Sad Experience Turned Into a Happy Experience

By Jay S |

We went to the Spire 73 Restaurant and Bar @ The Intercontinental Hotel LAX with my kids to spend a nice evening together. But we had a bad encounter with one of the staff which discouraged us from staying. Luckily, one of their hostesses, Eunice, noticed us about to leave frustrated from our experience, and asked, "What happened?" and immediately got the attention of their restaurant Manager, Eduardo. He was so professional that he made our unpleasant night in their restaurant turn into an interesting and memorable time for all of us. We were really very impressed with how he handled the situation. Kudos to Eduardo and Eunice! You helped us leave satisfied because of your commitment to excellent service that fit perfectly with the 5-star hotel experience.

Great views

By -Guzzis-are-ace- |

Spire73 offers fantastic views with drinks at reasonable prices considering the location of the bar! A tip for non hotel guests, there is an entry charge however you can go to the bar on the 70th floor without any entry charges with pretty much the same amazing views!! Either is great.

unfriendly staff at the entrance/sloppy service at the bar

By Tomm F |

how stupid is it to request hotel guests to bring id when they have hotel keys and their id/hotel details can be checked at the entrance?

Stunning views

By Helen C |

Super smooth lift takes you up 1000ft in seconds. Very chic setting but music too loud for conversation. Expensive but that’s to be expected in such a wonderful setting

Needs improvement

By Yosi |

The view of Los Angeles from a 73rd floor building is amazing, but the menu is limited and drinks are way to expensive. A great place for a tea though

Great for Sunset Cocktails

By drinksanddinner |

Was in LA with my partner and was looking for a special place for drinks. Spire 73 totally fit the bill. We got there early on a Tuesday (4pm) and we had our pick of tables. We had a reservation at 5:45 somewhere else, so we left early but the after-work crowd was definitely picking up as we were leaving. The drinks are pricey, but that's to be expected. The views are spectacular and the service was very good. We would absolutely recommend Spire 73 for drinks and a view!

Amazing View, So-So Cocktails and Seating

By Csodle19 |

A 5-star for the incredible views, a 3-star for the cocktails and seating. Very glad we made a point to see it, but not on the list for the next visit to LA. Extremely cool rooftop patio, but disappointed in the taste of a very simple Tito's and Tonic and the seating was bizarre--you couldn't sit by your partner on the bird cage-like seats that surrounded the edges of the patio.

Sky Spire

By RB259 |

Definitely for the 'Clubby/$$$$' crowd more than the average hotel guest. But hey, I can say I had a cocktail on a rooftop 73 stories in the sky!

Great food

By SORork |

We had drinks and appetizers which were delicious. Staff was awesome! Very chilly though. :) Views were stunning! Hip & trendy place with cool music.

Get in Early for some people watching before sunset

By Fernetdan |

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Spire73, full disclosure if you want to kill some time and have cheap beer this is not the place to go. If you like people watching and views that will rival Griffith Observatory this it the place, and the cocktails ain't bad either. Pro-tip for late summer, arrive about an hour and a half before sunset keep an eye out for a seat by the rail and settle in for some sights both outside and inside the bar. Whether it is guests staying at the hotel mingling, awkward after work tinder dates or tourists trying to fit in Spire73 is the place. We had several Gin and Tonics and an Old Fashioned and the drinks were all of high standard, we slipped out shortly after sunset, but if I was in LA again I would definitely visit.

Better when there is less haze - -

By WalkingInLA |

Introduced a new group to Spire73 and was so happy to share the fun with them. Came up to enjoy the view but it was a very hazy day so could not see too much. Thought it would clear up, but it didn't. Drinks are delicious/expensive, We were celebrating, so it is really fun. This trip it was Dec. and cold, so we ordered the S'mores thinking it would warm us up, but it's more of a fire hazard. Delicious but hard to manage. Tasty, but we felt that we couldn't control it, so we boxed it up and took it away with us. We loved the music they were playing at the bar. The blue fountain is beautiful and the bathrooms are lovely. I'm sure that we will return again...because it's a lovely experience and fun to do.

Worst Experience I Have Had in LA

By TravelingFam3 |

I visited the Intercontinental recently as I plan meetings and events. The first thing that struck me as terrible was there was a very strong smell of perfume when you arrive at the elevators. The elevators are then extremally confusing to use to take you to the 70th floor where you check in. We had a nice drink in the lobby and then decided to check out the rooftop as we have a friend doing a buyout of the property in June and using this for a large event. This is where everything went terribly wrong. We took the elevator up here and there was a bouncer outside. He mumbled to us about a cover charge, which genuinely we didn't understand what he was saying. Mind you we were at the venue at 4pm on a Wednesday, not a Saturday night. We finally understood him and said we just want to see the venue (we aren't going to stay), he then turns to the person working the front desk and they look us dead in the eye and say "no way" in the rudest manner I have ever heard (you can do the work to see who was working this day). I said I planned meetings and mentioned my sales manager and the front desk person screamed "we don't care, go tell you sales person, you can't enter". I have NEVER been treated so rudely. I would NEVER do business at this hotel and someone should tell these associates they are in the business of hospitality, not treating people rudely. BTW, how presumptuous to think that this hotel could charge a cover of $10 on a Wednesday to have a drink at the rooftop. Good luck!

Fabulous food, service, and view!

By kel400 |

i had booked this IHG hotel months in advance and the day of my arrival was checking out the amenities on the website and discovered they had a restaurant on the 73rd floor. after reading about the place and checking out the reviews i thought it was the perfect place for a bite before a concert. i was able to get a reservation right when they opened and we had a great table and unobstructed view in front of the edge of the building. we watched a fabulous sunset and enjoyed the view and being up so high. our server was so nice and friendly and showed up exactly when we needed her to. my spouse and i shared a bottle of red and we both had the atlantic salmon for dinner. the salmon was some of the best i had ever had! portions were big and the fish came with carrots, braised onions, pea puree and a radish salad. it was completely satisfying. i would come back here in a heartbeat. the ambiance was just so nice, with fire light all over the deck and cool, relaxing music playing. apparently blankets are available upon request but i didn't need one and it wasn't too windy when we were there. if you want to do something fun one night this was just a great romantic dinner. they do advertise a minimum spend and a 2 hour time limit but we had no problem with either.

Nice Location, Beautiful View

Very nice place with a fantastic view over LA. Food and drinks are very delicious and tasty and the staff is very friendly too.

Fun Rooftop Bar

By Cara C |

Had a great experience at Spire 73 as a guest of the hotel. The bar is no frills and while business casual dress code is enforced, it’s a very chill atmosphere with grass covered benches and pod-like seating by the glass. Service was quick and friendly. Drinks were strong. It is quite windy up here, but they do provide heaters. The views are a bit obstructed by all of the dirt on the glass, so taking a decent photo is probably not going to happen.

Can’t beat the views At this beautiful rooftop bar 73 stories up on a perfect night with no cloud coverage. we went at sunset so we could get daylight and night light views. Have happy hour drinks and appetizers. The elevator ride up was very smooth up towards the hotel lobby on floor 70 .

Drinks on top of LA

By COMTECIERGE |

After a long day around town we decided to try the panoramic bar at the Intercontinental that just opened in downtown. The view was good but it was a bit windy and they didn't have heat lamps yet. Overall a great experience to enjoy drinks with a city view.

Amazing View

By Charlotte G |

The views from Spire 73 were breathtaking. We stayed two nights in the Intercontinental DTLA IHG hotel on the 50th floor. Upon arrival into our room we made reservations at Spire 73. The night of our reservation we took the glass elevator from the 70th floor lobby to the 73rd floor. We were seated right away at our table. It was 60 degrees Fahrenheit that evening and the wind was blowing. We were quite chilled. Make sure to dress warm. I selected the ribeye steak and carrots. The steak was cooked perfectly and was tasty. The carrots were roasted and delicious.

Excellent

Beautiful location, innovative drinks, personable service that was attentive and focused. Limited food menu items were excellent. No complaints and the LAPD flyby was a bonus.

I wanna go back now

A very unique experience. Great for big groups or a romantic evening. The views are amazing. I recommend dining at the restaurant if you also want to guarantee access.

Terrible from start to finish

By Ashley J |

I booked Spire 73 to take a friend visiting from out of town, and the service was honestly terrible. I reserved a table with a view, but the heater above it wasn’t working. We politely asked to move and were placed in the middle of the restaurant—no view and even colder. We asked three separate times to be moved to a table with a working heater. Each time we were told “yes,” yet no one ever came back. Meanwhile, new bookings and even walk-ins were being seated right away under heat lamps. We also saw other guests being offered blankets, which we never received. We ordered two medium filet mignons, and both arrived rare. Halfway through, the waitress asked how everything was after noticing one plate untouched. They offered to redo it, but by then it was too late—my friend had already eaten theirs so we could leave just to warm up. When we asked for the check, we were asked if we wanted the steaks boxed to go! Not what you expect when you have already highlighted the issue with the food and haven’t touched a fillet mignon. Then the bill arrived with an automatic service charge added, which felt like a joke after everything: poor service, undercooked food, no view despite booking one, sitting in the cold for over an hour, and staff avoiding eye contact the whole time. At the very least, they could have removed the incorrect dish or taken off the service charge. For the price we paid, I’d choose any other scenic restaurant over this experience. The 1 star is strictly for the view we never actually got.

Day or Night

By Kelsey Ann |

I Always LOVE coming here! The service is a bit slow but the manager is just so courteous and willing to help that you just forget about it. Of course the view is SPECTACULAR and the food is great too! Come here to see the sunset, it’s a beautiful experience to see La during daylight and night! :)

AMAZING Views - A Must See

By Michael M |

We actually visited the lobby bar, located just below Spire 73 as the rooftop bar opening was delayed due to excessive heat. The lobby bar however offered amazing views and good drink selection. Obviously drinks are a bit pricier than closer to the ground, but it was worth it. We could see Santa Monica, Long Beach, Pasadena, and had a clear view of the mountains. This is definitely a must see. By the way, the hotel's lobby is on this floor - not on the ground level as one might expect.

good food, great view, lousy attitude

By Sue F |

It's never a good sign when you check in for your reservation, and they tell you that there is a 2-hour limit for your table, and a $60 minimum per person. I could (almost) understand the minimum - this place has an AMAZING view, and the InterContinental is an upscale hotel. But I hate it when they act like you are a moocher right from the start. And it turned out even worse than that. Our wait person was amazingly slow to bring our drinks, so our first round of drinks actually arrived after our food, which was really frustrating, since I like to enjoy my wine with my food. And when we ordered our second drinks (to make up the $60 minimum), they were really slow with those too. So our second round of drinks didn't arrive until after we were totally done with our food (see "like my wine with my food", above). And when she delivered our drinks, our wait person asked us if we wanted anything else, and when we said "no", in spite of the fact that she had just delivered our second round of drinks, she said she'd bring our check. And this was only about 1 hour and 20 minutes into our supposed 2 hour time slot. A few minutes later, she shoved our check under our noses. And then she came and very obviously cleared everything off our table (I feared she might also try to clear our still mostly-full second drinks), and then asked us again if we wanted anything else. And then she came by again, at about the 1 hour and 40 minute mark, and made it pretty clear that she expected us to leave, although I, at least, still had a few sips of my second glass of wine left. So...if you are going to be rude enough to tell folks up-front that they only have 2 hours at their table, you need to deliver their drinks in a timely fashion. And, even more, if the "deal" is 2 hours, then you shouldn't start pushing them out at 1 hour 20 minutes, when you literally just delivered their second round of drinks. And if you are going to be that rude, you shouldn't include an 18% tip in the bill for a small party (of three people). All-in-all, the view was great, and the food was pretty good, but the attitude pretty much spoiled the whole thing. I won't be back.

Fun Getaway

By WILLIAM A |

We went to Spire 73 just for a little fun in the sun and enjoy some drinks this Sunday. We had mucho Mimosas, and some damn good Burgers, sat around and just watched people and their dogs for most of the evening. Yes You can bring your pet to this bar, bring a jacket as its cool in the evening and its outside. Great views of LA for miles while you drink. The chairs look really cool and there is imitation grass for the pets most likely. Should you get hungry Le Boucherie is on 71 and Dekkadance & Soros is on 69 all of which are excellent. I highly recommend Spire as a great place to just get away from everybody.

Endless views!

By UnrepentantFoodie |

Spire 73 is a large rooftop bar on the 73rd story of the Intercontinental Hotel--that's 1100 feet in the air. The views in every direction on a clear Los Angeles night like the one we enjoyed were incredible. Fire pits, overhead heaters and blankets are all around for those inclined, by constitution or dress, to get chilly at night, but I was there without a jacket in November and was comfortable without assistance. The cocktail list looked good but we went for white wine instead and were very impressed to have a choice between excellent French producers like Dauvissat and Lucien Crochet by the glass, in addition to several good domestic labels. Prices are high but not as insane as they could be in such a novel location. A bar menu offers food, though we were sipping after dinner elsewhere so can't comment on the food. A DJ plays music--mostly hip-hop, catering to a younger crowd. Service was excellent.

Sunset at 73 stories

By R. Rippy |

As impressive of an outdoor rooftop bar as you will find anywhere. 73 floors up with views all the way to the ocean. Awesome sunset happy hour spot. If you are visiting LA this place is a must for drinks and views.

Unhappy guests

By RoseyG90 |

We visited spire 73 to watch the sunset over a drink. When we arrived we were greeted by security who spoke to us in demeaning manner telling us half of the rooftop was booked out for an event but we were welcome to sit at the bar we agreed by this and then were stung with a us $10 entry fee. We were left to walk around and find a spot on our own with all the seat saying reserved but never were taken up I’m assuming must be for minimum we were never even given the option. We couldn’t even get ourselves a nice spot to view the sunset we had extremely poor service with a waiter who treated us like second class citizens as we were not dolled up like everyone else there. It took about 20 minutes for someone to serve us and once we had finished our beverage we were not offered anything else. We kindly asked for a photograph and the waiter seemed very annoyed by this and put no effort into taking one all. Security were walking around being intimidating making the place feel uneasy. Rude staff expensive menu not worth it seek elsewhere for sunset for sure .

Great view

By Gerhard K |

A lot of bad things have been written, which we cannot confirm. The time was still moderate at 6:30 p.m., but we didn't have to pay an entrance fee or anything like that as "external guests". The view is stunning, the service at the bar is friendly and quick. ... and yes, a bar like this naturally has its price. (As is often the case, a tip is also included in the bill.)

Wow

By junoself |

This place is out of this world!! It’s a must see and it’s free between 4-8pm although slightly confused why you would have to pay to go up there as it’s a bar? It’s well worth a look though !

Average stuff

By Akshaya S |

This has been my second visit to this place. Apart from the views, there is nothing spectacular at this place specially the food is not upto mark.

on top of the world!

By Goolii |

amazing drinks and amazing views. not too expensive but still a bit higher than average. totally worth it though

ridiculous cover charge

By smr |

Spire 73 previously charged a cover charge beginning at 8 p.m. – which was a bit early . Now, however, they charge at least $20 just to walk in at all times, including when they open at 4 p.m. – really?? A $20 cover at 4 p.m.?? Good luck with that

Great View but little pricey.

By Joyce P |

We came here to grab a drink and it was a great choice. We were staying at intercontinental hotel and it was connected to the hotel. We could look down on the city and the view was great!

Great spot for drinks with a great view of the city

By Stephen Grieves |

Went to a private party here and it made for awesome ambience and views while chatting with peers in the industry. If you like good views, this is definitely a place you should stop at!

Skip it as you can get the views elsewhere w out the attitude

By MooshLA |

Eh no thanks. Beautiful location. Terrible front door staff who think it’s ok to take an advanced reservation and place them right by the door - far away from any view which is the only point of dining here. It’s certainly not for the food or very highly priced cocktails. I’ll never be back. They now require a $60 PER PERSON minimum with only 90-120 mins allowed. Buh bye. Do yourself a favor and go to a real place that actually cares about their diners like WP24 or Waldorf Astoria BH.

Discriminatory Service

By Peter F |

Absolutely disgraceful. In this day and age to be discriminated against on the basis of gender should simply not happen. But Spire 73 are dragging discrimination back to the 80’s. We were advised by a hostess in the lobby, that the views from Spire 73 were spectacular, and we should head up for a drink. It was 93, so a lovely day. So we thought why not. One quick drink. We got up to the lift on the 70th floor - noted the dress code was neat casual, but considering it was 4:00 pm and they had only just opened, thought that we’d get away with wearing flip flops. On the final ride in the lift (last three floors to 73), we noted that a woman had also entered the lift wearing flip flops. So we exited the lift behind the lady wearing the exact style of flip flops I was wearing. She was welcomed and allowed to proceed. I however was told that I wouldn’t be allowed to enter due to my footwear. When I point out that I was wearing the exact same style of flip flops as the lady in front me, the attendant acknowledged that there were the same and then told me that women were allowed to wear them, men were not. I said - ‘surely you are not discriminating against me based on gender’ to which the person controlling entry stated I suppose we are, but I didn’t write the policy. What a disgrace. Change your policy. Stop discriminating. At least have the hostess down stairs do some screening to stop wasting peoples time.

A TURLY HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE...!

By Brandon K |

Had a horrible experience witnessing the restaurant manager assaulting another guest at the table next to us. Not only did the manager continue to escalate the problem, but also made our entire party feel uncomfortable that we left early. Not only did it ruined my mothers 60th birthday, but also our Christmas dinner. A TURLY HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE...!

Poor service, overpriced and cleanless

By Guillaume_ca_43 |

I requested a cocktail and i was advised that there was no mint. Cocktail being priced at 17 dollars each, i do expect to have all the ingredients in my cocktail. My brother ordered a cognac but there was not enough to make 2 glasses, the barman said he gave us an better cognac due to the lack of the first one but we don't know it as he did not poured it in front of us... As the bar is recent i expected a very beautiful design,I thought it is tasteless. the orange colors of the bar and the green seats made of fake grass looks awful. The huge fountain in the middle of the bar looks old. overall it is poor designed. I went there because i wanted to enjoy the view. The window glass were dirty which make it hard to enjoy the view.

Great atmosphere

By PeterFelix |

The set up was really cool! The food and drinks were very tasty.. the heaters and fire place were warm when they were working. Take a light coat. Avoid Saturdays, the doorman is a jerk.

Beautiful (and expensive)

By Matt S |

This spot is incredibly beautiful, with fantastic views in all directions. There is a very large bar here with an overhang, but also ample seating open to the air. We were here after dinner for drinks, and were able to get a couch/table area. It was very comfortable; the area was beautiful, the vibe uplifting. But, as to be expected, the drink prices are insanely expensive. Be ready for that; but, also be ready to enjoy the views!

Great views

By Susanlynn53 |

Windy, crowded and a bit cold. This would have been a great place if we could have found a seat. We went at 5:30 and it was packed and there were no seats. We decided to go to lobby bar for a drink as it was so crowded. Never did have anyone come to take our drink order.

Great views to relish in frustration

By BeachesLoveMe11 |

As hotel guests we visited this place everyday. Extremely busy at nights and hard to get a drink unless of course you agree to the $75 per person minimum and get a table. Really upsetting if you just want to have pre dinner cocktails and an app before going out in DTLA. Also, don't try to take a glass of wine to your room because they won't let you. Ridiculous! So when the hotel's lobby bar closes early your only choice is the mini bar in the room with no price list....unless you want to listen to blaring house music on the roof. So tired of the hidden costs and abnormal rules in this hotel. Couldn't attest to the food because my wife and I weren't allowed to order food unless we agreed to a $150 min but the drinks we had were pretty good and the bartenders were good too just understaffed.

What LA has been missing!

By Caroline L |

We walked into the lobby of the Korean Air building to see the ground level and the nice young gentleman welcoming visitors suggested we go up to see the view. So we did. We were so glad we took his advice because there are beautiful views from every spot in this 73rd floor open air rooftop bar. There is no dress code or age requirement so expect a variety of people including a few children. The cocktails are priced in the $16-$17 range with the beers between $7-$8. They do offer small appetizers that range from $18-$23. I tried the Seoul Margarita and it was made well and definitely had a punch. The table side s’mores looked like a lot of fun but we did not try any of the small plates. While we had our drinks, very nice lounge music played that just went with the vibe of the place. Very modern, sleek, and unique. The service was a little slow but it was Saturday night so it kind of seemed normal for a busy place. My only complaint about Spire 73 would have to be the cage like seats that run along the outer edge of the bar. They just aren’t comfortable and only one person fits in the cage. I think the space could have been better used with small bench like seats for two...but that’s just my opinion. Other than that, the place is awesome. We’ll be back very soon.

The view!

By C S |

Wow! Such an awesome view! We were here for a private party and the view was amazing. I think it is tough to get a table in a regular basis.

Oh what a view

By iriegirl2018 |

Awesome 360 views of the city. Great spots for photos and a thrilling slide. A must visit in downtown LA. Walking distance from most hotels in DTLA.

Addicted

By Doglovers |

This tallest building in CA has phemonal views of Los Angeles. I say it's a must visit. Cocktails are pricey. $19 for a craft cocktail. $9 for a beer for a Sounder budget. It can get chilly being so high in the sky during cooler months. They provide blankets and there's firepirs to warm up. There's a excellent LA people watching here too . They charge $25 after 8pm so we arrive earlier. You can reserve a table for that special occasion but you'll to spend $$$. I believe the minimum is $100. The night lights of LA are sexy. Great date spot for sure. But You'll find all types of groups and mingling singles. Many dress to impress. Lots of pretty people here. Go . You won't regret the highest rooftop bar in CA. They say they're the highest in the Western Hemisphere. For visitors you'll understand why this metropolis can't be seen in a 3 day visit.

Beautiful view of downtown LA

By Sima Parveen |

I choose this place for the atmosphere, drinks, and view of LA skyline at night and believe me it did not disappoint! Views of DTLA were magnificent! The drinks were on the expensive side but definitely worth it.

Exceedingly Underwhelmed

By jamesalanlong |

Disappointed would be an understatement. First, the service was terrible. It was clear that our server knew that his tip was included no matter what. It took a long time for him to take our drink order, and then once we had our drinks he did not circle back to us for over 30mins even though he passed by our table several times. I took a walk to see if I could find him and he was at draped on the bar checking his phone. The food and drink were okay, but nothing special. Basically you are paying for the view, which was totally obstructed by the filthy windows.

You should arrive 45 minutes before the movie.

By ענת צ |

It's imperative to get to this 4D show. Very impressive. In the robot entrance that can ask them any questions and they answer "humanly." So you have to get at least 45 minutes before the movie starts.

Amazing Rooftop Bar

By Sun_Holi |

We visited this rooftop bar on our first night in LA. If you go after a certain time (can't remember what time) you have to pay to get in, but we were before that time. We got a table at the edge so could watch the sunset over LA while enjoying a glass of wine. Would recommend here for a drink.

One of the best

By SNJ1 |

This is one of the best views that I have seen. Get there before sunset and you will not he disappointed. The drinks are pricy, but the view makes up for the few extra dollars. Good music and superb service. Absolutely love this place. It was one of the highlights of my trip!!!

Classy

By What We Found Travelling |

The views of LA from Spire 73 are fantastic. The service from all the staff was just as you’d expect from a classy hotel like the Intercontinental. We booked online on Friday afternoon for later that night & had no issues. We started with a couple of Sundown Spritz cocktails which were strong but easy to drink. We also ordered a 750ml bottle of Acqua Panna which was $12 USD plus plus! Both our meals the Citron Salmon & Ribbed Cap Steak were perfectly cooked. The atmosphere was nice & relaxed, however, it was breezy & cold. We had to go & get our jackets & use the restaurant’s blankets to keep warm. They definitely need more heating around the tables. Pricing seemed reasonable until they added in the 18% auto gratuity & then another 9.75% tax on top of the bill & gratuity. We wish America would display actual final pricing & not this smoke & mirror pricing with added charges. We just don’t like paying tax on a gratuity charge or paying gratuity on a tax charge.

Lovely view

By WalkingInLA |

Came with friends and enjoyed the view again. Drinks are expensive, but if you are celebrating, it's fun. We were celebrating birthdays. Cosmo, wine and delicious sweet Asti prosecco hit the spot! When we arrived there was no table service, so order and pay at the bar. Love the slinky music. Beautiful blue fountain near the bathrooms. Thank you for the water gugs at each side of the bar. We'll return again...

Definitely worth going

By Avtar-H |

Came here for evening drinks for my birthday. Views are amazing to watch the sunset and to see views of LA. Drinks are a bit pricey, but what do you expect being 73 floors up.

Once was enough

By Nevest61 |

Like other reviewers we found the entry staff obnoxious, we were guests in the hotel and showed our room key as asked but then she demanded a credit card and ID (which was my husband’s drivers license). She then walked us to our booked table and when we asked for our cards back she said no we hold them ... what! We charged to our room and we are hotel guests, the hotel has all our details! It was nice to see our server who was very nice and helpful with the menu, advising us what not to order. We ordered the vegetable stir fry ( broccoli and cauliflower do not make a stir fry) and a burger which was okay. Unfortunately the music was so loud you couldn’t have a conversation and it was Sunday night so more mellow music would have been appropriate. We ate and left. We weren’t impressed by this restaurant and you get the same views in the lobby lounge and it’s much more relaxed.

73 is my lucky number

By Everett D |

I've been here, never actually had food or anything but I've been here and the view was disgusting because I was looking at LA.

Amazing Views

By adalbert3 |

If you are downtown LA, you need to come up 73 flights to this bar on top of the Intercontinental Hotel. The views are gorgeous, the modern décor (cool chairs, heaters, artificial turf) and the throw blankets for cooler evenings are all part of the experience. It was later, so we did not order any food--just late night cocktails. I would have given it an Excellent instead of a Very Good just for the views alone, but the service was slower than preferred. Regardless, you really should do it.

Skip the appetizers. Go straight for the entrees.

By Sightsee33455932577 |

Don't get the honey garlic shrimp. It's only five shrimps on top of a little bit of lettuce or something. Cost $32. With mandatory tip added and tax it's $41.35 total. It was average tasting shrimp. Save yourself some money and go straight for the entrees. I recommend the spire burger. My friend had it and he said that it was delicious. It cost the same as the honey garlic shrimp, but you get full. Other then food. The experience coming here is worth it! Great views and atmosphere. Staff are great. Would come here again with friends and family.

You will love it.

By mjesf |

If you stay in the Intercontinental, you must stop here for a drink as you don't have to pay the cover. The vista from 73 floors up is amazing and the vibe is great.

This was a great spot for sun-downers. I don't know if it was the particular time of the year, but there was a lot of smog, so the views were not all too great. The glass windows could also do with a bit more cleaning.

Spire 73 - L.A. highest outdoor bar and restaurant

By fredyt3 |

Things are opening up so my wife and I decided to give Spire 73 a shot. We had a very positive experience. We were seated alongside the south border wall so our view was exceptional. Our server was patient and professional and I am sure that added to everything. We made reservations online and had a seating so we could enjoy the sunset and of course how the city lights up at night. Since we live close-by instead of driving we opted for the Metro (35 cents or 70 cents roundtrip) and after a quick walk up to the street level and you are right across the street from the Intercontinental. A couple of other pointers: As we entered the property a staff person greeted us. Of course we told him where we were going and mentioned we had reservations. He directed us inside and there was another staff to coordinate the elevator to the 71st Floor. There we were greeted by another staff who verified our reservation and after taking our temperature he coordinated us getting in the elevator to 73rd Floor. As we arrived more staff greeted and (a reservation helps because they are able to personalize their greeting) and they reviewed a couple of guidelines in particularly making sure they communicated your bill must be in excess of $60 per person. Next, we were directed to our table. Our initial focus in going was simply to have a glass of wine and enjoy an appetizer. That changed due to being informed of the minimum so I opted for the Spire Burger - wagyu beef ($24) and my wife had the Sea Bass ($35) and of course we settle for a cocktail each ($18). What allowed us to make the minimum cut was ordering desert ($12) - LOL. We are not cheap nor big drinkers. Overall the venue is great and the views are exceptional and it has a vibrant atmosphere. We will be returning. It's a great spot for something special or just to mingle with friends.

Great roof top bar

By Jason S |

This roof top bar offers some great views of the downtown Los Angeles area. The drinks are a little expensive with spirits costing $15 and beers around the $8-10 mark, but I guess the views make up for it. The day we went up there (Friday night), they started charging a $25pp cover charge from 8pm, so it’s best to get up there before that. Overall, it’s a great spot to drink and get some good views of LA, but might get expensive if your going to have a big night out.

Rooftop views Downtown

By Rob A |

Good rooftop bar. Classy and modern. Views of the whole of LA from Downtown. Great for a few drinks with friends on a night out.

Drinks with a Breathtaking View

By Dean R |

On a clear day, this chic establishment provides a fantastic birds eye (or possibly helicopter eye) view of Los Angeles. That the staff is friendly, and the drinks no more aggressively priced than other big city hotels (i.e. expensive--but not more than usual), is a real plus to draw you here. It is open air, so bring a jacket or sweater on all but the hottest evenings, and try to pick a clear night to really enjoy the view.

Friday afternoon drinks and bites for a special occasion!

By Monica A |

4 of us went Friday afternoon for drinks and bites. Shared a bottle of Menz Pinot Noir ( delish!) with some appetizers 9 the cauliflower donuts are great) The view, the location and atmosphere are worth the $100+ for a few hours of special occasion fun. Chelsea was our cheery waitress and Florence the manager saved the day for us. Thank you ladies!

Amazing views of downtown but overpriced

By mhar20 |

The views are gorgeous but can’t say the same about the food or the service. The views are absolutely amazing. It was very cold and windy on our visit. The heat lamps and fire pits were on but it was still very chilly. There is a high minimum at $60 per person which I think is a bit too much for the service we were provided. You can reach this minimum very quickly with their drink prices. The drinks were alright nothing spectacular. The food was average nothing special about. It’s definitely overpriced which isn’t justified for their minimum per person. The views are great but the drinks and food are mediocre.

A great way to spend a Friday afternoon

By John T |

Stopped in at this rooftop bar for some drinks before our dinner reservation at La Boucherie - 2 floors down. The place is just very cool -- it was a great idea to have an open air bar on one of the highest building in LA.

Thrilling

By permia |

Whisked in no time to the top, we were delighted to get a window table. This despite not having a reservation, but helped by early arrival. Not staying in the hotel meant paying a cover charge, but it was worth it. We ordered cocktails plus a couple of tasty menu choices. All very enjoyable. Another highlight of course was seeing the vast city by night, with lights everywhere. We were lucky with the clarity of the night sky giving near perfect conditions for gazing at the wonderland spectacle all around us.

Amazing view, a few tips to share : )

By Jen’s Thoughts |

It’s located on the 73rd floor of the newly built Intercontinental in downtown LA, formerly Wilshire Grand. It’s a rooftop bar with the view of not only cental LA but all the way towards Hollywood, Griffith Park, and at evening hours you can see an amazing view of sunset around Santa Monica. Few tips: Entry fee is $10 per person, but waived for hotel guests and those who book bottle service. Bottle service minimum varies throughout the week so check ahead if you plan to dine in. They only validate for one hour, and I think the hotel valet costs around $12/ 2 hours. If you plan to stay around I would recommend taking an uber (which we did) We ordered a few bite menu’s, and my favorite was the fish tacos. Our waiter Ruben was awesome, very attentive, and gave us suggestions on drinks and food. Will definitely visit again, and hope to see the familiar faces again as well! : )

Date Night Ruined/Worst Customer Service Follow Through

By Maria D |

My husband and I had planned to check out Spire73 for a classy, romantic date night. Reservations were set. Until we arrived and were informed that reserved table signs were removed and nothing was available. We were told to grab a table if we see one, or if the staff got us one, they'd come find us, grab a drink for the mean time..We were a bit confused, but agree, walk in and hang a left to see a bar with at least 50 people clamoring for a drink. All tables were packed, standing room was insane. I was expecting something on par with 71 Above in the US Bank tower, but instead, it was like a clothed version of a party at the Standard. It was quite the turn off. Instead of waiting an eternity for a drink at the bar, we did a loop and left. I later reached out via phone, email & instagram to talk to someone about this experience. After a long wait, Instagram replied and offered to help. I provided them my email and received an email from the manager at Spire 73 apologizing and offering a couple of drinks on them. Within this email, was a chain of emails discussing my level of clientele, lucky for me it seemed I made the cut! I replied back, thanking them for their kind offer, gave a date and time that I would be happy to let them make good on it, also, advising I'm flexible and can work out a different time if necessary and asking for a confirmation. To date, I have never heard back from this establishment. I've read many reviews about lack of service there. Wait times on drinks and food. I'll continue to take my business elsewhere.

Nice and pretty!

By Gabriel Rodríguez |

Excellent place! Beautiful view of L.A. and a very nice place to dine, although the staff's attention needs to be improved.

Rain Out

By John C |

We were supposed to go to Spire 73 for 2022 NYE, but Eventbrite, the organizer for the Intercontinental Hotel cancelled due to rain. No problem, we booked at Dekkadance in the same hotel. Unfortunately, Eventbrite refused to issue a refund for an event they canceled, and the Intercontinental F&B manager told me that we were out of luck. I should have looked on the BBB website. Eventbrite has an F grade. The Intercontinental (IHG Group) should be ashamed!

Amazing service in an incredible setting

By Katie M |

This restaurant is so high up you are basically at eye level with planes coming in an landing at the distant LAX. So fun to look around and see the sights!

Poor wine list, height made me dizzy

By MoAnderson |

Remarkably thin wine list. Service so-so. The height of the building made me dizzy. I left without even finishing my wine.

Great Experience

By BenToTaph |

I visited the rooftop bar, but ended up getting drinks and spending most of my time with a friend in the lobby bar due to the cold. We visited in December. The lobby bar is on the 72nd floor and is just as stunning as the rooftop. You can easily spend an hour to two hours just looking at the view, and people watching. Clientele was diverse and sophisticated. All ages and styles. The drinks were strong. Initially I found the flavoring a little harsh. But great aftertaste and unique flavor palette. Prices were very reasonable for LA and for the venue.

First time visit

By Kristina K |

Must come here for the view and a couple of drinks. Definitely not a place to grab a bite to eat. DJ picks up the pace after 8p. I highly do not recommend making reservations, if you plan on coming here around 5-6p. Rooftop bar will require each person to spend $75 with a reservation. We pretty much ordered a few bottles of wine and many appetizers to meet that amount.

Spire 73 at IC

By RoseIsATrip |

Spire 73 was a new experience. I haven't visited a rooftop restaurant bar area like this one. Great for late night drinks or snacks. A few tips... 1. It opens at 6pm, but you can visit between 4-6pm (with kids). After, it's adults only. 2. Be sure to have closed-toe shoes. 3. It gets windy so dress in layers. Bring a sweater/jacket as it can get chilly. 4. If you're staying at the hotel, make sure you let your waiter know. They reserve tables especially for hotel guests. 5. Bring your camera. Great photo opportunities so you'll want to capture a few moments. Overall, great experience. A must visit at least once while in LA.

1 star food and service/5 star location full view of LA

By AMG L |

First time at this restaurant and will definitely not go back there for the food nor the service ! Very very low quality food and service ! Will not recommend anyone who likes good food and service that they pay for ! For the $ u pay for a dinner there are way more better places in LA. Cheesecake Factory has 100% better food and service then this high point restaurant!

Good option during covid and can't wait until after!

By MooshLA |

Great view and ambiance - well worth a visit especially if you are entertaining friends from out of town. For easy readability here... PROS: *Truly stunning and expansive view. *Excellent service and attention by staff on all levels from security to hosts to servers. All very attentive and accommodating. *Normally this locations does not serve food however for covid they extended the menu options. Good choices for all tastes and food restrictions. *Comfortable seating near heaters which were OK once turned on at dusk. *Easy valet access in/out. CONS: *Required to spend $60 which is fairly easy to do with drinks alone. *Seating time during covid is restricted so keep that in mind - you won't be able to linger past 90-120 minutes from your reservation.. *Parking is expensive at $22 and thats after validation. Ridiculous if you're dining there and already spending some decent coinage. *It can get quite chilly up on the 73rd floor even if warm on street level so dress accordingly and thank me later. Leave plenty of time prior to your reservation as +15 min just to get up to 73.

The best view of LA

By MaruBV |

Marvelous place for spending an evening in LA. Wonderful view and splendid service. The staff is so friendly. Fun ambiance. A must visit.

Nice spot for a drink

By bl0ndie72 |

Spire 73 is in a stunning location on the 73rd floor of Intercontinental Downtown hotel. There is a good selection of drinks on offer & there is lots of seating - all of which have outdoor heaters next to them - as this is an outdoor drinking experience. I imagine it is lovely in the summer or when the weather is warm, but at the end of December, when we visited, it was absolutely freezing!!!

open air at floor 73

By eric h |

nice bar. cover fee USD 25 although hotel guest get free entrance. good music paired with nice views of the city.

THE PLACE TO GO FOR A VIEW.

By TravellingLady |

Visited before sunset and we managed to find a table in a pod at the edge by the glass. It was very busy and had a good buzz. Lovely atmosphere, great music and spectacular views of LA. Lots of fire pits to keep off the chill. We enjoyed a cocktail while we watched the sun go down. Definitely a memorable evening and one of the many highlights of out trip to LA. The drinks were pricey, but that's what we expected, so no surprises there. One slight criticism (as others have mentioned) would be that the glass needs a clean as the dirt makes it difficult to get a good photo. Would certainly recommend though.

Loud music, entry fee, inadequate seating

By waiake1 |

There seems to be a lot of hope about this place, but for me I couldn't see the reason. i did not have to pay the entry fee as I was at the hotel, but I cannot see why one would. The music is just too loud to talk, which may be the point. The place is always too crowded to get a good seat. the view is mostly of smog so I was unimpressed.

Amazing lounge on fl.73

By AybarsYagiz |

Cold. It is cold. So drink more and more to keep warm. Not a huge variety of cocktails but more than enough to spend a night.

Great views. Very good service.

By CobaltConnection |

Our first time here. Our group was staying at the Intercontinental and reservations were a breeze. Incredible views. Very good food. Professional management and service.

Incredible views!

By tra_lbug |

The elevators in this place are terrible and odd to have hotel check in on the 70th floor. The rooftop was closed due to weather when we were there but the bar left of the lobby still had amazing views. Quick drink service, slow food service. Good place for drinks.

Spire 73

By T8640UMwilliama |

My friend and I had a great time at Spire. We had drinks and a spectacular view of LA. The drinks were plenty and they were good too. Good time and a great place to chill.

Outdoor lounge in the sky

By R. Rippy |

This is a great open lounge on top of the Wilshire Grand building in the Intercontinental Hotel; evidently the highest outdoor lounge in the Western Hemisphere. Spectacular views of Los Angeles.

The top view is the view from the top!

By Socalicouple |

The pictures attached to these reviews make the case, but they don't do it justice. The view from Spire 73 is just incredible. We arrived around 10pm, DJ going, and a mixed age crowd continually filtering through the place. We grabbed some blankets and sidled up to a table along the windows and under a heater and took in the sights and sounds. As more people learn about Spire 73 this is going to be a fixture on the LA bar scene. On a Friday night the place had a crowd but wasn't crowded. The service was very good, attentive and energetic. The music was a bit loud, but my group was in their 50's, and a bit above the average demographic in the room :-) Some of the tables are too funky for comfort, but you aren't there for comfort, it is the views that win. For some reason the LAPD copter did a couple of flyovers late in the evening and at one point shined the spotlight on the bar, which led to the hilarious scene of a hundred people standing holding their arms up as if to say "busted". It was like a movie scene. Find a reason to ride up the 73 floors on a clear afternoon or evening and enjoy the view yourself. It doesn't disappoint.

Enjoyable

By GregoryT3037 |

I am not a city person so this was a very nice place to visit. The views of LA with the lights on were spectacular. To me it was worth the cover charge.

Great dining experience with a breathtaking view

By Yongki |

The Spire is located on the 73th floor of the Intercontinental Hotel in downtown LA. The dining experience there is not cheap, but being on the 73th floor, the view and ambience are breathtaking. The food is great and the service is excellent. But what makes it worth is the view of LA from high up there.

Anniversary Celebration

By T&T |

My wife & I stayed at the InterContinental in LA for our 15th Wedding Anniversary. The night of our anniversary we went to Spire 73 for dinner. We scheduled our reservation to be able to sit and watch the sunset and enjoy the lights and fires at Spire 73. It was amazing. While there my wife fell in love with one of their signature drinks - French Kiss. They even had a decent selection of beers. After enjoying their buffalo wings we ended up sharing the Filet & brussels sprouts. When the meal first came out, the Filet was under-cooked. Our waiter Scott (also bartender) took it back to correct it, leaving the brussels sprouts. When they brought out a whole new Filet, Scott also brought out a fresh plate of brussels sprouts too. Everything was delicious. Scott ended up comping a couple round of drinks to make up for the under-cook Filet. Since I'm an Ambassador member with the hotel, they only said we only needed to order one item off the menu. If not we would've had to order at least $60 per person which wouldn't be a big deal if you're eating dinner. My only negative is I've seen pics from other reviews showing a "Happy Anniversary" dessert. It would've been nice to have received one.

Stunning views, good food and drinks, iffy crowd

By danielmmustafa |

The service is a bit slow on the rooftop, but relax and enjoy the views. Even on a hot summer day it gets cold so bring a sweater! The crowd was an odd mix - lots of visitors and maybe more of a "place to see and be seen" rather than a "happening" spot. Still, food was great, drinks were strong and good, music wasn't too loud.

Odd Design, Poor Service

By 1fastcat |

Stopped by for some drinks and to catch the view. Having been to some of the world's top Sky bars, this one does not disappoint with the views, but the service was super slow and atrocious follow up after getting beverages. Also the design is disjointed with too many concepts and the bizarre fake grass benches.

Impressive! We had a great experience at Spire 71! The Los Angeles view it s absolutely gorgeous ! The service was great and the food incredibly delicious! Thank you for having us !

No what it used to be

By Carla A |

I love this place!!! But unfortunately, it’s not what it used to be. I went yesterday with my husband to celebrate our anniversary and when we got there, our table was not clean! We’re in COVID times, tables should be clean immediately after the guests leave. When I asked the server to please clean our table he took our order first and then said he was going to send someone. We ordered 2 desserts, a bottle of champagne and a glass of wine! They brought the desserts 15 min after, and still no one came to clean and sanitize the table until we got the desserts. 25 min went by and we still didn’t have our drinks! 1 glass of wine and a bottle of champagne, I guess it’s harder to pour out wine than to customize the desserts... 🤷🏼‍♀️ Then I went to the bathroom and it was a huge mess!!! Paper towels everywhere, it was dirty and definitely not up to what you would expect for a place like this. I mean, you don’t pay little to come here. So the least I would expect is the place to be clean! The windows are not clean at all so the views are blurry! This might just be something about them being on a budget because of COVID so it’s something I’m not bothered by too much! On the positive side, the food is still really good! Either way, this is just my honest review. I hope they can go back to what it was before! They used to have a quick service, everything was clean and it was a very classy place to come to. I really hope they go back to what they were and it was just a bad day! I’ll update my review is this happens!

Had a drink with friends to check out the view

By David S |

This was a while ago, maybe a couple of years. It was quite a view! We happen to pick a pretty clear day. I was returning to Los Angeles this time for my business, so I thought I would check it out again. They had changed their hours, so I couldn't fit it into my plans. I wouldn't have anyway. They have a $20 cover charge after 5pm. Guess what? That's their new opening time! If you stay at the Intercontinental Hotel for +$600, you can go as much as you want. How nice. Oh, and you better go with the deluxe package, which also covers the $30 parking fee.

Awesome views of LA in downtown Los Angeles-worth the visit!

By phoenixmike11 |

Great views of LA at highest rooftop bar in USA- best time to go is right before sunset so you see LA at day, at sunset and at night- Closed Monday and open Tuesday to Sunday. No cover except for Fri/Sat nights and drinks are expensive (not a surprise-you are paying for the views). Near the 7st/Metro Center subway station so you do need a car to get there. I would return here if I go back to visit Los Angeles again.

Must go

By Sima Parveen |

Love this place. Food is ok but drinks are good and the ambience of this place is outstanding. I am scared of height but view of downtown LA on 73rd floor of building and enjoying drink is so much fun. Hard to explain. Must do this !!!

Great views

By Chris S |

Great place to grab a drink and take in the views. Worth checking out if in LA. Even the urinal in the men’s restroom had a view

Do not book bar seating!!

By Anna N |

I booked a bar seating for a date night and when I arrived they didn't have any seat available for us! Apparently the bar is "first come first serve" and reservations mean nothing. We waited for 20 min but no seats got vacant, and we weren't allowed to have a table seating instead. We ended up having to leave because I wasn't going to stand when we had made reservations!! Note that NOWHERE on the website or reservation site do they mention that choosing bar seating would imply that there might not be seats for us. We booked well in advance and during booking we could choose either (bar or table - they had available seating for both), but went for bar seating because it seemed more appropriate for a cocktail date. Very disappointed! Do not recommend! The whole point of RESERVATION is that there would be seats waiting for us and not do the "first come first serve." Very unprofessional. PS the windows really need a cleaning up there too. The view was ruined by window grime...

Not for those with vertigo

By Skaerje |

Although I had to really muster the courage to go up to the 73rd (!) floor of the InterContinental (my ears popped the whole way), it was well worth it. The hotel lobby is on the 70th floor and then you take a glass elevator up three more flights. The view from Spire 73 is absolutely beautiful and the bar has intimate seating, as well as tables that accommodate larger groups. We went on a mid-May evening and needed to borrow some blankets. I would definitely recommend a jacket or sweater. The sparkling wine we had was amazing and the service was great. Wonderful place for drinks with friends or a romantic evening. Will definitely return.

AMAZING VIEWS & DRINKS

By CaribDiegan |

Went to Spire 73 for pre dinner drinks and it did not disappoint. The views where amazing. The drinks, although very pricey, were excellent. If you're on a budget stick to beer. ;) We got there around 6:30 pm, we were able to easily get a table with the view. Get there before 8 pm to avoid the $25 cover charge. The waitress was very attentive and helpful. The DJ was great as well. This a good spot for a date night drinks.

Amazing

Beautiful bar nice views! ReAsonable prices! Located 73 floor of intercontinential downtown hotel! Excellent service

Best night view

By mia |

It was a very nice bar, with very beautiful views, open air. We were able to eat and had a lot of drinks on the menu. If you are ordering alcohol only, they will guide you to the counter.

Wildly impressive view of the sunset

By Cal92673 |

This is an awesome rooftop bar. 73 stories up! The view was absolutely amazing. It was Saturday, and Cinco de Mayo and we didn't have to wait in long lines to get our drinks. Nice Staffing job! It was a very fun and original experience!

A Flight of Rose, Chocolate Covered Strawberries, and the view!

By Kyra Minichan |

I can't think of a more perfect ending to a wonderful day, then one spent at Spire 73! The staff was so attentive in spite of the crowd. The drinks were fabulous, and the view was out of this world. At one point the LAPD helicopter flew over top and we felt like we were in a movie, which was an added surprise. The fire, the blankets, and the music, were the cherry on top. A memory that will last a life time.

Rude Hostess

By Anne C |

Staying at Hotel Intercon, had drinks at Dekkadence, drinks at the No Dive Bar, drinks at Lobby Lounge, dinner at Le Boucherie (all in one day) and when I asked for a table at the rooftop bar, the hostess (Oct 14, 10pm) said she cannot take us without reservation. Even after showing the $400++ dinner receipt at Le Bou and mentioning I’m staying in the hotel. It’s very disappointing.

Strong winds.

By 成昇成田 |

I used it when I was staying at Interconci. I thought it was a meal while enjoying the evening, but it was sunny at the end of February, but the wine glass I ordered in the strong wind was about to collapse, but the staff were responsive and satisfied with the food. I would like to come on a fine day next time

As i was staying in the intercontinental so the entry was free. Great place to hang out with friends.

Great views, expensive drinks, poor service

By A-Nerd |

The Spire popped up as a recommendation on Tripadvisor and it was close. We got there shortly after opening but there was still a queue for entry and, whilst we were in the queue, they started saying entry would be limited to prevent over crowding. Despite this the queue went down quickly so within 5mins we were at the top, where it was not busy at all. Most of the space is open air and it was surprisingly breezy up there, a nice respite in the scorching heat but worth bearing in mind. We got seated easily and enjoyed the spectacular views across LA. The bar prices are a little higher than normal but expected for that type of venue (certainly not the most expensive drinks we had). Bottles of wine seemed the most reasonable option so we shared a fizz. Service is the let down here. I had to ask three times for our check and it still didn’t arrive until we got up and started to leave. Great for the views but expect a short wait, premium on drinks and mediocre service.

Huge Disappointment

By Leeladm |

We were a party of 6 for dinner to celebrate my birthday on a Saturday night. We were guests at the hotel so from the 58th floor took the elevator up to the lobby, then a spiral staircase up a floor to an elevator where we were greeted by the first hostess. The elevator with access to the restaurant was not in service. This was also the case pre-COVID so if you are unable to climb a spiral flight of stairs not sure what your options are. Once up the flight of stairs there was a short line to check into the elevator to go up to the restaurant, That is where we saw the sign of the $60 minimum per person. This should have been disclosed when the reservation was made, it was not. Not an issue for us as we spent way more than that but the party in front of us decided they did not want to spend the $60 pp and left. Once our party was screened we were allowed on the elevator that took us to the roof where we were greeted by another hostess who repeated everything the person one floor down told us. We were seated immediately, the whole process took about 20 minutes. Once seated, it took 30 minutes for our waiter to acknowledge us and take our drink order. For a place that puts a limit on how long you can sit at the table they really should be more on top of this. Drinks took another 20 minutes to arrive, we then placed our dinner order. Food came relatively quick, but the waiter did not bring our food so the gentleman trying to pass the food out had no idea what plate was whose. It was a game of guess the plate. I ordered the steak medium-well and while the flavor was there, my steak was room temperature, not even warm. My fries were warmer than my steak. After dinner we ordered dessert, we wanted a cup of coffee and were told they "ran out" of coffee. Not sure how that happens... They also ran out of Coke Zero. One couple in our party valeted, be prepared to wait in a long line for your car. This seems to be a common problem. If you can ride-share, do so! Probably quicker and cheaper. For the amount of money we spent, not worth it in my opinion.

20/10

Very VERY Special staff, caring, kind and just very very special. I loved being at Spire 73, but it is the staff and their kindness which has left an amazing impression and memory with me.

Concerned

By Jeff J |

Over-rated/Over-priced. The experience was good; however, the price for that experience was borderline abuse and creed. My wife and I are comfortably in the 6 digits and live in Beverly Hills, but we recognize when we are being taken advantage of. Folks, so many businesses are screwing us for outsized profit margins. They expect us to use our gas to patronize their businesses, FORCE us to spend $80 per person when we get there. Most daring, abusive and disrespectful is that they also want us to subsidize THEIR payroll in the form of a “gratuity” so that they can pocket even more profits. This FORCED abuse comes in form of an automatic 18% “gratuity”. People please wake up. Society has given us all sorts of reasons to normalize and expect tipping, but tipping only perpetuates a culture that robs the worker of a living wage. The tip should be extra and voluntary. Workers would make more under this scenario. Continuing to tip actually hurts the worker. If we continue to help the owner pay that living wage, will he ever be incentivized to raise his compensation to the worker? These TACTICS of giving us reasons why we should help the owner with his payroll is plain old simple dressed up GREED. And be careful, restaurants are beginning to condition us to pay for worker’s healthcare. Another area of owner responsibility that is being passed to the very people who keep the owner’s lights on. The conditioning will slowly make the customer feel responsible for the healthcare of someone you didn’t hire. Look at your receipts carefully. The consumer should go on “strike” and refuse to tip until these wages go up and make tipping truly voluntary. Yes, the pain would be felt temporarily, but look at all the people you would have helped after the owner is forced into some human decency. “No pain, No gain. By the way, my going away gift was another $33 for parking. As consumers, we should demand more.

Amazing Views and Excellent Service

By Wolfie17 |

We decided to stop here and check out what all of the fuss was. We weren't disappointed at all. Though the drinks are on the high end, the service and the views more than made up for them. We tried the Japanese old fashioned and a traditional old fashioned - both were excellent and made us want to find the Japanese whisky. We loved that despite it being chilly they had blankets for the guests. One note - it is confusing as their lobby is on the 70th floor and some guests were having trouble finding it. Be patient as it is worth it.
