Great food! The corn casserole was phenomenal. The turkey and sausage delicious. I loved the old time atmosphere and very friendly staff.

First time visiting Austin, and tried this place based on TA reviews. We sampled chicken, pulled pork and brisket and all were luscious. The place has funky bbq place ambiance, and food was quickly served on a metal tray with paper insert. All our sides were good, but the corn casserole was a favorite at our table. Try this place! Have some brisket!!

My brother lives in Austin and recommended this BBQ place to my husband and me. There was a long line but it moved quick! We also didn’t mind the wait because we made new friends in line. When we got to the counter they let us sample some of the meat before we decided on our order. I got the pork ribs, potato salad, and corn casserole. The ribs were some of the best I’ve ever eaten! And I’m a tough critic when it comes to ribs. I prefer my potato salad with mustard but there’s was so good I didn’t miss the mustard at all! My husband ordered a frito pie And was very pleased with it. The portions are huge, and the price is reasonable. We already can’t wait to go back!

Best bbq I've had in years. I loved the beef ribs. Great corn casserole. Pulled pork was also good. From the sauce to the rub. Amazing.

Visited Stiles Switch for lunch one day after my son discovered he loved BBQ half-chickens. He was not disappointed with the Stiles Switch version, although he would have preferred the fries without seasoning (I will remember that for next time!). I had the brisket, and it continues to be outstanding. The mac and cheese side was great too. I look forward to being able to go back to Stiles Switch on a future visit.

I knew I had to try some barbecue before I left Texas. The woman at the hotel recommended this restaurant because I didn't want to drive too far to one of the ones I had heard about. I was NOT disappointed. The meat was so tender (I got brisket and pulled pork), the bread was soft, the sides were delicious (tot casserole and potato salad), and the sauce was perfect. Every single person behind the counter was friendly and patient (I had NO idea what to get). I couldn't finish it all, of course, but I made a pretty good dent. Excellent meal!

On a recent trip to Austin, a friend and I went to Stiles Switch for the first time. We were immediately put at ease by the friendly service, and the "gimme" samples of BBQ helped us decide exactly what to order. I was tempted to go for a beef rib, but instead chose brisket and sausage. Both were lip-smackingly good, as were the sides: pinto beans and spicy Cajun coleslaw. We were so impressed with the meal and the experience that we returned the following night! The servers recognized us and were genuinely happy to know that we enjoyed our meals enough to make a return visit in such a short time period. Stiles Switch deserves all the positive comments which have been printed and passed along via word-of-mouth. I am already salivating at the prospect of my next meal at Stiles Switch. (Next time I've GOT to try that beef rib)!

Running around doing errands and stopped here to eat. Excellent choice. Plenty of parking but make sure you park in the lot as the “vultures” were circulating looking for illegally parked cars to tow. Grrr Austin’s like that! Anyway this restaurant is 👏 plenty of room tables everywhere, grab a beer or cold drink. Xmas music playing “ hey it’s xmas” fun decor good lighting. Nice and clean. The staff are superb what a nice group of people. Friendly and fun. Very polite this crew have it together. Fantastic choice of meats and casseroles and slaws mac n cheese was yummy! Yep I had Mac n cheese as a side😉 The BBQ tastes and smells delicious 😋 Make sure you visit here if in Austin. The place is busy. And being able to park “ what a bonus in Austin” 3 🍻 🍻 🍻 oops I mean CHEERS Y’ALL

When in Austin for ACLFest, I always look to try some local BBQ via UberEats. Stiles Switch BBQ was selected for its TripAdvisor reviews. I could not have been more disappointed. Read on for details. Simple order: sliced brisket sandwich and a side of pinto beans. The brisket sandwich came with chunks of brisket, many with a char layer overlying moist beef that was pleasantly fatty. There was little smoke and plent of salt. Salt salt salt. Salt ws the predominant flavor to the point where the sandwich was just unpleasant. I'll stop there with that. OTOH, the pinto beans were served in a nice amount of thick, pleasantly seasoned sauce with a touch of salt. As far as bean side dishes go, this one was up there. Maybe the guy in the kitchen scoops up the brisket leftovers for the food delivery services because there's no one in the dining room to actually complain; I don't know see how the sandwich I had relates to the current TripAdvisor rating.

I have had many good bbq meals here. Today, the special was REALLY special. It's the Cuban! Best sandwich this side of Miami. A GREAT blend of ham, pork shoulder, and authentic bun. Keep an eye out, and get yours next time. P.s. big enough for two.

Sunday BBQ after church. Washed down half a pound of brisket with a Japanese style larger. Easier than it sounds. Sides good - although in hindsight should have got more light, fresh pickled style sides as the brisket is pretty heavy work. Recommend. The blokes (and chick) here are legends.

Great pork ribs, Turkey and brisket. Loved the fries. If no line for ordering, then a quick process. We enjoyed the corn casserole.

The best BBQ we ever had! Lovely staff, that lets you try the delicious range of food: loved the brisket, ribs and sausages!

We had lunch at this restaurant. I had the chopped bbq beef sandwich. It was good but very pricey. The sandwich was $10 not including drink or any sides. The atmosphere is very rustic. If you are close I would say try it but don’t drive out of your way.

Very good! I got th 3 meat combo, so much food, o couldn't finish it. Brisket - u cut it w a fork, moist n meaty w very Lil fat. Turkey - juicy n yummy. Jalapeños sausage - not spicy enough for me, still tasty. All th meat had good flavor. Th sauce that comes w th meal is better than th ones in th bottle at th table. For th sides I got Mac n Chesse - liked it very much, very chessy, just missing th crust on top. I also got th corn casserole (Their version of Corn Bread) = excellent, I loved it. Endless soft drinks. Staff was very friendly n helpful, they offered samples prior to me ordering.

This place has amazing BBQ. The meals can be purchased as a meal or you can buy the meat by the pound and share sides and BBQ with the rest of your group. The food is prepared on a porcelain tray and dished out and shared. Great brisket, pork ribs, and sausage.

Stopped for lunch on a weekday while headed home from an event in Austin. This BBQ joint rated highly on the various websites I perused before deciding to stop here - and we do agree! The line wasn't too long and moved quickly. I opted for brisket and turkey, my husband settled on the beef rib which is not easy to find. Side of slaw excellent (two versions available, one spicier than the other), hawg fries seasoned with their pork spice and corn casserole good too. Next time we're in town and are hungry for 'cue we'll be coming here!

My family was looking forward to take us to this place. My spouse and I not impressed with the particular taste of this BBQ. They love it!

AWFUL! This place is extremely expensive and every meat they served us was caked in black pepper. The pepper was so strong it was barely eatable. If you enjoy extreme pepper, this is your place. If you prefer flavorful food that doesn’t have your mouth on fire and leave you sweating profusely then stay away. We will not be back.

Order after you enter so check the menu on the website to speed up the process. You get your food as you order. Nice. Their hawg fries are very tasty. Got a two meat plate: 2 pork ribs and one spicy sausage. Ribs were not kinda room temp and the sausage a bit warmer but both had good flavor. Hawg fries were hot (temperature wise) and just a tiny bit spicy. Come slaw was pretty good. If food was warmer, 5 stars without a doubt. Part of the movie “Dazed and Confused” was filmed here.

We went here sunday at 1730. Since the bbq is on the texas monthly list, i was afraid of the typical Texas Bbq attitude of artificial scarcity to pump up the brand. Places that expect you to wait in line for hours for the chance of buying their meat or ending up with the sausage because thats all they got left. No so with Stiles switch! Only a few people in line. The carver was super friendly and let me pick the moist crusty brisket. He was patient while were were deciding. A wonderful experience. The food itself was amazing. I liked their chilli lime sauce for for fries because the meat didnt need it. Hope to be back soon

HORRIBLE service. We have been going to Stiles Switch for years, and supported it during the pandemic. Today, I called to complain that teh corn pudding was not in the delivery bag. Manager told me I could come pick it up. When I complained, he said “to each his own” and hung up. I also just realized they did not include the beans. Never again. Too many great bbq places in Austin to put up with this mess.

Styles and Switch was recommended by an Austin local as good place for BBQ, she wasn’t wrong it was excellent. Super tender meat and very tasty sausages, great selection of sides. This is the place the locals eat and a great place to eat anytime, but also as it’s close to the airport an amazing place for a departure meal. We also went to Terry Blacks, good but very touristy and crazy noisy. Don’t miss out if you are in Austin and go to this little gem. We felt as if it was all locals, even the cops eat here.

Went to Stiles Switch on a Sunday evening, the lines weren't too terribly long and when you get to the counter it moves quickly. Just be sure to know what you want. Their brisket was tasty, and the pulled pork was moist. Will go back and try other items.

Great intro to Texas BBQ! I had the brisket and pork ribs while my wife had the half chicken. Brisket and ribs were great, excellent pepper rub on the ribs. Chicken was good but not great. Sides left a little to be desired but the focus is clearly on the meat (which it should be at a BBQ joint). Fries and Potato salad were good, we didn't care for the cole slaw or mac and cheese. 2 plates and a couple beers also ran about $60 so just slightly on the pricier side of Tx BBQ as well.

The brisket and turkey were perfect. Corn casserole was unusual but delicious. Beans were also very tasty. Definitely coming back when in Austin.

My brother and sister in law brought me here to get food to take home and oh my goodness was it so worth the wait! We were welcomed with smiles and humor as we ordered what we wanted, and even given a small sample of what was to come later (brisket)! We had brisket, turkey, ribs, sausage, corn casserole and coleslaw. I was trying to figure out how weird it’d be trying to fit a bunch of bbq into my carry on to take home and enjoy later! So much goodness that I’ll be back for more! Or maybe I can convince someone to ship it to me! 🙂

Stiles Switch catered my son's rehearsal dinner after another purveyor canceled at the 11th hour. The food and the service were incredible. We were totally blown away. Portions were huge, presentation was spot on and I cannot say enough about the wonderful and professional wait staff. Thank you, for making the rehearsal dinner a very memorable occasion!

Went with coworkers for a fun lunch and had the brisket with spicy Cole slaw and Mac and cheese - wow! So delicious! I also had the banana pudding and sweet iced tea and I was happily full. Would definitely recommend!

We went mid afternoon on a Saturday. Not crowded. Good food. Tender and flavorful pulled pork. Brioche bun was a great touch. Wonderful brisket. Mac n cheese and corn casserole were delicious too. It wasn't out of this world but I'd certainly recommend Stiles I'd you're in the area.

Let me start by saying I’m not from Texas I’m from Alabama and we have great BBQ there too. I am in the Austin area for a couple weeks for work and I stopped by the Austin Popcorn company to grab some speciality popcorn and I asked them what is the best BBQ in Austin and they told me when they have family in town that Stiles Switch is their go to place for good BBQ I decided to take their recommendation and headed that way. It’s not down town it seems like the neighborhood could be a little sketchy at first but that was only because of a guy waiting on a bus at the corner screaming at no one lol Anyway as soon as you walk in you can tell you are in an authentic BBQ place you can smell the hardwood smoke The crew working there was great at making recommendations I chose the 3 meat plate and I had the brisket, the pork ribs and the jalapeño cheddar sausage and for sides I had the corn casserole and Mac and cheese. I’m going to have to go back for the beef rib I keep reading about. Anyway everything was amazing my favorite meat was the ribs but the corn casserole would be worth the trip alone it was absolutely divine!!!!! You must try this place if you’re in Austin

Its a self-serve, walk to the counter, order meat and sides and take tray to table, and then clean up. Pork ribs were very meaty and good, beef seems a bit dry. There were beef ribs that I wish i had tried, and also chicken. Sides of mac and cheese, coleslaw and beans were good. It is kind of far out from the center, but we were exploring Austin, so not a big deal.

Excellent barbecue. We got a family plate: brisket, ribs, sausage. We added a beef rib. The beef rib was very good and worth the price. The Brussels sprouts were roasted with a sweet teriyaki flavor that we really liked. Pickle onions and potato salad were good also. The service was very fast, no wait when we got there. Also good for gluten, grain, and dairy restricted diets.

Everyone recommends the "famous" places, but we wanted to avoid the hours-long wait, so we chose Stiles Switch BBQ. Tucked into a non-descript building on the side of a major road, Stiles Switch BBQ offered delicious smoked meats and appropriate side dishes. We ordered a 2-meat plate to share, but could have added an additional meat if we wanted to leave *really* full. We got the beautiful, tender brisket and the non-jalapeno link sausage, with potato salad and mac and cheese. Nice atmosphere inside, with plenty of drink options and some cool looking merch, if interested. I tried to buy a jar of sauce, but they were not for sale ... but the nice staff behind the counter ran out into the parking lot as we were leaving and gave us a pint container of that amazing sauce. definitely worth a visit!

Stiles Switch has been on my list of BBQ restaurants to visit. We had arrived at 12:30 on a Saturday. We walked right to the counter and only had a couple of people in front of us. I asked for brisket, pulled pork and we had two different sausages. The brisket was tender with some bark. My wife said the bark was a little too much for her. She really liked the pulled pork. The jalapeño sausage was really good. The sides were good. The banana pudding was very good. When we left at 1:30 the line was to the door. It’s definitely a popular spot.

Trusted the reviews and glad we did! Best brisket we’ve ever had. Tender and perfect. Ribs were pretty good but a little too peppered for my liking. The Mac and cheese is a must have side. Great Texas BBQ!

Off the chain BBQ!! Was in town for 5 days on business and ate here for 3 meals. Brisket is one of the best of eaten. The pork ribs are very good. The pulled pork is excellent. Spicy Cajun Slaw is not for those that cant handle spicy. Pinto Beans w/brisket what not to love brisket in your beans! Can't wait to get back on a Sunday to try the smoked fried wings that are only served on Sundays.

We had a group of 28 in for the F1 races. Who doesn't want Texas BBQ?? There was nothing we didn't love about this place, plus we were spoiled and had the party room to ourselves :). The hostess for our event was lovely and beyond accommodating for our group. If you are ever in the area - EAT HERE! Also don't skip the deserts, I almost did but was soooooo happy I didn't. FANTASTIC!!

We visited Austin for the first time and I was anxious to try some great Texas BBQ. I couldn't get the family to spend the 3 hours at Franklin with me, so I looked at some reviews for other great BBQ and landed on Stiles Switch. It was a GREAT CHOICE! The brisket was melt in your mouth good! I also had the pulled pork and turkey. The pork was as good as I've had elsewhere. The Turkey was incredible! One of my favorites! There was a line that moved quickly and we were eating about 15 minutes after we arrived. We highly recommend this BBQ joint!

We were here for a private party which meant our food was served buffet style. Our choices of meats were: Beef Brisket, St. Louis Pork Ribs, Jalapeno-Cheddar Sausage, or Beef Ribs. The sides were potato salad and coleslaw. Everything was amazing! All the meats were smokey and tender. The beef ribs were enormous! One person took a rib and shared it with 3 or 4 other people. I've had a lot of BBQ in Texas, but this meat was the best, the moistest, the most tender of any I've had! The potato salad had something special in it, also very tasty. The coleslaw was crunchy and flavorful. Since we were having a private party, we also got a tour of the BBQ pit. The two guys were full of information about the process of creating the wonderful meats.

We came here for a great BBQ meal with a large family group. The food was not only delicious, but the owner Shane Stiles offered to take a picture of all of us. We had some bbq aficionados in our group so Shane took us on a private tour of the entire place, including the outdoor bbq pits!

The rating reflects that everything, and I mean everything, is so over-salted some of it is inedible, which is a shame since their Austin location is far more moderate on salt. That said, this Drippin' location has been open less than a week. I expect the kitchen staff is still getting its act together. I hope so. The restaurant is loud, of course, comfortable, manned with lots of excited, smiling faces who were doing a great job serving when we were there. Brisket was very good, and the lowest salted item we tried. Fried shrimp -- very salty. Pulled pork, likewise. Hush puppies, likewise. Good cole slaw. We did not opt for dessert this trip. We'll give them another chance and hope the salt shakers are moved away from front and center in the kitchen. Seating inside and outside.

Stiles Switch BBQ, write that name down and memorize the address. This is one of the best genuine smokehouses that I have ever been too. The brisket had the perfect smoke, bark, texture, flavor and every other quality that a beef brisket is required to have. TEh ribs were perfectly done, nice tug and pull, teh spice was just right. I had the beans and the slaw, both perfect compliments to the smoky heaven that was being served that day. The lines are long, the staff was professional and shared a couple of tastes to help you choose the plate you wanted to create. It was a business trip lunch with a client, their choice... I will be back

We had dinner and some beers. My 4 year old liked the corn casserole and sliced bread . Everything else was a little too spicy for him. I enjoyed Pork ribs and pulled pork. My husband had the Turkey and sausage. The jalapeno cheese sausage was so cheesy and delicious. My mouth was on fire, tho. The potato salad was good. I think it had dill. Different, but still yumm. We realized when we sat at the table that neither one of us ordered the Brisket . So definitely need to go back for that. And go back for the prime rib - which I think is only on Wednesday. Try it out! Totally underrated and now one of my faves!

So good. Amazing brisket and Jalepeno cheddar sausage to die for served by very friendly staff. Tomato cucumber salad could have been fresher.

Years ago, I was in town and a relative recommended Styles Switch. It was excellent and thus my return visit with my wife. We arrived just prior to the dinner rush. Our wait was less than 1 minute. We approached the slicing area and a friendly gentleman (wore black glasses) smiled and asked us what we wanted to eat. We ordered 1/2 lb of moist brisket and 2 sausage links (1 mild regular and 1 special offering of a Texas Red Hot). The gentleman sliced the moist brisket like it was the most precious meat in the world= gently slicing and letting the 3/8 thick slices fall into his hand and stacking 3 slices on a tray with paper. The sausage links were sliced into 1/2 inch slice and reassembled on our tray. Next we moved to the sides area and ordered potato salad (outstanding) and corn casserole(equally outstanding). A young man asked if we wanted sliced onions, dill pickles, jalapenos, and pickled onions. Yes to all 4. Then 2 small cups were placed on our tray containing BBQ sauce. Our drinks consisted of sweetened iced tea and a Big Red soda. We loved the crunch small ice for our drinks. We marveled at how tender and moist our brisked was. Additionally, the sausages were delicious with a definitive snap via the membrane on the sausage. Everything cooked perfectly! Both sides were equally impressive. The potato salad contained dill (the server put a fresh sprig atop our order=absolutely as good as I have ever eaten. The corn casserole was equally delicious with just enough binding to make it a casserole=great stuff. We also loved the onions, jalapenos, and dill pickles. The pickled onions were tinted pink and very flavorful. As soon as we finished, I approached the counter to inquire about my catered order. They brought it out of a back cooler. It consisted of a whole brisket and 6 sausages= 3 cheddar jalapeno and 3 regular mild. All sealed and bagged. I had been in communication with the restaurant regarding a catering order also to be picked up on the evening before we flew home. Everything we ate was perfect. A great and friendly restaurant with exceptional quality. It was worth the trip to Austin to eat this type of craft BBQ. NOTE: I cannot say that there might be a restaurant that exceeds what we ate. However, in my opinion, you would have to be a certified BBQ Judge (I used to be one) to randomly sample and proclaim x is better than y. I would be hard pressed to try other BBQ restaurants in the area. And NO! I'm on vacation and I AIN'T spending 4 or more hours in line for a chance that someplace might be better. The next time I am in the area this will be my go to BBQ restaurant. Oh, the catered order was put into my hotel room refrigerator and then placed in a soft sided cooler. A party of 8 enjoyed that brisket and sausages on Mother's Day. Great Meal!

Incredible beef ribs! Much better than Terry Black’s (which is also good but was overly hyped). Prices are comparable to others. Beef ribs were so tender and juicy, fell right off the bone, didnt need a knife at all to eat it. Brisket was nice and smoky and tender as well. I would come back just to get the beef ribs again!

Corn casserole and Mac and cheese recommended sides. Got the brisket, pulled pork and spicy sausage. Will skip the sausages next time - pork and brisket was adequate but I've had better.

Stiles is famous for its BBQ and for its place in the movie Dazed and Confused. You are also likely to see some of the famous Austin musician class dining there. It’s a classic Texas BBQ joint it’s lots of picnic tables with people from various parties hunkered down over beers and brisket or ribs or sausage. Lots of great sides like Mac and cheese or slaw or tomoato/cucumber salad. Enormous portions of meat too. Get a 1, 2 or 3 meat plate and go to town. It is really great tasting too. Try their mustard sauce on the smoked turkey. There is always a line but there is always a place to sit

The food was fresh and delicious. The smoked meat taste made the meat even better. Everything was good! I wish they had a Stuffed Baked Potato.

Everything was fantastic. Really like the spicy slaw. Great atmosphere. Had ribs, brisket and pulled pork. All tender and perfectly cooked.

I was in from out of town. An old friend that lives in Austin took me to the restaurant. I had the brisket, corn casserole, and slaw. It was all awesome. The brisket was tender and moist with a smoky delicious bark. The beer was cold and the dining room was large. I would certainly eat here again.

I was here with a large group of about 80 people so we had a private room set up. At first it seemed tight and the food was slow coming out as we were being served family style. However, once the meats started coming, all that was forgotten. The corn casserole (or corn pudding) was very good and tasty. The macaroni was really good as were the beans. The best thing though was the brisket. It was very tender and flavorful. The BBQ sauce was very good. Being as I am from South Carolina, we do not consider anything BBQ unless it is pulled pork, preferably with a vinegar based sauce but this was certainly worthy of being called BBQ. Wait staff was very attentive considering the large number of people and cheerfully accommodated special requests. Overall it was an outstanding dinner and I will return if I am ever in Austin again.

Ample parking lot to accommodate a busy restaurant. Although the line for food was lengthy, the wait was only about 10-15 minutes at dinner time. This was our first visit and we tried to sample all we could. Servers offered a sample or two of the brisket that was absolutely tender and delicious. Ribs were "fall off the bone" good, sausage was not too spicy and the pulled pork was lean - all were hot and plentiful, and side dishes were some of the best we had. Definitely worth a return visit.

Definitely glad we made this stop. The smoked meats had excellent flavor and the young man slicing and preparing plates allowed us to taste the ribs before they were ordered. We tried between us ribs, the smoked chicken (which was fantastic) and the brisket that was so tender and just fell apart. The sides were just so-so but the meat they prepare is worth the trip.

#9 stop of 14. Another break for us that Stiles is open on Sunday. And they have a special of Smoked Fried chicken wings. Sounded delicious. This place is located in a small strip of businesses and looks from the outside like a bit worn. But inside it’s industrial chic with neon, TV’s, large wood tables, and large framed photos on the walls. Short line as we entered and looked over the menu. They have beef ribs!!! I have been waiting to have one of these the entire trip. And they are not sold out. So our order was made rather quickly: Beef Rib-most expensive thing on menu so ordered a “small” one to keep cost down. Still so big I took some home. Absolutely delicious. Moist, tender deep smoke flavor with very peppery bark. An Austin trip highlight for sure. Smoked fried wings-got mine with the Honey BBQ sauce and it nicely complimented the obvious smoked flavor. Also can get with Buffalo sauce. Very tasty. Turkey-not outstanding but very moist and light smoke flavor. Cucumber & Tomato salad-and the wife rejoices over fresh vegetable! Light herby dressing and flavorful tomatoes. Very tasty and cuts the deep pepper flavor of the beef rib nicely. Mac & Cheese-nothing special here. Just standard M&C While quite good, especially the rib, the cost of $59 was real high for the meal.

Driving by, I would not stop in the place. It was recommended by one of the local folks and I'm glad they did. We originally went for the ribs, but the brisket and pulled pork were out of sight. Go all the way and get the three meat plate so you get the whole experience. When you get there, remember you are going for the food and not the ambiance. If you are a BBQ person, you will not be disappointed. It is a cafeteria style so you go through a line to get your food. You will not be impressed with the metal trays or the paper style plates, but you WILL BE IMPRESSED WITH THE FOOD!!!

This is a place you order at a counter and sit at your table where they deliver the food. Meh, for the prices I expect table service. The food was okay, not great and items were pricey. The meat was cooked okay, nothing stood out as great. I would not go out of my way to eat here again.

I have been to them Al and waited for hours and this place is just as good if not better. Keep up the good work fellas. Love the fries and corn casserole.

Unfortunately, I had the worse experience with this place. We were invited to a rehearsal dinner and the service was not anything you'd be looking for. The server brought the food to some of the tables and then left. Some tables were unattended, no food was served. People had to get up and look for food from another table. There was no one to talk to since the room is separate from the main restaurant. The bartender did not know what to do.

What a greay food, prepared with a lot of passion. We went to see the smokers and got a lot of background. The passion that goes into the preparation of the meat is immense. You could feel the heat, not only from the smokers ;)

Went by here for takeout since it was near my motel. A busy friendly place with excellent BBQ. I had brisket and a jalapeno cheddar link. I don't think it was the best i have had in Texas, but it was pretty darn good.

Brisket was very greasy. They mostly use cheap ingredients. Mac and cheese was disgusting. Turkey breast was processed not real one. Pulled pork was ok-ish..not the best but compared to the rest of the food was edible..

This is a very casual BBQ joint that can be noisy if crowded. That said, if you know that going in, you will enjoy the melt in your mouth BBQ (I had pulled pork) and delicious sweet corn casserole. And the counter service is very friendly. Beer and wine is available, and even with that, overall the meal is reasonably priced. This was my second visit and I’ll go back again when in the area.

So many bbq places in Austin, but we chose this one after a local we spoke to recommended it (without hesitation, might I add). So glad we took her advice.. it did not disappoint! We got there around 5:30 on a Friday and didn’t have to wait in line at all... although the place began filling up soon after we sat down. The atmosphere was really welcoming, and the people were extremely friendly. We tried both the pulled pork and the brisket, and they were both delicious! The sides were also awesome... I especially liked the the potato salad!

The brisket was the best I ever had. The ribs fell off the bone and were crazy good. My kids devoured them. Chicken was also very tender. Service was super friendly. Cant wait to go back on my next visit to Austin.

Let’s get right to the point - THIS IS TOP NOTCH TEXAS BBQ. The brisket was phenomenal. Melt in your mouth with the right amount of flavor and smokiness. The ends were delicious. Bountiful sides include a flavorful corn casserole you need to try and top-tier fries. Honey BBQ wings were also outstanding. Friendly staff added to the experience. Indoor and outdoor seating aplenty and good selection of beers to accompany your food. One note - the area is a bit… colorful. Across the street was a sign for “Hard Candy” - which my kids thought would be good for dessert. Until you see the next line - “high heels and lingerie” - plus the manikins in the windows. Next door is a gentleman’s club. To be clear - none of this impacted the restaurant or it’s feel. We saw other families and the atmosphere was family friendly. Just good to know before you go.

It was OK...but there are much better BBQ options in Austin. It wasn't bad. There's just much better BBQ out there. The location isn't the best either--so be mindful of that, especially if you're bringing kids late at night.

Very impressed with the BBQ, I had the Brisket, Sausage, and ribs, All very good. Brisket was moist and yummy. Sausage was juicy, and the ribs were outstanding. All good here and will be back.

We are from Australia, so don't get much good BBQ. We had been here once before, 4 years ago and were really looking forward to the food. The line was non existent, which was a worry and we were served quickly and efficiently. But my first bite of pork rib left me surprised, as it tasted like it had been smothered in maybe black pepper and was really spicy(I am writing this from Mexico, were I an enjoying lots of spicy food, so that's not the the issue). Also the burnt ends were a lump of fat burnt on the outside, so disappointing. We took most of the food home and were able to eat most of the brisket the foolowing day, but one more attempt at the ribs confirmed they were not for us. What a shame as we were really looking forward to this.

We have lived in the Austin area our entire lives and have eaten at all the popular BBQ venues; Stiles Switch has become our favorite venue. The BBQ and sides are always great and we are never disappointed.

Without a doubt the best place to enjoy the best pork ribs, the flavor is unique, you just have to keep in mind that they are somewhat spicy, but highly recommended

I tried very hard to provide words of praise for this business. It is touted as a landmark barbecue joint but I fail to see how patrons come to a positive conclusion in this regard. The offerings are not noteworthy as reviewers would have you believe...The food simply does not stand out and it shows on the customer's expressions. Ordinary BBQ and nothing more.

Very good food, large portions, and quick service. Apparently very popular, we missed the dinner rush, so we received very quick service. Highly recommend

We wanted a really good authentic bbq place in Austin and my expectations were high. The food was good. The pulled pork was excellent and the corn casserole was amazing. The brisket was dry. The meal itself was very expensive for what you get. Eighty dollars for three people to have lunch was crazy to me. The outside of the building was pretty sketchy looking and we almost missed it because I wasn't expecting it to be such a dive. The inside was much better and looked pretty cool. People were really friendly and helpful. The crackhead trying to stop everyone in the parking lot when we left was just topping on the cake! LOL. I don't think we would go back.

I ordered the pork ribs. I liked the seasoning on the ribs and love the crunchy ends. Very tasty. The coleslaw was okay but too runny. I thought I ordered the spicy version, but got traditional coleslaw. Skip it. The corn casserole is delicious. The pickles and jalapeños were a great touch. Good selection of beers on tap. Served cold in mason type jar. The service is excellent. Everyone is very friendly. The gentleman cleaning tables is on it, he cleaned our table as we completed each dish. The sauce was good. The habanero sauce was tasty but not spicy. This is not cheap, but BBQ this good isn't.

Got the combo to go - delicious pulled pork, brisket and ribs. It was a nice way to try their food for the first time. The cajun slaw was really tasty too. I need to get over here again. Staff was nice, friendly and efficient. There was a line before they opened and after they opened, the line went fast. Recommended. Service=5, Food=4.5, Value=4

Located in a little strip mall in a busy industrial area, this place is a gem. The smoked meats are flavorful and portions are generous. Really like the pinto beans with meat and potato side salad. There is normally a not-too-bad line to order during the weekdays, but I’m positive the weekends are much busier. We always plan to eat here when we are in Austin.

Stiles Switch is one of my go-to places for BBQ. Moist and tender brisket, great pork ribs, reasonably priced sides. There is always a line at lunch and the biggest drawback to this place is that parking is very tight. If you’re interested in Q in Austin you won’t go wrong heading here.

My husband and I tried to go to another place but it was like 2 pm and they ran out of food. So we went here instead. There was plenty of parking and no line, although by the time we finished eating there was a line. It seemed yo move quickly. We decided to get brisket and pork ribs since the beef ribs are pretty expensive and can’t be part of a multi-meat combo. Then we got corn casserole and fries for sides, and some pickles. They give you a lot of pickles and they’re good! We also got sauce for dipping (but skipped the bread). The sauce is thin and kind of peppery, but I really liked it. The ribs were soft and also very peppery, but the brisket was the star. It was fall-apart tender with a visible smoke line. On the fatty side, but in a good way. The sides were great too. I peeked at someone’s frito pie which looked good and huge. I’d say if you want to experience quintessential Texas bbq without waiting in a huge line, just come here.

This is an excellent Texas BBQ place. Highly recommended. Their beef ribs are huge and delicious. Every one in our group loved this place

We often tried to time our trips through Taylor to hit Louis Mueller. No longer! Now we have Taylor-quality brisket right in central Austin! I understand some of the staff trained in Taylor and they took that training to heart to produce moist, tender brisket we love. our second visit was just as tasty.

Went by the Cedar Park location Saturday evening around 7:45. Line was out the door. I decided to wait it out. Food was good but not great. Service was not very good. Definitely not worth the wait. I'd go back but no way I'd stand in line for it again.

The meat choices were what we were looking for Pulled pork and brisket were our choice Meat had a great flavor and was moist Sides were pretty good also

I like brisket and usually order 1/2 pound. Normally the server will weigh it out. At Stiles Switch they put two slices on the plate and call it 1/2 pound. My experience tells me that it is maybe 1/4 pound. They don't weigh and I felt short changed. The food was good. No complaints .

We walked in and was not sure what to order. The gentlemen behind the counter gave us samples of the best they had to offer. We ordered 3 meat tray. The portions were huge and tasty. Just sooooo good.

One of the best BBQ in Texas! Their brisket has more of spice then a sweet flavor. And pork ribs are next to none! Super yummy! Their corn casserole is like fancy corn bread! The fries are some of the best!!! And super awesome service and vibe!

Pros: quality BBQ, some creative menu additions, old school BBQ ambiance Cons: Pricey, staff somewhat zoned out, dirty bathrooms Food: This review is based on two meals at Stiles Switch in the last two weeks- one midweek lunch, the other a late Sunday afternoon meal. Fatty brisket is just “ok”- the burnt ends are fantastic but the flavor doesn’t penetrate very far at all. One thick piece had a certain undercooked funkiness too. Turkey- the best smoked turkey we’ve had. Simply perfect. Pork Ribs- very good pork ribs. Sides: spicy Cajun slaw is great, cornbread casserole is excellent, normal slaw is average, fries are decadent. Drinks: Several quality Texas beers on draft and nice selection of craft bottles. Service: order at the counter and carry your tray. The younger guys working the counter don’t listen. My wife and I both ordered the spicy Cajun slaw, but the kid totally spaced and gave us the creamy slaw. Ambiance: old-school, quirky, rustic ambiance. It works perfectly! Price to quality ratio: The price is just a tad higher than the overall quality. So we think the price to quality ratio is a bit skewed but the location in mid-Austin no doubt impacts the prices. But for a lunch for 4 (and not an extravagant lunch) we paid $98.00. Overall cleanliness: average Bathroom cleanliness: below average. The men’s room was in desperate need of cleaning.

I'm a bit hesitant because I would like to keep this little gem to myself. I've been behind the scenes to observe how its done. Somewhat of a smoked meats aficionado myself, Stiles Switch BBQ has the best ribs in Austin, in the top 2 for brisket, sides you can write home about, and SONIC ice. I agree it's a little on the expensive side, but what good tasting BBQ isn't? This is a both thumbs up, guaranteed to satisfy even the most discriminating tastes.

The prices are high. First time here. I tried the Brisket, Beans, and tomato/cucumber salad. They have homemade pickles if you like them. The brisket was cut very thick. The beans will not be for everyone as they have jalapeño peppers in them. The salad was good as long as it is eaten fresh. The location is perfect. It has the Austin Texas flavor. There are TVs for viewing if you like.

I was visiting the area and I took my nephew's family to dinner at Stiles Switch. We shared everything and had a beef rib(great), moist brisket (great), mild sausage (very good) corn casserole (great), ranch style beans(great), coleslaw (very good) a zesty warm BBQ sauce (great) onions, pickles, and loaf bread. The rib was massive with a great bark coating and was easily removed from the bone = perfectly smoked. The brisket was moist with limited fat and great bark. I could have eaten a pint of the corn casserole and a pint of the great ranch style beans. Service was great, we were offered samples of brisket as we approached the counter. Good selection of beers and fountain soft drink. I must admit that Big Red has grown on me with TX BBQ. After we finished, I told my nephew (who had suggested we go there = my treat) that we should have gotten a little more brisket. This was much better than Black's in Lockart!! Will be a sure bet when I next fly into Austin. Great food and Great People. They actually act like they enjoy their jobs, smile, and welcome you.

Been here a few times in the past and always loved it. Trying again during COVID. Tried several different items all were very good. The brisket is amazing. The cheddar sausage was awesome. No more beer on tap but lots of cans / bottles.

I am not sure how big a beef rib is supposed to be, but this one is ginormous! It comes with two sides but you don’t really need them. The meat was awesome too. I am not familiar with the Austin area, so I don’t know if it is off the beaten path. I can tell you it isn’t downtown— but definitely worth the trip.

Our daughter and son-in-law relocated to Austin 2 years ago. Our first visit to them had us looking for a good BBQ joint. We were very happy to find Freedman's but once they closed we were sure we'd never find a pace as good. WRONG, Style Switch is just as good. The atmosphere doesn't match the old Freedman's but if I want atmosphere, I'll go to Rainy St. It's a must whenever we visit although my daughter said they would understand if we came to town just to go to Style Switch and didn't stop by... we're from NJ.

Excellent BBQ! Brisket is really good. Pulled pork is good. I could use a little more sauce selection just because I like sauce

i was here for a work meeting on a weeknight. it was in a private room which was great. the staff is wonderful, the location good and the parking easy. my husband has been here before with friends. the prices are a little high for the venue but he and his BBQ-eating pals enjoyed it. the only item i tried was the potato salad and it was delicious.

Prior to our trip to Austin, I did research on BBQ places that also served turkey and chicken since my husband LOVES BBQ but I prefer the fowl friendly meats, so this place absolutely fit the bill for both of us. We arrived on a weeknight early evening, so it was not crowded at all and there was only a short line to wait in for a minute. The service was very fast and very friendly. We chose to eat inside but there is also outdoor seating. I chose the one meat (turkey) plate with two sides (mac-n-cheese and fries). He chose the two meat (ribs and brisket) plate with two sides (mac-n-cheese and brussels sprouts). Every single thing we eat was divinely delicious.

The best of the best of the best. Recommended by the locals (we're native New Yorkers who spend winters here) and now I know why! Wow, wow, wow! Melt in you mouth brisket, fall off the bone ribs, and sausage as mild or as hot as you like it. And the sides are all good. You can't go wrong. This is a regular stop for us. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food is off the charts. This sets the standard for Texas BBQ!

Although I'm really tired of the stand-in-line-to-place-your-order type restaurants that seem to be the current trend, this one is worth the extra effort. The lines are justifiably long, but move pretty fast. My companions and I all had the brisket for which the place is famous, and it was outstanding. You order your meat and your choice of sides and drink, then pay and find your table in the big, noisy dining room. There is outside seating, but it has the atmosphere of eating in a garage. Still, the food is worth it. Go!

My husband and I went for a late lunch/early dinner together with my daughter and her boyfriend at Stiles Switch BBQ in Austin, Texas on the afternoon of Saturday, November 10, 2018. I personally don’t like BBQ but everyone else in our party did I like mac and cheese and wish it was an actual entrée on the menu, not just a side. I wanted to try to order mac and cheese with a small amount of pulled pork. However, this somehow got turned into a meat plate, without me asking for a meat plate. I only found out it was a meat plate when I reviewed the cash register receipt. Below I address each of the TripAdvisor Categories: Regarding the food: Everyone who ordered the brisket liked it as well as the sausage. I liked the mac and cheese and wish it was a separate entrée on the menu. But I did not like the pulled pork, as well as the sliced bread that was part of the meat plate. I would have preferred to have a roll instead of the slices of white bread with raw onion and pickles. As for Value: A meat plate would be a good value, if that was what you order and want. The price of the meat plate was the same regardless of if you got the brisket or pulled pork. I guess based on price per pound, the brisket was more worth the price than the pulled pork. The meat plate came with sliced bread; I think it was white bread. I would have preferred a roll. What didn’t seem a good value, at least to me, was ordering brisket ala carte. I thought Brisket at $22.00 a lb. was quite an expensive entry on our bill. However, the bottles of beer and sausage were a reasonable price. As for Service: There was counter service, which was very quick but no table service at this restaurant. It was cafeteria style and you had to bring your tray up after you were done. Being a cafeteria style restaurant, you don’t have an opportunity and time to sit down and review the menu before you decide what you want to order. I did not like this aspect of the dining experience.

So I am on vacation to visit my son and DIL. I'm from Cali and my idea of BBQ is big box restaurant like Lucille's. My son's eyes glassed over and said, "mom, you just don't know BBQ!" So I walk in walk to the back where this giant tote board has all the choices and I'm flabbergasted. I gotta choose? So those nice men with the meat in their hands suggested Brisket and Ribs (they were the short kind) so I had enough brain power to say what sides I wanted. I chose potato salad and the creamy cole slaw. So, I will have to say this is the best BBQ I have ever tasted. The brisket was melt in your mouth buttery tasting and the ribs although small were meaty and tasty tender. Don't expect some kind of thick sauce slathered all over (they do have it on the table if you want it). The meal comes with a thinnish almost au jus consistency with a BBQ flavor. And if you are a sweet tea fan. Its good here too! Would I go back? OMG in a Texas heartbeat YES!!!!!

Inside, outside or take out, you won't be disappointed in the BBQ offering here. The char on the brisket is pretty unbeatable. One, two and three meat plates include two ample sides. Or you can a la carte by the pound or piece. If you can't find something you'll love to eat here, you might as well stay home. This is booth and table style seating here, not the long ranch style community tables.

Phil here again, me and the Misses spent a few days in Austin and found a few good places to eat. If you’re in the area make sure you stop by here and grab a bite to eat. Nice menu selection of meats and sides. We shared the three meat platter with two sides and it was a great idea, that was plenty of food for two people. The ribs and brisket were my personal favorite, but the sausage was pretty good as well. If you show up right at lunch time be ready to wait because it fills up quick. Recommended, and if we are back in town we will eat there again.

I admired this place as it was speical, good, fun, different. I pony up for a beef rib as a bday treat It was the worst barbecue I can recall eating almost ever. I am sure it was a fluke, not common, and unusual. Owner tried to guilt me into not posting or commenting. Said I was childish, needing help. Said I’ll give you your money back. Not about the money I told him. It’s about how it happened on the first place. Sending food back or getting reimbursed is an easy out and never a solution. He stated I basically was wrong about it all. So therefore I will eat there again even if somone is buying or it’s catered.

So glad I found this place! Amazing BBQ, fast and friendly service. The guys are so friendly, cute and fun! Price is great- can’t wait to go back... Brisket & Chocolate banana pudding is where it’s at!

I ate here upon the recommendation of a local friend. Ribs and brisket were great, neat atmosphere and outstanding service! I had there corn casserole as one of my sides that was a unique and good side option too. I hope to return the next time I am in Austin.

We found this place through Trip Advisor as it was on the way to our hotel from the airport. From the minute we arrived, we had a very personable employee who was cutting up the brisket, and he gave us generous portions of their BBQ to sample before ordering. We went with the 3 Meats platter with 2 sides - hue highly recommended the bbq Brussels sprouts and the corn casserole. We added a side of Mac-n-cheese and hawg rub fries for our 5&7 year old. I asked what local brew that the recommended, and he immediately pointed me to Pinthouse’s “Electric Jellyfish,” which is local celebrity, Matthew McConaughey’s, local brewery. It was delicious! It reminded us of Chicago’s Maplewood brewery’s “Son of Juice.” The staff was extremely friendly, and you got the feeling that this was a fun place to work. Highly recommended!

We were in town for a wedding and the rehearsal dinner was held at Stiles Switch BBQ. We were set up in a separate room and the food was served family style. The waitstaff was just about the best we've ever encountered! They were engaging, friendly, knowledgeable and quite efficient! And, oh, that BBQ! I've been away from Texas for several years and longed to have some great brisket, and this was exactly what I was hoping for! Fork tender, no knives needed. What a great evening and so happy our event was held at Stiles!

We went here for a family lunch over the holidays and liked some of the items and saw room for improvement with others. First, there was plenty of seating for a large party and there's a covered outdoor area with seating and also a place to play a game kind of like horseshoes (this was great for entertaining the kids for a bit). We got the brisket and sausage for meat selections-- the sausage was good-- more in the kielbasa type and some of the brisket was delicious, but other parts were too fatty. The house sauce is good, but a little too watery. We liked the spicy sauce at the table better. The mac and cheese, creamy coleslaw, and tomatoe/cucumber salad were above average for sides, but nothing outstanding. The servers nicely gave us a whole loaf of the Texas BBQ-mandatory Butter Krust bakery bread (very kid friendly).

The barbecue was excellent in every way. The dining room is airy and spacious, everyting was clean and fresh. As we were first-time visitors, the staff explained the options and were really friendly. Between us we tried the pulled pork, pork ribs and brisket and everything was tasty and delicious. Prices are affordable and servings are generous.

I had the beef ribs and they were Delicious!!! They were the size of a flintstones rib from the cartoon. Also had the corn casserole, and it was very good as well. I Highly recommend the beef ribs!

I ate at Stiles Switch on a Sunday evening. The Ribs were excellent. However as the pace is very popular, we had to stand in line for 25 minutes to before we got to be served.

The most amazing Texas brisket ever. Catered my mother’s 90th birthday family dinner from Styles Switch a couple years ago. My family went back twice during this past week while we were in town. Highest compliments from every family member...the California, Virginia and Texas contingents. You all are top shelf, a-one, head of the class!

This is real deal for BBQ. Great food, quick and friendly service. If you're in Austin check this place out!

Buy by the pound, great choices of meat and side dishes. Good drink selection. No queue when we were there, quick service.Worth a visite.

Styles and switch was amazing. The ambience was extremely nice. Gabriel Culiat will definitely recommend them to family and friends. The service was great and the food was delicious

Had a business dinner here (one of our group grew up with the owner, still friends). The ‘Normal’ Texas BBQ was pretty good (pulled pork, pork ribs, brisket and sausage) but the home run, worth the trip, is the Beef Ribs. Its was like a fatty brisket that tasted like bone-in prime rib. Great service but small seating area but highly recommended and I will be back.

Second visit. First visit I was less impressed. This visit was perhaps the best BBQ I have ever had, anywhere. The beef ribs were incredible. The cheddar sausage was excellent. The "point" brisket was absolutely sublime! Funny the last visit I though the pork ribs were the best but this time they were MUCH too peppered. Anyways, the meal was incredible and can't wait to return!

Recently won the best bbq in Austin, which means it may be the best in Texas. Everything here is done slow, with care and love and it comes through in each bite. Lamar spot located in the historic “Emporium” shopping center. Whether you’re visiting from College Station or Seoul, make sure you find the time to visit!

Have friends who live in Austin who swear by this place and I think they have it right. Ribs, brisket and turkey all great. Corn casserole was amazing.

Everything is great , the Brisket is by far and away in a class of its own , pulled pork fantastic, ribs, not as good but still quit tasty Sides were delicious

Stiles Switch BBQ is a must while in Austin. Nice small line and moves quick. I had the Brisket & Rib both were good. Rib juicy with nice flavor. The Rib was Luke warm. Brisket was also Luke warm but tasty.

My goodness, this was some excellent Texas brisket. But you only get two thin slices, of which a fair amount is fat. Should have ordered by the pound. Sides take a serious second seat to the main event here.

In Austin for a few days with the family. Found this place on TripAdvisor. Decided we had to go since our last name is Stiles (no relation). The BBQ is great. Turkey was juicy, brisket was cooked well and smokey. The one pound beef ribs was delicious!! Potato salad and cucumber salad also good. Just not a fan of the Mac n cheese. Everyone was friendly. My husband really liked the place, he even bought a shirt.

I enjoyed my brisket and my husband liked the pork ribs. Super tasty. The sides were nothing special. The corn casserole tasted good but should have been hotter. The iced tea was good. I liked eating outside.

Local friend took me here after I asked him where we could get the best BBQ in Austin. He was definitely right to pick this place. Not only was it the best I had before in any of my many trips to Austin but it may have been the best of all time. Melt in your mouth good.

We ate here on a Friday afternoon when we arrived for a one night stay for a Longhorn game. I highly recommend it. Very good food. The line moves fast (so don’t be discouraged when its long). Food is good, lot of it – good value.

We had traveled all day so when we arrived and saw the hour wait we were close to deciding to come back the next day when we were more rested. While we were in line deciding what to do, a local in line with us, told us it was worth the wait, so we decided to stay. So glad we did. We passed the time by visiting with other people in line and the conversation helped to pass the time quickly. We choose take out so once it was our turn, ordering and purchasing was a quick process. First you order your meat which is placed in the takeout box, you move in line to the next server who puts your vegetable choices in the box, then you move to the cashier. The price is more than reasonable. Everything we ordered was enjoyable.

Tasty food but it is served bit cold since you make a line, order when you get to front, they don’t seem to use heating lamps to keep the meats warmer, then you continue in the line to get your sides and finally pay. By the time you sit down, food is lukewarm; not ideal. They have indoor and outdoor patio, both are comfortable. Plenty parking. Pricing for food not too bad.

It was so nice to find a bbq place open for dinner. The plates (meat with sides) made ordering a bit easier. The brisket was good but a bit salty for me. The pulled pork was delicious and I loved the corn casserole. The vibe was fun and casual and the place was pretty busy (I can see why!).

I love BBQ and really love a good beef rib. Stiles beef ribs are gigantic, but I wasn't worried. I love beef and fat is part of it, but this rib was 70% fat and 30% meat. Seemed like it didn't spend nearly enough time in the BBQ pit. Really inedible. My other group members enjoyed their brisket and turkey, hence 3-star rating overall.

Very nice building good location ordered the sausage and beans sausage was very tough had to spit out several pieces of fat beans were good sauce was good not a real good experience maybe try again service very friendly

When I looked up best barbecue in Austin, this place popped up. It is excellent! The brisket falls apart when you pick it up- it's like butter!!! Try the spicy sausage too- it is full of flavor. This place has a very casual setting with indoor and outdoor seating. And they are open for dine in now.

I had pork ribs. They were out of beef ribs. A couple were fall off the bone tender and a couple were tough. I had corn casserole and tomatoes and cucumber salad. Both were very good. But no sides are included for ribs by weight. Spouse had brisket. It was just shy of very good - not a lot of flavor. He makes brisket at home, and his is amazing. He had mac and cheese that tasted pre packaged and good pinto beans. The banana pudding was the best part of the meal. Made with cream cheese. We googled this as the best bbq in Austin....meh. not the best I've had. He said he wouldn't drive out of his way to get it again.

It located in Crown Shopping Centre ,,decor like "" Old School " rustic ambiance ,very homer ,lively ,very crowned ,noisy ,,menu is very unique ,,they do have turkey breast or half chicken if you do not like red meat , the brisket is excellent ,my beef ribs delicious ,smoked it just right temperature ,,last mins I find out they have the Chicken Wings on special ,,it is heaven ,so spicy and flavourful to die for ,,lucky I did not live in Austin , it is so hard to watch my waistline , or not to get sick , fantastic wings , and great BBQ smoked dinning experiences exceeded my expectations ,price very affordable .

Found this place on Trip Advisor and wanted to give it a shot. It did not disappoint. Fast, friendly service. The brisket was outstanding, along with the smoke chicken. Huge portions for the money. Would highly recommend.

We visited Stiles Switch BBQ on our last night in Austin. While we had a filling meal I can't say it was exceptional. We got a lot to eat for the price but the meat seemed a little too salty for our taste. If you've never had other outstanding Texas BBQ perhaps this would be a delicious meal.

I had a combo meat plate. Ample servings . The food was the perfect amount of smoke and very tender.

Great location and friendly staff. They had excellent signage and social distancing practice. Ordered quite a bit and would say probably my favorite jalapeno sausage in Austin. Def get the corn casserole too. It was all yummy in my tummy. Would defintely come again. Has ample parking which is awesome.

Excellent service, excellent BBQ. The brisket is wonderful and the corn casserole is a must have! Plenty of parking. Fortunately, this location is right across the street from my work.

This spot is just outside of downtown closer to UT. So, if you're in town for a game or to visit the school for whatever reason, we recommend stopping by Stiles Switch. It's certainly not going to be the first BBQ place recommended by people when in Austin, but... you also won't wait on line for a good 30 minutes to 3 hours! The first few times we had been here we actually felt like it was the best BBQ we had ever had! The 3rd time, a bit salty in the brisket (which is disappointing, why else come to Texas!) The sausage and sides are all excellent as well, though. Give it a try!

The food overall is very good. The brisket was moist, the spicy jalapeño sausage a good mix of salt and spice and the pulled pork, flavorful. The sides were tasty as well. Would suggest being more generous with the BBQ sauce, but that said it was good food and experience.

I’m so glad we came across this bbq place. It was sooo good! Our family had the brisket and ribs. This was hands down the best brisket ever! Customer service was top notch too. They let us sample items that we weren’t sure about. Many side dishes to choose from.

Great atmosphere for a bbq joint. The food was good, but the portions seemed small. Just two slices of brisket for the plate meal? Seemed a little overpriced for what you get. But overall, a good meal.

Stiles Switch BBQ in Austin is by far the best brisket I tried. The location is in an upcoming hipster area of Austin (as if all of Austin isn’t hipster). There is plenty of parking in the parking lot. The dining area is a line for ordering and pickup. Don’t be deterred if long, the line moves fast. On a recent visit a tour bus of guests was in front of us and we didn’t wait long. The food is delicious!!! The brisket is my favorite. You can order al a cart or a plate dinner. I saw the people ordering both – the Cadillac menu is for the really hungry. A friend order the smoked prime rib and it tasted outstanding – I may need to try it next time its offered. I highly recommend this BBQ joint. They are on the list and you will not be disappointed.

I was travelling from Australia and was recommended this place from a friend. Wow. Loved it. The queue was out the door, which is a tell tale sign of a good place. It moved fast, which indicated good fast service too. All the meats were exceptional and this was a highlight of our trip

We stopped by on the recommendation of a local, and were not disappointed! We had the beef brisket, pulled pork and turkey and all were absolutely delicious. Sides were great too. You order at the counter and the staff were really helpful in giving advice on our order, letting us taste a couple of the meats etc. Would thoroughly recommend!

Stiles was on my to do list while in Austin TX and it did not disappoint me. Brisket and Ribs full of flavor, corn grits and had the coleslaw, enjoyed every bit. Love that "Dazed and Confused" was filmed on location there, just a plus. Go early, line gets long for lunch.

We had 4 adults. One ordered meat plate, 1 pork, 1 brisket and I had the frito pie and we shared a pitcher of beer. The sides of corn pudding and coleslaw and pinto beans were very good. The potato salad and mac n cheese are nothing special and would not order again. The brisket was excellent and so were all the other meat plates served with a side if pickles n onions n the famous non gluten free Texas white bread. Family friendly and down home feeling.

We bought a pound of brisket, smoked half chicken, Stiles sausages, potato salad, beans. Beans were excellent. Potato salad very good. The rest was very good but not the best. Sauce was very nice. $72 for all that. Will try another BBQ next time.

If you look at the pricing on the online menu; beware that ribs are acutally $10.50 per half pound - not $6.50 per half pound. The service is basically a line to the counter, order your meat, then sides, and pay at the end. This was our first time and even though we checked out the menu in advance and called for pricing on the full rack of ribs, we were still shocked at checkout. A rack of ribs = 2 lbs = $44...! The ribs were char smoked with a very spicy coating and burned my husband's lips for hours. The pulled pork was average at best - I've had a whole lot better. It was flavorless and definitely needed a dunk in the bbq sauce to make it taste like anything. The corn casserole was good, but the spicy cajun coleslaw was bland and dry. Atmosphere inside was as expected other than it was cold. If you want to be ripped of for just average BBQ then this is the place for you. We'll continue to look for good Texas BBQ.

Got a recommendation from a local business owner for this place, so we decided to check it out for dinner. I am new to Austin and definitely looking for great BBQ places-this did not disappoint. Definitely no "regulars" or "local" feel as you get in some places-just good ol' fashioned friendliness and hospitality from every person on the line. Lots of laughs and conversation going on as you pick up your food cafeteria style. That set the tone perfectly for the excellent food. Prices for a two meat platter with sides are just about what I expected, maybe slightly better for the amount of food you get. My brisket was juicy and tender, and the rub added great flavor without being overpowering in any way. Pulled pork was just as good if not better. Even the sides were prepared well, particularly the cornbread. Great beer selection and at good prices too. All in all a great place to chow down on some fantastic Texas BBQ. I will definitely be showing friends this place when they visit.

Outstanding service , staff walked us thru the menu and let us samples before ordering . The food was excellent and was very reasonably priced . The place was clean and they bused our table quickly after we finished our meal.

So we were looking for BBQ...but the first 2 places didn't pan out due to LONG waits. We are glad we didn't give up and that we found Stiles Switch BBQ. I love the set up of the restaurant. You order at the counter and they dish it up right there. After seeing the BEEF ribs, I changed my mind from what I had in mind to it. The guys at the counter offered me a bite and some good humor. The whole experience was authentic and joyous! You could tell they were proud of their product and happy to help you get what you wanted. The mac and cheese and other sides are top notch (homemade) and tasty. Way to go guys!! You won us over!

I had a two meat plate with two sides. I got brisket, pulled pork, BBQ beans and fries. It was all excellent. The meat had a great crust on it with just enough saltiness. Tender as all get-out. Very well done. The beans were excellent. Three different sauces on the table. The dark molasses one was really good. Price with a drink was $20, but it’s really good. I will definitely be back.

Visiting from GA and was told to try this place. It didn't disappoint. Meat was very good and had fast service. Healthy sized portions, and they let you sample the meat. Overall very good experience.

We went to Stiles Switch for lunch. It was at the end of the lunch hour, so we were able to quickly place our order, pick up our order, and find a seat. I had the BBQ pork steak. It was a large portion and quite tasty. We also had their BBQ chicken, pinto beans. potato salad, mac and cheese, and Cole slaw. There was a van outside used for catering. So if you have the urge, They'll bring the whole fixings to you. .Good eats.

Stiles is one of the places we frequent when visiting family in Austin. When it comes to BBQ, Texas is Nirvana and Stiles serves a reliably good rendition that never disappoints. That night they were running a special on a novel smoked brisket burger which all 3 of us ordered. It came with a side of either fries or onion rings. The burger was decent sized, juicy, and had been finished on a flat top for a nice crust. They didn't ask how I wanted it but the final product was perfect anyway with a slight pink in the middle. For our sides we ordered 2 fries and one onion rings. The fries were a generous portion of skin-on but a little on the cool side. The onion rings consisted of 5 skinny rings reminiscent of those in the frozen section of a grocery store and a bit greasy for my taste. It was the sides that kept me from awarding Stiles 5 stars.

Ate here during Covid-19 so we were unable to eat inside. We ordered to-go upon the recommendation of a local. It was very good, but by all means not the best BBQ we’ve ever had. But we’ve eaten BBQ from all over, and are partial to Kansas City and Memphis BBQ. Surprisingly I liked the sauce, which is vinegar based. It was a little on the thin side though. Just a kick of heat which was great, although I don’t think they gave us enough. If we had dined in we probably could have gotten as much as we liked so I don’t think it was limited on purpose, just due to circumstances. We got pork ribs, smoked turkey, a very large sandwich that I can’t remember the name of but I think it was brisket, beans, corn casserole, and cole slaw. It was all very delicious. Favorite would be the turkey and corn casserole. Really great food. Would definitely go back.

Sure, Franklin's is iconic, but waiting in line for hours? Stiles Switch perhaps is a A to Aaron's A+ for brisket, but Stile's beef rib and pork push it past Aaron Franklin's. Sorry about that. The sides are excellent. Mac and cheese that I actually like and I rarely like restaurant mac & cheese. Plenty of seating place and outdoor seating that, while it's next to the street, is fine on a moderate temp day. Go to Stiles Switch.

Located in Austin’s first shopping center- a posted sign tells this- sits Stiles. The brisket was excellent- moist with the right balance of flavor between lean and fat. Would have no problem returning

We were visiting Austin from St. Louis. A few locals recommended Stile Switch for great BBQ. It was not as good as BBQ in St. Louis. But it was decent. The staff was friendly and they even gave us some beef ribs to sample as we do not eat beef ribs in STL.

The food was amazing. We were first to arrive at this restaurant on a Tuesday. We had the brisket, pulled pork, corn casserole, potato salad and the mac n cheese. Or trip to Texas had a few bbq meals. Not one was on the level of Stiles. Hope to return again in the future. So tender and flavorful.

Brought in a group of female coworkers at lunchtime. The line was long but moved quickly. Portions are very generous & everyone working the line seems happy to be there.
Amazing Barbeque, Cool Place, Cool Staff
Some of the best barbeque I've ever had, with a great dipping sauce, and great sides. The best brisket I've ever had was from in Kreutz Market in Lockhart, but this is a very close second, if not just as great! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. And this is the only bbq place I've ever seen that has corn casserole, too. Being from out of town, I really wanted to take some home their sauce, but they don't sell it. Bummer! But I will definitely eat here every time I'm in Austin.
