Our steaks and the entire dinners were outstanding. Wait staff were knowledgeable and trained professionals. View was breathtaking.

Nice location overlooking the lake. Pull up to valet parking. Inside restaurant seating with piano music or outside covered patio window seating. Very attentive waiter to assist with selection of steaks. Diverse menus if you are not a meat eater. Nice wine & cocktail list. Fresh bread & butter provided without having to ask. Appears to be a Birthday celebration venue as 3 Birthday songs were played on the piano. After dinner there is a nice outdoor area to sit & enjoy some live music & dancing. If you want a more upscale experience I would recommend this place.

This is a fabulous family run steakhouse in the suburbs of Austin. The food is amazing and the staff are super friendly and very good with children. Would totally recommend the steak here,

Best steakhouse around, we had amazing food and a great, knowledgeable server named Dave. The steaks and salad were great, and you can’t beat never go wrong with one of their delicious crème brûlées. 20/10 experience will be going back next time we’re in town!

Scott our server was amazing! He really took great care of us. We didn't have to ask for anything. And super knowledgeable. Highly recommend!!!

One of the best Steakhouse's in Austin. Beautiful views of Lake Travis. Outdoor patio also excellent.

A family owned restaurant that is catered to the hoity toity of Austin. The Steiner seemed to have made their fortunes from real estate instead of what they are known for, rodeo and cattle. This steakhouse has more of a chain steakhouse (Gibson’s, Morton’s...) vibe than family owned. The view at this location is wonderful. Try to get outside or by the window seating to see the wonderful sunset. Food wise, nothing really special. The meats are good and the appetizers are fair. Will recommend the lobster mac’n cheese, this alone would be a great meal.

I can't always make it since it is a high end restaurant and a little pricey but well worth it and amazing when I can, but I can do the brunch more often and just as good quality and it's a set price. I thank it was $29 a person last time I went and it's so good and all you can eat very good high quality food, a meat carving table and make to your order omelettes and that Anthony can throw down. Can't say enough

After so many years since we moved from Texas, we were looking for a place to eat a great steak. Well, we found it. Steaks cook to perfection, excellent service by Amanda beautiful decor.

Celebrating new pregnancy and 1st Grandbaby!!! Beautiful location and the sunset view was amazing! Drinks were good! Steaks were Fantastic!! Staff were very helpful! Service was very attentive too!

Order the petit filet! It just might be the best you've ever had! Can't wait to return. 5 STARS!!!!! Also, order the fried green tomatoes!

Excellent food in a great patio overlooking Lake Travis Go for the steaks. Great selection of steaks and beer and live music to entertaining All in the always great Texan welcome environment

My family and I went to steiner ranch steakhouse this week. It was our first time. The food was phenomenal, and the view is amazing. JJ was our server and she did a wonderful job. She recommended a bottle of wine to go with our tomahawk. She was attentive and knowledgeable. We will be back again next time we are in town.

I loved my experience here! My food was amazing and the servers were extremely friendly! The view is also incredible! I enjoyed my time and my friends had a great time as well!

We attended an event for a large group. The setting is picturesque, the atmosphere truly “Texas” and the staff is excellent. They are friendly and knowledgeable and seemed focused in our total experience. The food was top notch and the wine/drink selection was great. Thanks for a great evening!

The night was lovely until the mains arrived. One of our party has a nut allergy which was made aware to the waitress, and was further made aware to the kitchen as the person with the allergy did not have any nuts on their plate. However not long after the main course arrived, I noticed that I had something resembling an almond on my plate on top of my asparagus. We asked our waitress what it was and she confirmed that it was in fact an almond. When discussing with her that this was not really acceptable as nut allergies along with many other allergies are highly transferable and I and the person with the allergies are a couple so I could easily have cross contaminated throughout the remainder of the night. After noticing the nuts I was not able to finish my meal. We also thought that once this was made aware that it could have at least been removed from the bill as they luckily escaped a potentially serious situation. Unfortunately this was not done until prompted and it was also met with some defensiveness by a manger that it was solely our responsibility. Even though it was never mentioned once on the menu or indeed by our server that the plate had any nuts at all. Due to the severity of allergies we should have been met with nothing but accountability and the decency of understanding that not only I would be unable to finish my meal, but my partner could been seriously, life threateningly ill. I would like to make clear that the waitress did confirm with us that she made that kitchen aware and that the service from her throughout the night was amazing and as it should have been and that we are in no way unhappy with her service. Until after our complaint it appeared that she took the brunt of the blame as her attitude seemed to change towards us after we had spoken to management. I would like to make aware that this is the restaurant as a wholes responsibility, this was a mistake on the kitchens part and would have hoped that staff that are trained in food production and health and safety that they should have taken this much more seriously than they did. And when met with resistance from management it was a disappointing end to the night that was up until then was a lovely night.

Loved the crispy brussell sprouts and fresh veggies. Usually get the prime rib medium rare. It was cooked to perfection, however, the piece they served was about 50% fat. This was very disappointing as they have always served and prepared great prime rib with very little fat. I don't know why they would even serve such a piece to anyone. $39.00 for 14oz and 50% is fat is pretty pricey. Service was excellent. I didn't reject the dinner as we were dining late and the party we were with were picking up the tab as a fathers day gift.

If you are looking for a wonderful experience of enjoying excellent steak along with viewing Austin's greenery from the top, Steiner Ranch should definitely be your choice. The place itself is classic, along with a piano performer would complement such experience. The food quality is so great that I can vouch that this could be one of the best steaks I ever tasted. Also, there are other stuff on the menu worth trying like the mac n cheese, and the nachos. Would definitely like to go there again!

After experiencing the long lines and crowds at the Oasis, we decided to give nearby Steiner Ranch Steakhouse a try. It was more expensive, but it was a great decision. We were seated promptly at an outdoor table with a great view of the lake. Our server Marissa was awesome. We had several appetizers in lieu of an entree. The avocado stuffed with pulled pork was especially good. We finished our meal with a delicious piece of flourless chocolate cake. Even though there were folks in the lobby waiting to be seated, we did not feel rushed. Note that if you are at one of the tables closest to the lake, the sun will be in your eyes, but you will be rewarded with a picture perfect sunset view.

By far one of the best restaurants in Austin. We go a few times a year for dinner and always have such a great experience, exceptional food and outstanding service. Love the view, live band and patio. I recommend for indoor dining, sit near the fireplace. Love this place!

Don't let the name fool you. This is truly find dining and atmosphere. We had a lovely anniversary dinner that was all we expected. Wine list is extensive, but pricey. Food was excellent and they comped us dessert for our celebration. Would go again.

What a disappointment. Heard this was great steak place, so I made a reservation for my wife's birthday on Sunday afternoon, September 25th. We were seated right next to the window overlooking Lake Travis and were served tea right away. But we waited - and waited. Never saw the waiter again. After 30 minutes, I got up looking for the waiter. I found him and asked for menus. He said there were no menus - this was Sunday brunch. He said the kitchen was closed. I said could anyone cook us a steak, and he said "No", in spite of the sign in the front of the building saying "Steakhouse". So, we each got a dollop of scrambled eggs, a sausage patty, and paid the $70, including tip. Overall, I would rate this like a Holiday Inn Express breakfast buffet, except the families were all dressed instead of wearing pajamas. We will never go back!

I recently went to the steiner ranch steakhouse on the recommendation from a friend. I brought my family in to celebrate my mom's birthday. She got a trio and loved it. I got a special that my server, JJ, told me about. It was delicious. I was very impressed with the atmosphere and views of the lake. My mom got a birthday dessert with a candle at the end that was also delicious and fun. The steakhouse definitely did not disappoint. Can't wait to come back and I will definitely ask for JJ again.

First time here. Awesome views from most of the restaurant. The front room (only place with booths) has a LOUD piano player so beware. Service was just OK. Some sides came 15 min after the food and no apology. The seabass (more than the steaks we ordered) was just OK. Ask for the room in back with the VIEWS!! Also outside had an awesome patio, view, live music, and a bar. We won't rush back.

Two couples came for the wonderful view of sunset over Lake Travis, ready to absorb the $50 per person minimum to sit on the patio, and once we were settled into the table of our choice (not the first one offered in a walkway) we were enchanted. We ordered many appetizers and cocktails and liked everything. The standouts were the fried green tomatoes and the avocado stuffed with pulled pork. The quail wings, crab cakes, and crab stuffed mushrooms were very, very good. The steak tips were good; nothing wrong with then but skipping them would not have diminished the meal. Each cocktail was well made and the service was gracious without being intrusive. A lovely evening was made even better once the singer started, and there’s even a dance floor! Worth fighting the traffic to get there.

We had a work related dinner at Steiner Ranch Steakhouse for about 60 people. The food was amazing. It was all severed hot and there was plenty to eat. Our wait staff: Amanda, Bianca, Casey, and David were absolutely amazing. I look forward to my next time in Austin and I will definitely visit Steiner’s Ranch again.

We have been here four times over the past maybe six-ish years that we lived here and our experience has been consistently the same. You enter feeling great, beautiful views, wonderful patio, some live music, bordering on over-the-top hostess service. You have a great ambiance and are having a good time -- but then the food and drinks come and something just sorta doesn't quite line up. You've got a fancy looking list of cocktails, but when you order a bees knees from the menu... it comes out in a glass with ice, a straw, and a lime and tasting a lot more like a moscow mule. You order an expensive glass of champagne and it comes in a thick, short champagne glass it looks like was picked up at Walmart. The food sounds good -- but it never quite lives up to the descriptions or the PRICE points. My tuna steak came out refrigerator cold for example. This is a great spot for the location, the views, and overall vibe -- but go in with low expectations on food and unfortunately drinks because otherwise, I'd be saying go for drinks and view, but our drinks weren't good either. I hadn't been a while so was hoping it had improved -- but ended up being what has become sorta our classic experience here -- $200+ bill for two people and nothing was very good. Still had a great time though.

Stopped in for drinks and to check out the restaurant for future special occasions. The outdoor bar service was excellent with live music which made it even better. Place is very nice and would be excellent for special occasions. Glad we checked it out and plan to bring our sons who live in Austin for future special occasions and we expect it will be excellent food and service with a reasonable but higher price tag.

A little pricey, but an amazing gastronomic experience. Every thing served at SRS is outstanding. From craft cocktails, appetizers, entrees, desserts, all simply fantastic. Service is impeccable, attentive but not intrusive. The wine list has to be one of Austin's finest, no matter how much you want to spend, $ to $$$$$$$, they have a bottle of wine for you. Just a fantastic place, awesome food/drinks, and service beyond compare. Hint: a less expensive way to enjoy SRS is happy hours, great food and prices, and the Sunday brunch, and eclectic buffet, all you can eat, for $20. Nice!

We had evacuated from Hurricane Laura to the Lakeway Resort and Spa. We were a group of five adults and four children. We had decided to have a nice dinner at a nice place on one of our nights while there. Wanted to go to Perry’s Steakhouse, but didn’t want to make the drive into downtown. We read about the scenic views at Steiner’s Ranch and, hey, it’s a steakhouse. We love steak! We had reservations and it did not take very long to be seated. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. I ordered a rib-eye, my husband ordered a New York strip, and my granddaughter ordered a filet. My daughter ordered a wedge salad which she said was very good and she also ordered the scallops, which were not so good. My rib-eye looked great but looks are deceiving. It was full of gristle. The second bite I took had me chewing and chewing and I had to politely take my napkin and dispense of the bite. I kept eating the steak because it was tasty, and I kept hoping it would get better, but it was just too full of gristle to enjoy.so I gave up. For the price, I figured I left about ten/fifteen dollars’ worth of steak on the plate. No ‘to go’ box for me. My husband said the strip was just okay. My granddaughter did not like the filet as she said it was not tender. Her daughter ordered a filet as well and did not eat much of hers either. The mashed potatoes and green beans were just okay. To make the evening even more upsetting, my granddaughter and my daughter both ended up sick. My daughter barely made it back to the hotel to get to a bathroom. My granddaughter was sick for two days. So, we were disappointed to say the least. And the money we spent there would have bought groceries for a week for a family of four. Well, at least the kids enjoyed the ice cream with chocolate syrup. Next time we will make the drive to downtown.

Party of 8 in private room. Service beginning to end was flawless. Great cocktails, nice wine by the glass and great bourbon choices. Most around the table chose steak and raved about the presentation and flavor. I had the flounder which was superb. They just reopened too after cleaning up storm damage, well done Steiner Ranch!

For us, we will not be going back to this restaurant. They do have a view but for a group of 7, our bill was $895. I knew it was pricey but just didn’t expect that. The food was okay in my opinion, not worth that much though. We all got steaks except for my nieces boyfriend who got a burger. And it was pretty good but nothing you couldn’t get at another steakhouse for about 3 times less money. The thing that frustrated me the most was the waitress suggested a wine and I asked for a glass per her suggestion. Then she tells me it only sold by the bottle. Of course I know I could’ve turned it turn but it just felt a little tricky as a way to get you to buy a whole bottle of wine. Thankfully the others in my group decided they would drink that as well so in full 4 of us shared this bottle of wine…that was not really that good at all. And then to top it off, my mother and I were halfing the bill, and when my mother filled out the tip, it was already included in the price (I’m sure 18% or so) but it still asked at the bottom of the bill if you want to tip and had a place to fill it in. My mother ended up double tipping the waitress by accident. Our bill would’ve been $100 cheaper. We had eaten at moonshine in Austin earlier that day downtown and the food was WAY better and WAY cheaper. For views, we’ve done the Oasis and it’s better view in my opinion than Steiner. In the end, it’s a luxury restaurant, and yes it has a good view. But I felt a little deceived on the tipping process and the way the waitress sold the wine bottle. Just little ways for them to rack up more money on an already crazy expensive place. And the food was just okay but nothing you couldn’t get elsewhere. I feel there are so many other options to choose from that I can say we will prob never go back.

Steak was insane! Service was great, live music, incredible view! Very romantic place and worth the money.

Double Birthday Celebration Nightmare Dinner We booked a table for 7 people on August 10 at 7:15pm to celebrate both our son and son-in law’s birthdays. The reception was like a circus when we arrived at about 10 minutes before our booking time, and we checked in at the desk. After waiting patiently until 7:30pm we asked when we would get seated and we were told it would be a few more minutes. 15 minutes later we asked again for a timeline and were informed that there was a glitch in the booking system and another party was seated at our table, and they were working on a solution. Another 15 minutes passed and still no table so we asked to see a manager. Jason came to assure us they were trying their best to accommodate us, but they were waiting on a couple of tables that were on dessert, but it could be a while. Although Jason was reasonably apologetic he made no effort to placate the inconvenience of waiting 45 minutes; not even the offer of a round of drinks while we waited. I suggested that some drinks would help with the wait, which Jason was about to organize, as the table became available, so we moved to the dining room, 60 minutes after our booking time. During our 1 hour wait we discussed calling some other nearby restaurants to see if they had availability, but we agreed to stick with it; BIG mistake! The first round of drinks, which Jason offered to comp, took another 20 minutes to be served. Appetizers and entree’s were ordered and the appetizers arrived in reasonable time, and the quality was as we would have expected. I had been looking forward to the prime rib, but Stephen, our server informed me that it was sold out, which, if we’d been seated in time, would not have been the case! We all finished our appetizers, salads and soups at around 9:15pm and ordered a bottle of Stag’s Leap Cabernet to accompany our now highly anticipated steaks. The bottle was drained, as were our glasses by 9:55pm, but no entree’s had arrived from the kitchen! At this point our patience was definitely wearing thin, so I asked to see Jason, but I was told he had gone home (lucky guy!), so another manager, Steven, arrived at our table to deescalate what had become a very tense ordeal, rather than a pleasant double birthday celebration. He offered to comp the appetizers, which was appreciated, but he completely missed the point that it was 10:00pm, our entrees still hadn’t been served and it was way passed our grandson’s bed time and certainly way too late for him to be eating dinner! Steven’s disinterested demeanor and lack of eye contact was the last straw, so I told him that he should consider comping the whole meal, to which he replied that he wasn’t authorized to do that. I asked him to find someone who was, but we never saw him again after he left the dining room throwing tray stands into the corner of the room and crashing around in a rage! The entrees eventually arrived a little after 10:00pm but way too late to eat and enjoy, so the food was all boxed and bagged to take home. The final bill for this disastrous evening, even after the first round of drinks and appetizers being comped was still $822 (including 20% tip), over $100 a head! We reluctantly paid the bill and left with 3 bags of ‘takeout’ steak dinners!

Our experience at Steiner Ranch was amazing! The food was so wonderful! Our server was very attentive, and the manager Steven even stopped by to greet us! We will be returning soon.

So very disappointing. Taken there for my birthday dinner and was served an absolute low grade tenderloin (the end piece butterflied and we specifically asked it not be butterflied and received a low grade-not nearly a prime cut or choice cut of prime rib for my husband). Server was mediocre and had to comment on our choices and wasn't too attentive. Refused the birthday dessert as we couldn't even choke down the low qualify meal served which was sent back to fix. Go to TruLucks or Eddie V's if you want real quality and great service. Never again at Steiner Ranch Steakhouse. Longhorn steakhouse is a better value. Hey Steiner Ranch Steakhouse -Don't try to fool those raised around providing high quality beef to restaurants.

Arrived at 5:35 for our 5:45 reservation. Without waiting we were escorted to our outside patio table (stunning views). Prompt service for cocktails. Excellent server, Joe and an attentive staff. Comfortable about of time to look over the drink menu, appetizer selections, and main course. Celebrating a 43rd anniversary with family and was truly impressed. Live entertainment that was great without being so loud you could not have a nice table conversation. Food came out with a beautiful presentation, tasted as good as it looked. Shared 3 different appetizers, all delicious. Our main choices ranged from the Cowboy steak, filet mignon, ribs, salmon to halibut. Dessert was brought out on a tray with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate. A scrumptious bread pudding with bourbon sauce and fruit. Absolutely a perfect evening and will definitely be back for more. Thank you Steiner Ranch Steakhouse for a wonderful time. Thank you server Joe for you attention to detail, and personal service.

First time to try the STEINER RANCH Sunday BRUNCH BUFFET and our family was impressed. TIP - make reservation for 10:00 a.m. get there at 9:40 a.m. for parking and wait a few minutes. Worth it. Atmosphere is very nice. Lovely staff members welcome you at front desk. Another appoints you to your table. Sun room is very pleasant. Not too many tables and not loud. Fantastic view! Food selection is fantastic. All is very tasty! Stuffed french toast with a light cream cheese middle was top of our list. So much to choose for all. There was ample meats, salmon, egg dishes. Even a carving station and omelette station. Very busy though. Desserts were great. Waiter was superb and polite! White table cloth and white napkins. If you are in the mood for a delicious Sunday brunch, try STEINER RANCH. On holidays, ie. Christmas, Mother's Day - Sunday closest to those dates are more. You will not be disappointed. Clean, happy place for couples or families. There were lots of small children as well.

The view at sunset is fantastic. Always leary of places with view, but the food was knock your socks off. Band also allot of fun. Wait staff wonderful.

Great atmosphere, and great view of the lake. We sat on the outdoor patio and enjoyed, Adult beverages and great appetizers

Stopped in here my first time visiting Austin on vacation my server David was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. I decided to go with the A5 waygu ribeye, it was one of the best cuts of meat I’ve ever had. He also recommended the Alpha Omega to pair with it. All around it was a fantastic experience. Will be returning next time I’m in Austin.

If you want a great variety of Prime steaks this is the spot!! Hands down the BEST steak we ever tasted . We ordered our server Bradley's recommendation the chateaubriand and it was cooked how we wanted it. Mashed potatoes and asparagus were well seasoned. Service was outstanding. He was very attentive. Atmosphere was cozy and inviting. Celebrated our anniversary , they even served us complimentary bread pudding. He took a picture of us and made our evening a memorable night. Highly recommended. Definitely going back. Don't forget to get the lobster butter and lobster mac n cheese. Thank you Bradley and Steiner for making our experience special.

You will need reservations, but well worth planning ahead, the food was delectable, but pricey...hey you get what you pay for applies here! We sat in the piano room, next time we will try the patio or the sunset room...and there WILL be a next time!!!!

You go here for the views & ambiance, not the food quality. It’s mediocre at best. I’ve tried this place 3 times, each time hoping the last time was a fluke. It’s not. Their mashed potatoes should be called plain Jane. Nothing was stellar & it very much should be. The wait staff is great. Views killer. Meh food.

Are dinner outside. It was perfect. Loved the view and great live music. Food was excellent. We both had steak- very tasty. Prices are on high side but truly worth it. Service was spot on - present but not overwhelming. Bread pudding at e d was delicious. Go at sunset the colors are fantastic.

The restaurant is set atop a hill overlooking the travis lake. So you can imagine the beautiful views and the sunset was breathtaking. The hosts were helpful and nice. We didn't have a reservation, but it was a slow night so we were avle to be sat without issue. I will make sure to make a reservation next time. The food was all phenomenal. The steak I had was the best I have had in a restaurant! We were sat on the patio and got to listen to the band play which we really enjoyed. Our server JJ was just as amazing. She gave me a recommendation for the hickory smoked ribeye and it did not disappoint. She was attentive and helpful. We will definitely be back again! Highly recommend!

Food was good but nothing to rave about. The fried avocado appetizer was very disappointing. Our steaks were what you would expect from a steakhouse but not spectacular. All of that I could have put aside but the service was horrible and they don’t seem to care. Our appetizer sat on the table for 10 minutes before we could flag someone down and ask for flatware. Our food was brought out and our waiter disappeared no drink refills not to see if everything was alright nothing. We finally had to flag down another waiter yet again to close out our bill. I emailed the restaurant after our meal to let them know about the service and never heard a word. If you want to try an amazing steak house with superb service Taste of Texas is top notch! I would not recommend Steiner Ranch unless you want to spend $160 on a mediocre meal and horrible service.

The outside area is amazing with beautiful lake views and live music. The food is amazing; crab cakes, wedge salad and the filet mignon which melted in my mouth. The waitress Erika E. was also fun and attentive. Prior to dinner we stopped by the bar and had cocktails which were strong and good. If you are in Lake Travis stop by Steiner's for a great meal and vibe.

Excellent dinner with the BEST steaks and appetizers. We highly recommend the chateaubriand and Texas Ribeye. Truly amazing food overlooking the lake. Our server Danielle was so attentive and knowledgeable about the menu! We will definitely be back.

This is a great place to at n hag out with the family. Music outside was really nice. This was our 2nd time visiting this restaurant. As soon as you walk n everyone is very nice n the staff is so kind. Food is delicious.

Decided to eat here for me and my wife’s anniversary. The Food was great and good service! Awesome view from the patio of Lake Travis.

Its lovely however you can eat as good cheaper without the formality of Steiner Ranch, that's not to say it's not worth a visit but for my money there restaraunts as good that are cheaper so it's all a matter of what your looking for..fine dining steak formal or good steak informal it's a choice

Dinner there was sold to me as a special experience. Well, the view is beautiful indeed. We got a full house that evening, but service was fine. Good cocktails, good beer. Our starter was a bowl of queso (great nachos), and it was nothing short of amazing. I tried the elk, which was perfectly cooked. There was a band playing some classic rock stuff, not bad. It was a cool dinner, for sure. But it’s a lot more expensive than I imagined. Really pricey. If that’s not a problem, the Steiner Ranch Steakhouse is a fine pick

We celebrated our anniversary at Steiner ranch steakhouse for dinner. Charles was very knowledgeable and the food was great!

It was so wonderful. I had such a great Y'all are amazing!!!Great food, great waiter. The staff there is incredible. Don't make us feel so special thank you so much for the wonderful memories and great food!!!

It was very foggy and so my husband dropped me off at front door while he parked the car. A very courteous patron went out of his way to open the door as I entered the restaurant. I was the only person in the lobby except for the 3 staff behind the counter. I was greeted with “May I help you?” Well, you don’t come upon this place by accident, it’s in the middle of no where. I am dressed nicely and wearing Chanel Mademoiselle.. so I don’t smell either... I reply to her that I have a reservation and she asks me my name. Then, she gives the Menus to the other woman and I am told to follow her. I reply that I would like to wait for my husband. It was literally less than 3 minutes when he came into the lobby. Then the male hostess said “Are you ready now that your husband is here?” Whatever, I am thinking we are here for our anniversary just ignore the rudeness. So they want to set us next to the very loud piano. I politely decline and ask for another table. Mind you there are many open tables this evening. She then uses her ear piece to request another table. I request a table vs the booth she wanted to put us at bc I am 5 foot tall and the booths would have swallowed me. She talks back into her ear piece saying “”She” doesn’t want to sit there.” So our waiter was amazing and the food/wine was very good. My husband had the shrimp and I had the salmon. It is very dark inside so the menus are lighted. I wish the weather would have cooperated. I read the reviews on the amazing views here. We are from out of town and wanted to have a nice dinner before went to see the Hamilton Pools the following day. I would recommend more kindness at the front desk, it will go a long way.

While Steiner has great views and good food, they are not a place to go if you have a special occasion. ONCE AGAIN, yes I said ONCE AGAIN, their attitude and lack of honoring a reservation will ruin the mood. I made reservations for 4, three days in advance, for a Thursday night at 7:30pm to celebrate my son's graduation. I shared with them that this was a special occasion. We a few minutes ahead of our reservation. We were made to wait over 50 minutes AFTER our reservation time even though we told them that we would take whatever was available. The front desk needs management attention. This overbooking, unconcerned attitude ruined the mood. Go to Steiner when you have plenty of time and nothing special to celebrate. They will NOT treat you special.

Great servers and fancier than I usually dine. It was still casual with a great atmosphere (and sunset). The chicked fried elk was good and came with mash potatoes, which they are known for too.

We had a fantastic dinner. Charles was a fantastic server. Arturo was very knowledgeable with helping us pick out the wine. We will definitely be back.

Food is decent but definitely not worth the price. The atmosphere can be fun with the view and live music, but I feel its more successful due to lack of competition as there are truly no good restaurants within miles of this area.

Food was great and the service was even better! Amazing experience! Next time we are here we will definitely be back! Highly recommend trying this if you are in the area

Beautiful restaurant, view is spectacular, and great quality food. Service is ok. Band plays live and it is nice.

I flew almost 2500 miles to attend an 85th birthday party celebration at this restaurant. The setting, high up on a hill with a gorgeous view of Lake Travis at sunset, is worth the visit alone. However, the food was simply divine as well; the service informative, attentive and top notch. The entire evening was a wonderful experience. My dish of the three beef medaillions, was simply succulent. It was a very busy Saturday evening, at sunset, so the ambiance was a bit noisy, but that was to be expected. IT is a truly unique dining experience. You need to go at least once, and certainly many more times, if you have deep pockets. Value of such a dining experience? Priceless!

dropped in for dinner and weren't disappointed. Sat outside and enjoyed a great view of the lake. Had three courses, all of which were very good. Our server took on board how we wanted it served and got it spot on. Desert portions are definitely meant for sharing I think!

This spot has a very nice view perched on a hilltop above the lake. But, you pay for the ambiance. Expensive. Average $180 per couple. (With alcoholic beverage) It’s all in what you like though. My husband and I went for the ribeye. My idea of a Texas “ranch Style” steak is a nice flame kissed steak. I was wrong. I only like my ribeye flame kissed and it was not! It was tender, flavorful but not what I prefer in a steak. And I prefer a baked potato with my steak. They only have French fries or mashed potato’s. The crème brûlée was a waste of money. I would go back possibly but not for the steak or crème brûlée. Maybe the seafood…….

I have dinner here often and my server is always Scott (highly recommend) The product quality is consistently outstanding, exceeding my expectations every time!

Amazing service and management, food was amazing and I enjoyed every second of my experience. View is also gorgeous!!!

Gorgeous views of the Austin hill country with delightful servers.... It is a steakhouse and you will pay the price but if you have a special occasion, worth considering.

Visiting Austin and were looking for a local steakhouse, saw mixed reviews, but thought we would give it a try. For the prices we were expecting a more upscaled dining experience, this is not what we experienced. The dining areas were loud, so much so that it was difficult to talk to people at my table. Customers in jeans and ratty T-shirts. The service was slow, we were there for an hour and a half and they only refilled my water once despite it being empty for over 45 minutes. The French onion soup tasted like they got it out of a Campbell soup, can, but didn’t follow the directions for dilution, super salty, and concentrated tasting. The only reason I gave a two stars and not one was my son said his ribeye was very good. Will not return.

JJ was amazing! The food was great, we ordered the rib eye special, there was a perfect sear and a sweet drizzle - YUM! Love the patio space here, amazing place for a grate night (and for us a cool spot after a day on the lake).

The place is beautiful, and the view is terrific. Priced on the high end, but not ridiculously high like so many fancy steakhouses. Drinks were good. The wine bottles are definitely expensive. Service was friendly and helpful. And, yes the bread is really good. But, there were some issues. We showed up in time for our reservation, but we still had to wait half an hour to get a table. Food took forever to to get prepared. We all had steaks and they were nothing special and they were all overcooked, which is amateur-hour cooking. We were told how special the beef is, but we've all had much better elsewhere. In fact, the food was mostly just above room temperature. Our server kept taking silverware and knives and then forgetting to replace them. All the while she was constantly up-selling us on more wine ( we didn't want any more wine), and dessert (we didn't want any dessert). There are too many other steak joints that are much better than this one.

The steaks are always perfect, Mac and cheese side was great. Small detail, but the Cesar salad dressing with anchovies was delicious. Service dog friendly. The Sunday buffet is a wonderful opportunity to stuff oneself with prime rib. This time we went early on a Tuesday and got great service and food.

Been here many times before and always spot on for steaks. Tonight was a bit of a let down though. It was packed so I believe the cooks were in a hurry to serve. Our prime rim was ordered as medium rare was actually closer to rare. It was a little tough and fibrous.

From Chicago; was in Austin week of April 22, visiting our daughter and she suggested this restaurant. Food was excellent; service (server) Daniel was amazing; had complete knowledge of every appetizer and main course and delivered his vast knowledge with humor. Great atmosphere. A little pricey but you get what you pay for, and this restaurant was excellent. Highly recommend.

Food was amazing!! View on the outdoor patio is gorgeous & JJ our server, was also wonderful!! Loved our time here & highly recommend to anyone!

My husband and I joined my sister to celebrate my nephews birthday. There were 8 of us including a toddler and we really enjoyed a nice leisurely lunch. It isn’t a buffet now because of Covid, but the waiter was very prompt to bring us everything we asked for. The service was slow but maybe this was because of the new restrictions. Everything we ordered was very good and everyone seemed to really enjoy their meals, including the toddler! I definitely want to go back soon! Beautiful views from the patios - next time maybe we’ll dine outside!

The view is great But the food is not good I ordered steak it wasn’t tender at all , 42 dollar steak I thought should be good but it wasn’t hard to chew and my friend order salad she wasn’t happy either but I love the view except food , I don’t go there anymore I wish when I enjoy the beautiful view I could enjoy my food too

5 out of 5 for menu items and beyond excellent service from our server - ask for Scott G., he 100% made the experience truly unique and special!

The Sunday brunch is amazing. The selection is great and the cream cheese stuffed french toast was the highlight.

Really cool venue with great views and atmosphere. Steaks were excellent. Very extensive wine list. Service was good too. Recommend the lobster butter.

The overall experience was amazing. Food was excellent. Our server, Matt went over and above. I recommend it to anyone wanting the best steak of their life :-) And while you’re there look around…. Amazing pictures, memorabilia, and just beautiful things to see…. As well as the beautiful view.

This place was one of three reservations I made for Saturday Feb 15th. I explained to Michelle, as I did the others, that we needed a table for seven plus a high chair at 5pm. (we had friends visiting from out of town). She proceeded to inform me that there was no more space inside, but outside was available and that we could sit next to the firewall and put. And, it had a great view of Lake Travis. Only because a friend had recommended this place, I decided to go with this restaurant. Little did I know I would regret doing so.We were running late and called to inform them about our tardiness. The hostess informed me that our reservations was for 7:30pm. And that they did not have a table outside for us. I asked to speak with a manager and Jason informed me that they would build a table outside for us but it wouldn't be by the firewall. Upon arrival, my wife said she did not like the area our table was located. Our table was "buit" in the back noisy corner (not very romantic).I asked to speak with Jason. We stepped outside and asked him why he thought we would show up two hours before our reservation? I also proceeded to inform Jason of my complete dissatisfaction of the entire situation. I then asked Jason that I would leave it up to him to do what he felt was right to make sure we left happy. Apparently, Jason didn't care how we left. I expected maybe an appetizer, dessert or at a minimum a table visit considering the situation. For that matter, I saw no table visits outside by a manager. Being a busy weekend is a lazy excuse. I have been a manager in the Food Service Industry for a long time and holiday times are when a manager should be visiting the tables the most. The food was descent, but certainly not at the level the reputation this place boasts itself on. Our friend ordered a med rare steak and half of it was cooked properly. The cheesecake was not as phenomenal as the server described. I would be hard pressed for a return visit and most definitely not recommend. I give Steiner Ranch Steakhouse one horn out of five for an overall dining experience (because that's what we got).

We made a 6:30 reservation and watched the sun set our entire meal. Everyone from the greeter, our waiter, Kelen, and everyone in between went above and beyond to make our evening special. The steaks were phenomenal, seasoned and topped with perfection. We had the chocolate chip bread pudding for dessert, and it was amazing! The Texas sunset was the perfect backdrop. We highly recommend spending your next special occasion here. We will be back!

We had several service issues. The main problem was my mother ordered a $17 appetizer for her main course because she wasn't very hungry. The server came back and told her they were out of the appetizer and said the closest thing was one of their specials. Well, that special was $99. We were shocked when we got the bill. It was disappointing that the price was not disclosed when it was a $80 difference. For an expensive steak place the service isn't up to par. We were served dessert without spoons to eat it. We had to wait while our ice cream melted.

This was our 4th time dining at Steiner ranch. This was our Anniversary and birthday celebration. I always get the Prime Rib and my husband gets the ribeye steak. My Prime Rib was very tough and had no flavor and the Asparagus was very over cooked.. I sent both back and the prime rib the second time was better. But still no flavor like all the previous times I’ve had their prime rib. Husband ribeye steak was tender but had no flavor. My husband said his Longhorn steaks had more flavor! Flemings steaks are much better as well. We were seated on the 2nd floor dining room. Which was very quiet and intimate.Loved being away from the crowd. The service was good! We will not be back food seems to be going down hill.

Decided to take the family out after a few cold days. The food here was incredible as well as the view and atmosphere. What really stood apart was our service. It has been awhile since we've dined somewhere where the waitstaff was so attentive, knowledgeable and personable. David was great. He helped us explore the menu as it was a bit overwhelming at first. We also learned so much about wine from him during our visit ! We had 8 years in the dessert which was fantastic. We cannot wait for our next visit ! Will be requesting our server again!

Not mentioned that juice was not included in $19.95 price and was $2.89 extra. Food was excellent but most of it was made with milk or cream so had to be very careful and made a mistake on that with one of the sauces. Nothing was explained so none of us noticed meat station away from rest of buffet until we were leaving. We sat outside but was still cold with overhead fans blowing full force.

Great location and view, comfortable dining area, superb service and food. Ribeye was done to perfection and sides were great. Everything a good steakhouse should be. Live music was fun, too.

Had a lovely experience at a holiday party. The staff was friendly and attentive and the food was spectacular. Thank you!

We took our family of six to the Steiner Ranch Steakhouse for brunch last Sunday and, oh brother. We made a reservation days in advance, we get there and they make us wait for 25 minutes for our table. Then we get seated upstairs, but the brunch buffet is downstairs. So when you go to get your food, you have to go up and down the stairs, with people going up and down, with your full plates. I complained to the manager and he gave me his best smirk and said "Sorry you feel that way," which he repeated over and over again. I told him this was unacceptable and a little while later he said he found us a table downstairs (?). At this point, everyone had ordered their drinks and we decided to stay where we were, mostly because we were all perturbed and didn't want to deal with more hassle. The manager shrugged his shoulders and turned on his heels and walked away. No apologies, no nothing, so unprofessional. To make things worse, the food was so bad (cold, unseasoned, rubbery pancakes, hard-boiled eggs Benedict, just inedible) we couldn't eat a lot of it. At $25 a head, I expect something nicer but honestly, I've had better at Denny's. So this Mother's Day, do mom a favor and take her out to brunch, just don't take her to Steiner Ranch Steakhouse. She deserves better.

Went for dinner and had a fabulous experience. Our server, JJ was so friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was so nice. I highly recommend Steiner Steakhouse for anyone seeking a delicious meal in an environment where atmosphere and hospitality is just as important as the food.

Valet parking is available and reservations are highly recommended. There are several dining areas including outdoor overlooking Lake Travis and in the large bar area. We usually eat here once during our visits to Austin and usually have great staff except this time. I don't know if she was new or just had too many tables but service was not as great as normal. Regardless, it was our 50th anniversary so we enjoyed a beautiful table, relaxing piano music, great wine, delicious steak and a free banana pudding dessert. Later, we took our wine to the outdoors and enjoyed the guitar music and watch the sun set over the lake.

One of our worst experiences at SRS to date. Let me say up front, it was a normal evening dinner crowd… not busy! But we did hear from the staff that they were already sending waiters home when we sat down at 6:45pm. Service 2 stats… JJ was our waitress, missed a meal course when serving, brought the wrong bottle of wine, attentiveness came and went, charged for a dessert we didn’t want. We had a guest for a birthday, didn’t want the gratis bread pudding usually given for a birthday, just wanted a couple of scoops of ice cream. Got the bread pudding anyway, and charged for the ice cream! Food 3 stars… very little lobster in the $12 a pop “lobster butter,” several toppings way too salty (very common at SRS!), entrees served after appetizer… kitchen out to lunch, we missed soup and salad, steaks were OK, but also salty, mash potatoes unremarkable, bacon wrapped scallops small, stuffed shrimp undercooked, topping salty (a theme emerging), other sides blah!. They push the $35/$25 PER OZ wagyu steaks… cannot be worth it with as poor as the food is in general. Even a great cut of steak cannot overcome poor presentation, just glad we didn’t get suckered into the wagyu! Wine List 2 stars… exceptional list, outrageously priced. Thank goodness I recognized the waitress brought the wrong bottle to the table before she opened it. Would not have enjoyed the battle over not paying for what she brought! A very subpar meal at an over the top price. The value simply is not there for the cost. Skip dinner, go to the brunch, drink water or tea. Thanks the only value to be had at SRS! Cannot recommend anything else. PS Jackie did a great job on the piano, but too loud for the small dining room, we couldn’t hear the waitress!

Had 7:30 reservations. We were sat at 8. Ordered fairly quickly and ate at 9:30. The Mexican martini was missing tequila. The bottle of wine took 30 minutes. If they don’t have staff, they should turn people away. Very disappointing. I chose the restaurant so I feel like we let down our friends.

Our hostess, Sienna Fleniken did an amazing job seating our party in a good location. She was very sweet and friendly. I would come back again.

This is a classic steak house with amazing views of Lake Travis and fabulous service. I was visiting family and stopped to have a glass of wine at the outdoor bar. We decided to stay for dinner and I am so glad we did. The hostess staff need more training (seated us next to a large, boisterous table in an otherwise empty Room) but when we spoke to the waiter, he moved us to another room with a great view and it was not even in his section. Erica was our server and she was amazing! We had perfectly cooked petit filets and shared the salad with hearts of palm. Expect a classic steak house menu well executed with overall excellent service.

The views out the window were gorgeous. Spouse and I split a Chateaubriand for two and it was total perfection, as were the sides. Wine was pricy at $75.00 a bottle and the food was pricy too but it was worth it! The wait staff here were all impeccable. If I could give this place a 10, I would. You'll need a reservation.

Great atmosphere, especially the patio view over the lake! Bar scene is nice and live music makes it even better. Side orders are amazing but i not impressed with their steaks and I’ve been there a couple of times with my family of 5 meat eaters and we all felt the same way…plan on 100 a plate.

Our family has eaten here many times. Tonight I ordered a filet medium rare. It was at least medium but more medium well if you compare it to pictures. I told the waitress about it and she said that is how they cook it. I have never had one here like this. She obviously didnt know what she was talking about. Very disappointing.

A beautiful location overlooking Lake Travis. Wonderful cowboy decor. They have an outdoor deck where a small band was playing. We ate indoors. Both wife and I were disappointed in our meals. She had flounder with a sauce, I had the beef short ribs. Flounder was oversauced. She ended up scraping it to the side. The Short rib needed a sauce, it was dry, stringy and lacking much flavor. I suppose we should have ordered steaks. The couple with us enjoyed theirs. The molten cake dessert was heavenly. Oh, the meal was spendy, but about what you'd expect from a really nice steakhouse with cocktails.

We celebrated our 5th anniversary last night. My husband purposed to me here five years ago. Our server Bradley was amazing and nice enough to allow us to go up to the floor upstairs where my husband purposed even though the floor was closed so we could take a few pictures. Steiner will always be a fond memory for us.

When in Austin this restaurant is a must. Overlooking a body of water, that is serene, with a great menu of a variety of offerings, and GREAT atmosphere. The lobster mac and cheese is the "BEST" in Texas.

Very good, good portions, server Tony was very nice & on it! I would say a little bit overpriced for what it is but the view & live music made up for it. We would come back if we lived closer.

Although we ate inside, we toured the outdoor area afterwards and were kind of disappointed that the hostess didn't ask if we wanted to sit outside. As tourist, we stumbled upon this place through TripAdvisor because our first choice was too crowded. I would recommend it for special occasions.

We had a banquet last week for a family member getting married. Was the most beautiful experience. The staff was great and Anthony helped keep everything smooth. Strongly recommend this place for great food and perfect rooms to accommodate any occasion.

Charles is such an amazing server. So knowledgeable and really knows his wines! Definitely recommend him if you’re looking for 5 star service!

We’ve attended Holiday parties and dined with friends here before and had good experiences. Sadly, this Saturday night was the opposite. Our reservation was at 6:30. Around 6:35 they took us to the elevator to the 3rd floor. The waiter didn’t come to our table right away, but that was OK because we were catching up with friends. He took our drink order. When he returned (longer than expected), my drink order was wrong. He corrected it, then brough yummy yeast rolls and OK cornbread/biscuit. We ordered dinner around 7 PM. The four us started looking at our watches around 7:30. We couldn’t find our waiter, so my husband found another waiter and asked for help. Nothing. At 8:05 my friend went to a corner of the restaurant that was two tables away from our waiter who was waiting on another table. When the waiter walked toward my friend, he told the waiter we had been waiting an hour for our food and wanted to speak to the manager. The waiter apologized with no explanation and about 10 minutes later it arrived. Most of the food was warm including expensive steaks! You could tell the potatoes had been sitting for a while – they were ‘hard’ on top. The lobster mac and cheese was the ONLY hot item. The she crab soup was thick and gross. Didn’t taste any crab. It was more like potato soup. Crazy for me to think it would be as good as the soup in Charleston. The female manager came to our table shortly after our food arrived. She was like a high school cheerleader! She was overly sweet and animated while looking at four unhappy people. Know your audience!!! She offered to bring us ‘new / hot’ food, but what the heck? We had been sitting there for two hours by then!!! She should have given us a gift card for our next visit or taken a meal or two off the bill. Instead, she offered us free desserts. So the four of us ordered dessert to go. Wanted to get the heck out of there! Our rear ends hurt from sitting so long!!!

We had a much better experience at Steiner Ranch this visit. Still not 5-star, but much improved. Food this visit was the buffalo quail legs appetizer. The dish would have been much better if the buffalo sauce was served on the side with the gorgonzola dressing. The excess sauce on the quail legs made the breading soggy, not crisp. NY strip and grilled snapper entrees were both very good. Steak was cooked perfectly, the fish was a nice size, adorned with a nice portion of lump crab. Sautéed mushrooms were delicious. Plenty of leftovers! Nice visit!

We were in a private room where conversation was easy and distractions were minimal. The menu choices were limited but certainly varied - with choices from NY strip to Filet. The salads were small, which was a good thing as the entrees were large. I requested no mashed potatoes as they are made with cream and the waitress thoughtfully left the butter off my steak as well. Everything was excellent. Would definitely go back when it isn't raining so as to enjoy the view of Lake Travis.

I heard that this place was good and my wife wanted to try it. This place was a hot mess. They welcomed us for our first time visiting and wished us a happy anniversary, but from then on, it was pretty much all downhill. Our waiter was competent at serving us, but we were not getting his full attention all night. I ordered the steak and crab cake, which was served WITHOUT the crab cake, for some reason, so I spoke up and had to wait about 15-20 minutes to even taste it. It was mediocre, so I became annoyed but didn't want to complain. Our steaks were both $50 and not very juicy or tasty at all. My wife told me hers was dry so we asked for some **A1 steak sauce**, as if we were at Luby's. He completely forgot this request, and well as refilling our drinks, for about 15-20 minutes while he chatted with his only other table about real estate. So, we sat there on our anniversary night, with no drinks, dry steaks with no A1 steak sauce, and a waiter who was not concentrating on his only 2 tables. Literally, we were pushing our food around, feigning smiles, listening to him talk, while waiting for some service. I cannot recommend this place, as it has been tainted now for me, but the piano player was pretty good. Maybe it would be okay some night for a drink on the patio, but otherwise a poor dining experience with fancy illuminated menus and COVID-era servers.

WE had reservations and arrived early; but we were not seated until one hour later than our reservation. They put us in a smelly room they had just opened. Our steak was overcooked and tough. Managers were rude. A couple of months before we were served terrible Calamari. Prices are just much too high, but servers are decent.

Had reservations for 8pm and was perfect timing to watch the sun set over the hill. Steak was very good, had the peppered steak. Very pricey as expected but great for special occasion. Was a bit noisy and hard to talk at the table as we had a large party sitting next to us. Something everyone should do at least once.

This restaurant was amazing. The view and the service were top-notch. Danielle, our waitress, was fantastic. She was personable and took really good care of us. I will definitely come back!!

Food was delicious. There are a lot of options to choose from. Michael was friendly and attentive. I will be definitely returning

My uncle and I went here for brunch with a friend of ours. We enjoyed the variety of options to choose from. The service of the staff was amazing. We will be coming back again.

This was our first time at Steiner Ranch Steakhouse. The brunch was outstanding. I'm particularly fond of the Lobster Macaroni and Cheese. Another amusing surprise were the helicopters landing in the parking lot...now that's arriving to Sunday brunch in style!

What a way to celebrate an anniversary - 46th to be exact. Having wanted to try this steak house for years, this was a perfect opportunity and well worth the 40 minute drive. Charles, our waiter, was attentive, friendly, funny, and incredible. We started off with the Mexican Martini’s and Queso…there was enough chips, salsa, and queso for 4 people! The steaks and sides were up there with the best I ever had! Portions are very generous. To cap it off, the surprise break pudding dessert - yum. We will definitely be returning.

Went there for our anniversary. Food was delicious and our waiter went above and beyond. Josh provided us excellent service throughout our whole dinner

I went here on the recommendation of my son who lives in Austin, who had heard a lot of good things about the restaurant. The physical setting of the restaurant, especially as the sun is setting, is really nice. The views are splendid, and also the best thing about the restaurant. Simply put, the food and the service at this restaurant are not on a par with the better steakhouses in Austin and elsewhere in Texas. Quite often, our server seemed to forget about us and disappeared for long periods of time. It took a long time to get his attention and then even longer to get our order taken. We were on the table for almost an hour when our soups arrived and we were not even nearly done with the soup when our entrees arrived. One of the steaks was requested to be cooked medium rare and it came medium well, probably because it had been sitting for a while (it was not hot). Side dishes of mashed potatoes were not hot, either. Our server acknowledged that he had messed things up so you would think he would want to make it right which he tried to do by offering us a free dessert. Unfortunately, it took about 25 minutes to get the dessert and it was nothing special. We just wanted to get out of there. I would recommend going for lunch or dinner and booking a table outside, and ordering more casual food. The steaks are not worth it as they are not nearly as good as some other steakhouses in Austin and elsewhere.

Pom was our server in the glass room, and she was behind phenomenal. Food came out at a timely manner as well. Definitely coming back again.

My hubby and I visited for our 30 year anniversary. The food was spectacular and the view was phenomenal. Luke was our waiter. He was wonderful and so sweet. Our evening was so special. We will definitely be back.

Excellent as Normal. EXCEPT this time it was Even Better due to the wonderful service by TIM. He went above and beyond for our party of 6. A great asset to the Steiner Ranch family. Looking forward to our next visit. We will definitely check on his days off before planning our next dinner party.

Great food, in a beautiful building, with awesome views, served by a friendly, enviting staff ... all makes for a very memorable experience. An obvious choice for special occasions! While it can be expensive, it's proportional to the quality of the food and setting, but it doesn't have to be. Ribs for example is $23. They have an excellent Happy Hour with very reasonable prices for food and drinks. The elegence and view are a bonus. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time at Steiner Steakhouse. Steaks were superb and there was a wide range of other options for other guest who enjoyed seafood selections offered. Our first time visiting Austin, Tx and our server, Bianca provided an exceptional dining experience. We look forward to our next trip back.

Food is just so so. Waiter was rude. We had a large party of girls who didn't order much. He was clearly pissed about an all appetizer table.

View and sunset was absolutely stunning! Food was amazing and our server, Bjon was simply Wonderful!!! Very personal and attentive! He was awesome!! Bjon made our night so very special! He is an asset to Steiner Ranch and deserves a huge raise!!

Appetizers are especially good and generous. Steaks pricy; but there are many choice alternatives. Will be back!

I had the 10 oz filet mignon and My wife had the 7 oz "smoked" filet. I recommend the Brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes. We had an excellent bottle of wine and the service was excellent. We would definitely go back again. Just bring your big boy wallet... plan on $200 + if you're having dinner, drinks, & dessert.

Riza is an amazing bartender. She made my night so much more enjoyable. Any restaurant or business would be lucky to have such a great worker like her. The food here is amazing ans comes out very promptly!! The live music is a vibe and we will be back!!

Steiner Ranch Steakhouse is Austin's best spot for a romantic dinner with all of the trimmings. My gorgeous, remarkable wife and I sat at a heated table outside overlooking Lake Travis. The wine list is diverse and fairly priced. The prime rib is so good that it should be criminalized. We also shared the asparagus topped with crab. Our waiter was attentive but Joey, the service assistant, went out of his way to make our anniversary special......great kid who will own his own business one day. No other steakhouse in Austin is even in the ballpark.

We had a group of 13. We made a reservation about a month ago. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were told that we would have to sit at two separate tables. WE balked and they offered us a large table outside, which we reluctantly accepted, only to later discover there would be loud guitar music (rock n roll and blues). THAT is NOT what we wanted for a Christmas gathering of friends. Food was good. Service was sub=par, especially for a restaurant where we spent $1700. We will NEVER go back

Visiting friends who moved here 5 years ago. Upscale restaurant. Food and service was excellent. The view was amazing, and we even had a lightening show in the distance. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening.

I had wanted to go here since they built it so I chose it for our anniversary last week and was disappointed on a number of counts. There were five of us and they put us at a large round table where we couldn’t communicate with the people with whon we were dining without speaking very loudly. I was backed up against a large velvet curtain, Which in order to walk behind my husband I had to back into chairs on the other side of the curtain. I guess I have gotten used to having space between tables due to Covid restrictions so it felt uncomfortable having to walk between close tables, In fact one other diner offered to get up to give us more room to get out. Regarding the food, it was mediocre at best. I enjoyed my wedge salad and the bacon on top was perhaps the best thing I had to eat. I ordered the medallion trio which had too many flavors going on to taste anything. My husband ordered the prime rib which pretty much didn’t have any flavor and quite a bit of fat and gristle. He was asked if he wanted a baked potato or Mashed potatoes without being told that there was an up charge for a baked potato. My daughter ordered a special of the day which was Seabass with scallops and brussels sprouts. She said it was very good but we were not told that it was being priced à la cart, $49 plus $13 +2 dollars.. She didn’t even really want the scallops and would certainly have opted out of those if she had known she was being charged $13 for them. My grandson got chicken fried elk which he had gotten before and loved it. He gave us all a taste of it and we also thought it was very good. The sunset, which we had to walk among tables to go see, was delightful. We would have enjoyed sitting next to the fire out on one of the patios as well.

My family and I came to Steiner ranch to celebrate my brothers birthday and had an amazing time eating are wonderful steaks. The servers were fantastic, super friendly and had great recommendations will be coming back all the time.

Food desreved 4 stars but Unfortunatly, waiter deserved only 1. Food was very good but we were disapointed with the service. In my opinion when we spend that much for a dinner the service should have been significantly better. Simply lack of attention from our waiter was unacceptable. All other staff were excellent including bar staff / sommelier and food deliver staff. Highlights of why we feel this way: Water glasses never refilled even after requesting/ one of our salads had to be made twice since we asked for no cheese and it took FOREVER / I had to get up and retrieve salt and pepper from another table / got our own fresh ground pepper / asparagus appetizer had to be requested twice / the leftovers of the sauce flight we paid extra for did not make it into our to-go container even after specifically requesting they be placed on top of steaks we were taking home (I was willing to do this myself but he insisted. I expect this with any quality restaurant but considering his lack of attention elsewhere I was a bit suprised) / we asked for dessert menu and after waiting 10 min for the menu we were just ready to leave. Our bill did not have our bottle of wine but did have the asparagus he said he was going to comp. We quickly let him know since that was a very costly mistake on his behalf. In my opinion he simply was not attentive. We were a party of 7 and had reservations so they should have been ready for us. The private dining room we were in had two other occupied tables with 3 and 4 guests so not sure if he was crazy busy elsewhere but still no excuse. This particular visit was not worth the money we paid for the service we received.

we visited Steiner Ranch Steakhouse last week, It was fabulous! Our waiter was great, very well informed about the entire menu. we missed the view. It was dark when we arrived. I would highly recommend this steak house. The restaurant down the hill was too crowded and this was MUCH better! Filet mignon and a cowboy steak!

Went for brunch this past Sunday and weren't disappointed. The food was very good. Served hot and fresh. Plenty of selections. Service was great also

I made reservations for my husband's birthday and am happy to report that Steiner Ranch Steakhouse exceeded my expectations. The setting itself is lovely... on a hill overlooking Lake Travis. We were seated on an outdoor patio at our request to listen to live music. Even in summer, the patio was comfortable thanks to misting fans. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious! I had the filet and hubby had the ribeye. Both meals came with yummy mashed potatoes and fresh green beans. For dessert, we shared the flourless chocolate torte. I was not drinking but there was an extensive wine list. The ambiance was wonderful in the evening, as we watched the sunset over Lake Travis and enjoyed live music. We thought the prices were reasonable for an upscale steakhouse. Highly recommend!

Stopped by SRS today for a mid-afternoon quick bite (had forgotten about our last visit to SRS on a Sunday, after brunch, before dinner! LOL)... much better experience today! :-) The view is always great! The complimentary bread was spectacular, fresh out of the over, nice butter on the side. Roland was our waiter, and he did a great job. We were in a bit of a rush, and between us ordering simple things and Roland keeping the kitchen hopping, we were finished in plenty of time. Thanks Roland! We kept things simple this visit... Beverages were a couple of glasses of nice bubbles! The food began with starting with the buffalo quail legs. Nice presentation. The sauce on the legs was more like a sweet BBQ sauce than a true spicy buffalo sauce. The blue cheese dressing provided for dipping was terrific. A bowl of she crab soup and a wedge salad followed, and both were very good, and we enjoyed sharing, as always! It was a good meal...!

Amazing quality and variety of foods. Easy to access the various buffet tables and service is prompt. Especially likes the smoked salmon, omelette bar and peach cobbler with hot brandy sauce. <3 <3 <3

House Special with 10oz filet includes crab au gratin and 3 big shrimp is a great meal. I would order it over and over. Very nice setting and surroundings. Great service. Desserts were outstanding.

Steiner Ranch Steakhouse is a gem! Charles, our server, was outstanding—his wine knowledge was top-notch, and his pairing suggestions made the meal even better. The steaks were flawless, and the vibe was perfect for a night out. Can’t recommend it enough!

I have never left a review on a restaraunt and wanted this to be my favorite place as I love the views but each time I find a discrepancy in my bill and upcharging. Tonight out with friends, we thought we'd give it a second chance. My friend was going to order the Mexican Martini but realizing it was $25 she was going to change her mind. The waitress said that she'd give her 2 for the price of one and she could share with us. So she ordered it. At the end of the evening, we planned to order a glass of wine with dessert and when we asked the price of the wine, the waitstaff said they'd check then came back with wine and said don't worry about the cost, it was on the house! We were very impressed and thought they redeemed themselves from previous experiences. WRONG! The bill came and the Margarita that was supposed to be $25 dollars was $75 dollars! When we inquired about our bill they said they gave us the wine for free so we should be ok with $75 for what was supposed to be $25. So deceptive! And this wasn't the first time. Check your bill before you leave....actually don't even go.

Had such a wonderful date night here! Enjoyed a fantastic meal starting off with the crab stuffed mushrooms, next was the raw oysters that were so fresh! We finished with the Texan Ribeye with lobster butter and my wife had the medallion trio! Our server Charles was attentive and very well versed on the menu! I would go back in a heartbeat! Definitely recommend!

Stopped by Steiner Ranch Steakhouse for a mid-afternoon lunch/dinner, very disappointing ... Jesse, our waiter, was awesome! Let me say that upfront... maybe it was the time of day, but there were no menus with the hostess, no wine list, no cocktail list, all were seemingly AWOL, and it took almost 15 minutes to get the menus. We had several specialty cocktails, a bottle of wine, it was a hefty tab. That said, much of the food was a miss... the chicken fried lobster tail, was over cooked. An expensive Wagyu filet was very salty, as was the sauteed mushrooms served on the side. A tortilla crusted flounder was "over-crusted" more cornmeal than fish. Perhaps it was the lull between Sunday brunch and dinner, not sure. In any event, for the price you pay at SRS, everything should be on point. A very disappointing visit!

Beautiful restaurant. Spectacular views. Champagne and roses package icing on the cake at our favorite local steakhouse. Wonderful service throughout the evening. Smoked ribeye was delicious. So good i booked it again this year.

Outstanding experience from end to end. Waiter was excellent, recommendations were spot on and delicious. Steak was made perfectly and an excellent cut of meat. Beautiful view and nice music. Would go there again anytime!

We celebrated two birthdays at Steiner Ranch Steakhouse and it was fantastic. We had a great experience with making a reservation and having a table inside with an incredible sunset view. For a July night we made a reservation for 8pm and it was perfect timing. (The outside area looked great as well and had a live cover band playing. The only downside to the outdoor area was the people going out to take sunset pictures right next to a couple’s table) Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We were not overly hungry because we had a big lunch so we decided to share a steak. They split the food for us at the table. Birthday desert was bread pudding and it was really good. I don’t usually like bread pudding but that was great!

My girlfriend and I came here for the first time and we were not disappointed. The Red lighting Ribeye was a perfect entree and we finished it off with a triple chocolate cake for dessert. Our server, David did an excellent job, he was very knowledgeable of the menu and attentive to our needs. We will be returning soon.

Great services from Anthony and great steaks. Well be back for brunch someday soon and look forward to it. What an experience

Service was ok. Food horrible. Longhorns steakhouse which is a chain, has better steaks. Overpriced. Atmosphere very casual. Wouldn’t go back.

This was our first visit to Steiner Ranch Steakhouse and really enjoyed our meal. We sat in the main dining room and enjoyed watching a rain storm move over Lake Travis and then a beautiful sunset. Everyone had a different cut of steak and thumbs up for all. The sides are adequate but not special. The cocktails were excellent. The place is pricey but when you leave you feel that it was good value and that you will make another visit.

We were invited to a company Christmas party, and my girlfriend is vegan. We had zero expectation that they would accommodate this, so my girlfriend brought an incredible burger from Burger King. We were in a private room made for about 40 people tops, away from the majority of the restaurant. This absolutely antagonistic jerk in a suit (I’m guessing he was from security) came in the room to specifically say that he was taking that burger out, because it is the law (it isn’t), and it was quite clear from his “peacocking” that he planned to do so by force. Seriously??? Strongly caution participating.

I HIGHLY recommend Steiner Ranch Steakhouse. My Fiancé and I drive a little over an hour, every year for our anniversary to have dinner here. IT IS SO GOOD! We usually always get the porterhouse and lobster mac and cheese because OBVIOUSLY lol! Their porter house is always cooked perfectly with a delicious fat cap sear. The Lobster mac and cheese is honestly the best in ALL of Austin. HANDS DOWN! We have always had amazing service from Steiner ranch steakhouse. This past visit tonight was the BEST visit ever. Our server, Chase (in the sunroom) went above and beyond. He knew the menu front and back. He let us know in great detail what options they had available for tonights specials. His recommendations for drinks, sides and entrées were impeccable. He was extremely friendly and welcoming. With it being our anniversary, he was super personable and congratulatory. He made a great night even better than we could have ever imagined. Truly went above and beyond in all aspects of his job. Our glasses were never empty. The meal was paced perfectly from appetizers to entrées to desserts. We were never left waiting for anything. After years of fine dining, This is the standard that I will hold future servers to. My fiancé and I will always and only request Chase from now on for the many amazing years to come. So glad that there are still kind, well mannered, hard-working people out here.

Loved the food, loved the service of Sienna Fleniken. We are Europeans and we were pleasantly surprised by the service in the US. That is probably because of the tipping system, but this time it was really outstanding.

We enjoyed this very Texas restaurant! The food and service was great. This place was hoppin'. Beautiful view on the outdoor seating area. Good gluten free options. Definitely coming back to this place.

This place says Texas with cowboy flair, Austin hospitality and First class views, service, drinks and food. Love this place for fine dining "the cowboy way" The only drawback was a less than pleasant greeting staff when we first arrived. We almost left, but are glad we didn't.

We had a spectacular view from the sunroom of the restaurant, although the host tried to seat us inside. The oysters Rockefeller were just OK, at $16.50 1/2 dozen, the wine very young (2017), my fillet overcooked. But it was replaced, and the rest of the meal was delicious. Don't miss the memorabilia room as it's quiet impressive.

Food was delicious!! Charles, our waiter went above and beyond to make the experience special. Heade great recommendations for both dinner and wine pairings.

A great place to celebrate a special occasion. Staff were pleasant and attentive. Our wait staff made excellent recommendations. We had a mix of seafood appetizers- lobster, shrimp, sashimi. Salads were very good as well. All were fresh and delicious. Mains were a wide selection of meats. Our steaks were cooked as requested. All were tender and juicy. Sides were mac & cheese, broccoli and asparagus. Portions were generous. Desserts were well worth the extra calories. Excellent service and good food to celebrate a special occasion!

This is a fine dining place. The food and service deserve the higher prices. With some luck you can get a table with a very nice view of Lake Travis. By all means try the steaks and never pass up the lobster mac and cheese. Even the dinner rolls are special. When you're having a special night with your SO, or trying to make a great impression on a new person, this is the the go to place in the area. Live entertainment is almost always top-notch. The dance floor is very limited however, not really set up for progressive dancing like Two-Step. I highly recommend SRSH for good food and wonderful service.

Our son made us reservations when we came for our first trip to Austin. Wow, I am so pleased he did. The atmosphere and the view was fantastic. Our service was top notch because of JJJ….she was friendly, smiling, very knowledgeable of the menu, appears to love her job. She made perfect suggestions for appetizers, wine, entrees. The steaks were some of the best all three of us have ever had, but then, I did have the Kobe cut. I cut my entire steak with a fork. Pricey yes, but YES it was worth it. We will definitely return the next time we visit, and I will definitely request JJ for our server!!

Had such a great experience celebrating my birthday this weekend! Our server was very attentive and informative and our steaks were perfect! Charles was an excellent server. We will definitely be back soon!

We had the Calamari, it was awful. The She Crab soup was good. The wedge salad was sub par, the medallion trio could’ve been a meal served in first class on a domestic flight. Pretty embarrassing quality for a renowned steak house. The mashed potatoes were watered down & flavorless. Seriously disappointed. The views were pretty though.
Meh
There is a lot left to be desired for this Texas steak house and their white table top service. Would I consider a second date with Steiner...that’s a hard no. But, I did hear that on a summer afternoon they have a band playing on the porch. Some Austin tunes set against a TX sunset and a pretty lake...that may we worth a second chance.
