I was heading backwards from the Sixth floor museum to catch DART and ran into this place. I hadn’t had any brisket on this trip yet so couldn’t pass it up. I had there new smokehouse brisket sandwich. The brisket was a little drier than fan I like but it was tasty and the fresh bun delicious. My beer was served in a mason jar for that old west look. I’d go there again and try a different brisket or their ribs. Prices were reasonable.

It’s been a few years and they have not been kind to the original . The brisket was rubbery and dry, tasteless in fact. The cole slaw tasted as if it had been factory made at least a week ago. The turkey was that processed turkey breast - rubbery . Aha- the onion rings were superb greaseless and full of flavor Not worth the Uber .

I was eleven years old when my dad first took me to Sonny Bryan's. Well fast forward 50 years and I am still going to Sonny Bryan's. along the way taking my daughters and grand daughters. I didn't think that it could get much better, but wait,,,,, on today;s visit for brisket and onion rings, i was talking to the manager, Dan. and He told my wife and I that they put in a second pit and are now open 24 /7. So where ever the urge strikes,, head on down to the original Sonny Bryan's and get your que on.

I went at 10 pm, and they had everything I was looking for and the quality of the bbq and chicken were amazing, BBQ/sides were ready and hot, it was a good experience

Good food, reasonably priced. We had the combo plate to share with a side of onion rings. Delicious. Friendly service too.

Stopped in for lunch and was a bit let down. Ordered sliced brisket and it came out with a hair. Had it re done and after the wait and redo the brisket was somewhat bland. For a bbq joint to be around this long I would think the food would be great. The other thing I wasn't happy about was the amount of flies. Everyone sitting in my area kept having to shoo flies while trying to eat. I will say the onion rings were delicious. Unfortunately, this was the first and last visit.

No atmosphere, had to serve yourself (tip still expected). Onion rings excellent, brisket in roll ok. Soft drinks all tasted of bleach, I suspect machine cleaning fluid. Ended up with an upset stomach. VERY OVERRATED

Great barbeque place close to UTSW. Great food, atmosphere and service! They even hosted our Epilepsy Foundation Board meeting. Great place to bring us all together. Thanks Sonny Bryan's!!!

Stopped in for take out. Excellent meat including the ribs, brisket and turkey. On the side, get the onjon rings. Will return.

Recommended by both our hotel van driiver and a friend who is a local. This is the original building for this place. Very unique and old Texas. In one building you order and eat in another building surrounded with garage doors contaning wooden tables. They opened a coupke of doors and the breeze was quite pleasant. Very conducive to larger groups. Staff very friendly. Food was great except the turkey was dry. Ribs perfect. They give it to you on a round pizza pan to carry to your table. Limited menu but true to Texas BBQ. Open 24 hrs. Only negative was a vagrant who came in twice to ask for money after being chased off by the manager. Food is all homemade. Coleslaw and pot salad I could actually eat with my allergy to onions. This place has 4 locations but if you want authentic atmosphere, come to this location on Inwood.

In Dallas for business and this place was recommended. Good BBQ but the fryer was broken which was a bit disappointed. Cool dive spot though.

Ate dinner with a friend on a Tuesday night. Definitely consider this a hole in the wall joint (which is where you usually get the best stuff). Had the 1/2 pound platter with chopped brisket and jalapeño sausage, Cole slaw and beans. Everything was excellent. Meats were tender and tasty. Sides were also good. Recommend the beans for sure. Following day my clothes still smell of smoke from the cookers.

On my first trip to Texas, I was determined to try some authentic brisket. Stopped into Sonny Bryan's Smokehouse for lunch. It was amazing. Brisket fell apart, so well cooked and such great taste. Place is pretty small but feels real. I would highly recommend. No brisket since has been near as good.

This venerable joint gets forgotten in all the hype over new BBQ concepts. No celebrity chefs here but the smoky walls and wooden chairs and concrete floors say this is all about years of no frills know how of cooking meat well. I had the daily special. Each day for $8. And change is an offering. Tuesday is a large baked potato with meat of your choice on top. I had the brisket and all the toppings. Cole slaw on the side. All perfect and good value. And a landmark joint.

Hole in the walls have THE best food. Open 24 hours we went around midnight and could smell the food and see the smoke before we got out of the car. Its a hole in the wall with classroom seating but the food makes up for its lack of aesthetics. The smoked jalapeno sausage was excellent, the ribs were excellent and they make homemade rolls that melt in your mouth. I also ordered french fries and baked beans and I have no complaints. Everything was excellent.

Absolutely phenomenal ribs! The onion rings are pure fire too! Youve got to try this place! Boom! 5 stars! I got the brisket, turkey and ribs and WOW!

Sonny Bryan's on Inwood is akin to Mecca when it comes to BBQ in Dallas. The original location on Inwood Road near Southwest Medical and TWU still has the concrete floors, oscillating fans, and grade school desks it had 40 years ago. Bottles of Barbecue Sauce are still stacked on flattop warmers, and they still call your first name or initials when your order is ready. My wife and I have eaten here twice in the last two weeks and can't get over how good the food is. We are purists so "two Sliced Beef Sandwiches and an order of Onion Rings" is all it takes to make us happy. When I first started visiting Sonny's they would close when they sold out of 400 lbs. of Brisket (sometimes 1:00 or 2 PM). Now their hours are more predictable. That is one change for the better.

Had to go to the original Sonny Bryan’s while in Dallas. Cool spot with seating like when I was a kid in school and overall great BBQ!

Had a lunch here in October on a Texas trip and got the the daily special. The food was pretty good from a BBQ perspective. The main item I just site is the seating area which is detached and also was a little dirty/not cleaned up when we were there. it seems like they did a good takeout business so not everybody eats there in person. Did find their prices to be good value for the money.

Dallas native here. Had lunch there today for the first time in probably 15 years and it hasn't changed at all: In a congested area where it's hard to get into and out of the parking lot from the busy street, grossly insufficient parking, cramped seating, restrooms located outside with no signage inside (you just have to "know" they're there) that look like they're from a 1940's Texaco station and haven't been cleaned this century. After enduring all of the above hardships you would expect a great meal, but what I had (sliced brisket sandwich, cole slaw, onion rings) was just average. I can only conclude that their continued success depends on those who think that any crowded, dumpy place that is hard to get to must have great food.

My sisters and I stopped for lunch while in Dallas on a Sunday. There weren't many places open. The waitress was very friendly and suggested we try the platter with assorted meats. It was good, but not the best. The restaurant was empty. The bathrooms in the basement were creepy.

It was a divey joint but food was great, my husband even liked the BBQ sauce (and he doesn't do condiments except ranch lol)

Was visiting a friend in a nearby hospital and searching for something to eat after 9pm. Checked on my ph and found Sonny Bryan’s original was open 24/and right around the corner. I’ve been here off and on my whole life. I like sliced beef, trimmed of fat. Ordered two sliced beef sandwiches. Drove home, 25 min waiting to devour my sandwiches only to be hugely disappointed. I barely had enough edible meat to make even one sandwich. Fat and charred ends. Two things some people actual eat and enjoy except Not me. I want smoky flavor, moist not dried out beef and put the fat and the charred/burnt ends out with the trash. For over $10 a piece I was not happy. That’s pricey fat. Won’t go back for quite a while. My suspicion is don’t go get bbq at a smokehouse after 4-5pm. You’ll be eating yesterdays dried out remnants instead of freshly smoked brisket.

Great brisket, jalapeño sausage and ribs. Smelled fantastic as soon as we got out of the car. One of the must visit historic bbq places.

My husband and I went to Sonny Bryant because of all of the great reviews. However, our visit was very disappointing. The the smoke turkey did not taste smoked the chicken was too salty the beans and potato salad was bland. My husband had the onion rings that had no flavor and the brisket was not good either as if they used no dry rub or smoke flavor.

Manager was rude to her employee especially I didn’t like how she talk to them like they were slow which made my food taste bad I potty the woman

I was going home from our AVID conference and I noticed this place close to budget rental. I had time to kill and had finished gym time so i thought .....DEAD ANIMAL FLESH time. As I passed this restaurant, what caught my eye was the sign said 24/7 BBQ and it brought harp music and chime sounds..a 24/7 smoker...nice. As I entered, I felt I hit a time machine and was transported back to the 70's (look at pictures). Its a building with 2 sections and both were hot. No beef products only pork so I ordered rib plate with onion rings and beans. The beans were ok needed some more sugar and bacon. The onion rings were huge yet needed more deep fryer time. The ribs were tender and almost falling off the bone with a slight smoke taste. You really couldn't taste the rub and the ribs were small. It was ok experience for $17 bucks. NOTE: Place had flies and it was hot. Might try again

Staff was awesome and offered recommendations, checked on me to ensure that my visit was perfect. Food was out of this world delicious, BBQ sauce was tangy, meat was super tender and smoke ring was proof that a smoker was used!!!

It was just okay. Nothing special. I understand that this location is the original but it was look run-down and semi dirty and the seating areas. I almost did not want to stay and eat but I did

We ended up here when we found out the BBQ place we intended to go to was temporarily closed due to a fire. Selection was good and all of us had more food than we could eat. Good food at a fair price!

I was in town for a conference and decided since in Texas and a BBQ lover I should have some Texas BBQ. Best choice I made on my trip. As as someone living in the Bay Area this place was incredible. I had almost forgotten what really good BBQ tasted like till eating here as my favorite place, around 70 miles south of me in Castroville, run by a real Texan had closed many years ago. Now I am spoiled and will have to put up with the crap they call BBQ in the Bay Area unless I can perfect my technique and make it myself. It is not that it is bad food. It just is not real Texas style BBQ. I ordered a small combo plate with ribs and could barely finish it. All was good but the best was the brisket and pulled pork. The sides were great as well. I was told by the hotel that this was good but not the best but you could have fooled me. My test of really good BBQ is BBQ that stands on its own and does not need any additional sauce. This passed with flying colors. I only used the sauce to taste it. The peach cobbler was also delicious. When I got the bill I simply could not believe it. Such a meal would cost me double in the Bay Area and would not have been near as good.

My friend and I visited Sonny’s after the guide on the hop on, hop off bus recommended it. We shared a platter of pulled chicken, sliced brisket, pork ribs and two sides. It was a generous helping of tasty, tender, smoked meats that we both enjoyed. The service was swift and friendly and the prices are mid-range. Glad we finally experienced our Texas barbecue.

I got some of the brisket, pulled chicken, jalapeño sausage, potato salad and baked beans. Brisket and chicken was dry. Jalapeño sausage was amazing. The house BBQ sauce was really good. All in all, not a terrible place to have BBQ but I did expect better.

Needed a quick snack before getting a shuttle to the airport. We split a meal of brisket, pork ribs, smoked turkey, beans, potato salad, and a roll. The turkey was so juicy and tender, it was my favorite part of the meal. I did enjoy the atmosphere. The restaurant looks like it was cobbled together from an old drive thru.

Chopped beef sandwich sooo good and onion rings yummy too! Sand which is on a roll type bun, not thick like a hamburger bun and makes the sandwich not so heavy. Large onion rings enough for 4!

My friend and I visited the JFK Museum, took a stroll through Wild Bill’s Western Shop (wow, smell the leather!!!) and stopped here for some quick southern BBQ for dinner. With a rather limited menu, they still have something for most tastes- potatoes, onion rings, potato salad, slaw, pulled pork, ribs, sandwiches, etc. quick and simple- they have ample seating space with mostly tables and high tops, with a few booths in the back. Bathrooms are in the basement (elevator available) and the building has sort of an old cool ambiance to it. Enjoy!

The decor of this place screamed old time BBQ shack, which I loved. I got the brisket sandwich and coleslaw, which were both fantastic. The guy taking the order wasn’t very friendly, but everyone else seemed pleasant. Plenty of parking. I was just expecting a little more all around from a place like this.

Looking for a quick bite to eat. Came across this place. Always hesitant when ordering lemon pepper wings but these wings and fries didn't disappoint. Very good.

We have been eating here for decades. I once stopped here before a flight out of Love Field and took my sliced brisket sandwich on the plane. Everyone asked, "Where did you get that!" They now are open 24/7, and maybe that's where the problem lies. This time the brisket was not as tender or as flavorible as I had before, and the sauce was runny. It was after the lunch rush, so maybe they served brisket that wasn't quite ready. This location is an institution, so we will go again, and hope it's back to our expectations.

Was only in Texas for a couple days and wanted to make sure to have some BBQ. I was pleased with my choice, especially the ribs and chicken. I tried the brisket also and thought it was ok. Overall, I was happy with it and I would go back

I stopped for dinner. Quintessential TX roadhouse, 2 meat plate with 2 sides, 3/4 lb plate they call it, with a soft drink, tax and tip, 20$. Not worth the price. Brisket was OK, not too hot though, the jalapeno sausage was lukewarm, the sides were coleslaw and fries (these, the hottest thing in the plate), although very few of them (like a MacDs small red box). But fries were good. Well seasoned and with the peel, well cooked. They were the highlight of the plate! So, totally unremarkable with good meat but not well handled by the kitchen (clearly the brisket and the sausage were at different spots under the lamp, hence the difference in temperatures). And certainly not worth 20$.

I have been going here for YEARS!!!!! Probably close to 50. I am finally done. The last 4 visits the BBQ was flavor less and dry. What happened ? On each of the last 4 visits I kept thinking they were having an off day.... I don't think thats the case.

Not a fair review...we were visiting with a church group of about 80. Unfortunately we had previously eaten lunch so we weren't really hungry when we visited. We nibbled but didn't eat much. We didn't care for BBQ sauce they offered...was it ketchup based?

I had high hopes for this spot from all of the recommendations. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The pulled pork and pulled chicken did not have any smoke flavor. Both were very bland. The beef brisket was good. Baked beans had were very sweet. Onion rings were very good, as was the roll on the side. This place has a true dive atmosphere which I did think was pretty cool. Staff was very nice and helpful.

Sonny Bryan’s offered a breakfast menu which sounded like it could be good. Some bbq places actually make a decent breakfast and Sonny's is a Dallas institution! However breakfast is not their forte, and the food seemed to suggest that Sonny's was just working with what they had and not really trying to offer a legitimate breakfast. I ordered the breakfast sandwich which included sliced beef brisket, eggs & cheese on a soft hamburger-type bun. The eggs were the processed square kind. Hash browns on the side were actually tater tots. They were crisp on the outside and soft inside with just the right amount of salt. I thought they were fine but my husband was disappointed since he truly expected hashed browns.

Needed something to eat later at night on our last night on our trip to Dallas. Husband found this place. 24 hour BBQ. Man, was it worth it! God, the ribs were great. Very tender, fall off the bone. The pulled pork was really good. The baked beans were so/so, but the potato salad made up for it. The bbq sauce was sweet with some spice, which I like. The staff was very nice, and for what you pay, it is seriously a great value. If and when I am in Dallas again, we will be eating here again for sure.

A staple of the area and a must try. Smoke in the air and the ribs are wonderful. You have to try the sampler plate and brisket too. I just wish they prevent the pan handler s from walking in and begging for money. That must be a issue addressed. On of them scared my child and we were done.

Smoked absolutely perfext. Had the BBQ brisket...as tender as a young lamb. This was one of the best briskets i have had. Will be back

Late lunch on a Saturday - fairly slow. Ordered Ribs, pulled pork, brisket and chicken four two couples. Ribs were nicely smoked and quite tasty. Dallas seems to like their ribs sauced, I prefer dry rub to taste the smoked meat, and dip in sauce as needed. The brisket was very good as was the chicken. The fries, rings, and cole slaw were all very good as well. Certainly better than average BBQ we have found in Dallas. Friendly, comfortable casual atmosphere.

An old name in Dallas BBQ, but other places nearby are much better. Not enough places to sit or room to stand and wait. Prices too high. BBQ was good, but not worth the price, the wait, and the cramped space.

First visit to Sonny Bryans, and I'm hooked. I had a combo plate with pulled chicken and pork ribs. Both were tender and savory, not at all salty or greasy. The sauce complemented the meat perfectly. Good coleslaw, bad beans, really good bread. Plenty of good grub at a good price.

I like to try local places when I'm in town and looked for Texas style BBQ. Last month o tried Cousins BBQ and it was great. Went to Sonny's original location based on reviews. Its a vlassic hole in the wall place. I had pulled pork, brisket ,onion rings and baked beans. The meat had very little natural smoked flavor. The beans were bland as we're the onion rings. They did have great sweet tea.

Pulled pork sandwich was good, but not distinguished. Portions small. Sides were very small. Was expecting more. Waitress was attentive and friendly. Atmosphere was all right, nothing special. Would eat there again but not until trying other BBQ spots in Dallas.

We stopped here after a business at UTSW Med Center because it looked interesting (old school) and was close. Service was good and pretty prompt, prices reasonable. We both got the large combo plate and it was a lot of food. The pulled chicken was especially good. The potato salad had a few more pickles than I'd like but I think that's not too uncommon for BBQ spots. The sauce is kept warm and is stored in old Corona bottles. Definitely has some character. I'll be back on the next trip.

Visited the airport restaurant, was great had the breakfast and was pleased service good and food more then enough

I was hungry and knew it would be five-hours plus before I had any access to other-than-airplane food. And I LOVE 'Q! I figured I'd give this a shot. The menuboard offered all kinds of options and/but the '3-meat special' seemed to fit my hankering. Pulled Pork, Brisket and Sausage looked like a magic trio, along with Cole Slaw and 'Tater Salad. And the plate was reasonably piled. If there were any issues, I guess I would have appreciated just a bit more BBQ sauce. But otherwise it was a fine pate of vittles that went down smoothly. I'd do it again, and again, and...

Split between my girlfriend and me, we got the meat potato with pulled chicken, combo platter with ribs, pulled pork, and sliced brisket, coleslaw, and beans, and also onion rings. The potato was awesome. Pulled pork was terrific. The beans were tasty like chili. Ribs were good. And the brisket was ok. All had a good meaty Texas style flavor. But being a bbq lover, I didn't get blown away. Only went here because Mike Anderson's was closed. You should eat here if you are in the same position as we found ourselves in and don't want to go too further away from where Mike's are.

The chicken wings were hot and spicy. Loved the fried okra as well as the pork ribs. Very casual dining and is reasonably priced. Good local brew selections.

College students looking for reasonably priced meals that will fill you up-go here!!! Great food, good portions, good price! Would definitely recommend.

If you want good bbq but don't mind your surroundings, this place is for you. I appreciate the originality of the place. Just beware in the parking lot. We were met at our car by a lady asking for money for the liquor store next door. Would not go after dark.

Nostalgic old bbq joint near downtown. Nothing pretty to look at, but the food is terrific, the prices are reasonable. Staff is courteous and efficient.

A great Sliced brisket sandwich. You can taste the smoke well. Meat was moist and tender with the burned ends. There sauce is well balanced with sweet and tang. Cole slaw was excellent. Mac and cheese average but still good. Very friendly staff! At them end of the day.... A 5 in my book and the brisket is the Star!

I ordered 3 Chopped Beef Sandwiches 1/2 lb links Meat Potatoe And a full order of Onion Rings First off let me Say this, If your like me an typically smoke your own meat you will really understand why my Rating was 2 stars. The brisket was dry and bland with a hint of smoke. The buns are thick and this Sandwich NEEDS SAUCE. The Sausage was Not cooked on the smoker. More like a Convection cooker to me. The potatoe was over cooked Potatoes should be soft inside not in clumps. So if you often smoke your own meat or are used to eating meat that stands Alone without Sauce this place isn't for you. Why did I stop? It is 24hrs and I was Hungry. P.S The onion rings are HUGE, if you like Big onions dipped in flour and fried with out any type of season Eat Up.

Way downhill from it’s former glory. 24 hour service has turned this place into a smoke stained grease pit. Brisket sandwich was a disaster - I gave up half way through. First visited this place in the early 80’s and always held good memories but was sorely disappointed on a recent return. Not recommended. Rest in peace Sonny.

Apparantly there is a satellite one at the Dallas-Ft Worth International Airport, with the main restaurant listedcas 13 miles away from DWIA airporth It looked clean, and service was a bit too fast, as the main thrust of the staff seemed to be focused on closing time, instead of the food. AS a result, the shredded pork was lukewarm, ditto the very unremarkable french fries. The coleslaw was fresh, and had a good taste. But it seems like the staff were just going through the motions of being in the food business. Judging by the reviews of the main restaurant, that would be the first choice if you wanted the higher quality experience. I wanted to like the place, but the carelessness of the staff is what left a bad taste in my mouth. I don t routinely give out bad reviews, but this experience rate one. People spend a considerable amount of- money to fly, so you would think that servers in an airport atmosphere would be very aware of that. Hard pass next time at DFWI.

If you are looking for ambiance and table service you should continue your search. If you are looking for authentic real smoked BBQ with fresh sides then you have found a great place to eat. The BBQ brisket is top notch cooked perfect. The housemade Potato Salad hit the mark with flavor and texture. I really enjoyed the atmosphere as it bought me back to the 1970’s where we always went for the food not the ambiance Definitely a place I will visit again

My husband has been going to the Inwood Road Sonny Bryan’s since the 1970s. It is one of his favorites. He is no longer in Dallas regularly, but we came today. Not a lot has changed. Our chopped beef was so good and onion rings were amazing. They now have a rather large seating area with tables and chairs (back in the day it was just a few old style student desks.). They still serve their signature bbq sauce warm in old corona beer bottles. Fun and delicious visit.

Staff is very friendly. Brisket, ham and sausage were delicious and very tender. BBQ beans were reminiscent of something from a can, slaw and potato salad were great. The food was all served kinda luke warm but was very tasty. Iced tea was perfect.

Went to Sonny's the last day of my trip. It was highly recommended my locals and they were not wrong. Their Brisket and their Sausage is delicious. Their BBQ sauce is incredible. A different flavor from the BBQ I tried before. I am used to Tennessee style BBQ (which I love), but Sonny's has a different take on it and it is amazing. I know it is a franchise style restaurant, but they do their stuff very well. I took home some jars of their sauce and I put it on everything.

Stopped in for lunch after dropping off family at the airport. This is not a fancy place but the lunch was good and filling. I had a chopped brisket sandwich, which I slathered in the yummy bbq sauce that was available at the tables. Delicious! Good food. Good service!

60 years in business. Seven years I’ve been coming. Nothings new nothings changed still awesome barbecue at a reasonable price

Asked the concierge at our hotel about a good, local BBQ place and Sonny Bryan's was their choice. I had the brisket and pulled pork (excellent) but both of my colleagues had the jalapeno sausage (house specialty) and loved it. Also, splurge for their onion rings -- EXCELLENT.

Only had a few mins for a quick meal. This was a good choice. BBQ chicken and beef plate with 2 sides were very good.

We love Sonny Bryans and have been eating here for the last 40 years. Best BBQ Sauce in all of Texas.

Sonny Bryan’s Smokehouse is legendary is Dallas. You may judge it as the best BBQ you have eaten, but it is still very good. Visit this legendary place, you will be glad you did.

Ordered dinner plate combos from here (from Postmates) and was not disappointed. The plate came with 3 meats, 2 sides, and a roll. The pulled pork and brisket were both very good and the sausage was incredible! It was melt in your mouth tender and so full of flavor. The sides were pretty standard (tried the green bean casserole, mac & cheese, fries, and coleslaw).

Now that The Original Sonny's is open 24 hours a days(we guess to accommodate the medical community), something has suffered! The brisket was not as tender and tasty as it had been in the past; in fact, it was disappointing!! We've been eating at the original Sonny's for over 30 years, but this was not a good experience!

Everything was really good but the ribs, onion rings and fresh bread were outstanding. Definitely will be returning here on future trips

I enjoyed this place very much... On the way from the airport to the hotel.... And as a first timer to Dallas..... This is a must visit. Yummy yummy!

Great bbq as they have at all locations but the portion of brisket to potato was way smaller than the other stores give and this location is super small and really old and dirty. They need to bring it up to the standard of the one out at Alliance.

For the hype that surrounded this place the BBQ was subpar at best. The ribs tasted like lighter fluid and the Onion Rings were soggy and very disappointing.

First, there are two locations of Sonny Bryan's in Texas. This on is open 24/7, and I believe is the "original" one. The food and service are outstanding. The Brisket was amazing, so was the pulled-pork. The Apple-Cobbler dessert was also very good. The smoky flavor of the meat and the homemade BBQ sauces were perfect. You won't regret going here. There are lots of good BBQ places in Texas, and this is a very very good one. It's been around since 1910, and the great food/service is likely why!

Stumbled on this restaurant during a layover at DFW Airport. The BBQ was excellent. Everything was hot and served quickly. We tried the pulled pork, brisket, chicken and sausage. The Mac and Cheese and cole slaw were tasty, too. Check this place out if you have some time at DFW!

Service was great, the place was clean but the food was just average. Had high hopes for eating Texas BBQ while in Dallas. I've had better.

This is the original Sonny Bryan's Barbecue Restaurant which has been open for 40+ years and it's the Best in Dallas. Sonny's has opened several satellite restaurants around the city, but they are not in the same Universe as the original Sonny's. We would rather drive 15 miles to eat at the original than drive 1/2 mile to eat at the Sonny's in Richardson. Fantastic Beef and Ribs and Pork and Chicken...and everything!!!

Food is pretty good, didn’t care for the BBQ sauce, liked the pulled pork, also had brisket. Good slaw here.

Stopped in around six for dinner. Had fast service and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Our food was really good and the portion size was perfect. We had a fun experience.

Being a fan of Eastern North Carolina BBQ, I was skeptical, but the food was bangin'. Dont get the chopped brisket... get it sliced. Chopped brisket here is something I would describe as mutilated paste. Don't get me wrong, it tastes good, but I wouldnt do it again. And bless these Texans, Iced Tea is not SWEET TEA.

It was a dark and foggy night in Dallas. Seven of us had just flown in from faraway cities; not only were we hungry, but our arms were killing us! (Ba-dump-ching!) The van driver at our hotel saw us milling around the lobby, trying to figure out where to eat, and asked if we liked barbeque…‘cause, if we did, he knew the best BBQ place in town and would be happy to take us there. “Well, let’s go!” we all said at once. (Well, two of us said that, but the rest agreed to come along.) So the driver took us to Sonny Bryan’s Smokehouse on Inwood Road in Dallas; he also told us where its other locations are in the area, which meant nothing to us. According to the company’s website, Sonny Bryan’s Smokehouse has seven restaurants: six in the Dallas area and one in Ft. Worth. The Inwood Road location is “affectionately known as ‘The Original’” and “has proudly served patrons since 1958.” (This is a bit odd, because the logo on the company website includes the words “Since 1910.” Oh, well.) This location is said to be minutes from downtown Dallas and Love Field. And it is open 24 hours a day. The food is true BBQ: pulled chicken, pulled pork, turkey, ham, sausage, jalapeno sausage, chopped brisket, sliced brisket, and pork ribs. You can order combo plates, sandwich plates, rib dinners and a variety of family meals. Veggies are limited, however: BBQ beans, potato salad, coleslaw and French fries; and fried onion rings, which is listed separately on the menu. I imagine that vegans and vegetarians may not be too happy with the available choices. The nicely done website has a feature that shows the menu at each location. I did not check the menus at all locations, but I did notice that Sonny Bryan’s Fort Worth-Alliance Center location has more veggies on its menu. So, it may be worth your while to check the menu for the location you plan to visit. “The Original” Sonny Bryan’s Smokehouse on Inwood Road is in two, separate, but very close, one-level buildings which appear to be part of a former a gas station or car repair shop. One building holds the kitchen, a counter where customers stand in line to order meals, and some tables. The other building, which is where we ate, is called “The Mercedes” room (it looks a lot classier in the photo on the website than it does in reality, IMHO). This room has “retractable doors to be opened in pleasant weather.” Well, we call them “garage doors” where I come from, although they are all-window doors. The room seats 50 and it can be reserved for parties “for The Ultimate Texas Experience.” Hmmm. Based on the photos of other locations on the website, the newer Smokehouses look a lot classier. Our group selected a variety of menu items and shared them. The consensus was “really delicious” and “tastes great.” I agree 100%, although I found the pulled pork a bit dry, which I fixed by slathering on the BBQ sauce and some hot sauce. Also, the huge fried onion ring I tried was tasty, but I’m not overly fond of a lot of batter, and it had a lot of batter. So I was glad I did not order the onion rings. But that’s just me.

This was the worst BBQ that I have ever tasted! The food was dry, over-cooked, cold and tasteless. My chicken wings were almost raw. I returned them to the counter. The cook took the wings off my plate and re-cooked them. How unsanitary! The line was long. So, I thought that the food was going to be good. Blah, puke! They ran out of onion rings and rolls. The BBQ sauce for consumer use was in beer bottles. I can only imagine how the bottles were emptied. I husband only ate a small amount of his food. He was sick with diarrhea for the rest of the day. No disrespect, but some of you guys haven't eaten good BBQ if you think the BBQ here is good.

Love the ribs. They are mouth watering. The place is like a hometown store, but it was worth the stop.

We stopped in late evening and no one else was there. I was a little concerned. All of us really enjoyed what we had to eat. The sandwiches were great and you have to try the onion rings! Great recommendations from the staff and the beer was great as well. I would highly recommend giving this place a chance if you are anywhere close to the area. It is near Love Field and not far from downtown.

Sonny Bryan's Smokehouse has been serving up some legendary bar-b que in Dallas forever! I have loved this place since I was a kid. The food has always been consistanly good. I highly recommend it if your in the mood for some great bbq!

Sonny Bryan’s smokehouse is a place in Dallas history and is still pretty good. One must visit the original Sonny Bryan’s to experience the history and flavor of this place.

The Sonny’s on Inwood Road is the only location I will visit. This isn’t great Q, but it is certainly good and worth the stop. The brisket was moist and tasty, but the ribs were the highlight on this trip. Potato Salad was good as well. They don’t have Big Red so that is a negative.

Sonny Bryan's is a Dallas tradition. When i am cooking for visitors i always run down and get all the meat and sides. it is also good for dine in. the meat can not be beat and the onion rings are incredible. the hot rolls are so delicious you want to throw your diet to the wind.

I don't think I've ever found a BBQ restaurant that is open 24 hours/7 days a week......until now. And, the food is great! There is nothing fancy about this place....barely even a place to sit and eat but the service is quick and friendly. I actually had a "take-out" order that was ready in less than 5 minutes with "hot" onion rings there were delicious. I highly recommend those. You place your order and give your name...no payment until your food is ready. Beer is available. I highly recommend this place.

Worst BBQ I’ve ever had. Poor service. It’s 5pm and they are out of Mac n Cheese. Fries were cold and over salted. BBQ sauce was watered down to save a dollar. BBQ beans tasted like mashed pinto beans from a Mexican restaurant. Bread was stale and they had no butter for the bread. The sliced brisket was decent. The pulled pork was awful. Tasted lake it was pulled out of the refrigerator after a week and put in the microwave. This was the location at the airport. The staff was unapologetic. Oh, and they WANT A TIP…a TIP!!!! HA HA HA. Highly recommend avoiding this restaurant. Do NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

This is an authentic BBQ joint. No frills just good BBQ. The brisket, ribs and pulled pork were tender and a good amount of smile. Would come back again.

The original Sonny Bryan's smokehouse! Traditional place in Dallas, with great Texas BBQ and good draft beer.

Original place for some good BBQ. Cafeteria style, usual for Texas. Dallas was experiencing record breaking rain and that was evident as the water was running through the building. Aside from that diversion it was some delicious food. It is the original store and could use some up grades but then again, it is Sonny's Original BBQ.

Very interesting place with a long history. You order at the counter and they bring your food to your table. Self service soda- they may serve beer too. We had Brisket sandwiches with French fries, barbecue beans and Cole slaw. ( two sides come with or you can just order the sandwich or even a platter. Nice counter staff. Being from the northeast, we left feeling we we had a real Texas experience. The price was right, too!

I had the smoked brisket sandwich and enjoyed that it was served dry, allowing me to add the sauce and quantity of sauce that I wanted. Side dishes were plentiful and it was nice having mashed potatoes in a restaurant that were not instant. Not a standout meal, but affordable and worthwhile.

This is very over priced! The portion is very small. Not my first choice for bbq in Dallas! This is just mediocre and over priced!

The best BBQ ever! Most tender brisket ever! Smoked Sausage was awesome! The personnel were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend. Will stop next time in Dallas!

Sonny Bryan is BBQ at its best. Small warm family atmosphere with traditional sides and great moist smokey barbecue reasonably priced. I had the pulled pork sandwich plate with two sides. The meat is served dry with warm house special bbq sauce ample supplied on the bar. The Mac N Cheese is wet with lots of cheese and the beans are spiced just right... Sinny Bryan wont disappoint

They do BBQ. Not a fancy restaurant. Almost not a restaurant, the do have a slightly detached seating area where you can sit down with your food. That said, the flavor and quality of the food is over the top. Whenever I’m in town, I always make time to visit this place.

Unique that they are open 24 hours a day. Do people really eat BBQ at 6 AM? Lol. The food was good. Hubby and I shared a plate that included ribs, turkey and brisket along with rolls, potato salad and slaw. More than enough for the two of us and we even brought some home. They have draft beer on the menu but he said their taps weren’t working. So for two sodas and our food, total bill was around $20. Overall a decent place.

Ate here on the last night of my most recent trip. Was excited to go because the other location I visited earlier in the year was so good. The place looks dingy, and to be honest quite unsanitary. This was my first impression as we went through the door. We both ordered the ribs and I had coleslaw and potato salad for sides. The Dr Pepper in soda machine didn’t have syrup in it. The ribs were very bland, like no seasoning was applied prior to being cooked. The coleslaw and potato salad were absolutely tasteless. I couldn’t finish my meal. At the end I went up and asked for wet naps, and there were none, they had run out. So I went to the bathroom to wash my hands, and I felt like I should wipe my feet before I went back outside afterwards. All and all the Lover’s Lane location beats this one (The original) by a moonshot.

It's nice that they have an order online option, after driving all day we were not up for going to a crowded restaurant. This place is very crowded, there was a long line to sit down so I assumed it must be great. The BBQ was good, nothing outstanding or award winning but good and no complaints. The rest of the food was bland, the onion rings were huge and tasteless. The BBQ sauce was pretty good though which gave most everything the flavor it needed. Also, in the brief interaction I had with the staff, they seemed annoyed and irritated about the business of the restaurant on a Saturday night.

Me and my wife arrived a little before 1am. We ordered our food and went to sit down and wait. While we sat there we saw a car drive around twice before parking. I heard an employee say in Spanish that he was scared. I went to stand by the exterior door while my wife ran to the vehicle and drove off. The guy got out of his car as his passenger stayed. He was shirtless but said to himself that he wasn't wearing a shirt. He went back to his car to out on a short. When he walked past me he mumbled something about asking to get something to eat even though he was broke. He came back out with a drink in a white Togo cup. I went back in to check on my order. It was ready but 8 then wanted it to go. There was a person near the cash register on the phone that ignored me. I asked him to make it to go. I found the Togo containers and packed everything myself. I headed outside as the man was talking to me as I continued to walk towards my wife's vehicle. We won't be going back.

What better way to celebrate a Cotton Bowl victory than going to one of Dallas’ most authentic barbecue. Went to the original and was not disappointed. Ribs were perfect as was the cole slaw and beans. And the place itself was like stepping back in time. Friendly staff who know what they are doing well, and that’s great barbecue.

Nothing like the original. Old school BBQ . nothing fancy just solid food in an authentic setting. Went back two days in a row. Beef brisket is best!!!!

Since 1910. Menu on wall said a buck and six bits. Have not heard those terms since john wayne movie. Food was great and plenty of it. Lots of choices

Typically when an established local restaurant opens an airport store it's a disaster. I was pleasantly surprised by the place near gate E13 at DFW. I had a platter with pulled pork, pulled chicken, BBQ baked beans, Mac and cheese and a roll. With the exception of the beans being a little undercooked and dry, everything else was good. Unexpected. It was fast and not outrageously priced (for an airport)

This place is a true find! Do not be confused by the rustic charm... this food is absolutely delicious ! The sampler of BBQ meat is fantastic and the onion rings were GRAND !!!!!!! Every time I visit Dallas this is a must !

Nice atmosphere? No. Also, I waited 22 minutes for 2 rib bones. I took one bite out of the ribs and it it out! Rubber and chewy. No smoke. Keep it up guys!

14 of us descended on Sonny Bryans in downtown Dallas. The young lady waiting on us, the bartender and the kitchen staff were fantastic. The facility itself could use a good cleaning which put off some of our guests but when we relaxed and the good food was brought out all that mattered was we were among friends and having a great time. All the cooked meats were excellent. One of our party said the ribs were the best he had ever had. And he is picky! The beer was cold, the sweet tea perfect. Their "world famous" onion rings- not a contender. "Homemade" salad dressings also forgettable. Their cobblers were amazing! All in all, we were treated very well, food was fast, hot and mostly delicious.

Thanks to a personal recommendation we enjoyed some delicious BBQ! If you simply drove by, you may not stop but that would be a huge mistake. The prices are reasonable, with the ability to make choices of sides to compliment the main entree is a plus. The potato salad was just like homemade and the rolls were were and delicious with the honey butter but the best part were the ribs! The servings are generous and almost more than you can eat in one sitting - but we did it! You can not go wrong stopping here. You order at the counter and take your food to the next building to eat. No need to dress up for dinner but you must go hungry!

Today went to the location on Inwood and was very disappointed. I got the daily special which had ribs, pulled pork and sausage. My wife got sliced brisket sandwich; asked for a lean portion, and received mostly fat. My ribs and pork were mostly fat. The sausage was good. The cole slaw was poor; too much mayo. The fries were good, but the BBQ beans were crunchy. We have both enjoyed the meals at the locations in Las Colinas and the West End, so we don't know if it was location-specific or has just declined in the 5 years since we have been there.

The chopped brisket especially is delicious, and I love their potato salad. Sit in the room to the side of you want to be more comfortable.

I didn't get the name of the lady at checkout, but when I asked if I can see the manager, she pointed to her name tag, I guess to suggest I was talking to the manager. Maybe you can decifer from the attached receipt who she is. Anyway she was rude, confrontational, unprofessional to me and my brother-in-law. The only issue was it was my brother-in-law's first visit to Sonny Bryan's and he asked if they put slaw on the rib sandwich. She said, can't you read the menu? And then followed by remarking, I don't have time for ignorant people. Other employees and customer hearing the conversation was shocked and embarrassed by her behavior. One of the employees (a nice lady) apologized to us as we were leaving. Good food, but bad service, at least during my visit.

This was my first time here and i will definitely be back! First i was greeted by the staff and i let him know it was my first time! He gave me the run down and after walking in the seating area i decided to change my order from to go to dine in! Was able to watch the game and enjoy my food! Food was hot and amazing! Bbq beans were top notch! The friendly staff and the food will definitely be seeing me again!

My parents used to eat here all the time when working in Dallas but this was my first visit. Monday’s special was a sandwich, side and drink for $9. Chopped beef sandwich was very delicious, onion rings were ok and you only get 3, and potato salad was ok in my opinion. When you go inside to order you stand and wait in a small area until they call your name then you pay. After that find a seat. My opinion better to take meal to go vs staying and eating. Still good place to eat.

If what you are after is really good bbq, this is the place. There is a small building next door that is air conditioned where you can eat. Mm mmm good

The best brisket ever! At the recommendations of the people in line, I ordered the chopped brisket sandwich and onion rings. The sandwich was incredible. The meat was lean, tender and perfectly flavored. No BBQ sauce was necessary. The bun was airy and sweet and buttery. Yum! I thought the onion rings were a little flavorless, but crispy and tender.

I judge BBQ places by their ribs and this place had some good ones. I also got the brisket and pulled chicken to split with my wife. The brisket could have been more moist but still a great pic. The sauce was a nice touch. The ribs were delicious. We also had potato salad which was much better than I expected. The place doesn't look like much but the food was good. If I'm in Dallas again, I'm definitely going back just for the ribs.

I expected more but it was ok, not the best but certainly not the worst. It was our first time here, service was excellent.

I've been eating at Sonny Bryans for over 50 years, that ends now! I stopped by the other day when I left UT Soutwestern. A young black man named Dee was taking my order. He asked what I wanted. I told him I wanted a Sliced Brisket plate with and onion rings. He told me the onion rings would take the place of the two side. Fine, I said. He said, OK what kind of sandwich you want? I said I dont want a sandwich, I want a sliced brisket plate! The total was like $18.33, I sat down and about 10 minutes later he brings out a sliced beef sandwhich and onion rings. I told him I did not order a sandwich I wanted a Sliced brisket plate. His response was I did not hear that. He said OK and took the plate and about 8 minutes later he brings out about 1/3 pound of not so great looking brisket. He then proceeds to tell me that I need to pony up another $3.24 for the meal. I explained to him I repeated myself 3 times. It was not my fault he was not listening or paying attention. He said you can either pay or leave. While the onion rings looked amazing I was not about to pay addtional for that brisket or for this kids mistake. I left the restaurant and called them to speak to a manager who apologized and supposedly give me a refund. Yet to be seen. I sent an email to the owner but it was not responded to. I know its hard to hire decent employees but at least hire one that can listen to the customers order. I enjoyed my 50+ years of Sonny Bryans - Im off to Meat U Anywhere for some real BBQ.

I'm in Texas for a few days and a friend that used to live here told me to go here for Bar B Q. We did and it was good. I have found MUCH better at places in Memphis, Birmingham and eastern North Carolina. We went to the original location, at least the sign says that and the building looked ancient. I had pulled pork sandwich, baked beans and potato salad. The pork was average at best, in my opinion. The sauce helped it along considerably. The potato salad was pretty good but the beans had no flavor at all. Very bland. Of course the atmosphere here is like no other. Pretty dingy place but hey, it's the tradition. Glad I went but honestly I would't go back. As I said, I have found much better many other places. I feel sure N Texas has better.

This BBQ joint is the real deal, with great meat choices. You'll leave smelling smokey but isn't that the point? Fine Texas meet and sides. Bring your appetite.

Besides Pam (name on nametag) coughing repeatedly in her hand while behind the counter serving food and cashing out customers, the food was good. Nice authentic flavor. Visiting from the East it was nice to have a taste of Texas BBQ. I ordered the lunch plate; brisket w/ baked beans and a roll which didn't melt my butter. I later ordered a side of potato salad. It lacked all flavor. We dined-in with flies in the separate dining area. To go and not seeing her coughing in her hands would have turned average to very good.

No matter what time I leave work, Sonny Bryan's is there with some awesome BBQ choices. Big fan of the turkey and pulled pork. The frito pie, interesting and unique, is definitely worth a try.

We were looking for Texas BBQ while in the Dallas area and found this gem! Place was a little whole in the wall but so worth the stop! Great ribs, sausage and everything else. If you haven't been there yet, you must go!!!

Awesome food must try. Old staple in dallas and a must. Try the sample plate and dig in. Dont worry about loaction very safe , pan handlers around the place, dont feel unsafe.

Fabulous atmosphere, friendly staff and a very authentic Texas BBQ vibe. Great quantities & tasty, zesty sauces.

Great food and great service. 10 out of 10. Say g'day to Oz and he'll make sure you're looked after. We arrived late in Dallas (traveling from Australia) and stumbled across the Smokehouse. Definitely did not disappoint.

This is not a fine dining establishment, it's a place where you get some really great BBQ meats and excellent side dishes at a reasonable price. We shared a heaping plate of beef, sausage, and pork, and some well-prepared side dishes for a very reasonable cost. Wish we had a comparable place where we live!

Maybe this place could actually use a chef at this point, rather stand on history and laurels. What we received on this visit was substandard for any cuisine category, and at full restaurant prices. I ordered a pound of pulled pork, a large order or onion rings, and 2 buns for the pork. Let me say that the sauce was good, not that vinegary acid you get at Rudy's. But how bad of a recipe do you need to screw up onion rings? The rings were limp, soaked in grease, and most of the breading had already fallen off. The 2 buns we ordered were the cheapest white bread they could probably find in the city, the pulled pork was over-cooked and dry. Smothering the pork in the sauce was the only way we could swallow it. I will go back to the first criticism. If you cant successfully make an order of onion rings, fold up your tent..period. We will never be back.

The was very bland and it's not what it was when my aunt worked for them during the 40's until the 80's it had no smple to shouldn't call your self a smoke house and their is no smoke just saying???

The Original Sonny Bryan's on Inwood Rd, does not look like the picture above. It's a wood-smoked-smelling, hole- in-the-wall with a huge fan base that doesn't mind the decor as long as they can score some honest BBQ. My wife and I stopped by the other day and ordered the Sliced Brisket, soaked with their special sauce (with more sauce on the side) and one order of deep-fried onion rings (which can also be dipped in the the BBQ sauce). The beef was so tender and juicy it melted in my mouth. Sonny's offers Beef Brisket, Turkey, Ham, Sausage, Jalapeno Sausage, Pulled Pork and Pulled Chicken. Sides include Potato Salad, Cole Slaw, and Beans. I'm pretty sure they also sell Peach and Apple Cobbler. You can also get soft drinks, tea and beer. It just doesn't get any better.

Probably not the best idea to go to BBQ on a business lunch , because you have to eat ribs with your fingers. A knife and fork just isn't right for BBQ and fried chicken. I didn't see fried chicken on the menu, but saw a Sonnys famous fried chicken in the south part of Dallas. Next visit, I'll try it. This visit I went to the Las Colinas location of Sonny Bryan's. It was good solis BBQ. Good ribs and sausage. The pulled pork was exceptional when you poured the vinegar based thin sauce on top. The sides were ok. The breaks was that good yeasty bread that gas just a touch of sweetness. Home made mini loaves. I'm not eating bread right now , but decided to have a taste. I loved the taste so much, I ended up eating the entire piece of bread. Good thing it was mini. I ordered the 3 choice plate with 2 sides. I had the fried okra and the green bean casserole. The okra was ok, but had sit under the heat lamp for awhile. The green bean casserole was like that comfort food you get at Thanks giving. I'd recommend this place for meals with people you don't mind seeing you messy .

Nothing fancy here but good food. I was visiting Dallas past weekend and wanted to check it out since this place been on my “food bucket list”. I have learned about Sonny's on the Food Network few years back and was excited to try it. The food was very good all around, the atmosphere pleasant and clean, service was attentive and quick. It was everything I expected it to be. I would definitely go back next time I'm in Dallas. Food – BBQ Beans Brisket Mac and Cheese

Stopped here twice now and was impressed both times. Pulled Pork or Sausage is the way to go. Ribs were a little dry this last time. Good selection of Beer to accompany the smoky meat.

It's a little hole-in-the-wall, mom-and-pops kind of place. The food was ready pretty quick and the taste was ok. Some of the meats were a bit cold, but overall it was good. The service was good as well.

This restaurant was recommend by our hotel and Uber driver. We wanted to go downtown to a well known spot for BBQ food, but we decided to try Sonny Bryan's instead. We were glad we did. You know it's good food food when the locals eat there. The food was great along with the hospitality. I would recommend Sonny Bryan's to anyone....

Lunch, 11/24/18, worst meal I’ve ever eaten here! Not sure I will return! Brisket sandwich was cold and gummy. Ribs not worth the money. Took my son-in-law and was ashamed I because I recommend. Have eaten here before with great results but today was a waste of money. Will not return!

WOO Boy, great to get off a plane from California and find an open late BBQ joint. Loved every bit of it. Our group got a bunch of different things and were all silent while we scarfed it all down. We will be back, every trip. Whenever someone heads to Dallas we recommend Sonny Bryans

Stopped in to a small BBQ joint. The atmosphere was good and the food was not to little or too much. Had a combo plate with Ribs, Sausage, Sliced brisket, tater salad and slaw. It was good. Seemed to be one more f those out of the way places that you would have to know where it was.

There are lots of Sonny's this is the best one. (On Inwood) Feels like you're being served out of an old house. BBQ is amazing, staff is fast and friendly!

I’ve been in California for a year and have been missing Texas BBQ! Sonny Bryan’s did not disappoint. I had the brisket combo. The brisket falls apart with a fork. Their onion rings are a MUST try. They are ahhhmazing. I love that their BBQ sauce is warmed and waiting for you to douse your meat! I do not have one complaint about this place.

Very good barbecue and service. Had a combo of ribs, brisket, pork and turkey. All very well done. Still eating leftovers. Also had the onion rings which were prepared well. Take out went well.

Had to try some barbecue while in Dallas. Sonny's brisket was very tender, a little dry but the on hand barbecue sauce made up for that. The onion rings are a must.

I ordered a three-meat combination plate; brisket (wet), ribs, and sausage. My companion ordered a baked potato, butter and sour cream only - no meat. My brisket was very lean (not wet), the ribs were very tender but lacked flavor, and the sausage was un-remarkable. My companion's order came with brisket meat and was returned for a meat-less spud as originally ordered.

This is exactly the type of place I love. The outside looks run down, and when you walk in, it is by no means fancy. What you do get is amazing Texas BBQ. The onion rings are massive and very tasty. The brisket is cooked just right and does not even need sauce, but the hone made sauce is pretty amazing, the regular sausage is spiced just right. My girlfriend had the frito pie which is chopped brisket, beans, sour cream, onions, cheese, and of course fritos. She could not eat it all it was so big.

This is now the second location I have visited. Absolutely amazing BBQ. Some of the best Pulled BBQ Chicken that I have ever had. Must have each visit to Dallas.

This was my second visit to this restaurant, the food is mediocre. Nothing to rave about and over priced. Staff could use some training in customer service skills.

I have not tasted meat smoked, grilled, or done up as well as well as they do it in Texas. I haven't been everywhere, but I have lived in five different states. Texas BBQ is not thick like they make it most other places. The BBQ sauce has a zing that isn't too hot for a wimp like me but it keeps many people coming back for more.

I was in Dallas for one night and asked the workers at the hotel where to go for good BBQ. A couple places were mentioned but were closed. Then they said Sonny Bryan's. I'm the kind of person that does not care what a place looks like just that it has good to great food. That fits Sonny's. I see some reviews that are less than positive but my FOOD experience was wonderful. I have eaten a lot of Brisket in many areas but it would be impossible for me to name a place that I have had better brisket. The smoked sausage, baked beans and onion rings were good. The slaw was OK but my brisket was amazing.

This is for the DFW, Terminal E location. It is open 24 hours. Great breakfast, served fast and with a smile!!

So much character in this original location. You order and then sit and five minutes later you have an incredible Texas original barbecue feast delivered to your table. Extras like pickles and onions are just a few feet away. The brisket was the best I've ever had. The sides are plentiful. If you want Texas barbecue in a charming place, this is it.

We had a trip planned to Dallas and I wanted to stop to try some Texas Brisket. I've heard about it on TV and was not disappointed. When I reviewed it online prior to the trip, I read several times that you must go to the original on Inwood. That's exactly where we went and enjoyed every morsel of food and the atmosphere. Don't be shocked by it. It's an old building with a little room with an in wall air conditioner and old, old school desks. Sitting in the old school desks was a great part of the visit. The service was great and brisket was amazing. I can't wait to come back.

Folks have been coming to Sonny Bryans for many years. The barbecue brisket and ribs are the best in Dallas! A must for your out of town visitors! Two locations get there early ...and enjoy!

This little "hole in the wall" had absolutely the very best BBQ I have every eaten. I of course had to get the BIG platter......It was a fight, but I was able to eat it all
Best BBQ in Dallas
This is a great hole in the wall BBQ place, with the best BBQ in Dallas. Sonny Bryan has multiple locations around town, but this is the best location. The rib dinner is to die for.
