating was the 20% surcharge for orders over $50. It is easy to miss this on the bill and then leave a second tip.

Wife loves it...I like it

By John C |

My wife and I have been eating here for about 5 years. She loves it. I just think it's ok. I think I wanted more British or Irish style fish n chips. Theirs was light and flaky, but it was not what I wished it was. My wife had the crab cakes. She thought they were good. I didn't want more than one bite. It had peppers that were too big for my liking. The filler had too much presence for me. Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed my meal. But it's not on my "last meal must have" list if that makes sense.

Fun Place

By drnesbitt |

Actually, we went to the one on 11th. The food and service were good - as usual. There used to be a great view of downtown from this venu - used to be - in the years that I was not there, a very large and tall parking garage has been built that obscures a fair part of the view - rats - that was always a great attraction - there's still a view but just not like it used to be -- still -- fun times :)

Always a must when we go to Atlanta!

By travelboy2007 |

For years, every trip we make to Atlanta we make sure one night we visit Six Feet Under. The food and atmosphere are both great!

Great!

By Natalie W |

Great place to warm a seat and have a few drinks rocks and salmon was cooked to perfection. Conn was also a nice appetizer

Low quality food.

By Glaucia |

I ordered shrimp and scalop, with rosted potatoes and cooked spinach. Almost a $20 plate. The amount and the size of the shrimp and the scalops was pitiful. The potatoes looked and tasted like it was made days ago and reheated. The cooked spinash was...cooked. No salt, no butter, nothing, but to be fare, it was following the menu's description. My husband's fish and chips was really 2 miniscule fish fingers The chips were very oily. Nothing tasted fresh. The restaurant was full, and considering the quality of its food, it is a mistery for me.

Good Dinner

Went here with a group of friends for dinner. A good experience overall--food was tasty, service was friendly, and the ambiance is great. We all split some Spicy Rat Toes for the appetizer, which are stuffed jalapeños with shrimp. They are definitely spicy and tasty; they have a not spicy and a super spicy version as well. For dinner, I got the tuna which was served on a bed of about six pounds of spinach. The fish was a bit cold but had good flavor, and the sauce helped give the dish an identity. While there was a lot of spinach, it was good and at the very least made me feel like I ate my veggies for the day. I'd get it again but would likely go for something else next time just to try something else. Everyone enjoyed their food--catfish was good, crab legs were good, and those who drank said they liked their choice. Great place to grab some seafood at a reasonable price.

Can’t go wrong

I love the vibe of this restaurant. Very eclectic and fun. Everything is good, service is warm and welcoming.

Amazing fish and chips!

By Caryn899 |

My husband and I came here to eat and there was so much to choose from! I had heard about the fish and chips so my mind was already made up. It came with your choice of fries or chips, if I’m going bad then of course I choose the fries. It also came with jalapeño hush puppy and jalapeño tarter sauce. I think whatever you try you won’t be disappointed.

Horrible- overpriced, tasteless and poor quality food

By Voyager734396 |

Went with a large group of 25+. Have been there several other times and it has been fine. Yesterday it was terrible. My large caesar salad was only romaine lettuce and a few slivers of cheese. had to ask for anchovies (got 3 tiny ones) and dressing (about a tbsp worth in a plastic cup). I barely touched it and, when the bill for $18.50 came, I asked to see the manager. She did not charge me, but what a disaster. Probably 50 cents worth of lettuce, water was never refilled. Friends had similar experiences:overcooked, dry shrimp on the po boy, homemade potato crisps totally tasteless, onion rings and zucinni fries soggy and limp. New manager/cook? but overall awful and disappointing. Prices are high (but that is everywhere) never again.

Tasty

By suz |

Really crowded on a Fri night but it was a short wait and staff most professional. Ample menu and seafood dishes were fresh and tasty and we were not rushed at all. Enjoyed appetizers, main dishes and drinks. Really hopping place and good service.

Fish and chips!

By Riotgreen |

Fish and chips! Beer selection was unimpressive but the random sports bar atmosphere with some oddities makes for an interesting atmosphere. I would definitely go again too. Also a great stop after visiting the cemetery as it right across the street.

Food to go

By awookk |

I placed my order online on postmates. I went to pick it up and it was ready by the time I got there. I tried the conch fritters and gator bites for the first time. I’ve been here once awhile back it’s been so long I can’t recall.

Afternoon Date

By gailbD2322RN |

The food was good. I had crab cake slider and gumbo. I have had better crab cakes. Gumbo okay. House salad was very good. Tried the Po Boy sandwich it very and had nice size shrimp. Would have it the next time. Parking is not good. The wait was not to long for a Saturday evening.

Very casual eatery, good oysters

By rokkap |

Six Feet Under is a very casual, bar-like eatery. The house oysters were even better than their 'specialty' oysters. Service was exceedingly brisk, almost irritatingly...

Yummy seafood with a southern twist!

By Stephanie D |

My friends and I visited here last Saturday and it was fabulous. I cannot wait to go back with my husband. I had the friend catfish and fried okra and it was delicious. My friend had the shrimp & grits and she really enjoyed it. The ambiance is friendly and unique and the server was pleasant and fast. TWO thumbs up!

Worth the ride over!

By Firegirl834 |

Came her on a recommendation from a friend who lived in Atlanta years ago and we were so glad we did. It’s right across from Oakland Cemetery. The food was delish! Started with the fried green tomatoes, then we both decided on the crab legs. They had great flavor and all but one of my clusters would just fall right out of the shell. Best crab legs we have eaten in a very long time! Sweet tea was great.

You Guessed It !

By redbird2016 |

Yep. Right across the street from a cemetery. Oakland Cemetery where one can spend hours finding tombstones with names of famous Atlantans. Back to Six Feet Under. Some of us ordered the Firey Mule (St. Georges Green Chile Vodka w/ginger beer & more and others had a regular cocktail where $5.00 of every drink goes to the Napa Valley Disaster Fund.) Stone Crab claws, and dessert was Key Lime Pie, chocolate crust w/ strawberries drizzled on top. Yum. Great service. Happy servers.

Something for everyone

By Fun_Traveler45 |

I love seafood but I don't care for the Six Feet Under tarter sauce so we have avoided it for years but were recently invited to meet friends there for lunch. The place was packed and we avoided the seafood and had burgers, chicken sandwiches, and fries. It was really good and really fresh and showed us that it has something to offer even if their seafood isn't your thing!

Dinner

By Mitch |

Beautiful summer night on the rooftop. I had the oyster basket and substituted for the fried okra. Everything was very good. I would recommend you consider a trip to Six Feet Under, overlooking the Historic Oakland Cemetery!!

the two of us visited this restaurant several time in the last two years we always like the dinner menu we have eaten their for lunch also i recommend this restaurant whenever asked for recommendation blacken cat fish is a must for me

Great Food!!!

By M J |

My friends and I had dinner here on a Saturday night. The food and service were excellent. This restaurant has a bar and rooftop seating available. I ordered the fried catfish dinner, spinach salad, and turnips. The food was brought out quickly and everything was delicious.

It's a good spot .. nice bar .. tv's .. good service

By Jim F |

Was there with family inc two children. They seated us in the room to the left .. opposite the bar side. I have been there before, all adults, and always sat on bar side. I suppose with children the other side is more appropriate. And would have been except for the noise coming from the kitchen! There isn't a door, its open, and serves as the hangout it seems. A kitchen is always noisy but this at times was just to me intolerable. I should have insisted on rhe bar side. On the good side .. the service was excellent and our gumbo, chowders, scallops/shrimp in parchment, oysters and crab legs v good. I will go back but never sit on kitchen side again.

Great Beer - Great Catfish Fingers

By WaterBuffalo2 |

When you go for a beer and some good food across from Oakland Cemetery in the Cabbage Town area at a place named Six feet Under, you know you are in for an interesting experience. Beyond the setting, and friendly staff, the beer and the food was excellent. If you get to the Cabbage Town area of Atlanta, I recommend Six Feet Under.

Do not drive here.

By Trevor S |

Really awful stupid management will boot your car, even if you are patronizing the establishment alongside the businesses next to it. Complete scam. Food is whatever but the management or owner is terrible as what awful entrapment. Never drive here and be really careful where you park as they’ll boot you and make you pay a lofty fee.

Monday Night 30 Year Reunion

By Jennie |

Met up with an old friend from high school at Six Feet when we needed a place between his home and my hotel that would cause either of us a traffic headache. Great atmosphere and since it was a slower night we kept the table for two hours. Don’t worry we tipped well. Food was fine although not stellar. Staff friendly and atmosphere the highlight.

Worth a visit

By TuxedosToGo |

Had a late lunch on a Saturday with a group of friends. They all enjoyed various fish/crab cakes entrees, I had a burger and homemade chips. Service was good, atmosphere was interesting, restaurant was busy, plenty of TVs for sports. Overall a good spot for lunch, and then a walk over to the cemetery to say hello to Margaret Mitchell and Bobby Jones. The rooftop bar probably has a great view of the cemetery but we had lunch inside. Next time I will opt for the rooftop bar. Recommend.

Not bad, not great

By WayneandTammy |

Stopped in for lunch today after hearing about this place for some time. I had the catfish nuggets with fried okra and a bowl of gumbo. To be honest, I didn't find anything really exceptional. The fried fish was good, but nothing separating it from what's offered elsewhere. The okra was ok. The two dips that came with the dish were a Thai chili and a wasabi sauce. The sauces didn't really work for me. The chili sauce was typical Thai chili sauce, but it didn't compliment the fish or okra really. The wasabi sauce didn't really go with anything either. I asked for some tarter sauce, which complimented the fish better, but it was an unusual take on tarter sauce. Took a bit getting used to. The gumbo was very bland as far as flavor. The shrimp within the gumbo were delicious and tasted very fresh. I'm not sure what happened to the two hush puppies that accompanied the gumbo, but they were absolutely flavorless and had a rubbery texture. I ate at around 11:20, so maybe the oil wasn't hot enough or maybe the hush puppy batter was out of the fridge and cold. Not quite sure what to think. They are referred to as jalapeno hush puppies, but I didn't detect any jalapeno or spiciness whatsoever. The restaurant did have a great atmosphere and friendly staff. To me, the menu had creative and versatile options, but was a little pricey.

Two Words"Fried Alligator"

By BBeard61015 |

I really love this place. It is my go to when ever I'm planning small birthday get togethers. The food is delicious. My favorite Fried Alligator and Salmon Sliders. The only downside is parking especially at night when it's busy.

Monthly HS Group Meeting

By osnoopy13 |

Our group of 15 members met at this location last week. Several in the group had been there before and liked it. We met for lunch and everyone had a great time. Nice atmosphere and great service. Food was excellent. I got the slider’s with corn salad as a side. My wife got the catfish basket. Food came out quick and our servers were excellent! A few tried the desserts and recommended the bread pudding or cheese cake. Our group was able to sit all together at one long table. Recommend it for other groups but be advised that they do not accept reservations for small groups.

Oh my GOD!!

By Sasha H |

Omg guys GOD took his time when he created the chef and staff of this place! When I say the food was GOOD I mean it was GOOOOOD. I totally recommend the blackened catfish, superb.. Kudos, Namaste, Nom yo reng Kyo!! And no they did not pay me to write this 😄

Hush Puppies

By Melissa |

Grabbed a bite to eat and a Bloody Mary here the other day and fortunately we got here post brunch/lunch rush and were able to get a table right away (it can get quite crowded at peak dinning hours and on nice days). It wasn't the nicest of days outside, so we sat in the restaurant as opposed to sitting up on the roof top patio. The patio has amazing views of Oakland Cemetery and the City Skyline and I would definitely recommend coming here for the atmosphere alone on a nice day/night.

Shrimp and Grits!

By Kmtsg |

Visited as part of a food tour. The shrimp and grits was amazing! Shrimp were sweet and cooked perfectly. Everything we sampled was good.

Good seafood, eat upstairs

By Fred D |

Our friends and family really enjoyed the energy of the place. We ate upstairs with a view of the Atlanta skyline, and the weather cooperated nicely! Really recommend the scallops option with the grades which is all about the south and full of flavor. The oysters on the half shell went down easily. Only negatives were that it was a bit noisy, which we were OK with, and on a Friday night Service was a bit slower, although still very friendly and funny.

Great Service, food was a mess!!!!

By Andrew H |

server and bartender were fast and great, but the food was overcooked, combo basket was supposed to be calamari, shrimp and oysters, i got a baskets of fried jiblets of hymn, i am not sure where the calamari went , it had two fried oysters and a couple of shrimp, for the price , not worth it. atmosphere is good, but if your cook is no good, you just have a bar to hang out, recommend having a talk with your cook and tell them to spend more attention to detail. a friend recommended this place because of the dragon tails and stuffed jalapenos and peppers!! stopped here after a trip to the zoo, but food just ruined it!!

Southern comfort!

By Happygoluckyang |

This was a stop on our food tour. We had the shrimp and grits as well as fried okra and catfish. All of the food was amazing!! I have never had shrimp and grits before and it was so flavorful and really comforting. The cat fish and okra was tasty but my favorite part was the sauces! The chili sauce and wasabi and soy sauce one was so good! It completed the dishes. We also had a beverage at the bar. Place was busy but still good service.

Great Place!

By Elizabeth S |

We LOVE Six Feet Under and have a great experience every time we go. This visit, in particular, is definitely worth this review. Our server, Andrew was AWESOME. We had a party of 10 and everyone’s order came out correctly. His level of patience and diligence was impressive as we weren’t his only table. We made it a point to leave him a good tip and inform the manager, Brett of Andrew’s exemplar service. I wasn’t as impressed with Brett’s reaction to this compliment. He seemed rather dismissive and almost, as if, we were interrupting him by asking him to come over to compliment Andrew. He never complimented Andrew or acknowledged his service nor did he thank us for giving the positive feedback for one of his employees. Either way, I hope Andrew is aware that we truly enjoyed our service, his patience and attention to the small things. The manager’s (Brett) reaction won’t stop us from going because of people like Andrew and I’ll just continue to leave positive feedback and these types of reviews every chance I get. Thanks again Andrew and keep up the good work!

Mostly seafood, but a good burger also

By Jim W. |

I met a friend here in advance of doing a scavenger hunt across Memorial Drive in Oakland Cemetery. We dined here on a Sunday for lunch. Despite getting there slightly early (before 11 a.m.), they let us in and we reviewed the menus. This is predominantly a seafood place, but they do have a few alternate options. I got a burger and fries. Their burger was quite good! My friend got the fish tacos, which he seemed to like. Our server was attentive without being intrusive. Another group arrived (apparently a paid tour led by a guide). At one point, I thought she said something about Six Feet Under having the larges collection of beer ads in the Southeast. I thought that I mis-heard this. However, a bit later when I hit their restroom, I noted that all the wall decoartations of magazine ads were, in fact, beer-related. So I stand corrected. If you are into 60s - 70s beer ads, this is absolutely the place for you... If you are in the area and like seafood or burgers, definitely stop in. I cannot speak to parking in the immediate area - I parked in the cemetery lot and walked through. However, this place does border some residential areas, so you may be able to find some parking a block or so south of the restaurant...

Great food but smoking allowed on patio

By Andrea B |

We had to be reseated after patrons started smoking in the upstairs patio. We were from out of town and had no idea smoking was allowed. We were promptly accommodated by the manager in a booth on the main level. The food and service was great but it’s too bad smoking is still allowed where people will be dining.

Not a fan of their menu.

By StockholmKindaGuy |

The first thing you'll want to know before coming to this restaurant is that the area is quite congested on the weekends, between the narrow streets and the various construction going on in the area. The restaurant itself has a cramped feeling about it. A turn off for me. Our party of five adults was seated at a four person booth. None of us was happy. I've eaten here a few times and always struggle to find something on the menu, and always end up with the tacos. On this occasion I had the chicken tacos. They were bland, needing some kind of sauce. It was a busy night and the food took a long time to arrive. Service was bit lackadaisical. Six Feet Under has a full bar and valet parking. There's also self-serve parking down the street. Not my kinda restaurant.

Did not live up to reputation

By jal9556 |

I had sampled their shrimp and grits, so went there for a full order. Greeter wanted me to sit at the bar. I checked it out and decided it was too rowdy for me this time. I was shown to a table for 4 near kitchen door, then to a 2 person booth. Server had 2 other new tables around me. Those got greeted, with menu explanations while I got an abrupt 'are you ready to order?' Overall, I was made to feel that a single diner was a different class. Beer came in a chilled glass and no comment, although I had requested a non-chilled glass. Entree came with a seving spoon instead of soup spoon. Entree flavors were good but unbalanced. Grits were creamy, but bland in flavor. When check came and I laid out credit card, I was told 'they do not accept Discover', end of conversation. I used gift card. A return visit to this location is not in my plans.

Drinks amore, food was a bore

By Riversong32 |

Drinks are absolutely amazing at this facility. The food however left much to be desired. I had already visited this restaurant once and had a bad experience food-wise, service is always consistently amazing, but I decided to give it another go today. The first time I got the crab and was very very disappointed. Similar with my experience today with the fried catfish plater. Food always comes out lukewarm. Taste isn't super consistent quality overall. Coleslaw is bland, hushpuppies are warm sometimes, both of these adjectives can be attributed to the rest of the sides offered. I'm very disappointed with this establishment especially after all the hype I hear about it. It's honestly below chain restaurants like Captain Ds or Red Lobster, In my opinion, and I'm a huge fan of mom and pops/smaller companies. I hope they change recipes, learn seasonings, or something because they have great potential to be amazing but they are absolutely just average/sub par right now.

Sorry not impressed!

By DayTrip41547537691 |

I'm not impressed with the food at Six Feet Under Pub. We were there last night and the food got me sick. Fish, fries and calamari tastes like it was cooked with an old oil. I also ordered clam chowder - it was delivered at the end of my meal. The server said I didn't know that you ordered clam chowder. How could you not know, you asked me after you took the order if I want it before serving my full meal. Clam chowder was not even hot and the potatoes are raw. Also as a suggestion do not fry scallops on a clam chowder soup. I don't think the food is worth the price.

Enjoyed our first visit

By Gary O |

We were invited here by another couple and really enjoyed it. We had our 3 year old granddaughter with us and the staff were very helpful with a high chair, crayons and child's menu. I had the fish and chips which came with jalapeno tarter sauce and jalapeno hush puppies. Everything was very good. Everyone enjoyed the food they selected. The service was excellent. We hope to come back to take advantage of the rooftop patio that offers views of downtown.

Went there based on reviews

By Christopher N |

Went there based on reviews of their fish and chips that I had read. I unfortunately did not have the same culinary experience and will not be going back. Morton’s fish sticks with cold fries is what comes to mind.

Rooftop seating, great food!

By CaptTrouble |

We went here on a busy Friday night in gorgeous weather. We waited for a rooftop spot overlooking the Oakland Cemetery and got it. Our server did a good job considering how busy they were and that she had to go up steps with everything. We started out with drinks: I got a Killer Rita ($10), my husband a Red Brick laughing Skull ($8.50). Appropriate. We started with Oysters Rockefeller ($12). Excellent. For entrees we ordered a Shrimp Basket with a side of okra, and a Super Combo Catfish Basket. I then had a Filthy Martini ($12). The baskets were delicious and were a LOT of food. The martini was also great. Great food, patio, and service!

Break up that cemetery visit!

By Andrew B |

Hungry and thirsty after spending a couple of hours around the wonderful Oakland historic cemetery? Look no further than six feet under! As well as being aptly named the food is great. Try the catfish po boy and you won't be disappointed

Best cheese cheeseburger and bartender Paco

By Marlee319 |

I went to the zoo and wanted to eat lunch and have a beer. This bar was cool. It had a wonderful atmosphere, plenty of seating at the bar, and a wonderful bartender named Paco, who took great care of me. I had a pint of Guinness and the best cheeseburger I've had in a very, very long time. They had lots of TVs all around and this is probably one of the coolest neighborhood bars around Grant Park. You can park in the back of the building or on the street. That's the only downside.

Terrible

By Barry R |

Service was terrible. I ordered oysters, they were NOT fresh. I took them to the staff membet who working on the terrace Behind the bar and she just laughed and then laughed again with her colleague. The shrimp tasted ok. I would not recommend this place. Beer was also flat. Bad experience and rude staff

Good food/drinks with a cemetery view!

By TimP1972 |

Located directly across the street from Oakland Cemetery, Six Feet Under is a nice place to have lunch or dinner with your family and friends. The rooftop deck offers a great alternative place to dine or have drinks. The only caution is that it's pretty noisy when it's busy so conversation with a group is challenging.

Early dinner

By flea770 |

If you can grab a spot on roof overlooking cemetery. Parking is tight so be prepared to drive till you find a spot. Food is pretty good not huge portion pricing is normal for Atlanta area. Kinda young millennial crowd if your into that. Very few boomers. Probably not return. just not impressed but was crowded.

Still Hungry

By 477bridgettee |

We ordered the buffalo oysters and the buffalo shrimp appetizer. Both were really good but portions really small even for an appetizer. I received 5 tiny oysters and my husband had 6 shrimp. I ordered the seafood combo and for the price, I expected more. There was little to no seafood, just lots of chips☹️ Won’t ever eat here again.

Father's Day Nightmare

By abound2013 |

The hostess was GREAT, we were able to get a table fairly quickly. After being seated we were greeted with poor customer service, over salted and cold food. This place came highly recommend but we won't be traveling back here. The view from above was delightful! Too bad the service was wretched.

Good food - local hangout

By ScottOnRiver |

We had a family birthday celebration here and were seated immediately (get there before 6pm). Our server was friendly and took good care of us. Everyone seemed pleased with their entree. I had the ahi tuna and it was very tasty but a bit dry. Portions were large and no one left hungry. Suggestion...after eating, head across the street and walk through the beautiful Oakland Cemetery! You'll see great views of Atlanta and enjoy the very lush, well-maintained grounds.

Great food, great service, great prices

By kimblackwood |

I love this place! Food is outstanding, and the service is wonderful. They have the biggest crab legs I have ever eaten, and the prices are great!

Great place! Good eats

By Doug H |

My wife found this place on a food tour while I was in a conference. Had a few hours to kill before the airport so we had lunch. Crab cakes are great, grits the best and a good spinach salad I would recommend this place

Yummy!

By marcir429 |

Love this place. We don't go as often as I'd like. The parking there is not great, but the food is good. Been going there for years.

Father's Day 1st Time Visit

By s s |

We called ahead and were placed in line so upon arrival we were seated rather quickly. The atmosphere was great and the food was DELICIOUS!! We ordered various dishes and all were great but the blackened catfish, the salmon and the crab cakes stood out. The server did forgot to put our appetizer order in but he apologized and adjusted the bill. Other than that minor hiccup, our visit was great and before we left they came over to make sure our visit was great before we left. This place is a treat that we will revisit!

Fun little spot

By Tami C |

If you are going for regular food, you will like it. If you are going for fresh seafood, you will be disappointed. Remember, Atlanta is not on the coast. However, I had the shrimp, calamari and fish tacos and they were great. Also, it's in a cool area to explore and the drinks were good.

To be enjoyed by those still above ground!

By bksld |

Six Feet Under is a great place for seafood, sports watching, bar and rooftop socializing. Named aptly because it is across the street from Atlanta's most famous cemetery, Oakland Cemetery (which is an experience to walk), this popular spot has great food and ambiance. I usually order the fried shrimp basket with a couple of sides. In all the years I have dined there I have never had a bad experience with either the food or the service.

Great selection of menu options to satisfy various appetites. This was a late night meeting with friends and family for dinner. Service was excellent and everyone enjoyed their food.

Cool Name and Good Food!

By Angela5151 |

You would probably never think of a restaurant next to a historical cemetery being a great place to eat but it is. Have made my second visit and all of the seafood choices have been really good. Enjoy an appetizer. Many good choices. The tarter sauce with jalapenos is off the charts. The dill sauce is the best I have ever had. Hushpups are good. Had the shrimp and scallops in parchment and it was excellent. Finally had a dessert - bread pudding - and we could not leave one bite.

Great seafood. Lots of variety

By timatlga |

I'm local. This is a go to place for locals. Atlanta isn't great for seafood, but this place does a great job. It does get busy so if you go at peak times , expect a wait. They have a great bar and an outdoor patio overlooking Oakland Cemetery (hence Six Feet Under). Great fish and chips and baskets. Good entrees. Good bar and beer selection

Sneaky receipt math

By Daisy D |

My friend had a good dinner, but the receipt has the following wording: "A 20% service charge is automatically included for all checks $100 and over". Fine. Dinner wasn't that much, so I left a tip based on the total. But then, when I looked at it later, I noticed that there was also a service charge of 20% added. Should have caught that, but wasn't looking for it because of the message at the bottom of the receipt. This is pretty underhanded and I don't care for it. Double-check your receipts at this place, everyone.

Excellent menu options and superb beer offerings

By Brian S |

This place never disappoints. Ate here before SEC Championship game. I like it that they have seafood options, but tacos and burgers also. It's all good. The buffalo oyster app is especially good. The combo tacos are hard to beat. They also always have Tropicalia on draft. Definite winner here.

Always fun

By Kathryn R |

Sat on the top patio on a beautiful day. Great, friendly service and yummy food. LOVE the fried okra!

Fried Catfish fingers and fried Okra with Cucumber Wasabi dipping sauce!!!

By Danielle S |

We came here as part of the Atlanta Food Tour (highly recommend!) and only got to eat the fried catfish fingers and the fried Okra and Shrimp and grits. We were there on Saturday so there was a bloody Mary station that looked VERY appealing.. but it would have to wait till my next visit to Atlanta. For sure though, that cucumber wasabi dipping sauce was out of this world...

Great casual dining

By Brunchgirlz |

Wednesday night birthday celebration and it was fabulous! We started with drinks at the friendly bar. When the entire party arrived we were seated, and “Ana our server began to give the best dining experience ! Food was delicious. It’s been a few years since I’ve been here, but on my favorite list now❣️

Great salmon sliders!

By Nobi |

This place is super cool. I personally didnt love the fact that it was super crowded, but it was a Friday and in the city, so it was kind of a given it would be. However, Ray our waiter was super cool and very helpfull. Great view and the salmon sliders where delish.

Now I need to try to find okra at home...

By Erin K |

We stopped by as part of Atlanta Food Walks tour, and while we didn't get to check our the full menu, I'm super happy with what we had. We ate the grits (with asparagus, shrimp and cheese I think) which were awesome, and the catfish fingers with fried okra which I loveddddd. The sauces that came with the catfish and okra were super tasty as well. All in all it was great! Looking forwards to coming back and trying more. I really liked the atmosphere and decor, the location is rad, and all the staff were friendly. Solid place!

Over crowed. long wait poor service

By Brad D |

Saturday evening around 5:30 PM . Host gave a hour and 30 minute wait time for a table. has I not been captive of the group I would have left. The decor is very interesting. Bar tenders or good. Wait staff was just bad. Ordered a vodka on the rocks and a draft beer on the upstairs deck took 45 minutes. When the appetizer finally arrived cold, server did not bring utensils. That took an additional 5 minutes to receive a fork and and napkin. Food was just ok in my opinion. Not worth the wait or the price for that matter. If you do try this place forget Saturday evening.

Seafood & Southern Treats in Atlanta!

By trippweave |

Across from a cemetary this restaurants name drew us in, but it helped that the menu looked delicious. Have the blackened catfish & the full fried okra & the hushpuppies. Everything was delicious. A very satisfying meal, and I would go back again.

Good Times

By suz |

A fun upbeat dining spot with family or friends. Tasty items on an ample menu and drinks, if wanted. Always crowded, shows how it is still a favorite restaurant. Good service and delicious meal make this a place to return to when nearby.

Delicious food, fantastic rooftop

By 63Kathyd |

Had a fantastic dinner of the recommended tacos, friend had the shrimp and scallops. Both meals were delicious. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. She didn’t rush us then recommended the roof top bar. Bartender was very nice and the bar area is amazing. Great views to the area. Would go back anytime.

Wonderful lunch

By Doug T |

When visiting family in Atlanta, this is our go to spot. Great seafood and burgers. Service is outstanding. Wife and I shared the fried catfish, tilapia and oyster combo with onion rings. Light batter and almost too much to eat. Margarita was also very good. Can't wait to go back in November.

Overpriced bar food

By MidwestGal_9 |

We were here an a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was busy but not overly crowded and we were seated inside immediately. The $9.50 spinach salad was a bit wilted but at least the portion size was small. The waitress gave me a plastic fork wrapped in a paper napkin. Noticing that all the other tables seemed to have real silverware I asked for a metal fork. She was clearly irritated and said they were out of clean silverware, but a few minutes later did return with a metal fork she found “ on the other side.” My husband’s $14.50 cod sandwich was small but at least he didn’t need silverware to eat it. The best part was this place’s location across from the beautifully landscaped Oakland Cemetery.

Great lunch

By irishrover40 |

Visiting Atlanta and a local recommended Six Feet Under, saying that he'd never had a bad meal there. I can see why that is the case. We had fish taco's ( phenomenal ), Salmon and a chicken salad that got rave reviews. Great service - nice, knowledgeable and efficient. Liked the ambiance - casual but cool. Now I need an excuse to get back to Atlanta.

Good Food & Atmoshere

By Mem S |

I was in ATL for business and a family member recommended this place. It was during the week so there was a moderate crowd. The food was pretty good as was the service. Loved the rooftop dining. It has a great view.

The chowder was amazing I loved every drop, we also had the catfish fries and fried okra which was good as well. The atmosphere was fun and our waitress was super nice. My favorite part was that we could see the Oakland cemetery across the street.

Less broth, more seafood

By Jorg |

On 06/09/19, I had the Seafood "Stew". The menu should actually read, Seafood Soup. The bowl was large, the generous portion of broth was tasty, but it didn't qualify as Stew. Below the broth, there were a few mussels, several shrimp, two scallops, and a couple of tiny pieces of fish. This was my second try with the Seafood Stew and the amount of actual seafood was again disappointing. Maybe list it as Seafood Soup and serve it with a full loaf of bread to absorb all of the broth.

AMAZING FOOD!

I live 40 minutes away from this establishment, but I don't mind. The food is AMAZING! The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu. I love the crab broil... it's one of my favorite menu items. These crab legs are BETTER than the ones they serve at, Juicy Crab! #handsdown the conch fritters are thick and meaty.... just the way I like it. Continue to serve AMAZING food!!!

Great local place

Always enjoy our visits to Six Feet Under. The food is delicious. They have a great variety of adult beverages, including unique wines, classic cocktails and wide variety of beers. Unique charm inside and out, setting across the street from Atlanta’s historic Oakland Cemetery. Today we enjoyed mussels steamed in bloody mary broth, a lobster roll, crab cake sliders and signature grits. Family friendly to boot!

First time to be disappointed with Six Feet Under.

It almost kills me to write this review about a place I have always made a point to visit every time I come to Atlanta but tonight’s visit was not good at all. Maybe they were short handed due to the pandemic but for whatever reason our service lacked a lot. First off, one of the ladies with me ordered Fried Green Tomatoes for an appetizer. Appetizers are meant to come out early and eaten BEFORE the main meal. Our waiter came by and said the food was almost out and I asked what about her appetizer to which the waiter replied ‘all of the food is coming out together.’. That’s not how it works. But ok. It also took forever to get a glass of wine. The waiter comes out with our food but is missing one bowl of shrimp & grits. After several minutes passed a waitress comes out with the missing bowl. When asked why hers didn’t come out with the others the waitress had the nerve to reply ‘CALM DOWN!’. EXCUSE ME?? Ma’am, you never tell a customer to calm down! Our server was running and looked like he was trying to handle all of the tables so I’ll give him a little break but when he brought out the bills and was told to take off the fried green tomatoes that came out after the main entree because they didn’t get eaten he said he would have to get it ok’d with the manager. Um no sir it you want a tip you’d better remove that appetizer that came out after the meal. And speaking of tips, I could not believe they force you to pay a 20% tip if your ticket is over $50!! I’ve seen where if your party is over 6 people but never the amount of the bill. And if you don’t look close and notice they did that they leave a place for another tip on your ticket so you may leave an additional tip. These issues along with the repetitive song playing for over 15 minutes with the same beat as ‘another one bites the dust’ put a huge damper on this trip and I doubt I’ll make an effort to return to Six Feet Under next trip. Pretty sad considering we posted on social media at the start praising it.

Cool Bar overlooking Oakland Cemetary

Great atmosphere. Funky drink list. Fun roof top patio. It’s near a bunch of cool bars so it’s a good spot for bar hopping. Key lime pie was amazing.

Good food and fun vibe!

Great service, food and atmosphere! SFU never disappoints. Perfect for dinner and cocktails before Oakland Cemetary Ghost Tour. Well actually it's good anytime.

Maximum atmosphere

Food choices and quality are great. You can imagine playful atmospher when they name the restaurant after the cemetery next door. Nothing demonic present just a lot of fun. The other patrons are very social and easy to approach. Be sure to call ahead.

Fun and Fish

Six Feet Under is across the street from Oakland Cemetery, an Atlanta tourist attraction that is worth a visit. As its name implies, the restaurant is a fun place with a variety of good food and beverage. The service is attentive and responsive. The only drawback is in that area parking can be a pain.

Oakland Cemetery

Since this restaurant is located right across the street from Oakland Cemetery we always make time for lunch or dinner. We have always found the food good and the service excellent!

Slipping and Sliding away

The gumbo was awful. Tasted like gravy and onions. Some one cannot make a rue. Absolutely no flavor except for the andouille sausage. The spinach salad was good. the house salad had old lettuce. The appetizer was over cook, Calamari. Too much competition in the area not to step up your game.

A Very Good Place for Seafood in Atlanta

Forget Six Feet Under on 11th Street. This is the original and still the best. Try the Baked Parmesan Oysters for an appetizer. They are delicious. We went on a Sunday afternoon and could have had the Bloody Mary Bar. But, really, that stuff sits out all day. Have a custom cocktail, beer, or other drink. I had the "Big Tuna." It was delicious as usual. This is a rare tuna steak with spinach and deep-fried jalapenos. It was great!

We keep coming back

By Mike S |

I've been coming here for at least 15 years, mainly for special occasions with my office, but also as a place to take visitors from out of town, especially after walking through Oakland Cemetery across the street. Our most recent visit was of that sort. It has great atmosphere, a hometown pub kind of vibe, heightened by the great selection of craft beers available. Rooftop dining is available and suitable in all but the coldest weather. The food choices are unique, with an emphasis on seafood: fish, shellfish, and related items. Our four entrees constituted a good representation of the breadth of the menu, and everything was good: shrimp po' boy, catfish tacos (a must-try speciality), seafood quesadilla (although my wife reported there wasn't enough of a seafood taste), and the veggie platter (spinach salad, zucchini fries, and jalapeno hush puppies--all great). All of the sandwiches come with homemade potato chips. The portions are generous and the prices reasonable. The place is usually busy but the service is usually good, considering--they're used to dealing with large parties and the servers always seem knowledgeable and experienced. We will keep coming back, with or without out-of-town guests.

Not Film Friendly

By Jes M |

Eaten here in the past because the restaurant has been accommodating for calling in orders for tv/film crews and holding tables. Called today, and was informed that this would no longer be the case. Manager on duty had no real reason for why they would no longer be able to accommodate and hold a table for a small crew of 13. The restaurant is not film friendly.

Great Food. Perfect Location. Good Service!

What a great black n blue burger! James, you have a great restaurant. So glad you invited us! We left our business card with Hector! He was wonderful too. Can’t wait to come back!

Had a great time!

I had a great time at Six Feet Under. The food got to our table rather quickly, and the service was great. Overall, I had a great time and would go back.
