**Careless Service Ruined the Experience** I was really looking forward to trying this Spanish restaurant, but the service was incredibly disappointing. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the staff wasn’t paying attention. We waited far too long to be seated, despite having a reservation, and when we finally got a table, no one came to take our order for ages. Once we managed to order, things only got worse. The staff seemed disorganized and inattentive. We had to flag down the server multiple times just to get basic things like water and utensils, and when our food finally arrived, it was cold. To top it off, they brought out the wrong dishes, and instead of apologizing, the waiter seemed annoyed that we pointed it out. The overall lack of care from the staff made the meal stressful and unenjoyable. Even if the food had been good, which it wasn’t, the service alone would be enough to keep me from coming back. I expected much more for the price and atmosphere they try to present. Would not recommend if you're looking for attentive or professional service.

Very authentic. We had croquetas , octopus , paella valenciana and torrija. The croquetas were delicious. Octopus was great. The right amount of real smoked pimiento español with very delicates sliced potatoes and exquisite olive oil. Paella has been the best one I have had in a restaurant in Dallas. I was very surprised with their wine selection. They have albariño and garnachas. The staff is really friendly. One thing I was not aware if that there is not parking on premise. You need to valet parking or find a spot in the streets . However, that is big problem from Bishop Arts District, which has overgrown in the past years , which make it a nightmare because there is lack of public parking locations .

We saw an article in D magazine and decided to try Sketches of Spain for their Paella. We had 2 appetizers, the roasted eggplant and seared prawns. We chose the seafood paella to share. The red sangria was very very good, lots of flavor and fruit! We were not disappointed and can’t wait to go back to try the Iberico ham and one of the yummy looking desserts.

If you are a fan of Spanish food like I am, then I advise you to not go here. This place had multiple issues, in my opinion. The first was that it is not accommodating at all. They do not deviate from their menu and denied a few special requests we had (incidentally one was just for a side of rice). The second is the food itself. We shared multiple tapas, and 1 was pretty good and the rest were bland at best. We got there at noon (when the place opened) and we ordered the eggplant dish. It came out and was extremely cold. It was obviously in the refrigerator for a long time. There's nothing more than this to advertise, "Hey, this stuff was made a while ago and had been sitting in the fridge at least overnight." We ordered the Farm Paella, which had no crust and no flavor. My friends and I didn't even taste salt and pepper - and there was certainly no saffron in it. The veggies were previously frozen veggies (as they were really mushy), and there was about a cup of cooked rice. This was a single serving that was priced at $20. I can go on about a few other dishes, but I think what I said was enough already. I hope they make some improvements to their kitchen, as well as be a bit more accommodating to their guests, and this might be a good place to visit. When we came to the place at a bit past noon on a Saturday in Oak Cliff, the place was practically empty. That should've been the first hint. Again, I hope management makes some improvements, because I love Spanish food and would love to have an acceptable Spanish restaurant to visit.

Excellent option if you like something similar to Spanish food. The best I've ever tasted in Dallas. So Far. There are Few and Good Things

Okay, overall it's a place you'd like to spend some time at, well decorated and kinda cozy. They have a decent bar and good music going on. Problem is, the Paellas don't really taste authentic. Not at all. In case you've ever had any of the real Spanish variations, especially the Valencian classic dish, you know what I'm talking about. Their version is way too poor to be a fine representation of the true Paellas. Another issue was the red wine, a single bottle of "La nit de les garnatxes - Clay" for $68 bucks is really pricey. The croquettes are good, though. Honestly, wouldn't get back after this disappointing experience.
Awesome, authentic paella
Awesome, authentic paella and Spanish tapas. The seafood paella is so good and we’ve ordered it both times we were there. The croquette and shrimp appetizers are so tasty! For dessert we had the Chocolate Textures and it was perfect layers of different chocolates. We brought home the Spanish cheesecake. You won’t be disappointed and David or Lily will take good care of you and explain all the dishes. They truly aim to please!!!
