If you are up for some GOOD FOOD at a reasonable price... In the mood for some good music... And in the neighborhood...? This place is a must! We actually were (kind of) in the neighborhood and actually found Natachee's Supper n' Punch on Trip Advisor! SO...THANK YOU TRIP ADVISOR!!! I will be back! Good food! Onion rings...thick cut, flaky breading. Club Sandwich w/plenty of nacon and a nice piece of cheddar. And the Country Fried Steak? Flaky breading...mashed potatoes and the greens medley...? Whaaaaaat? Awesome!

Walking through a quiet Houston we felt lost when we stumbled across Natachee's. It was great, awesome decor, friendly staff and tasty food- plenty of choice for a veggie which is rare to say for many of the restaurants we visited in Texas. Good value for money. We didn't warm to Houston but would go back just for Natachee's!!!

We were walking from downtown to the Menil Galleries and we noted Natachee's as a place we might want to stop at on our return trip for dinner. There were a few people there in the middle of the afternoon and we always look for restaurants that have patrons. It is usually a good indicator that the place is good to eat at. We did stop in on the return trip and although there were several other eateries along the route to choose from we were very happy with our choice. First, the waiter was attentive enough but not overbearing. He seemed to be there when he was needed but was otherwise invisable. In a high class restaurant this is expected but Natachee's is a diner and ususally the wait staff are not so sensitive. The food was very good. I did not need all the fries but I usually find restaurant portions are too large for me. I had a pulled pork sandwich and was taken back by how spicy the sauce was, (the waiter mentioned that there should be warning on the menu) but the sandwich was not too hot to eat and infact was very tasty. I am not likely to return as I live many miles to the north of Houston and if I do get back in the area I will want to visit a different corner of the city, but I would say if you have the chance give the place a try.

We all tried each other's food and agreed, very bland in taste and the punches were not much to be desired. I do, however, like the selection of beers they offer. The construction is also a negative.

We have eaten at Natachee's a couple of times. Food is always good--and there is lots of it! Staff is friendly. Adequate selection of beers. If you sit outside--make sure your table is NOT under the trees!

Great, home cooked comfort foods. The atmosphere is funky as this is part of a rockabilly/hipster block of main street. There is also a beauty shop and concert hall near by. The waitstaff is friendly and helpful.

Food was excellent everyone in our very large group enjoyed their food very much. However when we arrived and advised how may were coming a table for 4 less than our group was set up, when the remaining members of the party showed up two of the waitress got an attitude and did nothing to hide it then we had to for ourself add a table. I'd like to add that it was NOT our waitress who got the attitude. Our waitress did a wonderful job of getting the orders correct, with just a little trouble in remembering who had which meal. After dinner as we were moving to the very large outdoor sitting area we got dirty looks and additional attitude from the same two waitress who had no contact with our group.

My title tells it all. Laid back atmosphere, friendly service, awesome menu. Good Home Cooking. Favorite is the Chicken Fried Chicken. Fresh home cooked veggies for sides. Great price and value.

Tried to go to Natachee's on a Fri night for some food and a few drinks before a soccer match. We'd allowed about 75 mins, which we thought would be long enough, as the place was less than half full, and we advised them when we went in that we were in a bit of a rush. It took about 5 mins for them to come over and finally seat us. We were then told that they'd bring us over a menu "when they could find a free one" - I've never been anywhere that doesn't have enough menus, as you'd think it was quite a basic requirement for a restaurant. After about 20 mins of trying to get anyone's attention, we finally got up from our table and walked over to where a member of staff was and asked about ordering drinks. 5 mins later, she came to take the order. 15 mins later she brought over the drinks and a menu (1 between 5 of us!), and about 30 seconds later asked if we were ready to order - give us a chance to read the thing please! Unfortunately, when she said she'd be back in 2 mins to take our order, she meant 10 mins, so by the time she came back we only had about 20 mins before we had to go, and clearly we weren't going to get our food in time, so we just asked for the bill (which came quickly enough....) and went somewhere else to grab something quick. Very disappointed, and won't be going back to sample the food at any point.

3 of us had lunch on a hot Sunday afternoon. The menu looked fun and good, but the reality was that the food was only average. I had the Skillet Lickers that would have been pretty good if the onions had been peeled before they were cooked. I ended up with a mouthful of uneatable onion skin. However the homemade chips were tasty. The chicken wings were overdone. The atmosphere was unique and it was fun to watch the commuter trains coming and going. Also got a big kick out of the credit card display near the bathrooms. Glad we tried the place but won't be rushing to make a return visit.

Finally went here this past weekend...it was delicious...homemade...it was all homemade ! Atmosphere is kid friendly..food was great and server's were polite...not much parking so ride the metrorail if you can...we will definitely be back !

Good place to take the kids for a weekend lunch. Child's meal is served in a lunch box with old school Westerns on the TV. For those with a large appetite try the Astrodome burger. Loved the sweet potato fries, nice and crispy. The adult punches lived up to the hype. Funky decor in a hipster area, right next to the commuter train.

Just a fun, eclectic place for lunch. The meatloaf and eggs are great. Quick and friendly service. Kind of a strange decor. Reminded me of a "Keep Austin Weird" kind of feel. Just fun and not too serious. Great place for a quick lunch and right on the rail line.

My sister's and I stumbled across this place one evening. It was not what we were originally looking for but we decided to give it a try. I must say it is a really cool atmosphere. Really neat decor. I ordered a punch, it was good, but SUPER sweet! I also order chicken friend chicken (pretty good), mac n cheese (oh--heavenly!) And mashed potatoes. Definitely comfort food. We saw a family with children, their kids meals came out in old school tin lunchboxes, which was SO cute! They had trivia games at the table. I think this would be so fun to take the fam to!

Yes, there is a lot of construction and parking is at a premium- BUT you can park ay Trinity Episcopal lot Holman&Main for $5.00--- then enjoy all the outdoor Christmas lights as you walk the one block to the front door. There was live music setting up when we arrived. Lots of people all dressed up and lots of people casually dressed plus a couple of kids outside playing. Great tilapia both grilled and fried-- spinach was terrific and we did the fried pickles first. It's a great family place

I was recently in Houston with my family for the weekend, we were meeting some friends who live downtown for a late Sunday breakfast before heading out of town. They suggested Natachee's, we had no idea what it was but I'm glad they picked that place. There is a pretty extensive menu of comfort foods, since we were there at 10 a.m. we didn't get to sample them. But the breakfast food was definitely comforting, and everyone in our party enjoyed the meal. I had the biscuits and gravy with eggs, the gravy had some seasoning in it (it was orangish rather than white) and was delicious. I also sampled some of my kids' pancakes (which were good), had some of the fruit from my wife's overflowing fruit bowl, and sampled a bite of the breakfast sliders (quite spicy with the jalapenos). All in all, it was really good food. The place started to fill up as we were there, and we noticed a growing lag in the time it took our server to make it back to our table. But all the servers were very friendly and accommodating of the multiple kids in our group, and most of the folks in the place seemed to be there to enjoy a lazy Sunday rather than to get their food quickly and run out again. There are two real jewels at Natachee's. The first is the "punch" in their "Supper 'n Punch" name. They have a number of specialty punches (and also very good bloody mary's to start your weekend), I tried the Triple Dog Dare Punch and thought it was great. The other is the outside area. They have a great (small) stage for live music, and a couple fenced-in areas where kids can play (including a nice sandbox area). It wasn't particularly hot (yet) when we were there, but there were several shade trees providing some relief from the 80 degree temps and humidity. I would recommend Natachee's to folks looking for some decent, honest cooking and for folks who are looking to enjoy themselves and relax in an environment where kids can also roam freely and safely. I will definitely try to get back there on my next trip to Houston

Great place to have breakfast. Eggs and grits were perfect. Coffee was good, waitress kept out cups full. Biscuit and gravy above average, not great, but good. My son had fried pickles and they were great. Can't wait to come back and try the supper menu.

Our first visit to Natachee's was stellar. The waitress as great, the food was amazing. Our second visit as a far cry from the first. We had 8 people both visits. The first visit was about 1 on a saturday afternoon, and the business was average for that time of day. Got great service and food that day. 3 weeks later we returned, hoping for the same type of experience. The most recent visit we arrived on Sunday around noon. They werent packed, and there as no wait for a table, but since it was so nice, we sat outside on the patio. Our waitress arrived and took our drink orders. She brought the drinks and began to take our food orders. This is when the visit began to turn south. Our waitress takes about half of the orders, then interrupts the 5th person in our party while she is placing her food order, to YELL at another waitress to tell a 3rd waitress to attend to a table with a large amount of guests inside, she will not be able to get to them now. .!?!?! I'm sorry, we didnt realize our pesky need for placing a food order was interrupting her! We were all pretty shocked. I placed my order for a yankee chili mac, and requested the chili and the mac and cheese be placed in bowls seperately so I could add them together as I wanted. The first visit, i requested this and the waitress said it was not a problem, and frequently requested. This visit, however, our waitress quipped, " they can't do that, it's already made like that in the kitchen." i did not protest, and just figured she was too busy for that. However, I don't appreciate being lied to as if I was too stupid to know better. I still requested the chli mac. We also placed an appetizer order. We chatted and passed the time till we were All out of beverages and noticed about 20 minutes had gone by since our app order was placed. Waitress is nowhere in sight. Another 10 minutes goes by and the waitress comes back in a huff, slamming her order pad out onto the book, then asks who wanted drink refills. Um....ok. She takes the bar drink orders, then comes back with water and fills one of the girls empty glass of sweet tea up with water. The girl tells her the beverage was wrong, and gives the cup to her as the drink was now a mix. The girl requests a different drink. We inquired about our appetizer and our waitress tells us that she has no idea where it is at, and once she puts the prder into the computer, she has no control over how quickly the food arrives. Its allup to the kitchen. Really? Out of 8 people she really beleives none of us have ever waited tables before? Come on. So the appetizer arrives 45 minutes after we placed it. Then the food arrives after the app was finished and not all of it comes out. The rest of the food arrives, and we have no silverware, the drinks are empty, the plates were mostly missing things like sides or bread/bisquits. When the rest arrives, we were very frustrated but ate anyway. My corn was not delicious and even had a suspicious taste. The chili mac was 90% chili, 10% mac and cheese, and I am not exaggerating. One girl ordered a breakfast and the gravy was cold (maybe from waiting for silverware?) another was missing the bread for her food. Then as expected, it got worse. One of the bar drinks had a foil wrapper that had been crumpled for garbage floating in the drink! It looked like a gum wrapper or something, point is, that it was not part of the drink ingredients. Once again waitress is nowhere to be found. We flag down another waitress, apologize for bothering her, and tell her about the drink, requesting a new one. Waitress humbly takes the drink back. Moments later our waitress returns in more of a huff, does not apologize, and asks immediately who's drink it belonged to and what she was eating. (shouldnt she know that?) she leaves to what we assume is to credit the dinner and drink on the check. Not one apology. No explanation. And even though a new drink arrives, one of the members of our group decided enough was enough, and went to speak with a manager. Whe the girl returns to the table, she says she spoke with the manager, went to the restroom, only to overhear as she returned to the table, our waitress and manager speaking on the matter, & our waitress dismissing the complaint as we were lying! Unbeleivable! I would not have beleived her, but the manager NEVER came to the table to apologize, or make it right. One top of that, our waitress charged the girl whos drink of sweet tea she mistakenly filled with water and had to bring a different drink, for 2 drinks! The waitress was smart enough to include gratuity in our checks, because our satisfaction with the service would have definitely been reflected in our tips. If we wanted to be treated like dirt, we could have eaten at Dick's Last Resort, at least they are funny when they treat you like crap. We come to Houston about once a month for work so our lunch meal before we leave town is our moment to relax and enjoy each other's company before our roadtrip back home. natachee's has failed us as a regular eatery. We won't be back.

Hot breakfast, good coffee and excellent service. Eggs and grits were perfect, Sausage gravy and biscuit were above average, not great. My son had the fried pickles, some of the best I've ever had. We will definitely return here for breakfast again. Can't go wrong if you are looking for home style breakfast food, nothing fancy or gourmet, just great breakfast.

My husband and I went there for a romantic evening. It was so elegant and they treated you quite special.

This place is all about ambiance. It has such a cool vibe. Trivial pursuit cards on the table, Bonanza on the TV, and 1950s-1960s music. Plus the food is delicious! I had "yankee mac" which is mac n' cheese with chili on top because it was a rainy day and every bite was delicious.

I am telling you that if you are in the mood for an appetizer you should really consider the fried green beans (even if you don't normally like green beans). They are fantastic, cruncy and fresh on the inside and fried to perfection with a spicy ranch dipping sauce. We usually bring friends along when visiting and not one has ever disliked the fried green beans (even those we have had to convince trying it in the first place). The chili cheese fries are also quite delicious (particularly if you are in the mood for some of that heart-attack-on-a-plate comfort food, which I sometimes crave). I've had the burgers, the yankee chili mac, the meatloaf, and the chicken fried chicken - to be honest the entrees are average, each dish had a component that I felt could be improved but my husband really likes the food and I'm always willing to try something new on the menu. I'd also like to mention Natachee's Sucker Punch - it is wonderful, and so sweet I hardly can detect the alcohol (it's in there though, so drink carefully!). The atmosphere is fun and friendly, outdoor patio seating with a stage that hosts live music regularly. Prices are reasonable and kids meals come in a tin lunch box - very cute. The Continental Club is next door as well as a few rockabilly-type shops.

We went for brunch one day before we planned on going to the Museum. The atmosphere was great... The food was just ok...nothing special...But the Drinks were cheap and good

This is a great diner type place where you get good food, good service and a bill that doesn't make you reach for your heart pills.

Yup Fried Pickles are best in Houston--huge amount, lightly breaded and sooooooocrispy! You can order the turkey burger (moist) or the cesar salad (fresh) to go with it-- Or if you're up for adventure-- try any breakfast offering with'em--You will love it-- Great waitstaff, great venue-- outside in springtime is fab. Kids little metal lunch boxes to eat out of when they order-- lots of room for kids to play--Yea!

The food was awesome! We had the fried green beans and they were so delicious, my 6 year-old who hates green beans ate most of them. The kids both had the kids meal slider burgers and they were delicious! The kids meals came in metal lunch boxes. That was a cool touch! I had the daughter-in-law veggie burger with sweet potato fries and my husband had the adult version of the sliders. All of our food was good and HUGE portions! I couldn't finish my burger. We loved the atmosphere and the kids liked watching the light rail from our table outside. Then it happened...My son says "Look! a squirrel!" We all look and no, it was not a squirrel. Upon closer inspection, it was indeed a rat! A large, nasty rat. He was slowly climbing down the wall to meet us for dinner. Luckily, we were done eating and quickly asked for our check. We quietly mentioned to the waitress that they may need traps or a solution to their friends and she didn't seem to be concerned. The other gentleman we mentioned it to didn't seem all that offended by the furry guy either. There is construction going on next door so I'll give them that. But still, a bit of concern would have made me feel better. So, they would have gotten 5 stars from me and that's hard to do but the rat changes my rating. Will we return? Probably. They haven't quite lost a customer. I just won't sit outside.

Good home style food with a bar and indoor and outdoor seating. Yankee chili Mac is good along with their chicken fried steak, meatloaf special and their punch drinks. It's a place to come with friends and relax. I likey.....

Ok so I've been reading the city's best in the Houston Press so I been trying a few of these spots that were highly rated. The extra star is for the random drum and accordion player who showed up and ran around playing music for a few minutes then ran out the back door lol. I went for dinner/drinks. Sat at the bar. To be sitting directly at the bar with 2 bartenders behind, it could have been better. Wasn't too bad but it wasn't good. Tried whatever the blue punch is, supposed to be like a long island,, and according to the bartender the strongest of their punches. I'll have to beg to differ. Didn't feel a thing after drinking that thing on an empty stomach. So on to why my stomach was still empty Ordered the chicken friend chicken(gravy on the side please) with mashed potatoes(gravy on the side pls) and mac and cheese. Of course I got a plate with a mound of gravy on the chicken and mashed potatoes. Wasn't even sure where the chicken was it was so much gravy. Mentioned it to the bartender. "oh do you want me to send it back"? Well yeah, this is exactly why I asked for it on the side after seeing the guy next to me with a plate of overflowing gravy. Just too much for me. So got my dinner another 10-15 min later. Chicken fried chicken was nice and crispy. That gravy, It didn't taste like anything to me to be honest. Not flavorful at all. Anytime I have to add salt/pepper to food already prepared it just ain't right. Mac and cheese had to be kraft. Not even as good as Velveetas out the box. I'm not a great cook by far but mine is better than this crap. Mashed potatoes were ok. Forgettable. I would just get the chicken again to go and make my own gravy. Theirs is no way worth the calories your body is ingesting. One star for the food, one star for the cool austin like atmosphere and1 for the band. I prob won't be back.

We had breakfast in this really neat old building with lots of quaint retro decorations. I had a pancake and a bowl of fresh fruit which were both excellent. It's a fun place to visit and I highly recommend it.

We were really enjoyed our food from Natachee. We had a Groupon and wanted to use it on a Sunday. We didn't get there until 5pm and they close at 6pm on a Sunday so we opted for take-away. They had a band playing outside in the beer garden and the place was busy (always a good indicator). Sean the barman was very helpful too. The food was very reasonably priced and although we had to reheat when we got home we were impressed with the flavours. All in all this is a great little find if you are looking for somewhere relaxed, affordable and good food. We would definitely go there again.
Great Food and Atmosphere if You Have Time_DvB
Natachee’s offers a modern Southern food selection that is filling, flavorful, and fairly priced. On my two visits, the televisions were airing episodes of the original Hawaii-Five-O (Jack Lord as Steve McGarrett) and other classic programming. On my first visit the service was slightly delayed, but the restaurant was crowded. Peak lunch time traffic excused the minor tardiness compared to sit-down chain restaurants. The food more than made up for the wait as it vastly surpassed the usual chain fare. Both visits I ordered the chicken blt with the fried rather than grilled breast of chicken centering this heaping portion of sandwich superiority. The fries were very good, but not especially better than any other decent place to eat. My second visit deviated only with the length of time it took our waitress to come around each time. The food was just as delicious and the atmosphere as conducive to lunch-time conversation and unwinding. Had our group been hourly workers though, we would have either had to take food to-go or risk reprimand. Both occasions saw friendly servers with laid back demeanor. It seems like a popular spot for young professionals at downtown businesses to head out in groups for a scenery shift. The tables are close, but not uncomfortably so, and the ambient volume is a pleasant murmur so that on voice isn’t carrying over others and conversational tone is sufficient to share workplace stories or weekend recaps. I foresee many more trips to enjoy this food and atmosphere, and will simply allocate more time for the casual service speed.
