Noodles so good

By SatnamYMas |

I really like noodle hits and tend to look for them in various Chinatown. This one had some excellent selections that you don't see at all of them and the usual suspects. Place seemed clean and staff was pleasant. Prices were reasonable and the food was cooked quickly.

Good Soup

By Artie Kay |

Stopped here at the suggestion of a colleague who was enthralled by their soup from a prior visit. It’s a smallish eatery with helpful waitstaff and free pickled vegetables on each table. I ordered the wonton, hand drawn noodle soup with roast duck schezuan style. It was pleasingly spicy and flavorful. With the inclusion of the drumstick I was wanting more duck. The soup is a bit pricey, there are more affordable options in Chinatown. A few other readers mentioned their disappointment with Spice C but I surmise that it was overhyped by friends and other reviewers who raised expectations. It’s not bad.

Noodles Option

By Audrey C |

Philadelphia Chinatown has many restaurants to try. I tried Spice C and ordered the old staple wonton noodles soup and sautéed Chinese broccoli (gai lan). The food was flavorful and seasoned well. I do recommend trying Spice C.

Pricey

By Siufung Wu |

The food was ok but not great, i feel thirsty after that maybe they using an MSG. Menu descriptions not accurately right, if you want to order make sure the price and the picture exactly same.

Excellent all around

By jbudweiser |

Great noodles, with deep rich flavors. The staff was prompt and courteous. It's a definite must if your in Philly and craving Asian food. Very reasonable prices. Credit card min is $15, so if your flying solo add one of their smoothies to cross the limit. Their is an ATM in their entry, but it charges 1.75 which may as well go towards a drink.

Love Hand Drawn Noodles

By uvarobin1 |

I ordered the Sesame Chicken and the wonton/duck noodle soup. Both were quite tasty. The broth for the soup includes a perfect amount of spice. The amount of duck was disappointing in the soup but the wontons were clearly freshly made. You will need to pay in cash

It was good food; served quickly; in a no frills place.

By Susan S |

We ordered eggplant and a noodle dish with chicken, pork, and shrimp in a sauce. They were both good. We also ordered Crabb Rangoon. It was not very good. Large portions but very little actual shrimp or chicken in the noodle dish. Prices are reasonable; service is fast. Very simple place with zero ambience. Looks typical for Philadelphia's Chinatown. They could clean the place up and create new menus. the existing ones are very shabby.

Great noodles- now called Spice C Hand Drawn Noodle House

By PackaBagJohn |

So they changed their name to Spice C Hand Drawn Noodle. Quite a noodle treat. My family is from Guangzhou (Canton) and they like to get their noodle on, but are picky about their noodles. I liked it and they judged it to be quite good. My brother and I got a stir fried version and also a beef chow food disk and we thought it was good. The wife and daughter got the soup version and I know they liked it, because they went back their for lunch on Friday when I had to do something else. And being in Chinatown, they had a lot of choices.

Disappointed but good

By Ed W |

After reading reviews I had such a high expectation that eating here would be an ah ha moment and I could share with people how hand drawn noodles and the dish blew my socks off. Nope, the service was great, fast , friendly, but the food was lacking flavor... I found myself adding soy sauce, hot sauce, salt and pepper. I got the chicken shrimp pork and drawn noodles meal. The noodles are good, much better than dried , or processed noodles but no other flavor in dish. The dumplings were ok but I found some hard stuff in one that was so hard i hard to put on plate, not sure what it was. Also FYI this is a cash only place, no credit cards

A find in Chinatown

By Marco B |

This is a ḧole inthe wall" treasure: great cuisine, noodles are hand drawn all day long in the kitchen, and everything is very authentic, as demonstrated by the predominantly Chinese clientele. If visiting in a cold day, try their soups, a real specialty of the house. Oh, last but not least, great prices!

Tremendous noodle soup.

By striker1064 |

Absolutely the best meal we had during our stay in Philadelphia. Excellent hand-drawn noodles. Make sure you get the noodle soup, and get the Szechuan style soup instead of the beef brisket. I had the beef brisket soup with the medium Szechuan. It was the perfect mix of heat, flavor, and great noodles. Bonus, it's right next to a couple of excellent Asian bakeries - don't miss them either. Note that this is cash only.

China town delicious

By Monica P |

A nice trip down to Chinatown a friend of ours was pretty much familiar with the area since he went to school down there so he knew this restaurant which has gone many times two and recommended I just got the stirfry where is the other three got the broth bowls and one other one got a stirfry the food was very good we had potstickers as an appetizer with the dipping sauce was excellent I would recommend a place to anybody who goes

Cheap eats late a night.

By Rozi O |

Walk about chinatown to find a place close to the convention center. this place was open will after 10:30 pm. I forgot what time they close. Went in a ordered a spicy hand drawn noodles with lamb. Delicious.

Decent Chinese restaurant

By borance |

My adult daughter and I had lunch there. She had wonton (kreplach) in a beef broth redolent of cinnamon. She like the wonton a lot but not the broth so much because of the cinnamon. I found her dish average. I had Singapore noodles. Not a large portion for a $10 lunch price. It was fine, nothing special, no complaints. The establishment is small but clean and modern. The waitstaff is very competent. Parking in Chinatown is a real problem.

Fresh hand-made noodles, free demonstration

By locavoregal |

A great place for an inexpensive, hot meal of traditional hand-drawn noodles, made fresh with your order. Stand by the glass window of the kitchen for a demonstration by the chef who uses a simple dough of wheat flour, water, and salt to throw into the air as with a jump rope and shape into noodles without the use of a pasta machine. During the busy periods, the chef throws up to 10 pounds of dough at a time. Not to be done by the weak or faint-hearted-- and not by women, I'm told. Extensive menu. Delicious food. Low prices. Frequented by local natives.

You’ve got to eat here!

By Worktripgoodfood |

Excellent hand thrown noodles. You can watch the guy as he transforms a ball of dough into hundreds of tiny strands. The noodles can be in soup or stirfries or soups. (Love the soups). They can also shave pieces off a ball of dough which are then cooked and delicious and sort of like spaetzle. Both are awesome. Careful as it can be spice-C. Cash only.

Best Chinese in Philadelphia Chinatown!

By NotLikeaRegularMom |

Hands down, cleanest (open kitchen! See for yourself!), most refined, in short, the best Chinese food in Chinatown!

Excellent Nan Zhou style noodles

By York Shireman |

I lived this place and enjoyed every bite here. Great selection of various styles and good service. This is the place to go for me. I have spent a lot of time in China and this restaurant reminded me of many good memories.

Skip the line at Reading Market

By Mary Frances L |

If you are in Philadelphia, Reading Market is a great place to get all the local favorite foods. But if you are there during a conference, lunchtime can be crowded and take way longer than you have. Just a few block down the street is Spice C Noodles. We were able to be seated, eat our delicious hand-pulled noodles, and be back at the Convention Center in less than an hour. The friend that I went with is Asian. She said that if Spice C was in her neighborhood, she would eat there regularly. She ordered her soup with medium spice, I ordered my noodles with little spice. We were both happy with our choices.

Chinatown Date Night

By dshoegirl1 |

Headed into Chinatown for a bite to eat with my husband, son, and his girlfriend, chose Spice C Noodle on recommendation from my sons co worker. Was expecting to have to wait for a table but we were sitted immediately. Got a table for four in front. Service was very fast, quick to take our order, happy to answer questions with a big smile. We decided on a dumpling 's ordered two for appetizers. None of us ever tasted them, all of us enjoyed them. For dinner we all ordered various noodle dishes, with beef. All came with CHOP STICKS had a hard time using them staff was more then happy to supply us with forks. All dishes came out SMOKING HOT, hate cold food. Would return and recommend to people. Priced reasonable, atmosphere is okay. No alcohol ,guess you could bring your own.

Excellent soups and Noodles

By Frankie |

Short walk from the Convention Center. Stopped in around 5:00 PM for dinner. Heard good things from friends about the place. Had egg plant with garlic sauce and chicken on a stick for appetizers. They were really good and hit the spot as I was starving. Ordered the Jungle Noodle which consisted of Shrimp, veggie, egg, onion, scallions and cilantro stir fried, complimented with hot tea and a glass of water. Dinner was served fast and the staff was super attentive. Really good dishes and lots of variety. Worth your consideration.

Hand drawn noodles made in full view

By locavoregal |

Excellent fast food: quick, cheap, tasty, with the noodle-making as the entertainment. (I haven't tried the shaved noodles yet.) They have three noodle chefs on the busy weekends. I found easy parking on the same block at Bright Parking: $10 for lunch or $13 for the whole day (the attendant arrives at 10:30 am on the weekends).

Fantastic noodles!

By Straus Mouse |

Honestly, with all the great-looking restaurants in Chinatown, how do you choose? Well, Trip Advisor reviews sure helped, so we chose this spot for dinner, and were not disappointed! They, like many others around, advertise "hand-drawn" noodles, something we weren't familiar with, but we'll seek it out now - we had three different noodle dishes and they were all amazing. The beef, tendon, and brisket noodle soup had rich flavor, the wonton noodle soup with duck was warm and comforting, and the Szechuan pork soy noodles was incredible (and just as good for breakfast the next day). The noodles in all the dishes, hand cut to order, were chewy and delicious. Prices were very reasonable, we will come back!

Shaved vs pulled noodles

By Sallad13 |

My first experience eating pulled noodles! My husband and I ordered two bowls - one with wontons and vegetables pulled noodles - one with chicken, pork and shrimp with shaved noodles in a medium hot spiced broth. Delicious! Caring and attentive waitstaff refilling water glasses, bring scissors to cut the noodles and napkins. Ordered tea (Jasmine ) and ended up taking home a lot of food. There are stairs, making it non handicapped accessible. Cash only, there is an ATM.

Great food, fast service

By EE52013 |

Delicious food, wide variety of options, very fast service. The fresh hand-drawn or shaved noodles are a must-try. Note that this restaurant is cash only.

Noodles!

By D. Brian Mann |

Went to this place one, and had to come back with a friend to show him how good it was. The first time I had the traditional hand-drawn noodle soup with brisket and spicy sauce. Awesome. Plenty to take home. The second time I had a stir-fried one with a pork sauce, also fabulous. We shared the gyoza and some fried squid as well. This place is slightly upscale, a little nicer than most of the local noodle joints. Your bill will be about 30% higher than the standard place. They also have "shaved" noodles, which are made a little differently- slices into the broth from a ball of dough. Very tasty. Go for the tea as your beverage- you will definitely go home warm on these winter nights.

Cheap and tasty in Chinatown, cash only!

By Sandra C |

Food is really tasty and affordable...very casual atmosphere - formaica tables, napkins and utensils sitting in middle of table. Cash only.

GOOD, but SALTy!

By jane m |

We ate here every times we came to Chinatown. The services usually fast and the is also good most of the time. This last visit was different. Our foods were so salty its almost tasted bitter. In general, Chinese foods are so salty. Do they not know that too much salt is bad for your health? Anyway I mentioned it to the waitress and I watch her going back to the kitchen and must mentioning it to the chef, because we got the dirty look after that. Never going back. Not just for that reason, but I do not care about the way they're standing there watching while you're eating. That was rude!

Not your typical oriental fair and totally worth the trip :)

By Heather B |

A friend had mentioned it in passing and raved about the wings and let me tell you the wings are not the only star on the menu. Go hungry the menu is amazing and so are the noodles. If you get a seat by the kitchen you will be entertained for sure. If you have ever wanted to watch hand spun noodles at their finest you need to go watch the show. So I conclude by saying this place is a feast for the eyes and the stomach alike :)

Noodles!

By BostonNix |

Great noodle place! You have a choice of two kinds of homemade noodle - one a bit like spaghetti and one more chunky. Both are very good. One of my fellow diners had the soup and enjoyed it. I had the stir fried shrimp and chicken and it was a big hit with everyone at the table. Reasonably priced and don’t miss the great t-shirts for sale.

Must do spot for visitors

By Eric R |

Excellent Asian food, cash only. Large portions, food comes out hot, great flavors. Hand drawn noodles were excellent. Shrimp fried rice has lots of whole shrimp.

Amazing and authentic noodles with great flavor.

By Michael T |

Awesome place! Came here for the hand drawn noodles in szechuan sauce. It is is SLIGHTLY more pricey but it is amazing and authentic. Noodles could be a little more al dente but the flavor is amazing!

Seems like the real deal

By Bpl532014 |

Very good food, helpful wait staff. Seems to be used by local residents of Chinatown. And don't forget to shop the nearby bakeries. They're pretty awesome too

Tasty authentic Southern Chinese food

By James P |

Their noodle soup with freshly prepared wheat noodles with a variety of meat options is very tasty and can made as spicy as you want. Very authentic cuisine.

Awesome noodle house

By CKBush13 |

Visited with the family and the only regret was that we could not take the leftovers back to the hotel because everything was so fresh and delicious. We had noodle bowls - some hand drawn and some shaved - and each was flavorful and full of fresh noodles. Portions are huge and the prices are completely reasonable. Service was swift without being pushy - we will be back!

Good food indifferent service

By s c |

Busy place. May be reason felt service indifferent. However must say food flavorful. Had spicy wonton soup really enjoyed. Ordered combo entree that came too soon so was cool when got to it. Be aware cash only.

Delicious experience!

By TravelAndPix |

Came across Spice C Noodles while looking for a place to eat in Philly Chinatown. Large menu and was pleasantly surprised to see it packed with locals - always a good sign. Food was absolutely delicious. They specialize in hand drawn and shaved noodles. The flavor was very similar to Taiwanese food. Will definitely go back!

Spot on Chinese cuisine, prompt service and smiles

By tferro88 |

This part of Chinatown in Philly is a target rich environment for great Asian food, so I looked into a view places before going into this restaurant. The staff was exceedingly polite and accommodated every request with a smile. The hand-drawn noodles were excellent, and if you've never tried knife noodles, this may be the place to indulge. They were a little light on the meat and seafood in the 'Three Treasures' noodle dish, but made up for in the large portions of fresh choi, fried pork dumplings (more the size and texture of empanadas than pot stickers) and eggplant. The service was blazingly fast, the place is very clean and well ventilated, and nice decor which is more modern than the average place in this neighborhood. Can't wait to go back with a larger group. One minor drawback is they do seem to use MSG so ask if you want it left out of your meal. Prices are reasonable given the quality of food here.

Great dinner

By Terese B |

Got to watch him pull the noodles for our dinner, so cool. My husband got the Szechuan broth in medium and it was hot and tasty. I did regret not getting the Szechuan. I got the pork dumpling soup with hand pulled noodles, yummy and filling. My son went with the general tso's chicken and I have to say it was delicious! Honestly it was crunchy and sweet and spicy. One of the better ones we have had lately. Service was food and friendly. Be aware - CASH only! There is an ATM in the entrance.

Awesome hand drawn noodles in Philly Chinatown

By KhimLee |

Had lunch here on a summer afternoon and was not disappointed. Stopped by while on a business trip on recommendation of a co-worker - was not planning to visit Philly Chinatown and surprised at the variety of authentic Chinese stores and restaurants. Though not a personal fan of spicy noodles, was interested to try some other items on the menu. Ordered a basic wanton noodle soup as that was an easy yardstick for comparison - the broth was flavorful and the noodles had a good texture. There were a number of other items I would have tried and would definitely consider returning when in town.

Really good food! Noodles so fresh you can watch them made.

By poodledoop |

We went on a very rainy night in February. This was the only restaurant on the street that had a more than a couple customers - we went in. Standard no-frills interior. But you go here for the food, not the interior. Noodles were wonderful. Ground pork in my dish was nicely spiced. Noodles were very fresh and well cooked. My dining partner's roast pork was tasty and had good flavor. His carved noodles were interesting (different texture than I'm used to) and also tasty. Fried vegetarian rice for a third partner was also good. Total bill for three was $30, including tip.

The Best Soup I Ever Ate

By melissa t |

A small, unassuming place in the heart of Chinatown. My mom and I had never been to a noodle joint before, and now I am obsessed. The noodles are delicious, the portions are huge, and I boasted to anyone who would listen afterward that this was the best soup I ever had. It's a casual place, and the staff is very friendly and efficient. It was a great dining experience after a long day of wandering the city.

Best soup in philly!

By MShappell |

My wife and I go here every time we are in Philadelphia. The Szechuan broth is delicious and the noodles are some of the freshest we've ever tasted. The Treasures soup with Szechuan broth and the Wonton soup with Szechuan broth are awesome. The price can't be beat- great value for the money. Check this place out!

Delicious in every way!

By dsm231 |

This is legit hand drawn noodles! It was so good and so filling. Highly recommend stopping by this gem in Chinatown in Philadelphia! It was absolutely amazing! Note they only accept cash though but there is an ATM in case you don't have with you!

Exceptional Meal

By Bill K |

This restaurant's special is hand drawn noodles, but you really can't go wrong with anything on their menu. There is frequently a wait and they do not accept reservations. We have had a number of their dishes and they have all been delightful. We especially enjoy their potstickers.

Best noodle house in Philly Chinatown

By TravelLily007 |

Located right next to the Fire House in Chinatown, this is my favorite noodle house in Philadelphia Chinatown. I understand that the chef actual hand pulls the noodles from a lump of dough. For those who have seen it, it is even more impressive than pizza-making (sorry my Italian friends). They should show-case this process and make it visible to customers. In any event, the texture and consistency of the noodle is superb. Most of the noodle dishes are very tasty. I like their beef and tendon noodle soup. Garnished with sour pickled cabbage offered on the table, it is just great. Appetizer dishes are excellent as well. They have other fried noodle and fried rice dishes. Service and preparation is very quick. Prices very reasonable.

Mediocre

By ALISON S |

Ordered starters to share but they were just on the table when our mains arrived. Starters of schezuan spiced shrimps, pancake rolls & chicken on the skewers. Starters were all hot & tasty. Mains however left a lot to be desired. My husbands beef stir fry with hand pulled noodles was inedible - no seasoning & tasted of gristle. He couldn’t eat it. My sesame chicken was again under seasoned but at least it was edible. Indifferent service, had to ask for water, and never asked if meal was ok. Left a lot of food but was not asked if anything wrong.

Excellent Sichuan noodle soup

By BillB7206 |

Small place in Chinatown advertising hand drawn noodles. I had the Sichuan soup with drawn noodles, not chipped, as recommended by my waitress. As expected for Sichuan, quite pepper hot, but not too much for my taste which tends to liking very hot. Rich flavor.

Nice...

By RayR |

Very casual place - but VERY good food. Noodles were outstanding - but then you'd expect them to be when you can watch them being made by hand as you're ordering. A stand-out in Philly's Chinatown

One of the servers was very rude

By philip |

While we were still eating, one of the servers came and told us we have to leave because other were waiting for our table. We asked him to give us a more minutes and told him we would be done soon. After one minute later, another server came and said our time was up and we have to leave right away. No one told us there was a time limit when we entered the restaurant. He told us it's Thanksgiving Day so we should leave immediately and not make the other party wait too long. I'm not sure where he wanted us to go to finish eating the food. Another server apologized for the rude behavior, but it was unpleasant to stay any longer, so we left. We told the rude server that we will not return to his restaurant and he said "there won't be another time."

Great noodles

By marshalldown |

Super cold day in January was the perfect stop for a spicy noodle bowl with delicious hand made noodles.... Chinatown must do

Great noodles

By Chris B |

Wonderful soup with hand made noodles. Pot stickers are also highly recommended. Service is quick. The mild broth was just right for me.

Delicious food in China town

By Tullamore0506 |

Small narrow Restraunt but boy was it good !! Super fast 1st time in here. Wonton soup best I ever had shared with my daughter. Four Season chicken shrimp beef little of everything was magnificent. I also shared Chicken Curry not a huge fan of noodles but these home made ones are so different. I loved them. I also got a few dishes to take home for family members!! Reasonably priced!! I'll have to definitely come back here again.

Ah-mazing Soul Satifying In Chinatown

By capecodcove |

We wondered upon Spice C while visiting China mtown on a trip to Philadelphia. It was the perfect choice for us! Very clean and great fast service. Hand made noodles were absolutely delicious. We ordered Three stir fry, it had amazing flavors. Also ordered Szechuan soup mild with noodles and chicken. On a nippy November day, it was comforting and full of flavor, the noodles were tender and perfectly made. We did have your traditional spring rolls which were by far the freshest I have ever had. I highly recommend this cute little spot for some high quality Asian food!!

Hand-drawn noodles!

By ificouldonlyfly |

Waundering thru Chinatown for the first time, I knew I wanted to try something, but really didn't know where to begin.....When I saw the sign on the front of this place, advertising "Hand-drawn Noodles", that are made to order, I knew this was what I wanted to try. The kitchen is in the back, with a window, so you can go up and see the noodles being stretched out from a pile of dough, and turned into noodles - I though that was cool, as I'd only seen that on tv. Too bad their kitchen window wasn't visible from the street, as I think it'd drive even more people in out of curiosity. I don't even know what we got, but it was some kind of stir fry with shrimp, and the flavor was so delicious, and actually surprised me, b/c I've had dishes like this elsewhere, but nowhere near as tasty as this. We shared this dish, so we got to use the noodle cutters (these little scissors). Husband got a giant bowl of noodles and seafood, and it was also tasty, but too spicey for me. I would love to eat here again. Oh, and I should mention - they are CASH ONLY, but there's an atm by the front door.

Delicious

By Ben W |

Hand drawn noodles. Perfectly spiced. You can watch the chef making noodles as you order. Delicious. I've had noodle soup and stir fried noodles both are great.

Great!

By Rud&Jen |

We ate here based in Tripadvisor reviews. my wife & i absolutely loved it. ate here 3 times during our 7 day stay in Philadelphia Was great every time. definitely recommend

Expected it to be better based on reviews

By Beth R |

Food was good and enhanced by homemade noodles. The chicken shrimp and pork combo was my favorite. It also come in a curry version and will try that next. Service was mediocre, never refilled water unless you flagged them down Cash only

Delicious!!!!

By RannJ |

This small restaurant in Center City is awesome. Friendly wait staff and delicious food. We had vegetable rolls and an eggplant dish and garlic tofu with rice. Sauces are unique and flavorful. Such a good time.

Totally awesome food, but bring cash!

By Jack Miller |

we enjoyed the noodle very much. it’s spicy and great for a very very cold day in philly. however, it was a bit awkward when we asked for the check and learned that it’s cash only. had to rush to an ATM outside...

Beautiful, tasty food

By beachkiki |

We walked by while in Chinatown and decided to try this small eatery. Our meals were beautifully presented and was delicious. Service was pleasant but not very attentive. We would go back.

GLAD WE STOPPED.....

By Tye G |

Hubs and I originally went to Chinatown to munch at David's Place around 2ish in the afternoon, but it was closed (as most of the Chinese restaurants in Chinatown were.) This spot looked appealing on the outside--so we went in--!! Soooo glad we did!!! Service was fast and accurate. Food was AMAZE-BALLS--!!!! My husband ordered his usual, Chicken fried rice and chicken wings,--the rice was slightly sweet and very Delish! The wings were wingettes served with Thai Chili Sauce and tasty! My Shrimp Garlic Veggie dish was Perfect! I was craving for something slightly spicy so I asked them to make it mildly spicy and they did. The staff was always within hands reach should you need anything. I must say It felt so good to try another "New Favorite" spot! PS-- it's nothing more cool than observing art while you eat. You must visit the restaurant 2 see what I'm talking about-- you won't be disappointed!! Lol!

Great noodles in Philly

By tkleeman |

We both had the hot and spicy (mala 麻辣) noodles. I had the knife-cut (daoxiao 刀削) and my wife had the hand-drawn (shoula 手拉) noodles. You can get them with any toppings you want. We had wontons and duck. The only disappointment was the duck, which was a bit old and bony. The noodles were excellent! Nicely chewy and full of flavor. We got only the medium hot (zhongla 中辣) and found it quite spicy. Ambience was nice for a noodle joint and the people seemed quite friendly. Highly recommended.

Excellent noodles but bad service

By marcopoloulisse |

Noodles and other food were very good; to add some fun you can see the noodle chef pulling dough like a juggler. Unfortunately service is not so good; they put a lot of pressure to get you out of there asap. I understand business is business but there is a limit to everything. In conclusion, go for the food but be loaded with patience.

So Delish!

By Kimberly W |

I had a taste for soup and I was excited for spicy noodles. Behold I got me a bowl of pure delish. I opted for the wonton soup and my friend got vegetable szchecwan stir fry. The food was fresh and flavorful. I loved it. Definitely going again.

Don't walk by!

By Richard K |

A small corner restaurant on the edge of Chinatown near the convention center. It was highly recommended by the hotel staff! Best take out around. Great noodles both hand drawn or shaved. Had the Three Treasures stir fry it was excellent .

Last minute date night A+++++ choice

By Jim M |

My wife and I were in Philly just seeing the city (translation.. she was killing time so on the way home we could stop at Temple to visit our son who hasn’t been home in three weeks.. to be on the safe side I text him to make sure he was at school this weekend… sorry I digress lol) ..and decided to walk over to Chinatown for a bite to eat. After a quick check on Trip advisor I found Spice C Noodle…which had good reviews. The place was packed with young people always a good sign..We only waited about 10 minutes.. but it was well worth the short wait. Service was very fast, quick to take our order, happy to answer questions with a big smile. We decided on fried Tofu and spring rolls for appetizers… for our meals we had the stir fry vegetables and Phi Thai both very good..The came with CHOP STICKS or the staff is more than happy to supply us with forks. All dishes came out SMOKING HOT Would return and recommend to people. Priced reasonable, atmosphere is okay. No alcohol and is cash only.,. they have a sign as soon as you walk in..also an ATM on site if you need cash..Oh.. one other thing to remember.. they bring the dishes out as soon as they are ready.. so they both might not come out at the same time (maybe a couple minute delay)… but it works.. your meals are all hot when you get them because one is not waiting for another..

Pretty good! We know this

By Rosetwig |

Pretty good! We know this location from the prior owners, but were mostly not disappointed by the changes;the fried pork dumplings were good, but not quite as good as before. We both had hand drawn noodle soup; the basic broth is very flavorful and the special spicy broth made my adventurous dining partner happy. The meats that accompanied both broths were just ok.. there was barely any meat on the roasted duck in the soup. The book choy was the best bite other than the noodles which were perfect. Great local spot!

Hand Drawn Noodles

By ltj117 |

The Food in this Restaurant is Absolutely Excellent. You can watch your noodles being Hand Drawn to order and they were the Best that I have ever had. The broth that they were served in was some of the best, not weak in flavor like most noodle shops, and I have visited many. The next time that you are in Philly or if you live in the city be sure to stop in for a wonderful meal.

Great place for a good lunch, excellent food

By Ksprenger111 |

Just popped in for a quick lunch, wait staff was a bit indifferent but the food came quick and was very good. I ordered one of the specials and it was excellent. Seems to be a quite popular place. I will go back again.

Tasty, authentic Chinese food

By xcschlr |

This is another restaurant in Philadelphia Chinatown that serves excellent, authentic Northwestern (Shaanxi, Gansu and Sichuan) Chinese food. Similar to most Chinese restaurants there, the atmosphere is nothing to rave about; but this keeps the cost down and enables the restaurant to attract patrons from across a wide range of income groups among the local Chinese community. I only tried the seafood noodle soup and pork dumplings for supper, and they were both all very tasty. Because the chef makes the noodles by hand, the service can be a little slow when there are a lot of customers. So, one may need a little patience for such good food. I wish we had such a local restaurant where I live. Another Chinese restaurant that I tried for lunch the previous day is also very good (reviewed separately).

Always good!

By Lisa B |

My daughter and I always go before concerts at the Trocadero and have never been disappointed! Everything we have tried has been amazing! We recommend parking in the garage near the terminal market because parking in Chinatown is difficult. If you're going to a concert, you get a discount on parking.

What a find! Do not hesitate.... I’d go back in a flash!

By lpb1966 |

We were planning on eating elsewhere but stumbled on this place and decided to go in! The food is to die for. We had chicken noodles, pineapple rice, and sesame chicken. Stunning. Oh and fried pork dumplings to start! Wow....

Best hand drawn noodles!

We found this place based on the great reviews from TripAdvisor, and it did not disappoint! We have been several times now and it just keeps getting better and better! In the heart of Chinatown, this place makes you feel like you are getting an authentic experience. You can see the cooks at work preparing the hand drawn noodles. The staff is friendly and efficient. Prices are reasonable, check out the Japanese crepe place across the street when you're done!

Stopped here after the Great Covid-19 Lockdown with some business colleagues. There aren’t many eat in choices in Chinatown these days. Not sure if it’s the lack of waitstaff or the oppressive city government restrictions. Nevertheless we were happy to find Spice C open for eat in lunchtime. They haven’t missed a beat. The soups are still spot on as well as the rice platters. It was sad to see the table pickled cabbage all cooped up in tiny single serving condiment containers. They tasted dry and platisine. However I digress. Spice C is getting back to full stride. I hope the rest of Chinatown catches up soon.
