I have mixed feelings here and wish I could give a 3.5 but a 3 felt would've been unfair. The drinks were beautiful, creative (even magical), and had a great taste. The ambience if magical and beautiful, we dined in the secret bar. The food was really a mixed bag. The appetizers were my favorite, we had corn ribs, and brussel sprouts. My daughter had the Salmon Curry and loved it. I had the Steak and to be $49 I've definitely had better, It absolutely lacked flavor and wasn't the best cut of meat. I've had far better steak and usually at that price point it's a pretty good cut of meat. I will give them a try fro Brunch but definitely not Dinner again.

Like being in Wonderland. The food was very good, beautiful presentation. This is a really fun place to go to - they have two restaurant areas, the main restaurant which is bigger and has the tea which you can reserve, and next door, is smaller but still cool. This would be great for out of town guests or if you are looking for something different.

So beautiful when you walk in. The neighborhood is sketchy so it was so nice to walk into a beautiful restaurant. Delicious. I got the lemon ricotta pancakes which were recommended in a blog, Girl & a Passport. My sister got the son and Garden omelette platter is so delicious too. Nice staff, huge tv screens on the wall & beautiful Asian decor.

We ate brunch at Son & Garden. Reservations are required along with proof of covid vaccinations. The area is located in sketchy downtown San Francisco spot but you can park on the street. Ordered French toast, cheese Omelet, side order of bacon and star of the show - Cloud 9 cotton candy cocktail.

Googled Best Brunch spots in San Fran, Son & Garden was at the top of the Thrill List, so we gave it a try. Awesome! Really popular on the weekends with cocktails served with cotton candy, but the star of the show was the food. The Fried Chicken Benedict was well as the Ricotta Pancakes were both terrific! Suggest making a reservation because there’s a line up to get a table.

Splendid food, friendly staff and reasonable prices and cozy atmosphere - nothing more to expect! I highly recommend it

The negative points outweigh the positive aspects of my visit here. Positives: (1) Despite a lot going on, we were accommodated. (2) The restaurant, food and cutlery were definitely on point. Price is technically on the higher end, but worth it per se. Negatives (1) I was required to show my PASSPORT before being able to enter the restaurant. I wasn’t even going to drink alcohol. I had my Driver’s License (German-with international translation/booklet) and German ID with me, but they specifically stated they wanted to see my PASSPORT, which I didn’t have on me. They eventually allowed me in, but stated I should always carry my passport. This is the first place where I have encountered such policy (I’m a tourist who has visited SFO several times; I have had no issues with presenting either of the two above mention documents as a form of Identification). *This policy of PASSPORT CHECKING FOR FOREIGN GUESTS is not stated anywhere on their website. If this is a policy of the establishment as the one employee said, it should be made known public so others won’t face what I had to. (2) The server presented me the bill literally as I took my last bite of food. I had not requested the bill at all. The server had no remorse and wanted us out. He didn’t even bother saying anything when spoken to. This is definitely an insult to the customer and just a no go (period). Despite the hype, I wouldn’t come back as I felt very unwelcomed. *I did E-Mail the restaurant and tried to establish contact with them about this matter, but have not gotten any reply.

Number of flowers hanging from the ceiling and walls--over the top. Annoying scent from the candles on the tables, which we asked the wait staff to extinguish--overbearing. We found the restaurant too noisy for us to have a conversation. The food was plated beautifully but, again, over the top colorfully. Food was tasty enough but nothing special. I ordered the cauliflower veggie burger with greens on the side.

Son & Garden is an absolutely beautiful place. Not only the food is delicious but also a perfect spot for photos. That's what I was looking for in envibe app and found. A little bit expensive but definitely worth going there.

It was a cute"been there done that" experience but the service was lacking. They tried to sit the 3 of us at a large group table with two others side by side so we'd never be able to visit. Even though there were 3 other tables open. We asked to sit at one of those and they obliged. Never got part of our order or asked if we wanted anything else. The bimpinbap was great as well as the French toast. Super sweet drinks but it's the hype so. I will try to go back for tea experience. Just wish this place was in a better area. We walked there but had to traverse the homeless encampments most of the way and almost had no appetite by then. Drive if you can.

I'm glad I stumbled across this restaurant during my recent solo travel trip in San Francisco. Is it in the best location?...No, but it wasn't the worst. It is very chic in the inside. Very much girly girl tea party. Great for photos! They are very generous with the food and the drink I had was delicious and refreshing. It was definitely a summertime drink named "Into the Forest". The chicken sausage was ok and so were the eggs over easy. The highlight for me was the deep fried French Toast. Some of the best I've had! The right amount of crunch and not overly sweet. I can definitely visit here again. The staff were very nice!
Lovely place with amazing food
I loved having brunch here. We came on a Sunday around 11am, so needless to say there was a long wait. But boy was it worth it! Food was amazing - The My Son burger was one of the best burgers I have EVER had in my life! My partner had the chicken benedict dish and said it was also delicious. It's no wonder it is such a popular location. Must try when visiting SF!
