If you're in Pacific Beach area and craving for pizza, stop by Square Pizza Co. It is a short 2 minutes walk from Crushed restaurant. Grab a slice of pizza or a whole pie. The place is modern. The staffs there are very friendly. There are seating outside as well as inside. The price is reasonable by the slice. I got the pepperoni slice square pizza. The dough are very fluffy and the pizza sauce with herbs is flavorful. I would recommended folks to this place.

Josh, at the counter, was a great help AND being the Pizza Connessuire that I AM, I have to say that this Detroit Pizza is incredibly tasty with the Italian Flour bread crust, and crispy, cheesy edges, with just the right amount of flavorful sauce and spice. Great for after bars close or ANYTIME! YUM! Check ‘em out! To live for! 😁🍕👍

We had square pizza delivered to our volleyball game on the San Diego Bay while I was visiting in June. Everyone tells me that they don’t have good pizza on the West Coast but after eating this pizza, I have to disagree. We had multiple pizzas delivered and the sausage, mushroom, onion pizza was very good. It had a crispy crust which I love and just a touch of sweetness to their pizza sauce, not at all bland like some places. Since I think the crust is one of the best parts and everyone else seemed to avoid the corners with two crusts, I was the lucky one to have gotten a corner piece...loved it! The toppings were all good including the taste of their sausage. One of the pizzas that everyone else seem to like was the Ricotta cheese/Basil/garlic pizza. That one went quick...can’t wait to go here again...

They use fresh ingredients and have some solid options of crust (Detroit style, my personal favorite). I was majorly impressed with this restaurant.

Whenever I am in San Diego, I make it a purpose to go here. They make their own dough in house and in front of you to see. The ingredients are fresh. They have thin and thick slices. I got the 4 think plain cheese slices and added pepperoni on 2 and artichokes and salami on the other 2 slices. Must try! 35 cents to add each topping. Price are reasonable. Staffs are really nice and the food came out quick. Highly recommended.

Love the sauce and topping options on the Detroit-style pizza. Great for a quick slice or two. Enjoyed the bacon specialty slice - quite delicious. Even at the midnight hour, everything looked fresh and delicious.

Pizza. I love pizza. I will give any pizza shop a try in my quest for THE SUPERIOR pizza. I mostly get bleh or worse pizza. So, my hopes are always high, but my expectations are low. I recently made a mid-day trip with my wife to Square Pizza, a tiny mom and pop shop in Pacific Beach on Cass street. Wanted to try their Detroit pizza. My expectations were, of course, low. My wife and I both ordered Detroit style pepperoni pizza (the most traditional Detroit style). OMG OMG! OMG!! We both thought it the best pizza we have ever had. We will go back soon. What amazing pizza. Had three different types of crust and all were excellent. Ingredients super high quality and balanced. You owe it to yourself to try this pie!

If you have been in the small area of the Mass/NH coastal boarder, you May be familiar with this cornerstone of Seabrook and Salisbury pizza. The owner, a former employee, took the basic square pizza icon and replicated it in the San Diego coastal region. Not only did he nail the traditional style, but he expanded it with his own offering of thick crust and deep dish square offerings. The traditional all have names of the local area towns of Mass. I am a fan of the traditional thin crust square with the sweet tomato sauce and that extra slice of pepperoni. Nailed it. We also tried some of the new offerings and they were great as well. If you are from the Merrimack Valley area and are in the San Diego area, stop in and have a slice of home.

Square Pizza Co. does 3 very different styles of pizza: Detroit, Sicilian and a thin Boston beach pizza. The only thing these styles have in common is they come in squares. At my web site, fundiegofamily.com, we are looking for the best pizza in San Diego. Square's Detroit style came in first place for the best thick crust pizza. The Sicilian style pizza came in 6th place. This is a small place, but it is only 3 blocks from the beach. Great for a beach picnic!

My friends and I loved the pizza, the thin crust were our favorite. The red sauce is delicious and the pizza is flavorful. They also have Pao de queijo e guaraná (Brazilian cheese bread and a Brazilian soda).

Most people from the East Coast have very high standards for Pizza.....Square Pizza exceeds expectations. They had a selection of Pizza that mad it difficult to choose. The pie was delicious, serving size plentiful. Everything is home made. The staff was friendly and the price was reasonable. It will be a must do when I visit San Diego.

The 10 x14 Detroit pizzas have a thicker crust, wonderful tomato sauce plus great cheese and toppings. We had pepperoni with mushrooms and loved it. The 8 slice pie is more than two people can eat. Take out service was great too. We were told 20 minutes and it was exactly that. Pizza was nice and hot. It reminded me of Green Mill deep dish (that's a good thing). Street parking.

A friend told us about Square Pizza in Pacific Beach. We couldn't wait to try it. I am so glad we did. There are lots of choices for different crusts and toppings and the owners are extremely helpful and courteous. The pizza came out hot and yummy! The sauce is perfect. We could taste the individual ingredients in the sauce and the toppings on the pizza were just enough, not overwhelming the flavor of the crust. There are lots of pizza places in every city. THIS ONE IS WORTH THE TRIP! We will absolutely pop in again when we are back in San Diego.

On my 2nd visit and first in 2019 I had the Andover and Hampton slices named after New England cities. They were both perfectly crispy, crunchy with tangy sauce and tasty toppings including peppers, pepperonis, sausages and ricotta cheese. The Owner is a trained chef and makes the pizza to the highest authentic, Italian standards. The shop has great decor and atmosphere for the real, square pizza deal.

The thin crust pizza here is just delicious. The ingredients used are fresh and the chef has a way with pizza crust. Also they have some wonderful cannoli if you’ve saved rim for dessert.

We had a Detroit style Pontiac 2.0, and the kids had a thin crust Merrimac. The Detroit style crust was amazing, crunchy cheese surrounding the edges and a delicious sauce with just the right amount of tang. Hidden gem, 6 stars if I could. You have to try their Detroit style!

Crispy, crunchy, tangy and utterly delicious... Mr. particularly has a soft spot in his heart for any pizza anywhere anytime of day but this is no ordinary pizza. Imagine an airy square soft in the middle sorta Neapolitan style slice with a nice firm toasty crunchy crust and then there’s that crazy crispy lacy edge of baked cheese surrounding the whole thing. The crisped up edge deserves a trophy. The light fresh sauce was perfect. The amount of and quality of the toppings were excellent. Square Pizza sure has this multi layered flavor and texture thing nailed. Service is friendly and fast and the prices are fair.

I’ve relocated from Detroit to Vegas and it was the highlight of my San Diego visit! The pizza was excellent and they serve Faygo pop. The only thing that would have improved the experience is Bettermade Chips lol! I’m looking forward to returning and will let my friends in Vegas know about it!

Just had my first square, I'll be back for more! I think I'kk ask for a bit more bacon and just a tad more cooked.
