Friendly, energetic and delicious

By Philippe A |

Strada in the Grove delivers a great experience. The space is of moderate size and exudes energy from a combination of many local regulars and quite a few visitors to the Grove. The food trends Italian and the wine list is superb. Service is friendly and very personable. If you plan on being in the Grove in the evening, this is an excellent choice.

Amazing Food, Service to Match

By Courtt1 |

Strada in the Grove is both an inventive & authentic Italian /Mediterranean food based restaurant. The food is just simply delish and their wine selection is always superb. The service is also impeccable. Can’t say enough about Strada and their two sister Restaurants Farinelli and La Rue. The owners & managers are very visible and ensure a fab experience.

Delicious, Cool, Well Priced

By Jen M |

First - nice and cool inside - a great break from the Miami humidity! Second - very good service. Third - DELICIOUS! Everything we ordered was delicious and our server - Elliott, gave us great guidance when we couldn't decide between dishes. Will definitely visit again!

Frans is a great waiter/bartender

By Just-Say-it69 |

Great attention and service by Frans food was good but service was excellent. My dinner was not what I expected in flavor but the rest was very good and well done.

Fantastic setting!

By Pineapples-a-Plenty |

Upscale setting, that is intimate with lots of chemistry. A pleasant buzz throughout the restaurant, helped with the open air set up. Nice! As for the service, we were looked after nicely. Our waiter was on the spot with providing lots of attention, and great recommendations from the menu. Their menu got two thumbs up from us. We started with a delicious fish tartare, their display of olives, and a house wine that was just so-so. Our second bottle was a much better choice, an Argentine Malbec. Fabulous! Overall, an excellent choice ... we were delighted with the evening.

How does a bottle of wine go missing?

By Lana N |

Last night, my family had dinner there and ordered a bottle of wine. Nothing particularly expensive. The three people drinking had their glasses topped off a number of times. We then ordered a second bottle. We were each poured a few ounces of wine. The waiter took the second bottle back inside the restaurant with him. We thought nothing of it. However, about 20 min later, we realized that our glasses were empty and no one had been back to the table to refill them since the second bottle was uncorked. Based on the amount in the first bottle, we are confident they should have been able to refill our glasses. When we asked the waiter what happened to the rest of the bottle, he said that we finished it. Impossible. When we asked the manager what happened, he said that he would go and speak to the waiter. The manager returned and actually said, he (the waiter) says that's you finished it. We explained that this was impossible, and self-serving, but the manager said that the waiter told him it was gone and that's it. At no point did the manager try to fix the situation by, I don't know, apologizing or sending out a couple of glasses of wine, regardless of how cheap. Essentially, we were defrauded of the second bottle. The waiter then had the audacity to ask if we wanted a third. The lesson from all of this? It's your bottle of wine and it should be kept table side. Otherwise, it might disappear into thin air back inside kitchen. I've been there many times and the food is consistent. Of course, the wait staff is surly and slow, and the hostesses are rude. Customer service is something they've never heard of evidently. Or even honesty. I've overlooked those things in the past, but now I will never go back.

Great Italian cuisine

By FranknDebbie |

Fine food with interesting wine selections are this place's hallmark. The fried olive appetizer is fantastic - pasta was great, too. Cozy, busy place.

Amazing food!

Just had an amazing meal with family. All the food was amazing especially the octopus salad and the seafood soup. Service was excellent. Great atmosphere. Had a fantastic evening!

Rocky Start - Ulimately A Very Nice Experiience

By s d |

Last night was our daughters 22nd birthday. I asked her to select the restaurant and she selected Strada. I made the reservation accordingly. When we arrived at 7:30PM on a Wednesday night, they were already half full in a somewhat small dining room. We stated that we had a reservation, but they could not find it. We were asked to wait about 10 minutes. The hostess seemed overwhelmed. Two other tables were seated while we stood in the wine bar area. Out of the blue came a guy in a T-shirt who asked if we needed assistance. We stated our dilemma. He immediately went into action, talked to the hostess, re-arranged some tables and we were seated in a lovely table by the window after a less than 10 minute wait. We ordered appetizers. Ouvo Strada and Osso Buco Crostoni. The Ouvo Strada was off the chart delicious. The crostini, not so good for me but my husband and daughter thought it great. For our main entrees we ordered the Branzino; a special of pasta with pancetta and endive in pink sauce and the pan seared pork chop. The Branzino was fresh, properly cooked and fabulous, simply presented with mandolin sliced potatoes in a butter cheese sauce and haricot vert. The pasta was also delicious and the pork chop was so-so, missing something, but acceptable. Our service was attentive, the vibe in the restaurant was on, and the whole evening a success. The guy in the T-shirt came by a few times to check on how we were doing. I asked his title.....he said busboy. I don't think so. Anyway, I told him he was the best busboy I have ever encountered. He went above and beyond the duties of a busboy to accommodate us. He was great, while definitely being in the background (I personally think he is more than a busboy. If he is I really appreciate his humbleness). We can't wait to return to this restaurant.

Excellent atmosphere !

By keywordNATT |

I was with two coworkers, one had the fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp, and the second co-worker and myself shared several appetizers and had several mimosas- unfortunately I do not remember the server's name, I can say that he was AWESOME! we sat on the bar since it was a rainy Miami Sunday and had an amazing time! While we waited for our food, be were brought the most delicious foccacia bread I've ever had with delicious olive oil. We shared Fried calamari, which also came with fried zucchini and an amazing tartar sauce, two different flat breads - one was a cappresse and the second had onions, what i think was pulled pork and we also had sauteed mushrooms. the only reason neither of us licked the plate is because we were in public! We originally had planned to have brunch, but since we're a little too lazy, we opted for lunch - we viewed the dinner menu instead and we were not disappointed! Our only concern now is when are we going back for breakfast!

Chic Italian

By GrantCalton |

Cool, chic Grovy Italian. Loved the ambience and the food - notable was the grilled octopus appetiser and the risotto with lemon and soft flakes of branzino. Some decent wines too and Moretti Rossa on tap.

Good menu, average food

By Deborah S |

Menu looks great and some items are better than others. Salads are nicely sized and interesting but serving underripe tomatoes in Florida is a no-no. Fish dishes are generally pretty tasty though nothing special. Pastas good but not outstanding. Very noisy too. If possible, eat outside on patio or in back room. Service can be an issue too. Have eaten there three times and each time service was different and not totally professional. Portions are quite large. The very best panna cotta I have ever tasted though.

Great Food With Reasonably Priced Wine List

By travelguy135 |

Three couple met to check this place out as we had heard good things. Great Italian and Mediterranean food choices from appetizers to entres. I was most impressed with the extensive wine list, both American and Italian. Iam familiar w prices and they have a lot of great wines very reasonably priced. Its refreshing to see that. Service was excellent. Enthusiastic and knowledgeable all the way around. We all said we would go back.

Very good

Last night I went with a group of 10. Nice table in the patio. Food and service excellent ! Wine , Barolo 2011 delicious. Overall perfect . I recommend !!!

Elegant yet casual

ATMOSPHERE is fantastic. Friendly owner and management, the ultimate hosts. The food is high quality, authentic and has never disappointed in the dozens of times I have eaten there.

Enjoyable Evening

By dedeau |

Recommend reservations- we didn't have reservations & had to sit at a high top and it was a Wednesday evening early. We started with the salad with beets and hearts of palm- it was very nice. I had the linguini with clam sauce- one of the best I've had. My love had the risotto with mushrooms- the best he's had & he's a chef. The service was very, very good- I believe his name was Manny. Great ambiance- I would return.

Disappointed

By joeyknows |

This was our third visit to Strada in the Grove. We enjoyed our previous experiences because the food and service were good. There were four of us and everyone except me was happy with their meal. I order a Pasta and sea food dish. Not only was this tasteless but the seafood consisted of 2 small shrimp and a handful of small mussels and clams. I probably should have sent it back right away. I mean $26. for a plate of tasteless spaghetti and a sprinkle of "sea food". Really? When the waiter started clearing away plates, seeing I had not finished my meal he wasn't sure If he should take the plate. I told him to go ahead since I hadn't enjoyed my dinner. He offered to send out the manager. Manager did't come. When I asked the waiter what happened, the manager finally came out. His attitude was arrogant. He didn't apologize or offer any compensation but gave me an economic lecture on the cost of sea food. Even a good restaurant can mess up a meal once in a while, but to treat their customers so indifferently is not a way to run a business. I've met the owner and he's very nice, but this manager is poison to his business. I don't think I will be going back. My experience left me with a bad taste.

The Go to Place for me and my family

By CombatCulinary |

I have dined at Strada 3 times in the last 18 months and have always been impressed with the service and food . My son tuned us on to Strada when we visited him at FIU. The appetizers and the fresh sliced Prosciutto de Parma is always a treat. The traditional hand cranked slicer for the Prosciutto is awesome. As a former classic trained Executive Chef I appreciate the details in the food and service that Strada provides while not being pretentious. I am looking forward to my Fourth Visit tomorrow to celebrate my sons graduation from FIU.

Local place, classy and great!

By ayocricket |

We love this place and go a few times a month. Very classy with great surface. The food comes out quickly so if you want to go and have a drink first, don't order immediately. The food is consistently great and the wine menu is stellar. Very friendly bartenders and staff.

Great Brunch!

By ivo234 |

My husband and I have gone to dinner and was very good but Sunday we went to brunch and I totally loved the menu. It offers different eggs Benedict- the Sardegna with lobster was fantastic. Prices are very reasonable and there is good variety. It does get a bit noisy but great ambience. We had a hard time deciding what to order, everything sounded so good. And believe me that usually does not happen when we go to Brunch, its always the same kind of menu.

An Italian Surprise

By Arthur S |

Food excellent, staff excellent, wine expensive if you come from Spain as we do, but overall a great night out.

Great food!

By suburbanmommy |

The food here was incredible. My two older kids live in Miami so we decided to try a new place in the "Grove." The food was absolutely delicious. The only negative is that we sat in the courtyard in the back. While is was very charming, the fans were inadequate to cool things off. My husband took a few hours to recover from our dining experience because of the heat. We tried to move indoors numerous times but the hostess said that they didn't have the space. Next time I go - and I will return - I will definitely make a reservation!!!

Careful with Specials

By jknows |

Ordered Pappadelle with Lamb Ragú Special. Pasta was not cooked through. I have been eating this type of Pasta for many years here and in Italy so I know my Pappadelle. This portion was rushed out and looked like a gloppy pile. Lamb Ragu again was not cooked through. Just some warm lamb chunks served over some thin tomato sauce. This one of my favorite pasta sauces. This one missed the mark by the strada it is named after.

Overpriced!!!! Everything is petite. Food simply OK

By German P |

Overpriced and Size of plates are extremely petite. Definitively, I won't come back. There are many places way better than this one in the area.

Buonissimo!!

By Laura C |

I'm an italian who lives in Miami and I can say that Strada really serves Italian dishes and with a very good quality. I also love the location and the ambiance is very nice for a casual friends dinner and also for a romantic casual date. I strongly recommend it

Great Sunday Brunch menu

By sashi60 |

We chose to eat outside because we had a two year old. The waitress was very accomodating. A nice selection for brunch. Our table chose eggs benedict, bagels and lox, all were very good and a nice presentation. Many omlette choices , egg benedict combinations, healthy choices also. A nice spot anytime of the day or nite.

Wonderful

By Cheri G |

My busband invited me to have dinner Saturday night and the place was packed. Thanks God we got a reservation the day before for two. We had priorat wine, burrata , the rack of lamb and cheese cake and oporto as afterdinner. The food was excellent. The service was wonderful. Pietro was great!!!

Great Place for Appetizers and Wine by the Glass

By TheBestOnly_13 |

This a popular Grove establishment with good service, friendly waiters and a good selection of Italian wines by the glass. Often, ambient noise is uncomfortable so it is not the place for a romantic italian dinner. Do not expect great Italian dishes; after several visits I can state that food is consistently mediocre with pre-made sauces and a lack of depth in flavor or texture you will find in true italian cuisine.

Decent experience overall, great service however

By Jefe |

We walked in on a sunday and although the waiter had welcomed us in and we saw empty tables, we were greeted by a manager that discredited what the waiter said and made it known he was in charge. He then asked if we had reservations which we did not. He made it seem as though he was doing us a favor and would get us a table. Didn't realize regular paying customers couldn't walk in without a reservation but anyway... On to the meal. The place was busy so the service was a little delayed but when the server did attend to you, they were fully engaged and focused on pleasing you. I ordered the Oso Bucco sandwich, menu said it came on a Brioche bun, I asked if I can have it on a Panini instead and I was told "yes, it comes on a Panini" to which I obviously replied "that is not what the menu says". I also ordered it with fries. Order comes out and it's an Oso Bucco sandwich on Brioche bun with a side salad.... hardly what I ordered. Thankfully the waitress admitted her fault in it and the manager quickly resolved it. Manager at this point was very attentive, apologetic and kind, I appreciated that. My food was remade and sent out the correct way the second time around. Overall, I dropped two stars for the awkward "welcome" we received and because of the mix up on my dish (although I tried to reiterate how I wanted it). Great, quaint place with a great open air modern feel to it but it could use some tweaking to get up to a 5 star rating in my book.

good but overpriced

By Harveyjag |

The e food was wonderful and the service excellent. Restaurant was crowded but noisy. Unfortunately there is no liquor, only wine and beer. The wine list was extensive but way overpriced.

Outstanding Italian food

By steverA8718SU |

Terrific waiter both knowledgeable and accomodating . Itried to get pasta and sardine sauce but they couldn't do it They offered a dried fish and clam pasta . It was I must say outrageously good. The best clam pasta ever. The other dishes we had all lived up to excellent. Only wine and beer , but a nice beer selection .

Italian Immersion

By RickB_SJC |

I hosted a group of 10 this past Wednesday evening and could not have selected a better place to do so. We were quickly seated and started our evening with a selection of appetizers most people would have called dinner. Everything from the fried risotto balls and funghi misti to the salmon tartare and grilled octopus were prepared to perfection. The entrees were also served hot and quickly. The large Frutti del Mare servings satisfied the two people who ordered it, the shrimp and crabmeat ravioli was devoured as was the salmon all'aneto. And just when we thought it couldn't get better we finished with the dessert cannoli and cheesecake. My group said it was one of the best dinners we have ever had together!

Great ambience, good food, OK service

By Cloud G |

I have eaten at Strada 4 times now and find the food good enough that I will keep returning. However, there are a few little things that bother me and if improved would easily make this one of my favorite restaurants in Miami. First, the ambience and decor is perfect--in that regard, I wouldn't change a thing. The color scheme is beautiful and the rustic touches make it exceptionally welcoming and charming. The back patio is also very lovely. Second, the food is good although it has been inconsistent. The first time I ate there I had the gnocchi, which were delicious. The second time, I ordered the spaghetti alle vongole (spaghetti with clams) and I was rather disappointed. The clams were grainy and not well incorporated into the pasta which itself was just sitting there quite blandly, not dressed at all. Having lived in Italy for some time I'm confident in expressing that this spaghetti alle vongole fell quite short of the real thing. The last 2 times I have had the pappardelle ai porcini and it has been delicious both times. Twice I have ordered the crostoni classiche and while it was really good and tasty the first time, the second time it was lukewarm, the melted cheese had hardened somewhat, and the bread was soggy, which makes me think it had been ready for some time and simply took our waiter too long to bring it to us. That brings me to my most important point and one that I hope the management will read and take seriously. The service is very inconsistent, fluctuating between average and subpar, but never good. The first time I went to Strada I was on a date and the most bizarre thing happened. The host seats my date first (I realized fairly quickly neither my date nor the host were about to bother with my chair, so I just sat down) then proceeds to place the napkin on my date's lap first and then places mine. First of all, the placing of the napkin was a completely ridiculous and inappropriate gesture for this type of restaurant--there are very few restaurants where that is appropriate and usually the waiters are dressed in black tie. Thankfully, it seems the staff has been told not to repeat that since I haven't had it happen again. The more annoying issue is the fact that my date was served first during the entirety of the meal, he was served water first and his plate first as well. I felt completely disregarded. The other 3 times I have gone with my mother so I can't comment on whether that practice has been corrected as well. However, the service hasn't improved in other aspects. The waiter is too slow, leaving us unattended for more than 10 minutes while we were desperately trying to get his attention to order. Despite being made to wait to finally take our order, when it came time to finally order we felt rushed. Meanwhile the table next to us received a fairly lengthy description of the specials which we did not receive. The waiters are clumsy, rushed, and overall give the impression that they have no idea what they are doing. I am usually very patient with waiters and waitresses, giving them the benefit of the doubt as I know it is a difficult and stressful job, but the inconsistency here tells me that the staff either is not trained properly or too small to handle all the customers in a timely manner. Perhaps it is confusing that I have so many complaints about the service and yet continue to go back. Truthfully, I don't consider there to be too many good restaurants in Miami (contrary to popular opinion) and I love the ambience of Strada and like the food enough to keep coming back. I want this restaurant to succeed so I've written my comments earnestly in the hope that they will be helpful and contribute to an improvement in service. However, if I continue to go back and receive the same treatment, I will probably stop choosing Strada and choose Bombay Darbar which is just across the street and has excellent food and impeccable service. I don't mean that as a threat obviously, it's just the truth.

Good food nice atmosphere

By Satisfied6770 |

Popular restaurant featuring Italian food. Fish and great apps. On Commodore Plaza in the Grove. Nice atmosphere a little loud when crowded so we sat at the communal table in the back. A bit quieter. Outside seating either in front or in courtyard which looks great, unfortunately it was quite hot,out so we chose to sit inside. Enjoyed a lot. Make reservations It's quite popular.

Delicious

By CaribbeanChaya |

Great food with vegetarian options. The mushroom risotto is amazing and we haven’t stopped thinking about it since. Excellent service. Nice outdoor seating area off the sidewalk. Worth every penny.

Always Excellent

By Mathew D F |

We have been many times & are always greeted by a super staff and extraordinary menu. Sapore di Mare & Strada are the most superior restaurants not only in The Grove, but Miami.

Really good Italian fare with good service.

By jnenc |

Make reservations to sit inside. Great bustling feel inside. Lots of outside tables, but a bit warm and loud from cars. But, lots of people watching. Pasta dishes $15-20. Entrees $22-30. Deep wine list.

Best Italian cuisine in Miami

By Mary Helen C |

This is a very small restaurant so reservations are necessary. There are a few tables outside that do not require reservations and I think it is the ideal place to sit anyway and enjoy Miami's wonderful weather especially during winter. The menu has a lot of choices and there are a few specials each evening. Good wine selection and good wines by the glass as well. We shared the tuna and swordfish carpaccio appetizer which was a special for the evening. It was uniquely prepared in that it had a citrus arrangement in the center which was very tasty. I had the gnocchi which was prepared with diced fresh tomatoes and mozzarella and the gnocchi were light in texture and taste. The gnocchi and all pastas are freshly made on site at the restaurant. My boyfriend had a pasta with artichoke sauce which was one of the specials of the evening. This sauce was unique because it had an earthiness to it which came from the shaved fish roe that was mixed in. Too full to try dessert but they had many delicious choices. We look forward to dining here again.

Very tasty

By bmlbear |

Comfortable decor and welcoming. The staff us vey attentive and nice. Now the food - all the pasta is fresh and the sauces very tasty (had the clams and mushroom tuffle). Tried the veal scallopini - delicious. Prices range from $15 - $20. Enjoy!

Always good

By Mark L |

We go to this restaurant when we want quality Italian food. Mostly known for the pasta dishes they also have excellent fish and veal. We were not disappointed on this occasion either. They have a large seating area in the rear that is outdoors and we were never rushed although we apparently closed down the restaurant at about 11 30. We brought friends from New York and they were pleased with the restaurant as well.

Sunday Brunch AMAZING!! Seating Inside or Outside!

By Hialeah73 |

Wonderful food items. We all had something different. All dishes were amazing. They have a special price on two menu items endless Mimosa's, with a dessert included. This was great Deal. Every dish was really good. Waiter and service Excellent! Parking is tight, so I recommend going about 2 more stores down to a valet parking booth. Its five dollars to park for 2 hours. Over that time its $10.00. There is free street parking but good luck finding a space. Really busy area with limited parking.

Terrible service and underwhelming food at brunch

By Delmar06 |

Went for brunch - hostess told us 5 mins and to wait at the bar. They do not serve bloody Mary's - no liquor at all. Friend ordered wine and bartender gave us two glasses (only one was ordered). Was kind of a question mark, but I kept the wine and accepted it as my drink (of course we were charged). Hostess forgot about us and finally after 15 minutes I went to inquire. The manager was quick to get our table. The waiter was atrocious - never took our drink order. Finally almost 15 minutes another waiter saw we were in distress and took the order. We had to ask for bread - other tables got it automatically. Other tables around us started to complain about the slow service - we just kept quiet hoping the team could turn things around. Did not happen. Food came out and omelette was mediocre at best - the insides all fell out like they had cooked the eggs completely then thrown in the toppings at the last minute and folded it over. Very disappointed. The hollandaise sauce from the Benedict was served all over my fresh fruit - I had to basically beef the waiter to bring fresh fruit as the originals were ruined! The waiter never touched our table after we got our food (he never took the order either). It was terrible and he seemed put off by us - since we ordered from someone else. He never came by or even would make eye contact. It was very condescending. Won't be back and definitely cannot recommend.

Brunch on Father's Day

By Alamills |

Six of us went for brunch. Made reservations which they held for us even though we arrived some 15 minutes late. We actually had a very pleasant and positive experience. Service was very friendly. The various plates that we ordered were to everybody's satisfaction. The cappuccinos were great. The table we were at was by the window inside, comfortable and at a reasonable distance from other tables. Based on this experience I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

How to win a customer's heart...

By enialaj |

After spending a month in Coconut Grove, one of the reasons I was sad to leave was that I wouldn't be eating at Strada again for awhile! The first night my brother arrived (his birthday), I booked a reservation for 9:00pm. We arrived, only to find the restaurant in total darkness; someone had hit a telephone pole and alas, no "food for the weary"! One of the waiters, Miguel, actually walked us to another restaurant to help us find a good dinner; above and beyond! Had made a reservation for the following night and there was light...and wonderful food! My brother and I were very happy with the service, the wine suggestion, and the lovely repast! My friends, who came shortly after, loved the ambiance, Miguel, our waiter (!) and, of course, the incomparable food! Right before I left, I visited yet again with a friend from Coral Gables, who had never been to Strada; she announced that it was her new favorite! And, there you have it...all a restaurant needs to win the hearts of its clientele...and the "risotto-frutti de mari"...exquisite! Also, remember there is a lovely patio out back...

Decent Italian food in the Grove!

By Vicki C |

Came here with a big party - it has indoor and outdoor seating - we opted for the outdoor seating which was beautifully set with garden decor, however be weary of biting mosquitos at night. Service was very good. We ordered a variety of appetizers and entrees - all presented well and delicious - truffle fries, rice balls, mussels, salmon, different pastas.

Lovey Italian Cuisine

By LMKruger |

Everything was tasty and fresh, I loved my pappardelle with porcini mushroom sauce. Since I was on vacation I also got a lovely Aperol spritz to compliment my lunch. While they don't have a children's menu, they will do a half portion of basic asta for kids. Note that while they have a lunch menu, it's apparently not available on weekends, so don't go there on a Saturday looking for a panini.

Homemade pasta!

By Jessica V |

I always appreciate homemade pasta at italian restaurants. Sadly it's hard to find and when you do find it it's limited to one dish. But not at Strada! I had the homemade parpadelle and my husband had the fettuccine rage, both were dishes were cooked perfectly. The were a couple of things that were off putting at first but we got past that and enjoyed a nice dinner. One, about 5 servers a manager and a valet were just standing around the hostess stand when we got there, effectively blocking the entrance to the restaurant and the posted menu. Two, the menu is not huge but it's not small either, when we asked for specials we got a schpill of around 10 additional items if not more, these seem excessive to me, usually too many menu items makes me wonder about the quality and effort that goes into each of them. All in all a good restaurant would definitely go back.

Great Lunch in a pleasant setting

By asora10066 |

Strada offers well prepared entrees in a fresh and unique setting. The entrance was to the side with an herb garden adorning the exterior wall. For my entree I ordered a homemade ravioli stuffed with lobster and shrimp. The size was adequate, not too big or too small. The desserts were generously portioned and good for sharing. We ordered cannoli and lemon cheese cake. Nice place!

Great Italian in the Grove

By Charliep57 |

Good food except the fried calamari which are not good at all. Everything else is good. Service is good. The place is a little noisy and the tables are a bit close together but the food is really good, so that's ok.

Good food and reasonable price

By Miguel S |

The food was really good, specially the 4 cheese risotto and the special linguini. The service was kind and the prices were very reasonable. Recommended place

Outstanding food and dining experience.

By dlscps |

I have been to Strada for both lunch and dinner. Every time, I am impressed with the creativity of the menu and quality of the food. This time I tried the red snapper special in lemon and capers with a side of spinach - delicious. The pastas are also very good. Cozy atmosphere, reasonable noise level and personal service. Overall a great place for a couple or small group.

Great Italian!

By Katie D |

Delicious! This was so good! It reminded us of our trip to Italy. Our waiter was great! He suggested my meal for me and I was so glad that he did! It was the Cartoccio ai frutti di mare and it was fabulous!!! This was a very large portion. My husband had the Pappardelle con crema di porcini....this was also delicious! This was a much smaller portion, so if you like larger meals make sure to order a side or appetizer. Make a reservation to ensure you get a table. We arrived right at 7 and it was empty. By 7:45 it was totally packed and people were waiting for tables.

What a lovely restaurant

By Fajer A |

We sat outside in the terrace and the atmosphere was beautiful and calm. The mains where we ordered pasta were just amazing and the perfect italian taste! Their dessert was something else - the tiramusi was so fresh. I would love to come here again !

Try the Panna Cotta

By John E |

The best. Oh, the rest of the food was pretty good as well. Mussels (in the tomato broth) are exceptional. Over time I've had the veal, pork chops and several of the pastas. Not sure which is my favorite. Don't hesitate to ask the bartender for a recommendation for wine. Last time I did he found me a wonderful Chianti. Enjoy this place by dining either inside or on the sidewalk.

Fun ambiance, but short on service & supplies

By Chicanews |

Strada definitely offers a quaint ambiance in the middle of the Grove. We ordered a Malbec that was amazing. The waiter told us the specials, which included a snapper that I ordered, but there was no snapper. So I ordered a mediterranean salad with chicken. The salad was delicious but it came out with no chicken. The chicken came out when I finished the salad and the waiter kind of expected me to eat the chicken breast..just alone like that. I didn't. We sent it back. The waiter was polite and the food was good.

great italia vibe

By Sandra J |

good food, good wine, good staff, what's not to love! try it, the pastas feel homemade, like mama in the kitchen..... don't overload on bread! it's loud but a fun nice loud, if you don't like that don't try it.

An Italian Oasis in the Grove

By diazivy |

What a gem! A wonderful menu filled delicious choices and a great wine list! Make sure to try the chicken pâté and the calamari. For the main course the agnolotti di zucca. A fantastic meal and a really beautiful ambience! Will dine here often!

We are coming back..

By Gilberto O |

We were greeted by Renato, from Lake Como, and treated like old friends. The place is rather large but divided very cleverly into intimate segments. The back patio is hidden, and lit with charm in an "italian style". The place was pleasantly crowded. The service was first rate. Pietro, from Roma, served us with grace and Italian charm. My wife wisely choose the Polenta with grilled asparragus with a gorgonzola sauce..Wow...downright amazing!! Her Pappardelle with porcini was delicious. My Burrata with Tomato and achovies was very good. The risotto with Steak was good, but not great like my wife's choices. Her lemon cheese cake with a fruity sauce was very good as was my Tiramisu. We are not wine drinkers but the wine selection was plentiful. Not a cheap place ... Definitely a must if you want a sophisticated Italian Trattoria in Miami. We are coming back!

Excellent food & service in Coconut Grove, FL

By Gelmac |

My wife & I walked in early without a reservation and even though the restaurant was already crowded, we were treated like VIP customers & were given a great table. This was our first time at the restaurant. The food and service were outstanding. The wine list had nice options.

Great food but crowded and noisy

By kayadog123 |

We actually were going to eat down the street in one of our favorites but the wait was too long so we went into Strada. The food was excellent but the tables are very close and the place is noisy. It was lunch time on a weekday so the place was packed with business folks at 1:30 pm. That being said, the food was excellent and the service was very good. We had the calamari antipasti and fried green olives for an appetizer. The olives are fried and stuffed with gorgonzola cheese and are splendid. I wish I had some now. The crab cakes and grilled marinated skirt steak were mouth watering. We also split the wild mushrooms sautéed in garlic over arugula. I will return as the food is so very good.

Small charming Italian restaurant

By Alfredoman1 |

We went for lunch; is a small place nicely decorated with great taste. Service was good, and food was quite good. We had excellent carpaccio, mortadella and parmeggiano, and very good spaghetti, really al dente. Wine selection is good. Do not order fried calamari, there are horrible! All in all a good experience we will be back!

really liked this place

By Bones57 |

Strada had an excellent wine list and extensive selections. The service was very good. the rack of lamb was wonderful. we drank an Italian rose, as part of our summer rose drinking experience.

Fabulous lunch!

By Pineapples-a-Plenty |

A much anticipated visit, and worth the wait. Small, intimate, and crisp service. We had a terrific time at Strada. The decor is pleasant, with a stylish twist. And the menu was well received. Great selections, and all were presented beautifully. Looking forward to going back soon.

Nice little place

By SirBiscottie |

One of the better and cheaper meals we had in Miami. We had appetizers and main courses, and all were very good. We were delighted. They have few vegetarian options though. Our waiter was very friendly and professional, which is a huge contrast to Ocean Drive restaurants. They have a nice and secluded patio at the back, you may wish to eat there instead of up front. Would eat there again.

Excellent brunch. Very well

By Manuel B |

Excellent brunch. Very well priced. Incredible atmosphere. Welcoming staff. The French toast was delicious. The guacamole toast with egg was incredible

First Class Italian food in Coconut Grove

By Nicholas P |

Strada, located on Commodore Plaza in the heart of Coconut Grove, the oldest neighborhood in the Greater Miami area where the original settlers lived, is an outstanding restaurant. One may reserve a table on the sidewalk and dine al fresco, in the interior of the building or in the rear where tents are set up. The ideal place to eat is in the rear as there may be street noise and pedestrian traffic on the sidewalk; plus the noise level inside the building does not lend itself to conversation. The wait staff is most attentive, and the food is absolutely wonderful. Dishes may be shared, and the quantities are generous.

Really noisy but excellent food

By BFBoston |

The tables are packed together, the noise is almost unbearable, but the food is excellent. And everyone is having a good time. Even if they can't hear anything. But the food is very good and the prices reasonable.

Cool vibe, good food

By ValC23 |

Tried this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend. Great place to have a quiet dinner. Good wine list. Good was good and service was very attentive. I would come back.

Great

By adelZman |

Just happened on this place while out for a walk. Very busy but only waited 5 minutes to be seated. Nice ambience. Great people watching. European feel. Good menu and tasty offerings. Friendly staff.

Great food, location, and service

By Heidi B |

Strada is the best authentic Italian restaurant in Coconut Grove, Florida. Best of al, the most expensive wines by the glass at $11 were really good and the pour was generous. Gluten free pasta is available, but no GF bread.

Dependable

By waterviews2014 |

Have been to Strada several times and it is the kind of restaurant you know you will have a good meal. My daughter goes there often and we always go for at least one meal there when I visit. This last time there was a kitchen mixup which is the only time we have ever had any issue. Their authentic pasta dishes are always a good bet...although they do a good job on everything. Service is always good.

Miami Spice

By WillIGoBack |

Love this restaurant!! It is a go to place for a casual dinner and to bring Northeast guests. Miami Spice menu is underwhelming. Not very exciting except for one of the best crime brûlée I have ever tasted. Will I Go Back? Yes but not for Spice

Good food

By sandra c |

We went with friend for dinner. The salmon is delicious ! the service is very good. We had a great time watching the Heat game too.

My #1 Italian in Miami

By Alexandrecardon |

good food, good wine, good staff... I've been 3 times by now. Never booked, but I will next time as I could never have a seat in the main room (they have a patio on the back on the restaurant and tables in the front). They are super consistent, loved the pasta, the lamp, the appetizers, etc. And location is my favorite part of Miami... Coconut Grove is so relaxed... and chic at the same time.

Very Good Italian in the Grove

By Flydog66 |

High quality Italian food in Coconut Grove. The atmosphere is a bit noisy and you NEED a reservation but it is worth it as the food is very good.

Nice Brunch

By Gilberto O |

My wife and I just had brunch sitting outside and we both loved it. The menu was varied but not too long. The weather cooperated as it was very pleasant. The food was great, the servíce was very good and the pricing was reasonable. A great choice for a family brunch.

Not my kind of food, but superior service.

By nana1999 |

My husband and I wanted Italian food for dinner within walking distance of our hotel. He decided to try Strada in the Grove. I could tell by the menu that it wouldn't work for us because there were well known dishes, but everything had a twist we wouldn't like. For instance, tortelloni with anchovie paste. The people were very friendly and almost too attentive, so we didn't want to walk out. We chose the plainest items on the menu, I think -- rigatoni and linguini with meat sauce -- because everything else had ingredients that we didn't like. It was pretty plain fare, not a lot of flavor, but OK. I would have preferred more standard italian fare, but I'm not into gourmet. I'm also not used to tables being so close together. I was glad it wasn't crowded because the noise would have been really bad.

Perfect food

By Jobu1964 |

Perfect food and nice and friendly service, all the food we got was well done fish ,pasta and desserts it is a place we will visit again 😀

seriously good informal ITALIAN

By mlippman |

Italian restaurants come in 3 main flavors. boring check table cloths heavy on the tomato sauce, modern going with the flow modern and truly innovative by being unfailingly traditional or ultra modern. strada is in the middle group. reliable, interesting but not challenging, the menu is mostly unchanging but well done. the wine list is reasonably priced and covers some less available regions like sardinia and sicily. it is very popular as it should be and perhaps this inhibits them from going a bit further. i think they own the restaurant across the street- farinelli - which is similar and even more conservative. Miami doesn't much award innovation but in the Grove this is as good as it gets.

Still one of my favs

By glenagrit |

Go every year while attending national tennis tournament and this is a must. While so many of the restaurants in CCGrove are closed Strada continues to be excellent and always crowded. Grilled octopus for appetizer and sea bass for entree was superb. Done to perfection. Octopus was tender and juicy, Hard to do!! Nice wine list by the glass, rare these days. Server was great. Really enjoyed the revisit and helps make this one of the best trips of the year. Love this place. Go back every time I am in the Grove as long as it is there.

Nice food but a bit noisy

By Glen M |

It was full but we had reservations. Waited for our table to clear. Maybe tables along the edge aren't as noisy but with it being full can't expect miracles. Really nice food, and with e selection. Bursts (cheese and tomato salad) and the Barlow risotto with short rib was very well done. Canoli was also very nicely done.

very bad service but ok food

By Veritas12345 |

Went here for brunch with my parents. We were ignored the whole time. We sat outside and table of two girls next to us with different waiter were fawned over. why? Waiter kept disapearing and when girl came to poor water she poured tap water into our bottle water even though we told her...she ignored us and just poured.. and walked away without acknowledging us...when our waiter finally came, he claimed she doesnt speak English but if you speak to someone you your standing next to obviously they know what's going on and could have replied even in Spanish.. I also asked for a coffee and the waiter forgot! Eggs benedict was OK... shocking service but I guess this is normal for Miami!

Great food

By krisgils33 |

Had a fabulous meal here. Everything was amazing. The salad, main courses (pasta and fish), and the desserts. To top it all off...we had a great server who was simply fabulous.

Excellent

By DJMinBoise |

Small intimate restaurant. Perhaps a little too close. Wines and food were excellent. Reservations should be made. We got lucky.

Wish I could give Strada 6 Stars!

By Kevin T |

Strada in the Grove was a fabulous experience from start to finish! Our waiter was very knowledgeable about what could and could not be made gluten free and the food was fantastic. Our new favorite place in Coconut Grove!!!

Best Cheese Cake South of New York

By 495douglast |

Have dined at this restaurant several times. It is not the normal American/Italian tomato sauce Restaurant. The executive chef is a lady from Sardinia who prepares authentic Italian food. Except in the hot summer the terrace is very nice place to dine. The wine selection is good and reasonably priced. After dinner we had their excellent cheese cake, which they make themselves. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who visits the Grove.

Nice food, good service and decoration

By José L |

I went with my Wife a Friday around 7pm and could find a sit without reservation. They bring to the table a small bottle of olive oil, a little greasy on the outside, and some tasty bread, a good start! For starter we ordered the friend calamari and zucchini and the size was good to share and came with a well made tomato sauce and mayo on the side. Both of us had pasta, I the lobster and crab ravioli and my wife the salmon pene. The sizes were more than enough and very well made. We full enough to avoid desert calories! We spent $65 It is a new place to visit, not an institution that you must go if you are visiting Miami.

Rip off and terrible service

By Mikems19 |

I had eaten at this restaurant many times and was looking forward to a fantastic meal. I ordered the special ravioli filled with lamb and at USD 46.00 I was expecting something exceptional . The dish came to my table cold and I sent it back and 5 mins later it came back to me in a carry bag. I complained again as they gave me a doggy bag with the cold food. The meal eventually came back to me and I examined it carefully. There were only 5 small pieces of ravioli on the plate and for USD 45.00 I would have expected something more substantial, but I was hungry so instead of sending it back I ate it. This was a total rip off and on leaving the restaurant I told them so and that I would not be coming back ever. They did not seem to care.

Loved this food-and I don’t even love Indian!

By ToTellTheTruthHonest |

Fresh, delicious....nothing prepare-from the pappadum to the mango kulfi, just divine! Sweet waitress, and everything homemade. A vegetarians delight!

A welcome addition to the restaurant scene in Coconut Grove

By 2fortheroad4 |

This certainly is one of the best restaurants we have been to lately. The food is excellent, service good and priced very well. The only drawback is the noise level. The place was packed which accounts for the noise. But don't let that discourage you..they have valet parking

Best Pasta in Miami

By Melon75 |

Amazing place. Everything is spectacular. Ingredientes are coming from Italy and you can taste the difference. It's packed every single day, but small, warm and cozy. Order the polenta as appetizer. You won't regret it. The branzino is excellent although I'm addicted to the porcini with truffle oil. Make a reservation. Locals love to eat here. It's a hidden gem.

Strada in the Grove

By Maggie215 |

So good-6 of us enjoyed our meal and half of us had the Branzino alla griglia which was delicious. All the other entrees were also enjoyed. The appetizers were delicious including the favorite Patatine al tartufo-handcut fries with truffle oil and cheese and Barbabietola e Pomodoro aka the beet salad.

Fantastic Food

By TXNinFL |

The food was incredible: appetizers, pastas, dessert. We loved it all. They also have a great wine selection with knowledgeable staff to make recommendations. The only downside to this place is that it is a small space and can get very crowded and loud. If you shy away from that type of atmosphere, I would go on a weekday.

Nice !

By ExigentTraveller |

I enjoyed having dinner with my partner there. Loved the ambiance (the main dining room is much nicer then the back). The food was good; excellent presentation of the appetizer (octopus), however the presentation for the risotto was very poor. Loved the bread as well. Very good and attentive service.

Welcome surprise

By Esther I |

Unexpected surprise, good good, good service, overall Great experience in coconut grove. Good energy, small place Takes a little close for comfort.

Fantastic food in downtown area...

By HBeachTraveler |

If you've never been to Coconut Grove, FL just south of Miami, you have to visit. It flanks it's much more famous neighbor, Coral Gables, though it's a much more charming area. It's a small idyllic town on edge of Biscayne Bay. This specific restaurant is located downtown in the "tourist" area, yet it offers a great meal at a pretty reasonable price. As it's name implies, it's Italian, with the black mussels appetizer being especially delicious. Although not overly extensive, the entree menu offers plenty of very special main pasta and fish/chicken dishes, along with various tasty-sounding antipasti. After our shared mussels, I had the Pappardelle con crema di porcini, which was very special. My wife had standard Spaghetti aglio, olio e colatura di alici which was also very good. They only have beer and wine, but the wine list was very good and offered numerous nice choices for restaurant this size. Overall, we both raved about the food and the service, thanks to the very attentive Allesandro, was close to impeccable. If you want a very special meal in a pretty special little town, this is a very good choice.

Good food and service

By Ramen163 |

Last night I visited this place with a friend, he've been there before but it was my first visit. Had a Salmon Tartar, it was good but different, the salmon was kind of scarce, dont take me wrong, it was good, may be I like it with more salmon! My main dish was spaghetti with ragu sauce, it waa really nice, I hate it when the ragu sauce is too salty , this was perfect. One detail from the server, he asked us if we wanted spoons for the pasta, ofcourse we said no but it was a good detail. No dessert but the machiatto was good!

Great meal!

By tomley83 |

We had a fantastic meal. Great service, suggestions on appetizers, entrees and desserts were spot on. Highly recommend Strada in the Grove!

Good food, very bad acoustics

By JAFF-MiamiBeach |

The food is very honest. The owners are from Torino, and the dishes were authentic and flavorful. For appetizers, we had the Insalata Bianca (if you like fennel, it's great; otherwise don't bother). The grilled polenta with gorgonzola cheese sauce was also very tasty. For mains, the branzino was very good, very well prepared (tender but not raw). I would go back. My main advice for anyone going on a busy night is do not seat in the main dining room indoors. The acoustics is very bad, and you can barely hear your neighbor seating next to you. A table on the patio in the back or outside by the terrace are good and quieter options. Also, the desserts were tasty. Both the panna cotta and zabaione with strawberries are highly recommenced.

Great food and friendly staff

By peterp_belgium |

We booked early (6:30pm) so we actually had the place to ourselves for 1/2 hour. But then guests started flowing in and by 7:30pm the place was full. The menu looks traditional but the chef gives the dishes an innovative twist. Great wine selection too. The maitre d' is really friendly and helpful even offering to adjust a dish to your taste. Really great experience.

Lovely

By DoriLei |

I have had two memorable meals at Strada in the Grove. This is a charming Italian restaurant with an excellent wine selection and love the pasta dishes. The service was impeccable, wasn't not rushed and enjoyed our meals. Hope yo go back again soon!

Good Italian, real "al dente"

By Padeiro |

This is a cozy Italian restaurant in the Grove with a wide variety of classic dishes. Although the food was very good, my dish didn't have the wow factor of flavor to give this a five. The environment is good, the service was also excellent. If you are used to a common Italian pasta, don't be surprised if you find this a bit under-cooked. It is cooked to the truest form of al dente.

Wedding aniversary

By skoepke |

We decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary in Strada in Coconut Grove. Arriving there without a reservation we were offered a seat in the bar. We were initially unsure, but the friendness and warm welcome received by the barman made our mind and we decided to stay. The food and atmosphere were according to our expectation, but the service and nice talk of the barman Rodrigo positively surprised us. We had a very nice evening.

A little too hot and not impressed

By Carminecolarusso |

Been a regular customer of Strada and to my surprise I order a soup fruto di mare and it was extremely hot and too much tomato taken away the flacotes of the fish. Good ambience and server where watching the soccer game instead of taking care of the customers... I would advice the owner to turn off the TV sets so they can serve their visitors well.

Excellent

By CrossingWater |

Great food and service and an outstanding wine list. We wandered in for a glass of wine and stayed most of the evening.

Coconut Grove Super

By mwymd |

Looking for some Miami food we were not deterred by the Italian menu which turned out to be much more. A busy bistro we sat at the bar and our bright bartender was helpful with our choices. Not really expensive our small plates choices were exceptional and all this made for a fun evening. Visit Strada when in Coconut Grove

Good food and busy resturant

By pavakeal |

We booked for lunch, via phone as no bookings taken on internet, and arrived on time to see that our table was ready and waiting. The place was full and it looked like the clientele were mainly locals which is always a good sign. The menu was very good and our food was the same. Fettuccini was excellent and large portions. The mushroom sauce on one dish was also extremely tasty. A place to visit but reservations a must.

Just ok this time

By waterviews2014 |

Have been here several times and a Saturday afternoon was a bit of a disappointment. Gnocchi was good and I will say I think pasta dishes are always a good bet. We ordered their calamari and zucchini app which was also good. The salads with shrimp was just ok.

Birthday Dinner

By Bobby B |

A group of 8 visited on the 23rd for an early dinner. I think we had a relatively new waiter, as the service from the start was a bit slow, but he soon got in gear. Menu is very interesting and the food was very fresh and tasty. One of our guests had a dish that came out a bit on the cold side, but the staff quickly took care of it.. Wine list is a nice surprise with a more esoteric selection. The meal overall was enjoyable. Was a hot spot as by 7 it was a packed place.

Very Tasty

By acostajorge44 |

The menu had a nice variety of dishes. Everyone enjoyed the appetizers as well as the entree. The food was fresh and well-ptepared. Service was great. The place was a bit noisy so you have to talk loudly to hold s conversation. The seafood pasta was excellent.

The food was amazimgly good

By Ssn2013 |

We had a Saturday eve dinner here and loved the food. The owner, Maurizio Farinelli, is an extremely nice person with great attention to detail. The staff is very efficient and attentive which is not very common in Miami! All the pasta is homemade and fresh. A must try... Enjoy.

Our n.o 1 restaurant in Miami area

By Cenobre |

I can't even count how many times we already dine at Strada. They have the best fettuccine al ragu and pannacota. Service is always great and restaurant is always crowded. Make reservations or you will have to wait long for a table. Best Italian restaurant in Miami so far!

A Dinner with Business Partners

By Alexander E |

Very nice setting and we were pleasantly surprised since we have not been in Coconut Grove for a while. The food was great and so was the service. We had a very nice dinner there. It is worth recommending if you like good italian food.

Cozy nice Italian

By pogginotes |

Been there for dinner and is a great ambience. the food is very nice and not pretending to be other than fresh and well prepared. I had fish and it was delicious. good service

Very accommodating

By Atharrelson21 |

Visited here one night with a pretty large group (18) and the service was excellent. We had no problems with our food or drink orders, the waiters were very efficient. I ordered shrimp Alfredo which wasn't on the menu but our waiter was able to accommodate. The portions were perfect, not too big and not too small. Everyone enjoyed their meal and I would definitely recommend.

Well...Darn.

By julia w |

I am just in shock and disappointed. I just had dinner at my favorite restaurant in the Coconut Grove area of Miami. It's an average or even above average restaurant when you factor in food, service, ambiance, location, parking...so my husband and I enjoy going there for dinner often. There have been minor issues here and there in the past, but we are typically easy going and understand that this restaurant isn't at the level of absolute perfection and therefore it goes with the territory and all things considered it is still a pleasant night out. Tonight, I saw a female from the service staff place her backpack on the cutting board that was in the section where they prepared the antipasti. I was shocked and said, "Oh my gosh, your bag is on the cutting board." She said "no it's not" as she removed it. I could have left and said nothing. But because we enjoy going to this restaurant and want to return, and I care- and if I were the manager or owner I would want to know so that I could fix it, I informed the manager. He said he was sorry and that she would be sent home and that the cutting board would be bleached. Okay.... And now of course I am slightly on edge and I notice that the toilet is not properly cleaned, and now I think only God knows what else..... Not okay.... And frankly "sorry" was not enough. More like a "thank you for calling this to my attention, I appreciate it..."

Awesome!

By sharonf19 |

Had the pleasure of eating there twice and each time the food was excellent Service was outstanding and hopefully will be able to go back again next year. Do not know when the other reviewer was there, but they do have a liquor license and you can also bring your own. From appetizers to dessert the food was exceptionally good. Definitely recommend it.

The good and the bad

By Eddie V |

Great location, nicely appointed restaurant, really good food but beware. Service can be spotty, food comes out sporadically and sometimes just sometimes you will not get what you ordered. The staff is wonderful the managers understanding and if they can just sort these things out it'll be better than your average South Florida restaurant

Best Italian food in South Miami

By afootandahalf |

A lovely busy restaurant run by Italians so you get the real McCoy here. If you are going in the evening time from Thursday to Sunday make sure you book in advance to avoid being turned away. The food is excellent and the staff really know what they are doing. Also, if you go with young children they are willing and able to make special dishes which children will eat. Strada has a buzzing atmosphere and is frequented by locals and tourists alike, it is clear the local hotels suggest it which again tells you all you need to know. This is both my wife's and Mothers favourite place for dinner. During the real heat of summer the A/C inside is a god send.

Italian Place in the Grove

By Dale D |

Being forced to break my rule of never going out to dinner in Miami on a Saturday night, we obligated ourselves to take a friend to a dinner we owed, and because of their work, the friend was only available on Saturday! Perhaps the Strada in the Grove is quiet on other nights, but on this night (we arrived at 6:30 PM) it was a cacophony of loud music (singing) and big dinner groups, all shouting into my ears. To make matters worse, it poured down rain and since we were seated in the back patio, the beating of the rain on the canvas roof added to the din. The waiter attended to us immediately, took drink orders, and the service was fast. The menu is a variety of pastas, meat dishes and fish. All dishes were an adequate serving and were tasteful. I had a half salad, and clams in Pomodoro sauce. The clams were smallish and a bit rubbery. My wife had a veal dish which was good. The bill for 3 persons (one glass of wine each) was $130 with tip. I would say that this was not an outstanding Italian meal but it was acceptable. Parking in the grove is difficult, so we will continue to seek out restaurants situated in shopping centers with adequate parking, and where we can park near the door in the event of rain, It is certainly not worth going through the traffic, parking, and noise for this ordinary Italian food. Just my opinion.

Good Italian

By awarby77 |

Chose a different restaurant every night during our stay in Miami and this was the best. A nice touch was the warm bread and oil dip provided prior to our meal. We had the farfalle with chunky bolognese which was really good. The restaurant was cosy and busy on the Monday that we visited. Would definitely recommend it.

Best meal ever in all of USA

By Lone P |

During our 3rd visit to Coconut Grove we finally discovered Strada in the Grove, and it is by far the best meal we've ever had in all of the US! We will definitely come back.

Delicious!

By Bonnie S |

Don't miss this neighborhood gem in Coconut Grove. It never fails to please. The food is fresh and excellent and the service is great. Homemade pasta, fresh fish, and wonderful appetizers. It has now been discovered so be sure to call ahead as it is often booked days in advance.

Best pasta ever!

By MGB |

Service was great and the pasta was amazing! It was homemade and one of the best I’ve ever had. Desserts were very good as well and presentation was pretty.

Fun place

By jss1953 |

After suffering through Anacapri in Pinecrest the evening before, what a wonderful experience we had at Strada in the Grove. The quick summary: • It was Saturday evening at 8 pm, and the place was packed. But we barely waited 3 minutes before we were shown to our table. The restaurant was bustling and very noisy, but in a fun, high energy sort of way. • The menu was very impressive. It was very extensive and well-rounded. Plus there were a number of delicious-sounding specials. It was hard to choose because of the variety. The wine list was also very large and diversified. • The service was very good – prompt and attentive, even with the large crowd. The kitchen was equally prompt – not too fast, but not at all slow, even with the large crowd. • The food was quite good, but not great. No complaint with the food. Bottom line: Definitely will return. It’s a fun place with good service and food.

Great atmosphere, excellent food

By Desgam |

Went for dinner on a Sunday evening. Service was superb. Food was excellent. Dessert was awesome. Staff were very helpful and informative.

Lovely evening out.

By cuse_41 |

It met my expectations for an Italian restaurant in the Grove. I loved the attractive contemporary setting. Food ranged from good to excellent. The carpaccio strata and ravoli D'Aragosta were excellent. They had a nice wine by the glass selection (which is not always the case). In any Miami setting you are always at the whim of fate and individual expectations with regards to quality of service. We had very good service and yet we were able to take our time to enjoy the meal and not be rushed. We had a lovely dinner and evening capped off with a stroll through the Grove.

Best Italian in the Grove

By Reviewer 4 |

We eat here frequently and have always had great food. The back courtyard is a wonderful place to eat and the service is excellent. Most recently we shared a salad, Gnocchi and Zuppa d Pesce. It was a perfect meal.

OUTSTANDING in EVERY way!!!

By glenagrit |

Another fantastic meal at Strada. Second year in a row when I am in Coconut Grove I have eaten here and can't wait to go back. Right out of Italy, we had a table for 2 in front of the restaurant on sidewalk. Took the tasting approach so we did a 4 course meal but shared each course. Wait staff knew exactly what we wanted to do and split every course for us without asking. Everything was fantastic. Food was prepared and presented immaculately. I love this place. Nice wine list with a good variety of Italian wines. Highly recommend!! Can't wait to go back.

Solid italian in Miami !!!

By GAG |

Carpaccios and stracciatella, quit nice, not so the mussels Pasta porcini and pasta aglio e olio, excellent Plus a good price bottle of Brunello

Inattentive Customer Service

By null w |

Reserved a table for 4 for my birthday on a Thursday night. We waited an hour for the table before leaving. At least the manager said "sorry." Although, he didn't bother to let the customers sitting at our table know that it had been reserved so that really doesn't count for much. To be fair, the manager was pretty young and might not have known that it's part of his duties to move things along and accommodate all guests, not just the ones sitting down. I would suggest that next time he refrain from prioritizing the needs of a group of men who have already eaten and might sit for another hour with a bottle of wine or two, versus a new party, there for a special occasion, and ready to order wine and full course meals.

Terrible, terrible, terrible

By Lil R |

Bad food and service. The quality of food and presentation leaves a lot to deserve. Service was unprofessional and inefficient. Do not waste you money.

Great atmosphere

By Roger |

The restaurant had a really nice feel to it , everyone was friendly and interesting . The staff went out of their way to chat about the dishes and recommendations . When the food arrived we were not disappointed . Special mention of the octopus salad which was simply amazing .

Sunday brunch was lovely

By mdmprez |

Six of us sat under a large umbrella on the sidewalk and had a lovely, leisurely lunch. The Burrata and pasta dishes were superb, and the best French toast made from Challah bread with cinnamon and fruit was served. The scrambled eggs with salmon were well prepared and the blinis and mimosas were ample and good. Nothing like sitting outside for brunch in January enjoying sunny weather.

Pathetic manager

By Dave H |

We made reservation. The restaurant was 30% full. They seated us at a table with traffic on three sides. We asked for table switch. The manager refused. Will not go back again.

Spot on every time

By Elisa C |

I can't say enough about this place. When out of town friends and relatives visit, I always insist on them dining here. They have so many delicious dishes, it's hard to pick just one. They also have a great wine selection. I also love the overall ambiance in this restaurant, it's always so full of life! Definitely recommend this place!

Good food and service

By Michael T |

This is a nice place in the Grove. The food is good and so is the service. The menu is quite diverse. This place gets busy (and loud) so keep in mind when planning a visit.

Lunch

By Carminecolarusso |

It was a good Luch atmosphere, the prosciutto had excellent taste but served in a grotesque way, the Parmigiano Reggiano was superb and my Bistecca con le patatine amazing. Great place, very local (Coconut Grove) and will recommend it without a doubt.

Good local restaurant

By THEGOODLIFENOW |

Restaurant in a nice location, good ambience, and prices reasonable. Had several appetizers including calamari, octopus, and meatballs. All were tasty. Had several main entrees and pastas for the table to share. All were good but not great. One other important note to mention is that they do not have a liquor license therefore an after dinner drink such as Grappa, Limoncello, or Sambuca will not be possible.

Great spot for a relaxed lunch

Great menu, excellent service and great decor make Strada one of the best places in the Grove.. Outdoor sitting areas are a plus in the Winter and for pet owners.. Fantastic Italian wine list..

Best italian restaurant

Best Italian restaurant in the heart of Coconut Grove. Food and service was amazing. Vast selection of Italian wines with a great outdoor patio area to enjoy your wine.

Just a good time

If you re not a gourmet you will have a god time. But if you are demanding you will see that this is a regular plus restaurant. vongole linguini could be far more spicy. Tiramißu more delicate.

Neighborhood Italian with good vibe, okay food

By TravellingSMH |

No real surprises here.....a locally run good Italian restaurant that works and strives to be at the top. Food is good not great, I would say average on food and very good on value and service. Good enough wine list. Pros--Friendly attentive service, attractive dining room and outdoor areas. Menu strives to hit high marks, so A for effort, B for execution. We tried the white truffle pasta, long on pasta short on truffles, other pastas were better, We ordered a range of appetizers to share, which were good not exceptional We had one of the sidewalk tables which was A+ Cons--vitello tonnato was pre-prepared and not good, White truffle pasta as above just okay at $45. All in all, good atmosphere and friendly with average food....we were a party of 8, and they handled that well on a busy Saturday night.

unique food in a pleasant environment

First night in Miami with my husband and happened upon this spot as we walked around town. Just looking for a hearty snack and drinks this fit the bill. We sat outside, quickly tended to by staff. Menu was alot to take in - so many choices. Wine list was strong, wish there were a few other choices by the glass. Bread service was prompt, the oil was fanstatic, served in what looked like an old liquor bottle - nice touch. We ordered meatballs, the meat and cheese plate, fried olives and tuna carpacio. All was very tasty, nice portions. Looking at the tables around us very glad we did not order pasta or a regular entree as it would have been way too much food. Overall, good service, solid menu and nice relaxing location. Reasonable price point for quality and portions. I would recommend and return.

Incredible service and wonderful food

We were so happy to venture out as tourists from UK and Holland. Nice to get away from South Beach and come to Coconut Grove. The food and wine was divine and we were thoroughly taken care of. Would highly recommend .

100% every time!

Love all of Mauritzio's ventures since way back when, but this is our absolute favorite! The food is of the highest quality and the service is superior to any Miami dining by far! Magnifico!00

Excellent Food and Services

By Natasha R |

We were visiting Miami University and wanted to have dinner in Italian restaurant. Found couple of different palaces but I liked the photos of the food dished and the place itself. We called for reservation and were told that the only sitting was available outside. Decided to go anyway... While driving, the area looked a bit abandoned, I started to worry about our choice but was pleasantly surprised! Once we got near the restaurant everything got nicer. We were sitted outside. Got very attentive waiter and his assistant. First time in a long while, I only had to ask for anything once, after that, the waiter was almost reading mt mind. The food was excellent! We had pasta, ravioli and skirts stake - cooked to perfection. When the runner brought the food out, he knew exactly who gets what (instead of asking us). Overall: 5 stars to me!

Real Italian in the hear of Coconut Grove

By JorgeBrugo |

Very good italian food. The real thing. Great value and nice setting. Quite minimalist, with a casual chic style. It would get a 5 star if only the recepcionists would be more careful with the guests during peak hours. As habitués we had to leave last time we showed up because they were very rude and didn't seem to care about our business.

great service and food

Very good Italian food and wines in a relaxed ambiance

The ambiance is relaxed. The restaurant is unpretentious but nice. The food is really top notch Italian an their wine list includes e few Brunellos and Barolos well worth trying. I highly recommend this small gem in Coconut Grove/Miami.

I had the worlds WORST champagne chicken- it was the definition of rubber chicken- a travesty of one of my favorite chicken dishes...my spouse had the bronzino and it was only marginally better. The only reason it is not a zero is that the service and wine list were good.

A hidden gem

Tucked away between a Yoga store and a more prominent Lokal burger place is Strada. Tasty American/Italian cuisine, civilized ambience, and competent service. One of my favorites for this part of town.

Great food and service

By alexandra t |

Food was great. Service was on point and they do accommodate. Menu is diverse so there is something on the menu for everyone. They have a truffle egg with plantain chips...can't remember the name of the dish..INCREDIBLE. only downside is that sometimes it can get too packed and I cannot have a conversation with company

Afternoon with friends

This is a charming restaurant tucked away in Coconut Grove. Food; especially the salads was delicious. We went on Rose day and enjoyed the sparkling rose. Service was good.

Very good Italian food

By ChiefWolf |

One of the best small Italian food places in Coconut Grove (Miami) FL. Clearly experts in pasta. Well cooked and they accommodate specific taste desires besides offering the normal Italian menu. Offers sitting outside as well as inside. Wine list is reasonable.

A very good pasta dinner

By BKandAK |

We ordered starter salads & pasta. The food was very good & the service was good too but .... why do wait staff not know that dishes should be cleared only after EVERYONE at the table has finished eating? The restaurant was very busy & very noisy but if you want a delicious Italian meal, this is the place for you.

Authenic Italian in Coconut Grove

By dgilfor |

Been going to Coconut Grove for years but never tried Strada. Four friends were going there for dinner and they asked if my group of four wanted to join them. I am very glad we did. Between the eight of us, we ordered a wide variety of appetizers and entrees. Everything was delicious. The ambience and service were top notch.

Wonderful evening in the grove

By Sandy W |

We sat outside in the back and had a wonderful meal. There was plenty of room for 4 adults, a baby and our daughter's golden doodle. The service was top flight. The branzino and the salmon entrees were excellent. We came relatively early on a Saturday night and had no problem getting seated.

Dissapointed

By Bull0424 |

I live one block away and tried this restaurant several times, thinking to see some improvements. Service is very rude, food is raw 80% of the time ( not " al dente" ) as they say and always there is an excuse instead of accepting the mistakes. Good luck for them !

Strada restaurante in Coconut Grove, Miami

Very good service and the food was delicious. We had Miami Spice , 3 main courses for $23.00!!! My brother in law wanted “vongole “ without the pasta and they prepared them very well as he asked.

Best experience ever

By Sammy R |

Amazing, Amazing and Amazing!!!! Best Italian food in Miami. It's so good that you have to call in 3 days ahead of time to get a table. The owner is always present to make sure that everything is perfect. Their appetizers are the perfect portions for a group. The lobster ravioli is my wife's favorite. Great wine selection.

Delicious food, great service!

It was a very spontaneous decision to eat here. We enjoyed the seating outside and the so attentive service of Ivan. My husband ordered a salad, some chicken legs and a small pizza. He enjoyed every bite to the very last one. I had salmon with lettuce and figs 😋 and a glass of nice pinot griggio. - We will be back before we return to Switzerland.

AMAZING! Food, Ambience, Dessert, Service - all AMAZING!

By Jennifer H |

What a wonderful restaurant! From start to finish, our experience was nothing short of fantastic. Our meals were delicious and it is plain to taste that the dishes are all freshly homemade with fresh and delightful ingredients. The pasta was wonderful - I ate the entire plate! My husband had the risotto and, although he liked it, he had food envy when he saw the gigantic portion of chicken parmigiana that my daughters both ordered. We all tasted the chicken, as it was plentiful, and it was delicious. Fried perfectly with just the right amount of sauce and served with pasta. I was too stuffed to even consider dessert, but the girls both ordered tiramisu, and whoa. I have never had such marvelous, clearly homemade tiramisu in my life. I rarely order dessert - it's just not my thing - but I order this tiramisu daily and twice on Sunday. It was AMAZING. I truly cannot extol its virtues well enough with words. I highly, highly recommend this little gem in Coconut Grove. As if that little area could not get any more awesome, this place makes it well worth the slight parking hassle. I will definitely make it back here on my trips to Miami/Coral Gables!

Spaghetti al Ragu

By Miss Bonafide |

On the last night, I fancied Italian and upon inquiring with Concierge, they highly recommended Strada. I was very impressed with the Host/Server Luis, he was most welcoming and started off my dining experience with excellent service. The other Servers & Bartender was very friendly and attentive even though the place was packed. I sat at the Bar which was fully stocked with a variety of Red Wines however they do have White & Rose listed. After perusing the Menu, I settled for the Fettuccine al Ragu, but opted to change the pasta to Spaghetti (al dente) instead. They happily accommodated my preferences and I enjoyed it to the last bite as everything tasted freshly made with just the right ingredients. The Bolognese meat was chunky with tomatoes and really old fashioned, like how Grandma makes it…you can feel the love and craft in this meal. I’m sorry I didn’t discover this place earlier because it was the highlight of my trip but there’s always next time. Buon Appetito!
