The chedder fries are a must. Great burgers and cold beer. Yum!

OMG. I have eaten at Snuffers for years. They have the best cheese fries on the planet. Their cheeseburgers are out of this world and they will cook them medium rare too. All served on a poppy seed bun and you've got a winner. The wait staff is super friendly, great food, decent prices. Run to this place. I'll be there.

This isn't fancy, but you're guaranteed a good burger and some seriously fabulous cheese fries. Hadn't been back since the late 80's and it didn't disappoint. Went with two teenage hamburger experts and they loved it. Service is super casual and friendly, and the happy hour margaritas were good!

In Dallas for a concert, we wanted a nearby restaurant to eat at before the show. Snuffers was the BEST. It was our first time visiting, so our waitress, Lindsey, was perfect in offering suggestions and watching out for us. Cheese fries - I could have eaten a bucket of them. Tried the classic burger, and it was all a hamburger should be. Snuffer's will certainly be my choice when we're in this part of Dallas again.

A friend suggested we try Snuffers on our recent visit to Dallas and boy am I glad we did! The guacamole bacon burger was fantastic! Even my daughter raved about how delicious her plain old cheeseburger was. The staff was exceptionally friendly. Our waitress was very knowledgeable regarding the craft beer on tap suggesting a couple of great ones to try. And the cheese fries! OH MY!! Simply delicious. We ordered a small which was more than enough for my 12 year old and me to enjoy. So glad we made it out to Snuffer's. We'll be back next time we're in Dallas!

This place serves a variety of beer, awesome burgers and mountains of fries! Good value for your money! It’s a clean, comfortable sports bar with a super friendly waitstaff. We will definitely return!

I first discovered Snuffer's in October 2011, during a ten-day trip to visit one of my friends who had just recently gotten married and moved to Dallas. She was absolutely raving about this place called "Snuffer's" and said that they had cheese fries to die for! Well, both of us being from Wisconsin - I couldn't resist the temptation to go there and try them out for myself. I was pleasantly surprised! Their cheese fries are SO delicious! They're not your run-of-the-mill cheese fries that you find at most chain diners - they have layers of cheese between seasoned, hot, french fries. A year later and I'm still just absolutely nuts for Snuffer's cheese fries! If you're a burger person I definitely recommend the burger with the cheese fries on it! DELICIOUS! It's a "must-eat" every time I find myself in Dallas - SO GOOD!

I'm not a big fan of hamburgers, but I always enjoy a Snuffers burger. They have great specialty burgers - a spicy one and another one with bleu cheese. Lunch special is a great deal. Kids love the thick, creamy shakes.

Haven't been to a snuffers in years so we were eager to visit again. Love how they have local beers on tap. Ordered queso and salsa to start and it did not disappoint. We tried the mini cheeseburgers (with bacon) that come with fries and the fried jalapeño burger. Both were very tasty. The three miniburgers are made with thin patties, but are full of flavor. According to our waiter the regular burgers come medium rare so we requested our fried jalapeño burger medium. It was more on the rare side, but due to the flavor and the other tasty ingredients we were able to look past this. The amount of fried jalapeños was alittle disappointing though. We only saw very few, but the flavor was still there at least. Our waiter was very attentive...maybe too much so for our personalities, but I'm not going to fault him for it! He was eager to offer suggestions and checked in frequently. We would definitely go back to visit.

I have been going to Snuffers since 1978. Even though a diffrent company owns Snuffers the food is good but not as good as in the past! The burgers and the cheddar fries are what to go for even though the company has reduced the size of the burger!

fried pickles - yummy

Stopped in here on the way out of town. I worked at the original in the late 80s. Still has above average service, food was like I remembered, spectacular. The fries, loaded with xtra ranch are sure to make you hit the gym an extra hour. Loved the whole experience. So glad I could share it with my son who is now a huge fan.

best cheese fries!

We always eat at sniffers and we always have the same thing. They have this wonderful mushroom Swiss turkey burger and we also order the cheddar dries, of course. Normally though, we go at lunch and sit outside. We were there on 10/27 and it was just too chilly to air outside. So we chose a table inside that looked to be a quiet spot. Wrong! A table of four 12 year old boys and their mom set next to us and they were extremely obnoxious. In other words just being boys. So, we altered our plans slightly again and ordered beer to go with our burger and had a wonderful time! This place is so great.

First off, I have to say that this review is a bit personal. I was a frequent denizen of the original Snuffer's (same location) back when its next-door neighbor the Granada was still a repertory film stronghold that showed a nightly triple feature for one dirt-cheap price. (Yep, that's how long ago it was.) Back then, the restaurant was cave-like and ultra-cool, with super-greasy fries and even sloppier burgers. Now, in its current bright-and-shiny incarnation, it may be more like a slightly funkier version of Chili's, but I still can't comprehend how 30-ish percent of the reviewing populace considers it less than excellent. Plus, it's ranked 330th in the Dallas TripAdvisor restaurant rankings?! Oh well, you can't account for taste buds. These guys still make some kick-fanny fries and burgers, even if they're slightly smaller and less sloppy and served in a brighter, shinier location. And the fried mushrooms with ranch or horseradish were and remain simply unparalleled in my experience. It's highly doubtful that any of the 329 restaurants ahead of Snuffer's in the rankings could improve on 'em. Last note, also personal: I introduced my kids to Snuffer's on a recent trip, and they begged to go TWICE -- even with 329 purportedly better choices before them. We here in Scottsdale, Arizona, don't think you know what you have there, Dallas, Texas.

Snuffer's is a local chain in the Dallas / Ft Worth area. The Burgers here are very good, but Fully Loaded Cheese Fries are legandary. They have been featured on several "Best of" lists. Nothing fancy, but great food.

Stopped by on a sunny Saturday afternoon with the family and sat on the patio for lunch. Great neighborhood atmosphere. Started off with cheese fries - fresh cut potatoes fried and topped for us with melted "real" cheddar, bacon, chives, and jalapenos. We went with the medium, but the large would have been thoroughly devoured too, they were that good. We took a picture of the empty basket of fries and sent it to a friend that has been away from Dallas for at least 15 years. We asked her if she could tell where we were and within 2 minutes she answered Snuffers! These fries are memorable! Great burgers, chicken sandwiches, potato soup, and the chicken-fried steak was excellent. If you haven't been to Snuffers, check them out.

Went late on Friday night- my burger was good. The other members of my party really enjoyed the cheese fries and fried mushrooms. Very personable waitstaff.

Used to frequent this place years ago in college. Ordered chicken sandwich- expecting the usually juicy balsamic marinated chicken loaded with finely chopped lettuce and onion. Instead, could not taste balsamic at all. Dry chicken that did not even leave a mark on the bun. A few bits of lettuce and 5 bits of onion. Cheese fries were dry too- seems like different cheese- not the gooey goodness of yesteryear. Too bad.

We're not talking cheesy goop out of a can, folks, we're talking realy cheddar melted over some very greasy fries. Good stuff! A lower-Greenville classic burger restaurant for over 30 years with good salads too.

Try to go whenever we are in Dallas. Even though not the original owners, the product is still good. Surprised not very crowded, but was a Tuesday evening. Cheese fries, while not the healthiest thing on the planet, are must orders.

They have the best cheesefries ever made!!!!! I go to Snuffer's every time I go to Dallas just for the Cheesfries. All of their food is good, but their cheesefries are out of this world!!!!

I visited this place for my son's bday because he loves a good hamburger. So we brought presents with us to out table. So it was obvious that we were celebrating. We visited on a Thursday evening and the place was not packed. It was good to see the place had been recently renovated. Our burgers were cooked as we asked and chedar fries were good. However, our waitress did not even aknowledge my son"s bday at all, even when some presents were at the table. In fact her face showed exhaustion/ boredom. All she had to do was smile or at least showing a minimum of polliteness she took forever to get our drinks and of course the general manager never showed up. It was a bad experience with service the food was ok.

The original Snuffer's opened when I was in high school and I remember it as being really great, so I was happy to make a pilgrimage 35 years later. Snuffer's was originally touted for its fried mushrooms, and, while, my dietary tolerance has matured to a point where I'm not big on fried food, I was in the mood for a Sunday night cheeseburger and Snuffer's didn't disappoint. I asked for my burger to be cooked medium rare, and by George, it actually came out medium rare. My friend said his martini was passable. For a Greenville Avenue joint, there was plenty of parking and ample outside seating with some semblance of climate control. The wait staff was friendly. If you're looking for pub food, you could do a lot worse than Snuffer's.

best cheddar fries ever, great burgers and salads too, can get loud, sometimes filled with undisciplined children, so if that bothers you go at off times beacuse it's worth it

Stick with those two and you can't go far wrong. Maybe throw in a side order of fries and mushrooms if you're really hungry. Great college restaurant, and cheap as chips! A must visit straight from the airport.

We had tickets to Best Coast concert on June 24. We had been earlier shopping at Buffalo Exchange and found out the theater was on the same street, so we decided to eat here before the concert. Food was really good and reasonably priced. Didn't have a big menu, but that's ok, I like that. I don't like to go into a restaurant with so many choices nothing sounds good. I ordered a club sandwich, but I was told I couldn't get it on wheat it only came on Texas Toast. Not sure why they couldn't switch the bread, but oh well, it was still good. My daughter got the chicken strips. I didn't try them but she said they were okay. They do ask you to do a survey to get free chips on your next visit, but I don't live in the area. I did the survey, but I won't get to get my free chips.

Fried mushrooms, Ive never had them anywhere else this darn good. They are truely great. Love the long islands here too. Burgers are great great great here. I normally get the marinated chicken but its never ever hot. i cant wrap my mind around it.

Since we don't have Snuffers in Austin, we can't wait to eat here when we are in Dallas. The cheese fries (get them all the way) are my very favorite. Burgers are big, so I always share one with my husband. We have been coming to this location for over 25 years and it is always a highlight for when we visit Dallas.

Snuffer's in Dallas, TX is the most amazing burger, cheddar fries, and spicy battered chicken stips known to man. These dishes are heaven on earth, but also very fattening. I have been going to the original Greenville Avenue locations since 1982 and now there are many additional locations for us true blue fans of the burgers and cheddar fries to go to and my husband and I go there often. I love some of the cheddar fries and if they packaged the seasoing mix like the burger house, it would fly out the door. It is to die for. The other locactions offer us additional opportunities through work and home to visit and we take advantage of those locations, but the originial Greenvile location is still the best and most nostalgic for me. Preston Center is also awesome as are all other locations. Come visit and enjoy the best burger on earth and cheddar fries or chicken strips. Many other items, I just can't get past our favorites!! Enjoy!!!!

We went to Snuffers on Friday October 7th for dinner with the family. We got seated right away and our waitress was great. She was very attentive and had lots of good suggestions. We started with the Cheddar Fries with Bacon, Chives, and Jalapeños and they were delicious. Most of us had burgers that were great and my wife had the chicken sandwich that was marinated in a teriyaki and pineapple sauce that she enjoyed completely. The margaritas were good as well and overall it was a very enjoyable night. If you're in the mood for a good burger/sandwich and some cheese fries this would be a good choice.

we loved the loaded fries! Well worth the stop on the way to a girl's weekend in Dallas! We will return when in the area! Loved the burger with those loaded fries! See you soon!

Great service! We ate here before a concert at The Granada Theater next door. The menu had a wide selection and the food was fantastic. I really liked it. I highly recommend using their valet parking which is gratuity based. Self parking can be very tricky and chaotic in this area along Greenville Ave.

Thats his favorite place to eat. He's 8 years old. They serve portions in quantities and you'll get your moneys worth. Good cheese fries and salads. Husband likes burgers. I don't care for the seating because if more than 6 people are going you'll have to eat at a seperate tablle.

Too much fried and too much grease for me. Last time I went, it just didn't taste good.

This place was a Dallas landmark for years and it's back with all your favorite items. Like cheese fries. Did I mention cheese fries? If you leave here without cheese fries, it'd be like going to Paris and not seeing the Eiffel Tower. Savvy?

Great fried mushrooms! We often eat at the one in Highland Village and think the food is better at that location.

There are lots of gourmet burgers to be found in Dallas, but this is the standard. Have your heart Dr. on speed dial and try the cheese fries.

The Original Snuffers still has the best cheese fries. Discovered them 20 years ago and they are still the best. Looking forward to my next trip. Will consist of cheese fries and beer.

We go there often. The location on Midway recently moved to Beltline around the corner. Food is still the same. A great burger and get the Cheese fries. Yum.

Great burgers, great strawberry margaritas and ooey, gooey, cardiac on a plate cheese fries!!!!

Nothing fancy, but really great burgers with cheese topped, hand cut fresh fries. This was our first trip to one of these and only wish that we lived here.

Snuffer's has been in Dallas for a very long time...and is known for its hamburgers and fries. There are a few restaurants in this chain, but the one on lower Greenville Ave. is the oldest--remodeled a few years ago and always packed.

I picked up some burgers to go from the Greenville location. The burgers had good quality meat and fresh lettuce, tomato and onion. They are made on a poppy seed bun. The burgers were so good I wished I had ordered a 1/2 lb. instead of the 1/4 lb. The fries were a little greasy for my taste, but they had great flavor and appear to be hand-cut potatoes. The service was very good and the price was fair. They got our order exactly right. This was the first time I have come to Snuffer's in years, but it hasn't changed a bit and is still very good. We will definitely return!

Best is Texas by a Texas mile! The burgers are good, the club sandwich is good, the chicken is nicely fried. But the fries.....go for the fries if nothing else. And make sure they are loaded. Since they remodeled, the Greenville Ave location is my absolute favorite. Great wait staff!

The hype is true about the cheese fries they speak of. They are great. We had a large plate with jalapeños, bacon and chives. So good. Had the Fried Jalapeño Cheddar Burger which was pretty good. Drinks were good too.

great burgers, great cheese fries, need I say more?! This spot is perfect for game watching or a nice lunch after a long night out the day before. Service is very good.

Did I mention these are great Cheese Fries? Nothing, seriously, compares anywhere. Not just in Dallas. But in the entire U S of A. Everything else is good. Burgers, chicken sandwiches, etc.... Oh and by the way, the cheese fries are really, really good.

This place has great hamburgers and their loaded fries are finger licking good! It is a nice laid back place and I have no complaints on their staff. It is a must. I hear the location on lower Greenville is haunted and there have been sightings.....

Snuffer's ahs always been a favorite of my family and we planned to eat there on Sunday on Dallas visit. Alas, we were sad to see that it has been leveled but glad to see that a new Snuffers is coming soon to the same location.

was staying in area and new how area is before the fireworks so we went early(4 pm) fod was great and cheese fries are good as always. prices are very reasonable and it's easy to see why snuffers has lasted this long. good job

Must try their chili fries.

Includes indoor and outdoor seating. Great burgers. Known for their loaded cheese fries, bacon, jalapeños, cheese, ranch dressing. A cholesterol nightmare, only par take once a qtr:). Great venue to watch football games. Casual atmosphere.

I first fell in love with Snuffers for the cheese fries. In the last few years the fries are hit and miss. sometimes greasy and mushy sometimes excellent. there does not seem to be any rhyme or reason for the difference. The burgers are always good. I prefer the blu-cheese bacon burger.

Went for good time and had a great time with family and friends. Food was good , but hamburger was great tasting it's good stop for food and a beer

This is a Lower Greenville staple that's better than the original at the same location (after a sale, a rebuild, and some legal wrangling). The cheese fries here are the best. Period. Order them loaded with extra Ranch on the side. And if your party is three or more, go large. Otherwise the fork fighting at the table gets ugly. The patio is much nicer than the original, as is the bar, and you have a front row seat to Greenville Ave. Burgers are huge and delicious.

I started going to Snuffers when I went to SMU many moons ago and it is still as popular as ever. Greenville the original one which has been added on to but there are now several other locations as well. I like going to Greenville as my memories there!! I try to get there on every Dallas visit and introduced it to my son growing up. Then he went to SMU and kept the family tradition going! Nothing like their cheese fries and burgers to satisfy that craving every now and then!! Salads and nachos favorites too!! Just laid back and fun!!

Loaded cheese fries...need I say more?? Fun place to hang out with friends, have some drinks and get some bad-for-you but oh-so-good grub!

It's really a burger joint. So nothing over-the-top. If you haven't been before, get the cheese fries. Yum! And order the burgers a little more done than you normally do--they are very red inside.

Came here for dinner while visiting a colleague from within our business. Had dinner and drinks. The Atmosphere was great, the outside seating was quite pleasant with decent outside temperatures. The food was really good as well as the drinks and the suggestions from out server. Oh and the cheese fries are really great too.

We have been to Snuffer's many times and always enjoy their fantasic hamburgers!

I have always bragged about the cheese fries and they continue to be the best. But today i tried the Shiner Burger. Supposedly made with the beer. Don't bother. Tasteless, soggy, and not near the quality expected from a Snuffer's. the service was excellent. I will stick with the basic burgers from now on.

The food was the same as our memories from 20 years ago. Definitely have to try the cheese fries. Sports on the TVs. friendly service.

Stopped in for a quick bite before the show at Granada Theater over the Labor Day weekend. They were packed & busy, but we found a table on the patio & were greeted quickly by a server. We ordered drinks & then our meal & it all came very fast. It was hot & yummy. We will be back!

Only the name and the beer has remained the same. This has been a family favorite for many years. Several dishes were exceptional: Fried Mushrooms, Cheese Fries, Burgers (choice of size), and others, In a recent visit at the Addison store, the breading was a mush under the mushrooms, Fries on top and a glob of probably cheese at the bottom. Burgers are available in one size only. Two people in our party had Hot Dogs; two salty to eat,

Okay, I have driven past this place for years, but never stopped to eat here. For some strange reason, I had it in my mind as a seafood restaurant. I was talking a client to lunch, and he recommended them. I don't recall having a burger, in Dallas area, that has been any better. If you are in the mood for a burger, they've got your number. Several to choose from, and your choice of doneness. Absolutely Delicious! Don't forget to ask about lunch specials. You can typically eat a lunch special here, for about the same price as a fast food chain. And, believe me, a thousand times the taste!! Highly recommend!

Snuffer's has been around since I was in college. Used to frequent the original location down on lower Greenville Ave. But today, no matter which location you go to, you will get the same great meal. They are known for their yummy cheese fries, but have a signature Snuffer's burger or the chicken salad is awesome, too.

If you are new to Dallas or just visiting let me be the first to invite you to one of the best meals you will ever eat! Everything on the menu is great and for the purest, the Snuffer's burger is stellar however the Green Chili Cheeseburger is one that hits all cylinders and a loaded order of Cheddar Fries will make just about any problem you are facing go away....😄

This is the third Snuffer's I have been too. It has been delicous every time I have gone. Their cheese fries are great. The only thing I didn't like about this location is that I wasn't sure if it was a seat yourself deal or we needed to wait. It took awhile for someone to finally direct us.

A bit pricey, as fries are extra, but well worth it. YUMMY across the board, cheddar fries are to die for, and service is good! If you are a burger lover, you must try this out.

Weve been eating here for about 6 years. The chicken sandwich is one that will drip down your arms if you're not carefully! The loaded cheese fries are always a hit. I would have rated this higher, but the location on Midway Road is very loud. So loud, we often cut our visit short. We've mentioned this several times to the manager, but it's still the same.

If you're looking for burgers and fries, Snuffer's is hard to beat. It's a heart attack on a plate, but their cheese fries are the best in the world! I used to visit this place a few nights a week when I was in grad school back in the day. It hasn't changed a bit, and I hope it never does!

The snuffer burger was standard fair when I was in college at SMU. I've been all over the United States and have found some close but none better. I have to stop at snuffer's any time I am in town. When its been too long, I even think about reasons to travel to Dallas so that I can have an excuse to visit Snuffer's. The cheese fries are pretty good too.

We were in town from Memphis. We were getting some sweets from Carlo's bakery across the street. We really wanted a good burger for lunch. We had heard this place was good from one of our daughters friends. It didn't disappoint. The fried pickles and mushrooms were good. The cheese fries were awesome and the burgers were terrific. Great service as well. I would highly recommend this place for a quick and yummy lunch!

I was not impressed with Snuffers. I used to love going here when I was younger, but the past few times have been really disappointing. The burgers were super greasy and the fries tasted dirty.

It's been 20 years since I've had a hamburger at Snuffers and I was amazed to find, they still rock.

After eating at Aw Shucks across the street from Snuffer's we decided to try the place out. We stopped by on Sunday evening before church, our server was a really nice guy named Brandon. We started our meal off with the infamous "Smoothered Cheddar Cheese Fries". Delicious. My husband and son both ordered the "Double Cheeseburger" and I ordered the "Grilled Chicken Salad". The burgers were humongous and tasted pretty good but was dry to me. The chicken salad I ordered was awful, the chicken was super dry and it was just iceberg lettuce and dry chicken. I immediately sent the salad back and decided to have a glass of wine. My husband ask me did I want to go across the street to "Aw Shucks" and order something but instead I opted to head to church. I won't be returning to Snuffer's.

This was our first trip to this spot but our friends are regulars. Absolutely terrific burgers and ordering the cheese fries is a must. The burgers are huge...1/2 lb ...but you can order them in 1/4 lb size, which is what I did and it was still plenty. Service is quick and efficient and the prices are right.

My family has a long history with Snuffer's, and although we no longer live in Dallas, we have yet to find better loaded cheese fries, and always stop by when in town. It's all fabulous. GO have yourself some Snuffer's!!!!!

Another tried and true Dallas staple - you can count on a flawless burger and the cheese fries are perfection! Great salads if you aren't a burger person!

The patty melt is their burger of the month, however I found it to be extremely dry, sour dough bread was crumbling apart and there wasn't any sauce of any kind on it. Every patty melt I've ever eaten had a thousand island type sauce on it. French fries were good. Service was okay. I won't go back to this location.

Went to Snuffers during my college days and can always count on them for a high qualilty burger with poppy seed roll and some of the best cheese fries in town !

Go, get the cheese fries (loaded, natch) and just enjoy! Parking can be a little tight on the weekends and service is hit-or-miss, but I'm telling you its worth the trip for the cheese fries! Oh, and ask the waitresses about the haunting stories of this older Dallas site!

So, first of all, there's a cheddar fry thing going on here that you've probably heard about. Good, great, grand, wonderful. Brett (the single best server I've ever had) clued me into a Swiss-Cheddar BLEND "situation" (as she put it). You need to do this. I don't know who you are, but trust Brett. I do. I trust her with anything after this. Burgers are great and everything. Love the beer selection. I come here once a week--and I look for Brett when I'm here, you should too. Love this place.

Tried Dr. Pepper infused bbq burger. OMG. It's a must try burger! Others are good, this was the best!!

Didn't 'hate it', but it was over-hyped and my expectations were high. I didn't even like the cheese fries (were not hot when I got them.) service was not very good either. Maybe just a bad day for the old dfw fave.

Used to go there as a student at SMU decades ago...the building has changed but the atmosphere is still very vibrant....Great burgers, though smaller than they used to be all those years ago....The Cheese Fries are still the best ever...Took my colleagues there and they loved it.

I love their burgers! The cheese fries are a must. I always get the bleu cheese burger, so tasty! Definitely a place to go if you're craving a burger.

Snuffer's on Lower Greenville has the best cheese fries you will ever eat. They are hand-cut fries coated with a thick layer of cheddar cheese and somehow baked in a way that cheese the cheese all through the entire dish. These aren't normal fries with just some cheese sauce goop pumped onto the top. These are amazing. You can get them with bacon, chives, and jalapenos, but they are amazing as is. Oh yeah, the burgers are good too.

My husband and went to Snuffers after seeing it on TV show called “Cheese Paradise “on the Travel Network. The episode had a countdown of the best restaurant serving dishes with cheese and since Snuffers was in Dallas we had to go try it. The cheddar cheese fries were just as good as the show advertised. My husband and I had a bacon cheeseburger and we shared the fries. I have to say, everything was delicious! I loved the burger the meat was cooked perfectly it was moist and flavorful and the bun was not heavy and thick like I expected. The atmosphere is very busy and crowded but I had no problem with that it was on a Saturday.

Loaded cheese fries that have fallen from heaven onto your table. You can't go wrong with the blue-cheese-bacon burger, but don't miss the spicy battered chicken tenders! They're a winner!

I enjoyed sliders w/chili and an order of fries. It was more than enough food. I took some of mine home. 😍 My friend had a mushroom swiss burger that looked great! The restaurant was very clean. The service was fast and friendly and anticipated our needs. The women’s restroom was very clean. I would definitely go back and recommend it to others.

I think that the food is medicore but the servers are cheerful and most people seemed to like it a lot.

There is no crowd control, no hostess, no bus boys. I'm not even sure that servers are assigned to their own station. Dirty tables everywhere because servers do all the work. Awesome burgers but won't go back.

We were in town for business and decided on Snuffer's for a casual dinner after a long day of seminars, meetings, etc. The menu seemed rather standard. I ordered a club sandwich and was not disappointed in the least. Good service, clean restaurant and washrooms. Overall, very nice, and I'd be happy to return again if the opportunity arose!

Never had been here before as we don't live in TX, but friends brought us here. I can't tell you much about anything other than cheese fries and burgers which were both very good. There is LOTS of cheese on the fries, and they aren't seasoned much, so I had to add my own salt and pepper. Burger was very good and cooked the way I asked for it. Don't know what else this could be compared to in the area, but for a good burger, I'd go back to this place.

Their burgers are nice and flavorful and the cheese fries were probably the best I've ever had. The cheese was throughout, not just on top like you get at most places. The bacon bits were made of quality bacon and their house made ranch has a mild flavor that doesn't overpower, which is what I prefer...and the peppers were good. If you're unsure about the bacon, ranch and peppers, they're more than happy to give them on the side and let you find your way! My only complaint is that the burgers come on sesame seed and/or poppy seed buns. I didn't ask if they offered regular buns, so I'm not sure.

I had heard about Snuffers Famous Cheese fries for years adn that they used to have a pound of cheese on them. they have cut back a few ounces some but they are still good. I also had grilled Chicken which was good. But Cheese Fries takes the cake!

Wonderful family atmosphere. The hamburgers are awesome and the adult beverages were not bad either! :)

If you’re looking for a great burger and fries, try this place. Reasonably priced, fast service and close to SMU. Perfect place to grab a quick meal.

I rarely give ratings of five but Snuffers is one of those pleasant exceptions. Came here about a year or so ago with my wife and a lady friend to try out the Original Cheddar Fries mainly because they claim the dish originated at their Greenville Ave. location. The fries were great, the service good and, surprisingly, the Classic Burger I tried was excellent. We decided to give it another try this year and found the same thing and more. The fries were the main feature, this time with jalapeno peppers and chives and were excellent (although the potatoes could have been a tad hotter). My wife had Snuffer's Classic (burger) plus a cup of Tomato Basil Soup, our friend had the Black Angus Steak Strips and I had the Fried Jalapeno Cheeseburger. Everything was excellent. The cup of soup looked like a bowl so my wife and I shared it. It was piping hot (most soups are usually lukewarm) and tasty with a little bite of spiciness. My burger was especially good. It was ordered medium and came that way. Most "medium" burgers come out like bouncy rubber balls. I was impressed. It even had a little char to the meat which gave it a flavor boost. This is a repeat of a year ago and these burgers are among the best I have ever had. Our waitress was prompt and attentive. It turned out the manager, on a spot check, took our order (fancy that!). Afterward, we noted an overcharge on the cup of soup to our waitress and she just dropped the charge altogether. No complaint there. Overall, an excellent experience. Snuffer's is definitely on our return list. Kingwood Bob

If you want a salt burger then this is your place.

One of my favorite places for lunch. Try the salad with marinated chicken. It’s my regular order. Chase is a top notch server: hard working and attentive!

Was in Dallas for a business trip and taken to the original Snuffer's location for lunch. It was fantastic! My coworker and I shared the cheese fries and fried mushrooms. They came with a side of ranch dressing, real bacon bits, green onions and jalapeños. I had to stop myself from eating the rest of the mushrooms. I ordered the green chile cheeseburger. It was absolutely delicious! It was cooked exactly the way I like it (medium). The green chile and chipotle sauce added a perfect amount of heat to it. I would definitely come back to this restaurant again. The staff was great as well!

Love the burger and chicken sandwich but the cheese fries are AMAZING. Some people think that the burger is salty- ask if they will prepare it with no salt.

Great place for greasy, juicy burgers and cheese fries. It's what they do best.

Wonderful burger and those awesome cheese fries. Burgers are large enough you can split with two people. Great patio for people watching. Dog friendly patio.

After walking on Greenville Avenue, it was time for a break and a drink. Snuffer's was the perfect spot of a cold refreshment.

Oh what a fun place to eat at!!! The staff is wonderful and the original Snuffer's is haunted!!! The cheese fries are amazzzzzzing!!!!!!

Snuffer's is still one of the best places for burgers and fries. The service was very prompt and the food as delicious as I remember it to be.... glad to be back in Dallas to enjoy Snuffer's. We will certainly return to this burgers mecca.

I had the Jalapeno burger and it was very different from your normal burger. Not too hot, just right and not too greasy. The Cheese Fries (loaded) with all the fixing's including bacon, jalapenos, and chives is definitely what you want to get here. Probably best thing on the menu.

How can you argue with a place that churns out the best burgers, chili cheese fries and fried pickles. Nothing else need be said

We love this place. The atmosphere is fun and welcoming. Everything on the menu is amazing. The burgers are thick and juicy, the chicken sandwich marinade is fantastic and the nachos come piled high with meat and cheese. You have to get the cheese fries - don't think about the calories because it's totally worth it. We make it back here every time we come back to Dallas. Please open one in Houston!!

When you visit Snuffer's you will never be disappointed! This is often a place to go get some food the day after a big night on the town. For us, that is typically a Sunday afternoon. The food never disappoints and the drinks are great. They have the best cheese fries on the planet.

Last several times I have been to Snuffers (I have eaten here over the past 30 years) the food quality has fallen to such a level that I will no longer be back. Buns are old and crusty, Chicken tough and chewy, mushrooms so salty they are inedible and the fried pickles has so much batter on them, they were uncooked in the middle. (The cheddar fries are still good as is the ranch dressing).

Love their cheesefries

Cool vibe and good burgers. Had the green chile cheeseburger on poppyseed bun. Burgers are expensive at $9 and they don't come with fries. Fried pickles were really great. Very crispy.

We eat here at least once a month. The food is excellent and very consistent. The cheese fries are to die for. And then the burger is juicy and delicious. I always get the mushroom swiss!

This is a great Dallas landmark with consistently quality food and a lovely location and ambiance. I highly recomend this restaurant for their Swiss-American Burger and Cheese Fries.

Must have the cheese fries!

Went in to Snuffers while travelling for business. Everything I saw on the menu was fried and not freshly prepared. Had fried pickles and quesdadillas just to try the food. That was a mistake. Perhaps I'm just an older guy, perhaps my digestive tract is just not as good as it used to be, but I ate it all night.....and a good part of the next day as well. Service was friendly and prompt. Just a suggestion....if you're gonna have a nice place in a nice section of town, and compete next store to Brio's and the Cheesecake Factory, have something going for you other than a microwave and a food distributor that sends you prepared foods. Hire a good cook and develop a menu of fresh products. Not really trying to trash the place...but it just was another bar with poor fried food

Snuffer's a long time Dallas Establishment, offers the same choice of menu as all the other locations. This location is on the North End of Lower Greenville, and is right next door to the Granada Theatre. If your looking for some drinks and quick food before or after a show, this is a much better place than the Sundowner Cafe. Service can be a bit spotty, but the Bacon Cheddar Burger and Cheese Fries are great.

I just don't get the fascination with this place.

I was visiting my friend in Plano and we were going to visit the Bush Museum... I suggested eating at Snuffer's because I hadn't been there in eons and I wanted their delicious cheese fries (sorry, it isn't rocket science but no one compares). I ordered a hamburger and it was huge and delicious. I added jalapeños but didn't notice any heat in the burger :(. My friend ordered the grilled chicken sandwich which was also a hefty size! Be sure to get to Snuffer's and getcha done cheese fries! We split a small order and that was a sufficient amount! It comes with a side of fresh bacon bits, lots of ranch dressing, green onions and pickled jalapeños! Selfish!!

This is a great place for college kids. Food is good, but, it's a burger joint. If I were 21, you couldn't keep me away.

The cheese fries, fully loaded, are why you go here. Far different, and better, than any other place that offers. Not one bit healthy, but super delicious. Decent drink menu with some great value. Burgers and other fare are good, but the cheese fries loaded up are why you go. Staff in general has room for improvement...not the most attentive.

We met my cousin here for lunch while in the middle of a cross country road trip. Food was delicious, atmosphere was good, and it was decently priced.

This restaurant was featured on the Travel Channel. Great burgers! Fresh-made, cooked to a perfect medium-rare, with great ground beef taste. I had the guacamole bacon burger. Yum!

When we first moved here were told that this was the place to go for incredible burgers and fries (and to watch your favorite basketball/football team). The burgers are just "OK" and overpriced, the fries are ridiculous and provide a least one week's worth of calorires and 2 weeks of fat in one basket of fries. And it is so loud you can't hear any of the TVs. There are MUCH, MUCH better burger places in Dallas!

Went there before a show (it's next door to the Granada Theater) and found the food was good bar food. I had the chicken strip salad. Again, it was good but nothing special. They only have a few beer choices on tap. We sat outside, which is set up well. I did not see any seating beyond 4 people, so larger groups will have to split up. The staff is friendly and attentive.

We stopped by Snuffer's in Dallas during an unusually warm March afternoon. We were greeted quickly and offered our choice of seating. We opted for a table outside, yet still in the shade. Our server, Erika, was outstanding! She kept our drinks refilled and stopped by frequently to see if everything was ok. We had the chips with salsa and queso for an appetizer. I had the bleu cheese bacon burger and my wife had a grilled chicken burger. Both were exceptional. The fries my wife ordered were a bit salty for her taste but she ordered them crispy and they were done perfectly.

Great Burgers and service. Never fails to disappoint. Long time, 25 years, customer. Green Chile Burger rocks, and they are on of the few places that will still cook a burger rare.

We picked up a call in order last week. Once we got home, we realized that a large portion of our order was missing. We were charged for the food. It is annoying when food gets left out an order, but it happens. However, I have taken the time to call twice wanting to simply be reimbursed. Both times I called, I felt like they were annoyed and didn't have time. I assumed they would apologize, but they would only offer to call me back. I have still not heard back from them! So I didn't get the food I wanted, paid for it, and won't get reimbursed.

I can't think of anything negative to say about Snuffer's. The parking lot is sufficient, the restroom was very clean, service was great and the food was wonderful. I think our server's name was Jacob. He was very attentive and patient. He was very knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the jalapeno cheeseburger without the chipotle sauce. It was a big, juicy burger, even though the meat was well done. We split the fried mushrooms and dill pickles. Both were very good and not the least bit greasy. I also ordered the fries with cheese and bacon-fantastic!! Laverne ordered the hotdog with chili on the side. She said it was awesome. It was about a foot long. You get really generous portions at this restaurant. Oh, my margarita swirl was delicious (and loaded with alcohol). It hit me when I got home. I had to take a nap. We're looking forward to eating here again so we can choose some of the other selections from the extensive menu.

I stopped here for a quick lunch break while at a seminar in Dallas because it was down the road from where the seminar was. I saw a bunch of reviews about cheese fries and I was thinking oh maybe it's the nacho cheese kind. BUT NO. It's the delicious melted real shredded cheese. When you get them loaded with bacon, jalpenos, and chives...it's loaded. No skimpiness? about it. They were delicious. I am so happy that I listened to the reviews on here. I tried their fried jalpeno burger as well. AMAZING. I sat at the bar and I had much quicker service then I think I would have had sitting in the dining room because it was seat yourself and they were busy!

My husband and I were traveling and hitting that point when you’re getting sick of eating out. My hubby originally from Dallas said we should try this place for some good American food. I had the original chicken sandwich and he had the steak strips. I wasn’t a fan of the sauce on the chicken, wish I could explain the taste but not sure what it is but aside from that, the poppyseed bun, no thank you! I had so many seeds stuck in my teeth it was terrible. That would mortifying if you were returning to work or speaking immediately with others. I tried to switch to his steak strips, but they are quite spicy and frankly I’m a wimp in the category. Overall, I left underwhelmed and hungry. Clean environment and friendly staff!

spilt the loaded fries and the burgers - that way you can enjoy it all!

We were a party of 7. The service started great. Drinks were served efficiently. Two orders of loaded cheese fries were served promptly and both were hot, fresh, and delicious. Then, it fell apart. Waited over 25 minutes for our basic order. Then it was warm, not well cooked, and a total disappointment. Decided not to gamble for dessert. This used to be a great go to restaurant but it seems to be going downhill.

My all time favorite place for a burger. I've been eating at Snuffer's for over 20 years. Burgers are juicy, just enough salt, buns are fresh and the LOADED cheddar fries are the BEST. I dream of these fries. Seriously. Loaded with extra side of ranch, heavenly. Service is fast, friendly. Atmosphere is casual and relaxing...outdoor patio is really nice since they remodeled.
Meet up with kids
Super nice servers. We've been here a dozen or times and have never been disappointed. We meet our kids in Dallas every few months and we keep returning to snuffers. We are not hurried as we usually hang out a couple hours. I ordered a 'snuffarita ' was greatly disappointed, asked for something else the server took the drink off the bill. I didn't ask nor expect it as I am the one that asked for it, it was not recommended. Thanks Snuffer staff for such a nice visit.
