Went there on a Saturday night before a movie. Food was just ok, not great. Had shrimp basket, daughter had rotisserie chicken. Not super impressed

Ordered some gulf oysters that were fresh and plump. The fried chicken was delicious and very juicy. The breading was some of the best I’ve ever eaten. Seasoning for the chicken was spot on. Overall, some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. The fried rolls that came with it were good. Nice texture on the outside but soft on the inside. For the sides, we had French fries, rice with gravy, and macaroni and cheese. The fried had a nice crunch to them but still soft. They were seasoned well and great. The rice with gravy was okay. The rice wasn’t fully cooked and a bit crunchy. The gravy itself was nice but I probably wouldn’t order this side again. The macaroni and cheese really shined. It was the best side out of the trio we ordered. Great flavors and so cheesy! The beers on tap are good I’d personally recommend the light beer they have it pairs well with the fried chicken. Overall, a very good meal and a place worth coming back to again and again!

Pretty good food and really good portion sizes. Service was pretty good as well. We went on a weekday to avoid the crowd but I hear it gets busy there so call ahead and reserve a table. You should definitely try the chips and queso. I couldn’t had that as an entree itself.

As I walked into this restaurant, I immediately liked the decor and ambience. I guess you would call it modern rustic. Very casual and comfortable. Looking at the menu, it had some very appealing choices and I could see they seemed to think that their chicken was special. (it isn’t.) I ordered fried oysters and chose the white rice with brown gravy as the single side The oysters were cooked just right, light flaky crust, all of the eight small pieces of them for $18. Other seafood places around town charge about half that though. The rice with brown gravy was not anything special, which made the $18 seem even worse. The really over priced item that we ordered was the chicken. They certainly brag about the chicken, but I do not know why. Give me an H-E-B whole chicken for about eight bucks anytime. And on top of that, they both lacked that secret spice recipe of KFC which no one has been able to equal yet. Again, he threw a little bit larger rice with brown gravy on the side along with two half-assed-sweet rolls. charging $32 for the simple chicken platter again, seemed way overpriced. When it was all said and done, we had a very average quality meal that was priced exactly twice higher than it should be. Sent from the all new AOL app for iOS

From start to finish...ahmazing! Oysters were excellent, and don’t pass up the fried chicken, mac n cheese or the okra. All well worth the calories. Ask for Andy!

I was with a small group on an early week day afternoon for lunch. Small tables make large groups not possible. The menu is very interesting, and though our wait person was very friendly & smiling......he could not at all get a simple order of two pieces of chicken straight on the order, or on the final bill. It was very easy: two pieces roasted, two pieces fried. Cheerful spot for brunch or lunch. Wait personnel still need quite a bit more training. Staff seems to be still learning the trade...... Outside dining is easier and quite nice.

Amazing Food Chicken,Biscuits are to Die for. Oysters,Tiger Sauce,Pies so Heavenly. Was 5 Star Now a 3 Star. Updated was Awesome food. This is Number 1 Problem in San Antonio. Inconsistency of Food and Quality.. First time here September 9th pieces of chicken were nice size. Second time yesterday September 16th small and looked like childs portion. Then my food i have pics from last time I came here I ordered quarter pound fried oysters that were decent sized and $9 received 7 oysters not bad. Last night go here and 4 oysters which are smaller than last time? Really $9 for 4 fried oysters? Sea Island is $12 for over a dozen and of they run small put extra. I was told when i complained from Manager who Never came out to address us or the situation that it is weighed out and not by number. It doesn't change in a week? Second don't even make it right for customer or come out from back? Ordered fried shrimp and received 15 shrimp that were bigger than oysters. 1/2 pound Really ? I’m Amazed how is a hallf pound of shrimp 15 pirces but quarter pound of oysters which are smaller than the shrimp gonna be 4 pieces? My wife's 1/4 pound chicken which is two pieces looked like a baby chicks leg. Total disappointment to say the least. Even brought a freind with us he said was not impressed. We invited him because of how good it was the first time. Will be a while if we come back or reccomend. This is All over San Antonio. Go to a Restetaunt and Great first time,Crappy second time, so-so third time, good fourth time and then Great fifth time again? Its Called Inconsistencey and is Rampant. A Real Shame

My friends and I went to Southerleigh - Haute South at The Rim. The wobbly table (table #33) we were sitting on didn’t have that much room on it. There was a paper towel holder, ketchup, salt, pepper, hot sauce and other things in another holder that was taking up more than half of the table. Three of my friends ordered the 1 bird with two sides, and I ordered the shrimp po-boy. After we ordered we asked if we could be moved to a larger table. Our waiter, Cesar M, said he would go check. He came back and told us he couldn’t move us to that table because there was a reservation coming to sit at that table. I told him we also had a reservation. Once our food came out, we had the waiter that brought us our food, take away the holder that held the ketchup, salt, pepper, hot sauce and other things and I put the paper towel holder on the ground. We still didn’t have room. We looked at another table and they also ordered the one bird and two sides, however, their food was on a food riser stand similar to a pizza riser. So they had room for their plates since their food was above everything else. We called our waiter, Cesar M, back to our table. We asked him if he knew we wanted to move tables because our table was too small? He said yes he understood and was sorry he couldn’t move us. We then told him to look at table 41, we asked why didn’t he put the one bird and two sides tray on a food raiser? He said oh I didn’t think of that. My recommendation to Southerleigh - Haute South is to make sure all waiters know they have food riser stands/pizza risers. So if a table orders a meal that comes on a large tray to please put their food on a food riser stand/pizza riser so they can have room at their table. Please do this or order larger tables. Other than this, our food was really good. I enjoyed my po-boy. Pictures of our food and look there is no room on our table.

While in town for work, I came here for dinner on a Sunday evening and sat at the bar… The bartender, Cesar was great to chat with and offered some excellent suggestions for food and drink. He makes a really good Old Fashioned too! Their spicy fried ¼ chicken was pretty good and came with a really nice and hot hot sauce! Their side of mac & cheese that came with it was really cheesy, gooey and yummy! There was also a huge amount that came with it! They have an interesting and large menu loaded with some pretty nice southern favs. I would definitely return!

Our GPS had trouble finding it. We were instructed to find a table which we did. The app did not work. We sat for too long waiting to be noticed. There were many workers running around like a bunch of ants but not by our table. I did shower that day. I flagged someone down to get a paper menu which we were given promptly. It was another long wait to make our order. I was being nice but I was about ready to cause a seen and walk out. However, this nice waitress stopped by on her way inside from the outside dining. She asked if we had been helped. We said no. She answered some questions about the servings then took our order. We received our food quickly. The waitress was very good. We appreciated her care. The food was very good with large servings. We gave her a good tip. Yes, it was a slow start but worth it.

The woman who greeted us, Tori, had the best customer service I've seen in a while. The bartender, Dustin, made us delicious bloody Mary's (I ordered it with Toto's Vodka) ordered from the $20 weekly special menu and it was worth every penny! The chicken was melting as I bit into it. Biscuit was the right amount of crispy and sweet. I would recommend this restaurant to friends and family. One improvement on the drink would be to dress it better. Add olives, pickles etc to it. Bring dessert when I'm done with my meal, not while I'm still eating my main course.

Roast chicken is the most delicious, and the corns are also very good along with the shrimp. I could get better at putting more comfortable chairs

Made a reservation via OPEN TABLE for patio seating about 3 hours prior to arriving and we are glad we did. Arrived at 5pm on a Friday and the place as packed! Cesar was our server who was super friendly, but a very disorganized. So our oysters were served, but no eating plate and no extra cocktail sauce as we requested. Food was served, we had no eating utensils and the fried pie was thrown, yes thrown, onto our table in a paper sleeve, so again, so plate, no eating utensils. Had to asked three times for extra tarter sauce. UGH!!! Buck each oysters on the half shell were wonderful! Love the combo cocktail sauce and BBQ sauce for the oysters. Hubby ordered the quarter fried chicken and really loved it. I ordered flounder with a side of mac and cheese. Mac and cheese was very good. Flounder was fried nicely on the outside, but the fish was mush. Won't get that again. Finished off splitting a pecan fried pie - soooooooo good, but could of been better with a scoop of ice cream, but nope, they don't have ice cream.

This is a new restaurant in the Rim so we wanted to try it having been to most of the rest. We went at 11 AM on a Saturday morning. There were no lines so we walked right in and ordered. The lady behind the counter that took our order was very friendly and efficient. She gave us our drink glasses, told us where to fill them up and what table on the patio we were assigned. First problem was that a couple were already sitting at that table but several others were available which we took and notified them of the problem. The waiter shortly appeared and brought napkins, silverware, straws etc. We had ordered the pimento chicken & beer cheese as an appetizer. It was enormous and way more than we could ever eat. The "chips" were really good thick ribbed potato chips but the enormous dip was mediocre to our tastes. Warning only order this with a large group (not permitted under current restrictions). Our waiter kept appearing to see if we needed anything and did bring two new glasses with tea and diet soda. In fairly short order the main meal appeared chicken sandwich for my partner and shrimp po-boy for me. Partner had expected seasoned fries but tasted plain while nice and crispy. She said the chicken had excessive breading but was good. I had the shrimp po-boy. It came with a lot of breaded shrimp overflowing the half roll and while somewhat breaded were good. Eating it as a sandwich was not possible so I just ate all the shrimp and fixings inside. I had ordered cole slaw instead of fries and it was really good with a vinegar based dressing instead of the usual creamy dressing - thank you. Again the waiter kept stopping by to see if we needed anything. We paid the waiter at the end of the meal with a credit card. I don't know if they take cash. We both decided we had had better sandwiches else where so it may be awhile before we return to try something else.

I was really excited to try this place out due to the reviews. However , I wasn’t much a fan ! When you walk in you order & the cashier will tell you to sit @ table with a specific number on it . After seating our waitress approached. She was very nice . I learned that even though you’ve “ordered” up front your order still doesn’t go in until your sever pushes it through. What’s the point of ordering ahead ? I had ordered the chips with the queso dip . The quarter dark chicken with French fries & macaroni and cheese. The chips & queso were awesome ! The chicken had no flavor & neither did the macaroni & cheese . They both tasted bland . The French fries were ok & I loved the biscuit that came with it . The staff is extremely friendly. The restaurant is clean . The decor reminded me of Martha Stewart living . Not my cup of tea . That’s ok . You win some . You loose some
Great restaurant
Went to Southerleigh for drinks and dessert and it was great. I got the sundae and a margarita and they were both delicious. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
