Happy hour!

By leoncito1 |

My server Sirena was prompt and helpful ordering, I'm kind of picky and the drinks and appetizers were perfect and quickly appeared. I'm not usually a fan of chain restaurant sushi but the roll was delicious!

Great place!

Delicious food, great service and enjoyable atmosphere! Definitely will be back for more Blue Moon beer and exquisite prime rib!

Surprisingly good

By Michael V |

Stanford's is large and hardly chic or trendy. However it has a great bar, comfortable seating, good service and a reasonably varied mainstream American cuisine-based menu and good bar and wine list options. Have dined here a few times and while never mind-blowing, it is a dependable, tasty and good value experience toward the lower price range. A definite after dinner option when at the Thornton Creek Cinema.

Friendly service!

By kiri_angel |

Super friendly service!! Hostess and server were amazing! The food was good, but not the best. The atmosphere and service made up the difference in average, but still delicious food. My son was having a mini meltdown after a day of traveling. They brought him snacks before we even ordered. It definitely helped us get through dinner. We would definitely visit again!

Sunday all day happy hour

By daswifty |

A couple friends and I recently visited Stanfords and enjoyed their all-Sunday happy hour. They have a lot of smaller portions of some regular menu items available on their happy hour menu including chicken tenders, cod tacos, salads, and more. Plus typical drink specials. We found the regular menu chicken tenders better than happy hour as in the happy hour portion you get 2 tenders and fries vs. 4 tenders. And its only a $1 difference. But items like the cod tacos or mac n cheese are better with happy hour. Anyway, its nice to have it available all day... Enjoy.

Surprisingly Good Find

By TXMARTINS |

Located in the parking lot of the Northgate mall we stumbled upon this restaurant when we were very hungry and found a really good and broad menu, a family friendly place, and really good service. Tip: Save room for dessert, there are several good options! And start with the chicken tenders with different dipping sauces.

Amazing service and great food!

By gardenmomof2 |

This was the third place we tried to eat dinner and as they say, third times a charm! We were thankful that the first two places had such bad service we left and found this place because it was worth it! If we were local we would be back again.

better than expected lunch

By mwhamburger |

between the 3 of us we ordered a veggie burger w/fries and 2 of us the chicken curry soup (large bowl) with 1/2 turkey sandwich. Totall delicious - all of it. Our tab came to $45 and some change for the 3 of us but we felt that it was worth. Sizable portions and good taste always satisfy. Outdoor seating is available but will probably be somewhat noisy because of the nearby heavily traveled road. The restaurant is part of the Northgate shopping center - at the NW location. My only 'complaint' would be is that the restaurant is bit dark inside but the booth is very comfortable. Very extensive menu and it can get pricey. Be sure to look under the lunch options.

High end food at great prices

By Carole A |

Have only experienced lunches here - but I'm impressed with the variety and quality of the choices. Their wait staff is always friendly and prompt with their service. Parking can be an issue but the property is on the edge of a popular mall so it might take a little patience to find a spot, but you will find it worth the effort.

Always Excellent Always Great Service

By ebcnaz |

Stanford's is one of those places if you are meeting someone for a business lunch you don't have to worry about. They get'er done with great food and great service and make me look good in the mean time. Make reservations each time to insure greatness happens to you.

U of WA Graduation Celebration for my daughter

By 2020984 |

Sunday after graduation we pick a restaurant not too close to the U, Stanford fit the bill. we had a group of 10 last minute planning get together. They accommodated us and we had a great dinner. Service was not the best, but everyone loved their food. I had the halibut with rice and brussel sprouts, they were the best brussel sprouts I have ever had!

Better than expected

By Roary |

My family and I were at Northgate Mall at lunch time. We were in the food court and nothing really appealed to us, so I checked OpenTable and noticed Stanford's menu looked pretty good so we decided to walk over. Once we arrived, they acknowledged our reservation and sat us in a booth in the dining area. It was very quiet too, maybe only 20% full on a Saturday. We looked over the brunch and regular menu and got the following: - BBQ Chicken Quesadilla - OK. Good portion size, and I liked the basmati rice and avacado salsa. For the quesadilla, I was expecting something less "saucy". - Classic Eggs Benedict - Very good. Again, a good portion size. Eggs and hollandaise were well done, and the bacon gave extra flavor and texture. Country potatoes were the true highlight - cut quite thin they were almost like a thick potato chip. My son kept stealing them instead of eating his own fries. There was also a complimentary cinnamon bun that comes with brunch orders - it was average tasting, but a nice bonus. - Kids Grilled Cheese - Good. Pretty standard, but they noticed right away that the crust had been cut off. Good move by the restaurant as it's one of those things that kids notice and appreciate. - Kids Grilled Salmon - Good. It's as small portion size, but always nice when a restaurant has a healther option like this - Kids also get a complimentary starter plate of grapes and house bread with their meal. That house bread was incredible! Warm, crispy, with cheese... we wished there was more of it! Service was very standard - friendly and efficient. Overall, it was a nice surprise. I thought the food was much better than expected, and at a reasonable cost for lunch/brunch. I would certainly bring back my family if shopping at Northgate in the future. I would rate 3.5 stars.

Happy Hour is Great!

Went here for a business get together and had the happy hour specials! Great food and drinks for great prices!!

The Brussel Sprouts

By Tom S |

The first thing I noticed was stuff on the menu I don’t like or even hate; squash, relish, chutney.... So I was there with my son for his birthday. The waiter told us the soup and the special stuff on a smaller menu. Just like any nice restaurant would. With all the strange restaurant items on offered we even talked about and laughed. So I ordered what I thought was safe. Prime rib seasonal vegetables. I also had a nice dinner salad. So the food comes out and oh my God....Brussel Sprouts for vegetables? I about hurreld on the spot. I have PTSD over Brussel Sprouts! Allergic physical reaction please remove this plate now. The waiter is like try them they are good. I could have punched him in the face. What restaurant or waiter doesn’t tell you what the seasonal vegetables will be. He says sorry that’s all we have. My daughter had asparagus on her plate. Oh ya that’s all we have. I have never had tough prime rib and Brussel Sprouts served to me. I do not recommend this place! We all had a good laugh and ate the lousy food. The girls were polite and the birthday boy wasn’t paying. 240.00 for four people!!!! Just don’t do it!!!!

GREAT food, good value but one EPIC misstep!

By John F |

We visited on a Sunday and were quite surprised by how sparsely occupied by patrons the tables were. It was brunch time and after church so we were a little worried by the lack of fellow diners. Our fears were unwarranted. Upon entering we were seated immediately and put at a table both in the main dining area. Within moments, we realized that we were going to have to move as the light above our table was pulsing like that of a dance floor light. It was very unnerving but we just moved one table over and our server Jessica was very understanding and accommodated us immediately. While I was in the mood for breakfast still and ordered the Eggs Benedict, my wife was more up for lunch and went with the Fish and Chips. When the Benedict arrived the dish was quite unassuming in appearance but any misgivings I had about its quality vanished as soon as I took my first bite. The Sauce was the standard Hollandaise which was good but what stood out was the smokey flavor that was obviously from results of highly smoked slabs of ham on the muffins. As well, the breakfast patatoes were very light and cooked and seasoned perfectly. I very much enjoyed the dish and would order it again. Moreover, my wife very much enjoyed her fish and chips. The fish was thick and meaty and although battered with the dark brown coating that is often times too heavy, in this case it was not and the fish was very enjoyable. Of particular "delectableness" to me was the coleslaw that came with her meal. Knowing that I am a bit of a coleslaw snob she implored me to take a couple of bites. I am very glad I did as it was one of the better slaws I have had in a while. I am usually pretty good at piecing together what the ingredients are but this one was challenging. Now for the misstep. One of the reasons we stopped here was to get a Cesar Salad for our daughter who was in the hospital. She had been craving one and we figured that Standford's could come up with a decent Cesar Salad. Everything was going along just swimmingly until my daughter opened the box at the hospital and discovered there was NO SALAD DRESSING. This was very disappointing and I know that its only a matter of dressing in a 10 cent cup but to see ones hospital bed confined child cry and have her day ruined over something so simple was at best....heartbreaking. I do remember our server specifically mentioning to us that the dressing was in with the greens and the chicken in a separate container. The Chicken was indeed there but no dressing. Fortunately, the meal was not too overly priced and well within the worth for what we paid. If it were not for the salad catastrophe my review would have been one or maybe even two green meatballs higher and I would even say that I would visit again but the look on my baby girls face might just keep me away from the door for some time. See you on the trail and please try to remember to treat with dignity and respect, all whom with you come in contact John F

Decor Nicely Done

By love my cat |

I went to dinner at Stanford's because it was close to Northgate Mall. The decor is nicely done and it was quiet altho there was a large TV we could see from where we were seated it was not that distracting. My dinner of shrimp was average with the stir fried vegetables overdone and the broccoli was gray looking instead of bright green and there were only 5 medium to smallish shrimp and way too many onions. The only accompaniment was a tiny container of a sauce which was flavorless and a handful of grilled flatbread which was very dry and tastless. My friend had the rack of babyback ribs which she declared delicious. When presented with the bill we were surprised to see we were charged $20 over the price of our meal. We asked our waitress for an the explanation of the overcharge and she said she hit the wrong keys on the computer and apologized. So glad we checked our bill before signing.

Great time!

By James C |

We were late on making reservations for my sons UW graduation. We were able to get in a party of 7 on a Saturday evening and the entire team was very accommodating and welcoming! The food was excellent as was our server who was not obtrusive but read the table well and new when to approach.

Good but overpriced.

By SQCASTAWAYS |

Service was very attentive. Food was decent but I think it was a little high priced. Might go elsewhere next time.

Happy hour isn’t how it used to be

By Osweg0 |

Stopped by the bar for a bite to eat. It was happy hour and it has been a couple of years since having happy hour here. The prices have increased significantly but it was still ok. I ordered the stuffed mushrooms and the ahi tuna, they were both tasty but portion sizes were very small, particularly the ahi. Nice to see that they have Beck’s NA Beer!!

Good Food, Reasonable Price

By csd2011 |

I've eaten here twice now and really enjoyed my meals both times. The Pan Roasted Chicken and the Smoked Chicken Linguine are both very tasty and I'd order either one again. The staff are very friendly and attentive.

Business lunch

By fpbrown8 |

Service was very attentive and the grilled halibut was decent despite being covered in a cream sauce. I didn’t expect the cream sauce and forgot to ask. I’m usually suspect of sauces on grilled fish because you can’t taste the fish. However this sauce wasn’t overpowering. It was my first time visiting this restaurant. I will try this place again on another visit.

Nice Bar

By GardenerB |

After shopping at Northgate Mall we wanted an easy meal and a quiet drink away from the mall. The attractive bar at Stanfords worked for us. There is a nice dining room for full meals too. Stanfords is across the parking lot from the mall and away from the noise and fast food. The service was friendly, the drinks were good and the menu offered enough choices to satisfy us. Maybe nothing special, but very welcome place to rest and refresh after shopping.

Wasn’t our best meal there

By Krisinseattle |

Despite a friendly server and a timely order, our food was mediocre. My Halibut $29.95 was a bit rubbery like it was possibly defrosted in the microwave? The Cobb salad, although dinner size $20.95, was rather small in size. The surf and turf $35.95, was the redeeming portion of the meal. The prawns nicely done and 2 small pieces of filet mignon perfectly cooked. Our drinks were a bit pricey $24 for a Ketel One vodka & water and $9.50 for a glass of Sauvignon Blanc.

Eating Outside is Plus for This Restaurant

By BEC308 |

We liked the outdoor seating area at Stanford's. While being at Northgate Mall, the landscaping is just right for this outdoor location in such a busy area. The food is Ok and happy hour gives a better deal than the normal full price menu. Example is cheeseburger on happy hour is 6.95 while on full meal the burger is 14.95. I don't see much of a difference between the two. Wine at Happy Hour is a good deal of $5 for a generous amount.

A cozy choice with great variety!

By PanoramaPoint |

For a relaxing, but less formal setting, we like Stanford's Bar sitting in a comfortable booth during early Happy Hour, yet we usually order from the regular menu. This time we settled on the Kruse Burger, Cod & Chips and the Club Classic. All very good and Danielle served us well. The surprise was the LWgeSC on our bill: "a surcharge of 4.9%...to contribute directly to employee wages, but is NOT in lieu of server gratuity." This was a first, yet it won't keep us from returning for the good food and service in a pleasant atmosphere.

Stopped by for lunch

By Ronald S |

Had Prime Rib Sandwich with onions and horseradish with horseradish sauce and half house salad. I could not tell that horseradish was on the sandwich. A lot of fat on the Prime Rib and hard to tell it was Prime Rib. The salad was very good with a variety of items but supposed to be dressed with ranch dressing. There was au jus on plate which was mediocre, and a white sauce. Waiter Grant did not identify it it was salad dressing or horseradish so I did not know and put some on my salad. I could finish all and asked for a box. The one brought was too small and everything did not fit in the box. After I requested, Grant brought me a container for au jus but he did not see I was out of au jus so I requested more. He brought me more.

Choice of Inside or Outside for Happy Hour

By BEC308 |

My wife and I are Happy Hour people. We enjoy special deals and places. Stanford is a great possibility. Many places limit you to the Bar or Lounge. We, however, enjoy being outside. Well, Stanford gives that option. The outside is really nice even though a part of Northgate Mall. It is well protected from the visual and noise aspects of the mall. We enjoyed $4 wine. The bruschetta was very large and great ($5) tasting. I had the burger which as very nice. It was about $12. We will visit again for Happy Hour.

Great local sit down restaurant

By lordboots |

Have eaten here a couple times this month. The Ahi is good. The pizzas are Neapolitan style, but the dough is a bit salty. The mushroom appetizer is really nice. Happy Hour bar menu is pretty good. I wouldn't say it's a great place, but it definitely has a good variety and the food is pretty good. It's a chain restaurant and hits the mark for a mid-range food place.

Distinctly average

By teejaybeeBristolUK |

Booked this ages ago as it was my birthday meal. Arrived early but tables still had to be pushed together. They weren’t busy. The waiter was overly gushing yet no mention at any stage that it was my birthday although when I booked it was brought up. Straightaway we were informed that there was no Prime Rib (7.30 on a Saturday night?) Which was a major disappointment. Drinks order was taken but took ages despite them not being early. Food was ok but nothing spectacular, very ordinary. Our main courses arrived whilst we still had our starters in front of us so that wasn’t great. Overall nothing special. Wouldn’t go back. Not the best birthday meal.

Small group for holiday dinner

By JamerB007 |

Group of 4 quickly seated for dinner right before Christmas. Great appetizers and cold beers. Most had the prime rib and a Cabernet. Nicely done.

Steam table quality food with a side of petty politics

By The Well-read Naturalist |

Years ago, Stanford's was a reliable business lunch brand. The food was relatively good and always consistent. Unfortunately, the past few years have seen it steadily decline, to the point where its food is consistently poor in quality. Case in point: halibut fish and chips reaching the table less than five minutes after the order was placed (hint: that's not sufficient time to deep fry and drain battered halibut, ergo, pre-made). However what made this location worse than those I've recently patronized in other cities is the 4.9% "Living Wage Surcharge" they add to the bill - a little business tempter tantrum increasingly foisted upon customers by business owners (in this case, a large chain by the name of Restaurants Unlimited) in the Seattle area to express their displeasure of the city's minimum wage level. I have no sincerely held opinion about local minimum wage legislation. If the locals want to raise it, so be it. If they don't, fine. But what I do object to is corporate laziness and petty stunts. As a business, if your cost of business increases, either absorb it or raise your prices. If the latter, good quality will always justify a higher price. However sticking this little "Gotcha! See how mean the Seattle government is!" charge on the bill is insulting. And after a poor quality meal, it's also alienating. I won't be returning to this or any other Stanford's, nor will I be patronizing any other Restaurants Unlimited property in the future. I will find another place to enjoy fish and chips, one where they're freshly made, with some nice chips (not politics) on the side.

Their specials are quite varied.

By SandraSue95 |

We stop by this restaurant by the Northgate Mall on our way out of town. We never have been disappointed. The service is good, the food delicious, and it is in a convenient location. The specials each time we have been there have been very good.

Not Overly Impressed But Will Try Again

By Jeff O |

We were in North Seattle on business and decided to avoid the I-5 traffic by dodging into Stanford's. My wife had the tempura prawn sushi appetizer for her meal. I had the tenderloin tips special. She enjoyed her sushi rolls, and I enjoyed the one she allowed me to eat. :) However, for a 'special', the tenderloin tips were not the best. It came with garlic mashed potatoes, asparagus, and a cabernet demi-glace. The tips were OK, but not special. The asparagus was over cooked. There was something wrong with the potatoes. I could not identify what. Perhaps they were not fresh? Maybe boxed/instant? Maybe something was wrong with the garlic? Was it real garlic? I read the menu expecting a satisfying meal, but was let down. I've found that Mondays are not the best days to expect the best from restaurants. Key management and staff are often off after a long weekend. Since my wife's meal was good and the service friendly, we'll give Stanford's another try.

First dinner in Seattle

By saspackersfan |

My friend and I ordered a Washington Chardonnay and the fish tacos. Everything was excellent! Was in walking distance from our hotel, Hotel Nexus. Located in Northgate Mall

I left hungry

By glutenfreejean |

I had a trout luncheon salad, it came with a roll, but since I have celiac disease, I couldn't eat the roll. I asked for a substitution, but she said it was just a roll, so she didn't want to give me quinoa or anything else. The salad was delicious, but small. I ate more food when I got home. I'm over 50, so it's not like I have the appetite of a teenager.

A lot of food but pricwy

By Hung T |

Came here after the symphony downtown. The ambience is really nice. There's a hook to hang your coat by the table which is nice. They give you a lot of food. The ribs were delicious but a bit too saucy.

Cost of living fee 5% with full tip expected, whaaaat?

By lordboots |

$3.75 for iced tea, $7.95 for soup, $18 for a burger, and we have a $15 minimum wage in Seattle and they say the 5% fee is for wages and NOT in lieu of tips. So I’m Thinking: I could go to the Metropolitan Grill downtown Seattle and get a prime Steakhouse $18 wagyu burger and it would be memorable, good and cheaper. The prices are too high and this cost of living fee is shenanigans. They should pay better. I live in the neighborhood and won’t be visiting again any time soon.

Great value

By Babalish |

Decor is warm and inviting, service is great, food always an excellent value.

Great place for Happy Hour

By Jamie V |

Located near the mall - a bit tricky to get to if you miss the first left turn. Great service and drink and food specials during happy hour. Sat on the bar side and was seated right away and found the service to be excellent. Would recommend for meeting a client there after a busy day to grab a drink and bight to eat.

Good place to eat

By gabriellap |

This is a very nice place to eat. The tasting menu ivery good, interesting and well priced. My only complaint is they do not acknowlege you Open Table Reservation so that you don't receive the credit you are due.

Good Food, Good Service, Good Choices

By Joel052 |

A very nice restaurant with a varied menu and middle of the road pricing. My wife and I shared two appetizers and the main course was enough for us to share as well. The service was quick and friendly. The caesar salad was great, the baked avocado was average and the fajitas were very good. We didn't have desert but they are on display when you walk in and they looked delicious.

Nice staff, average food

By Sandy N |

This is convenient to Northgate, and a handy place to eat. The staff is welcoming and the prices are reasonable. Some of the food seems like it was pre-prepared....nothing special. We ordered a Burnt Creme for dessert, and the glazing on top was good, but the creme had the consistence of a grainy pudding....not my usual experience with this dessert. Good place for a kid's birthday.

Excellent service and exceptional food!

By GAboyINBama |

The service was great, the Bartender was awesome! I had the steel-head with 2 cheeses, great fish! Great craft beer!

Good food but not out of the ordinary

By Kerry B |

The service was good and prompt but not out of the ordinary. I would say it is nothing more than an average place to eat. The only nice part for me was the fact that it was not in the mall. It was in walking distance from our hotel.

Lovely Lunch!

By PanoramaPoint |

Wanting lunch in the Northgate area, we chose Stanford's and were glad we did. Seated at a comfortable booth near eastern windows, our smiling, upbeat server Heidi pleasantly conversed, brought our food and was an important part of our experience. My friend enjoyed the steelhead salad. My half chicken club with tomato soup and fries satisfied in both presentation and taste. Just the right portions, too. For quiet, cozy dining, Stanford's is a perfect place for a lovely lunch.

Very Pleased

By Claudetteth |

If you are in the area, and looking for somewhere to eat, you will find this to be a great place. The menu is quite extensive and everything is made in house. I opted for the Southern Chicken Salad and my husband had fish and chips. Both were generous in size and extremely tasty. The salad came with a pesto salad dressing and chipolte sauce _ both were excellent. My husband found the fish and chips nicely prepared...not from frozen fish and with a flavourful and light crust. Our waiter was well informed and very attentive. We will certainly return.

Good Food

By Lois67 |

A packed lounge during the Seahawks game, we were able to find a seat, order and eat fairly quickly. The service was friendly, efficient and consistent. The food was good and had value against the price. Definitely recommend

Kitchen Troubles

By Daniel H |

We have gone to this Restaurant fairly often in the past. Alth the prices tend to run high for the quality of the food. The service is usually stellar, they have a decent wine by the glass selection, and the booths allow a conversation with my spouse. Tonight, however, things took a dow turn. We made 6 pm reservations on open table. When we arrived the Hostess told us we would need to wait 10 minutes for a table. She offered us immediate Lounge seating, where thete was no wait. This begs the question as to why offer 6 pm reservations on Open Table if you don't have the tables? The waiter was pleasant and took our orders promptly. Drinks arrived in short order, but the food did not. Eventually our waiter came and stated the kitchen was running ten minutes behind (another ten minutes!). He did offer us complimentary bread or soup as we waited. The bread and our order arrived simultaneously about 10 minutes later. Unfortunately my Halibut and Fries seemed to have been waiting to be served awhile, while my wife's Burger was cooked to black on the bottom. She had ordered the burger medium. She would have sent it back but we were starving at this point. Her salad looked fresh on top, but was dressed with the wrong dressing on top and below was another dressing (creamy something) with lots of Romaine root ends. We overheard our usual experienced waiter apologizing to numerous tables that the kitchen was having trouble tonight. He was asking how he could make people happy. I would say this Stanfords is having kitchen problems. Not sure we will return.

Waitress was good, restaurant attitude was poor

By OnTheRoadTucsonAZ |

Six of us came for dinner. Because we're from the desert (Tucson) we wanted seafood and all ordered one of the seafood specials. Three of us ordered the Wild Alaska Salmon Oscar. "Oscar" to me means with asparagus and indeed the menu says it includes ("fresh Dungeness crab, asparagus..." We were served no bread, our drinks took a while to be delivered, and dinner was slow in coming. About the time we were getting antsy about where our dinners were, the waitress came to us to tell us that "the dinners were cooked, just waiting to be plated, but the kitchen has run out of asparagus." !!! None of the three wanted their "Oscar" dinner with a vegetable that wasn't asparagus. two opted for no vegetable at all, the third wanted another special. No mention that they would bring out 5 dinners while she had to wait for her dinner. As a result, we were practically finished before her dinner arrived. The manager (we think, he never identified himself) was less than helpful and his manner was abrupt at best and at worst could be considered condescending. He finally agreed that we shouldn't have to pay the full $24.95 for an "Oscar" dinner that didn't include asparagus and took off $5 from each of the three that ordered an Oscar dinner. The waitress throughout was pleasant and apologetic, which is more than I can say for the "manager." We don't live here so it's unlikely that we'd go back anyway, but I have to say that this is not the attitude that a restaurant should have that charges in the $25/person range for the main course. And perhaps our visit is representative of the general attitude of the restaurant as we were there at 7pm and there were only about 5 tables with customers.

Great food

By stockbv |

Easy access for delicious food. We go for medical appointments at NW Hospital and find the best food ever at Stanford’s. Salads are full of goodies. Best burgers. Great seating with peaceysetting.

Nice restaurant to go and enjoy a good dinner.

By Launa H |

We did make reservations for 5:30 party of four. It was busy but seated quickly. Servers are very pleasant and helpful. Standford's Restaurant does have a full bar so you are able to get an adult beverage. Plenty of parking around the restaurant. Good selection of different foods to select from. Steaks, Fish and Chips. Cod or Halibut. Crab Cakes are on the appetizer menu. Nice place to go to celebrate something special or just enjoy a nice dinner. Enjoy!

A favorite for lunch or dinner

By E H |

This is a favorite for several reasons: great location, excellent food, variety of menu. Ample servings and very satisfying. Service is very good. The steak burger to die for! Southwest salad huge and tasty.

Horrible happy hours and server was very rude

By csolsen2 |

I travel alone most of the time, so I enjoy a good happy hour. This place is horrible. Food is awful and service to match. When the bartender came by as asked what I wanted to order, once I said the happy hour menu, I now became an inconvenience. Her name by the ticket was April. This server just is horrible, treats you like a red headed step child. Drinks are weak pours and the food is ineatable. Please just avoid this place, it is awful.

Good Prime Rib

By gabriellap |

This restaurant has very good service and really good prime rib. The wine selection is so-so and a little overpriced, but on the whole the experience was nice.

all of us enjoyed our choices for lunch

By mwhamburger |

I had the Prawn sizzle and it was delicious and beautifully served. The other two a bean soup and salad and a Chicken salad. Generous portions. Good service. Nice restaurant at the NW corner of the Northgate Shopping Center. Free parking. Extensive menu options. What we found confusing was the 4.9% LWgeSC charge on our bill with the explanation that this is added to contribute directly to employee wages, but is NOT in lieu of server gratuity. Does it mean that they don't really get the established minimum wage and that each diner pays for it? I'm confused and a bit put out. Seems like a questionable way of jacking up the minimum wage? We don't live in Seattle. Perhaps someone can explain what's going on here

Good enough for a beer and more

By Gabe E |

We stopped in for a beer and spinach artichoke dip appetizer. Service was fine as was the beer and dip. Not disappointed

Solid and Reasonable

By John H |

A great regular place we love to dine at which offers reasonable prices, consistently good food and great service. In fact, they have 1/2 price wine night every Wednesday! What a great value!

Basic but good

By Kaela |

We tried a few different entrees and mostly enjoyed everything! Nothing super fancy or complicated but everything was prepared well and tasty. Especially liked the pepper bacon mad and cheese.

Meh

By Tacomataster |

I hesitate to write this because there is so little to say. Generic. Formulaic. Homogenous. Struck me as an upscale Red Robin. It's a peculiar experiment, designing a comfortable if impersonal space, which it is, and an appetizing menu, which they have, only to produce food that is as bland as the building it's served in. But since it's located in a mall parking lot I suppose they have a captive audience. I should point out that every staff member we encountered did their utmost to please and serve our loud, disorganized and somewhat oblivious party. I have been on the other side of such encounters and could have done no better. So, by all means, if you're trapped and starving at the Northgate Mall and want something slightly better than average chain restaurant food, you will at least find large portions and good service at a fair price here.

Just OK

By luv4phood |

We selected Stanford's for dinner because we were looking for a traditional steak house type of restaurant. There are plenty of steak offerings on the menu including prime rib. Everything was fine but nothing was outstanding. The restaurant was nearly empty but the service was spotty at best. We were left for long stretches without food, without dishes cleared, without water, without being offered another drink, etc.

Expensive fast food fare!

By Shawn K |

Have been to Stanford's before, food and service have always been iffy at best. Tonight was a birthday dinner for 77 year old mom. We were going to Ivars but opted for Stanford's instead because we were running a littler later than we thought and Stanford's had been passable in the past. We were also starving! Should have gone to Ivars, the prices are about the same but food sooo much better. Service OK, needs some more refinement in better attention to the tables for water and finding out how everything is going. Mom ordered fish and chips and ordered the salmon special. When the food arrived it looked good and the first bite of salmon :( RAW inside! Finally got our waiters attention (he was working on another tables order at the computer) and he was very apologetic and said he would get it fixed and tell the manager. The salmon came back, all they did was re-grill it. Unfortunately with the sauce on it already it just made it gross tasting and the vegetables were cold from waiting for the salmon re-cook. The only thing that was fairly decent was the rice, so basically it would be $23.99 for the only edible thing on the plate. Mom's fish and chips were OK, a little greasy she said. I tried them and they were not the best. The manager did come over, although my dinner companions thought it should have been immediately and not well after the issue. To the managers credit he did listen, apologize, and took the salmon off the bill. He also paid for our desert. We got one and shared, crème brûlée. Not the best, really poor brûlée top. This poor kitchen really needs some guidance by a chef who has had training and one that can train! Bottom line is if your looking for a good value for your money meal, go somewhere else. If you want to sit in the bar and watch TV, this might be for you.

Over priced for not such geat quality food.

By Janice H |

It looks really nice, but once inside the server made us feel rushed and was possibly over booked because we did not see him often. We made our selections and were looking forward to our first nice meal in Seattle. MAN< were we disappointed, jsut nothing about it was worth the price we paid. NO FLAVOR, NO SEASONING, and NO WAITER, most the time. I can not recommend this place at all. DO not let the lovely decor fool you into over paying for bad food.

Good hamburger

By Rehsinup19 |

I ate a hamburger here and enjoyed. It was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The ingredients were fresh and offered a nice combination of flavors.

a reliable lunch restaurant

By Michparis |

Easy to find, near Northgate Mall, yet away from the other chain restaurants. Service was pleasant, our food arrived properly cooked and in a reasonable amount of time. Our server Kacey (?) came by a couple of times to assure that all was well and DID NOT say "are you still working on this ", I actually thanked her for her omission. There was not visible large screens TV where we sat, and the music was kept low. Overall, a solid restaurant for a business lunch.Clean and inviting for low voices conversations.

Adequate American Food

By VickiHo |

I have not discovered a signature dish for this restaurant. Steaks, hamburgers, and everything in between. Not the place for you if you're on a plant-based regimen.

Wonderful Restaurant

By JRC576 |

We went to Stanford's to celebrate our adult daughter's birthday. The staff were welcoming and cordial. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was comfortable. We had an enjoyable lunch and may return to eat there again.

Thanksgiving reservation stafu resolved

By Zipster16 |

Showed up for our 1pm family Thanksgiving dinner only to find out that we are not on the reservation list. Spoke with Manager who seated us but was a bit urgent about getting us to order right away. All turned out okay. Ribs were tender and a hit with the teenager on our group who always chooses this item regardless of the restaurant. Due to Grandma's ineffective dentures, Stanford's was willing to substitute chicken in the Steak Cobb salad. I had the steelhead which came with brussel sprouts, squash and mashed potatoes. Fish was moist and not over done which is a typical problem. Finished it all.with the chocolate cake which comes heated in a mug with a mountain of whipped creme. This was more like eating fudge than cake. A bit overwhelmingly, not in a positive way. Howevwe, overall a satisfying experience.

Do not recommend

By Susan H |

My son took his date at Stanfords for prom yesterday. He ordered the filet medium rare. It came blue rare (I saw the pic). He sent the steak back. They brought it back rare. They did not have the time to send it back again though he did bring it to the waiter's attention. His date's food was apparently mediocre at best. My son was unable to eat his. They did not even offer to make it right with a discount- maybe because he's a kid? He did bring it home and yes, it was very poorly prepared and very rare. So sad to see that such a big night in a kid's life was marred by inept cooking and poor customer service. I will never go back and will always recommend that people avoid this place. Shameful.

Classic Old Style Grille

By IowaGrandparents |

Seafood was wonderful. Steaks looked good too. Nice quiet atmosphere the way steak and seafood grilles used to be. The wood fire aroma only added to the relaxed and welcoming ambience. Would go out of my way to return if I'm in the area.

Disappointing !

By Dreamy7174 |

Although the food was great, i expected more for a fine dining restaurant, not even offered if we want to have wine, not even a bread for appetizer. Could have gotten better service somewhere else on the same price.

Restaurant with nice appeal

By Nancy D |

This was an attractive and comfortable lunch spot for my friend and I. The menu offered many choices of food and drinks. I had the cod fish and chips, which provided 3 pieces off fish, fries, and slaw. All had unique seasoning that worked well together. Service was good and we didn't wait long for our order. Even though this is in Northgate Mall, it sits far enough away across the parking lot that parking was plentiful.

Better for a drink than a meal

By Brighid H |

We went during happy hour to grab a quick dinner. Having a decent sized list of dishes offered, we were happy to try quite a few different dishes. The food was mostly greasy and average tasting, nothing profound or inspired. We ordered the fry sampler as none of the dishes said that fries would come with the entree, when served three of the entrees had heaps of fries (the waitress didn't bother to inform us of this). The drinks were decent and not too steeply priced. The waitress didn't seem too pleased to serve us (or her other tables) but several of the other waitstaff were helpful.

Pleasant Surprise

By NarrowMindedJim |

We were seated as soon as we arrived on a busy Friday evening. We loved the atmosphere, service and food. The prices were reasonable, too. A most enjoyable evening. Side note: I stupidly lost my car keys (found later) and needed AAA locksmith service. The staff was MORE than helpful in searching with us and offering to let us stay in out of the cold weather even if not unlocked when they were due to close the restaurant and bar. Even while waiting they checked to see if we wanted or needed anything else.

Nicer than we thought

By travelerdebBaltimore |

We enjoyed our dinner more than I thought we would. We weren't familiar with this restaurant but decided to give it a try. My husband had a wonderful cheeseburger; he really enjoyed it. We shared a house salad. It was a little different because it had bacon and delicious croutons in it. I had the chicken with cheese sandwich. The bread was great. Sourdough with a little butter grilled into it. Both dishes came with a mound of fries. We couldn't finish our dinner and we are big eaters. Our total bill was way less than $50. Service was prompt. It was a little dark for my taste, but overall ok.

Northgate restaurant, a great place to meet

By Mauri S |

I've eaten here three times, mainly because it is a great location to meet friends or business associates in the Northgate area. It is easy to find and has free parking. But, I now want to recommend the food and service, both of which are excellent. We've had the prawn appetizer, the daily soup specials (lentil and black bean), the veggie burger (HUGE) and made a special vegetable order. All were excellent. The wait staff was so friendly and quick.

Great food with 3rd String Staff

By ebcnaz |

The food is great, the staff unfortunately seems clueless. The hostess didn't see both my party and I were there. Someone else had to clue her in. The waitress kept pushing food that my guest was very clear that she didn't want. The level of the staff seems to have fallen. Too bad as they have great food.

Great restaurant

By shazzzbo |

Driving back from a trip out, found this restaurant. Wasn’t busy, got seated straight away. Server was friendly. Food was amazing.

Very Good American Food

By Ann H |

During a trip to Seattle, we ate two lunches at Stanford's. The menu offerings are fairly extensive and are reasonably priced. Servings are generous. We all enjoyed their French Dip sandwich so much, we ordered it both visits.

GREAT place to eat

By Claudetteth |

This is our second time here and the food and service were once again great. The place has a good number of booths where you can dine with some privacy. We had the Southwestern salad (smaller portion - it was plentiful) and chicken parmesan. Wiĺl certainly return.

Girls luncheon

By Janet H |

my friends from high school and I went to this restaurant to spend time together. When we got there our table was not ready but that was ok because I asked that we be able to eat outside. They happily changed our seating area. The food was enjoyed by all. Lots of variety and reasonable prices.

Pricey but you get what you pay for

By dven8 |

Very good food and excellent service in a nice ambiance makes this a nice place for a leisurely meal. Recommended.

Prime rib delight

By Waltj-Seattle |

I was craving Prime Rib and finding any at the local stores was impossible so it was recommended I try Stanfords. And Stanfords didn’t disappoint, the prime rib was cooked perfectly. I was also craving onion rings and these were some of the best I have ever had. The batter to onion combination was just right balance. The sides dishes were good as well. The seating in the bar or restaurant area is comfortable and the staff attentive but not over the top. The GM stopped by to check on us and ask how things were going which was a nice touch. There is plenty of parking even with construction going on at Northgate. It’s also a short walk to Kraken practice arena and Light Rail. Plenty of handicap space and you can order to go.

Good food - good service

By SusanJ |

We had dinner at Stanford's this evening. Craig was our waiter and he did a great job. He was knowledgeable, attentive and very friendly. We had the walnut encrusted Brie for an appetizer and shared the ahi tuna salad entree. Both dishes were excellent! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good food and a variety of menu choices.

Good food

Nice restaurant to relax in after a day of shopping. They have good food, excellent friendly service and nice wines.

Bad service

By Denise B |

We made reservations for Mothers Day at 3:30 pm . We were sat promptly in a dining room that was perhaps 35% occupied. We were told that our server would be right with us. A good 10 minutes later we were approached by our server . I would like to give you her name but she didnt tell us and she wore no nametag. She asked us if we wanted something to drink. She returned right away with drinks but disappeared for another 10 minutes . We ordered everything at that point. Our appetizers were crabcakes and calamari. Next course was Caesar salad and soup of the day. Our entree were pork chop sub baked for mashed. Full rack of ribs sub baked potato for fries and fish and chips. I asked for red onion on my salad and some balsamic vinegar. About 15 minutes later our appetizers arrived. they were delivered by either a food runner or another server. We were not given appetizer plates. After about 5 minutes we flagged someone down for plates. Half way through our apps our server asked how everything was. I reminded her about the balsamic vinegar . She brought out a side of vinegrette dressing. My husbands soup was served shortly after the apps . I never received the Caesar salad. We finished or apps and sat with dirty plates in front of us for about 15 more minutes until our dinners were served by another server. He had no choice but to clear our dirty plates. my husband was served a rack of lamb instead of the full rack of ribs,We told this server that that wasnt what we ordered. He returned in about 5 minutes with a half rack of ribs and french fries. Again he made the correction. The baked potato took about 10 minutes to appear. It was only when we were half way done with our meal that our server came to ask how we were. At that point she took our glasses for refills and was gone for more than 10 minutes. when she returned with our drinks she cleared our plates. Instead of offering dessert and coffee she asked if there was anything else and promptly left the check. I am well aware that Mothers Day in restaurants is always a challenge . With that in mind we tried to be more understanding but I feel that our server was not focused on her job and we suffered because of it, Mothers day is a special day for the people who come in ..I was not made to feel special as a matter of fact her service put a damper on our day. My husband felt the need to apologize for her.I told him that he had the best intentions Im not sure our server did. I was not charged for the Caesar salad but we were charged $5.00 for a baked potato that was a substitution . We did not want to confront her and just paid it and left. Also my husband made this reservation because he knows how much I like a good prime rib . I only like pure straight horseradish with it and I will pass if I dont have horseradish. We asked our server if the plain horseradish was available and was told no ..just the creamy sauce. So I ordered pork chop instead.

Service is great, food is good, prices are ridiculous

By TravelTalk2 |

I come here every couple of months for lunch. They have a great server, Heidi, and we always ask for a table in her station. She takes great care of her customers. The food is usually pretty good and the fresh sheet dishes are always yummy. The problem is the prices. Twenty-six bucks for a lunch special is ridiculous. You can sometimes find a reasonable option on the fresh sheet menu, but the other day I had a salmon dish that was seventeen and the size was that of a regular appetizer. Common folks, you're not a high end downtown restaurant. You're in the parking lot of the Northgate Mall for goodness sake.

Good alternative for dinner after a Seahawks game...

By R K L |

Instead of trying to negotiate the drunken fans in Pioneer Square, we opted for going to Stanford's Northgate. With the Link Lightrail stopping a short walk from the restaurant, it turned out to be a good alternative for dinner after a Seahawks game. We even enjoyed a nice bottle of pinot noir with our steelhead and crab sandwich meals, and then we took the Link back south, past the stadium to our home station. No fuss, no muss...and no driving!

Great Happy Hour

By Michele L |

Met a friend here for happy hour. Was pleased to see vegetarian options and even salad. Had a great pasta and salad dinner for under $10!

Caesar Salad Yummy!

By Pat J |

We had lunch yesterday in the bar. The wait staff was attentive but not overbearing. The Caesar Salad dressing was spectacular. I had a half sandwich(crab/artichoke) and half salad. While the portions were a little small, the taste and quality were excellent. I will return.

Happy Hour snacks

By Emi |

We wandered into Stanford's looking for an afternoon snack. And were told it was happy hour. I had cheeseburger sliders. My friend had fish tacos. I had a Margarita. And the bill was very reasonable. Two thumbs up.

Good service at the bar for food and drinks

By dbinhou7511 |

Nice friendly restaurant, sat at the bar which had good service. Happy hour specials. The crab and artichoke sandwich was very good. Like eating crab dip on a sandwich.

Big Varied Menu, Good Service. Nice Place

By ALEX P |

The restaurant is comfortable and large with a separate large bar area. The menu has about everything you could want from Pizza and Burgers to Baked fish and Prime Rib. I had the Margarita izza and it was excellent. The crust was delicious. My guest had the ribs and enjoyed them. Both ordered salads which were slow to arrive, but it was OK as they didn't drop the mains right on top of us so the pace was fine. Service was good and the value was too. Recommend the place and would definitely return. Lot's of local drafts beers too.

Great salmon dish

By Michelle L |

My companion and I each had their nightly special. Alaskan salmon with Dungeness crab, asparagus and garlic potatoes. Meal was delicious and we were each presented with a $10 gift certificate to celebrate their anniversary. Very near U of W in a mall location 1 minute from route 5.

Solid Location For Dinner

By Steve A |

If I lived here I would have this as one of my locals. The look on the outside conveys it will be expensive, that is not the case. Lovely staff serving food from the kitchen who know what they are doing. I would not hesitate to come back again. We were staying in the Double Tree by Hilton. You could walk, it’s worth it. They also have a bar as well

Good Food Nice Decor

By Tessa M |

Had the BBQ chicken and beef dip and loved it. You definitely need to try the Brie appetizer, it was amazing! Beautifully decorated, especially for the holidays. I would definitely come again.

Well worth a visit if in the Northgate Mall area

By 54lynn |

Stopped in for lunch. It is really frustrating to go to restaurants that supposedly have top chefs, and not find 1 or 2 dedicated vegan options on the menu. Come on guys, I am not the only vegan wanting to dine! That been said I ordered the quinoa / kale salad. It was really yummy but I found it interesting that there was probably 1 tablespoon of quinoa sprinkled on the top. I then ordered some sides from other entrees - the black beans and lemon basmati rice. This too was delicious. I have to give a shoutout to our server Melissa. She was beyond phenomenal. Never assumed anything, coming to the table several times to make sure she understood our orders perfectly. Always friendly.

Good service, okay food

By Dan S |

This was our first time in a Stanfords restaurant. We stopped in at around 8:00pm and the wait time was approximately 15 minutes. Our waiter was very helpful and polite. We had ordered the Baja fish and Baja shrimp tacos. The shrimp tacos were very bland and flavorless. The fish tacos had some flavor along with the rice that was part of the dish. The common negative with both meals were the "soft" taco shells. They were not very soft, they were to chewy almost as if they were old. Their apple crisp was delicious.

Nice option outside Northgate Mall

By Krisinseattle |

Always popular around lunchtime, we enjoyed a busy Friday lunch with many others. Had the Grilled salmon salad and the Chicken Club sandwich.

Azteca Youbetcha!

By Momma Harris |

Warm tortilla chips and salsa upon arrival. Fabulous Margaritas. Large portions. Music is fun, but a bit too loud. Sometimes it's been chilly, so bring your sweater or jacket, just in case. We were there for Lunch on our last visit. It was reasonable and tasty. My son (age 23) who isn't fond of Mexican fare found the hamburger to be quite sufficient and he liked the fries too. If you're shopping the Northgate Mall or are in the area and want a little bit more meal (bang for your buck) than the food court or Red Robin, then this is your answer!

good meal

By steveinwa1 |

Convenient to Northgate Mall exit from I-5. Their house special mac & cheese is terrific. Ribs were so-so, but I'm not a lover of dry rub. I like ribs drenched in great bbq sauce, and these weren't. Bread pudding was awesome. Overall, broad menu and a nice place to eat.

Delicious dinner!

5 of us ladies for an early dinner and all of our dishes were great. Server was very friendly and paid just the right amount of attention to us. She had no problem splitting our bills as well.

One of our regular spots in Seattle

By Randy K |

We typically stay in this area when visiting Seattle. We found this restaurant several years ago while visiting the mall. With much of the mall closed for rennovation, the restaurant moved to a corner of the parking area in a stand alone building. Parking is limited but once inside, we found the food and service to be excellent as we've experienced in the past.

Great consistent service

By Jani_Vladi |

Visited this restaurant on Friday at 5:15 PM with Family. We were immediately seated and the server was very nice. We tried multiple items on their Happy Hour Menu and all of them were freshly made. We ordered the 4 cheese Pizza and it was pretty good. Overall great visit and great place to grab a dinner.

Great lunch - both food and service!

By cla1429 |

Great lunch menu (especially the crab and artichoke sandwich). We were seated quickly and waiter was prompt with service and food. Quality of food is very good. Prices were reasonable for a good lunch and all else was exceptional.

Great find

By Jenne E |

We had planned to go elsewhere for lunch but when we couldn't find the restaurant, decided to eat here. We lucked out. The food was absolutely delicious and our waitress Heidi was attentive, and yet gave us time to decide on what we wanted to eat and just seemed to be around when we wanted her to be. We decided to share a salad and a sandwich plate with a side of soup. She brought the salad on two plates, which was both unexpected and very much appreciated. She did the same with the sandwich and our side of soup that we were sharing. We were both very impressed with the food and service we received at this restaurant. Thanks for a great experience.

The Best Lunch at Northgate

By PanoramaPoint |

With Northgate Mall restaurants closed enjoy a wonderful lunch at Stanford’s. Many people were in the dining room so we found a cozy booth in the lounge. Comfortable, classic and they have a good menu and service by April S. My friend ate every bite of a beautiful fresh beet and spinach salad and I thoroughly enjoyed my tomato basil soup accompanying my half chicken club combo. While possible, savor a large slice of made-from-scratch luscious key lime pie with real whipped cream and Graham cracker crust. Don’t pass by Stanford’s or the pie.

Great for Groups

By maryellenbradley |

We had a group of 19 who had lunch at Sanford's. The sevice was great for such a large group . Our meals all arrived at the same time. Several of us had the soup and 1/2 sandwich lunch which also came with fries. The soup was very good (both the beef barley and the tomato basil). Others at the table ordered salads and they were large. No one had any complaints.

Very good food and service!

By Susanne T |

We met friends, who had been there a number of times for lunch and were not disappointed! Service by Diana (spelling?) was wonderful and we all enjoyed our meals very much. Three had the Prime Rib Dip and they were cooked perfectly to order; two had the Caesar salad on the side and one the French Fries, which were delicious! The horseradish sauce on the side had a great flavor and just enough heat to not overpower the meat. I had the Knife and Fork Crab 'n Artichoke Sandwich, which was a heart attack waiting to happen and sooooo yummy! It's essentially crab and artichoke dip on Focaccia bread, topped with cooked onions and tomatoes. The side salad left nothing to wish for either! It was nice to sit in a booth, so we were able to talk without much noise around us (they also have every other table blocked off right now due to 'Covid'). There is also bar seating and outdoor seating available. Parking is plentiful.

Excellent service, good food

By dven8 |

Probably the nicest Maitre d' and best service we encountered during a two week trip to the States. Lots of food choices, and everything we tried was good. Recommended!

First Visit

By GigSn3 |

We found ourselves in the area and decided to stop in for late lunch. It was our first visit and we were impressed by the range of choices for lunch. The service was friendly and prompt. The food was excellent. Definitely a place to consider at the makl and what a nice full service meal

Pretty good. Server only fair.

By Love To Savor |

Had a business lunch at Northgate Stanford’s. Hostess was friendly and seated me immediately. Restaurant was clean. Sever showed promptly. She was attentive but not friendly...seems to have a bit of an attitude..”I don’t want to be here.” Food came in a reasonable amount of time. My Brussels sprouts were excellent; the halibut pretty flood. If I go again I will ask for a section not assigned to the same server.

Great food, service and deal!

By rpisces |

Three of us tried different things, all of us cleaned our plates. The homemade Ranch dressing is phenomenal! adding a glass of wine for only $3.95!!! WOW!! Natalie was our server, and she was amazing! We will be back soon.

Just average

By rcaf_14 |

Decided to try this restaurant during our recent stay in Seattle. We were staying in the Shoreline area and asked our hotel for some suggestions. They mentioned that there were plenty of restaurants at the local Northgate mall. Had a quick look at the menu and assumed it was like a Moxies or Milestones type of place. It was not busy while we were there, but the servers and kitchen seemed to be confused and flustered. Food quality was below average and I would not recommend this restaurant for the kind of money you end up spending.

Back again after awhile, still great as ever!

By NWMex |

Stopped in to Stanford's recently. I had a friend new to Seattle and was in the area of Northgate. He asked about someplace to get good drinks and some good food. He knew a couple of places in the mall, but I mentioned consistent quality experienced here in the past. He agreed to meet me there. A warm welcome of course was the first nice thing about the night. We sat in the bar. Water was immediately brought over and drinks offered. My friend was not familiar with some of the beers so was even offered 'a taste' before he really decided one. I thought that was a nice gesture. Especially since he didn't care for it and didn't have to order it, then suffer through the whole pint. I had a crabcakes app, very tasty, served with a good helping of delicious cole slaw. My friend had the pulled pork sandwich, served 'piping' hot and it included a good sized accompanying salad. He was very happy with his choice too. I used to bring my mom here a lot and we always enjoyed the service, the food and the atmosphere. She has a little trouble getting around now days so we haven't been in awhile. One of the best things for her, they have a 'Family Restroom'. So I can always assist her when she ever needed to use the restroom here. A big plus when your dealing with elderly folks with a walker. And they always make a great Cosmo!

used to be better

By Joe K |

I have been to Stanford's a number of times over the years and it used to be great, great service and food. The food is still amazing, however the service has gone completely down hill. I meet my friend for dinner and I was late so my friend said just give the host my name and he will show you where I am. I give the host my friends name and he tells me to hold on while talking to a coworker. The hostess then goes to his computer and looks at me like "what do you want?" I asked again for my friend and he rolled his eyes and said "oh yea, over here." After sitting for about 10 minutes our server asked "what do you want to drink? ", not do I want anything. The drinks too a good 10 minutes as well. We finally ordered and that too took forever, luckily my entree salad and my friends steak was delicious and filling. We then got our check and when we asked for him to split it, he said "we don't do that" (which I know they do because we do it all the time). He finally brought our check after agian, more and more waiting. I was also shocked that my one martini was 11.25. When we left we were also shocked that when we walked by our server and others, no one thanked us or invited us back. I love the food but the service and the pricing is quickly turning me off, which is to bad because I am a RUI restaurant member and used to love coming here.

The BEST!

By Caitlin M |

We ate at Stanford's on a whim during our stay in Seattle. We were planning on going to a grocery store and look for food along the way. We saw a mall and knew food would be near. I am so happy that we stopped here. I had a barbecue pulled pork sandwich and it was the best I have ever had. Stop here when in Seattle!

Nice & Consistent Quality and Service that is Wonderful

By ebcnaz |

Every Stanford I visit is consistent in its quality and service. Any competitor would be wise to emulate what they provide. I love coming here for business lunches not having to worry about distractions in those. Thank you Stanford's!

Delicious

By GoodKarmaTraveler |

We ate here two years ago and while traveling through Seattle stopped and ate lunch on Labor Day Saturday. The location is so handy. The atmosphere was right up our alley - music playing from the 50's and 60's. The decor is lovely. And my meal was the best of the trip - very tasty. I felt like I was on a cruise ship and rated my lunch a "ten." My husband rated his an "eight" and said the quality of the bun could have been better.

Outstanding Mahi Lobster Risotto

By overthehill79 |

We used a Groupon to dine at this restaurant, our first visit. We were seated promptly and the waiter introduced himself as Nicholas, saying he would return to take our drink orders. Unfortunately, he had too many tables to cover so the sevice was a bit slow. The interior of the restaurant is very pleasant with natural woods and good lighting. I could read the menu easily. We ordered two glasses of Pinot Grigio ($8.25) and decided on their Mahi Mahi & Lobster Risotto ($24.95). Great selection as we both agreed it had wonderful flavor and the portion reasonable. We were too full to order a desert which was probably just as well. Total bill before tip was $33.70 after he applied the Groupon. Nicholas would probably been more attentive had he not had so many tables to cover. It may have been an exception that night so a return visit might be warranted to see if service is faster. the food was good.

Ho Hum.

By AKRockyTop |

This place was actually pretty nice inside, seemed clean and organized. Wait staff was a 3.5 out of 5 overall, food was fine. Nothing special about the place; definitely a nice quieter alternative to the food court in the mall. Prime Rib was good, not amazing. Salad was a salad. Prices were fair. Good place for large groups, business lunch ect. Classic American Menu.

Stanford's Restaurant and Bar

By JoAnne L |

Excellent food and service. Steaks and crab sushi are delicious. Ambiance is great in the dining area & bar.

Nice flavors

By ClintonWhidbeyGal |

Stanford's was a nice change of pace on a Friday night. The food was very flavorful and nicely presented. We shared three appetizers, which were plentiful. The wings (which I am not a fan of) came in 3 sauces, honey lemon, bbq and hot wings. I did try the lemon wings and was impressed by the flavors. The onion rings had huge slices of onion and were truly the nicest rings I’ve had in a long time. My selection was the roasted artichoke with aioli sauce – it was divine. I skipped the dinner selection as the appetizers were large and I was savoring my artichoke but my friends said their pizza and salad were great. The portions are large!

Worst Service EVER

By Sheila S |

Was part of a group of 12 on Christmas Eve - subject to the mandatory 18% tip. Worst service ever! Asked 3 times for simple things such as butter for mashed potatoes or more ice tea. Never received. Then waitress was upset with us because we were upset with her and didn't ask a 4th time! Apparently groups where tips are mandatory mean bad service is the standard at Stanford's!.

Staff is wonderful Food not so.

By Donna R |

Ive been to Staffords many times in the past and always loved their prime rib dip sandwich. Today I was so disappointed. The meat had some spice added in the sandwich and the bowel of juice to dip sandwich was 50% grease! You could tell it was grease because the center of the bowel was brown and it was surrounded by clear liquid fat from the roast. It was terrible. I ate 1/2 of the sandwich with the 'JUICE' and immediately took TUMS when I left the restaurant. So shocked and disappointed. Also didn't like having the meat shredded. I'd like to know if that is the way you plan to continue serving prime rib sandwich's. Will have to find another place to go if that is the case. Also asked for med rare and it was well done.

It wasn't their fault.

By Andrew W |

...We should have booked at the RAM, but we forgot. And it was game day. So we walked on over to Stanford's and it was great. Nice food, good beer choices, everything you could want. Our wait staff were very pleasant but seemed a little tired and grumpy with us. We did have 15 people at the table, so understandably it makes there job more stressful. Overall - just a very average meal and night out.

Large lunch group

I've eaten at this restaurant in Portland and didn't pay attention that it was a nice place to have a lunch/dinner meeting meal, the set up is convenient for smaller groups. Our group of 14 took a bit to arrange the tables but the food was good enough and they did a great job of customer service.

Amazing,delicious,good customer service.

Great atmosphere and good food

We had a wonderful dinner at Stanton's. My halibut and chips were perfectly cooked. My mom and my cousin both had ribeye steaks that were cooked to their specific taste. Service was slightly slow...mainly because the bar was slow to get drinks made. Our server Jesse did a great job and overall we had a great meal.

The food was well prepared. I had salmon, and my husband had a steak. The restaurant was nice looking and peaceful. The waiter was very pleasant.

I was overnighting in Seattle area just north of Green Lake and asked the motel for a recommendation for a nice restaurant. They quickly suggested Stanfords in the Northgate Mall, and I found it a great choice. I had halibut fish and chips, which was outstanding. The service was excellent and my wine That I chose from an extensive selection was very good. I certainly would recommend it and return.

One of the best

This was absolutely one of the best meals I've every had in a restaurant. The meat was cooked perfectly as well as the lobster tail. The surf and turf appetizers were wonderful. They consisted of a shrimp grilled with special sauce and a small piece of beef attached. Please do yourself a favor and have the marionberry dessert. I haven't a clue what a marionberry is but I'm gonna find out. It was fantastic!

A wide and varied menu

Stanford's has a decent menu to cater to most tastes. Do be aware that they add a surcharge to the bill cover the upcoming increase in the wait-staff wages. The company is trying to get ahead of the game by imposing this fee before it has come to pass!

Nice Place With A Huge Selection

This is a large restaurant just adjacent to the Northgate Mall which has good service, above average food, a large bar with a great Happy Hour and a large selection to choose from. I have eaten here a number of times and always leave happy. Staff is general very friendly which is a plus in my book.

A decent place to spend a Friday evening

By Anthony d |

Stanford is perhaps one of the several choices one has for a drink and a burger on a Friday evening (Applebees, Red Robin.....). The service here is good - perhaps a bit slow because of the evening rush. We ordered a glass of house wine and a well drink along with a couple of burgers. The food was good. We did not try any of their desserts. Do not ask for a glass of hot water - it costs a couple of bucks here. Stanford has a mastered the art of capitalizing on the need to pay their staff a living wage. They charge each customer a fee! I calculated that in the hour that we were there, they way overcompensated for the paltry amount that in all fairness they should have paid in the first place. This place has gone from a $$ to a $$$ and there is no justification for it.
