I was at San Antonio for a wedding and a local friend recommended this bar. Me and two other friends went to visit it after the wedding. The person who received us was rude from the get go. I had a weird vibe of overconfidence and acted like he was annoyed with our presence. After our order was taken he made a joke about us taking it slow and brought us water “to sober up”. Rude at once! Even if we were drunk - which we were not- I expect manners in a bar of this category. We didn’t want to make a scene so we ignored it. After a round the bar had to close because it was getting late. Our waiter (not the rude individual who initially accommodated us) offers us a final call. We ordered a round and were drinking it when this individual (Rob or Ron I think) came in the most impolite way again and stated we had to hurry up. I told him “sure give us two minutes please” even when I was already tense by his attitude. His reply was “you guys have two minutes and that’s it”. The answer and attitude was so shocking that my brother replied to him “excuse me??, who do you think are you talking to...am I your kid?” The waiter started an argument and said if we didn’t like it he would just take our drinks right then and he did...(???) SHOCKING! I am a 47 yo physician. I don’t need to be disrespected in a bar by a rude, socially incapable individual. Worse is, I asked to talk to the administrator who came and answered to our complaint “I have to support my staff”. We were full of indignation but again didn’t want to make a scene so we just told him how opposed to service was their attitude specially for a bar and hotel of this category (the bar per sé was very nice) and that we would complaint and review it. This individual should be working on a dive bar where he can pick fist fights with other people of his low caliber. I am still nauseated remembering the event. It was a violent, insulting situation and we felt assaulted and incapable of defense. Even the administration who should be wise to maneuver this kind of situation was unprepared and impolite. Shameful. The other clients were all shocked at the scene and while we discussed with the administration the waiter was still taunting me from behind. Lowest dive bar scene. To the owners please change this two individuals before the name of your establishment goes down.

The aesthetics alone in this cosy, upscale cocktail bar are worth a visit, but the well-mixed fresh drinks will make you stay awhile. The ambiance on a recent Friday night was busy but not obnoxious and the clientele was well-dressed and of mixed ages. Lovely nooks, couches, and a reservable mezzanine make this a fun place to explore with friends or a date.

Impress your out of town friends by bringing them to this unique space. Every kind of drink imaginable. A post industrial decor made from the actual guts of a brewery. You will feel like a ranch owner making a land deal while having drinks at this bar.

Very nice bar built in the old Pearl Brewery. We sat in one of the old "holding" tanks which has a large whole cut into the side of it and it is converted to a seating area for drinks. Did not eat, but had a few beers and a drink. Beers are reasonably priced, mixed cocktails are expensive ($13)

On a busy Sunday early afternoon we opted to have a bite to eat. We shared a salad, lamb meatballs and green tomatoe appetizers. The waiter described the beers we chose and his description was right on! The food was delicious. My favorite was the lamb meatballs, sauce, flavour excellent. But I would also label the other two choices as my favorites also! Sat upstairs at a counter where it gave us a view of the whole floor. Neat leather, industrial decor! The whole experience was fun.

Love Sternewirth Bar and Hotel Emma! It’s the best place in San Antonio to meet friends before or after dinner, or I guess you could hang out here all night- that would be REALLY FUN! 🎉

My wife and I heard about Hotel Emma from a friend so we showed up and had a couple of drinks at Sternewirth. The drinks and service were excellent and the setting was fabulous. We will be back!

Great whiskey selection, my wife loves their French 75s. Can be a little loud but well worth the atmosphere.

There are many little places to sit and enjoy a drink. It's not your typical bar because it has the ambiance of the Emma.

Happened to walk into this bar after dinner and really loved the experience. If you go make sure to ask about the three Emma’s it was a really fun story and our server Anna really brought the drama to life. Overall it was a great time and much more than we expected

The room is comfortable with large couches and good chairs. A great place to people watch and hang out with friends. A large drink selection and professional bar staff.

The award-winning industrial design and Decor make this high-end bar a must-stop when anywhere in San Antonio or Central Texas. They have craft cocktails made by mixologist bartenders and amazing Texas craft beers. The multiple seating areas create an intimate atmosphere where they have great live music and is always a good place to people-watch. It is located in the Pearl Brewery District and there is a lot to do all around this bar. It is attached to the hotel Emma which is an amazing destination.

We were walking through the Domain and went through the Hotel Emma and stumbled upon this gem. We were so enthralled that we invite our large party to meet here prior to going to dinner for a few drinks. What a great time. The bar had an extensive selection. The ambiance is outstanding as is the decor. Service was quick and efficient. Make this place a must do stop if you are at the Domain.

Another must-do when in San Antonio. Hotel Emma is divine, and Sternewirth Bar is no exception. Great service and staff, excellent wine and cocktails, plus their spicy peanuts are pretty great too. The hotel vibe can't be beat.

One of the most incredible looking bars you’ll ever experience. Inside of the old pearl brewery they made this place one of a kind. Delicious drinks and Pearl beer of course.

This place is very cool. Every tiny detail has been meticulously placed to create one of the cooler atmospheres to have a drink in San Antonio. The had a pretty good beer and cocktail list and we had a great time. The staff was friendly and we had a great time.

Stopped in to have a drrink and to get out of the heat...Absolutely world class design and appeal...great service..huge variety of cocktails...ambience is worthy of any Michelin grade restaurant/bar...definitely go again and again.. ;-)

You have to see it to believe it. Located inside Hotel Emma in the Pearl District in San Antonio is one of the coolest reclamation projects we've ever visited. Hotel Emma is an award winning hotel for how they transformed a vacant brewery into an amazing hotel. Talk about character. The bar is amazing - not only professional staff, but the feel of maintaining the old characteristics of the brewery have to be seen. If you're in the area - even not staying at the hotel - do not miss a visit here.

We went here for some drinks and conversation after work and boy was I blown away by the vibe in the bar. The decor, lighting, and seating were all very welcoming. The only down side is the drinks were quite expensive, but I know it is attached to the #1 hotel in San Antonio so that is to be expected.

This is a very busy place but the service is outstanding. It seems the staff is totally focused on their task at hand - the drinks are liberal - a nice touch and the mark of quality bar. The appetizers are excellent - the smoked salmon is one of our favorites. This is a great place to meet people and to start the evening out on the right foot!

I really wanted to like this place. The comfortable couches, the cool vibe of the re-purposed building, but--no. Arrived to meet my part at 6:35 pm. they had already ordered drinks. About 10 minutes later, waitress takes my drink order. Their drinks show up. 10 minutes later, 20 minutes after I arrive, my drink shows up. It was watery, which means it might have been good if it was delivered when made. This is a bar-15 to 20 minutes to deliver a drink is ridiculous and hardly in keeping with what one expects from a super-premium hotel.

Every drink was great. Gained a few pounds while here as I wanted to keep trying more of the cocktails they made.

This was such an amazing stop! We had the best waitress who suggested a drink called a 404 which was wonderful! The appetizer was delicious. Best of all was the service - the customer service was outstanding! People were so friendly so nice and we weren’t even staying at the hotel!

A night out with the ladies and this is the cool place you want to be. Sitting by the fireplace in some nice chesterfield leather couch drinking a glass of wine. The staff was great, snacks were tasty and we can’t wait to go back.

Loved the atmosphere here. We hit this place before a food tour so did not eat much … but would love to return and have a casual -leisurely dinner!

Was a little chilly while on a long stoll with my honey and dog. Stopped in to warm up and have a beverage. Loved the atmosphere and location.

Lovely bar in the Hotel Emma! We had margaritas and sat on the comfy couches. I love the industrial chic decor - and how they kept a lot of the old original parts of the brewery but updated it. Beautiful place and great service.

Incredible bar and enticing space, this is the place to be to grab a few drinks and relax. The food and drink selections are tempting and divine. The staff in Sternewirth goes out of their way to make guests feel welcome and pampered. Special shout out to Dominique, as well as Gary and Malena - thank you for taking such special care of us.

The bar area is a nice place to sit and meet people, if you can find a seat. Weekends are tough to find a spot. They have a good selection of drinks to choose from. It takes a while to get the server so you may have to be patient.

Drinks! Get drinks and then more drinks. Sternewirth martini and Texas old fashioned are highly recommended. You will need them to put out the fire of the delicious spicy peanuts!

Renovated Pearl Brewery is the coolest. They have paid attention to every detail. This bar is part of the Hotel Emma You can choose Fromm their specialty cocktail list, beer, traditional drinks or tell one of the talented bartenders what you like and they can create a drink for you Fun for couples, young professionals, girls or guys night out. It’s for all. And it’s super cool and hip. Not inexpensive

We recently went on a weeknight for drinks and starters. Our first impression was a resounding WOW!! The decor was fascinating. Lighting was low, and made the decor rich in appearance. Many examples of the large equipment used in the old Pearl brewery was incorporated. Two round seating areas (resserved) were inside huge brewing tanks. Very inviting seating by the fireplace (also reserved) were noted. A small gallery hall upstairs had a few tables overlooking the rest of the bar below. Very picturesque and photogenic areas were throughout the bar. Even the choice of furniture pieces were thoughtfully placed, including leather chairs and sofas, and period chairs. Unfortunately, the libations and bar fare were generally disappointing, and not in keeping with what should be served in a unique, full of history, and beautiful bar setting, within the otherwise excellent Hotel Emma. This bar is obviously a huge draw among locals, business meetings, and hotel guests. Much room for improvement in food and drink, if implemented, would make this bar without a doubt one of the best in the world. We ordered the Roasted Garlic Parmesan Tater Tots. Our first bite seemed to have the slightest "frozen" whiff, but not noticed in subsequent bites. The Tater Tots had a similar flavor to Ore-Ida brand, without as much breading. Very average for a starter dish.. We also ordered two other starters- the Duck Confit Meatballs (tough, mixture probably handled too much before cooking), and the Bratwurst Patty on Toasted Bun (a good flavor, somewhat dry). Both starters came with chips. The chips served with one of the starters had a definite scent of some herb. When we asked our server, we were assured thar both chips came from the same source. Collectively, we tried several different margaritas, as well as a sidecar. All very acceptable, but only average. One bartender came over (upon request), and discussed how the sidecar might be made better. He did try to make a few tweaks and the last sidecar was better than the original. We extremely enjoyed the decor and atmosphere in this bar. I would suggest offering a more extensive menu than starters only, as well as a critical evaluation on what changes might be made in food and drink served, to make this a world class experience.

Fabulous decor with intimate seating areas, located in The Emma Hotel in the Pearl District. We tried the “Three Emmas” cocktail and heard the tale to go along with it. A unique and fun experience!

We love this place. The bartenders are amazing! Their drinks are delicious and are true craft cocktails. Everyone behind the bar are nice and take time to talk to you. You will not be disappointed in this bar. Be patient-it takes time to mix craft cocktails!

Went here on Friday and got the La Babia Margarita along with the tattar tots. The drink was good and the food was better than I had imagined.

Fantastic setting within an amazing hotel and surrounding area. Highly recommend a few drinks at this bar.

Great bar in the Hotel Emma. Cocktails, wine and beer selections are very good, well prepared, and the setting is comfortable - spacious and fun.

This is likely the finest space for a bar that I've seen and the bar and food is terrific. Service was perfect.

Dramatic interiors, very hip vibe. Reserve one of the booths in a former tank if you have a group. Bartenders are talented - let them wow you with a perfect rendition of your favorite cocktail. The Cosmo's were beautiful and went down way too easily! Also - we had live music - a solo guitarist was the icing on the cake.

We stopped by after dinner to have a few drinks while traveling on business. There seemed to be a couple of bachelor/bachelorette party going on so things were pretty loud. Prices seemed to be pretty high, but I guess I wasn't surprised. The atmosphere was really nice with plenty of industrial architecture.

Sternewirth Tavern at the Pearl is a must-visit for those who appreciate a refined yet rugged atmosphere. Nestled in the historic Hotel Emma, this bar blends a club-like ambiance with a touch of Western charm, creating an inviting space that feels both upscale and comfortably Texan. The soaring ceilings, leather seating, and dim lighting set the perfect mood for a night out, while the expertly crafted cocktails—like their signature Three Emmas—add a sophisticated flair. Whether you’re sinking into a cozy banquette or gathering around the massive repurposed brewery tanks, Sternewirth delivers a unique blend of history, elegance, and frontier spirit.

When friends come to town they always want to come to this bar and each time they are disappointment. The Hotel Emma is beautiful as is the bar but the bartenders are pretentious and the drinks are over priced. It’s hard to find a place to sit in the bar therefore you often can’t even enjoy the atmosphere after waiting in a long line for a drink, putting up with non-friendly bartenders and over paying for drinks. And the bar closes at midnight so be sure to start drinking early or have one drink for the experience and move on to another bar nearby where the bartenders are friendly and the drinks are worth the price!

But way overpriced drinks! Both had similar undertones and were not worth the high price. Waitress short changed us then avoided us. I guess maybe she took her tip since we were one drink round only? Very poor to have employees that treat customer that way

The drinks were good, but on the afternoon we were there, it was almost impossible to find a seat anywhere and no one was on the floor to help. Don't expect a nice quiet place to unwind, especially on a holiday afternoon.

A great use of an old building, and an incredible space for the bar!! Very comfortable setting with furniture to match. The wait staff is very attentive, the cocktails and snacks are top notch!!

This is the most comfortable, interesting bar I've ever seen. The drinks are great, the staff is professional and the ambiance is perfect. We had dinner here one night, and the food was excellent as well!

This bar is such a good gem. The atmosphere at night is fun and slightly sexy. It's dark and I love the bar. The drinks are nice and will cost you at least $13 dollars. It's a beautiful place and with a wonderful smell!

This is a great place to have a drink after walkingbthe Riverwalk from downtown San Antonio. Prices a big steep but the drinks are great. Nice atmosphere and a stunningly beautiful bar area. Very comfortable leather chairs. Even better in the winter sitting by the fireplace. Afterwards there are tons of restaurants all around plus a good one in the Hotel Emma

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding Experience All Around! Just had to share how incredible this place is! From the moment we walked in, everything was absolutely perfect. The atmosphere is so chill and welcoming - exactly what you want when you’re looking to unwind and enjoy some quality time. The service here is truly A+ level. Kara went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of throughout our entire visit. Her attention to detail and genuine care for guests really made the experience special. And wow, the cocktails! Justin and David are absolute masters behind the bar. Every drink they crafted was perfectly balanced and delicious - you can tell they really know their craft. Whether you’re in the mood for something classic or want to try something creative, these guys will deliver something amazing. If you’re planning to visit on a Sunday, you’re in for an extra treat. Joel’s music selection is spot on - creates the perfect soundtrack that complements the whole vibe without being overwhelming. The people here, both staff and patrons, are wonderful. There’s just something special about the community this place attracts. It feels genuine and welcoming in a way that’s pretty rare these days. Honestly can’t recommend this place enough. We’ll definitely be back soon

The gem of the Emma Hotel and anchor bar of the Pearl District, all paths lead to Sternewirth. Industrial, post-industrial, retro cement works, it's very well appointed, large long couches make introductions to strangers easy, or to take possession of for your entourage. Great place to start your night out on the town - or mid-day river walk. No food, just spirits and a few drafts. Priced to match boutique hotel experiences.

Friends back in Arizona told us to be sure go the The Pearl District and have a cocktail at the Hotel Emma, and we did, here at the Sternwirthe, located inside the hotel. Cool, cavernous place, popular and packed. We each had some swanky mixologist-made cocktail. Mine was called "Vanity Pear". I forget what was in it...brandy, crushed ice like rice, something creamy, pear-infused liquor, mint...served in a stout hurricane glass. There are lots of fun places to sit in this big tavern-- long tables, small tables, sofas, groups of seating. I loved the cushioned curving sofas inside two large industrial tanks, looking like their own little clubhouses. Those were unfortunately already occupied the entire time we were there. Cool place, a bit pricey, but worth the visit.

What a cool place located off the lobby of the Hotel Emma - outstanding service and eclectic decor. Plenty of couches and different seating areas spread out in an open space.

The Pearl District in San Antonio is exactly what the name suggests; a hidden gem in a gentrified industrial area. Beautiful urban landscaping with creativity and passion revived the 19th century brewery. Foodie people would find everything whatever they might be looking for. We were fortunate to find the Sternewirth Tavern. The interior designer bravely used old industrial reliquaries to decorate and increase functionality. An old malt tank was converted into a private chamber, the used to be elevator created a snug little place in a dark corner. Tasteful furniture was offering comfortable seating for a friendly chat. The catchy tunes of live music made us want to stay longer despite fatigue ...alas the place closed at 9 pm. Our expectations were set very high however the food was rather bland. The hummus was dull and dominated by the harshly roasted nuts, the Brie cheese was unripe and tasteless, the ceviche was soaked in mayonnaise. The drinks helped us to forgive this hiccup and the pleasant manner of the staff made our night unforgettable. Thank you very much San Antonio

The whole area is amazing. And they converted this brewery to a very unique bar with interesting design and great cocktails.

I'm really surprised that this bar doesn't have more reviews... we were here last week, its located inside the Emma Hotel in the really great up and coming pearl district area. If you've been here but not actually inside the hotel, I highly recommend it, it's quite spectacular and quite honestly one of the most unique bars I've ever been to. They kept the rustic features of the old brewery so they have seating inside the big tanks, big comfy couches, low sexy lighting and even the manager came by and introduced himself. The service was professional and friendly, the cocktails were unique and reasonablly priced and we had this quirky appetizer: fried cauliflower and brussel sprouts which was sweet and hot at the same time and was laced with freshly popped popcorn. Quite a taste sensation. I could sit there all day.... totally relaxing and if you need a great date spot to really impress, this would be the place for sure.

Absolutely stunning bar! You go in, seat yourself at one of the many comfortable seating areas (tables/chairs, leather couches, chairs, etc.) Menus are provided at all seating areas. Expansive list of cocktails, beers, wines and liquors. Some food is available also. Server will come to you or you may go to the bar yourself. We had the signature cocktails-Three Emmas and the signature margarita. Delicious! Also had the meatball appetizer and the chips and crunchy bean dip. Service was fabulous. Bar is something to see and should be a stop when you are visiting San Antonio. It’s located at “The Pearl” (shopping and restaurants) inside the beautiful Hotel Emma.

Top 5 most gorgeous bars I have ever been in and that’s a lot. Rustic, comfortable, regal, but historical as well. Pieces from the original building. Drinks were great, local beers, and attached to the Hotel Emma, which everyone should check out. Did get sat a terrible table at the entrance because they were saving seating for larger parties, but I guess I understand.

Visually stunning from entry to exit. There is great history about this property, so please take time to ask questions if you're interested. The servers are happy to share that insight. The service of very tasty bar beverages (great menu selection) was both timely and accurate. They have a few items that are somewhat rare at other bar locations. Thanks, Sternewirth (and server Emily) for a great afternoon stop to enjoy an adult beverage. Completely enjoyable and extremely easy to recommend to others. It's not your standard bar by any means. Unique in all the right ways. Go!!

We always take our out of town guest here. Skip the Riverwalk...it is such a tourist area. The Sternewirth Bar at the Hotel Emma is a great place to have a fun time. They have a seasonal drink menu which is always good and not your average cocktail. They have a small menu, but the choices are very tasty. The only downfall is the waitstaff is limited and it does take a while to get a drink or to be waited on. So if you are in a hurry you better go somewhere else. They would get 5 stars if they had better customer service.

Great bar in the hotel. Really interesting place. Good service. Plenty of sitting on couches and old beer kettles. Worth the trip to see

This is probably the coolest hotel bar I’ve ever seen. Nice seating, great vibe from the fellow customers, good snacks, expert drinks. A little expensive but that’s to be expected (and frankly not out of the price range for this type of place). Some (and I mean some, not all) of the staff have an arrogance about them that can be off putting. We were there twice. The first time the waitress didn’t seem to have much time for us even though it was in the afternoon, not that busy, and seemed fully staffed. The second time was in the evening. It was packed and they have a reserved section for hotel guests. When I asked what is was reserved for, the manager (or manager apparent) said “hotel guests”. I said, “perfect, can we go up?” Then he asks without looking at us if we were guests, eventually letting us up. Fifteen minutes later we still haven’t seen a server and I have to come down and order my own drinks. Even with the less than stellar service moments, it was still a great bar. I’d just say order your own drinks from the bar (you can do that) and find a seat on the main floor. Definitely worth the stop in.

We went here for cocktails at the end of the day. Visiting San Antonio on business. The whole entire area is fantastic and worth a long visit. The bar itself is top notch, so is the liquor and the service. Relaxing as well.

The decor of this bar is fantastic. The Hotel Emma did such a great job renovating the brewery. Lots of seating areas with couches, leather chairs, a small bar, fire place, and cozy booths created inside two of the brewing vats. Very good entertainment nightly - we enjoyed a talented young jazz singer accompanied by a classical guitarist. Definitely enjoy at least one beverage there.

This is the place to take someone who appreciates a good mixed drink in a really swanky bar. Great bartender with a menu of just about any drink. Wine list good too. Try the cheese and charcuterie plate as snacks. Nice decor and you can hold a conversation.

Took an Uber to The Pearl fron riverwalk area for the farmers market. Chanced upon the hotel and this bar during our exploration and so glad we did Very cool atmosphere, comfy seating from leather sofas to stools... we found a spot upstairs to sit which was great, we could see everything from up there. Did have to buy our drinks at the bar and carry them up due to no service but that was fine. Decor is amazing !!!

Service was great, and the architecture is amazing! Was there on a Monday night and the place was hopping! Was there on business, enjoyed after-hours relax time with colleagues!

This is a beautiful bar located inside the Emma Hotel in the Pearl Complex. The photos shown are accurate. If you like an old-school industrial vibe, this is the place for you. It is really quite incredible and definitely worth the look. The service is great, the drinks are exceptionally well crafted. I've never eaten here, but this is a place for cocktails to be sure. Definitely a must-visit when in San Antonio. I know it is on our list for every visit.

This pub/tavern located in the Hotel Emma has many different seating areas. Ranging from tanks once used at the Pearl Brewery to areas of leather couches. There were also tables both long and short for eating and gathering. We went in the first time to get a bite to eat because we were weary and hungry from traveling. The next times we went in for drinks. The food was nicely presented and delicious.

Hanging with friends at the end of a conference. The bartender was way cool and made a fantastic old fashioned. The large ice cube was the clearest and most fabulous cube I've ever had in a cocktail. Rock on, my brothers.

We popped in the bar at the Hotel Emma while we waited for our reserved dinner table next door at the Boiler House. We only had drinks at Sternewirth because we planned to eat elsewhere. It was very crowded, and we had to hover behind bar patrons until they vacated two seats. But we were eventually seated and enjoyed watching these most professional bartenders work their mixology magic. We ordered our "standby" cocktails: Ketel One vodka martini and Manhattan. They were superbly executed (no one behind that bar needs to be told to never shake a Manhattan) and so perfectly balanced that we each ordered another. This is an expensive bar in an expensive hotel, so we expected a pricy bar bill. Just having a beverage in that physical space is a treat I didn't mind paying for. However, it just seems ridiculous to charge $13 for a vodka martini with $3 of that being vermouth. Really? I've never seen that done anywhere. $6 of our $54 tab came from a light dusting of dry vermouth. On a happier note, this is definitely where the adventurous drinker should go and have the bar staff surprise them with an inventive concoction. I'd wager he wouldn't be disappointed.

We couldn't get enough of this amazing bar. Just go inside and take in the whole ambiance and just genius design. The drinks were also very very good. The food was also very good. Love this place!! Genius on every level. Service was also great. The aged tequila cocktails are the BEST!!!

Great room. Service was just below average. Like they don't want to be there. I get it. I'd rather be served than serve but hey, if you don't want the job don't do it.

Feels like you're in a Harry Potter common room. Large fireplace, leather couches, cozy chairs, unique light fixtures. All about it! Let's talk about the service - the bartender was incredibly kind; multiple staff helped us find a place to sit. We were consistently asked if we needed anything and brought water throughout the evening. We LOVED this bar. We had a margarita, a whiskey diet, and a Lucile's Day Out cocktail. All delicious. Great experience before our dinner reservations at The Southerleigh.

we had drinks at the bar, unparalleled ambiance. and of course the drink selections match this gorgeous venue perfectly. sure to impress anyone‼️

Absolutely gorgeous bar in the former Pearl Brewery… gorgeously decorated using brewery relics, industrial chic, and cozy eclectic furniture. Truly the most beautiful bar/lounge area ever in the luxurious Hotel Emma. Even the scent in the air is enticing (available for purchase in the amazing hotel gift shop). The staff is super kind and knowledgeable and craft a fabulous cocktail. Perfect place to bring friends or for a romantic dinner drink for 2. Bring your wallet as such luxury comes with a price, but worth every penny. Can’t wait to visit again!

This bar has tons of character. It has tables and couches to be comfortable. Super cool architecture and ambiance. The bartenders were very knowledgeable and experienced. They made a great Old Fashioned which is my key indicator on whether the bartender is good or not. I highly recommend this place

Call before you go...I was looking forward to hanging for a bit here, but it was not open. I could see that the space is very interesting - comfortable seating (couches, leather) on several levels. Hope to get here sometime in the future.

Excellent bar in the Hotel Emma... fun experience (but really crowded on a Saturday). Very good drinks and historical decor/atmosphere. If you're a hotel guest, you can sit in the mezzanine level above the bar where it's not as crowded... that's a fun viewing spot!

One of the coziest and coolest places to see how the brewery space has been re-purposed to great effect, especially how the brew tanks have become seating areas. so cool. I am not a fan of heat and humidity, so after several days of touring San Antonio the low light, cool temps and colder drinks here were absolutely perfect!!!
Great drink spot
My wife and I popped in on a Saturday night before dinner for a drink. The bar sits within hotel Emma and has an old school speak-easy vibe with a classier take. Mood lighting sets the tone along with a variety of places to sit - from couches, to booths, barstools or cabana-like nooks. My wife and I grabbed one of the couches and were met by a server who brought us waters and a menu. He was friendly and timely. The libations menu was stout and has something for everyone. I’m easy so grabbed a cold beer and my wife a strawberry margarita. They hit the spot. Def a place worth coming back to!
