Food was great but customer service stinks! After finishing dinner, my wife and I set waiting for our bill but didn't see our waiter. After about thirty minutes of seeing every other wait person working in the restaurant walk past our table, I flagged down the manager/owner. I said our waiter had disappeared and we were ready to pay. He didn't say anything, left only to return with our check a few minutes later. I paid what we owed but the manager/owner never said thanks for not walking out or sorry for the problem and we appreciate your business. Weird and not very friendly! As much as we like the food, we'll never go back. There are many other restaurants even better than Soluna that treat their customers nicely.

Love the service. I always get treated so well. Thier drinks are terrific and thier food stupendous. They have some very distinctive Mexican dishes from The Mexico City region of Mexico. Thier stuffed Avacado and thier Tortilla soup, minus the chicharones is the best in San Antonio

This is charming place with lights strung outside above tables. The shrimp enchilada is a great choice. Very tasty. So are the shrimp fajitas. Sizzling and delicious!

Really good food to be had here. The place is clean and has good waitstaff. The quest flameado is good and the tacos are grand. I really like the lobster enchiladas and my wife loves the margaritas.

I have family in San Antonio and whenever I come to visit this is in my top three for great Mexican food. The waitstaff are very friendly, the food is super, so good in fact the reservations are recommended! Located on North Broadway it’s easy to get to and certainly worth a little drive for the food! Family owned for decades they know their business which is great food and great service

You know how when people tell you how great a restaurant is and then when you try it you are disappointed? That's exactly how I felt. My sister in law and I decided to eat at Soluna because her daughter had told her how authentic it was. We were seated fairly quickly at 6:00 pm on a Friday night. Once our drinks and food was delivered our waiter never came back to ask if we wanted another margarita or refill our water glasses until we were through with our meal. By then we were ready to leave. Our margarita was not good and neither was our food. I wish I could tell you what we ordered but the names are in Spanish and I don't speak or read it. We ordered going by the descriptions which were in English. And the menu was very large, way to too large. We were disappointed in our meal and service.

First, the restaurant itself is cool. Great ambience. Good service. The food and salsas are very fresh tasting. Great margaritas. Went for lunch today and had their salad with crab and shrimp. Delicious!

I have been to Soluna a few times in the last few years, usually with friends for drinks and appetizers. Always decent food and service is ok. Today I decided to try " Chile en Nogada" as part of September Month, I thought it was a good option. My mistake , worst Nogada ever! It tasted like sour cream.. honestly it was hard to eat it.(I have had this dish a few dozen times in many restaurants and at home) The manager told me it's a best seller there, I recommend something else if you try this restaurant.

Our group met at this restaurant and the bar and the food is very good. The chairs are uncomfortable (very little padding) and the spacing on the tables is a little tight. However, quality of the food is high and service is good. This may be the largest menu I’ve ever had at a Mexican restaurant. This is a popular restaurant! Their tortilla chips are very good.

Soft jazz in the background, inventive Mexican cuisine presented artfully...I really enjoy the chile relleno which is baked or broiled and not breaded. Watching carbs? Just ask for a salad to replace the rice and beans, no extra charge, (I order the caesar salad which comes with lots of avocado). The Carne Adobada is excellent. It's Pork marinated and cooked with Chile Ancho, Chile Guajillo, bay leaves and cinnamon. Served with rice and refried beans. I have gone with friends and they all enjoy whatever they order. The service is great and you can dine indoors or on the patio.

Wonderful lunch. The landscaping is beautiful, puts you in a good mood even before entering the place. Very nice outside dining area, nicely decorated. Inside is cheerful, and pleasant. Wait staff were courteous, helpful, pleasant. Margarita was delicious. More than that it was generous sized. Not huge, just large enough that one was enough, no need for a second. The food was delicious. Everything seemed fresh. No need to pile sauce on to conceal inferior ingredients. Instead it was all just right. This was my first visit, while my wife has eaten there frequently. The waitress recognized her, and asked about me. When we finished eating, the waitress brought me a desert, courtesy of the house. It was wonderful.

This is a great restaurant on the north side. Pretty inside with lots of greenery, fountains. The food is very good as is the well-trained staff. An extensive menu of all the favorites, but prepared better than most. Green enchiladas are on lots of menus, but they are delicious here. Lot's of grilled items. Staff is friendly and efficient. Can't wait to go back.

this restaurant. The food is always good (while expensive, even by the standards in my hometown of Abu Dhabi) and tonight’s enchiladas with poblano sauce were great. Great recommendations by our waiter, Jordy, he was the star of the night. I have eaten here many times, in fact two nights ago, and never had such a personable and knowledgeable waitperson. The staff is going to make good tips simply by not setting fire to the customers . This guy would excel…anywhere.

Good Ambiance and good service, beautiful restaurant and good Mex food --- all was good and great atmosphere , Margaritas yummy !

Visited Soluna while passing through San Antonio. It was a late lunch and not a lot of people in restaurant .... I was getting a little nervous I had made a mistake. However, when I received my food I was blown away with the presentation and flavor. I will be back.

Arrived here early afternoon on a Saturday. Were accomodated fairly quickly for a party of eight. One individual in the party was celebrating a birthday. Menu is large and quite varied with small print describing the dishes. If vision is a problem wear your glasses. Few of us ordered the Un Poquito De Todo Plate which offers a variety of food which was well prepared beautifully displayed and tasted quite good. Our server was quite attentive and made us feel welcome and provided great service. Later they brought the small birthday cake out we had taken in with us to include plates and forks for us to serve. Hope to return someday and overall a good experience. There are other businesses in the same complex where this restaurant is located and because of it's popularity parking I believe at times may prove to be a challenge.

I try to eat here once a year when I get to San Antonio. I always eat outside, it's beautiful with palm trees and a water fountain. The food is so delicious! Had the chicken enchiladas with Pablano cream sauce this visit. It was awesome! This restaurant was featured in Texas Monthly under best Mexican restaurants. I can see why. It's great!

This was the worst service i have ever had are waiter was so rude to say it nicely. This is the most racist place in san Antonio. My wife and i were out for dinner with friends and had a very bad experience. I believe waiter prejudged us and wanted bigger table for tips. Im in sales and service and always tip well ,but this guy was horrible. We will never go back to any of there restaurants. Broadway location needs some training with wait staff

Lovely menu with lots of great choices, chicken, pork, beef, and loads of fish. Hand made tortillas. Flavorful Margaritas. Excellent flan. Raul took great care of us. Just a wonderful experience, really!

Went for a lunch engagement and sat on their covered patio to eat. Food was amazing!! Great variety on the menu and good ambience in the restaurant. People were lined up to eat before they opened so that was a great sign for me. Just be aware they only do breakfast on the weekends so during the week they don't open until 11:30 AM contrary to what the Trip Advisor app says. Besides that I enjoyed myself!!

In town for a weekend event, we were in the mood for some good Mexican food and had previously scoped out Soluna online. We arrived around 6pm on a Thursday evening and were seated immediately, but it was still busy. We chose to sit indoors, though the patio looked lovely. The place is divided into a few rooms, which makes for a more intimate atmosphere, as opposed to one large open space. It was a bit noisy though, with a larger party seated in the same area as we were. Our server was prompt and took very good care of us. I started with a frozen prickly pear margarita that was probably the best I've had - the flavoring at the bottom so you could stir in as much or as little as you'd like. The frozen margarita a very fine texture that didn't melt too quickly. The homemade chips and salsa were very good. My son opted for the seafood relleno, my husband the "Poquito de todo" ("little bit of everything", essentially a sample plate) and myself the seafood enchiladas. Everything was very good - the sauces on the seafood items were both fantastic. Overall, it was a great meal and a perfect start to our stay in San Antonio. Definitely a place we'll return to next time we're in town.

We had dined here a year or so ago, and were ready for a return visit. We were not disappointed, and it was well worth the wait. There is an outdoor patio area and bar area. The decor is beautiful, and the food, while pricey, is well worth the extra expense. My seafood enchiladas were exquisite and my wife loved her avocado and lump crab salad. Good chips and two types of home made salsa. Recommended.

One might think that San Antonio, TX would have a plethora of great eateries given so many tourist attractions; The Alamo, Riverwalk, Sea World, not to mention Lackland AFB and many other military and government places. Yet, every restaurant I've tried over 4 separate visits now are typically just not any good!! :O. Now, with Soluna I've found an great exception!!! They have a terrific menu, that does have decent vegetarian options, really excellent food, and a wonderful festive ambience. There is a full bar, patio, and inside seating areas that are all comfy and very nice. If you are looking for a really good restaurant, with mexican food done right, in San Antonio, just go to Soluna and don't bother with any other place. Even the big chain restaurants there are sub standard in food quality.

My new favorite Mexican spot in SA! Honestly, this is some of the best Mexican food I’ve had since moving to SA a decade ago. While checking out their website, I was happy to discover they were open for brunch on weekends from 10a-1p! I had been wanting to try it since moving nearby, so I called and ordered huevos rancheros for around $12. I walked over to pick it up my food about 15-min later, and was greeted by a warm host at the front desk. The exterior of the restaurant is surrounded by a lush container garden that extends onto the gorgeous patio, providing privacy and shade. The plantings are arranged in a way that you hardly notice the traffic on this busy stretch of Broadway. The interior of the restaurant is just as eye-catching and inviting. Mirrors, original artwork, tile and paint all converge to give you the feeling that you are on vacationing at a high end beachside town in Mexico. The restaurant itself was bustling with organized activity — smiling waitstaff, engaged management, happy guests and delicious aromas wafting from the kitchen. I was promptly greeted a second time by a member of the bar staff, who had my order ready and waiting. The food itself was spectacular - savory refried beans, perfectly sunny side up eggs and crisp tortillas topped with a smoky ranchero sauce tasted incredible. They even gave me a side of fresh tortilla chips and two salsas, ALL FOR $12! Gorgeous atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious food, and excellent value —everything you could ask for and more. All that’s missing here is the brisk, salty air and sound of the breaking waves, and you’d be transported to a Mexican beachside resort.

Very pretty restaurant and dressy. We had excellent meals for a large family party. Drinks were outstanding and the waiter very receptive to any changes made by indecisive people. Fish, beef, pork were all seasoned just right and the salsas terrific and replenished at no charge for hungry diners. We all polished off our meals and I loved their Margaritas! A little more pricey but well worth it.

Great atmosphere, I really enjoy the outside patio, feels like a tropical paradise. Excellent authentic Mexican food. Always fresh Always tasty. Love the margaritas 👍 Wait staff very attentive!

This is my second time here. I can say that the food is consistently well prepared. It is way better than the typical Mexican or Tex-Mex that is common around here. Since I came back i admit that I was looking forward to it.

Not sure if our visit this week for lunch was an anomaly or another sign of a downward trend. Our last couple visits have seen below par food and only average service. Portions seem smaller and this week's caldo had little to almost no meat and very few vegetables....all broth. Perhaps we got spoiled in the past with fantastic service and great food. Guess we will have to wait and see.

Reservations were made for my son's wedding and the wedding party (15 people) for a rehearsal dinner. We thought the reservation was for 4: 30 PM so we showed up about 4:20 PM. Turned out, it was for 5:00 PM so they were still preparing our space. Without missing a beat, they took us in and within minutes finished setting the table and we had waters and menus. The menu is extensive with all kinds of Mexican choices and the staff was very patient in explaining if we did not understand. They took our orders and our food came out much faster than I expected considering we were early and messed up their timings. I tried a trio of enchiladas that was excellent. The other plates I saw coming to the table also looked great. Excellent food and great service that made the rehearsal dinner a pleasure. Thank you.

I supped recently at Soluna on a Friday night where it appeared to be the place to be seen.Although crowded out wait for a table was short and the service good. I had nachos cimpuestas which were delicious.

Soluna has one of the best interior Mexican food available in San Antonio, varied and usually really above average. However, the experience is typically marred because their service is so lacking consistency. Several of he waiters have a HUGE attitude and that's when they actually pay attention to you, which is somewhat of a spotty occurrence. The margaritas are great though and maybe they make you forget about the lack of service?

Great Mexican food! Ordered my standard cheese and onion enchiladas with beef gravy, refried beans, and rice...excellent! Guacamole Fresco and chips were fantastic, but I am not a fan of the roasted salsa that is popular in some places (the only reason to downgrade from a 5...not true Tex-Mex). Chips were amazing...thick, crunchy, and with great flavor. Flour tortillas are better at Taco Cabana or Alamo Cafe. The Salsa Verde was fantastic...ate it instead of the Roja. Tea was infused instead of simple iced tea. All in all very good...will definitely visit again.

We visited Sunday for a late lunch. The weather was beautiful and the outdoor patio was perfect. So lush and tropical. I do not remember the name of their signature margarita's but they were very authentic. No mixes. The complimentary salsa is a dark red roasted salsa that is fantastic and if you are aware there is another to request with a little more kick. The menu is extensive to the point of making it difficult to choose. It all sounds so wonderful. One had the Tacos Nortenos, one had the Enchilada's Verdes and the other the Enchiladas Norteno. The only complaint from anyone was that the Borracho Beans were a lot of bacon and juice and very few beans with not much flavor. The wait staff was very attentive and responsive. This just may be my new favorite in San Antonio.

Yesterday my family and I went here for the first time and enjoyed our meal. They brought us 3 different salsas which were very good. We especially liked the tomatillo salsa. The menu is extensive and the service was very good, too.

We were at Soluna to have some margaritas and a bite to eat. Service, food, drinks, ambiance are all pretty much normal. I can't point to anything that stood out ... neither favorably nor unfavorably.

By "refined" I mean "elegant", "tasteful", etc. Don't dine at Soluna expecting street food - this is a quantom leap above the run-of-the mill hole in the wall Mexican joint. The presentations are numerous, rich and very good. The staff is attentive and helpful. We have been eating here for decades, and have never been disappointed. Highly recommended for a real treat.

overall very good neighborhood mexican restaurant. Good location and very good Mexican food, would recommend highly.

Soluna isn't your typical Tex -Mex or Mexican restaurant. If you want to kick it up a notch or if you don't want to go to a tourist location, Soluna is the place to be. You will be surprised at the fresh take on Mexican cuisine. Try the house margarita, but careful, these are tasty and potent. As for the menu, they have a wide assortment of tastes to satisfy any pallet or craving. Excellent food. Great place for special occasions.

I ate at Soluna solo while on a biz trip. Queso flameado and the Mexican chicken soup were both really good. Tortillas were home made. The churro dessert was not to my liking as the churros were injected with cajeta. Just not my thing. Salad was fresh and good. This is a fun place with quick service. I would return.

If you are looking for the best top shelf margarita ever this place is a gem! Sitting out on patio with friends enjoying some great salsa & chips is the perfect way to start a weekend or end a long day at work! The food is delicious and the service is always great!

The chistas, spicy guacamole, queso and all of our entrees were delicious! Service was excellent too!

Very busy at lunchtime but was seated fast. Courteous and professional service as well. Tasty grilled chicken breast choices on the menu if you are watching your calories! Will return.

With a bevy of Mexican food options in San Antonio, SoLuna gets top honors from this native! I am from SA, but have lived in Dallas many years. When I go home, SoLuna is the only place I want to go for Mexican food! You will find more true Mexican dishes here and less Tex mex. From the lovely plant filled patio oasis to the amazing waitstaff and incredible food, it never disappoints. I was in town for the weekend and literally went twice. My daughter begged to go. I couldn’t recommend one thing in particular on the menu, it is literally all good. I do typically love to order the Camarones SoLuna with Poblano cream sauce (the chipotle cream is equally amazing), guacamole, and my daughter always gets the Pollo enchiladas Verdes. Their Chispa is a must do. I am not a fan of sweet and sour in a margarita. The Chispa is a margarita without it and is a more fresh and crisp version of a typical margarita. It comes in many flavors, all superb! In addition to SoLuna’s impeccable dishes, you are almost sure to either run into someone you know there or feel like you are a part of the family. The waitstaff is second to none. You will not be disappointed!!! Take it from someone who grew up here, it is the best of the best in San Antonio!

Seated quickly on a Friday night, staff was courteous, attentive and prompt. Menu quite large with many dishes I hadn't seen before. Ordered the "Little Bit of Everything": fajita taco, cheese quesidilla, rolled taco, rice, refried beans and beef enchilada. It was all very good and I considered returning the next day, but we were in Texas for BBQ brisket, so had to move on.

We had a great night and the food and drinks were awesome! Our server pointed us in the right direction and the fresh margaritas were the best! I can see why Soluna is so popular in San Antonio, we loved it!

I had wanted to try this restaurant because it's close to home and it smells good, but that is all that I can say that is positive about this place. We were under the weather and were wanting soup. I noticed that they had soup. I also saw that they had grilled chicken with rice and beans. We went to Soluna to placen order to go. We went to the hostess station where three women were talking. We stood there for a while before anyone noticed us. It was one of the three women and all she did was turn around to continue speaking to the other two ladies. Finally, one of them noticed that we were not going away. (we probably should have at this point). We told her that we wanted to place an order to go. The hostess pointed us in the direction of the bar. We said we wanted to place an order and the bartender tried to point us in the direction of the hostess area. We explained that they sent us to him and that we needed a menu. Once my boyfriend and I decided what we wanted, we started to place the order with him and he pointed us to the hostess area again. We placed the order and awaited the food. The food was brought out to us. We paid for it and left. We got home and realized two problems with the order. We did not receive flatware, and we received no tortillas. We called the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager. The bright person on the phone asked me the name of their manager. I asked, "you don't know the name of your manager?" and she said they had two. I said I wanted to speak to the manager on duty and the person on the phone asked what it was about. I told her it was regarding a to go order we placed. I was forwarded to the hostess station and I was told that tortillas don't automatically come with your meal and that you have to request them. We didn't know, it was our first time there and the person taking the order should have asked if we wanted the tortillas. We decided that based on the level of service that we'd never go back to that place again. You go there and you get the run around from the staff. Not impressed at all. A fast food place would have better customer service than this. So, we started to eat our food. The soup was not good at all. We did not enjoy it. The grilled chicken was average. Overall, the place was overpriced and not that good. I don't recommend it at all. You can find better, less expensive and unpretentious somewhere else. Save your money and go somewhere else.

The food here is excellent authentic Mexican food and some of the very best in San Antonio. The prices are a little higher than you would expect for Mexican food but quality is top notch and portions are big. Service ranges from good to excellent depending on how busy they are and who you server is. This is where we take our out of town guests for Mexican food.

We have been going there for years and never get tired. This is not a Tex-Mex restaurant. The appetizers and main courses have extra layers of flavors making them very tasty. The house margaritas are perfect: not acidic and with plenty of tequila. Staff is very friendly and professional. If you become a regular, you might get free white Patron tequila shots for the table and/or a small plate with their savory green enchiladas. The owner and his son are there to ensure everything is running like clockwork.

Arracheros were great and the sopa de pollo but the flan was awful..,more like cake with syrup than the usual melt in your mouth flan. We complained but no refund offered.

Excellent food and service. Patio atmosphere gives you that Cancun feeling. Great dinning experience . A must stop in San Antonio.

Having spent the day downtown visiting the usual attractions and having had lunch at one of the popular tourist restaurants on the river, I had assured our out-of-town guests that our dinner would be different. Ready to experience not only delicious Mexican food, but great service, imagine my disbelief and embarrassment to have our server, Marcos, rush us through our dinner. Soluna serves great tasting food; rushing through it is doing a disservice to the restaurant and ruining the experience for the guests.

The house margaritas are traditional similar to a true Mexican bar. Both of our dishes were wonderful. I think the baracho beans were as good as I have tasted. The service was prompt and friendly. I would like to try it in the evening when the bar must be a hopping scene.

Soluna is one our favorite Restaurants in San Antonio. My wife and I love the lively atmosphere, the friendly service, and the flavorful cuisine. The cabrito tacos and mole enchiladas are the very best. The house margaritas never disappoint. There are so many items on the menu plus they’ll make whatever combination you desire. You’ve got to love Soluna’s!

It was great food, great service and good atmosphere. I would recommend trying it. I have to add more text so blab blab blab blab blab blab blab

OK so we have been here and I have reviewed Soluna before but I asked for a twist on a fav dish they have and want the world to know. Pollo A La Parilla is always a good plate of food in most places but I wanted to put a twist on theirs to see how it went. I asked my waiter, Omar, to put their signature Chipotle sauce on it instead of the usual onions. Man is this good! The Chipotle sauce actually played into the Cesar salad they have on the plate. The flavors of the grill made the chicken tasty to begin with but the Chipotle sauce is the bomb to add to the explosion of goodness. The Cesar salad is a little warm so the lettuce does not cool your palate down as you enjoy the confluence of flavors. Sounds strange but it works really well. My tip for Soluna Get there around 5 and hang out at your table with a Margarita or three..... By the time you order you will be feeling good and beat the rush that is ALWAYS THERE!! Don't forget the Campechana appetizer if you are into oysters and seafood.

First time at Soluna was about six months ago; our group totaled 8; was seated outside on their patio; I have to say service was just completely lacking, and I am usually pretty tolerant; food was decent enough; chips and salsa were delicious; but service was so bad and inattentive that I seriously questioned returning; we returned to Soluna for a shower/party last Saturday; food again was decent; Hubby had the salmon, I had the shrimp enchiladas; drinks, chips and salsa were excellent; service was okay for a party of about 30; nothing outstanding; maybe a third time will be best

Visited San Antonio for a two week period and visited Soluna twice because the first meal was so very good. Very nice place whether dining inside or heat permitting, outside. Interesting menu, cabrito was delicious, preparation perfect and beans so good wishing I had refrigerated luggage. Next meal were Chilies en Nogada one of my all time favorites. They did not disappoint, perfectly presented, perfectly enjoyable, as good as any ever tasted in Mexico.

We were so happy to find this place. We were looking for an upscale Mexican with a patio and good tequilas. We found all three here. Everything was delicious! I had a mezcal margarita that was made to perfection. My husband had the ribeye tacos, worth the price, plenty of food and I had the carne adobada with a rich chile arbol sauce. “Patio” is more like an open air large room lots of plants and tables were well spaced.

Had dinner on a Sunday evening. The menu selection was huge. My wife and son started off with a couple Corona on tap. I really enjoyed the Paloma, tequila and grapefruit pop. Didn't really care for the ancho flavored salsa and the chips were hard and didn't seem fresh. We all enjoyed our meals very much. Seafood stuffed enchiladas De Mar was excellent. Our son enjoyed chicken quesadilla and my wife had lots of great food with her Un Poquito De Todo. Prices did seem a bit high though.

Went with a friend who lives 5 minutes from here while visiting. Had a very early dinner (4:30pm) and were seated right away, inside (it was about 96 and humid). Our server brought our drinks & chips with salsa right away. Chips and salsa were great (one spicy and one mild). We ordered the Antojitos Saluna to share with a side of beans. We knew this would be too much for just the 2 of us, so we would have leftovers. Everything was very tasty but the meat was very minimal in everything that had meat. So I think it’s pricey for what you get (tortillas with a lot of cheese), although they’re tortillas are really good. Refried beans were just okay. Server didn’t come around at all until it was time to get a box for our leftovers and give us the bill. Neither of us had their signature margarita because we heard they’re very strong & we didn’t feel like getting drunk off of one drink! The biggest complaint is a gentleman walked into the dining room, inside, with his dog. He proceeded to pick up his dog & sat him on a chair, ordered him a salmon dinner, and the dog was more or less fed by his master! Granted, it was hot, but 1) leave your dog home or 2) eat outside on the covered patio! It seemed like the restaurant knew this guy because other employees talked to him. Why the special treatment? Imagine if they let everyone bring their dog there, wouldn’t there be fighting amongst non-friendly dogs, or patrons walking out?? Is this really ok with the health department? We told the hostess as we were leaving we really didn’t like the fact he was allowed to bring his pet inside, let alone sit at the table! I reached out via email to Soluna but have not heard back from them.

I love it! delicious food different from any other Mexican restaurant, waitress was very friendly and courteous, the drinks are a little expensive but well prepared . The food is great we tried Enchiladas, chile en nogada, shrimp cocktail and more everything taste great

Went after returning home for travel. Was nice because it’s convenient to the airport. Nice family atmosphere. Had the enchiladas and they were great...but cost more than other places in town. Reason I marked them down. Food and service are always good.

The first night of our stay in San Antonio we took an Uber from Downtown to Soluna. Service was excellent, food was excellent There were 8 of us at dinner and we all ordered different items and all of the items were excellent. My suggestion is to make reservations. It is a very busy restaurant.

DO NOT EVER PLAN A LARGE PARTY at Soluna. We were celebrating the retirement of my friend who gave 20+ years of service in the military at this establishment. From step one, this restaurant made EVERYTHING difficult. Demanded orders from the 60+ people attending this celebration up front and paid for (with tax and 18% gratuity included). Secondly, this restaurant has 3 menus, lunch, dinner and party. The party menu (which we had to use) was double the price of the normal lunch menu, and limited in the selections. Thirdly, WOW how overpriced for enchiladas and tacos average plate was $20+. Fourthly , when the party arrived a mere 5 extra people showed up, and we were told they could not be accommodated. Fifthly, parking at this location is atrocious. I have led scores of retirement/promotion parties and have never had to jump through so many hoops to ensure the guest of honor had an enjoyable time. Soluna will never have my business again. As you can see from my previous reviews, I have been to establishments all over the world, and Soluna rates as one of my worst experiences. Unbelievable.

Of the 5-6 Mexican restaurants we've tried here this is the best. Admittedly most were more Tex than Mex and this one is all Mex. Food great, the drinks outstanding. Real margaritas (no mix), tequila and more. They even have entertainment or quiet areas. We'll be back

The margaritas at Soluna are outstanding. And they don't stint on the tequila. Food was excellent, and prices reasonable. Ambiance was nice, and you have a choice of indoor or outdoor seating. The restaurant is quiet enough for good conversation. Service was relatively quick although our waiter, Raul, was not as courteous to my wife as he should have been; she has a speech impediment, and he was impatient with her.

Food is good . But it is too noisy . Also We had a problem with fly's ............... Not good for conversations.

Service was slow, and food was fair. Not worthy of a return visit. Will look for other places to dine.

I'm still obsessing about the Chili en Nogada -- sweet and savory unusual stuffed poblano pepper filled with beef, pork, almonds and topped with a cream sauce and pomegranate seeds. Out of this world! My husband loved the Calabacita squash with pork and corn. Margaritas were good too. We are only here for a couple of weeks but will definitely be back. We had excellent service too.

Try the Amor Y Passion margarita. It's nothing like you have ever tasted before, and by the way, limit yourself to two. They are strong. The food is among the best in the city. Outside dining on the patio near the water fountain is recommended.

I was born and raised in SA, TX. I love to travel and consider myself a foodie. When I have friends visiting from out of town I take them to Soluna. The margaritas are the best, ever! They have 3 different salsas that are all very good. They have a charming patio area that is DOG friendly. Sometimes they have mariachis on the weekends and the local women will dance like nobody is watching. Those margaritas give you magic dancing powers. The service is not speedy so don't go unless you have plenty of time to enjoy the experience. Hey tourists, take a lyft there from DT and then check out the dive bars on Broadway (Hanger, Rebar) after dinner. You'll be glad you did.

My husband and I went here for a snack today. He had the Soluna Margarita and I had a Chispas with Charbord (I hope I'm spelling that correctly). We also had the Nachos Compuestas then we're still hungry so ordered Ceviche made with red snapper. Everything was "Soluna So Good". This place has great Margaritas and Chispas (which is a margarita with extra flavoring put into it, a large selection of flavoring to choose from).

With so many Tex-Mex restaurants to choose from it’s sometimes hard to find a truly Mexican restaurant. Soluna Fills the bill in this arena. There are an amazing selection of plates to choose from and dishes that you typically don’t find in many restaurants. We were two couples for dinner the other night and the atmosphere was lively, with lines to get in starting at 6 o’clock. We had a selection of chicken, pork, beef, goat yacos, as well as caseo and guacamole. They were all excellent and we will definitely return to this restaurant next time we visit San Antonio.

Had spinach enchiladas with Pablano sauce Was incredible! Cheese dip good! Tortillas fresh! Need to remove lighted tree on bar.... Sammy at bar is a hard worker!

An incredibly delightful menu. Efficient and friendly staff from hostess to servers to busing. Freshly prepared and tastefully seasoned entrees were delicious. Drinks were well crafted and generous. Would not hesitate to recommend Solana to you. You deserve this !

Our hotel recommended this place -- and it was good...but more so for the drinks! I saw one review that said "I go to Soluna for the Margaritas" -- and I can understand why! Delicious! :-)

I was in town on business and the shuttle driver from the hotel recommended I go there instead of the restaurant that was recommended by the desk staff. I am certainly glad I took his advice. Thanks to the GM Omar for taking care of me. He made me a plate of food which had a stuffed pepper, taco, enchilada and something else. One thing was tastier than the next. The plate he brought out was better than the food I had in highly rated restaurants in Cabo. One thing was tastier than the next. To top it off after I had a great margarita the person sitting next to me said to order their famous Chispa, which I never heard of. It's like an upscale fresh Margarita only better. If back in San Antonio, absolutely my first choice of restaurants to go. I don't want to overlook the bartenders as I was seated at the bar and the service was perfect.

I had been to their sister restaurant, El Mirasol, before - and gave it my lowest review (it was the worst Mexican meal I've had in five years). But one of my co-workers said that, No, you should try Sol Luna, it's not the same! So I did. Let's start with the positives: The service was great - friendly and attentive. The setting was decent. The iced tea was refreshing. I picked one of the mid-range menu items, the eponymous Soluna Enchiladas. Well, they certainly tasted similar to what I had eaten at El Mirasol, and followed the same formula of slathering on bucket-loads of sauce (more sauce than enchilada by volume!). Except this time, at least, the tortillas and chicken filling were fresh and tender (as opposed to the dried out freezer-burned husks that required sawing with a knife at El MIrasol). I left the restaurant thinking it was a 3 out of 5 experience, albeit unnecessarily expensive for what it was. And then the heartburn set in. Within ten minutes my stomach started to ache, and for the next several hours it was popping antacid tablets to keep the vomit-flavored reflux from coming back up. Ugh. Even as I write this, the morning after, I can still taste it. Well -- I gave it an honest chance. But in the end, it turned out to be my SECOND worst Mexican meal in years. Given so many other choices in town, there's no reason to give El Mirasol or Soluna another chance ever again. I'll stick to Aldaco's, or Paloma Blanca. I'll even go to Pappasito's or Alamo Cafe. Heck, I've had more enjoyable meals at Las Palapas at about a third the cost! Seriously, just give this place a pass.

Had lunch ordered the grilled chicken ,salad, rice and beans plate . Chicken was too dry. And once again flies. Margaritas lousy . First one was ok second one watered down . Service was just not up to par either .

From the moment you enter and see the lush landscaped patio, you feel comfortable and relaxed. All of the wait-staff are friendly and efficient; if you have a question, need a substitution or slight modification to to any dish, they are very willing to accommodate your request. Our group had several different dishes, with each and every one being promptly served, ample quantities and delicious. On at lease a couple of occasions, someone other than our waiter asked if there was anything else we needed. We will definitely make this a frequent place to have breakfast, lunch or dinner.

A friend suggested this restaurant. The food was really good and there was a lot! The margaritas were so excellent! I would go back here again.

Food was very good. I was very happy not to be at a chain! This place seemed authentic and though it was nice inside it was not pretentious. Service was fast and efficient, food came out amazingly fast, and was excellent. I had the Mole... I still do not understand why Margaritas are so expensive at every restaurant... not any higher here than anywhere else. I worked in the restaurant business and understand food/liquor cost ratios, but the cost of margaritas is one of the many mysteries of life.

We drove by a favorite Mexican grill today and my husband turned the car around and said, "let's do something fun for lunch!" From the time we ordered until the our food arrived was less than 10 minutes. We were shocked and pleased. They offered us free sodas which made our day! We were met with smiles and drove way knowing that we had made a good lunch decision. We took the food home and it was delicious. They were very generous with their chips and gave us three kids of salsas. We will definitely go by there again soon.

We arrived when the restaurant opened at 11:30 AM, and we were promptly greeted and welcomed. Not being accustomed to the types of Mexican food that would be available at a non-fast food restaurant, we allowed our host to order for us. The guacamole appetizer was freshly made and came with unique corn chips. The variety of tacos that were ordered each had a different flavor and texture, and they provided an excellent variety and sampling. Throughout our visit, our server was attentive and welcoming, even though it was recognized that we were from out of town and would not be returning anytime soon. The surroundings on the outdoor patio created a relaxing atmosphere for our lunch.

We had a party of 15 and the service was just right. It could’ve been quite chaotic trying to get everyone’s order in but the servers did a great job. The food came out nice and hot and all the dishes were fantastic. I had a seafood pasta which was great. The person next to me had goat which was quite tasty and throughout dinner there was fresh chips and different types of salsa to share. I would absolutely come back to this restaurant the next time I’m in town.

I have to admit that I was skeptical when I went to Soluna. It seemed like a trendy, high-priced place, and those kinds of places tend to not be a good value, i.e. they have small portions at ridiculous prices. Bottom line: It is trendy and a bit high-priced, but the drinks and food are very good, and the portions are more than enough. My wife and I had chispas, which are their homemade margaritas made with fresh ingredients. I enjoyed mine, and it was pretty strong; I was glad once the ice started to melt to dilute it a little bit. My wife was ambivalent on hers. But the chispas are expensive ($12+). We got to the restaurant a little late in the night and the waiter wanted us to put in our order ASAP so they could close the kitchen. I despise being rushed, but the waiter did help us make a very good selection. Because the prices are so high, we wanted to have something we could share. I liked the cabrito (which was $30), but the waiter suggested the Tampiquena a la Chef, which he thought would be a better option for sharing. It was $27, so we went for it. The plate was definitely big enough to share, and in fact, we took about half of it back home. The mushroom and spinach sauce wasn't so much a sauce, but more like a side order. It was very good. The meat was not done enough, however, and that was even after the waiter asked whether we wanted it medium or medium well. We usually prefer well done (and I asked for that), but the waiter heard medium well, which was fine; I didn't correct him. But it still was not medium well; way too rare for our taste. But still very good. So, if you want a trendy place and are willing to pay up, this is a good option. For a trendy place, it is a decent value.

This is a popular neighborhood restaurant. It has a gorgeous covered patio that can be utilized year-round. Along with many of the usual Tex-Mex dishes, they have several others. Nice ambiance.

So I have been to Soluna before. Great place and killer margaritas. We will just go to get a couple of Margaritas to get the afternoon or evening started. We went and I was taking my time looking at the menu and the Campechana appetizer looked good so I said "yes, please"! F&*@k! This is awesome!! They get their Oysters form a particular vendor because of their size. They are HUGE and super tasty!! I have a new favorite first go to thing to eat there. If you are not real hungry it will definitely be all you need. The family has always done an excellent job creating great seafood dishes here as well as regular Tex Mex. This place gets packed early so call and get reservations or just show up before the 5:00 rush hour and enjoy a few margaritas and have fun!!

Had the flautas de pollo and a white sangria - all was great including the service. Was seated right away, server was very attentive and the entire staff was working hard to attend to all of the tables.

We went early to beat the Friday rush during Fiesta and they accommodated all 9 of us! The staff was great - good service and attentive. The mango and coconut margaritas are delicious. Everything we ordered was tasty. Highly recommended!

Beautiful outdoor dining area; great location; wonderful food. Breakfast was outstanding - nice portions - not huge. Service was a little slow, but I think they were understaff - as we were leaving there were 2 more servers walking in.

Went here on a weekday evening and enjoyed the lovely patio. The margarita was delicious and the food was too. The service could not have been more friendly and accommodating. I would like to return here to enjoy more things on the menu, so many great things to try!

Ordering pick-up here is so annoying. When I pulled up I called the curb pick-up number and got a recorded message. Also, they got part of my order wrong.

It is shocking that this restaurant does not serve a cheese enchilada with no meat gravy. I called to order for pickup and asked if they could make a cheese enchilada with no meat gravy (it's not on the menu). She said it wouldn't be a problem. I picked it up and upon opening it at home it was a cheese enchilada with a bunch of cheese melted on top. No gravy. It was awful.

The restaurant has great service. We were seated quickly at lunchtime and given our choice of inside or outside dining. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. They do not have a kid's menu but she worked with us to find something the children would enjoy. She surprised the children at the end of the meal with a strawberry ice cream cone. The poblano and chipotle enchiladas were fantastic - the rice is great as well. The chips and salsa were good. The prices are fine for the type and quality of the food. The restaurant had clean bathrooms and everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. We will definitely go again!

If weather permits, the outdoor seating looks like a beautiful shady tropical garden. I ordered carnitas tacos and the waiter recommended tacos al pastor instead. They were unbelievably - almost inedibly salty. Among our party, some portions were decent; others seemed a bit small- inquire if you're hungry. Price is the mid- to high side for Mexican. Nice setting, but would probably try someplace else next time I'm in town (S.A.- needless to say- the home of countless many outstanding spots for authentic comida Mexicana).

Was told the Mojitos were great here, still looking for the perfect mojito in SA. Food was ok. Restaurant light was off, hard to find (first time) in the dark. I will not go back.

I used to LOOOVVVE this place but on the last three visits, the service has been ABYSMAL. There’s really no other word for it. And two of those visits have been when we invited guests, singing Soluna’s praises. Talk about embarrassing! Today, Sunday 01/23/24, there appeared to be an employee party onsite and believe me, it showed. So awful we left a 10% tip and felt that was generous! I will no longer recommend SoLuna to anyone—it’s just too humiliating. Very sad, since prior to this, everything was impeccable. Adios and good luck, SoLuna management. Oh. PS. The drinks are strong, so there’s that.

Best grilled (not Tex Mex) Mexican food in town! Locals know it is owned by the same man that used to own La Fogata and he has brought all his known dishes here. The atmosphere is not quite like La Fogata, but you can hang out with local 09ers and sip great Margaritas.

This was recommended by our hotel. Outstanding Mexican food. We went with the server's recommendations. Read no further. Just go to this place and you won't be disappointed.

Food is great but the prices are $$$. This place is whatever you want it to be, casual or fancy. Locals come by after work to enjoy their signature drinks and food. Mexican food at it's best. Don't leave without trying their desserts. Have a crepe and fresh homemade strawberry ice cream that is too for for. Spectacular. Come to enjoy yourself, leave completely satisfied. Casual wear but you see people in suits and dressy attire.

The food was awesome. Beautiful entrance. However, there was a fly buzzing around our food. Also, the waiters were hanging around the bar and not checking to see if we needed anything. We waited a long time for our check and it was not crowded.

I really had my heart set on traditional Tex-Mex, which SoLuna is not, but OHMYGOSH, did they ever win me over! At the suggestion of the waiter, I tried the Enchiladas SoLuna, and have been craving them ever since. Normally I find chicken enchiladas bland and dry, but not these! Each had a rich, delicious and unique flavor, yet each enhanced the other.

Yum ribeye tacos! Loved it! Great night with friends. Make sure to sit outside though. The inside is a little boring.

We were a group of five and totally enjoyed our dinner. The choices were many and the server was very helpful in facilitating our final decision. A few of the group ordered margaritas and looked very happy with their choice; I had red wine. I selected the snapper - Huachinango Al Ajillo; it was delicious. If in the San Antonio area and you enjoy good Mexican food, I would definitely recommend Soluna.

Food was subpar. Service was terrible. Cleanliness should be addressed as well. Not worth the $$. Try Lupe Tortilla if you are looking for outstanding Tex-Mex.!

We had a last minute group dinner we came early as requested for seating 20 plus last minute on a Saturday evening. Everything was wonderful. All dinners were out correct and hot Nicholas was our server he was great we will be back the octopus and scallops red snapper shrimp dinner also super.

Recently, we visited San Antonio and wanted good Mexican food. Our daughter took us to Soluna and we really enjoyed it. Although the restaurant was crowded, the service was great and the food was outstanding, particularly the Carne Adobada. I strongly recommend ordering the Carne Adobada as it was probably the best Mexican food I have ever tasted.

Some of the best Margaritas in SA. the queso flameado appetizer is very small, but very good. Chile Relleno’s are the bomb!

Overall a great inaugural visit. The food was great, our waitress was fabulous but the hostess was clueless. She had absolutely no idea what to do or how to do it & had to ask someone before moving each time. It was almost funny had we not been so tired & hungry.

We started with queso flameado which was excellent. My wife had the chicken and cheese stuffed poblano with poblano cream sauce. It was excellent but her friend had it with a verde sauce and we think that might be a better choice. I had the Snapper Veracruz and it was perhaps the best I have had. Excellent fish and sauce. The margaritas were also excellent. Service was perfect. This place is on the high end price wise for a Mexican restaurant, but many of the menu items are not your simple Tex-mex. So I would say it’s well worth the money.

I have visited this Mexican restaurant several times and it never disappoints. Soluna offers very authentic Mexican cuisine; not the typical Tex/Mex variety often found in South Texas. The service is reliably good. My only complaint is the noise level. At high volume times, it is difficult to carry on conversation with dinner companions. The patio area seems less noisy.

I go to Soluna for their margaritas and that's pretty much it. They are amazing but STRONG! They're easy to drink and sneak up on so pace yourself! I am disappointed to learn they use animal lard in their tortillas so I'll be avoiding those. Beautiful and relaxing atmosphere.

The food was great. The service was a little shaky. Had to remind the waiter twice that we had ordered something and not received it.

This restaurant will be one that you return to again and again! The waitstaff is very welcoming and knowledgeable, with excellent recommendations. We had excellent service, and the food was absolutely wonderful. It will be a challenge to try something new from the menu next time, as every dish we had we said we would order again they were so memorable. The drinks were downright dangerously delicious! Yum! The owner went to great lengths to make my birthday celebration extra special, and we all look forward to returning soon!

We were out of town guests and you could tell this is where some of the locals come for a fun Friday (including families with kids). There are large tables to accommodate parties and smaller ones as well. We sat outside and we were close to the fountain and enjoyed the atmosphere. The service was good and the food was good as well. We split fajitas and had some yummy skinny margaritas. We recommend!

Beautiful atmosphere… super friendly staff. The Chispas are on point! The food… AMAZING! Food was fresh, delicious with a beautiful presentation! My Guisado Ranchera… tender, sauce spicy but not too hot! Will definitely be back!

We ate breakfast at Soluna on the patio at 9:00. We were pretty much the only people there, so I'm not sure if and when it gets crowded for brunch. The waiter, who may have been an owner, was incredibly friendly. I ate the taco norteño and bacon egg taco, and my husband got the huevos rancheros toceno. Both were good.

First time in airport area of San Antonio and looking for place for dinner, stumbled upon SoLuna Cocina Mexicana restaurant. Had shrimp tacos to try something different. Very tasty, homemade food. Nice portion. Customers looked like locals versus tourists which is usually a good sign. Busy place, even on a weekday, another good sign. Indoor and outdoor seating. Lively atmosphere

This was a good dinner, I got out ordered. Dinner companion had lobster enchiladas and I wished I did. I'll be back...

Decided to stop by and try out this restaurant. Walking into restaurant reminded me of Mexico. Beautiful flowers, tile floors, entire ambiance etc. Menu offered an excellent variety of food moderately priced. We thoroughly enjoyed the food we ordered: Guacamole Picosito, Tacos Arracheros, Enchiladas Verdes, and, of course, for desert we ordered Tres Leches. The only negative: service was slow and music was loud. We will definitely return.

The service is excellent. Try the cabrito. There are not that many up scale restaurants that serve it that I have found. All the food is fantastic. Not your traditional San Antonio menu.

My husband voiced a craving for good cheese enchiladas. We were in Lincoln Heights for a doctors appointment so stopped at Soluna at Broadway and Sunset. We had a delicious lunch with outstanding service and a few extra tidbits to sample. A couple of weeks later someone asked on our neighborhood newsletter, "Next Door," recommendations for the best fajitas. Several respondents said Soluna. I picked up an order to go so we could try them. We agree that they are delicious. The meat is very tender and seasoned well. I would like grilled onions and green peppers with them to make them perfect. The dish included shredded lettuce and guacamole. I would suggest packing the tortillas separately in foil because by the time you get home the tortillas are soggy. SallyB

Last night I met with two friends at Soluna for dinner and drinks. It was a beautiful Indian summer evening so we wanted to sit outside. There was a 30 minute wait so we were told to wait in our car or have a seat under the canopy in the parking lot. We opted for the parking lot and asked the hostess to send a waiter over so we could order drinks. A waiter quickly appeared and took our order for a round of chispas (translation: delicious margaritas that pack a punch!) We enjoyed our chispas in the shade of the canopy and were soon seated at table in the courtyard. Jessie was our waitress and she took great care of us. The chips and salsa were wonderful and our entrees were absolutely delicious. I can personally vouch for the seafood stuffed poblano pepper. Yum! So fresh and loaded with seafood. After a another round of chispas, we called it a night. My friend and I headed home (30 minutes away). As we pulled into my driveway, I discovered that my diamond bracelet was not on my wrist whereupon I totally FREAKED OUT. I will not divulge what my husband paid for this bracelet, but I will tell you it is 5 carats of diamonds and I've had it for less than TWO MONTHS. My friend advised me to immediately call the restaurant, which I did. I told the man who answered that I lost my bracelet and where I had been sitting 45 minutes earlier and that I had also visited the ladies room before we left. He took my name and number. Not two minutes later, he called to tell me they had found my bracelet! Hallelujah, praise the LORD! Since it was already nearly 10pm and I live 30 minutes away, I asked if I could come get it the next day. He told me to ask for Eduardo. Today I drove back to Soluna and asked for Eduardo. Eduardo went to the back and retrieved an envelope and handed it to me. Inside was my beautiful diamond bangle bracelet. I asked him if he knew who found it, but he did not. I am profoundly moved by the honesty of the Soluna staff. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!!! 🥰

This was my second trip to San Antonio and I had to go back to Soluna for dinner! The food is really good and the atmosphere is fun and interesting. A mix of local and visitor guests gives it a fiesta kind of feel. The service is great, the haute cuisine is amazing and the margaritas are the best ever! a must in SA

MUST GO!! If you enjoy Mexican food and Margaritas, there is no better place in San Antonio. Friday nights and Saturday nights are absolutely crazy, but they wouldn’t be packed if they weren’t good (right?). I’ve never had food here we didn’t love. Any of the snapper plates are scrumptious (the one “al ajillo” is my personal favorite. Seriously. Go see for yourself; you won’t be disappointed.

Starts with the Hot Salsa ~ it is soooo good! Just wonderful! Then, they have chispas, which are their margaritas and the mango was excellent and sneaks up on you too! Very good tacos and enchiladas. Great little patio to enjoy the outdoors and very friendly and professional staff. Would highly recommend this place and will definitely go back!

I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in San Antonio. Food is great. Wait staff is really good. Fun place to have a great time.

Great service, good food, nice atmosphere and reasonably priced. While visiting SA met some local friends for lunch and was not disappointed. The food was well prepared and the servings were generous but not overwhelming. Will certainly return when back in SA

we had the best meal here! really authentic and tasty Mexican fare. every single thing we had was delicious. great margaritas!

This is not the Tex-Mex that San Antonio is famous for, it is the original Mexican style recipes. The "Un Poquito De Todo" is one of the best to try because as the name implies, you get a little taste of many items on the menu, but it comes on two plates so go hungry. It is all good but the borracho beans are amazing. The tortilla chips were thick and not crispy and the "blackened" salsa had an odd flavor. The hot salsa was creamy and good but hot. We combined the two and it was also very good (and not so hot). Carne Adobada is one of my favorites but their version was very dark and overly sweet. The Quesadillas were also very good. The margaritas were excellent but a little steep at $11 for the house version. One caution, if you go online to look at the menu, the actual menu pricing is significantly higher. For example, the online lists the margarita at $8.5 and would be a fair value at that price. It also has an outdoor dining area but you may need to wait until the evening or cooler months to enjoy this area.

Our first visit: Very extensive menu. Partner had enchiladas and I had avocado filled with lump crab and shrimp over romaine lettuce. Several avocado & crab dishes on menu so I asked server for recommendation. Gallardo made his recommendation for the one with the fresh herb vinaigrette. He was correct. He seemed to really enjoy helping his customers and was very friendly. Also had the churros with ice cream for dessert --- serving is large and nice size for 2 people. Although restaurant is a little pricey we knew that going in as had looked at menu in advance. Restaurant very crowded for a Wednesday night and we had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. VERY NOISY, especially when seated in area with two large groups. Decor and lighting fixtures over the bar are unique. Outdoor seating area looks comfortable but it was too chilly for outside seating. Parking lot is very crowded and not well lit at night.

Really attractive location, light and bright, and the meal was delicious. Huge menu and definitely more traditional Mexican & South American, which is a nice change. I had the lobster enchiladas which were outstanding, but every one of our party of 6 were pleased with their choices. The salad with the shrimp and lobster looked really good too. Great margaritas and service. Can't wait to return.

Soluna has salsa in 3 varieties, even mild for those of us who cannot handle the spicy ones. Their appetizers are tasty and well presented. We had a big group and shared 2 platters of them and I could not say what was best, both the shrimp and chicken ones I tried were tasty. For an entree I ordered the Poblano Al Carbon, a mild pepper stuffed with shredded chicken, the sauce was tasty but quite spicy, Next time I will order it with sour cream or a side of guacamole. Everyone in our very large party was pleased with what they had chosen - this restaurant is consistently good.

Haute cuisine Mexican food. Margaritas are also great. Owned by the same family the runs El Mirasol, but a higher cuisine. This is another must visit if in San Antonio. If you have a family, go to El Mirasol, friends and biz, go to Soluna. Great food, atmosphere, and people.

OH My WORD! Absolutely the best breakfast huevos con chorizo I have ever had! It was so delicious I could not eat it fast enough! This is my first visit - it will be my new fav for breakfast. I’ll come back for dinner too.

So last night we went out to dinner at Soluna. A nice little Mexican restaurant on Broadway in San Antonio. Janie and Adam both ordered the "safe" Guisado with beans and rice. This was a very well prepared dish and was consumed with relish by both of them. I perused the menu and my gaze was caught by something I had never seen nor heard of! Chile en Nogada. I have to confess, I'm not sure I was ready for the flower! The dish consisted of: Poblano pepper filled with sautéed beef, pork, almonds and a combination of dried fruit. Topped with almond cream and pomegranate. Served at room temperature. With rice and borracho beans on the side. It was awesome. Tasty, rich, it looked like a dessert, but it wasn't sweet! It was just very delectable! I enjoyed it thoroughly. If you are ever feeling like an epicurean adventure, stop by and try this. You won't be sorry. Excellent ambiance, awesome service, amazing food! Highly recommended!

First time in SA. Looked up restaurants in the area that had good reviews and came here. Plenty of parking, great menu and food and the server was so helpful.

I lived most of my life in Southern California. Traveled extensively in Mexico. Unfortunately I have lived over teo decades in the Southeast and generally a certain fast food brand is defined in my area as "Mexican food". Before leaving for San Antonio, a soldier I met who was from this area recommended Soluna's. He was not wrong. Soluna's understood GF limitations, not only that, the mole was incredible, my fish taco's were excellent, and my son's enchilada's were the best he had ever eaten (his words). Not too far from Lackland AFB either.

We went here last Saturday to meet with family. The service was superb, the skinny margaritas delicious and the food was amazing. We will return

Jesse and Jerry operate the finest Mexican Restaurants in South Texas. This is gourmet Mexican - not Tex-Mex. Oh sure, you can get cheese enchiladas here - you can even pick your cheese - but there's probably a dozen other types of enchiladas to choose from. My favorite dish is Tacos Arrancheros - your choice beef or chicken (both are great). They even serve a different sauza for lunch than for dinner - and at dinner they offer two to choice from. Warning - only one Margarita if your not used to Tequila - two is the max for anyone and a designated driver is highly recommended. The Margaritas are wonderful and very potent! If you visit San Antonio and want true Mexican GOURMET Food - stay off the River and visit Soluna on Broadway in Alamo Heights (just inside North Loop 410).

The beer is cold, chips and salsa good. The food is just average. My guacamole was not nearly as green as it should have been and the cerviche not great. Everything else was okay.

Good, not great. The tortillas were a highlight, you get to watch them being fresh made. The chips were also very good. Need to try the margarita next time, but the ice tea was good.

Soluna is always a MUST for us when we come to San Antonio! I have tried something different each time, and am never disappointed.

Soluna is a standout restaurant in a city full of mexican restaurants. Casual, but very pretty with lots of greenery and a nice indoor or solarium setting. Fans and margaritas keep you cool on hot days on the patio. The food is very good and way above the standard Tex-Mex. Exceptional borracho beans and enchiladas. I like to go there with family for lunch or dinner. A very good bar also. Excellent homemade salsa.

I had never been to this restaurant, but stopped off for lunch while I was running errands in the area. I was pleasantly surprised. The decor and ambiance are pleasant, and the waitstaff were friendly and attentive. I ordered the beef fajita taco plate, which came speedily. The beef in the tacos was melt-in-your-mouth tender and very tasty. It came with an avocado salad, refried beans and rice, and my waitress brought me a complimentary small bowl of fideo soup, which was also very good. This restaurant is a bit more expensive than some other Mexican places (my entree was $12), but I think it's worth the money.

Been here twice now, not cheap but good value. The food both visits has been very good. San Antonio and South Texas in general is the place to get Mexican food. In a sea of competition this place is a gem. The food is excellent, beautifully presented and accompanied by a delicious variety of hot sauces from somewhat mild to wow that has a kick. Service has been excellent both times and the margaritas not missing their fair share of tequila. Very attractive establishment with lush landscaping and an outside seating area and bar. Nice place for a date or a family gathering just designate a driver before diving into the margaritas

Six adults and a baby all loved the atmosphere on the patio of Soluna. Though it was a chilly night, it was quite comfortable. The food was outstanding! Each of us had something different and we all enjoyed what we had ordered. The wait staff was attentive - rarely did our water glasses get less than half full and the chips were constantly replenished.

Living a block away from this great restaurant for years, this review was long overdue. Many a wonderful happy hours, family lunches, date nights, and business lunches have gone unreviewed. Currently, my favorite is the "enchiladas de langosta" aka lobster enchiladas- if you love both, just try them. The caldo de pollo aka chicken soup is better than my mother's. I've tried most everything- all dishes are authentic to their region. Don't leave without the chispa! As a Airbnb host, I send all my guests here and they all love it!!!

I am a fan of chili verde and their version of this dish is right at the top of my list. Pork was very tender and the sauce tasty. Definitely will return on my next trip.

I hate to promote this gem. I've been multiple times over the past few years and am always looking forward to returning. Good service and amazing food are routine. The lobster quesadillas and nachos are fantastic. The chispas are amazing.

Soluna is a very pretty restaurant with a unique fun tropical decor. The service was very attentive and the food good. I ordered the Enchiladas Soluna, which was pretty good. We had an enjoyable dinner with friends. I would go back and recommend it to others.

We "rescued" friends from an Assisted Living facility and took them to Soluna's because it was their favorite, and was a winner (again). Food and service really good! Only problem is uneven surfaces in parking lot presents issues for limited mobility customers who need a cane to walk- lots of trip hazards!

Had received a recommendation saying the best margaritas were here so we decided to go went drinks and dinner on a Monday evening. We were seated immediately and chips and a fire roasted salsa was brought along with water and menus. We ordered premium margaritas, and a Michelada with corona along with guacamole and queso. The server brought us more chips with our drinks and the two dips and made sure our salsa was filled. We ordered our entrees - chicken enchiladas, poblano quesadilla and pork with mushrooms & green salsa. The entrees came and the server made sure the water glasses were filled. Everything looked so good and the plates were so big it was difficult to fit them on the table. The server remained empty dishes from the queso and guacamole to help make room. Each of our entrees were delicious. The pork I had was smothered in a tasty green chili sauce. The poblano quesadillas came loaded with cabbage and toppings, and the enchiladas came theee to the plate with cilantro, chipotle and poblano sauces. The Spanish rice was moist and the refried beans were very smooth. The service was fantastic. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available. The entire meal with drinks for four adults along with queso and guacamole came to $150. Portions were very generous and we left completely satisfied.

Great drinks... Great food... Great service... (And great plants!) I held out for years because the parking always looks like a challenge and I missed the French restaurant that occupied this location years ago, but once I tried Soluna, I finally understood why it's so popular.

Really outstanding TexMex & Mexican with top notch margaritas. Quite a gem! Chile rellenos were great as well. Nice Seafood options too

Took an elderly couple from their assisted living for lunch at Soluna with great results! This was my first visit but won't be my last! All four of us were impressed-except portions were too large for older folks.

Recommended by a local we met playing golf; a great suggestion! From greeting to goodbye this place was excellent. Sat on patio, heat lamps provided perfect heat on a cool day. The green sauce salsa had great flavor and spice. The Barbacoa breakfast tacos were excellent flavor and accompanied by borracho beans which were a perfect combination. The Huevo Poblano was very good, topped with an egg and the green sauce made it very flavorful. Great service and margaritas.

I've loved Soluna since it opened. I had friends in from Seattle & he loves Mexican food--pretty much non-existent in their neck of the woods. We sat on the gorgeous patio, which a a guaranteed stress-reducer. Jesus was properly attentive, the 'ritas were wonderful & all of our "peculiarities" were honored, and the food was wonderful, as always. My woman guest has an onion allergy & her crab entree had red onions in it. Jesus promptly gave her a different entree as he had told her there were no onions. It was, they said, the perfect meal to end their visit.

Had the best Carne Esada I've ever had. Wife had Spinach Enchiladas with Creamy poblano sauce and it was excellent also. Bar is small. This is a white table cloth restaurant. Good food with good portions.

Came here with a group and we tried a variety of dishes. The food was average, some dishes were a little flavorful but overall rather bland. Would not come back, while the menu looks interesting the taste of the dishes we had to need match the menu. If this was a restaurant down of the riverwalk it would be acceptable for the flavor and price but for where it is not. Head on over to ritterman near fort san houston for better mexican food and alot cheaper.

There are a lot of options for Tex-Mex in San Antonio and I have been to an reviewed most of them. I stumbled across Soluna accidentally and I must say.... I'm glad that I did. This building was the location for the first Chuy's Tex-Mex years ago and once Chuys moved out (due to great prosperity), I never thought to return to this location. Well... I'm glad that I did because this restaurant has got it going on! The food is fabulous and so is the service. They have several unique dishes too. It is definitely worth your while to journey in to this hidden gem. It is a little pricey; however... it is worth it. This has a busy bar scene so it is not the best place to bring children during the evening. Also... there is usually a line of people waiting to get in. No worry.. they move the line pretty quickly and you can. Step up to the bar for a drink while you wait. They make excellent Margaritas! Pay attention when you pull in to the parking lot at night. It is very dark and the lot is usually packed in tight. It appears to be secure but again.. don't run over somebody! Yup.. This is a nice change-up from the other Tex-Mex places in town.

Dropped in twice recently after it was recommended by a friend who said this is a very good restaurant. I was not disappointed. The place was crowded but we were seated within a couple of minutes. The margaritas are some of the best in town and the appetizers are excellent. They have won numerous awards for their salsa.... They have several flavors and they are excellent. They offer Tex-Mex but also unique dishes from Mexico. The adobo pork dish was excellent. Also, the. Poblano with seafood is quite tasty. Prices are reasonable considering the food quality and portions are generous. The wait staff is mature, professional, knowledgeable and very accommodating. They work hard and are very polite. Service for drinks and appetizers was fast! This is a hidden gem just on the edge of Alamo Heights. Enjoy!

Our first visit to Soluna. Service was great. Margaritas were the best I've had. Good food and good time all around!
Loved the food!!!
Tried this restaurant based on a recommendation from another unrelated business. Visited on a cold, rainy night so no outdoor seating. But inside was cozy and comfortable. My waiter was fantastic and the food was sooooo good. Everything from drinks to dessert had great flavor.
