Very good destination restaurant for a date or entertaining out of town guest. Don’t let the exterior of the building fool you. Kind of looks like a strip club with block lettering sign but when you walk in there’s a lot to absorb! There are robot train type cars that deliver your drinks and food. Each bot has a name and talks of you listen closely. We were lured to the restaurant because of the robots but found that the staff was great and the food very good as well. We had the braised rib which had vanilla potatoes, and the seared beef fillet. Both were very good. The waitress upsold us on the broccoli side dish but I’d skip that next time. We had the very unique and flavorful “corn ribs” which I will be trying at home and the Blistered Shishito peppers as appetizers. We enjoyed everything but the broccoli dish. The drinks were unique as well but the old fashion was $54 so be prepared if you want that one. The table next to us was killing the Blanton with their drinks and another the drinks that came with real cotton candy on a stick. We will certainly go back and take friends for the experience and good food. Paying is tight and watch out for the tow trucks at the surrounding businesses! No valet that I saw but would be beneficial for the type of restaurant it is. Wednesday night at 6:45 and it was full of cars in the lot.

We ordered fries and octopus for appetizers and cauliflower, braised short rib, and steak as the main entree. We all had drinks. The quality of the drinks and food was good. The steak was very tender and the braise ribs had good flavor. The atmosphere was the highlight of the visit. The price for some of the drinks was on the high side. They were able to accommodate a grain free and dairy free diet.

This place has been on our list for a bit. We finally had a night to try it. Made reservations for the same day at 6:30 pm. We were seated promptly, and our waiter came quickly. We ordered a couple of their cocktails and heard about their night special. We got two starters and two entrees. I would pass on the beef tartare next time. It wasn't for me. We got the Space Balls, and I enjoyed the Tuna but not the salmon. The Inked Seafood Risto is my new favorite entree in the city. The aged Beef entree was good but didn't blow me away like the Inked Seafood Risto. The robots are cute and something different. The space is pretty. I assume it is very loud when the place is full. It's always nice to have a parking lot in Austin.

The customer service at Space Cowboy was outstanding from the moment we walked in until the moment we left. I had made a reservation for myself and my 7-year-old son. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the host, Kai, who promptly showed us to our seats. My son was immediately captivated by the decor and the sight of robots delivering food to other diners. Having visited Space Cowboy before, I knew there wasn’t a dedicated kids’ menu, but I wanted to introduce my son to new flavors and expand his palate. Our server, Kristyn, started by asking if we had dined here before and explained which meals could be customized to suit my son’s tastes. Her knowledge and attentiveness were impressive, and I appreciated her recommendations. The menu also highlighted which cocktails could be transformed into mocktails, so I let my son choose one for himself. For him, we ordered the Cowboy Ribeye Sliders, Stardust Fries, and the Life Water mocktail. The sliders and fries were prepared without extra toppings, and ketchup was provided, which my son thoroughly enjoyed. The Life Water was a fun and flavorful choice—fizzy like soda but more unique and refreshing. I started with the Seafood Aguachile, a dish I fell in love with during my first visit in April 2024. Since then, I’ve tried aguachile at other restaurants, but none compare to the version at Space Cowboy. I was thrilled to see it still on the menu, as their offerings change frequently. The serrano sauce was thoughtfully placed on one side of the bowl so my son could try it. To my surprise, he enjoyed it, though he stuck to the shrimp. For the main course, I had the Piri Piri Chicken and Seafood Risotto. The chicken was perfectly smoked, and the accompanying sauce elevated the dish. It was generously portioned, enough for both of us to share. The risotto was our favorite—it was my son’s first time trying scallops, mussels, and clams, and to my delight, he found them tasty. While the dish was flavorful, I felt the seafood-to-risotto ratio was slightly off and would have preferred more seafood. For dessert, my son chose the Ube Foam Panna Cotta, which he described as tasting like vanilla ice cream. He wasn’t wrong—the texture was different but delightful. It was a perfectly sized, satisfying dessert. To top off our meal, my son was surprised with a UFO-shaped cotton candy, which absolutely made his night. What I appreciated most about our outing was the exceptional service from Kai and Kristyn. Although Space Cowboy doesn’t seem specifically geared toward children, they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and ensure my son had a fantastic experience.

What a unique concept! The restaurant had perfect decor, waitstaff uniforms, and furniture for this dining experience. The food was tapas style so my group ordered several dishes and it was hard to rank a favorite. I loved that the robots each had a name, too! Our Top Faves: Space Balls Blistered Shishito Peppers Cowboy Ribeye Sliders Wine Braised Short Rib Land & Sea Skewers

Space Cowboy exceeded all expectations! The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel truly welcome. The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish had a creative twist that made the meal unforgettable. It's clear they put heart into everything they do. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for great vibes and even better food!

Novelty restaurant with robot delivery for food and drinks. So cool! The food though….OUTSTANDING! We had sliders, steak, potato puree, Parmesan fries. Craft cocktails. All superior! Our server, Adam was over the top polite and recommended fav dishes that were spot on. Go! Now!
Great Food and Great Experience!
Most unique place I have ever eaten, with food you won’t find at a lot of other eateries. The decor is a funky outer space theme but enough sophisticated touches to avoid it feeling kid-oriented. We apppreciated that it was tapas style, so we could try multiple dishes, all of which were exquisitely plated. A lot of the food is seafood, with quite a few that are sashimi or poke or seared, although there were also very nice beef and combination dishes like the land and sea skewers. Service was very attentive. One thing that made it special was that food is delivered by robots that look like spacecraft that run on a track throughout the restaurant. I will definitely eat there again next time I am in Austin.
