My husband and I love pasta and we thought that this restaurant because of its history would have amazing italian food. Being from Italy we try and seek out good italian food, this was not it. We thought we would have a romantic night out, were a couple in our 30's and love supporting local restaurants. We left thinking it was the worst meal we had in new york. I don't know if we came on a bad day, or if it was off that night. I hope so. This is the only bad review we have made, and are sad to do it. We just don't want travelers who only have a few meals on their adventure to go here. If your a local, and if we had more time we would have tried it again. We are not people that say bad things, we love using trip advisor to let people know the wonderful places we have found.. If you are the owner, we saw a lot of older couples in there... maybe see if something is going on.

A large party enjoyed a wide variety of breakfast dishes during a Sunday morning brunch. Coffee could have been better.

The food was nice, but there was nothing spectacular about it. I loved the location and being able to eat and people watch at the same time. It wasn't too far from the train so tourists are able to find it easily. The service was great. My husband loved his food. I didn't LOVE my food, but it wasn't bad. Prices were fine and reasonable as well.

good service, good food :)

good memories at this place!

We went to Sotto Voce for a nice and peaceful Saturday brunch but that turned out to disappointment and definitively not peaceful experience. We choose pastas and they were good, nothing special though. We did not understood that even they advertise their Brunch "unlimited Mimosas, Bloody Mary´s and Champagne(=sparkling wine)" the food is limited and you can choose only one dish. We had pastas and then we asked one portion of pancakes split for two of us. We had to pay for three Brunch because of that. 20$ of shared pancake???!!! Yep. Atmosphere was not nice and it was very clear that they just wanted us out as soon as possible.

This was so lovely! The staff was incredible. The food was so high quality. The vibes are unpretentious. I was blown away by the service and the quality of our meal.

The cuisine is consistently excellent with moments of brilliance and surprisingly warm and casual service. Very welcoming owner and staff that makes you want to come back over and over.

Sotto Voce is a hidden gem on the corner of 4th Street. You absolutely will not be disappointed with any choice from the expansive menu. I love Pollo Sotto Voce - so delicious. And the wait staff is wonderful, the owner is there all the time, and the environment is reminiscent of being in a small restaurant in Italy. They also serve homemade Grappa at the end - the perfect touch to a flawless meal. GO NOW!!!! Brunch is also fantastic.

We go there every week for brunch. Service is great - for example, they alsways accommodate us with a big stroller even during their busy brunch\ and they dont even care if we take some extra seat space. They are so quik and polite and there is never a wait even though the place is busy, especially on the weekends. Ambiance is very nice, too - always pleasant romantic music playing, the colors of the space are cozy. It is run very well, there is never any confusion or misunderstanding. Food is great, too.

We went here for Sunday brunch to celebrate a friends birthday. To start with I was not impressed my table cloth was dirty and so was some of my friends plates and silverware. We had made a reservation but they still had to move tables around to seat us and the space you had to squeeze into between the seating and the table was only made for skinny people. Apparently for brunch this place does unlimited Mimosas and bloody mary's our group went half and half and then after the first BM everyone switched to Mimosas! Also you are meant to get unlimited pound cake but this is only if you beg. The menu was a good mix of breakfast and brunch type items. Service was ok but I did notice the waiters standing round and talking a lot while my glass remained empty.

Exceptional from beginning to end. The manager is such a treasure! He made the experience one to remember. He was so attentive. The food was delicious. I will be back!

A brunch to celebrate Mother’s Day for my mom, my daughters, my niece, my sister in law and my sister’s birthday.. Brunch, food, mimosas, dessert, espresso, family, a great Saturday.. Servers were awesome and food delicious, I had the Salmone “eggs Benedict but with salmon, and for dessert a creme brûlée, everyone had something different and enjoyed it as well.. I highly recommend this spot in Park Slope!!! I’ve been here before with my husband for dinner and a brunch as well haven’t been disappointed yet!!

Called in for dinner on 31 December. Six adults and two children. High chair available. All sitting at one long table. Good service. food served hot. Lovely flavours. No complaints from any of the adults, who all picked different menu items. Restaurant very busy, all tables full, as the evening went on.

Came here for brunch today. Loved it. Unlimited drinks and a delicious brunch is what you get. My eggs, bacon, and latki were all very good. Definitely good quality and there was also some bread to eat with it. I was very satisfied and I found the servers also accommodating. Would go again but would try out other places first.

Good brunch deal but food is average.

From the moment we were greeted by the friendly bartender to our complementary glass of Port at the end of our meal we were treated like honored and well loved family members. The bread and dipping sauce were delicious starters. Our Chianti was lovely and each of our 5 entrees were so good we had to share with each other so all could enjoy. We will return often!

This is a small but nice place in Park Slope. The service was good, however, not very friendly if that's what you expect from a waiter. All of our meals were tasty & well-prepared at a fair $$. Would summarize the experience as "Good" but not exceptional or noteworthy.

You know i consistently go back to this place- its tasty and affordable. I wish the wine was better.

While looking at the menu outside, a friendly manager? waiter? told us the specials and assured us that they could make us "anything." Persuaded, we dined al fresco on a warm April night, with excellent 7th Avenue people-watching. The inside of the restaurant tempted us too: high ceilinged, simple brick, serious and cozy at the same time. Our table was intimate and comfortable. Our salads, a spinach salad and an arugula salad, were generously full of delicious vegetables, cheeses and nuts. My entree, butternut squash ravioli with “pink sauce" was simple, flavorful and elegant. My companion ordered rolled veal stuffed with prosciutto, spinach and fontina, in a red wine mushroom sauce, served with garlicked mashed potatoes. Flavors came through clearly and mixed well. Although not intending to get dessert, when our affable waitress handed us the cork-covered dessert menus, we gave her no argument because we didn't want to leave. Our desserts were the pear tart with hazelnut ice cream andthe flourless chocolate soufflé with vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and whipped cream. Our wine, a Chianti, was a perfect pairing, recommended by a waiter. We were also served complimentary after dinner ports. At all times, the waitstaff was attentive and charming without being cloying or intrusive.

Unlimited mimosas and bloody marys if you can get the attention of the waiter. Food is ok.

On our last evening before leaving Brooklyn back to Delmarva, we met family at one of our favorite long time Italians,, Sotto Voce in Park Slope. The owner Ahmed is a great host and warmly welcomed us back. My wife and I had eaten a late lunch so we were not very hungry but still enjoyed a good meal. I had rigatoni red sauce with side of meatballs while my wife had the daily special, a mushroom filled chicken breast. My nephew enjoyed his fusilli di pomadoro and I looked on while the people at the neighboring table had a black ink linguine with assorted seafood. I felt like having another meal. We had a well priced bottle of Pinot Noir and for desert assorted cakes and lemon gelato. A complimentary moscato was the crowning of a great night. The price is always right and you must get there early as the place is always packed.

A friend highly recommended this restaurant in Brooklyn. I don't usually leave Manhattan, but I agreed to go. I was happy that I did. The food was worth the trip and the service was friendly and attentive.

This is a nice lunch spot. The patio is a great place to enjoy a meal and a cocktail. They have gluten-free pasta available as well. The weekend brunch menu is a great deal. $18 for an entree and unlimited bloody Mary's, mimosas, coffee or tea.

The fucilli with salmon is outstanding.

I recently visited here to have bruch with my grand dad...service was exceptional and timely. Had my first Bloody Mary here...and it was on point! Well done! I recommend here by all means

Good food and great value but terrible service.

We returned to SottoVoce because of the fantastic meatball-pasta and bolognese we had here last winter. This is not a super trendy, hip or fancy place, just a good Italian restaurant with good service and reasonable prices.

Free refills of champagne, momosa or bloody mary with brunch? Who can say no to that? I'm just remembering this place now because I love taking my dogs there in the summer and just sit outside and enjoy a leisure meal. They give my dogs water too which is really cool. The food is decent, but the deal on the drinks is just unbeatable.

We stumbled on this charming restaurant in Brooklyn. It was charming and welcoming. The food was uncomplicated and delicious. It is very good value.

I have been eating at this restaurant for many years. First having lunches with my daughter, when we both worked in the area, and now with my husband and our grandson. The food is consistently very good, the service is friendly and competent and the owner treats you as an old friend. I highly reccommend this nieghbourhood Italian restaurant

Great brunch.

OK, it was Saturday night and a Festive Season office group filled the long table next to our 4-some with incessant noise those groups produce. But this would have been tolerable if the food was better and the service was less spotty - great welcome but not much after that once the food was presented. Maybe the group sucked up all the attention and the place is too close-packed; the house wine is poor, so I'll be glad to skip this place for a year or so to see if it sticks around, which will require improving in many areas.

My wife and I have been eating here since they opened their doors. It is our neighborhood home away from home, and they host all our business functions as our corporate kitchen away from the office, and cater all our parties. Our children ate here before getting married and our grandchildren eat here and eat their food in the house often. It is our comfort place - comfort food, known and friendly staff, and the most attentive owners in the business. There is nowhere better in the area to think of as a "home base" and there are no better cooks than you will find here, and attentive management and ownership is definied by Mario and Ahmet's love of, and care for, their customers. This is the best that restauranting can be - it is family.

Decent for brunch

Sotto Voce is an excellent value for Italian food in the slope. I have only eaten at this restaurant for dinner, so I cannot comment on their brunch menu. The restaurant is quaint and romantic, but somewhat petite. We’ve had birthday celebrations, Thanksgiving, and just ordinary dinner at this restaurant and I’ve never had a terrible experience. In fact, whenever I come into Sotto Voce, it always feels like you're being welcomed by family. What I like most about the restaurant is the price - a meal with appetizers and drinks won’t break your bank account. In addition, good lighting and atmosphere. buon appetito!

Our dinner party of 5 adults and 5 kids had a wonderful time at SottoVoce. We have some people with food sensitivities, so there were modifications to menu items in the order. Our server, Massimo, did a wonderful job noting the changes and made sure they all came out right. We would come back. The restaurant had gluten free pasta and non-starchy sides, like broccoli, yellow squash, and zucchini.

Food is decent and in good portions. Unlimited drinks for brunch. Don't expect service with a smile.

We had a couple of very nice meals here, small restaurant, but you can eat outside as well, atmosphere was busy and friendly, service very good. The second time we ate there the staff recognised us which was very nice. Good prices.

Pretty good, fresh brunch menu. The unlimited champagne washed down very well. The service was good the atmosphere great. Brought the kids food out straight away which was a nice touch!

This is a charming and delicious neighborhood Italian restaurant in the heart of Park Slope in Brooklyn. I went with family for lunch on a Monday and we practically had the place to ourselves. The food was excellent, the service even more so, but it was pricey (over $450 for four people with 2 bottles of wine, coffee, and dessert, plus tip). Our server appeared to be family of the proprietors since, when we praised him on his ability to recite the entire menu from memory, he allowed as how he have been working there from the age of 12. He had very helpful suggestions and input for our food and wine selections (helpfully every table comes pre-set with a bottle of Italian wine to inspire the clientele). My favorites on the menu were the Caesar salad (arguably the best I've ever had) and the eggplant parmesan, uncharacteristically served as a long, flat, fried filet. I was less fond of the calamari (not bad, but I've had better) and the cheesecake made with Ricotta instead of American cream cheese (I discovered I prefer the latter). Because of the price, this place is better suited to special occasions rather than everyday dining, but it was quite enjoyable.

Get here early on the weekends or you will end up waiting for a table. Their brunch menu is standard but very very good.

Stopped in on a quiet Tuesday night for dinner with a friend. After enjoying a perfectly prepared Bombay Sapphire martini, my friend and I decided to split the Carpaccio di Salmone antipasto. The smoked salmon and arugula were accompanied by a very interesting sauce. For dinner, I opted for the Fusilli Primavera - and added shrimp to the fresh grilled vegetables. It was really a light dinner as there was no heavy sauce on the pasta. Our waiter - Rodney - provided excellent service in a professional and friendly manner. My friend is lucky - he lives in Brooklyn. Unfortunately, I was only visiting the city or I'd be back there once a week to try one of the many options on the menu. I wish they had a branch in Los Angeles!

The service was amazing. Food was DELICIOUS. We had lunch seated outdoors and we had a wonderful experience. As we left the manager thanked us personally and shook our hand. It was nice from start to finish.

Unlimited mimosas for brunch!

This lovely neighborhood restaurant has pretty good food, but what they do best is make you feel like family. Most restaurants have lost interest in hospitality, but our new friends at Sotto Voce provide a happy dining experience. One of the three of us is vegetarian and had ample choices. We were visiting from out of town, but there is no question that we would return when back in the area.

Nice enough food with friendly service. They have a strange deal where you can have unlimited mimosas or bloody marys whilst eating. Nothing special.

They say they accept you with your pet, but you are placed all alone on the side of the restaurant. At first, I felt disrespected, but it turns out I actually liked being alone at our table for two plus our dog. The food was delicious and moderately priced. Service was friendly. No complaints.

I had supper tonight at this horrible restaurant. WE walked in to find the staff dusting the air vents above the vacant tables below dispersing dust everywhere. That should've been the first clue for us. I found a hair in my wilted (not with hot bacon oil) spinach salad. When I mentioned it to the waitress no action was taken. One of my dining mates received her over done pasta WITH the tails on the shrimp. My pasta dish was under cooked (not al dente which I would have preferred. The waitress was ill informed. Cheese was clumpy, pepper was skimpy. I will never eat here again and will tell all my friends.

fantastic food, low prices, and a decent wine list. Just go when you're not in a rush because the service tends to be very hit and miss. Watch out for the fat lady server during lunch she's a bit of a grump.

Menu of typical Italian fair, well-prepared and served. The atmosphere is very friendly and relaxing. I have never been for brunch but on weekends it is very popular for brunch. The pastas we tried were excellent. There is also a good wine list.

Ok

decent Italian, modern, not greasy.

We've been reviewing Sotto Voce for years. It is and always has been our dining room extension - when we are here - we are family and the food is wonderful. Warm, inviting, a part of the neighborhood for years, this is the place to come home to. Not to be missed for all these years and not to be missed now.

I would stick to the traditional italian dishes, here.

the brunch menu is reasonable in price for an entree, unlimited mimosas and pound cake!

This restaurant was highly recommended to us .We went on a Saturday for lunch .They have a lunch special menu on the outside menu but it did not state that this was a Mon-Friday only .When we were seated we were presented with a Brunch menu showing a cost of $18.95 indicating no maximum on mimosa's coffee or tea. My friends and I were not interested in consuming alcohol and had coffee instead. Not once did our waiter inquire if we desired more coffee nor did he fill our cups. We each ordered an entree and the portions were quite small for the price .Afterward we were presented with dessert menu's and saw that the cost for each dessert was $9.50,a rather steep price . This was our first and last time in the restaurant.
Even when crowded, Sotto...
Even when crowded, Sotto Voce gives diners a private feeling. The menu is reliable, but the wine is horrible--limited list, and stored too close to their hot coffee maker.
