Great atmosphere and the appetizers and brick oven pizzas were great. Also had some really good cocktails. Not a very large wine list but we found something.

We stopped in after someone recommended the Ballard area. Food and service were great except for the hostess who was a bit too snooty. Tables were available outside when she said there was nothing outside available. We had the scallops and the halibut.

We enjoyed a late dinner at Stoneburner and our kids loved sitting in a booth where they could watch the chefs at work. The wood-fired pizza oven was a particular highlight. When the pizza arrived at our table it was delicious. Everything was reasonably priced and the atmosphere was welcoming but sophisticated. We stayed at the Hotel Ballard so it was a treat to enjoy some of the Stoneburner's delicious cocktails before walking back to our room.

We arrived in Ballard and ate here on our first night. It was so wonderful that we decided to eat again last night! When you eat here, it's not just about the food. The Decors is really neat. You walk in to a room with various levels, an open kitchen and a charcuterie station. The culinary smells are very welcoming! The restaurant is adjoined to a beautiful hotel ( you walk into the hotel lobby to use the washroom). The other thing about this restaurant is the excellent service. The waiters and Somalier are outstanding at their job. The Somalier recommended a beautiful Chablis. The waiters were well versed with the menu and tailored our food orders to our needs. We ordered a variety of dishes and shared them family style. The Fochacia bread with Garlic Compote is out of this world! We also had the Brussel Sprouts Caesar Salad and the Roasted Brissel Sprouts. We had the Winter Panzanetto Salad with lovely roasted veggies. The Meat balls were delicious as was the Brick cooked chicken. We had the pasta special one night and two different pizzas. All the food was served at the proper temperature and revealed an array of wonderful flavours. On or second night, we celebrated our daughter's BD and ordered Tiramisu and donuts for dessert...absolutely yummy! You can't go wrong with this place!

We were visiting our daughter and son-in-law in Shoreline and wanted to go out to dinner for our son-in-law's birthday. They suggested Stoneburner. What a delicious dinner we enjoyed. The restaurant is small but seems larger because of the mirrors they have placed on the back wall. The seating area is dimly lit...which added to the ambiance. We chose a variety of pizzas to share...as well as a few appetizers. Everything was wonderful! The arrangement of the table was perfect...a narrow higher shelf where the pizzas could sit so that everyone had access to them. Truly a meal that we will remember!

The cold plate was delicious but i was quite surprised when I got the smallest portion of pasta I've ever seen, especially for 16$.

The Ballard area of Seattle is well-known for happening restaurants and trendy bars...Stoneburner fits the profile! We had a great time earlier this summer at this spot adjacent to the Ballard Inn and returned last week just after Thanksgiving. There were three of us and we chose to turn left into the bar area to a window booth. (The curved bar is very inviting and will be checked out in the future!) Everything we ordered was amazing! Manhattans, Calabrian pizza, caesar salad, and a pasta special were all memorable...topped off with an awesome tiramisu (see pic). Our waiter was informative and engaging and answered all of our menu questions in a professional manner. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Nice friendly atmosphere with nice menu selection. We had three shared appetizers and three delicious entrees that fed a party of five!

We had the pleasure of dining here and had an excellent dinner. The staff are exceptional. The provide a personalized meat and cheese tray that was so good with our wine. The manager, Jonathan, took very good care of us. Highly recommend

I have been to Stoneburner a few times and always wonder why I don't go more often. They have a great selection of liquor - i am a gin fan and they offer a dozen options. I settled on Uncle Val's as a martini was delicious. The food is sharable and right portioned. Started with the blistered cauliflower and the roasted brussel sprouts for first course the first courses. Both were excellent. The Orecchietti was amazing. The service was poor but it was not busy and we were not in a hurry.

I love the decor; wrought iron and wood. Nice layout of the restaurant. The pizza oven provides a nice aroma. My wife started with a glass of wine - $9. It is one of the cheaper ones as most are around $16. I decided on a Diet Coke. It is $5 each. Menu is Italian but really has a mix of different Mediterranean flavors and some Americana as well. There are salads, small plates, large plates and pizzas. We settled on salad and pizza each. My wife had their Snap Pea Salad while I had the One Leaf Farmer Butter Salad. Hers was excellent; mine was not memorable. Too light on vinaigrette... She had the Fresh Mozzarella pizza while I had the Chanterlie and Yukon Potato pizza. They were $22 each and a tough large for single serving. The Fresh Mozzarella was bland. Mine was a bit more interesting flavor wise. Both were paper thin. The topping were very thin as well. This is so they will cook in a few minutes on their pizza oven. Way too thin even for lovers of thin pizzas. I also personally have a hang up with these super heated thin pizzas where they get charred blisters on the crust and pick up charred ash on their bottoms as they are slid around the oven. It may be authentic but if I want to taste burned crust, I'll make toast at home. We followed up the dinner with their Toffee Bread Pudding with Plum Sauce and Ginger Ice Cream. It is an appropriately small serving but still costs $11. It was very tender; kind of looked like a bran muffin. The plum sauce was bright red and tasted more sweet than I was expecting. Our server was excellent; very attentive and charming. Overall, for 2 glasses of wine, 2 salads and 2 pizzas plus dessert and 20% gratuity, we spent $151. Good food, only memorable moment was realizing that - ouch - we'd spent $151 on decent salads and pizza...

We stayed in the Hotel Ballard on a recent trip to visit friends, and they made us a dinner reservation here, so we went in blind. It was a fantastic experience. Our waitress was very friendly and full of good information; on her suggestion we ordered the smoked tuna dip appetizer, and it was delicious. A few minutes later she brought us out an order of a seasonal salad just so we could try it! It too was delicious. It was a beautiful night, so they opened the front glass wall of the restaurant to let the air in. Even with the sidewalk just behind me, it was a quiet, peaceful dinner.

The food was excellent here. From the pizzas to the charred broccoli with honey tahini - superb! So many great dishes, sharing small plates is recommended.

This was our first visit. We started by sharing tiny plates. They were unique and very tasty, presented beautifully. We then proceeded to pasta bowls, which we all enjoyed. The servers were friendly and attentive. Our experience was enjoyable and the atmosphere was perfect. We highly recommend this restaurant

Amazing food and excellent service. My husband and I love Stoneburner. We have eaten here probably 5 times so far! Get the mozzerella stuffed olives to start - so good! And try the Tuna dip with house made sweet potato chips! We've had a variety of entrees here from the Bavette steak to the fish specials (which are always perfectly prepared) to salads etc. You can't go wrong! Fantastic wine list too! Service is always top notch and friendly.

Was looking forward to a nice meal at this restaurant, was sorely disappointed. Not even sure how you would classify this food as - burnt? Over cooked? Too many spices on everything. It's okay to not over season everything! There wasn't a single item of food in our multi-course meal that was enjoyable for myself or my husband. We had to stop for fast food on the way home....

The food here is amazing. I went with two friends and we got one of the charcuterie plates as well as three mains to split between us. It was the perfect amount of food for 3 people and although expensive, absolutely worth it. They also had a wine sommelier at hand which was good for us because we are all big winos. He chose the perfect red to accompany our meal and wasn't just trying to sell us the most expensive bottle they had. We also had a drink at the bar while we were waiting for our table and they have a nice bar area and good service from the bartenders.

We were guided by the owner waiter to order dishes that could satisfy even some vegetarians at the table. Honest, well-made dishes including mushroom appetizer, scallops and pasta with mushrooms. Good wine list.

Was in town on business and met my sister who lives in the area. We chose this place as I was staying nearby and it looked like a good menu. Service was attentive if not slightly awkward. When we arrived, the front was a bit aloof and seemed surprised we didn't have a reservation. Meanwhile the whole place was sparsely populated the whole time we were there. Our food was tasty but the value wasn't there. I had a salmon special which was $31 for a nice piece of salmon on some "avocado hummus" (I guess they thought calling it hummus would let them charge $5 more than it warranted). There was no side just a sprig of lettuce on top. We walked by several other places after we wished we had tried.

We have eaten here a number of times with our son and daugther in law when visiting in Seattle but this last time was a real let down. You order a wide variety of dishes and share them amongst the table. The size of the servings varies greatly and does not seem to follow any rhyme or reason. We ordered a fresh salad with mint leaves and radishes. The salad arrived and was very small - we hardly had a few leaves each. The salad was tasty but not worth the money. Next we ate a serving of octopus - this time the serving was generous. It came served atop roasted potatoes and a green aoli. The dish was nicely prepared and tasty. We also ordered meatballs, a porkchop and roasted heirloom carrots. The meatballs were OK. The porkchop was large and served with greens that had been burned. The porkchop itself was close to being undercooked. The heirloom carrots were chared burnt. Very expensive for so little food and food that was either undercooked or burnt.

Staying at the attached hotel we needed and quick and light supper so shared a delightful thin tasty pizza and a couple of beers. Unpretentious, reasonably priced quick and efficient.....just what a couple of weary travellers needed.....highly recommend

Have been here several times now. Everything we have ordered has been delicious and we really like the ambience and decor. Favorites are the roasted Brussels sprouts, charred broccoli, cold cuts, pasta and pizzas. Highly recommend reservations.

While staying at the Ballard we stopped in at Stoneburner a couple of times for drinks and snacks. The service was excellent and the drinks were just what we would expect from upscale bartender. The lounge is large but you have a cozy feeling with the way the tables are set up. We are an older couple and we enjoyed watching the younger crowd having a great time

First time at Stoneburner, didn’t know what to expect. It was about a 30-40 min wait at 8 pm on Friday but the hostess said it was first come first serve at the bar. We ended up finding two seats and said “let’s just have a drink here before we get our table.” Well due to the service we had from our bartender Nathan, we just stayed put! Nathan was not only a capable bartender (he made an off the menu spicy cocktail for me) but he was super knowledgeable on the menu too. He provided service with a smile and checked in on us often. Often bar service (for food) is poor, the bartender is too busy making drinks for bar patrons or the wait staff that the client gets overlooked...NOT the case here. It was like we had our own waiter/waitress. The food was also good! We had the Dutch fries, roasted Brussel sprouts and two pasta dishes for our entrees. Both cost $23 but the Orecchiette (with lamb) was a much better value compared to the Cappelletti. That said, they both had great flavor. Nathan hooked us up with a couple small testers of dessert wine before we were done and it was a perfect night cap. For the service and food - 5 stars!

We went for brunch today based on a great brunch we had 2 years ago. Unfortunately the menu changed, NOT for the better! All of what we thought were signature brunch items, like that delicious baked french toast, are replaced by oddball stuff - who wants lamb belly for breakfast (or any other meal)!? Despite very specific instructions eggs were undercooked, so much looking at them turned my stomach. A 3oz. glass of orange juice was $4! Our server was in dreamland and didn't refill empty coffee or water glasses until we asked after a long wait for her to come back. This was NOT a $20+ breakfast. Food bad, service worse.

Food is always incredible, haven't had anything that wasn't amazing. Make sure you get the olives, they are the best thing on the menu!

Beautiful restaurant, tucked under the Hotel Ballard. Went here for a business meeting when a wine maker was in town and I was looking to wow them. The menu has literally something for everyone, with house made pastas, wood-fired pizza, and a beautiful list of veggies. Most of the produce and meats come from more sustainable vendors. The bar and wine list matched the rest of the restaurant, and we peaked at their private event space above the Hotel Ballard. It's gorgeous.

I have been here several times for brunch after that some friends of mine made me discover this cozy place. I loved their burgers. The staff was so kind and friendly!

Highly recommend reservations. Have been here several times. Everything we have tried has been great. The bar has a great atmosphere and sitting in front of the huge oven watching the food be made is fun. Have brought people here and all have loved it.

Great pizza. Nothing more to say. Excellent service by Alexandra. Nice bottle of red to compliment the calabrese peperroni pizza with added onions. Excellent!!

Great food. Convenient to the Hotel Ballard, the best hotel in Seattle, by far. Good drinks, good pizza, nice people

Horrible experience. Rude stuff and greas overprized food. Will never return. Just a huge disappointment.

This is a place we had written off after our initial visit six months ago. Whoooa, every place needs a second chance, so happy we did!!! Brunch was just delightful with unique cocktails and breakfast items. My Porcheta steak and eggs was just super!!! My wife loved her Dutch Baby (please purchase some syrup) was quite enjoyable. We WILL be back & recommend that you all do too. One negative, this neighborhood has gotten so popular with tremendous restaurants, parking can be a challenge. Worth the trouble though.

Nice Ambiance...bar and restaurant ...check the hours they are open.Their tuna appetizer with chips was yummy!

Maybe I ordered the "wrong" thing, but pizza was fair. , not a lot of flavor. Kale salad tasted like citronella. On the good side...carrots, crispy olives and cauliflower ravioli...I had tastes of dining mates. The waiter was fawning rather than professional. The cheese and ham/prosciutto plate at nearby table looked good. A bit pricey for what we got.

Very good in every way. Impressive decor in a beautiful room. Atmospheric and comfortable seating. Food of high quality and cocktails to die for. According to the husband the local beer was pretty good too.

Had a wonderful dinner for four here. We were quite the high maintenance group- one gluten-free, one no seafood, one no-carb and one regular diner. Stoneburner had no problems adjusting each entree to suit the group. We started with razor thin prosciutto and mozz stuffed fried olives. Yum. We ordered 2 GF pasta dishes (one with a cilantro pesto carbonara sauce and one with pecorino and fresh crab). All pastas, including the GF ones were housemade, delicious and perfectly cooked. We also had a super juicy thick pepper-crusted prok chop. Accompanying veggies included charred broccolini and charred cauliflower with a spicy pepper paste. The huge wine list had several hundered wines with perhaps 100 italian wines including a huge swath of sangiovese and nebbiolo. We were unfamiliar with all of them so we discussed with the sommelier what styles and flavors we liked and she selected one that we absolutely loved. (Can't remember the name!). We were too stuffed for dessert, but they looked great. Next time we visit Seattle, we will certainly return to Stoneburner and maybe try to book a room in the boutique luxury Hotel Ballard upstairs.

We had our best meal, in a weeks worth of great meals, here! The vegetables and salads were superb!! As a cheating vegan, it was a treat to have such wonderful choices. Vegetables are usually viewed by restaurants as a side item, here they take center stage with all the typical carnivore options. Dining as it should be, great choices for everyone!

We were with friends and we had a wonderful dinner as well as delicious cocktails and good wine. It is a very happening place. Loud and a little warm but the food was tasty.

Noisy and crowded. We really didn't like the high tables. They have a bar in the middle of the table which is made for pizza. It doesn't enable much roof for anything else.

We just took a chance on this place because the pizza looked good. It was delicious! Fresh ingredients and was so good. The best thing was the Beet Salad that we got. Not what we thought it would be, but turned out to be fun to try something new and different that was delicious!

My hubs and I took a friend from overseas in for dinner. The food was Delish and thoughtful. I appreciate the focus on seasonal local ingredients. Nice vegetarian options. The restaurant is lively, cozy and well appointed. Jonathan and Sebastian are so gracious and gave stellar service, attentive yet never overbearing. I highly recommend and look forward to another meal (brunch looks great!) soon.

Great happy hour food with great wait staff. We ordered the pizzas and they were great both times. Knowledgeable bar staff!

It's a gorgeous room with a huge, curving bar that fills up most of the room, with tables around the edges. Wild light fixtures, old-fashioned stamped tin ceiling and elaborate moldings. There's standard outdoor seating, covered, by the sidewalk, but also tables technically indoors, but with huge windows that can be opened to make them feel outdoors. It has an excellent list of craft cocktails, plus a huge list of spirits. I had a Savannah daisy - gin, elderflower, lemon, peach, and strawberry shrub. A bit sweet but not cloying. Also a huge wine list by the bottle, but fairly limited by the glass. No California chardonnay by the glass, but whatever the server suggested as a substitute (I've forgotten details) worked out fine. I had two small plates. The scallops with crispy shiitake mushrooms were delicious, but a small portion (as expected). I also had the tempura squash blossoms, which were really good, but maybe not the perfect choice for one person with a small appetite: I love tempura, but this (four large blossoms) was a LOT of tempura batter. The server was very nice and helpful.

A MUST try if you are in the Ballard area for brunch. Great service, drinks, and food. I split the breakfast pizza and a side of crispy pecorino potatoes with a friend and we didn't leave a crumb behind. Drinks are a little pricey for the size, but they are strong. Also Stoneburner is in a great location, once you finish brunch you are just steps away from the Ballard Farmers Market.

This was a completely random find for us - we were in Ballard and hungry and there it was. Good reviews so we gave it a try. We were there in the late afternoon and were in time for happy hour. There's a limited menu then, but we split two pizzas between the three of us and they were outstanding! We had one with fresh mozzarella and the other with morels (wild mushrooms) and golden potatoes. Sounds weird but it was delicious. As good as the pizzas were, the kale salad may have been my favorite. Thinly sliced kale with mustard vinaigrette, pumpkin seeds - really good. The service was great - friendly, personable, quick, efficient. The atmosphere was very nice - brick walls, lots of wood, very airy but warm feeling too. Can't wait to go back!

Grabbed dinner here on Friday night with cousins. We ordered food to share and were not disappointed. I especially excited to see cloth napkins and drinks served with stainless steel straws... good food and sustainable practices is a win-win in my book. We ordered the beet appetizer which came with avocado hummus. It was delicious! I had the mafalda pasta which was basically grown up mac and cheese. My cousins had a pasta special which had lamb in it. We ate it all. We also ordered a potato and mushroom pizza. My cousin grabbed the first piece and found a hair in it... our waitress didn't hesitate to take the pizza away and make us another one when we told her. She apologized profusely. The new pizza that came was delicious. We somehow had room for dessert and ordered the cherry crostata and strawberry ice cream sandwiches. Both were delicious! Great atmosphere, wonderful food and terrific service!!

This place was terrific! The food was cooked expertly and it was a pleasure to be able to choose slightly offbeat options that aren't your typical brunch. Coffee was the real deal. We were all really happy with our meal. In a city full of great food this place stands out. Can't wait for the next meal there.

The three of us shared several dishes which is the way to go if you want to sample several items. The Orecchiette pasta was superb, the Fontina Fonduta pizza vey good and the Dutch Fries were great. A lot of food, we didn't have room for desert.

Stopped by for an early dinner. They have amazing pizzas. Perfect crust, fresh ingredients. Great tasting. I'd eat my weight in their pizza. The cocktails were just alright...nothing spectacular, but they had good wine selections. Loved the decor and the layout of the space. I would definitely go back over and over and over. Definitely check out when in Ballard. Note that this is a busy place. Reservations in advance are a smart thing, otherwise be prepared to wait 45 minutes or thereabouts for a table.

I've done my best to be more critical when it comes to reviewing restaurants... but Stoneburner seriously blew it out of the park for a genuine dining experience. My whole group left so impressed with the food, drink, ambiance and waitress that we couldn't keep our mouths shut about it! To start we had a 1.5 hour wait to get seated, which worked splendidly because we always like to hit up at least 1-2 other places in the neighborhood to try drinks while we wait and we had tons of great choices. Once it was our time, we waited a little extra to get a seat in a cool booth. We were even gifted a piece of salami from the meat cutting station gentleman after we gushed about how impressive precise he plated the meat for the charcuterie boards. Then after being seated, our waitress wowed us the entire evening. She would dive in to tell about specials, recommend wine pairings and give stories on the amazing decoration throughout the restaurant. All of my party mentioned how she almost felt like a member of our dinner party and not a waitress. So great! And the food... I don't even know how to give it to honor it deserved. They advise eating most things family style - which we obviously did. Their menu is seasonal and changes often depending on local veggie/meat offerings. I was honestly pretty sad we were only a party of three and we couldn't try more. We had a sample off the cheese and charcuterie menu, the roasted cauliflower and two unbelievable pasta dishes. We also shared a bottle of wine that I was able to sample in their Pinot noir flight - to.die.for! Check out the label and be sure to get it when you're in... such a beautiful wine. I can't say enough on how amazing this experience was. This is what restaurants should provide in a dining experience. I'd give more stars if I could. I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu!

What a pleasant evening we shared dining at Stoneburner in Ballard. While the restaurant was full and on a wait, we were able to grab two seats located at a dining bar up against the kitchen. Make sure you reserve a table rather than walking up. We had ringside seats do to speak watching the kitchen prepare every dish and the sous chefs ensuring each plate was just as ordered. The chefs also we talkative with those of us seated at the dining bar as they worked. The good was delicious, especially the oven roasted vegetables and pizzas. We also shared the steak entree as well as salad. The service was attentive and professional. The staff was also very helpful to work with my dietary restrictions. The staff was also helpful in beverage suggestions to go with our meal. We look forward to stopping in again fir another wonderful meal.

Had a most excellent brunch, and had a pasta carbonara dish that was really good. Good cocktails. Keen, very good staff, but prepare for a bit of a wait between orders and delivery.

This was my third visit and each time this place has gotten increasingly snotty and pretentious. I like the fried olives, but the the other 6 small plates we 5 shared were really not good at all. I liked this place the first time, was a little surprised it had slipped the second visit, and was angry at the end of the 3rd. Overpriced and not good is bad enough, but acting like they are doing you a faowlvor if you ask for salt and pepper. Then the salt came in a small bowl and the only way they would give me pepper was if they ground it for me. If the food had a more flavor, I wouldn't have needed condiments, but the food was not favorable at all. Hated my experience and saved the evening by going to the Pie Bar in Ballard for dessert. Now that was great.

We were blown away by the incredible service and attention to our needs and service. Everything from the pizza to the asparagus to the chicken was outstanding. Highly recommend to locals and visitors.

Enjoyed the innovative decor, although it was pretty noisy with all those hard surfaces. Food options were interesting, and went well beyond Pizza. Particularly liked the opportunity to order charcuterie and cheese as appetizers, and then move on to the main event. Between us we had pizza, pasta, and meatballs, all of which were very good.

I only sat at the bar, but it was wonderful. We tried the smoked tuna dip with sweet potato chips. It was delicious!! I would never think to put the two together, but it works. Cute little restaurant

Great wine selection and local beers. Good happy hour foods. We did not stay for dinner, but restaurant looked great. Part of the Ballard Hotel.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit to Stoneburner. Our server explained that the interior is designed with refurbished items from around the country. It's a little bit of a hodge podge, but it totally works. The bar is a happening place and the seats and pretty comfy. The blackberry shrub soda is a great non-alcoholic choice and the happy hour carafe of wine comes with a seriously reasonable price of $10. We ordered their porchetta pizza and it was pretty tasty. All of the staff there were friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed ourselves.

We went to Stoneburner based on reviews. Oh my! We had wonderful service by Lucy, and she knew the menu! We selected different dishes and she suggested additions which were so wonderful. She went out of her way to get us a dessert that had been taken off the menu. All the food was delicious and it is going to become a favorite of ours. The portion sizes were the perfect size and worth the money.

This place is an excellent location. In the same building complex as the Olympic Athletic Club. Nice spot to go for a drink after work or a gym visit. My favorite thing about Stoneburner was the very good service from the bartender

Went during brunch time and had the cucumber quinoa salad. It was light and refreshing on a very hot day. Service was perfect.

My husband and I were visiting Seattle for the weekend, and we had a long list of restaurants we wanted to try. Stoneburner wasn't originally on the list, but a review in the Seattle Times weekly caught our eye so we headed that way. I'm so glad we did or we would have missed the glorious grilled kale sandwich. Seriously y'all, it's fantastic. Only downside of the visit was that our server seemed a bit surly that we were sharing the entree- that's just how we eat, so we can save room for dessert, coffee and cocktails- so we don't give her high marks. But don't let that stop you- go for the sandwich. Now.

I have been meaning to write a review on Stoneburner for a little while as we (wife and I) have dined there twice over the last couple of months. I just could not recommend this restaurant more strongly. We dine out frequently and this restaurant is one of our absolute favorites. From the moment you arrive you are met with three things - (1) brilliant, friendly and helpful staff who are interested in making your night memorable and fun (2) hubbub and atmosphere - there is a buzz - noise - laughter .....great atmosphere on both sides of the restaurant and (3) smell - the aroma from the kitchen is awesome !! The food is excellent and there is a very extensive drinks list including a super knowledgeable sommelier who will help you with wine choices for the table (and meal). We were not rushed at any point in either visit. Great dining experience - love it !

This place simply rocks in all aspects, from the food to the drinks and the service. We spent 2 nights at the adjacent hotel, the Hotel Ballard. Each evening we spent time enjoying delicious cocktails made by Donnie and Kyten. These two guys are amazing, and truly know their way around a bar! Try the Pink Passion! The Charcuterie platter is to die for! The mustards that accompany the meat and cheeses are delicious. We can't wait to return, I want to try everything on the menu!

Simply put - had an awesome meal at Stoneburner. It was our first time here and from the moment we walked in the door the staff was extraordinarily friendly - the hostess was great in keeping us apprised during what turned out to be a short wait. Our waitress, Maryam was awesome. She really explained the menu and specials And made some great recommendations. Oh by the way - the food was awesome. The braised short rib with ricotta pasta was to die for. From start to finish - we had a great experience!

From the outside it looks like a bit of a hole in the wall in Ballard. Inside it is lovely and we sat at the bar for dinner. They have a huge wood fired oven where most of the dishes are cooked. We started dinner with a cocktail, there are many interesting ones on the menu to choose from. Then pizza and roasted brussel sprouts to share, both were delicious. Finally everyone around us was ordering donuts for dessert, so we decided to try them as well. YUM - warm, sugary, and carmel/coffee dipping sauce. The bartender gave a glasses of muscat to go with them. What a treat. One of my favorite places to go in Ballard.

Was invited to brunch here! Had a wonderful experience, wonderful polenta and broccoli for my spouse, and the best burger I have ever had with fontina cheese and pickled cayenne peppers! So nice, beautiful decor, excellent service!

The catch of the day was awesome! Our waiter was very good and provided us with fantastic recommendations.

Very expensive and very small portions. Food was decent, but I wouldn't rave about it. If you want to just get drinks and are staying at the Hotel Ballard, it's convenient. Wasn't my favorite in the area.

I stay in the area when I go to Seattle to visit family and have also had a drink here, which have been pretty good. I stopped for dinner, and while the food was delicious (fresh oysters and a flavorful fish stew), the service was less than. The staff stopped by to see if I needed another drink is all and not that I need them for friends, but they seemed unconcerned. They didn't have an oyster fork for the oysters or horseradish/cocktail sauce, just the mignonette, so I used the regular fork, which they whisked off. I had to ask for another one, which came, er, later. The hot toddy was overly lemony and had nothing else in it except the whiskey. I might try this again for dinner--not sure.

Located on the ground floor of the beautiful Hotel Ballard, this restaurant has delicious wood fire burning pizzas and handmade pastas! On a gorgeous night the windows will all be open to look out on historic Ballard. Great cocktails, good service, this is a fun restaurant to go for a nicer evening out.

Stoneburner has a friendly, informative staff and a menu with interesting appetizers, salads, pizzas, small and large plate selections. All four pizzas our table ordered were delicious, as were the salads (caesar and snap pea) and the roasted broccoli. Good selection of local craft brews on tap. Definitely will return.

A simple brunch for four should not be $200 without the tip. The prices of the food served here are not substantiated by the quality/quantity of the dishes, the ambiance nor the service. The food is average at best. A business charges what the market will bear, and it seems that is working for this establishment. Customers, however, can learn from their own experience or that of reviewers.

Love the atmosphere. The drink menu has options that all look delicious. We didn't try the food but the bar was outstanding.

Went to dinner here twice in last few weeks. Great service and engaging and knowledgable waiters. Delicious food, great for sharing. Reservations recommended, but if you don't have one, they take walk-ins - you may have to wait, but it will be worth it, and there are many nice nearby places to get a drink while waiting.

Great atmosphere, attentive staff, and fantastic food! I hadn't been to Ballard before, and I really enjoyed wandering the neighborhood and finding this great restaurants. What was especially nice is that the pasta dishes were perfectly sized -- not the giant portions so many restaurants serve that result in taking half of your dinner home. Since I was traveling and it was my last night before leaving Seattle, I really appreciated not wasting money on excess food I wouldn't be able to eat. I got a pesto pasta special, and the pesto was delicious. Their selection of craft beers was good, and the outdoor seating is great for people-watching. I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner here and would visit again the next time I'm in Seattle.

Quick visit with friends and enjoyed a lovely burger. Server was great and would definitely return. The brunch dishes that were coming out of the kitchen looked ace! Nice decor and felt relaxed.

While struggling with deciding what I was in the mood to eat, I stumbled upon this place. My server was extremely helpful in explaining the menu, as there are some unique items. I got the snap pea salad and ciabatta bread--both amazing! I ended up with dessert too--the chocolate caramel cake with peanut butter ice cream is a must!! I thought it would be too rich, but it was perfect!!

Top quality food, and artisan made cocktails. We were delighted with everything we ordered. Starting with the meat and cheese plate was excellent!!! The gentleman makin our cocktails was Eric. He was professional and friendly. Atmosphere was lively and vibrant. A must try when in Ballard.

We had family visiting from Switzerland, decided to give stoneburner a try for brunch. We all were very pleased with the selection of old favorites with a big twist! We all agreed that the flavors of our dishes were excellent. Nothing better than fresh squeezed grapefruit juice and good coffee to accompany my big toast breakfast... I plan on returning in a near future.

Since moving to Seattle this is the first place I ever ate. It is attached to the really nice Ballard hotel. We have been going to this place ever since. We don't make a res we just pull up a seat at the "Cheer's" style bar. They will service the full menu at the bar. The bartenders are very friendly and love to chat with you when they have a minute to breath. Never mind the great drinks they make!! We always start with the cold cuts & cheese plate which is not service on a plate but a wooden board. You can pick the cold cuts and the cheese you prefer in the same way as you do for sushi. All the meat and cheese is locally made and some I believe they make. It is paired with a relish, grilled crusty bread, and mustard. Lately, that is all I have and maybe a salad. My husband really enjoys their pizzas. Cooked in a real brick pizza oven. And if you like thin crust that is how they make all the pizzas. For a nice easy night and great tasting food you wouldn't go wrong here. And sit at the bar it is fun.

Jason Stoneburner has a attention to detail. His wine list is amazing. Try the brick chicken....OMG. Happy hour is highly recommended

Four of us went here for dinner on a holiday and experienced problems with food, service and ambiance. When we arrived with a reservation, we waited for almost 10 minutes before the hostess, who was standing in front of us, found time to seat us with menus Then we waited about 15 minutes before a server came. She proceeded to take our order without writing it down, an approach that often fails. A comped small bowl of delicious fried olives arrived as an apology for the wait time. The correct starters came and included octopus and a salad. One piece of the octopus was perfectly cooked; the other had the consistency of (and tasted like) rubber. The mostly lettuce salad had a fiery vinaigrette dressing that detracted considerably from the fresh ingredients. When the mains were delivered, my husband looked in disbelief at the meatballs placed in front of him. That's because he had ordered chicken. Our server took the meatballs but soon returned them to be comped by the restaurant as something for him to eat while waiting for his chicken. I sampled one and thought it was quite good as was my grilled King salmon. But our dining companions struggled with their shared pizza. It had lots of inedible raw instead of cooked potatoes as a topping. The chicken eventually came but the meatballs had been consumed by then. Most of the bird, deemed good, ended up in a take-home box. After we asked for the bill, two small comped plates arrived -- perhaps because of the pizza. I couldn't understand what our server said because the room was so noisy. One was savory (a dish of cooked carrots) and the other sweet (a chocolate cake with ice cream). Many of the carrots were almost raw and the cake was stale -- not that we said anything at that point as we had not ordered these. Through much of the evening, heat combined with noise to make sitting there an unpleasant experience. My husband had called earlier in the day -- one of the hottest of the year -- to ensure that Stoneburner would be using air conditioning in the evening and would not have its big street-side windows open. As soon as the sun set, however, the A/C went off and the windows were opened. Certainly the restaurant tried to make up for its failings with comped food, and we were most appreciative of this. But there are far too many places to eat in the area with consistently good food and service for us to return here.

Well Ballard Ave. is a wonderful hopping place to evenings: it is so lively it feels like the good parts of Paris! Friends and I had dinner this week at the Stoneburner and we were very impressed. We had a very interested fried olive entree, which was fabulous, as was the bread, bean salad and pasta special (fettuccine ). The pasta sauce was excellent. The whole experience was great.

A pretty place with friendly server, but though it was virtually empty, it was too loud for our party to hear without really trying. Pizza was soggy on the bottom and burnt at the edge. Charcuterie was very nice, with 2 cheeses and meats. Farro went over well with the table, though too spicy for some. Nothing on the dessert menu even vaguely appealed. Go here for a drink, but don't go too far into the food

tried a selection of just about everything, loved the portion sizes, quality not quantity. flavours, ambience all perfect !

The food is creative, well presented and exceptionally good. I would go out of my way to visit this restaurant again.

Went to Stoneburner for dinner with almost no prior knowledge of what to expect. I was becoming a little desperate to reserve a place for V-Day and the good reviews made me pull the trigger. It turned out to be an excellent choice. The ambiance is hip, but not trying too hard. It walks the line between not feeling too fancy looking, but still being a place you could dress up for. I like the dim lighting and the bar looks great. Cocktails were phenomenal and the bartenders looked like real pros, who took their craft seriously. Wine list is also extensive. As soon as our first few dishes started coming in, we knew we were in for a good night. The watermelon beet salad was one of the most interesting dishes I have tried in a while. Great flavors, textures and taste. The lamb carbonara was a touch on the salty side, but still delicious (also love the presentation with the raw egg on top). This place really knows how to make veggies shine, as the roasted artichoke was full of flavor. By the time our pizza came in, we were starting to struggle to keep it all in, but couldn't refuse it given how good it was. On the constructive side, some of our dishes could have been better staggered throughout our meal, as they would have been warmer when we were ready to get to them. Our waiter was friendly and very helpful, but perhaps a little too casual. All things considered, great place for a date night.

We knew we were in the right place when our waitperson began describing the menu. He told us they were known for their vegetables and salads, and rightfully so, the carrots and grilled baby artichokes were amazingly tasty with delicious but not overwhelming seasoning /sauce. We were sharing small plates, and the brined pork chop arrived sliced for our convenience, cooked perfectly. The room wasn't noisy, we had reserved early, and we even found parking right at the door of the restaurant in parking challenged Ballard I'd like to further comment on the excellent waitperson. He would appear when we needed something, and not hover around during the other times. Really excellent humorous, intelligent, efficient service. Not inexpensive, not empty your wallet expensive, casual but didn't realize it was also a pizza serving place.

This review is based on a Sunday brunch. Stoneburner's's is located next to the relatively new Ballard Hotel. The brunch items were not only excellent, but also they were a blend of unusual combinations of flavors and food. Based on the regular menu, it appears that this approach is the norm. The "mother" restaurant of Stoneburner is just up the street, but for the moment at least Stoneburner appears less crowded. An interesting Sunday can be started with brunch at the restaurant (it opens at 1000), then a visit to the Ballard Market (one of Seattle's finest) on the same street. We would highly recommend.

Wine list is over the top for a pizza joint. So is the ambiance. So is the service. So is the food! Good date spot. Some tables open onto the street. Burrata app was good- able to make it gf with sweet potato chips. Non-GF Pepperoni pizza was great- dough is tasty! No gluten free pizza crust, but most pastas available gluten free. And they have budino, but apparently lots of the menu is rotating... I'll go back!

Nothing to diss; I love the proximity to the street, open windows, downtown Ballard, and a menu that invites exploration and temptation, You can order a little bit of this, a little of that, all good, and done to your request. Great wines and beers and actually a family friendly bistro, but be prepared to pay. Well, it is Seattle and it is worth it. Go online to look at the choices. Your will go back.

Good food and service. I was just in for an appetizer and a beer and it as very nice. A little pricey.

I was recommended this place and it didn't disappoint. The staff went above and beyond to look after me. This is my first review for a restaurant and that should say something. The atmosphere was great and the food was to die for. I will be recommending this place to anyone I know visiting Seattle. Thanks for a perfect dining experience.

Wandered in here thinking it was part of the Hotel Ballard and wow what a find! Just a great collection of food and drink, awesome staff, and great vibe. I will certainly be back here on my next visit to the Seattle area. We arrived at Happy Hour and ended up staying for two hours plus slowly eating our way through various sections off the menu. Great concept and execution!

Came here for an impromptu dinner on Aug 19. Service and drinks were good, food way too pricey though. $18 for an appetizer-size plate of rigatoni? Seriously? C'mon!

We were staying at the hotel right next to the Stoneburner. The atmosphere and decor is very nice. However, came here for dinner one night and found the menu to be very limited and the food just so so. My husband really did enjoy the pizza though. I had a bite and would agree it was really good.

My wife and I stayed in the amazing Hotel Ballard attached to the restaurant and the front desk recommended the restaurant. We sat at the beautiful bar and the food and drinks were absolutely phenomenal, however as restaurant owners, we were not satisfied with the level of customer service provided. Only seven people including my wife and I were sitting at the bar and it took several waves in the direction of the bartender to grab his attention from talking with his coworkers so we can order additional items. Overall the restaurant, food and drinks were absolutely amazing, but service was not.

Arrived tired after a long day of travel at Ballard Hotel on same property . Decided to eat in the restaurant as we didn't feel up to leaving the premises. I had the pork chop which was thick and juicy and an excellent value for the money. No bread or rolls were offered. when we ordered bread it arrived grilled and burnt. Since it was Friday night and the restaurant was crowded and busy we overlooked the burnt bread. We would eat there again if in the area.

Stoneburner is an excellent restaurant. The cooking is very good, particularly with vegetables. The bar area is spectacularly designed and all of the servers we interacted with were professional and friendly.

Felt a little small/crowded even though no one was really there. Just had a drink then left. Moscow Mule did not taste right and the martini wasn't very good either.

My daughter made reservations for Mother's Day, but I'm certain you would need them any day of the week. It's a popular venue, and it takes a long time to get served. The pizza was a total yawn with very thin crust, okay mozzarella and burnt basil. It just didn't have much flavor in the sauce. Other options for vegetarians and gluten free were eggs and small salads. So, besides the nice drinks and healthy grain salads, I didn't find the menu offered much for our non-carnivores.

Unique layout with large, open pizza oven. My second time there. Food always good. Restaurant is very popular with the locals too.

We ordered 6 different items (starters, small and large plates) from the menu and not one of them was above average in taste or presentation. Service and ambience were good. Wine list is outrageously expensive. Our group of five collectively were unimpressed and recommend that you explore other options for an expensive night out.

I hate writing bad reviews and I rarely do but…Tourist trap. Ridiculously overpriced wine list and mediocre food. We would have had a better experience down the street at Ballard Pizza. I know my way around a wine list… the mark up was astronomical. $80 for an Oregon Chardonnay???? Seriously? … wow. $17 for a 5ounce pour of mediocre Sauvignon Blanc. Pizza ho hum… pasta dish - undercooked cold, kid meal sized and unappetizing otherwise. Olive appetizer had absolutely no flavor. Spouse’s 16 ounce beer….. quite small… almost asked to measure it…We don’t get many opportunities these days for a night out. This was a big fail.

We entered here at 1:50 p.m. on a Saturday, expecting standard brunch fare. Instead, we found a menu full of intriguing, unusual offerings. At first I couldn't decide what to choose because nothing instantly appealed. The chef had definitely stopped outside the box and I wondered if this had been a successful move. After receiving our orders, however, my husband and I agreed that the kitchen rocks. I chose the smoked tuna dip with soft herbs and pickled watermelon relish, accompanied by sweet potato chips ($16). The mound of big elongated chips proved to be the best I've ever tasted. My husband took one off my plate, then another and another and another until I had to say, "Enough, already." The smoked tuna mixture was not a true dip but rather had a consistency that could be eaten with a fork or spooned onto a chip. It was full of flavor and absolutely delicious. My husband opted for crispy polenta cake with grilled broccoli and poached eggs ($16). I sampled his choice and declared it a winner. Everything tasted heavenly and the perfectly poached eggs appeared in an unusual spherical shape. For dessert, I chose a piece of carrot cake ($10). My husband said he would have a bite, but he consumed almost half the slice. That was fine because of the huge portion. I have never seen such a large slice of cake in a restaurant. It proved to be fresh, not overly sweet and another winner. Our server was a delight. She remained attentive throughout our stay, answered questions in a pleasant, helpful manner and was prompt in getting our food to us. The large space holds a 20s style decor with a modern twist. An open kitchen runs along one side of the room. There are two levels with high tables, standard tables and booths. We sat at a standard table by a bank of windows that overlook Ballard Avenue. When we visited, only about six other tables were occupied,so it was not noisy. Customers ranged from young families to seniors. Brunch is offered on Saturday and Sunday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Paid parking is available along Ballard Avenue. But we found a free space on a nearby side street.

The atmosphere is fantastic. The service was excellent. Everything we ordered was delicious. I hope everyone enjoys this place as much as we did.

located in the hotel that we were staying, we so enjoyed a wonderful dinner with small plates with our daughter & son-in-law. Dinner was so delicious

Visited for Sunday morning brunch. A really good menu selections including good gluten free options. A particular treat for me the breakfast pizza which there are 2 choice. The sausage and egg pizza so good in fact everybody was really pleased with the rustic breakfast style offerings. Hearty and delicious with good coffee. The server relaxed welcoming and always willing to check gluten free content in menu selections.

We chose this restaurant based on the ratings in Tripadvisor. While the menu choices were unique and tasty we found the overall selection was quite limited. The service, once we were noticed was good....we just had to wait a bit too long for the first glass of water!

A great location in the middle of downtown Ballard, next to The Hotel Ballard. Great drinks, food and attentive service. Their pizza's and charcuterie platter is a great way to start off a meal. Their pasta dishes, which we ordered three different pastas and shared were very tasty and fresh. By the way their cocktails were great, bourbon old fashions for us and the wine somm was great and guided us to a super Sicilian red that was perfect with our pastas and wallet.

During our visit to Ballard we had a few cocktails here. Bartendars are great, drinks are average to above average in price. Food looked good, but we were only there for beverages.

My daughter just recently had her wedding at Hotel Ballard, which was catered by Stoneburners. Every little detail was handled impeccably. The service provided was way beyond our expectations and truly appreciated. And all our guests thoroughly enjoyed the food selections, from the salads, pasta, meat dishes to the desserts. I've eaten at Stoneburner a number of times and have never been disappointed. From a large wedding to an intimate time with friends having drinks and appetizers, Stoneburner will always be my first choice because of the excellent food and amazing service.

I had been wanting to try this place for a long time, and finally had the chance when we stayed at the Hotel Ballard. SO glad that we gave it a try because it was excellent! We had a selection of their wonderful meats and cheeses and a glass of wine while we perused the menu. Hubby started with the greens salad and said it was very fresh. Daughter and I had the snap pea salad, which was yummy. For main courses, hubby had meatballs and said they were scrumptious. Daughter had a great pizza and said the crust was perfect! I swear I almost cried when I saw the beautiful and delicate pea and mint ravioli and I savored every bite! I can’t believe we had any room left after all that, but we managed to each take a few bites of the cherry yogurt cake. Yum. Love the atmosphere - big open front windows on a sunny evening was lovely. And the service was fabulous- friendly and attentive, but at a relaxed pace. Loved everything about this place and would absolutely return!

We met some foodie friends who are regulars at Stoneburner for brunch, and we can see why! Attentive service, interesting and not your typical offerings that are very well prepared, and a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere for families and couples. The prices were reasonable, especially for the quality of the food. We definitely plan to return, and are looking forward to trying their dinner menu.

Had dinner here with friends. Didn't have reservations so we had a 45 minute wait. The bar was full so we went next door to The Gerald for drinks (which were great). They then texted us when out table was ready. Nice plates to share. The charcutaire was amazing and served on a cold stone so the thinly sliced meat didn't get gummed up. Shared pastas and they gave us a free salad as they ran out of the grilled octopus. Also gave us a small glass of a nice dessert wine gratis.

From the archetecture to the sweet service to the gastronomic delights, stone burner simply wowed us through our evening. The place is designed with an ecclectic set of vintage and antique finds. Beautifully creating an eye catching design. Our waitress was absolutely delightful. She was helpful not only with the menu and but reccomended all kinds of places to go in Ballard. The charcouterie board is excellent. Everything that came to the table was delicous! We loved this place.

The Stoneburner is connected to the Ballard Hotel and the Olympic Athletic Club. When the weather is nice they have front windows that fully open. The food and drinks but the service can be hit or miss.

Stoneburner has amazing original food (we shared the pea salad and lamb ragou...both were amazing!). Their sommelier made some excellent recommendations for wine, and we got the royal treatment. The service was excellent (both times!) and the food sublime. It is right in downtown Ballard, one of the most popular areas in Seattle. Highly recommend it.

Staying at the Hotel Ballard, we wandered into this place during their happy hour for cocktails. Their "mixologists" prepared some of the best cocktails we've ever had, and I'm an old bartender. Fresh takes on classics, like old fashions with different bitters and sweeteners had us there every afternoon during our stay.

We had a catered event at the Rooftop Pavilion and Stoneburner was excellent! The food was fresh and fun, the staff friendly and accommodating. They went out of their way to ensure our event was top notch. Would definitely host another event catered by them!

Attached directly to Hotel Ballard. It offered amazing choices that I enjoyed. I had 2 pizza's and a rabbit dish. Absolutely amazing!

Arrived in Ballard and needed a small bite to last us until dinner. Stoneburner has pizzas and salads during happy hour. We had a fresh pea pod salad and a pizza. Both were fantastic. Great bartender/server.

This is a really unique and interesting restaurant - you will find things done very well and on the cutting edge for neighborhood cuisine. We had cauliflower in romanesco sauce that was delicious; we had the potato, mushroom and onion pizza that had thistle that added a spicy touch - fantastic. Also had a nice beet salad, and a large piece of coconut cake with coconut ice cream for dessert. Wonderful experience.

Great appetizer and drink options however the entrees lack substance. Not a great value for the money.

Had drinks at the bar. Lovely bartender. (Short blonde hair with glasses. She and the staff made us feel like we where there personal guest! Would have loved to eat there. Busy night.

The atmosphere was lively and appealing, particularly when the large sliding glass doors were opened on a sunny day. The server was attentive and nice. The rigatoni was excellent and the pepperoni pizza was very good. It is pricey and the menu is quite limited but you got quality.

I've been to Stoneburner a few times for their happy hour and breakfast and while the food is awesome and the happy hour specials are a great deal, nothing has been as great as their charcuterie and the octopus my boyfriend and I had for dinner a few weeks back! First of all, the octopus is so well prepared and it was his first time trying and he loved it too. The charcuterie options were extensive and they gave us a few extra things and also came out and explained what's what and how they prepare some of the meats in house! Would highly reccomend this to anyone who loves charcuterie and in general, great food!

We went with my son's family the other night to this upscale place in downtown Ballard. And from the moment we sat down I knew that we were in for a wonderful dining experience. From the appetizers (We had the caprese flatbreads, which were awesome, and the garlic bread, also amazing, as well as the tuna spread, which my son liked.) Then came the main courses and sides: a rich, creamy pasta dish (one of the best tasting I've ever had) and the salmon, which was the best I've ever had. It was served on a bed of sautéed mushrooms and greens, which enhanced the flavor of the salmon perfectly. We also had the braised broccoli (fantastic flavor) and the cheese pizza (not NY perfection on the crust, but a delicious flavor on the sauce, cheese and toppings.) The only three items that I would not rave about were the olive appetizer, the beet salad, and the caesar salad, which my daughter-in-law, who's vegetarian ordered, but found out that there were fish scales added to the topping, which you could taste. But these dishes in any other restaurant would have been fine. They just didn't compare to the stellar quality of the other items that we sampled. I'd go back here in a heartbeat!

Our entire experience from start to finish was horrible. Made a reservation for 5:45, and were seated, albeit with apologies, at 6:05. Waited at least 10 more minutes for anyone to come by and grab out drink/appetizer order. Had our drink/appetizer order taken and the drinks arrived but no appetizer. The drinks were very small. The dinner arrived and all the bowls of pasta were so small. I had the pasta with acorn squash and there was literally a cup of pasta and not one piece of squash, or color of squash to be had. The sauce did not have any flavor at all and was the consistency of glue. Our server never came back to check on our meals, so I could not ask for salt/pepper or tell her how awful the $30.00 bowl of pasta was. My daughter had the gnocci and it was bland and also quite a small amount for $28.00. We had almost finished dinner when they brought our "garlic bread" appetizer which consisted of two hunks of crusty bread so hard it cut 3 of the 5 people's mouths. No garlic flavor to be had. Someone at our table remarked it was just like eating a pumice stone. Service was mediocre at best, food was horrible, prices were outrageous for what you got. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. There are so many other places with homemade pasta and wood fired pizza with great service and larger portions.

Great atmosphere wonderful food. Enjoyed sitting at a booth with an open window. Great for people watching! Have the Snap peas you won’t be disappointed! Pizza was lovely. I’ll definitely be back!

We have eaten at Stoneburner when we visited Ballard in August. Our son had them cook the food for his September wedding at the Ballard Hotel. Everyone continues to rave about the excellent food presented at the wedding dinner. It was fresh, well presented and absolutely top quality. Salads, main dishes and desserts were excellent !! I do not know how they were able to serve such outstanding food to such a large group and make the food as if it was fresh cooked for each individual. Granted it was served on platters family style but was beyond our expectations in everyway !!

My wife, daughter and I had reservations for dinner in the quaint Ballard neighborhood. Stoneburner had been recommended to us and we gave it a try. The atmosphere was lively and the weather nice enough for some outdoor dining. We shared the Smoked Tuna dip with sweet potato chips along with our drinks and loved it. We decided to eat the rest of our meal family style; ordering the fish of the day (King Salmon), Charred Broccoli, Roasted Beets and Capunti (pasta with sausage). All of the dishes were very good, but the salmon was perfectly cook and delicious.

From a demanding BBQ cooker/lover I can tell the pork chop was cooked on perfection! The restaurant is very nice, and the attention was great! I tried the pizza also very good, and the cesar salad! Strongly recommended average dish price around $30-38.

First time visit after a recommendation from a foodie. Extensive Italian wine list (3 pages of Nebbiolos). Great values for Barolos, variety of vintages. Sommelier presented wine and decanted, great wine service. Charcuterie and ciabatta bread were fantastic. Homemade pastas are a must! Ordered a grilled octopus that never made it to the table. Server acknowledged that it was his fault, but never really apologized or offered anything to make it right. Tiramisu was solid but not spectacular. Ordered a macchiato that was delicious, but did not arrive at the table until 10 minutes after we finished the desert. Server visited the table 3 times and kept saying it was on its way. Maybe it was just an off night for service.

Manager lies that all the tables are booked when it's not. There were many empty tables. All the outdoor tables were empty.

This was probably our favorite dinner of our trip out to the PNW! My fiancee and I shared the caesar salad and split a pizza (I believe sausage, but forget the exact name) and it was absolutely outstanding. The caesar salad had a little kick to it and we loved every bite. We sat at the bar and had drinks as well. It should totally be on your list of must-eats in Ballard!

We came on a Thursday night about 6:30. We were seated promptly and the waitress took over 15 minutes to come take a drink order. A couple in our party were still unsure, so she said she would come back in a minute. Another 20 minutes went by before she returned. We placed the drink orders and she immediately left, so fast that we were unable to let her know we were ready to order dinner as well. Another 20 minutes passed before she returned with the drinks and took our order. The food took a while to get, so we were sipping our drinks hoping to save them for with the food, it was that slow. The drinks and food were excellent, but the service was terrible.

First impression is that the restaurant is beautiful with lots of dark wood and glass; very European in influence. Sadly, the food doesn't correspond with the ambiance. First course-barolo & cherry mostarda / pickled shallot / smoked olive oil with burrata. The burrata was fine but the presentation was confused and lacking in hygiene as it was served on a wood board with a broad "schmear" of the mostarda. The favor was too overwhelming for the mild taste of the burrata. The special pasta of the evening was pasta with short ribs, charred radicchio and pecorino. Sounds good, right? I expected a delicious blend of the ingredients; however, there were small slices of short ribs, which weren't too bad actually, with over salted pasta and some glimpse of the other ingredients. The ingredients weren't integrated at all resulting in a very poor dish with bad visual appearance and taste. Given that they are known for their vegetables, we ordered the charred carrots and another dish of Brussels sprouts. The carrots were not only charred but completely mushy, not resembling their original appearance at all with an overabundance of nuts and a yogurt concoction. The sprouts were served in a black iron coquette, in which they couldn't be differentiated from their vessel, looking like black mush with a strong sulfur taste. The "highlight" of the evening was at the end of the meal, when we saw beading in the interior of the water carafe; upon further examination, we realized that the bottle hadn't been cleaned properly, and that there was a pool of oil floating inside on the water; clearly a hygiene issue. The manager was kind to listen to our comments and was quite gracious about the challenges with the food. Good place to go for drinks, maybe? Don't waste your money on the food.

We went to Stoneburner for another dinner and found again an interesting and compelling set of flavors with every dish. They rely on grilled and hot-oven made food which yields rich tasting but not fatty foods. The grilled broccoli was accompanied with a delicious tahini and I would definitely order this again. Even the ziti with sausage was surprisingly deep in flavor due to the flame oven finish. The chicken was covered in Moroccon flavored spices, moist and delicious. Attentive but not intrusive service. Lots of people in the restaurant, set within the heart of the Ballard neighborhood. You can't go wrong here - something for everyone. Pizzas, fish, meats, small plates, large plates, even interesting desserts.

Excellent service and great food. Ricotta coffee cake, parmesan biscuit with sausage gravy and “big toast” were all good.

We stopped in for a drink before heading to dinner with friends. The seating was all packed so we pulled up to the bar. The bartender was quick and helpful. We had wine and the deep fried olives (so so good!) Its a little pricier, so if you're looking for a happy hour special, you'll want to keep looking. It's absolutely a great atmosphere and a special place for a date!

Word of mouth was positive but I needed to have my own mouth experience the food and it was not disappointed. In the midst of an annual bicycle race around the old part of Ballard, the mood was festive with the windows opened wide onto Ballard Ave and the blur of bikers. The service was quick, efficient and friendly. Staff was knowledgeable having ready and witty replies to our questions. It's family style so I got a taste of everything that came to the table from a spicy cauliflower to a meaty octopus and an array of cheeses and meats and my own order of pizza which was among the best I've had in Seattle (and as a native New Yorker, I am very picky about pizza...no pineapples!) It's pricey but an evening with friends and/or family can outweigh the cost. I did feel it was worthwhile and will go back.

Visited here for the first time with son's family, server suggested our eating "family" style and it worked great! We enjoyed everything from fresh salads to meatballs to pizza and a variety of appetizers! Looking forward to another visit to sample the rest of the menu.

Stoneburner is very good for dining in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle. It is next to the Hotel Ballard. Cuisine is mostly Italian. Pizzas and pastas. Very good and attentive service. The place is packed so please make a resi. The fries and the tomato dishes were outstanding. Inside and outside service.

While this has been open three years we "found" it today and are so delighted we did Service fabulous and food amazing and ambience even better My biscuits and gravy were a notch above the normal and I would highly recommend them They cure their own meat so the bacon is to die for. Can't wait to visit during happy hour

I go to many new restaurants and Stoneburner is a solid choice. I have been twice now, and have had/tasted 9 different dishes...all of which are above average to excellent. Here's a run down. Cocktails: 8; tasty choices with unique liquors Apps: 7; grilled octopus was grilled and tasty, mozzarella filled olives were surprisingly fantastic, beet salad was another delightful surprise (I'm a carnivore and will order this again...but it's huge so share) Food: 8; rigatoni is a little spicy with great flavors, bucatini is out of this world good, meatballs are solid but you want more (get 4) Pizza: 7; pepperoni is a bit too spicy but the sausage is pretty good

Our party of three shared two pizzas and two generous Kale salads, and there were several pieces of pizza left to take home. We loved the combination of flavors on the salad – lacinato kale, shaved yellow beets, pumpkin seeds and goat cheese, with thin slices of parmesan on top. The dressing was a bit salty alongside the parmesan, but in all, we enjoyed it. And the thin-crust pizzas were delicious – the right amount of dough, so the crust didn’t overwhelm the toppings. Also, their ginger beer had a fruity flavoring – delicious!

We came here for lunch on a Saturday. The staff are very friendly and the food is wonderful. Unfortunately my order got significantly delayed, however the manager was very apologetic and firstly gave us free scones while we were waiting (delicious), and then wrote off our bill for us!! The food was delicious and original. We would definitely eat here again!

This restaurant was very well decorated. We went on a Saturday evening and it was very busy. The waiter didn't seem to get our order and the food was good.

Loved their side dishes, their fries, their salads, Forgot to get a main dish because all the sides were so good. Great bistro atmosphere on " the" street iin Ballard and really good wine by the glass.

The is a restaurant attached to a hotel, although it is easy not to realize it. We came on a Saturday and found that a brunch menu is being served. There is a very good wine list, as well as the sommelier assisted us to fine a very fine wine. All the dishes were well prepared and satisfying. The dining room is comfortable and the service is very good. If returning to Seattle, we will definitely return to Stoneburner.

Many thanks to the restaurant for taking care of our party of 12. Pizza's were delicious! Atmosphere and service were terrific!

A bit expensive but good food and good atmosphere. We got the pick 3 charcuterie board and it was delicious, but pricey. We also got the 4 Cheese pizza which was wonderful but seemed to be missing some flavor, like it could've used some garlic or more salt. But both were tasty.

We were a large group (really three small groups) that happened to eat together. It was a bit tricky to try to figure out how to split the bill since most of the dishes were for sharing. All very good - and I'd like to go back again. The pizzas were a big hit, and so were the burrata flatbread and the snap pea salad. Very nice location and a great feel to the room.

Some awesome small plates, tasty signature cocktails and a friendly staff make this a great destination. Our waiter in the bar (I believe it was Nathan) was very attentive despite our barrage of food and drink questions. The wife had pizza which was to die for. I enjoyed Octopus and a quinoa salad. Ballard is a great food neighborhood and Stoneburner is a great choice.

Visiting from out of town and had the fortune of finding Stoneburner. It would be great for a small group of friends because you could share more dishes. It was just two of us and we shared two small starters, a pasta dish and the pork chop. All were delicious beyond the description on the menu. The presentation of the ciabatta bread was wonderful - two huge toasted pieces of bread, and the accompanying goat cheese was fantastic. The ravioli with "bed sheet" noodles was beautiful and yummy. And the pork chop was quite the star of the menu - I'm glad our server pointed it out to us. It was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Great meal and highly recommended! For travelers, it's also in a really nice neighborhood with lots of shops and bars and would be great for lunch too.

We enjoyed our afternoon meal, and the variety of beers and wined available. Attached to the Hotel Ballard - has a beautiful inside and period architecture.

Ballard continues to amaze me. It has transformed from a blue collar working class neighborhood with very little retail to a hip and urbane destination in Seattle. One of the places helping it change is Stoneburner. Perfectly located on the "main drag" this place offers great vegetarian friendly food. Service is great. When a friend discovery they do not serve diet coke, the waitress offered to go to a bar down the street to get him one! That is dedication, but wouldn't it be easier to just offer Diet Coke? Either way, this place is great, well worth the visit

Stoneburner offers pizza, pasta and other Italian/ Italian fusion items in a nicely renovated space in Ballard. The highlight for me was the wine list, which had a lot of creative and interesting Italian wines. The food was good with the pizza and pasta being the stars. They focus on the charcuterie plate as an appetizer, but, while acceptable, I wasn’t blown away with this offering especially for the price. Service was a bit inconsistent with some staff being excellent while others were lacking in interpersonal skills. Overall a good experience with some minor drawbacks.

Fantastic food. The cocktails were delicious as well. But our server was one of the best I have ever had. Nine months pregnant yet still full of smiles, warmth and humor. Her descriptions of the food made you want to try everything. She really made the experience fantastic.

I've met here for business dinners several times now and it's been perfect every time. Fantastic food, a wine steward who is in a league of his own, and wait people with a smile and a knack for remembering your name - even after the first visit. The bar is a Ballard favorite. It's packed nightly with all age groups. A bit above average in price, but very worth the extra it will cost you. If you're single, it's a great place to meet people.

I cannot say enough good things about the meal I had at the Stoneburner this last weekend. I was staying at the Hotel Ballard and hesitant to go to the hotel restaurant because they are usually not that great. After hearing good things from others, we decided to give it a go and I'm SO glad we did. The idea is supposed to be -- you order a bunch of these small or large plates off the menu and everybody shares. Well, "large" really means small and the "small" plates are miniature. It's often hard to share among a party of 4 unless you take just a little spoonful as a taster. So, in my opinion, these plates are best shared between 2 or 3 people max. Either way, we just ordered up more and I have to say there was not one plate that wasn't incredible. We loved them all despite the fact the descriptions aren't all that clear about what you're getting. Just go with it! We tried a plate from at least each category except Pizza. DEVINE!! Expensive for the size of the plates that show up, I will say that, but the sauces tend to be rich and you do fill up pretty fast. The "Mafalde" pasta was a huge hit as were the "Roasted Heirloom Carrots". Stongly suggest reservations. I was hearing the hostess say "one hour wait" to any walk ins after 6:30pm.
Busy, Busy Saturday
Though it was cold, windy and wet outside the restaurant was warm and inviting. We sat at the "kitchen counter" as we love to watch the hustle and bustle of all the people preparing food. We ordered from the brunch menu. My husband asked for the burger to be cooked med-rare and it was done to perfection. He said the burger was very good. I ordered the roasted beet salad which was delish!!!! No time for dessert this trip. Dining was pleasant. The only negative of the experience was when we first arrived. Sign says"wait to be seated" and SEVERAL employees walked by us and never acknowledged us being there. Not good customer service.
