When one kitchen closes, Sky Sushi saves the night!

By CarltonBespoke |

I had late layover in Philly and the other restaurants in Terminal C were closing their kitchens, so I ended up at Sky. Wow!! I am glad I did, because not only was the food great, the bartender Bianca was awesome and incredibly beautiful. It was a great way to spend a layover and I recommend this spot to anyone who loves sushi and a relaxed environment.

Who knew sushi could be so good at an airport?

By Mary M |

So enjoyed my sushi while killing time on a 2 hour layover. I loved the décor, very relaxing. I enjoyed the music, too. Very upbeat and helps lift you up after a long boring train ride. A very nice surprise, indeed!

A Great Lunch

By GPaCalgary |

We really enjoyed our lunch here. Vietnamese spring rolls, Sichan fries, and a much more health6 chicken and vegetable lettuce wraps. All were delicious, and the service was terrific. Great tastes and no complaints. Hard to beat.

Slow, wrong order, not good

By RCHSTZ |

OK, so an airport place just needs to be fast, accurate and halfway decent tasting. This place failed on all counts. There was one person in front of me at the register perusing the menu. The counter man did not try to take my order or ask him to step aside to read. In the end, the person wanted to sit down inside and was advised they could go in. That was about 5 minutes. Then, I order Ramen. The counter man asks if I want the seafood spicy ramen and I say no, the other ramen. There are two ramens on the menu. He is unfamiliar with the second one so needs to retrieve a menu to read about it. He finds it. Puts in the order to go. There are no to go orders before mine. Then another customer comes and orders the spicy seafood ramen. Ten minutes pass. Her order comes out. Two minutes later mine. He says nothing so I inquire. It is my order he says. Gives me the bag, which has no napkins. I find a place to eat and it is seafood. In sum, they did nothing right. Oh, and it was greasy and didn't taste very good. And $13.

Very good breakfast

By Laura L |

Who would have thought that fried rice and wonton soup were for breakfast, Sky Asian Bistro did and they were right. Yum. My wonton soup was lovely and light, perfect for breakfast. My husband had an omelet and fried rice- I had a few spoonfulls and it took quite a bit of self control not to eat more.

Awful.

By Iloveangela35 |

Sushi is soft, poor grade. Shrimp rolls all fell apart, mo flavor. I should have known better.

Awesome Shrimp Pad Thai

By David B |

Super delicious and made fresh! Eat in every time I have an opportunity! Not five stars because I feel it's a little on the pricey side.

Ok food.

By Jay N |

Quality has come down a lot I’m the last 10 years. Ordered veg fried rice. Not much vegetables. Asked for spicy. The short order cook made it unbelievably hot. No concept! For captive customers at PHL not much choice for vegans or vegetarians

What a great surprise for airport dining!

By Kls88 |

We had a several delays due to the weather. We decided to have dinner at The Asian Bistro. I just want to start by saying how friendly and accommodating the hostess and server were. Both were very attentive. The place was very clean which was a huge plus for a restaurant in an airport. The sushi was very good and fresh. The pad Thai noodles were awesome as well. Not that we get stuck in Philadelphia airport much but if it happens again I will definitely eat there again. Highly suggest. Oh, and the steak philly dumplings.....great also!

Excellent airport 'getaway' with ONE feature ALL airport restaurants should have.

By usblueflyer |

Decor is super-cool, clean and fashionable. Although located in busy terminal C, one barely notices any noise or usual airport confusion. Patrons seat themselves and I observed no one being overlooked. Plenty of waitstaff to quickly see to everyone. Extensive beverage menu. Only a few types of sake and plum wine. Prices won't break the bank like other airport eateries will. Very nice music plays just loud enough to help drown out outside sounds, but not so loud that you can't hear yourself think! The tables are situated pretty close together, but I enjoyed that particular as it reminded me of what I experienced in Japan. There is also a nice sushi bar, where a patron can watch the dishes being created. I enjoyed sashimi - consisting of yellow tail, tuna, octopus and scallops. The scallops were particularly delicious. As I've dome to expect from Japanese food - it was beautifully presented. NOW for the feature that I found so exciting: ALL the servers at Sky give their best estimate at wait time. They take into account that they are in a building that revolves around (sometimes rigid) time schedules. If a person knows they can't wait, they aren't delayed without information. I will DEFINITELY be going back to Sky Asian Bistro. (sorry - no pix as my phone was dead)

HORRIBLE

By Nom Nommy |

I stopped in here for breakfast due to a flight delay. I waited 10 minutes before I was acknowledged— once the order taker was finished playing on her phone, she took my order. I ordered bacon, egg, cheese on a bagel. The bagel was harder than the counter; eggs were hammered. I guess the one circle is for the cheese. The “home fries” were greasy (see pics). I took one bit & was done— super gross; sent the plate back. I didn’t bother with anything else or ask for a discount. A patron that sat next to me canceled their order & left after seeing my plate. My mimosa was the only thing good. Wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

Great service, poor food

By John S |

Grabbed some food before a flight out of PHL. Service was great, very fast, which is what you want in an airport location. Sadly, the food was not that good. The spring rolls were cold in the middle and the sushi was way below expectations.

Best Airport Food I Ever Had

By Richard F |

Normally I don't eat at the airport but we were early for a flight. Stopped for a drink and dinner at Sky Asian Bistro and it was great. I had the Filet Stir Fry and my wife had Shrimp Stir Fry....both were outstanding. Best airport food I ever had!

Only Asian style restaurant at the airport

By hahnyc1234 |

I tried noodles like Ramen, wanton soup noodles today and a month before. I also tried some sashimi plates. I found nothing delicious or fresh. Soup for wanton was not flavorfull at all. I am ok to come here as this restautant is the only restaurant that offers noodle soup in the airport. But if there is a better one, I would change to others.

We were impressed!

By Kevin P |

We had plenty of time between flights, so went in for a late sit down lunch. The sushi was good; however, the chicken pad Thai was incredible. Best flavor we have experienced in years! Our waitress, Stephanie, was prompt, friendly, and attentive. Wish we lived nearby so we could enjoy again.

Best Airport food we have every had!

By Paulita Maine |

My husband and I were so surprised to find this restaurant on our trip home from Florida to Maine on 12-17-2019, Concourse C. Very efficient service, we had no trouble enjoying our delicious meal 1/2 hour before our plane boarded. Relaxed atmosphere and wonderful selection of food. Great wines by the glass in various sizes. The German Riesling was perfect! Thank you Sky Bistro for making our day! I may have left my prescription sunglasses there, will have to call!!

Surprise but good breakfast and sushi in an airport

By Travelerjj_12 |

I was scared to try a sushi place in an airport but I can tell you both breakfast and their sushi is way better then I expected. This is my goto place these days and worth a try.

Not Bad for Airport

By MBruck |

I ate hear on the run in Philly & was surprised. Better than most at the airport. Service was fast and friendly& food was pretty good - all considered.

Restaurant

By Frank McDonnell |

Extremely expensive , . Thus 50$ for a large beer ,and Chardonnay ( 9 oz) which should cover labor costs but there was a 20% tip added , Avoid unless on expense account .

great food, a healthy option

By Lizziepics |

What a nice difference from your run of the mill food offerings at airports. Really loved the rib eye.

Best airport meal ever!

By philguk |

I've been using PHL as my gateway to the USA for almost 10 years and, if I have the time, I always eat at the Sky Asian Bistro The food is always great, as is the service I've had the occasional LONG layover and always tell them to move me if they needed my table - they never have. In fact they're usually surprised I even ask Unfortunately now that US Airways are part of OneWorld, I will be transiting PHL no more (I am a Lufthansa Senator, so keep strictly to the Star Alliance) I'm REALLY going to miss the Sky Asian Bistro :(

The only place to relax before your flight

By Tanya B |

The bites are just that, perfectly sized portions to balance out the prosecco. Plenty of tv's to watch the game and the music they play is perfect.

Good lox and cream cheese bagel

By MeraKi25 |

My breakfast of lox and cream cheese on a bagel was good. But, I agree with another reviewer about the delay. I sat at the bar, and until a server came over, it was also a good 10mins. Coffee tasted like vinegar and grounds.

One of the few sit down restaurants between Gates B and C

By sonorous03 |

We chose this restaurant because it was one of the few sit down restaurants during a long layover in Philadelphia. The decor is very nice. The food was average at best. I have had much better sushi and Pad Thai. The tuna in the sushi was subpar. I would have chosen one of the other restaurants had I read the reviews first.

Best food in Philadelphia Airport

By Foodie Explorer |

I travel extensively and Philadelphia airport is my 'home' airport. It is difficult to find good food in any airport, but I always recommend Sky Asian Bistro. The Yoki Soba and Pad Thai dishes with seafood are excellent. In fact I compare all others to their pad thai. Vietnamese spring rolls, dumplings all very good. I've only had a sushi roll on occasion so cannot really comment. Excellent selection of Asian beer. Fast and VERY friendly service which is greatly appreciated in an airport. Yes the prices are high but it is an airport. Everything is more expensive.

OK lunch for the airport

By KaneoheBoy |

Lunch here today. There is not a large vegetarian selection but I had the edamame and their steamed veggie dumplings. Edamame were super hot and fresh. Dumplings were rather rubbery and not a ton of flavor. The sauce saved it. So a decent option if you are marooned on concourse C.

The Best!

By Kevin P |

My wife and I have eaten Pad Thai at restaurants throughout the United States and this is definitely the BEST tasting we have ever had. Combine this with the great service and it ranks a 5 star in our book!

No Better Way to Wait for Your Flight

By osborner |

Attentive bartender, good sushi and plenty of entertainment walking by on their way to their destinations. If you like a good cocktail request a double.

Solid for the airport

By john m |

I had a specialty roll, can't remember which one but $18 and solid quality if you typically eat special rolls. I also had chicken satay and it was a 5. Service was good, chairs at the bar were horrible, very uncomfortable and 2 guys who sat down after me were howling about it. I would return and not sit at the bar.

Overpriced sushi

By TheChoclateFactory |

We were there twice! On our way to LA and back. Only the second time we realized that it was kind a overpriced. Ok, it was nice sashimi, but the portions were so little, that we weren't sure if we were still in the US....

Depends on who is cooking.

By bpalme |

I get the Chicken Pad Thai and it varies in quality sometimes. Last time I got very little chicken and over all very dry. I have had t and it was very good. So its a gamble. It takes forever sometime for them to make it. 35 minutes. I have had it come quick though.

For an airport restaurant...

By Slowhand54 |

Sky Asian Bistro is a definite stop when passing through PHL, terminal C. The sushi is fresh and well-presented, the wine list pretty good (for airport offerings).

Airport Prices

By WA2world |

Sky Asian is mostly a sushi restaurant, but offers a few other Asian dishes. For breakfast they are limited a bit. They did offer a bagel, smoked salmon and cream cheese dish; certainly not Asian but satisfactory. It was fresh and plenty and sold at airport prices. No complaints on the food I had; only the inflated prices.

Solid sushi in the airport

By bfchef |

It's risky eating sushi in an airport but this was good. Friendly service, good menu and nice beer and wine choices. Overpriced but so is everything else in an airport.

Good Asian food

By K T |

Sky Asian Bistro is my “go to” restaurant at PHL airport. It’s in terminal C, and they serve Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese, and Japanese dishes ( maybe more, but I recognize least those). My favorites are miso soup and calamari salad. I tried other dishes also, and they were all good. It’s just some dishes were big and I wasn’t able to finish. Service was a typical airport restaurant affair. Quick and food comes quick also. Perfect for meals before catching the flights.

Good food at PHL.

By Noraha3 |

The chicken satay was delicious and the service was very good with a friendly waitress. I was in a hurry and very hungry and the food was delivered quickly.

Bad food, even for the airport

By Julian K |

Here is the chronology of the meal I had while waiting for my flight this evening. Warm, watered-down martini Cold edamame Limp shrimp in the stir-fry, which also had a sauce with weird spices (at least, I hope that's all it was) Nice music, but too loud Good service

Great appetizers and dishes!!

By amezcua67 |

After having been in Italy for two weeks, we arrived at the Philadelphia International Airport and we were wishing for something not Italian ;). We were so happy to have found Sky Asian Bistro, we had cosmos which were incredible, a little pricey ($15) but we were wishing for a good cosmo. Then we ordered three appetizers which were incredible and the pad thai dish we split. I guess we were hungry and wishing for a good non-Italian dish, and this hit the spot perfectly. Wish we fly to Philadelphia again and end up eating at Sky Asian Bistro, totally worth it based on our experience.

A REAL GEM RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PHILADELPHIA AIRPORT

By Leonard S |

If you cringe at the thought of trying to find a good meal in an airport other than all the fast food joints and chain joints, you can think again at the Philidelphia Airport. In the Americal Airlines terminal is Sky Asian Bistro with some really incredible sushi. This is not a 'mall' Asian restaurant, but an authentic sushin restaurant. The prices are high, but the food is really some of the best of its kind I have had. So if you want a really awesome dining experience at Philadelphia Airport this is the restaurant to visit.

Service is important

By Joseph O |

Rude and inpersonal service. The food was ok bit the service will cause me to go elsewhere next time.

Great Sushi As Far As Airport Sushi Goes

By cektopxl |

Although at first it may seem that the sushi that you are eating may not even be close to the best best sushi you've ever had. Quite the opposite, this sushi may seem border line OK. The important thing to keep in mind is that you are having sushi in the middle of an airport. That's right, when you are in between a flight, waiting for your transfer flight in Philadelphia, this is the best sushi you are going to have, and as fine as borderline fine dinning goes, this is probably as good as it's going to get. During my visit to this fine airport establishment, I had a salmon roll, a bowl of friend rice, and some white wine. The salmon was fresh, even through the roll was not evenly cut. The rice was well prepared and the portion was large. The wine was your regular white house wine. Nothing fancy. The place was a bit overpriced for it's offering, but then again, keep in mind that you are in the middle of an airport. The service was great though.

Sit down dining and take out as well

By ct-cruisers |

This is a nice spot in terminal C with seating as well as premise takeout options if you are in a hurry. If I have the time, I sit down at the sushi bar. Friendly service.

Horrible! Disrespectful and Unapologetic...eat at your own risk!

By anaidni |

I stop at this place each time I'm traveling back to Indianapolis. It's in the C terminal. The service is horrible but I never expected what I got today. I just had a waitress slam her palms down on my table when I asked her if she would clean it off. She wasn't concern about that at all - she kept pushing me to order. When she returned 8 minutes later, I expected her to replace the napkins as well. Instead she picked the napkins up, wiped underneath them, and then put them back on the table. So I asked her if I could get some clean napkins. Hatefully, she said they are clean and when I didn't respond, she slammed her palms down, pulled them up, and said o.k. - now tell me what do you want. Since this was not going well, I asked for another waittress. As the angry one walked off, she shouted back, I don't want to wait on you, you are ignorant. so I'm in shock and the people surrounding me all gasped. One girl said, I'm confused. The guy just got up. She barely wiped the table off and put his same dirty napkins down and got mad. When she came back to bring them their check, she threw it on the table. They dropped their head. When I saw her, I asked her to ask her manager to come to my table. She said my manager can wait on you, I'm not. Her manager did not greet me, ask if there was something wrong or anything. Instead in a similar hateful manner, she said you wanted a new waitress, are you ready to order. I said, I did and ask her if she was interested in why I asked her to come over to my table. She said her waittress said that I wanted a new waittress. I proceeded to tell her the whole story. She still didn't apologize. Then I realize that I was being stupid for sitting here. So I let her know my disappointment in her nonapology and left.

Food Delish but my drink.... not so much

By SangreGitana |

My husband and I shared the Philly cheesesteak dumplings and even though they were a bit cliche.... they were AMAZING. I had a firecracker roll and was not disappointed!!! So fresh and delicious!! My husband had a noodle dish that I can't remember but it was also very satisfying. I ordered the apple cider margarita and was a little disappointed at the lack of apple cider taste... but the food made up for it!!!

WOW

By Moondanced |

Pleasantly surprised by the food and selection at this airport restaurant! Wonderful, fresh food and fast!

Great breakfast stop

By Julie G |

I stopped in for breakfast after my plane had been laid over because of snow. I had the eggs benedict. It was delicious. The Hollandaise sauce was great. The potatoes were nice and crispy, soft on the inside. I heartily recommend this place. Not what I expected for an Asian place but the breakfast is really good. Service was great.

Beyond Gross

By Snooge13 |

I ordered a simple vegetarian Lo Mein... Not only was it greasy and undercooked but there were rotting snow peas and half a broken spoon (definitely not mine) in my food. If I had not waited to eat my food until I was on the plane the company would have definitely heard from me... ironically been trying to contact them all day via phone and no one seems to be picking up!

Great Sushi

By Scarlett T |

Ate here on a layover and was glad I did. I got a sushi roll and it was great. Certainly one of the better restaurants in PHL so if your near here and like Sushi, it as good place to stop. Only complaint is that it’s a tight fit in some areas to get to tables with luggage.

Good food great service but a little overpriced

By denisechandler |

My daughter loves Japanese anything so while waiting for a flight we ate here. The food was delicious, at least that was what I thought. My daughter who has traveled to Japan said it was okay. I though the small plates were small. The entrées were of fair size. The wine was expensive. Okay I was at an airport. The waitress was very friendly. The atmosphere was perfect to just sit back and relax while waiting for a flight. There to put it In a nutshell, good place to eat when not in a hurry waiting for a flight but expect a significant bill.

Better than average for airport

By Ranger25 |

Better than average for airport for sure. Sushi’s are fresh and tasty service is fast. Although definitely expect above average prices for your entire meal aveprices for airairport prices for all parts of your meal

May be the best asian food at the airport

By Dean A |

Good sushi, good bar. One of the few sit-down restaurants in this terminal. Food is very flavorful, service was friendly and quick. There are 2 sides with the bar in the middle and the smaller side seems to get overlooked and may have open tables if the other side does not. Decent selection of sake

Dang good sushi!

By Danainfranklin |

What a treat in the middle of the airport. My firecracker roll was crazy fresh and tasted great. Really good miso soup. Fast service and fairly priced.

Surprisingly Good

By Depplep |

We didn't have much time in between an International flight and after flying all day through turbulence we just wanted to relax with decent food and a drink. I advised the bar tender that we only had 30min and she assured me the service would be quick. It was very quick. We had time for a few glasses of very good wine and an unusual for an Asian restaurant appetizer of Philly Cheese steak dumplings. These were friendly with the cheese lightly squirted overtop and the thinly slices ribeye inside. Very good and a treat while in Philadelphia. Excellent service. Wish we had time for a bigger meal as the couple next to use got a rice bowl and sushi that looked to feed more like 4 people instead of two. Would return again if at PHL.

Pre-flight brunch and drinks

By McTraveler917 |

Normally, we visit Chickie's and Pete's before our flights but this time we decided to stop in to Sky - and we're so glad we did. This will be our new place for pre-flight meals/drinks. My husband ordered the breakfast sandwich and I had the breakfast fried rice - YUM! Definitely order that - it was really filling and flavorful. The service and drinks were good (screwdrivers and coffee) - we'll definitely be back.

Spicy Deliciousness!

By L A F |

Long layover at PHL- needed some tasty ethnic food! I ordered seafood ramen soup- and it was wonderful! Full of seafood, egg, veggies and noodles! Service was terrific. Atmosphere soothing! Definitely need to return!

Great Spot for Lunch in Terminal C

By Lauren G |

Whenever I'm flying out of Philadelphia and have time to stop for a bite, I go here. They make a good cocktail and their speciality rolls are delicious. The bar area has plenty of power outlets to work at or charge your device before you board. I continue to go back each time I visit.

Expensive and not the greatist food

By Don G |

wine and luch 72 dollars. What a ripoff. I guess you expect this in an airport. But I've eaten in some very good places in Airports. The service was very good and the place was very clean.

A step above most airport restaurants! Quality food, attentive service.

By WhichWay? |

My first impression of the menu was that there were a wide variety of menu choices and that the prices are what you would expect in an airport for a sit down meal. They also offered several "daily" specials which would indicate to me that they have clients who eat there regularly and like to have something different from the pretty extensive menu. I had a Dragon roll and edamame along with a Saporo. The sushi was fresh and delicious, the edamame clearly prepared to order as well. The waitresses were far more attentive than is typical in an airport restaurant and service was quick allowing me to enjoy my meal in a slightly longer amount of time than I had hoped for. I definitely will eat here again when flying through Philadelphia.

A welcomed, excellent PHL airport option...

By Robert W |

What a surprise, especially for an airport venue! I enjoyed a tasty, perfectedly cooked Kobe Burger for the reasonable price of $18 (adding bacon for $2) which included hot, crispy fries and a 16 oz. can of Miller Lite for $6.60. The decor of the restaurant is first class (really) with an attractive sushi bar and an inviting table setting (placemat, fresh flowers)...lighting is perfect - not too bright - with the background music sound level at an acceptable level. A few discrete televisions were on mute with sports programming. Much natural light enhanced the experience through expansive glass windows. Yes, I forgot I was in an airport!

Great food and great service

By Regina C |

Enjoyed a great meal and great service. A nice place for a calming meal during a busy trip. Great service from Martina. A million dollar smile and a great suggestion for dinner. Look for them in Terminal C. Tell Martina hello and enjoy the company and great food and drink. All the staff are great but have a seat at the bar for the best service. I travel for work and appreciate the good experience with the good food and great service.

Comfortable calming atmosphere

By puravidaFlorida |

This was my only restaurant choice near the gate . It turned out to have good food , healthy selections and efficient service . I really enjoyed the music it was a zen new age type . The perfect ending for a vacation .

Great food at the airport.

By sasakidalem |

I loved the miso salmon and the sushi was good, but obviously overpriced being at an airport. I don't often go through Philadelphia airport as it seems I'm often delayed (yes, 2+hours this time), so I sought out Sky having dined there twice before. I was not disappointed in the food or service. I just wished they didn't have to charge twice as much for what you get elsewhere for the same amount or quality.

Great place

By poolheatersplus |

Nice place to spend some time between flights, great, very fresh & quick food. Not cheap though, but it was our last stop on the way home from a week long vacation so we splurged to carry the vacation spirit throughout the way home!

Worst shusi ever

By hervipr |

I have been eating sushi since the 1980s. I have had sushi all over the world. I eat sushi frequently. It's my favorite food. This was without a doubt the worst sushi I have ever eaten. The service wasn't very good either. Too bad because there are not very many restaurant choices at Philadelphia airport.

Average - Did not meet my expectation completely

By Giridhar B |

I had Veg fried rice during my transit. Price was okay but taste was not that great. It was too much salty. Staffs were nice.

Love the Pad Thai!

By David B |

I travel to the USA frequently and do not normally rate airport restaurants. However Sky Asian Bistro deserves mention. Have eaten here a number of times and tried most of the menu. I have never had a bad meal. However, the Pad Thai is the dish I return for. The dish really packs a punch and is full of flavour. Wish I could get it this good elsewhere. Staff are always friendly and for an airport eatery the atmosphere is good. Slightly pricy but worth it!

The best pad Thai I have ever tasted

By islandhopper68 |

I was just eating lunch here in fact it is my go to restaurant when I frequently travel through the Philly airport. They have a wide selection of Asian delights such as sushi! Which is top notch. But my favorite is their pad thai with either chicken or shrimp. The flavoring and seasoning is so good!! One of the best I have eaten. Their sushi is so fresh it rivals any downtown eatery. Don't miss this place located in the C terminal. I always look forward to eating here!

Relaxing - great food - great service

By Hunter R |

I had an hour before my flight was boarding so I stopped in here and had a California roll and a Stoli citron vodka on the rocks. The server was really friendly and we spoke of the importance of clean drink glasses. The music was really great and I will go back.

Pretty good airport fare

By bluetigers |

Considering the location, this place delivers solid food and has a good selection of sushi and noodle dishes. Waitress looked tired and seemed in a hurry to finish her shift. Food arrived quickly and was tasty.

The sky is the limit with Sky Asian Bistro

By LancasterTraveler |

My wife and I dined at the Sky Bistro recently before flying out and thoroughly enjoyed it. We shared a mixed salad with ginger that was sooo nice. I had their Sky chicken with jasmine rice and broccoli, sesame seeds that was awesome. My wife loved their Seafood Yaki with shrimp, and vegetables in a brown sauce. Ask for our waitress Chua and greeter Terrell who will give you great tips. I am pleased to recommend the Sky Asian Bistro to you. Enjoy!

Disappointing

By Mattison |

My husband and I visited Sky Asian Bistro during a four hour layover in the Philly airport. We specifically tried this restaurant over the others because it had received a rave review rating it as one of the best eateries in the airport. Looking back, that may still be true because the Philly airport is gross. Anyway, we easily found a seat in Sky Asian Bistro. We became acquainted with our lackluster server and ordered our food. The ramen soup sounded delicious. It wasn't. The soup was topped with pork that, in reality, was more like some plastic/rubber rendition of pork. I took one bite of the three pork pieces and decided I was done with that. I ate around them. The rest of the soup was OK. My husband ordered a chicken dumpling sort of dish off of the dim sum menu. They definitely had a strong fish taste and smell despite there not being any fish involved? That wasn't great. Anyway, if the service had been awesome and the food was bad, I would have been more forgiving. Everything was just yuck. We ended up going to Chickie's and Pete's and had a much better meal and overall experience. Really. Chickie's and Pete's. I wish I were joking.

theft

By mrines |

i really like the food here and i didn't mind the environment. i thought both were very good, given that it exists within the confines of an airport. HOWEVER, you'll notice that when you're at an airport it is common for a bartender to ask if you would like to 'make it a double.' for '$X more.' i never refuse this. i know that they, unlike most true-blue restaurants measure out the shots, but it's tough to pass up a double. in any case, this bar uses the double-sided shot glasses that you may have seen at nana's or just bought because you could care less, or has been handed down- whatever. what this place does is to pour the first shot from the regular, 1 oz. end and then, if you watch, you'll notice that they pour the first shot from the 1 oz. end and then, obviously rehearsed, the bartender will quickly turn their writst 180 degrees, fill up the smaller of the two ends and pour that into your mixed drink, thus constituting a 'double.' this offends me on several levels, both as a former member of the service industry and as an intelligent human being. maybe there is some argument to say that they are actually over-pouring the first shot and under-pouring the second in order ot collect a 'double' however this has not been my experience first hand, or in speaking with friends who currently bartend. for one, it's not two shots, and assuming it is, one cannot call it a 'double' if you are not doubling' one's drink. this infuriated me, but i did not have time to mention it as i was late for my flight. i figured i would write to them later on and handle it then. i did so and heard nothing back whatsoever. i'll continue to try, but in the interim, i recommend that nayone avoid this place, even given the fact that it looks very appealing from the terminal, which it does. what a waste. please feel free to e-mail with any specific questions, and i'd be happy to answer them, this is a terrible place, either by management mandate, or waitstaff collusion. mrines76@yahoo.com

Nice place

Nice place. Nice vibe and escape from the craziness of the airport. Cheesesteak dumpling much better than expected. Liked the spicy kick. Nice service. Never felt rushed. Full bar.

Best on the airport in Philly!

By WaziMom |

We had a long layover in Philly and wanted something fresh, tasty, in a clean environment and relaxing -- not what you usually get at an airport food court, in other words. This place *really* pleasantly exceeded our expectations and gave us a very pleasant hour +. Portions are large, but fresh and good; attractively served; tasty ingredients, nice spices; friendly and helpful staff. Some dishes to try: Sichuan fries (nothing really Asian about them other than the spice mix on them but -- oh, so good we demolished them despite my partner's protests he wasn't hungry!) Steamed edamame beans come with nice sea salt that makes them even tastier than usual Mongolian beef is excellent stir-fry style, very yummy if you crave meat Sushi and sashimi portions large, speedy, prepared to order, very fresh. I liked the eel/shrimp tempura futomaki ('blue' futomaki they called it) and the hamachi (yellowtail) sashimi They also have mint, jasmine, or dragon well (longjing) tea, made with proper leaves, not tea bags, which really added to the relaxation factor. Have gone through Philly multiple times over last 5+ years, this place is definitely about as good as it can get. Cannot recommend highly enough, notably given the other choices there -- everything else pales in comparison.

Airport Sushi - Who would’ve known - Very Good

By gcg3refs |

Long Layover, looking for good restaurant and found Sky Asian. The service is not the greatest, little slow to acknowledge you and get you menus, drinks, etc. However, the sushi was very good, highly recommend the "Big In Japan" roll, outstanding.

Tasty, but A/C on max

By CaliforniaFellow |

Excellent service. Decent food for an airport. But the a/c was cranked to max cold. The server told meit was the airport...out of their control. Nice change from chain food.

The Worst Place in the Universe

By elelliekovetz |

It has been 2 years since I was at the Philadelphia International Airport, and stopped at the Asian Bistro, and yet the service was so horrible and insulting that I could scream. After 2 years I am still bitter. I had a 3 hour layover between flights, so I thought I would have a glass of wine at the Asian Bistro. I sat at the bar and asked the bartender for a glass of Merlot, and all she did was place a menu in front of me and walked away. Ten minutes later when I once again asked for a glass of Merlot, she replied by saying, "I gave you a menu, Honey" Did you happen to look at the prices? Implying that this place was too expensive for a woman to have a glass of wine if she's alone or whatever?, I don't know what the hell led this bartender to assume that I had no money, but she obviously did, and it insulting as hell.. I ask everyone in their right mind to avoid this place at all costs. This place is the ultimate hole!!!!!! I've never been treated more shabbily in my life. This place is a pig sty. Stay away

Not going back

By plecostamus |

$9 for a spicy tuna roll? OK. Tuna roll is only 6 pcs? Not OK. Quality is meh or worse? Not OK. There aren't many options at the airport, but this one is only good for grabbing a drink, and even then, there are better spots. The design is also odd - the super high sushi counter makes it hard for the servers to see patrons or where patrons are in their meal, drinks, etc. I must have been asked four times if I had chopsticks as they can't tell from the other side. Also, the music needs to change. Yikes - that loop they have running is, well, repetitive and annoying and too loud.

Decent sushi

By theebdk |

For an airport that lacks many decent sit down options, this is a nice alternative. There was a greeter at the front and I was seated quickly. The waitress was speedy and efficient, always noticing when my iced tea needed a refill. The food was good for airport sushi. Seaweed salad was fresh and tasty. Rainbow roll was larger than I expected and tasty. I did not need the avocado roll but it was also good. I will return.

4.75 Stars for Airport Sushi

By Bruce C |

I do not claim to have eaten sushi in all major US Airports, but have tried most of them.... and Sky Asian at PHL (C Terminal) is the best by far. The large rolls were a better "buy" than the standard roles..... they were very large with lots of fish. The fish was fresh and smooth. My business associate sat at the last available table on a jammed back evening (flight delays of course) and got fast and courteous service. I would give this place a try!

Quick Quality Bite!

Enjoyed dinner here this evening. Quite busy and all food looked good. I had the Pao Cho chicken lettuce wraps and fries. All very nice. Very Friendly waitress service who look after you and would come again.

Airport suprise

By lacyrawlins |

Flying home from PHL last week and the nearest restaurant to the gate is this place. I have a couple hours to kill and drop into this place. I had the yakisoba with shrimp. Perhaps the best meal I have ever had at an airport. Service was excellent, but the meal overshadowed all else.

Great food and Exceptional Service

By Chelsea M |

During a long delay in Philadephia, I stopped into Sky for lunch. Everything I ordered was fresh and delicious; sushi rolls, appetizer, and dessert were all tasty and came out quickly. The service was also impeccable. Even though it was a busy shift, my friendly and attentive server didn't grumble in the least about fetching me a new teacup when I absent-mindedly poured soy sauce into mine. A great place to eat in an unhurried manner. Will absolutely be back!

Efficient service/good food

By Steven L |

Didn’t know what to expect but the sushi was very fresh and high quality. The sautéed green beans were delicious, crisp and not over cooked. Nice selection of beers and wine. Pleasant and efficient service, great job!

One of the few sit down restaurants in Terminal C

By Flounder M |

While we were waiting to continue our flight, we found this location which appeared to cater more to the Business crowd. Casual and smart casual attire. The hostess was pleasant as she seated us at a window table with a view of the planes. Our waitress was knowledgeable however, she was a impatient since we were undecided. Unsure why behaved this way when the bistro was not entirely full, at the time. I ordered the Kobe Burger $15. If I closed my eyes, I was not able to differentiate it from another burger. I received a good size portion for burger and fries. The best part of the burger was the BACON. We had a bit of a wait for our order. Would I eat here again? No

THE WORST PLACE TO EAT AND SERVICE IS BEYOND DISRESPACTFUL

By theonewhoisobserving |

I went there to get some food and drink... This was the begining of my nightmare. The service was about as friendly as a box full of rattlesnakes that had been shook up. I think they need to fire the person who hires such low life trash. I have to say the food was again just discusting. I even called talked to a manager SARRA MADDEN sent her a email as well as requesting to please refund my money. She stated oh yes sir whats your address I give it and wait and wait and wait I then send a follow up email only to have the email address now not exsist.I then call over 15 xs to have no one answear.Great job on ripping me off, Great job on complete dissapointment, Great job on no one giving a rats tail about the customer the CEO should really be ashamed and want better but Im sure his wallet is fat and dont give a rats tail about the customer. Thanks for your complete ripp off and unprofessionalizem and lieng to your customer just say,,, to bad we got your money now go get bent. I will tell all please dont ever go to this place save yourself the trouble and just go next door

Nice Place to Chill Food is Good Price Reasonable for Airport

By fathert2014 |

Nice Place to Chill Food is Good Price Reasonable for Airport. Went back and forth from Seafood Grill to here. Had great service, very quick. Ordered Firecracker Roll and Miso Soup. Both were very Good. Just the perfect spice. When I ordered a lady next to me wanted to know what kind of roll I had. Looks really good, so she ordered the same one. I'd go back.

bad services, bad food, high prices

By gustavo727 |

I went on July 15, 2011 by myself, it was only me and the lady still asked me," table for how many" the waitress was very bad, she did not go anything right of my order, food was tasteless, very bad and expensive, plus the lady at front seated me next to the register where all the waitresses hung up and gossip about the customer, no very smart move

Good little place...Good...

Good place for asian-style lunch but a little expensive

By Chang- G |

Not a bad place for airport fare and definitely a nicer option than the food court. Decor is modern and clean, though space is tight as can be expected in an airport. They do offer a nice variety of pan-Asian foods including sushi (which I'm always wary about in an airport because who wants to risk a 8-hr overseas flight with potentially suspect raw fish?) The sushi is actually not that bad (which I sometimes indulge in when heading home on a short hop regional jet). This time around it was a family vacation trip and the kids had the ramen noodles which were deemed just okay, but at least better than the instant kind. My wife had some steamed vegetable dumplings and har gow (shrimp dumplings) but these were only okay at best, too. On the other hand, I had their chicken pad thai and it was pretty good with fresh cilantro, lime, fish sauce, and crushed peanuts. Their hot green tea was good and fragrant, served in a clever tea pot with built-in strainer. Service was decent and attentive; prices were a little high IMO.

Such a nice surprise !

By Chantalligator |

A sushi place in an airport sounds like botulism waiting to happen!! We had lunch here on a long layover and it was perfect. The service was very good and the food even better. The sushi guy was super and friendly too. If you are ever in philly airport, go eat there!!

Not the place for Sushi...

By DanM003 |

But the burger and other food is very good if you are looking for a sit down place in the Philly airport (and have the time) - I've had the sushi before as well as a few rolls... it is basically very overpriced for what you get so save your money and wait until you can go to your favorite place - however, I can recommend most other items on the menu. Service is hit or miss but generally good in a very crowded area (you not only have to deal with close tables but everyone also has their luggage clogging the aisles...) but it is airport food after all.

Good for Airport, but Pricey

By 156AlanL |

I had a short amount of time between flights. The staff was very accommodating. They seated us immediately and the service was friendly and quick. The pad thai was very good as was the tuna roll. However, the shrimp dim sum was ordinary and way over priced, even for an airport. Given a similar set of circumstances, I would eat there again.

Horrible chicken salad

By Suzanne M |

I had what can only be described as the worst Asian chicken salad I have EVER had in my life at this place. It was way too spicy, the chicken tasted like it was on the edge of going bad, and it was a soggy mess. It came in a tiny box and it cost me $10! I took three bites, threw it away and got a pretzel and a smoothie instead. Also the kitchen staff weren't using gloves, and I saw one woman in the back grabbing a big handful of noodles with her bare hands and plopping it into a dish that was destined for the sit-down area of the place.

Great Place if you have the time

By DanM003 |

If for some reason you find yourself stuck in the Philly airport (much I could say here but won't since this is about restaurants), the Sky Asian Bistro is a nice place to sit down and have a decent meal... sushi is OK but super overpriced, so don't bother with it - rolls are OK also and at least not as overpriced - typically large and filling, especially with a beer. The burger is good if you are really hungry, as well as several other options on the menu if you are not into sushi, etc. Can be very crowded and tables are close together making it a challenge to navigate if you have your carry ons with you. Service is generally excellent and they seem to understand that some people may be in a hurry and some may not, depending on their flight schedule.

Good sushi

By Joe S |

Had the firecracker roll. It was very good. Service was fast. Price seemed a little high for what it was but it is in an airport after all.

Killing time waiting for a flight

By Frank Masters |

Very nice Asian restaurant featuring fresh Sushi. I sat at the bar and only had beers, but watched the Asian staff interact behind the very large bar was quit impressive. Enjoyed watching the Sushi chefs prepare fresh meals too. Looked around as other guest were eating and all the dishes looked very appealing. Very attractive wait staff too.

The service is horrific...

By Caitlin G |

The service is horrific. The food is good, although if you order something with tofu (and I'm guessing its the same with meat) they don't give you very much of it. As far as the service goes, it's slow, and the servers could care less about you. But the food really is good.

Good Sushi for an airport restaurant

By 522JohnM522 |

Overall very impressed with service, selection, and food quality for an airport restaurant. We ordered several sushi rolls, apps, and entrees to share. All cam quickly and tasted delicious. Will definitely frequent this restaurant on my next pass through the Philly airport.
