We ate here our first night in Philly. It took some time getting used to all the traffic so after driving around and getting the feel of the town we came back to the hotel. This was in the hotel and the food was really good and so was the service.

Had a light lunch before heading to a matinee with our granddaughter on a Saturday - food was good and the wait staff was extremely friendly but waited a long time for the food to actually come out from the kitchen. This appeared to be a one-off situation that day due to being understaffed and having an over abundance of guests.

There for a conference so the convenience was good. I wish I could have gotten a friendlier welcome. The menu was limited but sufficient. The service was fast and the portion size was great.

We had a drunk homeless guy come in and sit down with us to tell his sob story to us, and ask for money. When we said no, he asked us to buy him a drink instead. When we said the last thing he needed was another drink, he got angry and went to the next table over. After about 6 tables, I finally notified the staff, who were oblivious to this happening, and they escorted him out. Drinks are expensive. There are better spots literally a block away.

Mathew is an awesome guy. He was ready to leave his shift when the new bartender came on and got slammed due to Friday night Happy Hour and a wedding reception that was waiting for the pictures to finish. He stay and helped, was attentive and happy . He is an awesome employee...

This is so convenient if staying at the Doubletree. I found the service friendly, but drinks were much more expensive than bars within just a few minutes walk away. It's a great place to gather if part of a group staying at the hotel due to its lobby location.

The food was awful. Didn't eat it at all. Chowder and pasta had the same awful carrot and peas... like they were out of a tin. Complained and got a 50% refund which was fine as we drank the beer!

I liked the bar however it was a bit expensive... the blood orange martini is fantastic! The service was great but my 3 star is only about the dollar amounts of the drinks.

Stopped in a couple times during our stay at the hotel. Bartenders and waitstaff were really good. Didn't have any food but everything I saw brought out looked good.

I ordered the braised short rib with buttermilk mash potatoes. It was excellent!! It was very tender and flavorful. My son had the roasted turkey sandwich. He said it was delicious. We also shared a brownie sundae. If staying at the Doubletree Central City in Philadelphia, you won't go wrong by eating at this spot!!!

Perfect for a nitecap before heading up to the room for the night. A bit busy at midnite and service a bit slow but Understandable with the crowd at that hour.

On Tuesday we had dinner here because it is very close to the Kimmel Center. It is located in the Doubletree Hotel in downtown Philadelphia. The five of us were seated in a corner. The first problem was only two sets of silverware for five diners. The second is a rather limited menu. I had the crab cake entree which came with an okay salad. The crab cakes were too bland for me. Two people had fish and chips. The chips were waffle cut fries and also bland. Two others had soup and a flatbread. They thought the soup was good. I had a taste of the flatbread which I also thought was bland. The dessert menu carried one dessert which my wife wanted. Unfortunately the waiter informed us they have not had that dessert in eight months. We were there during happy hour and a glass of wine was only $5, which was the best part of the meal.

The Standing O is Doubletree's bar/restaurant, and I can't recommend them for anything. 3 of us went there for a drink. The drink menu is fine, but the draft list is pretty lackluster. I had an old-fashioned, which was watered down to nothing. I couldn't taste the Jim Beam at all. While I did not eat at Standing O, I feel like that was a wise decision. The kitchen area is pretty small, and taking a peek behind the counter suggests most of their food is pre-made. Our waiter was inattentive at best. The room wasn't crowded at all, and most of the staff seemed to hang around near the kitchen. When our bill arrived, we were informed the credit card machine was not working. Everything about our experience suggests this is not a place that cares about their guests. If you are staying at this hotel (which looks lovely), I would recommend trying some of the surrounding restaurants and/or bars. Monk's Cafe, Good Dog Bar, and Perch Pub are all within 2 blocks of here.

We had dinner one evening while staying at the Doubletree Hotel. We started with tomato soup and chili. Both were not edible. The chili was greasy. The soup did not taste like tomato - and was more water than base and was lukewarm. The entrees were equally awful. We would not recommend dinner at this hotel.

On the first floor of the Doubletree, this is a good place to meet for drinks before or after a concert or play at one of the theaters on South Broad. Uaual selection of drinks, wine and beer with decent prices. Don't expect much in the way of food as the menu is short, the service slow and the dishes only average in taste. Still it is worth a stop with a small group out for evening.

Food was good, nothing special. We ate here on the first night arriving to the hotel. Had a hamburger and fries.

Did not take too long to get greeted by the waiter, but glass of wine took 20 minutes and salmon another 15 minutes on top of that. Asked for salmon to be cooked medium. Came out overcooked and dry as a bone. Waiter never bothered to stop by and check if I was satisfied with my meal. Just came to clear the plate and to give me my check. Will dine elsewhere next time.

We stayed for one at the hotel that operates this Bar & Bistro for one night while visiting Philadelphia on an east coast family road trip. That night happened to be our 15th wedding anniversary, so we decided to enjoy a late night drink in the bar. We were unexpectedly, but pleasantly, surprised by the atmosphere, service and quality of the food & drinks! It made for a nice, memorable anniversary. The staff were super accommodating and very professional--answered a ton of our questions, offered great tourist attraction advice (our waiter even sent a 2nd one to our table to provide more answers to our questions about local sites than he was able to answer), and provided excellent service. The bar manager was particularly attentive and when he found out it was our anniversary, he provided us with a drink on the house. We didn't intend to order food, but after seeing how good it looked, we decided to have a late night dinner, too. So glad we did--the food was excellent! Loved our experience here!

don't want to eat here again. my chicken tenders were a little bit hard and tasteless. I didn't care for the teriyaki sauce that came with them where it tasted a little bit bitter. my friends Philadelphia cheese steak sandwich was also tasteless. the service is excellent and the place seems clean.

While a small meal it was fresh and both the presentation and taste were great . Shrimp cocktail and the Wedge. The service was a littl,e slow but acceptable and pleasant enough.

After dinner we stopped here to grab some drinks. Service was good but drinks were a bit pricey. Great place to hang out and people watch.

I visited after work with colleagues 2days in a row and must say staff was very warm and welcoming. The first day I had Jarell and the second Tesfay, both gentlemen very friendly and attentive. The manager Carlos was super pleasant as he came around to ask how our visit was going not to mention the great Summer drink the bartender Candice whipped up for us. My friends and I spread the word of great service and hospitality & will definitely be back very soon for more after work cocktails and to partake in happy hour.

I stopped into The Standing O with 3 of my children and my Son-in-Law. I must admit that we choose the cafe more because it is located directly across from the Academy of Music and not so much because of the reviews; although the majority of reviews were positive. Well, we made a fantastic choice! We arrived at about 6 pm and the Matre D' seated us after a brief wait and our server, Kip, who was up beat, friendly, and on the ball, arrived just after we were seated. Kip started with the usual "How are you doing tonight" and within moments had asked if we were heading to a show after dinner, which we were. After a brief conversation about the musical which we were seeing he took our drink orders and the food orders for my two minor children. The drinks came out quickly and were perfect, whoever the bartender was they certainly know their craft. Kip then took the remaining food orders and within a few minutes, the pizza and chicken tenders for the two youngest had made it to the table. The remaining orders took a bit longer, however, Kip did come to the table twice, apologising for the delay and ensured us that we would make the 8 pm show. The food arrived and it was worth the wait, everyone was pleased. I had ordered the Shrimp with Grits which was topped with a fried egg. I had asked for the egg over easy and it was spot on, the shrimp was well seasoned and tender and grits were creamed to perfection. Looking at my watch I started to worry when I realised that it was after 7 pm but Kip must have read my mind because within a minute Kip was back at our table. First, he asked if we wanted dessert and when we told him, 'no', adding we had to get going, despite my 11 yr old son still eating his fries, Kip offered to bring us the check so we could leave as soon we were ready; Fantastic suggestion! My Son-in-Law picked up the tab, my youngest finished eating, everyone made one last run to the bathroom and we made it across the Broad Street by 7:45, very impressive indeed.

located in the DoubleTree Hilton Center City, We had drinks and dinner a couple nights here. Brian was friendly and helpful. Good pretzels, cold beer, cheesesteak was good as well, never got too busy. We liked it !

My theater group of five usually comes here for lunch before the theater. We always advise the server that we have to be at the theater by two. We were at the restaurant by 1:05, which is usually enough time, and we always ask for advice on what we order for timing. At 1:45 we had no food. Four meals came out shortly after that and at least another 5 minutes for the fifth. Three of the meals were the Black and Bleu salad which features "slow roasted top blade". I had suggested this to my friends because it was so delicious the last time. It was not delicious this time. The meat was marginal at best on mine, but for the other two the meat was cold congealed slices of fat. With the clock ticking we asked for the meat as advertised. The server brought less than one replaced serving which was severely marbled with cold fat. We asked for the second, which came out as bad as the original problem and we asked for the manager. The manager told us he had checked with the chef who told them thats the way the meat was supposed to be and that he would take care of it. He would not let me complete a sentence to say I've ordered it BEFORE. I asked him what that meant (he would take care of it) and he repeated that he would take care of it. I asked if that meant they didnt have to pay because by now there was no way we would be in our seats by two. We handed him the two unpaid checks (the other three already paid). Yet again he repeated he would take care of it instead of telling us what that meant exactly. As we moved away from the table the two checks lay crumpled onthe floor. The manager actually littered in his own restaurant! The server was as attentive as a server could be who knew that her table was not getting their food, knowing that the food for some reason was slower and less quality than usual, and that the manager was a jerk. If Hilton has a school for manager training, this man slept through the part on customer service. He apparently also thinks Doubletree doesn't care about quality. What I think happened was the meat used for this salad was waste management from a wedding the night before. That said, the food did not leave as bad a taste in our mouths as the manager did.

We stopped for a drink and a salad. Food was good - service was slow! I had a salad and my husband had tacos where were excellent

in Philadelphia and staying at the Doubletree we can got a quick bite to eat twice the Standing O bar and bistro. My quesadillas were excellent and I can recommend those. My husband had a dish it was called the tacos but it was more than tacos and it also was excellent. We were very pleased each time we ate here. The wait staff is very accommodating.

Arrived at hotel around 8pm and just wanted to grab a quick meal after being awake for 36 hours. I was greater warmly and sat quickly, my order was taken quickly. The mac and cheese portion didn't look big but was deceptive- Pasta well cooked and sauce just tight - I had mine with Bacon bits

stopped in for drinks and the bar was fairly empty..young man working the bar had to climb up and turn the channel manually inside an overhead cabinet...he looked to us to tell him when he got to the nba...which he never did...we settled on a boxing match until a young lady took over (sorry i don't remember your name "C" but you were nice!)..she eventually found basketball on the tvs around the room...the Stella pump was jammed so i couldn't order that so my partner and i had a couple drafts..even if i was hungry somehow i couldn't see myself ordering food there...the place was clean..just didn't look like the food was be appealing to me...very spacious atmosphere though..and as time went by many, many people came in and filled the bar and surrounding seating area...it got quite loud but not offensive...C was behind the bar handling the busy crowd and still being friendly...we left and went someplace else to eat...

Went to the Academy of Music then went across the street for a drink. Shared some appetizers with a bottle of wine. Had quesadilla, popcorn shrimp, wings and a chicken flatbread. Service was good. Ambience good. Prices so so.

Great for quick bite fantastic drink specials awesome bartender and attentive wait staff small bites

If the hotel is busy, the service at the bar is very slow. If the hotel is slow the bar service is excellent.

Service great, presentation very nice, timely delivery, good value. Food was delicious, staff went out of their way to meet our needs.

I found the food very good. The French onion soup is worth the trip. The prices are typical for a center city establishment.

Service was good, Drinks were good, food was good. Have a good bar menu, located in lobby of Doubletree Hotel so if one staying at the hotel, it is a excellent place to kick back. Have more than several choices of beer and mixed drinks and wines.

A lively bar serving a variety of beers and great cocktails. The Bar Food Menu is good - I can recommend the Mac and Cheese! All the staff were very professional, a case of 'service with a smile'.

We were here with another couple for a light lunch before a performance at the Kimmel Center. Lucky we had plenty of time to kill, because the service was at best slow... at worst inattentive. The bar area was loud and crowded, but the dining side was uncrowded and somewhat less noisy. The menu has some nice choices and reasonable prices for a downtown hotel bar/bistro. I did hear some folks at the bar area get a little sticker shock at the drink prices. But... we were there to eat. Our friends split a philly cheese steak and fries. Gino's and Pat's have nothing to worry about. I went for a veggie burger, which had a pre-fab bean burger, but a very nice bun. My wife had the winner... turkey chili that was loaded with cumin and had a nice tomato base gravy. Drinks were iced tea. 50 minutes for a leisurely lunch isn't a killer, but for what was ordered... it seemed like an eternity.

Very nice Hotel restaurant, a good menu, many beer and tons of alchools. service is fast and staff was very carefull. Sport on TV was also very appreciated.

Walked town for some. Place to eat and ended up back at our hotel the doubletree. My boyfriend suggested standing o bistro based on how the food looked coming out with the server. And the food was very good. Tad expensive tho ...

It was convenient (necessary?) for us to eat here 3 times. Lunch and 2 dinners. Service was very good. Helpful and friendly. Prices are high, but this is center city Philadelphia. The Philly Cheesesteak at lunch was an embarrassment to the city. The frozen ones in grocery stores are better. Ours was tasteless, little cheese, tough bread. A poor example of the genre. Circumstances had us return and try again. The chopped salad was very good. Great quesadilla. (Ironic. The quesadilla was better than the cheesesteak!) Soup and sandwich are ok. Happy hour wines were also hit and miss. Pinot grigio was terrible. Very bland. House merlot was much better. Noisy, but it's a hotel bar ... If we'd been able to go elsewhere, we would have.

Food was okay - when they say small plates, they really mean it. Overpriced for what was served. Staff is really slow. Found a hair in the leftover sandwich - gross!

Stopped with my girlfriend and her family before seeing a show. The bar was crowded as there was conventionaires everywhere. We finally got a table and told them that we had theater tickets and needed to be served not immediately but not later. Our waiter said, "Good luck with that!" and walked away. We did get served quickly and the food was very good and the drinks, though expensive, weren't out of the ordinary.

We were looking for a convenient and quick place to have a dinner on a Friday night before a show at the Academy. We've been to Standing O in the past for drinks and decided to give it a try for dinner. Can't say it was the best food or service but both were passable and you sure can't beat the location if you are going to see a show. My husband had a cheese steak and he rated it "not bad". I had the soup and 1/2 sandwich which were also not bad. All in all, it served the purpose of a very convenient location when you are on the way to a show and only have an hour or so for dinner and a drink. We would probably go back again if we needed a quick place to eat before a show but would not recommend otherwise.

Before going to a show we decided to stop and grab something quick to eat. We wish we had more time to have an entrée because the food was delicious and the staff was extremely nice. Specifically, the manager on duty during happy hour made us feel welcomed from the moment we walked through the door. I will come back here especially before or after a show on the Avenue of the Arts.

We had dinner with our family of four in the Standing O on our last night before a very early departure the next morning. The food was adequate, the drinks were wet, and we were grateful not to have to go out. I wouldn't make a point of eating here, but if circumstances warrant it, you will be satisfied with the experience.

This restaurant is in the lobby of the Double Tree Hotel. Rather modern in nature, clean. The menu however is very limited but what they offer is tasty. We did go here twice, once for soup and a sandwich, but the only soup offering is roasted cauliflower or Asian noodle style (which was very good) with chicken. We had wings and had to have a cheesesteak. Didn't have "whiz" but was good. Service was good. Not many servers so they are a little spread out. But would eat here again if needed. :)

Its ok, i had a turkey sandwich for lunch, and fish and chips for dinner. Tonight, i have to go somewhere else, or go stir crazy. The food is not appetizing and it feels like a last choice. However, the drinks are good, which upgrades the food slightly!!

No idea how to make a bloody mary, or didn't have the ingredients. Tomato juice, vodka and lemon. Wanted a paper napkin, no paper napkins, got a cloth napkin that was incapable of picking up a tsp of water. Have no idea about the food.

Get out of the hotel and enjoy Philly. This place has TV's, serves food and drinks and is in the hotel. But it isn't too great.

I was quite surprised to find some really good food here. It looks like a regular hotel bar with a few tables but the quality of the food is outstanding. A very nice presentation for a great blackened Salmon on rice with Japanese broth.

We went here because we didn't want to leave the hotel. The service started out slow. However, the waiter tried to make up for that as best as he could. The food was very tasty. Would try again if I stayed here.

From the host/hostess to the wait staff they did not seem to be happy to be at work today. Good food but be sure you allow lots of time for your order, even when 1/4 full of customers.

Worth it if you are already staying there. But, there are so many nicer bar/resturants in walking distance, it's hard to recommend Standing O.

This restaurant is very handy to visit. I enjoyed my chicken but others in our party were not very happy with their meals. I think it depends upon what you order.

Just hopped in on a quirk and was surprised at the menu... Yum food and nice wait staff for a reasonable price during happy hour!

We were headed to a show at the Kimmel Center and walked by Standing O Bar & Bistro. We needed a quick bite, and this place did the trick. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak and it was quite large with plenty of meat. The service was quick and the drinks were good. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a quick bite before a show in the area.

This bar is very convenient for one last drink and then the elevator up to your room. The food always looks good too, although I have never eaten there.

The staff was very friendly. The food was hot and very good. This place is family friendly. We tried the wings, pizza, and chicken quesadilla. All was amazing and would recommend to everyone.

Wandered in for drinks as nd appetizers before theater and weren't disappointed! Lots of small plates and apps on menu and happy hour and drink specials as well. The group was satisfied. Service was prompt and we did not feel rushed. Would definitely stop in again!

Ate here in a group of 18. We were the only people eating. Service was excruciatingly slow. Probably due to the fact the kitchen is upstairs, one level up from the actual restaurant. Food was good, half way between average and very good which is not one of the choices below. The hotel serves a great breakfast upstairs on the mezzanine during the week and also has a nice brunch. There are many other restaurants in all price ranges within easy walking distance with better/more varied menus and service.

The food we had was not very good, the waiters are scattered very thin as we had to wait for every thing.

Drinks were skimpy and expensive. $17 for a double house vodka! Not one one good chardonnay😁 the lobby location is nice as is the space.

Came here late in the night because we were staying at the Hilton Doubletree and didn't feel like walking around for late night munchies. They offer appetizers, salads, sandwiches/burgers and a few entree like dishes to choose from. Had a Caesar salad with chicken which was decent, friends had burger and wings which also were good. Throw in 3 beers and it was a $50 bill. I'm sure there were other places we could have gone, but it was in the hotel, convenient and it satisfied what we needed.
Friendly but slow service, Decent food
I stayed in the Doubletree hotel and ended up eating in this restaurant. Drinks were good and reasonably priced. I took a chance on the Turkey Chili and it was actually pretty good. Service was slow and they were not busy. Over an hour for 2 drinks and a bowl of chili in the bar. I wasn't in a rush so it was not a problem but if you want a quick bite to eat I wouldn't suggest it.
