Nice steaks

By Roxana G |

Good food for a great price. You get a good view of the gondolas if you eat in the second floor balcony.customer service on the waiters was phenomenal

Fabulous New York Strip

By Eduardo K |

Great restaurant. The New York Strip is fabulous, we ask to accompany asparagus that are of great quality. I ordered a glass of a red wine from Napa with a Bordeaux cut with a reasonable cost benefit that harmonized very well with the meat.

Birthday celebration

By Danostar |

From the moment we sat down to paying the bill, we had a wonderful experience at S&W!! My wife was celebrating her birthday and our server was over the top with a complimentary slice of cake, see picture! We had the 28oz bone in ribeye steak (medium rare) with mushrooms and whipped mashed potato. We started with Caesar salad and Italian wine. We will be back next time in Vegas!

Spectacular food! Go here, eat & love it.

By Rupert H |

Spectacular food! Go here, eat and be amazed. Seafood to die for and steaks that are out of this world. Words escape me, I have never eaten so well.

Family Holiday Tradition

By Lise W |

We love Smith and Wollensky. We almost always order a hanging tomahawk steak. The table-side finishing with a blowtorch is spectacular, and the taste and quality of their in-house aged beef is superb. We also enjoy their Cajun seasoning option on their ribeyes. Their seafood towers are fresh and delicious. Their service is attentive and unbeatable, and is one of the main reasons we return year after year.

Nice evening diner

Very nice place, iceberg salad with good bacon and the blue cheese dressing, and a filet, I don’t drink wine but the have a very large selection. Service is great also

Wish I had picked a different place

I booked this restaurant to celebrate my husband's 40th, and told the restaurant ahead of time. They promised me a table with a view of the canal. We arrived a little late (5 mins ish) and were told our table was not ready, not a big deal... but odd when you've made a reservation. Then we were seated in the corner.... not a view of the canal... I suppose if you stood up and looked over you'd get the far end? But not even close to what I would call a view. The meal was ok. The sides are MASSIVE and we did not need the amount that we ordered. It would have been nice if they were a little more honest about that, I hate wasting food. Four people could not finish the the two sides that were ordered. The twice baked potatoes were not worth it at all.... We had the surf and turf for two, the lobster was cooked perfectly! The steak however was unevenly cooked and unevenly cut. There were large end chunks ? It was odd, and not what you expect when paying $150. Overall the food was good, nothing exceptional. The rest of the party was satisfied enough with their meals and the server did a good job figuring out some allergy issues people had. Overall I don't think it was worth the cost. (Our portion of the bill , after conversion, was over $400) On top of that I was a little annoyed with the ending. Since I had told them we were there celebrating a birthday they brought out the chocolate cake without asking or prompting. The cake was AMAZING.... however they charged us for it. This was a surprise as there was no choice in this happening, which would make someone assume it was a complimentary thing for birthdays. I just feel like if you are going to charge someone for an item they should probably get a say in it. Perhaps no one wanted dessert, or maybe the birthday boy wanted a different item? Its one thing when its a comp item.. you get what you get.. but when you are being expected to pay it was a weird thing to do. Overall it was not terrible, but it also had some big flaws in my mind. There wasn't really anything about it that made it special (kind of important when celebrating a bday, especially a big one)... and when you combine it with the flaws and the price tag... it just is not worth it. There are so many options in Vegas for good eats, I wouldn't come back here.

Great place to eat

By GrandTour471788 |

Food, drinks and staff were great! Vegas restuarants are expensive, so if you're willing to spend your money you might as well go to the best!

Pretty good

By NJTRAVELER4097 |

Enjoyed the meal, had the surf and turf special for two. The atmosphere is nice, the food was good, and the waitress was very good. I did have one complaint, I ordered a Manhattan cocktail. As I was drinking it, I noticed the glass was chipped, and there was a hairline crack in the glass. The waitress took the drink back and returned with a new drink. My concern, and I don’t know but think they just poured the drink into a new glass.

Good food, mediocre service

By Poorhorseowner |

I can’t say I’m a fan of the Venetian but the restaurant is a welcome escape from it. The food was very good but the service lacked charm and wasn’t very attentive

Excellent meal

By Tom I |

We were taken here by a potential supplier (that's what CES is all about). The food and service were excellent and the restaurant wasn't too loud so good for business. I would definitely come again if someone else pays.

Little less formal than some Vegas steakhouses - Good food.

By Dan M |

We visited S&W in late Jan 2024 for a Sun night dinner. It was not crowded. It was not too loud, which is nice so one can hear conversation. There are tables on multiple floors/levels. The caesar salad was average - not too garlicy, but a bit overly salty. The asparagus was a little crunchy, seemed slightly undercooked. Mashed potatoes were excellent. A loaf of warm freshly baked bread was delicious. The filet mignon was very good, though cooked slightly more red than I had requested (medium well). The wine selection was excellent, and the wine steward very helpful. Service was prompt, attentive, and friendly. The setting is slightly less formal than some steak houses in Vegas - more akin to the Palm.

Can't fault the steak!

By Rob Y |

I visited solo in November 2023 for a steak lunch, I had the wagyu flat iron which was cooked exactly to my liking and had a wonderful flavour, as good as any other non-Japanese wagyu I have had. It was around 2:30pm when I sat down and the restaurant was not very busy at all, the service was prompt, my only grumble would be that my particular server didn't seem to be as chatty or friendly as the other server I saw at the time, he didn't particularly engage me at all.

Food was good, but not worth a return visit.

By MooVonFloo |

We showed up a tad early for our reservation, they were accommodating and seated us quickly. We were taken upstairs and about a mile into the rear of the restaurant. There are several dining rooms at this establishment which I found interesting. Appetizers were the: crab cake :(ok flavor, was more like a scoop of crab slop vs a cake) and the Tuna tartar (yummy!) and their bread which was soft, fluffy and tasty. My main was the prime dry-aged ribeye with a side of creamed spinach. Meat was cooked perfectly, and the creamed spinach could have used a bit more cream; I had to add salt as it was too bland. Dessert was the creme brûlée, I’ve never complained about a dessert being too large, but two people can probably share it. All in all the food was good (no one has beaten Andiamo’s yet) , but I do not see myself returning. There was so much space in the other two seating areas of the restaurant that I wish we’d been seated elsewhere as we were only a party of three but were surrounded by large groups of 7 or more people , so we could barely hear each other.

Amazing customer service!

By Lisa J |

We loved this restaurant! The food was amazing and our server, Matty, was awesome!! They have an amazing chocolate cake for dessert. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.

A charming and excellent eatery.

By ArchbishopOfBanterbury |

Been to a few S&W venues now due to their consistent quality. The Las Vegas branch did not dissapoint. Restaurant was well presented, table overlooked the indoor canal, and staff were very attentive. Food was superb as usual as were the drink selections.

A little behind the competition

By Montana16 |

I was looking forward to visiting S&W but unfortunately we were slightly underwhelmed. The steaks were good but nothing special. The dining room isn't particularly inviting, it's one of those places you want to eat and leave asap. I guess the location doesn't help, being stuck in the middle of the Venitian. The service was very good though.

Great place for a quick drink

By K. B |

We searched and searched for a restaurant/bar that served Sambuca because I wanted to make a toast to my husband who passed away. As we were walking by this restaurant I figured I'd ask the girl at the front of the restaurant if they served Sambuca. A gentleman appeared at the podium and said "Black or clear?" Oh heck, they've got my vote! Although the shots of Sambuca were rather pricey, it was well worth it. I wish we'd had time to have dinner because their steaks looked fantastic! If I ever go back to that area of Vegas, I'll definitely try their meals.

Highly recommend!!!!

By beckya |

My husband and I were in Vegas for our 10th anniversary and we were searching for a steakhouse to celebrate. We had gone to Ruth Chris but wanted to try something else. During our search we came across Smith & Wolensky and called. They had a 9pm open so we decided to try it and we were amazed!!!! The service was top notch and the food was even better!!!! They also surprised us with an incredibly huge and delicious piece of chocolate cake for dessert!!! We HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!!! It was fantastic!!!

Good steak house - nice atmosphere.

By Sergio1954 |

This is our second time eating at this restaurant. Our reservation was honored promptly. We were there over New Years - so it was BUSY. Seemed like they needed more help as we waited quite a while for every course. Drinks took a while coming as did the bread (which was good). We had the filet and lobster for 2 ($165). It was very good, lobster was done to perfection. We asked for medium -- and the middle was medium rare --- close to bloody. We didn't want to send it back since it took so long to get there. We had a side of fries which were good. Enough to share. Everything was OK --- except for an overall 5 star experience -- everything needs to be perfect -- service and food prep in my estimation could have been better.

Nice lunch

By lucycan |

We sat in the bar area and had lunch. Place was packed. Service was great. Food was very good. Prices seem very high, like dinner prices for lunch, but its good.

Average

By DVITSAXAKIS |

Generally I love this restaurant but this time I was not satisfied as previous. The service was good but the place was empty even if it was Saturday night.

The food is delicious and

By Gina A |

The food is delicious and we all agreed it was the most perfectly cooked filet! We had a large party and the service and timing of courses was perfect. All of the drinks from the bar were great. They have an extensive wine list. The crab cake and there shrimp appetizer were tasty. The salads were huge - you can order a half if desired. Same thing with all of the sides! Order half the size of you really think you want them as the steak is the main event. The service was just super friendly (Matthew was great - request him if you can). The decor is great and very reminiscent of older days. You will pay for the quality and service. This place isn’t cheap. But, you will not regret the money and will easily forget anything about a budget once your tastebuds start activating. The Brussels, onions, and creamed spinach sides were great. Nobody had room for dessert.

Awesome food and accommodating

By Charles S |

I have food allergies that limit me in some places. The waiter worked with me to accommodate my issues. Was an excellent meal and he was an excellent server.

A MUST for TRUE STEAK LOVERS in Las Vegas!

By MooreVegasFood |

Spoiler alert: this place is 5 stars and very very very yummy. I took a client of mine here for thanksgiving dinner. We decided to order off the regular menu although the thanksgiving menu looked yummy as well. The angry shrimp, bees wagyu prime rib & the crake cake are all a must try. I got the Cajun bleu steak because I thought it was going to be the same thing as what I showed a picture of to the waitress (had some cheese looking stuff ontop), but although she was so kind, she had no clue 🤣. I think she was new but she was sweet so I didn’t care. I received the wrong steak and my client got the 10 oz ribeye w/fried lobster on the side. I also got a glass of wine and we got the chocolate cake. Everything we ate was truly soooooo good. We sat upstairs near the bar area in a nice booth which was nice. I made reservations beforehand to sit upstairs overlooking the canal shoppes in venetian but when I arrived (I arrived 15 min before my guest), I decided that area was too loud (it WAS thanksgiving w/families and such). I didn’t want to drown out our conversation and there’s a slight echo that comes through the window from the canal shoppes walkway below (just details if you are someone who needs a quiet dinner). They quickly accommodated my change in seat request which is so so key. My experience was proof that things don’t need to be perfect to be a 5 star. I’ll be back. Thank you Smith & Wollensky for the amazing food, sweet service and lenient and generous seating solutions.

Las Vegas Bowl Weekemd.

By Kathy H |

We were in Tuen for a business at the Las Vegas Bowl. We took customers to this amazing restaurant for a special dinner. Juan was our waiter and did a fabulous job. Loved his personality. He made our evening a great one.

Fabulous Fine Dining Experience!

By CarMa555 |

This is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to in my 6+ decades of life. It was our 3rd visit over the years. The restaurant moved from where Target is now located to the Venetian. The Venetian is a really great setting for this super high quality restaurant. Our server, Eric, has been working there for 20 years. He talked with us extensively regarding changes over the years and menu selections. We both had the filet encrusted with Gorgonzola. Fabulous! The Smith and Wollensky Salad is a must! The chocolate cake for dessert was decadent and one of the best desserts you’ll find anywhere if you like chocolate and chocolate mousse cake. Thanks for a fabulous experience!

Delicious!

By Brittany W |

Delicious! The atmosphere is wonderful and the service was great. You could tell that they really care about the customer’s experience because we had multiple people ask us how everything was. The bone marrow was amazing!

Glacial and inexperienced service

By KBR |

One of the worst service experiences I’ve had. Glacial waits for our waiter to come by the first time, to bring us water, to deliver our drinks, bring our salads, our entrees. Never checked in on us so we had to flag him down for more water, more ketchup, etc. We noticed he did not know proper wine etiquette when pouring a bottle of champagne at the next table. Did not offer a taste to the buyer before pouring and filled each glass to the brim. When our food finally arrived it was indeed good, especially the steak sandwich. But the experience was very poor overall because of the negligent service.

Disappointed In the Food Loved the Service

By tosha896 |

Iggy the server was AWESOME! The food was not up to the standard that we were use to from Smith&Wollenskys.

Pricy but good

By Expattraveler100 |

Firstly, the wine on the iPad they leave on the table so you can research their cellar is best I’ve seen. Easy to navigate and a wide selection - top marks for that. Upon arrival remember to have ID if you want to charge to your room at Venetian- never needed that at any other hotel so save yourself a walk back to the room! Seating upstairs and down - both have nice full bars. Walk past the aging meat cellar upstairs and see the blocks of kidney fat and aging beef. Top marks for that too. We enjoyed the special rosemary bread they serve up front, the attentive friendly (non pretentious) service and the spectacular hanging on the bone juicy dripping tomahawk chop steaks we saw being delivered - at 44oz and $176 plus sides it’s a hefty meal at a hearty price, but stunning non the less. Lovely experience- thanks for the free dessert when we mentioned it was our wedding anniversary!

The familiar guys at the new location

By Alexander B |

In fact, two hard rock pilgrims were the frequent visitors to S&W located in Miami Beach. And while having a couple of free hours before our going to the Harry Reid Airport why not to drop in the S&W in Vegas? Well, first thing which we liked so much when we came there was our waiter Todd’s haircut - both punk-style and elegant. Being acquainted with the menu and after short warming up by a shared Clam Chowder we went directly to the steaks i.e. Fillet Mignons. And this very point Todd had performed his part offering me the rare cooking (normally I take medium rare). After having tasted my steak I realised that he was absolutely right - the meat alongside asparagus appeared to be so delicious! Another Todd’s significant contribution seemed on the stage of dessert choosing. His suggestion was Warm Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookie - hit the mark! Let alone that red Saldo Zinfandel served us all the lunch long till last its drop. Nice impressions before the long way home.

Best Meal I've had in years!

By 1111jesj |

The service was phenomenal, the food was absolutely worth every penny (I highly recommend the petite filet or the Waygu filet) and the sides were perfectly paired. Order half size portions of the sides, even for 2 or 3 people, as the portions are HUGE.

Amazing Steakhouse !!!!

By Dale |

Had a party of 8 while in Vegas and we picked Smith & Wollensky for our steakhouse dinner and we picked an amazing place to have dinner. We were seated on the 2nd floor and had a great view of the Grand Canal Shoppes. Had great drinks and wine, tried the scallops with bone marrow - WOW! My wife and I had The USDA Prime Dry Aged 46 oz. Porterhouse for two and it might be the greatest steak I have had! Fantastic flavors, cooked perfectly and cut table-side. Matter of fact all the larger cut steaks were cut table-side. It was seriously the highlight of my trip in Vegas. Thank you Smith & Wollensky for an amazing evening ! I must share this; They have a hanging Tomahawk Ribeye, yes it comes out on a hanger over yukon gold potatoes, they then seared one more time with a torch to get the fat to render over the potatoes, truly amazing!

Smith & Wollensky- Delicious

By David H |

Amazing dinner from the steak tartare to the surf and turf to the crème brûlée and espresso. The wait staff was impeccable and there for every little thing. Highly recommended

Superb in every aspect

By stevebintley |

For a special occasion or impressive steak I can’t recommend this place highly enough! Our group of seven had a brilliant welcome and were seated upstairs by the window, overlooking the canals beneath. The interior was beautiful, feeling traditional and sophisticated with everywhere spotlessly clean. The table was large and spacious, even for a group, and dressed great. The waiter was brilliant, able to explain everything on the menu in detail, offer genuine recommendations and always on hand without being overbearing. There’s a great choice of cocktails, each of which was prepared and presented perfectly, and they’re also willing to make classics not listed. The wine list was a particular highlight - presented on an iPad with the ability for recommendations to be made according to tastes, or the ability to drill down into particular bottles with extensive descriptions, maps and similarities. The food was served in good time and every steak was cooked perfectly according to the order. Sizes of each were huge and although the only thing on the plate didn’t suffer with presentation and looked as great as they tasted. We shared our sides amongst the group and each was delicious, with the corn manchego being a particular unique favourite amongst everyone. Deserts were equally as large as the steaks and left no one disappointed, especially the cheesecake! This is far from a cheap restaurant but for the quality of the food, setting and service totally worth it. If I could afford to visit more often I wouldn’t hesitate!

Best meal we have ever had!

By Barbi B |

We stumbled on this restaurant during out honeymoon stay at the Venetian. BEST MEAL EVER! The staff were amazingly friendly and on top of their game. Our water and champagne glasses were never empty. The experience was out of this world and the steak melted in our mouths. There is not one piece of constructive criticism to give this restaurant. I’d highly recommend this restaurant. I wish I lived in Las Vegas just to be able to go back more often. If you’re only going to go to one Steakhouse in LV, THIS is the one to go to. Seasoned, perfectly. Cooked, perfectly. Ambiance, wonderful. Service, exceptional. The GM and staff here deserve recognition!

Anniversary dinner

By Dance mom |

I cannot say enough good things about our experience. It was fabulous from beginning to end. Joseph was our sever. He was attentive and extremely accommodating. We were celebrating our anniversary and he was kind enough to bring us a beautiful dessert to end with. The steak was cooked to perfection as well as the sides. We will definitely be returning next time we are in Vegas.

Good steak

By Calvin B |

Not overly priced for vegas and in a hotel. filet mignon Steak was good size and cooked perfectly. Side portion of Mac n cheese was good and bread starter lovely. Staff great accommodated us as a walk-in with a child. Server very friendly and helpful.

PURE EXCELLENCE

By Lynn R |

I have nothing but fabulous things to say about S & W. From the atmosphere to the elegant decor and the super attentive staff it was phenomenal. We ordered the Tomahawk Steak and Seafood Tower for 3, pure perfection! And to end the night we had the most decadent chocolate cake I've ever had.

disappointed

By melanieanndluke |

We were sooo excited to spend $$$ on some fine and fancy dining, we made the reservation days in advance, got dressed up, and when we got there, they only had seats in the lounge area next to the stairs and bar. We asked them if they had any other tables open and they told us that they were reserved for “bigger parties”, they didn’t even mention a waiting time for the other tables, and we didn’t want to spend 100’s of dollars at a reject table. We asked them how we reserve for the tables in the main dining area and they didn’t have an explanation, we told them we didn’t want the table anymore and then left. 2 stars because the staff that spoke with us was nice enough to double check they couldn’t do anything for us at the main dining area. we’ll try again next time we visit Vegas, but we were so disappointed with the accommodation because we looked forward to it for days!!! :(

Great place to eat

By Dorian S |

The steak was awesome, and our server named (IK) was outstanding. he explained all the types of steaks and sides available, very skilled and knowledgeable.

Very Rude Waitress!!!

By delacl9 |

Very rude waitress! This is the first time we have encountered rudeness at it’s worst! We were the second Customer and was offered a booth or table. When I chose the booth, the rude waitress just didn’t wait on us and sent the bartender to wait on us while she went around all tables on several sections of the Restaurant and singled us out and passed by our table as if we didn’t exist! We weren’t going to pay attention to that but when our waiter inadvertently took my fork, I politely asked for a replacement and she grabbed a fork on another table and said “here”, slammed the fork on our table and walked away! We were gonna call the Manager but didn’t want to make a scene…this waitress who looked pregnant served us around 11:40 am, lunchtime on 09/08/2021…we went there because of good reviews on YouTube but dealing with this waitress is not worth going…I suggest you check out other good steakhouses like Golden Steer! We will never dine here again—ever! You just can’t treat people like that, I don’t care how good a restaurant is, if you have one bad apple, the entire Apple is inedible! My bf was so pissed that he gave our bartender/waiter a $100 tip!

Extraordinary steak!

By Cayetana |

ordered a filet mignon and it was just sublime!! Creme brulee is spectacular! The spinach and cream side were not good, it had a sour taste

4 star review -- steak house -- our steak wasn't done to what we asked????

By Sergio1954 |

This was our first time at this location in the Venetian. You need to go to the back of the bar area to get up to the 2nd floor where there is another bar and dining room. We were seated promptly at our reservation time, even though I feel the hostess could have been a bit more welcoming. We found our way upstairs and were greeted with a "Happy Birthday" for my husband (which it was). Our server (Maro) was very good. They have a caviar service (but we aren't caviar lovers). We did not order any appetizers as dinner is normally enough for us. We ordered the steak and lobster for 2. 18 oz filet and 2 lobster tails with potatoes on the side. We also ordered the whipped potatoes which were very good. The lobster was done to perfection. The inside of the steak was rare --- we ordered medium. Luckily, my husband was OK with the middle more rare part of the filet. Only gave a 4 star review because I feel if you are a steak house - and I order a medium steak -- it should be medium -- I shouldn't need to send it back. The steak was actually cut into pieces - so not like they couldn't check the doneness.

Still Kept their Quality!

By 323delzan |

They honored my reservation request for a table overlooking the canal in view of our anniversary celebration. Server was attentive and explained menu well. His suggestion of ordering the half size side dishes allowed us to try different ones without the overwhelming quantity of one order. That was very thoughtful and great customer service indeed! Steaks were great! Would certainly come back whenever we are in Vegas again.

Everything Perfect

By HawaiiKaiGail |

Located in the Grand Canal Shops, this restaurant hit all aspects perfectly. Stylish interior on 2 floors, with an elevator available. We were seated at a lovely table overlooking the Grand Canal. Tables have been removed for social distancing and face masks required. All good there. Our main waiter for the evening was Juan and he provided professional, friendly service. We started with a round of cocktails. Tasty rosemary bread with butter and 2 sea salts were provided. It was so good we ate all of it, which we usually don’t. As we are LV locals, we chatted with Juan about the changes he has seen since Covid. Nice size menu with surely something for every palate. We ordered 2 salads...they were large enough to be a meal on their own. Mine was heavenly with a delicious blue cheese dressing. We shared a NY strip priced at $58.00. Cooked perfectly. Also ordered a serving of the whipped potatoes. They come with basil and oil. Not to our liking...taken off the bill without asking. Thank you. Another round of drinks and a complimentary dessert for our special occasion. There is a bar upstairs as well. This is a restaurant to get dressed up for as it it special. Most patrons followed that suggestion, but a couple still wore their baseball hats in. You’re not at a game folks. We were there about 2 hours by choice. All the staff we came in contact with were pleasant. Such an enjoyable experience. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Go and see for yourself how a restaurant should be run. I highly recommend.

Amazing dinner with friends

By Wayne S |

Went with group of 9 and it was out of this world. Bartender George is awesome. Ask for Mark as your waiter his service is the best ever. My brother said Gorgonzola Filet was best steak he ever had. Couldn’t recommend it higher.

Great Place

By EZZIP23 |

Took a couple clients there for dinner one night--they are located inside the Venetian Hotel in the area of the Grand Shoppes. We sat at the bar downstairs and waited for a couple people to show up. Bartenders are very friendly and joke around with you. Once everybody got there, we went upstairs to be seated. The place is very busy, but the service we got was like we were the only table our waiter had to take care of--he did a GREAT job! We started off with some spicy shrimp and crab cakes which were very good, the bread was wonderful. The waiter helped us order a bottle of wine and we ordered our entrees and sides (served family style) I had the salmon which wasn prepared perfectly, and fro sides we had brussel sprouts, green beans and mashed potastoes. One of the couples had the tomahawk steak and they said it was the best steak they ever had--once most of the meat was gone, they wonmdered if anybody would be offended if the picked it up and gnawed on it like a dog! For desert, we ordered a piece of chocolate cake--be forewarned, it would probably feed 4 people--it was very good with the ice cream! My inner fat kid was doing the victory dance! Great food, great service = a wonderful dining experience! Great job S&W!

Good burger, fair price.

By christian m |

Starving after long trip. Sat at the bar. Ordered a delicious burger, came with coleslaw and fries. For Las Vegas and the Venetian affordable.Burger was delicious.

STEAK! Great customer service and great food!

By Squishyfaced LordVader |

This is my first time eating at Smith and Wollensky--when in Vegas! Soft bread appetizer with rosemary. YUMMY! Ordered: Caesar Salad--loved it! Wollensky Salad--very good! Wagyu & Lobster Steak-ation feature--excellent crust on the steak, little cooked too much for me, but it's wagyu so very good flavor. Fried lobster was also a first for me--first bite, not so much, second was amazing! Dessert--was my anniversary---chocolate chip cookie in an iron skillet with a scoop of vanilla ice cream---first, IrOn sKiLlEt--really good cookie! Overall-really good experience and will definitely return!

Better bone in ribeye at Piero's

By Moto311 |

Had bone in ribeye steak...just average. The night before had same at Piero's...much better! Service was good but the atmosphere is less than appealing...like eating in a warehouse. Prices ridiculous.

Excellent service, delicious steaks

By Pharehaven |

Arriving on spec, we were told that there were no seats available for another hour and a half, however we could see two seats at the bar. The female staff member on the door refused to acknowledge this but thankfully another staff member appeared and said 'no problem'. Once inside and sat at the bar, the service and food were excellent. The staff were very friendly (hats off to George who is the ace barman of the joint). The steak was delicious and was carved at the table. The accompanying spinach and fries were also good quality. It is not a cheap experience (allow at least $100 per head) but is definitely one of the best steak-house experiences in Las Vegas.

Great Meal Again

By ManhattanWilliam |

I love coming here and sitting at the bar when I'm in Vegas alone. Had the Wagyu "Manhattan Strip", splurged. Came with a mushroom wine reduction. It was delicious. My go-to is the Prime Strip, and this tasted more like a very flavorful filet. It was deliciously seasoned and had a distinct taste. Loved it! Different than the regular Strip, and a nice change. I'd say it's worth the extra cost when a splurge is in order. Had roasted cauliflower with Hollandaise on the side, 2 Franziskaner Weissbier, and with tip came to just over $150. No starter, no dessert. I'll return once more before I depart!

The BEST!

By jeremy j |

I live here and visited S&W pre pandemic and post. Lately more for business lunches or with my wife for day dates. S&W is flavorful, tasty, with fantastic menu. Staff is always amazing. If you want pure steak house that consistently delivers this is the place for you.

dinner on sunday night in the Venetian Smith and Wollensky

By Steven P |

I will keep this as short possible, with the good and the bad.. We were seated on time, but unfortunately in the back of the restaurant staring at paneling..ventilation was nil, it was very warm in that location. These are items that can we tolerated in a busy restaurant, what is hard to overcome is the noise level..if you are looking for a quiet, peaceful evening, this is not the place for you..When this operation was in the old town part of vegas, it was like having dinner in the 50's, the decor, and the vibe..and it was quiet..We chose this place based on the history we have had with Smith and Wollensky, and those were fabulous..this one in particular fell short..we couldnt have a conversation at a four top table without screaming at one another..it was absurd..They need to take action on the noise level, we are not the first to complain about that, and for what the cost is to dine here, they obviously have the money to make adjustments...but let me be very clear on this, the staff are as professional as they come, none better IMO, and the food is absolutely spectacular..we have dined at Joes at Ceasers, Rivea in the Delano both were $1000 plus dinner tabs..and both were fantastic, but they dont hold a candle to the food at Smith and Wollensky..

We had the hanging aged tomahawk

By SJDoe |

We had the hanging aged tomahawk steak and it was the nicest meat my husband and I had ever eaten! Absolutely delicious. Service was fab and a nice atmosphere upstairs in the restaurant. We would definitely recommend.

Best Restaurant in Las Vegas.

What elegance and fine food is all about. My two children have been taking me here my birthday dinner since they opened. We live in different parts of California but because the food is SO good, its a yearly thing. Hope for many more but the last BD was 89. No matter what your pleasure is, seafood or meat, everything on the menu is outstanding. Chilean Sea Bass is to die for and the Prime Rib is second to none anywhere. Sides are awesome.

Outstanding Food and Service

By MNFamily2014 |

This was our second time at Smith & Wollensky and this visit was as good as the first. The service is top notch and the food was spectacular. This will be a standard stop for us each time we visit Las Vegas. Don't hesitate to make a reservation!

Super good restaurant with delicious meat dishes

By Gino |

What a top restaurant if you want to enjoy a steak. The menu is very extensive and we had a Filet Mignon with bearneasse sauce, grilled asparagus and some fries. The meat was delicious which was washed down with a delicious red wine. Really enjoy it. This restaurant isn't cheap, but you can eat top!

Best steakhouse in Vegas

By ScoutWebster |

I have been here twice while visiting Vegas. It has been exceptional both times. Great drink selection/quality, friendly but not too loud/crazy atmosphere, and amazing food. The service was excellent both times, but especially recently. Matty was awesome. He was very helpful in making dinner selections and a great guy to chat with. He had the same rapport at all the tables he was serving. Dinner at S&W, especially if Matty's your server, will not disappoint!

Great atmosphere, great steaks

By Dale B |

We had to search a little to find S&W as they are now located in the Canal shops at Venetian. Casual yet sophisticated, friendly yet attentive, relaxed yet professional. There is a bar & separate dining area downstairs and upstairs, the upper level being considerably quieter and a bit more upscale. We sat at the upstairs bar and had the pleasure of being served admirably by Sean, the bartender. Two of us shared a Chateaubriand and it was delicious, perfectly cooked, savory and tender. The food menu, as well as the wine list, are formidable but not confusing and challenging. They keep it simple. If you are staying at the Venetian this place is a no brainer. If not, it will require a bit of an effort to get here, but well worth it.

Terrible service and ambience

By Lv2rdtrip |

I made a reservation months in advance for our 20th wedding anniversary and made sure to make this note on the reservation. We arrived dressed up very nicely only to be given a table in the bar immediately next to the entrance which opened up into the mall. The said " happy anniversary" and that was it, no flowers on the table or anything else. Terrible ambience, definitely not a romantic atmosphere for a 20th anniversary. When I brought this up to the manager, she could have cared less and said, well we are fully committed so that's the only table available. We left and will never return.

Food, as usual, was very good. Service was lacking.

By laceylouise |

My wife and I died on a Monday evening. The restaurant was not busy. We were seated far away from everyone for some unknown reason. After sitting there for five minutes, we decided to ask to be moved and we were moved to a more central spot. The food was good we enjoyed split pea soup, French onion, soup, seafood, Tower, lobster tails and truffle, macaroni and cheese. We had no issue with any of the food. Once we had moved our table, the service was in attentive. I’m not sure what the issue would be, but we moved because we did not feel comfortable where we were sitting. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to accommodate your guests who are spending approximately $260. The food was good, but the service could have been a lot better.

Excellent here. Had a great waiter who was very helpful and attentive. Lovely place had scallops and steak which was great and my partner had BBQ ribs - lovely wine very clean and a nice evening

Exceptional Meal

By Scott F |

We didn't have reservations. Things were booked up elsewhere. Out of desperation we just checked to see if they might have a table, despite being very underdressed. They seated up immediately. The meal was exceptional, the best steak I have ever eaten. The service was perfect. Thank you for a great experience.

Style over substance

By Richard P |

The restaurant seems like a fancy brand with a fancy menu …but the execution is not up to scratch. I dined solo last night (8th May) and went upstairs to the lounge. Three reception staff all talking amongst themselves. Super off-hand. Much more interested in talking to each other than making a customer feel at home. I was pointed at the bar (not taken over) …. It was quite clear it was full from a distance. Came back…said I needed a table, which was provided begrudgingly. Eating solo can be difficult and diners can feel uneasy or self conscious. A good establishment would recognise this and make such customers feel at home. Steak was okay. Cannot complain. Peppercorn sauce had no peppercorns in it. After a bad start it was all a bit m’eh. So I gulped it all down and headed out of there with relief

Ridiculously good

By Paul52Atlanta |

Like its parents in NYC, this restaurant knows steaks and service. Get the filet steak diane and you'll never forget it. Just superb. Good wine list.

Don't go here for a holiday meal

By NJdudette |

This all occurred on Thanksgiving day, our reservation was at 7:15pm. We waited 15 minutes before our waiter arrived to our table and he (I think his name was Josh??) proceeded to complain about his other table and that he would make it up to us. He took our order and disappeared. Another server delivered my drink and we were told bread would be coming. We waited another 15-20 minutes (it would have been nice to have bread with my soup). I ordered the Thanksgiving special and my sister ordered the Filet Mignon, her meal came out satisfactory but I could not say the same about mine. It was absolutely horrible. The turkey meat was so dry that I could barely drink enough water to keep from gagging on it, the giblet gravy was very thick and burnt, yes burnt which made eating the meal difficult. The potatoes au gratin were cool and the potatoes weren't cooked enough. The cranberry chutney would have been good had the taste of the orange not overwhelmed the cranberries and the brussel sprouts were not only cold, but they weren't cooked enough. We complained to another waiter as we couldn't seem to find ours and they brought the brussel sprouts to the kitchen and simply re-heated them. A manager returned with them but never asked how the rest of our meal was. I finally couldn't eat anymore and waited another 15-20 minutes for our waiter to return where I then told him how bad the meal was and he said, "oh my god why didn't you tell me?" I couldn't tell him because he never came to our table!! The restaurant removed the turkey dinner and a glass of wine from our bill, but not once did a manager come over and apologize. The waiter attempted to make things better by sending over an extra dessert...my sister doesn't like apple pie so that was a waste. Horrible experience and we were so looking forward to this meal. We won't be back. UPDATE: On 12/5/20 one of the managers reached out to me after I left the above review on OpenTable, I responded to his email and guess what? He never replied...doesn't shock me after what we experienced. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!

Very Solid Steakhouse !

By 'DTK'UItraveler |

Went to Vegas just to get away for a little shopping and dining for the weekend and did not want to leave the resort. We ended eating at Smith & Wollensky in the Grand Canal Shoppes and this place is great. Yes it is going to be a bit pricey but it's worth it! My wife and I both had the "Coffee & Cocoa Rubbed Filet -- wow. They are busy so plan in advance and make reservations. Really good steakhouse.

Very good dining experience

By specialkell55 |

Ordered ribeye steak which was cooked well and had good flavor. I meant to order the smaller of the two ribeyes on the menu, but they brought me the larger one (I ate rest for breakfast). My guest ordered the pork chop which was also very good. Mac and cheese was okay. Fried lobster was great. Wollensky Salad was great too. Not many people in restaurant, so no major discomfort when not wearing mask. Their out door dining is technically not in the dining room, but open into the mall area in their enclosed space. The prices are high, but we knew that beforehand.

Would visit again

By cbhicks2019 |

Shared the cajun bone in ribeye, Caesar salad and truffle Mac n cheese and it was good. The espresso martini was fantastic!!! Husbands bourbon on the rocks was good. Bill was $178 so it’s not cheap. Service was excellent!

Best meal in Vegas

By David H |

We had an incredible dining experience from start to finish. Service was superb, {William pure class}, recommended wine was beautiful, starters, main course and dessert all incredible. A really great meal that all 4 of us enjoyed. I would recommend Smith and Wollensky without hesitation

After years of going to S & W for special occasions, we won't be back.

By craigandlaura2023 |

When we arrived 5 minutes early for our long standing reservation/party of 12, we were rudely told we were too early and that we had to be out in 2 hours as they had overbooked. Overbooking is not my problem. We made this reservation weeks in advance. The food has gone downhill since their move to the mall location. Sides that used to feed many people are now less than 1/2 the size and cost twice as much. When we were finishing up our 2 towers of seafood appetizers, the trays were whisked away and no leftovers were returned boxed up to go. The same thing happened with all the sides, the dishes were whisked away without even a mention of boxing them up. Some of the dishes were untouched. The portions in meals like the chillean sea bass were very small with gummy risotto under it. The sea bass was not fully cooked and by the time our waiter (who did not actually serve our meal) returned to check on our table, others were finishing their meal so I didn't bother to send it back and as you probably guessed, no one offered to box up the barely touched meal or questioned why it had not been eaten. At the end of the meal, a slice of birthday cake was presented to the honoree. No one had ordered it so we made the mistake of thinking this was something nice the restaurant did. Nope, they charged us $19.95 for that single piece of cake. It was noisy , chaotic and the staff was crabby and tangling with each other. We were located right at the kitchen door so there was no chance for decent conversation. The last couple of times we have been there, it has not been pleasant. The decision has been made that our group will never return. The cost to eat there is very high and you would expect it to be much better but it is not.

Liked food and wine ONLY

By Alice K |

Great location, fine quality food, good ambience but I would never go back.

Loud and average

By vegasrugbyref |

First time to this location located in Venetian Canal Shops. Sat upper floor. Very noisy tables. Waiter didn't even introduce himself. Food was good although I would say the spicey shrimp is way better than the cocktail. Waygu steaks were good and tender..I recommend the black is less marbled. Sides were all shareable size. Pricing wasn't bad. Good liquor and wine selections.

Good food, rushed poor service

By El Capitan |

Booked way in advance as a birthday celebration, the food overall was good but have had better. They had a huge wine collection but they didn’t seem to suggest anything and just gave us an iPad to choose from. Just felt like service was rushed so left a little disappointed. Maybe it was an off day for the staff

Unbelievable

By Rockfist |

We ate here tonight. Cannot rate it highly enough. Simply magnificent. We had the steak to share, me with peppercorn and her with bearnaise. We devoured every single morsel and savoured each bite. We also had the fries and whipped potatoes, delish. We were served by the awesome Finn, very attentive and obviously loves his job as he was so happy to share his steak knowledge. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!

Just ok

By AnnieTigers |

The filet was good but the green beans were way too salty. The mac and cheese was good but very rich. Service was great but the food was over priced. We came here for our 15 year anniversary and they did give us a dessert as a nice touch but overall too much money for what you get. I will say the filet was one of the best I've had so if you go here-get that and nothing else and you will be happy.

Anniversary Dinner

By David S |

My wife and I dined here for our 30th wedding anniversary on June 4. I had reservations and I had requested a table overlooking the Grand Canal. We arrived on time and were promptly seated at a table overlooking the Grand Canal. Good start. The receptionist and the waiter congratulated us on our anniversary. We were served bread and ordered the Angry Shrimp appetizer. Both were excellent. We both ordered a filet mignon (with mushrooms) and they were cooked as ordered and were great. As we were leaving, another employee congratulated us for our anniversary. It is the little things that sometimes make the difference in a fine dining experience. Smith & Wollensky is a fine steak house serving prime steaks and is a 5-star experience.

Very nice meal.

By Kelly H |

I had the filet and it was very good. We also shared the whipped potatoes, which were very tasty and the cauliflower which were very good also. For the prices, I was hoping for slightly better. The steak could have had much more flavor in my opinion. However, the service was excellent and the ambiance was nice as well.

Great Food

By Txaggievet |

Went for my Sons 21st Birthday Dinner, We had the Hanging Tomahawk Wagyu. SO DELICIOUS. Not to mention the waiter was great, took care of us very well. Would recommend and if we are back in Vegas I would go again.

Good Food & Atmosphere

By arkyscott |

We had dinner here for our anniversary. The food was very good but, in true Vegas form, very expensive. It was overall a very good experience. The staff was very friendly and professional.

The best!!

By Courtney |

This place is GREAT. We got right in and were seated a booth. The atmosphere is quiet and spacious. It's located where the shops connect casinos (or maybe just inside the shops of Venetian I'm not sure) so there's no real view to speak of. But it's nice and elegant inside. I had the gorgonzola crusted steak with potatoes and the house salad. SO GOOD. Probably the best steak I've ever had. My mom had a filet and loved it and my brother had the sea bass which he claims was "good" but he ate every bit which he won't do if he doesn't love something! I could eat the rosemary bread every day and we all loved it! I took the coconut cake back to the hotel which we all shared and was pretty good. Our waiter was great and kept the drinks full and we had no delays or hiccups with our meal. Everything was perfect. 10/10 outstanding and recommended when you visit!

Excellent Birthday celebration.

By Martha R |

We had the seafood Tower and it was wonderful. Great quality and worth every penny. My filet mignon was cooked to perfection.

Anniversary dinner disappointment

By Jamie Lee Hsieh |

We decided to splurge a bit on some expensive steaks on my first time in Las Vegas and to celebrate our anniversary, my hubbie had the waygu steak and lobster tail which ok but he asked for medium well and it was just medium, I had the 28+ oz bone in ribeye ($70.) and I asked for it medium well and it was overdone and no flavor and some parts were burnt. The split pea soup was great but our other sides were lacking. By the reviews I was expecting an out of this world steak experience but instead was disappointed.

Nice dinner!

By Maureen S |

We had dinner before the Eagles concert. Our server, Greg, was wonderful. He recommended a great mid range bottle of wine that was fantastic. The steak was cooked to perfection. He surprised us with a complimentary chocolate cake that was delicious! The restaurant is lively but not loud so we could have a nice conversation over our meal. Warm bread comes as an appetizer!

Perfection!

By WPLandry |

We enjoyed every part of our experience from the friendly staff to the incredible meal! I am here with my husband and my parents. We both have April anniversaries and this is the first opportunity to celebrate in a few years so we are living it up and celebrating both anniversaries this week. I jotted that in our reservation notes and upon entering, we were immediately wished a happy anniversary by the hostess and later surprised with a huge piece of 10-layer chocolate cake. Everything we ordered was phenomenal. I would offer recommendations but truthfully I believe everything is equally amazing. Their bartender makes perfect cocktails; truly top-notch. We also thoroughly enjoyed the 2018 Smith & Wollensky Meritage. I would highly recommend a dining experience here.

Very Meh. Not worth the expense.

By Steevvoh |

I would rather eat tacos or go to McDonald's than eat here again. Disappointing. Overrated. Not worth your time or money.

Great meal, great staff, great experience

By ron c |

Not a fan of Vegas, but we flew in and out to go hiking at Zion. We stayed downtown on our return on May 28th and were looking for really nice place to enjoy the evening, and picked S&W even though its a chain. We had an excellent meal, drinks, and service. Robert T served us well. We had some mixed drinks and wine. Love the wine app that lets you read all about your potential choices- a real bonus to the meal experience. I had the filet bone in with a lobster tail and my wife had the twin filet. We loved the peppercorn sauce on or steaks, which were cooked excellently to the proper Medium. If you visit Vegas and want an exceptional meal, come to S&W. Forget the rest of the strip and all that it doesn’t offer.

An experience of two halves…

By BronteBucket |

We didn’t get a very warm welcome at this S&W - we were booked as two couples, but we arrived separately. The first couple to arrive were not allowed to go to the table until we had arrived despite a request to do so. Instead they were directed to the bar where they ordered drinks. When we got there we proceeded to order a drink at the bar to have with our friends but were the ordered yo make our way directly to the restaurant table and not allowed to stay in the bar. It just all felt so jobs worth. Front of house staff shockingly unwelcoming. Once upstairs at our table the contrast couldn’t have been greater. We had the friendliest waitress from Quebec who looked after us really well. Good burger but think the initial experience would prevent us from returning or recommending.

Sorely disappointing because of service!

By Duncan Yip |

Meeting with a dear friend in Vegas, and he suggested going to S&W for steak, and I was totally looking forward. We arrived in restaurant for our reservation slightly ahead of time, because it wasn't crowded we were seated right away. Our waitress had multiple tables and we understood we had to wait a bit, but it seems she was paying the least amount of attention to us but kept yapping it up with a group of "more American" looking male, she did take our order of swinging tomahawk ribeye but really her attention was not on us. The steak was excellent, but we were more served by the bus lady instead of server, problem was compounded when my friend's girlfriend was not finished with food and bus lady asked if she can remove the plate after I was done with mine, almost seemingly wanting to rush us out. Food was really great, but sadly with this level of service, it would be very hard to choose this restaurant again.

Nothing to Rave About

By Patty B |

We have dined at quite a few S & W's over the years and have always had an enjoyable time. This wasn't one of them. We were seated in a large room upstairs. The first thing we noticed was the staff starting with the unkempt looking fellow who filled our water glasses and brought a loaf bread immediately to the table. It was warm when it arrived, unfortunately we didn't feel like eating it the minute our rears hit the seat. Next up was Jesse R our waiter. He was less than stellar in so many ways. Quite condescending to say the least. We ordered drinks which were good. Pea Soup one of their specialties also good. Our $85.00 filet mignon which we shared (12 oz) was raw in the middle. Not the medium plus we told Jesse we wanted. Whipped potatoes were a small portion and not great. It was split by another waiter who at least was dressed like he belonged in an upscaled expensive restaurant. He however did not see that the meat was not cooked as ordered. Jesse never came back to check on us, so we just ate it. When Jesse did appear we told him we were displeased. He then gave us dessert menus. We were celebrating a birthday which the hostess mentioned when we arrived. I had read and saw the table next to us receiving a piece of chocolate cake and wished a happy birthday. I said to Jesse don't you know we are celebrating a birthday. He back peddled and said "Oh I wanted you to select something because of the steak. Yeah Sure !! then why not mention that to us. I would not recommend this restaurant. We had dined at Delmonico a few nights before. No comparison. Delmonico has been in the Venetian for almost 30 years. Staff is professional, impeccably dressed and very attentive. And their steaks are fabulous. We have been there several times since 2000 and have never been disappointed. That's where we will go in the future. I will review them soon. We had to cake which was good, but not much else was. We saw at least 3 tables getting that huge swinging Tomahawk steak. I guess those people spending $270.00 for that steak got better treatment.

Excellent restaurant with canal view.

By regina l |

We went there for special occasion and we were impressed by excellent service and tasty food (ordered NY strip) . Gigantic chocolate cake was complementary. We would definitely recommend this place.

The Best!!

We always visit smith and wollensky when in London so was really looking forward to trying there restaurant in Las Vegas. The experience did not disappoint, the restaurant decor and atmosphere is very nice, all the staff were very friendly and really helpful taking the time to have a chat and answer any questions you have. All our food was faultless being cooked just the way we asked and very large portions, followed by an amazing espresso martini cocktail. Looking forward to visiting again on our next vegas trip.

Closest way earlier than posted hours

Couldn’t even get in even with a reservation at 9:00. We called and let them know we were running late a d got there at 9:14 and the door was locked. Called and they wouldn’t let us dine with them.

Amazing food

By MPG1862 |

Can't recommend highly enough after our recent visit. We had the fillet steak and lobster tail meal for 2 and it was perfectly cooked. Add the mac and cheese side as it can't be missed.

Reliable steak and potatoes

By VFP |

I believe they changed the menu slightly (upgraded options with an upgraded price tag) for Valentines Day weekend. Despite that, I will say I got a good value for money paid. Meal delivery was a little slow, and overall, I would say they don't pay constant attention to their patrons. I would try another steakhouse in Vegas because there are so many. Nothing to write home about. Just reliable steak (which was very tender and delicious as medium well) and potatoes.

Incredible Steak and Wonderful Service

By Aaron |

Listen, if you want great service and incredible steak in Las Vegas, go here. My wife and I love steakhouses and we got the full gamut of what Smith and Wollensky has to offer. Juan and Gregory were incredible. Funny, engaging, not intrusive, and had some incredible recommendations. Top notch, this is now our go-to every time we return to Vegas. Thanks all!

We celebrated our 42nd anniversary. What a extraordinary evening. Our requested table was available, facing the canal. Our meal was GREAT !! Your staff was friendly and knowledgable. The chateaubriand and rib eye was cooked to perfection. The scallops were wonderful. We received a complimentary cheesecake for dessert. NICE TOUCH ! We wil see you again in the future. Thanks Again for a wonderful evening R. Greco.

I titled it great because it is the perfect word for this restaurant. Food was excellent and the service was just as good. Very reasonable on there price

A mixed bag

By Charlotte |

My husband and I ate here for one of our meals celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. Steak and lobster are our favourites and S&W has a great reputation. A beautiful venue in the beautiful Venetian although a bit of a walk to get to the tables and I was very cold throughout the meal (presumably the air con and it was our first night in Vegas so not yet familiar with everything). The menu suited us and we ordered a New York strip (what they call sirloin on the US) and a Manhattan strip (a smaller sirloin). I disliked the Manhattan strip as it was smoked and not to my taste. The waiter asked for it to be grilled suggesting this may take the taste away which it did but then it cooked it more than medium-rare. He willingly changed this to the New York strip which I knew I'd never finish but was absolutely beautiful - one of the best steaks I've ever eaten (and we eat loads!). The lobster tail was beautiful too. Just an FYI the side dish portions are humongous and not for the faint-hearted, even sharing these they're like meals on their own; we had sauteed mushrooms and fried onions. The french fries are technically a side (ordered in addition to the main) but a 'normal' portion size. The service on the whole was good with the exception of our server forgetting a drink a few times but he was very apologetic about this and the second/third time he was also in the middle of sorting out my steak. He offered the drink on him plus another bottle of water however, we declined his kind gesture as this was unnecessary and he's only human. Another chap who served our drinks and cleared our plates said absolutely nothing to us - not even a thank you when we helped him to clear the table - and came off as rude. The restaurant sent us a HUGE layered chocolate cake for our anniversary which was a lovely touch. It was exceptionally moist and light so it could probably have been finished if we weren't so tired from travelling. I detected a hint of coconut I thought which was unique and delicious. The bill was extortionate but we ordered expensive dishes, in an expensive restaurant, in Vegas, so about on par really. We were happy to tip our main server, I'm sorry I didn't get your name.

Best steakhouse in Las Vegas!!!

By Melanie W |

Best steakhouse of anywhere by far! I go to all of the high end steakhouses and none come close to this. Other very highly rated steakhouses in Las Vegas are not even close. Yes it is a franchise and I’ve never dined at the Chicago location where I live but I will now!!! The coffee coco rub on the filet is a must!! The creamed corn is a must!! The angry shrimp are great but not a must have but still they’re really good, just too much to eat with the shrimp and the steak. Cannot wait to return!!

New Favorite Steakhouse

By LeeTrotman |

Incredible steaks and ribeye, coconut cake obviously made to order and tastes like no other. Staff very friendly and open table seating invites conversation from strangers, but in a very friendly way. Before we knew it, we had spent three hours there. Only one unisex bathroom available but it was never an issue.

Great service at the bar!!!

By BAHuston3 |

We sat at the bar for a light dinner, drinks and TNF (Thursday Night Football). We had an amazing meal and service. Ronan P. provided terrific and professional service. We had the split pea, soup, lamb chops, mashed potatoes, and a large shrimp cocktail. My wife loved the lamb chops!!! Thank you Ronan!!! Enjoy!!!

Birthday Dinner

By Memidemi |

Well it was dinner.... The waitor was really useless, the food was okay for the steak but don't order the salmon. The young adults and birthday boy enjoyed their meal. However those of us that knew better was not impressed. We had a party of ten but they could only accommodate 5 per table, so it was like we were not part of their party. They really need to make the guest feel more welcome.

Food: 10 out of 10; Service: 11 out of 10

By David Ebarle |

We were last here when they reopened along the Canal Shoppes in 2019. Last night, we had another outstanding experience and I'd be remiss not to comment. The Food was 10 out of 10 as expected; the Service 11 out of 10. A special occasion calls for a special cocktail so the SW 45th Anniversary Lux Manhattan was ordered. It arrived via a cart and our fabulous server fired up the smoker to create quite the aroma. We started with the roast beef popovers which can be described as "stuffed Yorkshire pudding." Almost too filling, but delicious nonetheless. My wife had twin petit filet mignon which she described as the best she's had. And I enjoyed the bone-in rib eye which causes one to salivate just by typing about it on Yelp. No room for desert, we finished with an Irish Coffee and espresso. But the acolades need to go to Alfredo our server, and his server assistant Collin. Smith Wo was busy last night, yet they took extraordinary care to ensure our visit was nothing short of exceptional. We'll see you next time we are in town (unless ya'll decide to expand West! - hint!).

Good steak dinner

By Shu K |

Came here with a friend as he loves this place. We ordered the tomahawk with some sides, and it was pretty darn good. I’m surprised that we put a really good dent in that giant steak, I still prefer The Top of the World over this one, but still worth the visit.

To avoid

By VALSUR |

More than 500 dollars at 4 for four steaks, fatty, overcooked... and difficult to digest! Very disappointed by this address… However, we are used to Parisian prices, Côte d'Azur, ski resort and more... abroad

Smith & Wollensky Wasn’t up to Par

By Troi M |

We were excited for dinner. The appetizers were awesome and tasty. The drinks were also very good. Our server was attentive and friendly. However, with different steak selections, many were left less pleased. It’s safe to say, no one finished eating their steak (too tough, not cooked to temp, dry, etc).

Fine dining, even in the bar section...

By TravelingFootballDad |

First time visitor - my son and I were looking for a good steak for our first evening back in Vegas. Smith and Wollensky did not disappoint. We sampled the menu - from the Blood Orange and Cinnamon Margarita to the Shellfish Tower to the grilled bacon -- all before the main courses. Whew, a lot of food, but excellent food. Can't recommend the grilled bacon enough - try it, you won't be disappointed. I always look to the a chop house's signature cut for my first visit - its how I will judge them - and I am proud of may own steak skills, so I can be a little bias - S&W's Signature Bone-in Rib Eye definitely hit the mark - the 28 day dry-age gave it a very complex flavor, unique in every bite, but consistently cooked perfectly throughout the steak (I am a medium-rare guy) - I think some of the uniqueness is the fire finished searing - you can taste the searing in every bite and it adds to the complex flavors of the meat itself. Grab yourself a twice-baked potato and you have the perfect meal compliment. Dessert? Sadly, we didn't make it that far - too much food to make the last course happen - next time - because there will be a next time. If not staying at the Venetian, it can be a little difficult to find the S&W but it is worth the effort - waitstaff, management, bar staff and of course the food - all excellent, 5 star... Make sure you take a peek at their wine cellars and even more impressive, the meat room, where you can see the large cuts of beef aging through the window. Yum, yum - can't wait for the return visit...

Best Birthday Party ever

By Lorielle H |

On Feb 19, 2022 I planned a 50th birthday party for my husband in Vegas. About 4 months before the party I started putting in inquires to places for large groups. Stacy Taylor the planner at Smith & Wolensky Las Vegas was so responsive. She sent me tons of information and over 4 months helped me to plan one of the best parties ever. I sent her so many questions and she responded so promptly to everything. We arrived in Vegas 2 days before the party and she met us at he party site along with Jessie Rodriguez our main server and went over all details. Day of the party Jessie was super awesome and went to Walgreens to get birthday candles and a case of Coca-cola because I liked Coke over Pepsi. Jessie's service throughout the party was outstanding. Since I've worked in the restaurant industry a while I had high expectations and he surpassed everything. The bartending staff the night of the party (we had open bar as part of our package) was so on point. I seriously am super impressed with everyone. I would highly recommend Smith & Wolensky for any gathering. The food was amazing as well from the beginning to end. Thank you again for everything.

Great steak house!

By Paul C |

We had a wonderful meal here! Bone in rib eye was amazing... over the top service .. must stop when Vegas.

Sigh….not good

By Bernoulli |

Ate here on a Sunday in June ‘24. We ordered off of the prix fix menu during restaurant week because proceeds contribute to local food banks. I had the steak entree and my wife had the chicken roulade entree. Her beet salad tasted as if they were from a can and the chicken was very salty and dry (overcooked). My steak was overdone, salty and did not taste fresh. The drinks we ordered arrived mid meal and our server Todd never did a “check back” to assure our satisfaction with the food. The manager was going table to table asking how things were.. and we informed him of our issues. He didn’t take our concerns seriously in my opinion and just moved on to the next table. We won’t be dining here again…..

Extraordinary Service ❤️ & Exceptional dining experience

By Cookie_milo |

Myself, my husband and a friend recently dined at Smith & Wollensky in Las Vegas, and I can confidently say it deserves a five-star+ rating for its amazing food and service. This fine dining restaurant, truly exceeded my expectations. We had the filet mignon and the ribeye as our main courses, both cooked to a delicious medium rare, offering a perfect balance of tenderness and flavor. The asparagus with hollandaise and the mushroom sautéed we chose as side dishes complemented the meals wonderfully. The portions were generous, ensuring a satisfying experience. A special mention and thank you goes to the gentleman at the bar (pictured attached), who was extraordinary and always smiling, adding a personal touch to our experience. Smith & Wollensky is undoubtedly must be proud of having such an amazing staff ❤️ This is one of the best fine dine restaurants in Vegas, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience.

Service is Top Tier!

By MsDee1983 |

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday dinner, while staying at the Palazzo. The service was really good. Our waiter suggested items on the menu and customized a cold seafood platter for our appetizer. I highly recommend this restaurant, for not only the food was delicious, but the service was also exceptional!

Great Service, Steak and the lobster not so much

By Lori L |

If you stick with the Steak and service I would have gave them a 5+, but the lobster tasted a little fish and tuff, would not order again. I did not say anything because I was plenty full on the steak so probably would not have finished all of it anyway. But the steak was definitely the best I ever had. Service very good.

RESTAURANT - LAS VEGAS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Probably the best steaks in Las Vegas! Make sure you book in advance 👍

If you like aged steaks, this is the place to go

By sandiablonde |

We love the setting of this place. Got a table right by the windows so that we could look out over the Grand Canal area and listen to the gondola singers. Started off with the beef tartare made right at your table. Perfectly made and presented and it tasted wonderful. Had the split pea soup next and it was good, though I have had better. It is a signature dish for this place and I was a little disappointed. My wife had the Halibut for dinner. Cooked perfectly, great flavor and presentation. Spot on. I had the aged bone-in Rib Eye and made it Oscar for good measure with the lump crab meat, sauce, and asparagus. Truly wonderful flavor to this steak. Cooked just as I like it and thick. The outside was seared and the inside pink and juicy. Waiter recommended a good wine to accompany. The only problem we had, and it isn't about the food at all, is that when we ate, the restaurant wasn't busy at all and yet they sat this couple right next to us and they were rather loud and drunk I think. Why not put them on the other side of the place so as not to crowd everyone together? It wasn't like they had the same waiter so what was the point? Anyway, would eat here again without hesitation.

This is the Real Deal: Great Prime Beef

By Bob M |

This Smith & Wollensky is located inside the Vientian Hotel near the Grand Canal Shoppes. I had the New York Strip and it was done just as I ordered it (Medium). My Wife had the Fliet and is was also spot on. Our dinners came out promptly and we felt the service as just fine. They advertise Prime Beef and in our opinion this was it. We plan to return.

Hanging wagyu tomahawk to die for

By Anna F |

We came to Smith & Wollensky based on recommendations from friends and were not disappointed. Jessie was our server and very knowledgeable about the wines and the steak. He had great recommendations and one of them was the hanging wagyu tomahawk ribeye. We shared it between my husband, our 10 year old and I and we still had leftovers. We ordered the carpaccio as a starter, it was melt in your mouth tender. We also ordered the onion rings as a side but we didn’t even get to eat them at the restaurant because we were stuffed. Jessie checked on us several times throughout the evening and always kept our drinks refilled. A perfect evening with perfect food!

Upscale restaurant

By Steve S |

Chain or otherwise, this was a great meal. From the seafood tower to the lobster tails and steaks, everyone had a great time. Great cocktails and service to match.

Awesome meal

By phvi2617 |

I came in for a nice solo dinner and wasn't disappointed. Both the filet and crispy potatoes were amazing, and service at the bar was excellent. Definitely an upscale spot, but it's worth the splurge for an awesome meal and experience.

Had a great time, servers were good

By yodude |

This was a good spot to eat food was good, not great but good enough that I would go back. Our waiter was really good always there to help, which I appreciate the most. When you go to nice places you want to be treated right. Check this place out if you around

Birthday celebration

By rosey b |

The atmosphere is very relaxing all though it was pretty loud on the second floor during the week. We could barely hold a conversation without yelling. My partner and I got the surf and turf for two sirloin steak and two lobster tails. They were both amazing. Best lobster I've had from a restaurant!! We shared sides and had a couple drinks. The price made sense with the exception of the noise. We had a wonderful time otherwise. My half was $300 with tip I firmly believe in the 30%

Exceptional

By dee2233 |

This was probably one of the best restaurant experiences I have ever had! The food was fabulous, the presentation was fabulous and the service was fantastic! We split two dinners and had sides. The steaks were great, they cut them up for us and we were able to share. One of the best restaurant experiences I have ever had! Kudos!

I had a fantastic meal tonight.

By ManhattanWilliam |

I had a fantastic meal tonight. Started with the Split Pea soup. Very tasty with a smoky pork flavor. Very good. But the standout was the filet mignon “sauce Diane” and the asparagus with Hollandaise. The meat was cooked perfectly and the morel brandy sauce was out of this world. Likewise the asparagus with Hollandaise was a perfect accompaniment. The bread was good if a little doughy. No doubt the meat was the star. 100% yummy.

A Must

By NCLocal |

Ask for Ichabod, and the rest will be history. Staff is great and the steaks are worth every penny. We enjoyed sitting in the bar area.

Always a good choice for a steakhouse at the Venetian

By Sergio1954 |

We have been here quite a few times, but this particular time was outstanding. It was a special birthday. We were greeted at the front by a nice hostess who wished my husband a happy birthday. We proceeded upstairs where the other hostess also said Happy Birthday. We were seated in a very nice booth promptly at our reservation time. It was not busy (Tuesday 6PM). Our server Matthew (Matt) was one of the best servers we have ever had. He also wished my husband a happy birthday and provided a small amuse bouche (small toast piece with burrata and a cherry tomato - was excellent). We ordered drinks and he was very helpful about what was available on the menu. We had the seafood tower for 2 - $88. (shrimp (4)- were huge, 2 lobster tails 6 clams, crab and an octopus salad. We are picky about octopus and it was one of the best we have had). It came with about 5 different sauces -which were fun to try. Matt "prepared" my husbands oysters (his first ever) and was just congenial throughout the meat. We had the filet and lobster for 2 ($165). We also ordered a side of truffle mac and cheese (came with a nice crust and MORE than enough for 2), and mushrooms (very flavorful - again MORE than enough for 2 or more). The lobster was done perfectly. The steak which we ordered medium was fine except the middle was almost rare. In the future, I think I would specify to make sure it is medium throughout. Since it was my husbands birthday, Matt presented us which a HUGE piece of chocolate cake (more than enough for 2 or more) with fresh shipped cream and another pot of whipped cream on the side. I have to say - it was the best chocolate cake I have ever had. It looked sinfully rich, but was very nice and light. Again - we have been here many times before - but this was just a great experience. We could not complain about anything. Kudo's to all of the staff - especially Matt!!!

Great steaks and excellent service

By Rovadia |

It was our second time dining at Smith & Wollensky Las Vegas and we loved it. Excellent service. Great steaks - the wagyu filet mignon was delicious. Gluten free options. Easy free parking at The Venetian. Would definitely return next time we're in Vegas.

Couldn’t have asked for more.

By Mike P |

My wife and I celebrated our wedding here with our friends and family. We’ve eaten at Smith and Wollensky’s before and had always been impressed but this time was even better. The food and drink were delicious and the service was exceptional. Our servers, Ian and Will, made us feel so welcome and we were left wanting for nothing - thank you! Stacy helped coordinate our event and made our lives so much easier. It was such a memorable day and we can’t wait to return.

Great Lunch Experience

By John W |

We had a great lunch experience. Our server team were very professional and accommodating. Our lunch choice of a tenderloin steak sandwich was excellent.

Expensive steak house

By LommaTraveller |

Really good quality on everything served. Large portions. Sharing is recommended as it is expensive. Very strange that we were asked to wait in bar twice although reservation was made. They were surely looking for upsell. High quality classic steak house. The shellfish plate recommended.

Birthday Surprise .... ?

By Jerome G |

This was our first visit to the new location of S&W since the old one on the Strip closed 4 or 5 years ago. The decor is much improved and had a better feel too. S&W was my wife's pick for lunch on her birthday and we did indicate the occasion as such on the reservation web site. Lunch was delicious as usual with the truffle macaroni and cheese being the star. When our meal was close to being over the server surprised my wife with a huge, piece of 10 layer chocolate cake - which neither of us ordered. We commented to each other how nice that was and profusely thanked the server. However, when our bill was delivered it included a $14 charge for the cake ! I don't know if this is the typical M.O. but it was unexpected.

Wonderful meal

By aetsai1 |

My NY Strip steak (served medium well) was cooked perfectly. Crab cake appetizer, and sautéed mushrooms were delicious. A nice treat for my wife and I.

Excellent steakhouse

By rayunited |

This is our fouth time dining at Smith and Wollensky. We made reservation and seated by balcony as requested. Excellent service. We orderd crab cake, tune taratre, dry aged bone-in ribeye, and creamy corn. All dishes were tasty and steak cooked perfectly. They comp the giant chocolate cake as our anniversry gift. Thank you Smith & Wollensky! We will be back.

Another amazing dining experience at Smith and Wollensky

By laceylouise |

My wife and I loved our dining experience here again. We started with the excellent complementary Bread and then the classic split pea soup and also the clam chowder. We had a seafood plateau and lobster tails. Everything was great, including the atmosphere and the service. Can’t wait to return!

Go to Smith & Wollensky for Filet Mignon

By Savannah6 |

Although it's a chain restaurant, we had never been to a Smith & Wollensky's before. This is Restaurant Week in Las Vegas so we tried the Restaurant Week menu. We had a really good time: the food was delicious, the service was excellent and since I ordered a 16 ounce strip steak, I was able to take some home. The only food I did not care for was the coconut cream cake. It was not at all to my liking, so Juan, our waiter, brought me a slice of chocolate cake instead. My husband's filet mignon was also extraordinary. We had eaten at two other Vegas steakhouses, and this filet had the very best taste. Don't know what the seasonings are, but they are terrific! The only negative of the evening was that the Venetian Hotel, where the restaurant is, had a special event. They want $30 to park your car during a special event even though 3 hours of parking is usually free to locals. We never heard what the Special Event was.

5 Stars and a 40% tip. It was that Good.

By TheBoujCrew |

Smith & Wollensky was the decided restaurant for dinner for a friend's bachelorette party before a night out of club crawling. I mentioned to the host that we needed to be somewhere else by 9:30pm. He completely respected my wishes to keep this a secret from the Bachelorette and guaranteed me that we could be out by 9pm. As we left, the host was also helpful in helping us grab a taxicab. BOTTOM LINE IS: The service was absolutely phenomenal. Every wait staff was very friendly, our bill was split with no questions asked, the waiter offered to take a group picture of us, politely reminded us that we should order soon so we get out of their in time, water was filled regularly, as well as being checked up on regularly, AND we received free shots for the party. The ribeyes were cooked perfectly - succulent and juicy. The truffle mac & cheese was to die for. The rosemary bread provided at the table was a great start to the meal.

Best Burger in Las Vegas

By Rick B |

While on vacation July 2021 with my family, we popped in to S&W for lunch. The server was very nice, provided excellent service and suggested the prime burger, stating it was the best in Las Vegas. With hesitancy (as most state they are the best if asked, LOL) two of us ordered burgers. In all honesty, they served THE BEST burger I've ever had. Highly recommend!!

Consistent Steakhouse

By CrocoLix |

Had dinner as a group upstairs in a private room, good overall experience, filet was cooked as ordered, service attentive, deserts awesome. For a pre fixed price menu very good, they did go slow in refilling your wine glass however, assuming this is part of the pre agreed price for the whole evening. Would return if again at the Venetian.

Great place, but didn’t quite hit it out the ballpark

By A L |

Awesome service, great ambiance and almost great food. 3 out of 4 steaks came to the table cooked more than requested, the other 1 came too rare. All very tasty and 4 guys too hungry to complain!

Disappointed on the 4th

By GuQu |

Had dinner last evening and was quite underwhelmed. Arrived 15 minutes early and advised seating would be at scheduled time. No problem we’ll have seat at bar and wait. O! no! Bar is full upstairs. Wait bar on ground floor totally empty, as in closed to service. This is Tuesday July 4th. REALLY PEOPLE. Once seated greeted quickly by staff and placed drink orders. We notice bar area upstairs was half empty; we were told 15 minutes earlier we could not go up to bar as it was full. 🙈 There was only one large group of about 10 at one table. The rest was 2 to 4 people at tables. We placed order for filets, each sharing a salad. Drinks came right out as did salad. Then we waited and waited for steaks…… ran out of water and had to ask for more. Finally showing up as we requested. Fries and onion rings had clearly sat under a heat lamp for a while. We debated to send back and did not as we knew it would be a while for return of each and steaks would then be cold. Steaks were tasty but very pricey. We both agreed, as seasoned red meat lovers, we have had better steaks purchased from Costco and prepared on our home grill.

Romantic dinner

By Jeanne L |

My first experience was a great one. Our waiter was awesome! Great martinis and the surf and turf for two was a great choice. Truffle fries were a nice addition. Everything cooked to perfection! We were not rushed and able to take in the vibe of the restaurant and enjoy a lovely couples dinner.

Steak!

By BackPacker801817 |

Easy location, nice atmosphere, and good service. Food and drink were excellent! In a city with many choices, this is a solid one, especially if staying on the Strip.

So delish!

By Natalie Woodward |

This was our first visit to Smith & Wollensky, and we'll definitely go back. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Very clean. Comfy seating. Good wine selection. We ordered the tomahawk steak with table-side charing. Very cool presentation and very good flavor! Cheesecake was also good.

Fantastic

By Aussiejack1 |

We had a wonderful early dinner before a show. The food and drinks were second to none. The steaks cooked perfectly and the sides were delicious. The service was also impeccable. Can’t wait to get back

Back again ....

By Jerome G |

We have been coming to Vegas for 15 years and except for the years they were shut down we have dined at S&W probably once a year. The menu has changed somewhat over the years but the highlight for us has always been the truffled mac and cheese. It is always soooo good, rich and filling. I have been able to "almost" duplicate it at home, but there is nothing like the original. Oh, by the way, they do serve steaks too (LOL). Pick anyone, you can't go wrong. We tried their tomato and onion salad for the first time, it was great.

So glad the S&W reopened just in time for WOC. Took clients out to dinner here and enjoyed every step of the dining experience. Service was wonderful, food was outstanding. Great atmosphere. A must go culinary experience

Lovely atmosphere, but a couple of niggles, so more a 4.4.

By MPP2703 |

My Queen has wanted to visit this establishment many times on our previous LV visits. So we booked, which seemed essential, although when we arrived plenty of empty tables. Shown to our table, which was upstairs. Lovely setting and good spaces between the numerous tables. I had a bootle of Modelo, $9, my Queen her usual vino, $16. Now, and true, I am not a steak fan, my Queen is. So I had a Iceburg wedge salad, OK, but pricey at $14. Now steak fans will know that this place is expensive, so when my wife ordered her 10oz Fillet at $59 and fries at $9, she expected the steak cooked to her liking. Unfortunately it was overcooked. Now we are Brits, so we don't send food back, plus there was quite a wait for our food. So the niggles were the overcooked steak, the wait and the cost. Food is good, but it is overpriced in my mind. However I can still recommend for meat lovers.

Waste of a meal in Vegas

By Mike S |

Service was fine but slow, we were randomly sat downstairs in the bar area pretty much on our own. It'd have been more atmospheric to get take out and sit on a bench eating. Terrible. Sorry to say, but the food was abysmal. We both had the filet mignon which was, inexplicably, fatty, and the sides were poor. There's absolutely no chance of us returning to any Smith & Wollensky anywhere in the world based on our experience in Vegas.

Glad we came!

By David S |

Located in the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian, Smith and Wollensky doesn’t offer the great views of some other Vegas steak houses, but we enjoyed our anniversary dinner there. Our table on the second floor overlooked the end of the indoor gondola canal; not quite the view of the Bellagio Fountain that you’d get at Prime, or the stunning views of Vegas that you experience at Top of the World at the Strat. Views aside, the staff and our food were very good. I think every staff member we interacted with wished us “Happy Anniversary,” a level of attention to detail we’ve experienced only at Del Friscos among our Vegas anniversary sites. We went for the regular filet rather than one of the wagu options and we were both pleased with the way they were prepared. The sides were much larger than I expected and neither of us could finish the whipped potatoes or the crispy yukon potatoes. My only issue with the menu is that Smith and Wollensky does not offer a baked potato option. We tried only one starter, the burrata salad, and it was very good. If you’re a big bread person like I am, I don’t believe you’ll enjoy the house rolls. They were kind enough to give us a complimentary chocolate cake for our anniversary. A word of caution: no individual should try to eat this alone; it’s HUGE, and very good. Overall, they have many dessert options that looked great. Had we not been given the chocolate cake, I’d have gone straight for the S’mores sundae. As you would expect, the wine list was rather long- but the “by the glass” options weren’t quite as varied. My wife loves a good Reisling and only one choice was available by the glass. It was very good though. I tried one of their featured cocktails, a vodka/apple cider drink that I found to be just so-so. As mentioned, the wait staff was excellent. Service is not an issue. Will we return for a future anniversary dinner? Maybe. We stayed at the Venetian, so the location was great for us and I enjoyed our dinner this year more than I did at previous Venetian anniversaries at Delmonico’s and Bouchon. But the lack of a view combined with the fact that there was nothing the really sets Smith and Wollensky apart means that we’re more likely to dine elsewhere for next year’s anniversary dinner.

Melt in your mouth steaks!

By tr21 |

Service - 5 Stars * staff can make or break a dining experience and our server was fun, engaging, and attentive. Steaks - 5 Stars * I opted for a small New York with red wine Demi glacé amd accompanied with buttery Yukon potatoes, perfectly cooked asparagus. I ordered my steak medium rare and YES! It melted in my mouth and was absolutely perfect. My gentleman friend had the split pea soup and the boneless New York. Wow on all of it. The split pea soup was rich yet delicate, and balanced with a few twists of black pepper. He ordered his steak well done - it was decent. I was expecting a blacked steak, but it was pleasantly warmed red! Delicious and a must try!

Best Steakhouse in Vegas

By Consumer992 |

Attended for a birthday dinner (22 people!) and we were seated upstairs in a side room overlooking the gondola. It was perfect. Lots of privacy and still the S&W ambiance. Had the seafood tower to start and it was perfect. The best oysters I’ve had outside of Vancouver. Followed by tomahawk steaks that were blow-torch seared in the room along with all of the sides. The mashed potatoes were unbelievable. Great evening

Worst service ever

By Linda A |

So, my husband and I chose to dine here while in Vegas for his 60th birthday. With COVID restrictions, everything was quiet in the restaurant with patrons well-spaced and, overall, seemed like a perfect romantic site for a date night. However, when I ordered the sea bass, I asked that it be brought w/o any sauces or spices because I was still recovering from food poisioning from the day before. The waiter assured me this would not be a problem. However, when the food arrived, it was clearly heavily flavored, as apparent from the coloring of the fish. While my husband began eating his steak, I looked around for the waiter to ask about the fish. We made eye contact, he walked over to the table, and stated, "Oh, yeah, so the fish is already marinated. You'll be fine." He then walked off. While I would have promptly complained to management during a normal night out, I didn't want to ruin my husband's meal so I cut around the fish and tried to eat some of the interior which was obviously less marinated. The rudeness from this individual was simpy unbelievable. We always stay at the Venetian when we come to Vegas...but we will not be back to S&W.

Wonderful meal!

By Charles1019 |

We ate lunch here the afternoon before and decided to take our large team out to dinner. They did not disappoint. It was quite a show. They had been closed for quite a while when they moved locations and glad they are at the Venetian! I started off with a wedge salad. It was very good, not too big and lovely presentation. We sharped a couple orders of Angry Shrimp and large thick slabs of grilled bacon. Loved both but really liked the bacon! Bacon! For our main course we had Snake River Farms Swinging Tomohawk 44oz Ribeye and Snake River Farms Whole Roasted 64oz Porterhouse! They finished cooking them table side by torch. Very cool to watch. Everyones favorite was the Ribeye! Both were excellent! They come with potatoes which are drenched in the drippings as they finish the steaks. Our sides were Mac & Cheese, thick and tasty, charred cauliflower and grilled asparagus. Yum, yum, yum! We finished with their chocolate cake which was huge and super good! We actually had one left because we could not finish the first because of how much we ate so I got to take it back to my room for anther night. We also had their apple pie with ice cream. That got finished on both ends of the table. The service was excellent throughout and drinks were neve less than half full. Looks like next year we will be having our sales meeting here. Looking forward to that!

Treating my husband to a fabulous steak dinner

By Joanne B |

Our waiter Jesse was simply wonderful! Pleasant, courteous and efficient! Our meal was served in a timely manner. The surf and turf-- steak cooked to perfection and the lobster ahh just perfect! My crab cake melted in your mouth. Jesse was helpful with our side dishes we chose and he was correct!! The aspargus with Holandaise sauce -- so good and the Yukon potatoes....Jesse was correct --they were beyond delicious. We were too full for dessert but decided on a cup of coffee. I have to say the expresso for my husband that Jesse made was one of the best that he has had in a long time and my coffee...was the best that I have had here in Vegas. We will return when we visit Vegas again. Thank you Jesse for a great dining experience. You rock:)

Great Vegas Steak!

By ruralgourmet |

Las Vegas Baby! Jesse Romero was the greatest waiter. Attentive informative happy guy. Started with seafood tower with added dozen oysters. Everything beautifully fresh ice cold and presented nicely. The mignonette was perfect. The famous Wollensky salad, just a great salad. The tomahawk hanging ribeye for two, with roasted potatoes, cooked perfectly presented and cut tableside. Best meal we've had in Vegas! Slowly getting back to what normal is these days. Everyone masked and tables social distanced. Jesse had his hands full too, but he's simply a seasoned server because we never felt anything but perfect service.

Good Sister Steakhouse

By J Steiner |

I lived in NYC for many years and the Smith & Wollensky on 49th is an institution. The one in Las Vegas is good as well but the decor is more casual and the service is also more casual. Bone-in ribeye is my go to however my go to in NYC was also the hash browns with pastrami which Las Vegas did not have at the time I dined there. It reminded me of my time in NYC.

Too many other options to pick this place!!

By love2travelKent |

We booked this expecting a first class steak restaurant but it seriously fell short of that. The service wasn't the best, took a while to get drinks etc, the starters we had were pre-prepared and you could tell they had been heated up, they were ok nothing spectacular. Where it really went wrong for me was the sides, we ordered a steak each, which was lovely to be honest but then the restaurant doesn't make the piece of meat, and then 4 sides, hassleback potatoes - dry and tasteless, creamed spinach - watery and just not nice, fries - soggy and onion rings - powdery! Overall it just was not what I would consider a top quality steakhouse that for the price it should be!

Amazing food, spectacular service from Josh

By jonnius |

Whenever I'm in Las Vegas, I look forward to a visit to S&W. The steak is always prepared perfectly and the sides are heavenly. This was by far my favourite visit and it's all thanks to our server, Josh. He was so knowledgeable about wine pairings and made the right side dish recommendations.
