Great desserts

By Keith E |

Just went here with friends. The dinner was good, and the desserts were absolutely amazing. I especially liked the baklava and the citrus cheesecake.

Great food and service

We had read great reviews for this new restaurant and decided to try it on a Saturday evening. Only reservations available were at 5 pm, so we went with that. The restaurant is at 17th and Snyder in South Philadelphia. There was ample street parking within a block of the restaurant, which is a plus in Philadelphia. The restaurant is very small, with only about ten tables and a tall seat counter than can accommodate up to six walk ins. The place is an old storefront, with rustic and eclectic decoration. Service was very friendly and attentive - so good that I went beyond the normal 20%. Food was excellent with a few stunners. The octopus and spanakopita (Borek on their menu) were knock-outs, and the Roni Cups pepperoni pizza also was phenomenal. Fattoush salad was generous in size and good. Turkish dumplings were very good. For such a small restaurant, there were a lot of people serving and in the kitchen - food came out very hot and very quickly. We ordered a lot of food in order to sample different dishes - our dinner was about $40 per person; restaurant is BYOB so bring your own wine. I believe the restaurant is cash only. Because the restaurant is so deep in South Philly, and Philly traffic can be pretty bad, give yourself 15-20 minutes to drive there from Center City. We definitely will be going back.

A Constant Home Run!

The service, the food, the vibe...it’s all very special. Bobby, owner and chef along with wife Christina, presents an octopus that many say is the best in Philadelphia. I happen to agree. Wonderful Mediterranean and Middle Eastern choices. Pizza are great too. Philly Magazine just announced their top 50 restaurants of 2020, and Stina is number 22. It’s a small place, so plan ahead and make a reservation. Bobby will be busy, but he does appreciate knowing how you heard about their special restaurant.

Delicious and Different

We eat in this area often because our son lives in this neighborhood. I found this place on Resy and the menu looked interesting, they had outdoor seating and a B.Y.O.B. so we decided to try it. The food is a mix of pizza and Turkish/Greek so there were a lot of interesting dishes to choose from. We had the dips with pita and the roasted cauliflower as appetizers and a margarita pizza and a Pide (boat shaped bread loaded with cheese and toppings) with mushrooms and arugula. Everything was delicious. To top it off, it was only $52 before tip for 3 of us. Saw a very yummy looking cake go by a few times, but we were too full for dessert...next time. The place was hopping when we left. Service was great and the bathrooms were spotless. We will return.

Best pizza in town with cozy family feel

Located in the quaint Girard Estate neighborhood. It has the cozy neighborhood feel and with world renowned ingredients and styles. The service is amazing and the BYOB makes it that more special. The soppressata pizza is the best over ever had! The spanakopita is delicious and soft! A must have! It’s a place to visit regularly.
