Seating

Good excellent, service excellent, we choose St Martin’s for its romantic setting and carefully plan our celebrations accordingly. We made our reservation, let them know it was our anniversary (2/14) And when we arrived were promptly seated next to a quarreling couple. And to make our evening worse a family of 4 with 2 under the age of 6 were seated behind us. The 4 yr old wailed and I mean loudly each time she didn’t get her way or someone didn’t give her enough attention. As we had just given our entree order we felt it would be rude to ask to be moved also thinking the parents would reprimand their unruly children so we sat. We couldn’t even converse as the girl child was so loud. We will return of course and specifically request a table not near yelling children. This is a beautiful place but if diners bring children offer them tables away from couples especially when you are aware they are celebrating an occasion

Nice quite bistro

We celebrated a birthday party here and it was a good choice. It started a bit slow with the dining room being quite chilly but they quickly raise the temp when requested. Our waiter Pedro was a it of a low talker so hearing him was problematic. Even when asked he was very hard to hear. We had a few salads and apps. The pate was wonderful and they served a very big portion so the value was exceptional. We had a variety of entrees including the veal scallopine, beef bourguignon, pork medallions, and duck. The special sea bass was very nicely prepared. We would repeat this experience.

Romantic with Incredible food!

Accolades for one of the most romantic restaurants in Dallas with equally magnificent food. This is where you take your significant other to impress. The exterior is deceiving. The atmosphere is wonderful, especially if the live pianist is there. The back room is quiet, but as you enter to your left there are romantic booths. The food equals any restaurant in Dallas. Duck, steak, fish, all with incredible sauces. The champagne brie soup is a must. Deserts are brilliant! Service is outstanding! We travel to Dallas to eat here at least once a year.

wonderful dining experience

This was our first "date night" Christmas present and we could not have enjoyed ourselves more. Service was outstanding. We each had a cocktail (delicious) with our appetizer of pate and a glass of wine with dinner. My husband had the duck and I had the Prime Filet with peppercorns--both were delicious. No dessert since we still have a ton of sugar left over from the holidays. The only issue we had was how dim the lighting was (yes, we are seniors). As a bonus, I accidentally left one of my cell phones on the table and they had it safely stored for me to pick up. Very friendly staff. Looking forward to returning soon.

St. Martins is back

My wife and I have been going to St. Martins for 27 years, so we were quite worried when they decided to move to the new location. The old place had such a great vibe. Well they nailed it at the new location. It is like the old place, only better. It has the same great romantic vibe, but with a little more space. We started with drinks at the bar, which is "L'" shaped and larger than the old bar. We had martinis while listening to piano music. For appetizers, my wife had the Champagne Brie Soup and I had the Smoked Salmon, which was a smoked filet with all the accompaniments. Both very good. For dinner, we had the Sea Scallops and the Rack of Lamb - both were outstanding. Dessert was Chocolate Terrine and some kind of ice cream ball - delicious. St. Martins is back, and we will be back there soon too.

Limited fixed menu to be expected on this particular date but all of the options were excellent though I could have passed on the mashed potatoes.

Quiet Dining Gem in Dallas

Wonderful food, quiet and romantic atmosphere, and very pleasurable piano music by an accomplished pianist. We have never been disappointed in multiple trips. In my mind the best pepper steak in Dallas. The staff is attentive and well trained. Overall, extremely enjoyable. Reservations required for sure on the weekends because St. Martin's has quite a following, many of whom would like me not to tell you about this Gem.

A dreamy, romantic dining experience

St. Martin's, hidden in a small M-streets strip of businesses, is a treasure. My sweetie and I enjoyed wine with Sonny, the bartender, who will enthusiastically share his interest in astrology, the Chinese zodiac, and film, then moved to lovely white-tablecloth seating with romantic low lighting. My beef bourguignon was perhaps the best I have ever had. The service is impeccable, with knowledgeable servers who use French pronunciation and replace your napkin for you. The entire environment, with dark wood, a piano, bookcases, lent to the ambiance. I look forward to a subsequent visit.

perfect date night

I don't come to Dallas often but I heard of this place a few years ago when it showed up on US News Top 10 Most Romantic Restaurants in America, really excited that Texas made the list! I bookmarked it then and finally had the opportunity to come by. It so happened that the neighborhood was having a block party and the St. Patrick's parade was happening so all of the streets leading to the restaurant were closed off. I called to let them know we'd be passed our 15 minute grace period for the reservation and they were very understanding. We showed up after parking quite a distance away, they kept our reservation and even surprised us by escorting us to the much desired alcove table at the back, said it was for the difficulties we had in making it! Their wine menu is extensive and there are bottles priced at both ends of the spectrum so take a look! We went for the Acacia Pinot noir, ordered the seafood crepe for starters, really delicious! Couldn't experience St. Martin's without their signature champagne Brie soup! On the food can't say much that hasn't been said already but if you're a dessert person please try the Almond ball! Perfect to finish the night.
