I was walking a new route between Seattle Center and Diwntown, intending to stop for a meal only if I found something exotic and interesting. Spice Up was exactly what I was hoping for. I will return to try other dishes, but Ma Pa Tofu was what I chose to try to experience the Szechuan cooking I had found in western China, and missed ever since. It was delicious! The peppers were sweet, citrus-y and hot, or « tongue numbing. ». The portion was large enough to provide me some to take home. The restaurant is new, clean, with no crowds (late afternoon.). Once I got someone’s attention, the service was good. I’ll be back.

This is a pleasant place to enjoy dinner. I found the staff was friendly, helpful in my finding the right menu choice for me. This was such a good experience, with quick preparation and superb flavor... I will be back!

Stopped in quickly for a light lunch. Ordered the pork with green peppers with the hot and sour soup. Fresh and tasty!

Attracted to the restaurant that was full of Asians. I believe it was very authentic and the name spiceup summed it up. Service was excellent General Tso's Chicken a supercharged sweet and sour. However though I battled with the Cumin Lamb, it overwhelmed my palate to the point my lips were more than Tingling. Took half an hour before water tasted the same. Great menu - but take care with the chili!

Wife had fried rice. It was served cold. Back to the microwave. Average at best. My crispy duck was way over done. It tasted like it was warmed up before served. I was so looking forward to duck as you do not see it on the menu at other places . Big disappointment. Waste of $50. Should have known as this place was basically empty. Skip this place.

It is hard to find a place near downtown Seattle for lunch without dealing with long wait. This place is packed but fast. Most important things are tasty foods and fair price! I enjoy the double cooked pork and cumin lamb! It is not that spicy to me.

Typical Chinese menu. Everything was very good and lunch menu was good value. Would certainly go back.

I enjoyed Spiceup very much, and I'm a picky eater when it comes to Chinese Food, since we used to live by one that I thought was the best I've ever had. And this restaurant came close to that one. I had the chicken and broccoli. The chicken was large pieces, and the broccoli was also good sized. The sauce was very good. They also served hot tea with the meal. I had to ask for a fork, because they provided chopsticks on the table, and I don't use chopsticks. The service was friendly, and they checked with me a few times to see how I was doing. I will definitely eat there again when visiting Seattle, and have recommended it to my son, who lives there.

Really enjoyed Dinner at SPICEUP! Waiter staff was very attentive, and the food was wonderful. I will be back!

This was by far our least favourite meal on our trip to seattle. We found our meal to lack flavour and the terrible service sure didn't help. We visited at 3pm so the restaurant was not busy. The crappy part was the waitress demanded 15% tip when we tried to give less. We're old school and feel a tip should be based on our experience. We gave in and gave more just to avoid issue.

This isn’t anything fancy, but it’s great value and the food was really authentic and tasty. We are two Aussies that spent the last 3 weeks in Canada eating delicious food with very little concern for price, and we were in for a bit of a $$$ shock when we got to the US. Scoped this place out the first night we arrived in Seattle, and loved it! Pork dumplings in chilli sauce were great, good amount of chilli. Also ordered the Kung Pow prawns with serving of rice. Everything was delicious. Beers were cold and we enjoyed the tea that came free with the meal. Service was better than some of the fine dining places we have eaten at.

Great food, great service, reasonable prices. Even better, the staff was friendly, professional, and the service was fast. They have differing types of Asian food, primarily Mandarin and their specialaty Szechuan We had a group show up at 630PM on a Friday night and trust me, I'll be back A very popular place, especially with people who live or work closeby, they do a lot of walk in, carry out business, and the small but well stocked bar was a bonus too We had a group of nine people and everyone left full and we rate this a five star place. Try it, you'll like it

We almost didn't come here b/c it was barely 4 stars....so glad we ended up here! It's a hole in the wall but so glad we found it. The food and service was amazing! We had Orange Chicken, General Tso's Chicken and fried rice....so good😋🤤

I was hesitant at first as I have read mixed reviews. The restaurant was close to the hotel and was open on Sundays so we gave it a try. The facilities were clean and the staff were friendly. Servings were huge and had a lot of food choices.

I dropped in here because it was near our hotel. After a late check-in I was hungry, but my wife was not, so I went out alone for something quick. The dishes were obviously meant for groups to share, so I asked the waiter for a recommendation of an individual dish. I ended up with an enormous bowl of watery, bland soup. "Seafood Tofu" it was called, although I had to label out the watery broth to find much of either. There are many restaurants nearby - this place was a big mistake.

food is good, mostly untraditional but worth the experimenting, prices are as anywhere else for this type of food but the food and service are better then most. Love the garlic chicken very good and hot and sour soup is good, but go for the more non traditional choices and things get really interesting.

We found this gem through TripAdvisor. The dishes were phenomenal and David, the owner, could not have been more welcoming or gracious. We had a delightful evening and highly recommend.

I supposed this is a relatively new restaurant. The owner is friendly and welcoming. My partner and I had fish fillet, and chicken asparagus lunch meal. It came with a steamed rice and soup. It was very good. Very nice meal. The place was very clean and looks very new.

Generous size meals, great tasting and wonderful service. Host was friendly and very helpful. Great atmosphere- would go again

A pleasant discovery. Great service and food. We had lunch, which included a great soup (we had hot and spicy and egg flower). Ordered Ma Po Tofu and Pork and Peppers. Everything outstanding. Owner was attentive. Casual environment.

A very pleasant addition to a corner that already have Korean, Vietnamese on the Asian side... Very extensive menu - we enjoyed the spicy noodles, Lamb with cumin, braised beef to name a few dishes and all were authentic and yummy... We'll be back!

Good food, a bit pricey though. Giving 3 stars because in my experience, they don't give rice unless you pay extra for it.

We decided to eat here because we could smell the deliciousness as we walked past on the sidewalk.. and it did not disappoint! The wontons in the wonton soup were handmade and the main dishes were not too sugary or americanized. The service was a little slow (we came at the end of the dinner rush) but the waitstaff was really nice!

Located on Bell Street in Belltown, this restaurant serves authentic Szechuan cuisine. I selected the sautéed mushrooms, which turned out to be several varieties of mushrooms in a broth. The mushrooms were delicious but the broth was a bit too thicken with cornstarch. My wife had the fish and sautéed vegetables and that had very tender fish with very few vegetables. The restaurant is very clean with comfortable, casual seating. Service is quick, as orders are taken soon after seating and delivered very shortly afterwards.

We saw this new restaurant on the street and decided to give it a try. It was a handsome space, clean and orderly with booths, tables and outdoor seating in season. The menu was a combination of regular and predictable Chinese along with the unfamiliar and exotic Szechuan cuisine mixed in. We tried the predictable for our first time and found the moo shu pork excellent. Nicely wok flavored and done perfectly, with a little carmelizing of the onions and vegetables in the dish. My wife and I are no strangers to Chinese food from Honolulu to San Francisco, to New York and Boston, with Vancouver, B.C. and Toronto thrown in for good measure. It was good. And the table next to us agreed. He was a chef and she had a lifelong love of food. The dishes we had were as good as any we had anywhere. Some of the servers were fine but a little new at what they were doing. They admitted it and got help when needed. The senior staff were knowledgable and very helpful. I am a little hesitant to write this review because we liked that we could walk in and share the restaurant with a young but small Chinese crowd. No waiting for a table. Don't want this to change. But then, they deserve a good review. Nicely done. Hope they can keep it up when the crowds arrive. We intend to get our friends in soon.

We needed food at 9pm and they helped us put together some unusual soup and appetizer combos for sharing. The cold pork belly dish was a surprisingly good choice. Our waiter was concerned the cold presentation would be a shock for us but we enjoyed it.

This is a nice Chinese restaurant on Bell Street right off of third Avenue. There are draft beer pints here for five dollars. If you like spicy food this is a nice spot.
terrible service.
I first ordered the spring rolls, which were o.k. then I ordered the Dan Dan Noodles, they were horrible!!! The worst thing I have ever put into my mouth, when I told the waitress that I did not like them she took them away but not off the check. The service was as bad. I had to physically get up to ask for the check since it seemed like I would be there forever waiting for someone to come to me.
